Tarahal Lake Athletic sit atop the division halfway through, buoyed again by their excellent defensive play, having conceded only four goals throughout fifteen matches. Can anyone score on them, really? Right behind, though, are perennial contenders Unbidden United, the Avnegers led by Jane, and a Freedom's Altar FC side that won't go away. Surprisingly, Etoile City FC is also on the mix. The biggest disappointment thus far goes to North Hampton City, whose defense has fallen apart with Terrance Housen struggling. The Skys will have to pick it up in the second half if they want to avoid a shocking relegation to the seconedary division.

V-League: 34th Season Tropical Trophy
(Note: The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one. For this seasons Tropical Trophy, The V-League Stellar Division & Vilitan Cup Champions (Turoki Tide) were invited to face off against the V-League runners up (Strike FC). Strike went into the match two-time winners but having lost 5 or their last 6 Tropical Trophy attempts, including against the two-time trophy champion Tide in their first Tropical Trophy during season 30.

Globe Cup 40 Rematch sets Tone for V-League Season

It was the start of a new season for the Turoki Tide. Fresh off a nearly perfect season of successes, the Turoki Tide had accomplished what Strike FC never could: Back up a clean sweep of Vilitan League trophies with an International Trophy... or two.

After taking home the Tropical Trophy, Vilitan Stellar Division and Vilitan Cup titles for Season 33, the Turoki Tide put Vilita's 'other island' firmly on the footballing map by winning the UICA Globe Cup - doing so by defeating their rivals on the day, Jungle Strike FC. The Tide then rode the outstanding play of Hooizo Nuakoi to the club, and the Vilitan League's first ever UICA Super Cup championship.

While they were ultimately knocked out by Kristofer Kilpter's East Franz Athletic side in the Cygnus Cup, most Tidal Basin fans still consider it a clean sweep of domestic and international hardware by the Tide.

Watching the success their newest rivals achieved on the International stage could only serve to motivate Strike who will have circled the Tropical Trophy as the opportunity to prove that they were just as deserving of all the accolades, Globe Cup finalists themselves, just one step away from international glory and not willing to let the Tide take control as the governing force in the Vilitan league.

Neither side made many changes from their Globe Cup rosters for the 34th V-League season, although Strike FC did bring back head coach Ematora Pikiaka after sacking the well liked Mikala Abellan as a sign of faith to their fanbase that a season without silverware was not acceptable by Jungle Strike FC standards. Although they haven't won the League since Season 30 under now-Vilitan National team head coach Calaesa Mitaroka, Strike did win the Vilitan Cup under Pikiaka during Season 31, the last major silverware on the shelves at the Lonngeylin Coliseum.

A very familiar Strike side stepped out onto the field at the Tivali Ring Stadium with Nycflala Kater leading the team out. The only surprise saw Yves Gadois sitting on the bench, Pikiaki going with an uncharacteristic 4-5-1 formation with Viji-mara Lawaai the lone striker. Sitting on the bench alongside Gadois were a pair of youth products joining the senior side for the first time - likely just for the experience of being there in the locker room, Audioslavian goalkeeper Kajaxo Imaslavii and young Vilita/Turori attacker Lopaki Kilpter.

Jungle Strike FC [4-5-1] ::
[GK] Nycflala Kater (VIL), [D] Matt Ordish (KRY), [D] Miiara Makose (VIL), [D] Azestella Ajhabekk (STR), [D] Ritopa Simafela (VIL), [M] Retiso Buran (VIL), [M] Jomur Hulyer (VIL), [M] Jian Lejsrma (VIL), [M] Coll Brodie (TBI), [M] Relmar Winauat (VIL), [F] Viji-mara Lawaai (VIL)

The Tide were starting at a disadvantage, missing star midfielder Steffyn Siazzu who carried over a one match ban from the end of Season 33. Otherwise, the lineup was virtually unchanged from their Globe Cup 40 winning roster with Lucas Andrada partnering Actalia Mermaioada in attack and Turori National Team goalkeeper Hooizo Nuakoi in net.

Turoki Tide [3-5-2] ::
[GK] Hooizo Nuakoi (TUR) , [D] Uajiala Pulkki (VIL), [D] Lioniaa Tana (TUR), [D] Pedro Uguccione (OSD), [M] Restiaa Mumamba (TUR), [M] Dante Sekagya (VIL), [M] JD Fuller (MNG/VIL), [M] Michael Coburn (LIV), [M] Rexii Tzikas (VIL), [F] Actalia Mermaioada (VIL), [F] Lucas Andrada (SRG)

Turorian referee Tuaoko Vumaou was called upon to officiate the match, fresh off his exciting tour of the multiverse during World Cup 62.

The first real chance of the match came about 10 minutes in when Pikiaka's 4-5-1 formation appeared to pay dividends, sending Lawaai clear on goal. He tried to slot low to Nuakoi's right but the expert shot-stopper was equal to the task, not only stopping the shot but smothering the ball to prevent any rebound opportunity.

Pikiaki's choice of formation continued to press the Tide defense as Lawaai frequently was put through by the overpowering Strike midfield but found himself unable to find the net. On the half hour mark, instead of firing the shot on goal after being fed through by Relmar Winauat, Lawaai touched the ball lightly back across goal into the path of the Vilitan midfielder completely surprising Nuakoi and leaving Winauat an empty net to shoot at, giving Strike the 1-0 lead which they would hold until the half.

The Babbage Island's Coll Brodie was first into Tuaoko Vumaou's book, receiving a yellow card on a controversial play that some felt could have been punished further by the Cocoabo Preservation Activist.

Neither side made any changes at the half and the Tide came out quickly giving Nycflala Kater much to do just minutes after the restart, with Andrada's effort being pushed aside to the feet of Mermaioada, but Kater crawled back into the path of the rebound effort to preserve the one-goal lead for the challengers.

In a surprise move, holding onto the 1-0 lead in a tense match, Ematora Pikiaka made the change that no one expected, introducing the almost-too-young Lopaki Kilpter into the fray on the hour mark, replacing Vilitan National Team midfielder Retiso Buran. It wasn't clear if Buran had picked up a knock or Pikiaka was just looking to get the young prospect, who hasn't even been invited to any Vilita National Team training camps, some time on the big stage. Never the less, the change was made and the Tide had a completely unknown entity to deal with in the middle of Pikiaka's 4-5-1 Wall of midfielders.

Kilpters first touch of the ball in professional competition was a shot after being masterfully fed through, it looked as if Pikiaka had uncovered a gem. But it was all positioning and no follow through as the youngsters shot blazed well clear of the upright resulting in the appropriate response from the crowd.

The Tide began to press forward as time was winding down, moving further and further up the field. Goalkeeper Nuakoi was inching outside of his box acting as the 12th player to aide in distribution and utilize all the time they had left to create a scoring opportunity to continue the Tide's incredible run of silverware.

The added pressure would be punished by Pikiaka's brilliance, however, and it was Lawaai who collected the ball and looped it over the backstepping Nuakoi to double the advantage for Strike with just 10 minutes to play, all but clinching the Tropical Trophy for Jungle Strike a record 11th time. The goal was extra special for Lawaai who hit the century mark for the club in all competitions, warranting a special scoreboard graphic.

It was a determined performance for Strike, who set the record straight by winning the rematch of their Globe Cup 40 defeat to the Turoki Tide. The Tide, however, will contend that the story may have been different if star midfielder Steffyn Siazzu were on the pitch, making it clear that the upcoming V-League season may well take all 26 matches before one of the two teams can come out on top.

Statwise:
:: This is Strike FC's 11th Tropical Trophy Victory in their 19th appearance.
:: This is Turorki Tide's 1st Tropical Trophy Defeat in 3 Appearances.
:: This is the 3rd consecutive Tropical Trophy competition where the losing team did not score a goal.
:: This is the first Tropical Trophy in the 'modern era*' that was decided by more than 1 goal. (Previous was Strike 3-1 Yeaddin during Season 23)
:: This is the 3rd Tropical Trophy that has ended in a 2-0 Scoreline [Strike v. Irougil, S21; Yeaddin v. Arcticala, S9]
:: Lopaki Kilpter is the youngest player to appear in the Tropical Trophy since Thierry Columbo (Yeaddin Owls, Season 6)
:: Lucas Andrada is the oldest player to appear in the Tropical Trophy in the modern era.

* The modern Era is defined as all seasons from Season 26 on. Seasons 1-25 are the 'classic era'.

Tropical Trophy Host Site:

Tivali Ring Stadium - Alikki-Corra, Vilita (87,000 Capacity)
The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali Ring. The Football Association regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchup. In addition to its World Cup matches, 'The Ring' hosted the 40th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup Final. The stadium was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict.

Postby Osarius » Thu Nov 15, 2012 3:43 pm

In the wake of the administrative snafu that was last season*, the OFA have been attempting -- with varying degrees of success -- to codify a new system of competition management. It hasn't quite worked out as well as they'd hoped, but the restructuring of Osarian football is now complete, in perfect time for the turn of the new century.

A complicated system of playoffs and promotion and relegation was initiated three months ago, and has finally ground to a close, giving us the necessary information to now reveal the new structure of the Osarian Football League Pyramid.

Tier 1: Golden League
(16 teams, 1 division)

The Golden League is a sixteen team, double round-robin competition which represents the highest level of professional association football in Osarius.

Kart Hago FC beat Real Rajahara 1-0 in the Kart Hago Koliseum to win the second leg of the Golden League Playoff Final -- dubbed "the billion credit final" by the media -- and thus the tie, 4-2 on aggregate. The victory earned them a place in the lucrative new top tier of Osarian Football, the Golden League.

Burningham City Hastmead Diamante
Callisto City Iton Valley
Charleston Athletic Kart Hago
FC Barciddia Kyoshiku Island
FC United of Dynapolis Real Jraxville
Firewood City Trothwands Evolution
Grasshoppers Turic Utica United
Greeningham City Warton Villa

In line with the rebranding and restructuring, there are now new rules on promotion and relegation across the four tiers of professional football in Osarius.

If thirteenth place in the Golden League finishes less than four points above fifteenth, Golden Road Playoffs are activated. In such a case, thirteenth and fourteenth place in the Golden League enter the Golden Road Playoffs (see below). The bottom two teams in the Golden League are relegated no matter what.

Tier 2: Aurumia League
(16 teams, 1 division)

Much like the Golden League, the Aurumia League is a sixteen team, double round-robin competition.

AFC Hollybrent Pinturici Rangers
Arcaea County Rapid Hearthlands
Bowsston United Real Rajahara
Cymrwell FC Renneville United
FC Masaka Shanak FC
Inter Alepio Spoturess FC
Littleshaw Village Trelagstad FC
Muirford Athletic Violia FC

In a somewhat controversial move, the top two from last season's Phoenix League were admitted directly into the new Aurumia League. Meanwhile, the Phoenix League Playoff winners, as well as several teams finishing in the bottom half of the Royal League had to enter the Aurumia League Playoffs.

Eventually, it was Spoturess FC who prevailed, bumping the unfortunate Junipa Athletic -- whom they beat 3-2 on aggregate -- down to the third tier.

Like the Golden League, there are new rules regarding promotion and relegation for the Aurumia League. The top two teams in the Aurumia League will be promoted to the Golden League -- much like in the old Royal League -- but the playoffs will be dependent entirely on Golden League final standings.

If Golden Road Playoffs are activated, teams finishing third through sixth in the Aurumia League will face off in the first round, with the winners meeting thirteenth and fourteenth place from the Golden League in the second round. The winners of these matches will then be admitted to the Golden League for the following season. Should Golden Road Playoffs not be activated, there will be no further promotion or relegation beyond the top two/bottom two switch.

The bottom two teams in the Aurumia League are relegated to the Duchess League for the following season. The teams finishing thirteenth and fourteenth will face the Duchess League divisional runners-up (drawn randomly), with the winners taking part in the Aurumia League the following season.

Tier 3: Duchess League
(32 teams, 2 divisions)

The third tier will also be double round-robin, though its thirty-two teams will be split into two vaguely geographical divisions of sixteen.
Only the divisional champions will be guaranteed promotion to the Aurumia League. The divisional runners-up have a chance for promotion too, but no other teams.

The teams finishing bottom of each Duchess League division are relegated to the Inter-Regional League for the following season. They are replaced by the two divisional champions from the Inter-Regional League with the best records.

The teams finishing in fourteenth and fifteenth position in each Duchess League division are then seeded and matched up with the other four divisional champions from the Inter-Regional League. The winners of these ties compete in the Duchess League the following season.

Tier 4: Inter-Regional League
(48 teams, 6 divisions)

The Inter-Regional League is split into two "conferences", each with three divisions, of eight teams each.
It's fixture list is a little more complicated, with each conference engaging in a single round-robin competition, and then each division is another single round-robin competition, for a total of thirty games.

The divisional champions in the Inter-Regional League are the only teams with a chance at promotion. The two with the best records are automatically promoted to the Duchess League, while the other four are seeded and given matchups with low-ranking Duchess League teams for a chance at promotion.

The OFA hope the new structure -- which ensures exactly thirty league games for every professional team in the country -- will allow for greater ease of fixture and competition organisation. It also allows a winter break to be introduced, which has been an issue for some time.

"It's been a long time coming, but we've been watching the progress of the national team in recent years and we've noticed a correlation between the number of games played domestically, and international success" said Lord William Kenterbury, who has announced his intention to step down as Chairman of the OFA at the end of the next season. "The lone successful qualifying campaign we've had for the World Cup came after a season in which we didn't compete in international competition, for example. I don't have all of the figures and data here, but there was enough evidence to suggest that there was a pattern. Our analysts put it to us that we could restructure things and perhaps increase our chances of repeating the successes of Firewood City and Kyoshiku Island in UICA competition as well as the national team being a more regular fixture in the World Cup."

It remains to be seen whether these changes will yield success, or whether they'll be embraced by the fans -- the idea of relegation playoffs has been met with resistance in some areas, for example -- but they are almost certain to be remembered as the legacy of Lord Kenterbury. His successor will have some enormous shoes to fill, and there have been significant calls for former national team manager Alain Montblanc -- Osarius' lone Hall of Famer -- to take up the mantle. Montblanc himself has attempted to distance himself from the role, but his appointment would certainly help to reduce the feeling that the OFA has developed something of an over-politicised nature in recent years.

If not Montblanc, then at least someone from within the game, seems to be the general consensus. Any applicants from such an arena would have a strong supporter in the form of former Burningham City manager Sir George Pennant. "I'd love to see Alain Montblanc take over, but it seems like he has no interest in the post. At the very least, I think we should have someone in charge of the OFA who has played and/or managed the sport at the highest level." He told us. "It just doesn't seem sensible to have a suit in charge of a sport, if that makes sense."

*Long story short, there wasn't actually a proper league season. This is part of the reasoning behind the OFA's decision to basically ignore everything prior to the upcoming season for records purposes... they know they cocked up, basically.

OOC: UICA or other organizers requiring more proof of scorinated results should know that seemingly omitted info can be found over here. It's all there, though it's randomly broken up into different posts.

Ivesh Bulah 5260 Season Summary
Image

Tertius Shajarhayam – Big news (discussed in some detail over here)! PIFA organizers, after several months of coordinated counseling with licensed psychiatrists, have publicly announced that the 'eleven team format of the Ivesh Bulah' was a 'well-intentioned blunder.' After just two seasons of the pro-nostalgia format, the Ivesh Bulah will adopt the sixteen-team structure that was enjoyed with broad success under the now-defunct KPFA League First Division.

So, expect to see all sorts of weird nonsense below when it comes to which teams are going to which flight. One thing will not change - the relegation dogfight between noble Meteoriti and historically powerful club Zhevassi that we've had our eye on all season! Boris Timriz's brave lads have been leaking goals like coffee filter paper (odd since Timriz used to be a center back), whereas Fidesta Qiva's young squad has really struggled to score goals (not odd since Qiva used to be a defensive midfielder). One of the two is going down. Which one?!

Globe Cup: Sampa Gumbada Stidiyama, Juvapanam (48,000 seats)

With warm and lush public gardens stretching around the city, Juvapanam has to be one of the prettiest cities in all of the Pazhujeb Islands (also known in the not-so-distant past as Pazhujebu). The city's iconic skyline is known for its stucco buildings and slate-green clay tile roofs. And the football club they've got hanging around isn't too shabby either; Juvapanam ZL won three uninterrupted First Division titles between 5244 and 5246 (though their fortunes have declined quite a bit since then; they were relegated in 5258 and have only just now been promoted back to the top flight). Their stadium is a microcosm of their beloved city, constructed from the same tan stucco and roofed with the same green clay tile. It sits in the middle of a large public garden and is across the street from a small zoo. Large bronze statues of the iconic former players Šušan'ikara Ghur, Fušia Oujadda, and Edorta Urrustoy lie immediately outside the stadium's main entrance.

Globe Cup: Emuzhezh Stidiyama, Emuzhezh (36,000 seats)

Recently remodeled, this clay and steel park rests in the middle of the medium-sized but isolated east-Pazhujebi town of Emuzhezh. It hosts one Ivesh Bulah match every weekend, as two Emuzhezh clubs are currently enjoying stays in the top flight: Raktaghav Hathi and Urnabhi. The two clubs have a long-standing rivalry, representing the conservative and liberal portions of the Emuzhezh population respectively. The stadium reflects this rivalry, with the seats on the south side of the stadium painted Urnabhi's white and pink, and the seats on the north side painted in Hathi's all red. Large metal fifteen-foot-tall barricades have been built between these north and south sections to prevent violence between supporters since the teams have both played in the same division for the last decade. Discussions have been taking place as to whether the barricades will be removed if the UICA selects Emuzhezh Stidiyama as the Globe Cup Final venue, but they are in early stages.

I believe I'm allowed to submit results for this one puppet. If I'm wrong, feel free to ignore this entry and direct me to the rules on puppets that I missed. I found some in the OP, but I'm not positive about them...

This season of the NSI Cup has a new formula, with a Winner's Tournament named the NSI Cup, as usual, and the Loser's Bracket named the Second Cup. The final is a solely ceremonial match named the MelroseTM Cup of Champions, where the NSI Cup champion face the Second Cup champion, for a decent money prize and a title.

NSI Cup Results
And the NSI Cup Champions are the team of the Mabel Wigglytuffs!

Mabel Wigglytuffs 2 - 2 Selyne City Athenians
Penalty Shootout: 5 - 4

MelroseTM Cup of Champions
The Cup of Champions match was pretty much of a rematch of the NSI Cup final. The Selyne City Athenians, eliminating the Matthew City Senators on the Second Cup final, gave a payback to the Wigglytuffs by taking the trophy of the Cup of Champions.

The Iturributan Premier Division: Season 651 Preview

Iturributan league football has been played for four seasons now, and it now heads into its fifth with its two biggest teams sharing the titles equally – who will break the balance as the Premier Division climbs the ranks of the UICA? Iturributa United, coming off a tremendous win in the Rushmori Copa de Campeones? Or a revitalised Sporting? Meanwhile, Langaraitz Rovers has fought its way back up to the top flight and Iturributa Racing Club eyes a second-place finish on the back of its President's Cup success... lots to see in Iturributa these days!

Iturributa United ran out last seasons' winners in spectacular fashion, correcting its lack of offensive power and defensive solidity, and having won the league, they have since added a major prize to their trophy cabinet in the first edition of a reformed Copa de Campeones; the dramatic final against none other than Astograthian champions Echegoyan FC. Elwyn Richard, backed up by Zilar Oramuno and linked by Otz Lasuen, continues to be in top form, while the back has improved considerably with the leadership of Audioslavian international Anthony Newbridge. Besides the transfer of ageing centre-back Tartalo Maruri to the Astograthian First Division and the promotion of youth talent, the squad continues in much the same shape, though Mayorga Achaga has retired on a high point from management and been replaced by former United captain Petter Bielsen in his first management job. He doesn't have a lot of experience, but the close bond with his players and his commanding nature bodes well for the Polarian.

Sporting Iturributa have been licking their wounds in the meantime, still upset they could come away with neither the league nor the President's Cup. Their lineup has seen little change other than the sale of Slembanan outcast Eddie Barlow to Echegoyan FC, although unless Iratze Errekaborde steps up his game he could find himself replaced by starlet Yeremi Belaustigetigoitia. Manager Egoi Azarola has also announced this will be his final season in charge of the team citing his age and health, having managed them for almost two decades.

Iturributa Racing Club
Ground: The Hippodrome (22,160), Iturributa
Colours: Orange shirt with black stripe, orange shorts and socks
Honours: 2 President's Cups (647, 650)
Shirt Sponsor: Badiola (Iturributan automobiles)
Last Season Finish: 3rd
Notes: If there's someone who has the ability to break up the two-horse race it's Iturributa Racing, but it's always a long shot They are having trouble building a solid squad, with a scarcity of proven players and little in the way of big-name stars making their chances even narrower. They would be content with third place and can aim for another win in the President's Cup, where upsets come more easily.

ImageImage
Freedom FC
Ground: Lon Biteri Stadium (19,700), Iturributa
Colours: Red and yellow striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Last Season Finish: 4th
Shirt Sponsor: Hultman-Erstad (Polarian banking)
Notes: Riding on the back of their new striker sensation Urtatz Gaubeka and a generous sponsorship from Polarian bankers, Freedom FC have set their sights on Iturributa Racing's third place as the next rung on the ladder, although they'll have to be careful not to slip behind a vengeful Garitzeta Racing.

ImageImage
Garitzeta Racing Club
Ground: Letatzadur Stadium (21,260), Garitzeta
Colours: Black and orange striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Last Season Finish: 5th
Notes: Garitzeta Racing have recovered slightly from their paltry initial performances in the Premier Division, but have been unable to attain consistency and find themselves inexplicably performing worse than Freedom FC. They are barely able to retain their best players, but they remain confident that an enlarged stadium and generally improved infrastructure can allow them the edge they need to continue to challenge for Globe Cup football.

ImageImage
Independent Garitzeta
Ground: Martyrs Arena (43,350), Garitzeta
Colours: White with blue stripe, white shorts, blue socks
Shirt Sponsor: Pratarra (Iturributan alcoholic drinks)
Last Season Finish: 6th
Notes: Having lost the right to bear the title of 'Royal' and rebranding itself 'Independent', Garitzeta were one of the founding members of the Astograthian Football League, and long tumbled between the second and third tiers. In Iturributa their long-term hopes are Globe Cup qualification; moving into the grand Martyrs Arena, one of the Iturributan centrepieces purpose-built for the 48th Baptism of Fire, is a step in the right direction towards capitalising on the burgeoning football support of Garitzeta. In the short-term they can aim to best Garitzeta Racing, and have been very careful in spending the money received from the sale of striker Balendin Uzkudun to the high-flying Valladar Super League.

ImageImage
Guenara Defender
Ground: The Final Frontier (25,920), Guenara
Colours: Yellow kit, black shorts, yellow socks
Shirt Sponsor: Kirrolen (Iturributan energy drinks)
Last Season Finish: 7th
Notes: Defender are economically stable and have good infrastructure, which puts them in an excellent position to take advantage of Iturributa's new status, but they have so far squandered their opportunities. Most aren't sure if they should be glad about Guenara City's relegation, given it could well be them following suit soon and they are robbed from two of their most popular fixtures of the year, but all are in favour of the extensively refurbished Final Frontier.

ImageImage
Sorokin's Old Boys
Ground: The Colossus (31,530), Soloandia
Colours: Black and red halved shirt, black shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: Petromok (Astograthian petrol)
Last Season Finish: 8th
Notes: Sorokin's Old Boys, founded by the eponymous Mytanar immigrant many ages ago, unusually draws huge crowds at the resort city of Soloandia along with its rivals Palmandoak. The Colossus was built for two reasons - hosting the Baptism of Fire and giving SOB a decent ground to play at. A friendly with Iturributa United prior to the BoF sealed the deal, but league football has felt much different now that facing Palmandoak isn't a regular fixture. In a ten-team league, it's a ruthless fight to escape from the bottom, and so far they have done so admirably.

ImageImage
Axpuru Castle
Ground: Gaztelakuo (11,600), Axpuru
Colours: All blue kit
Shirt Sponsor: Seasogs (Polarian spirits)
Last Season Finish: 9th
Notes: With a small but loyal fanbase, Axpuru Castle are lookng to cement their position within the top flight before raising their ambitions; they have so far proved their mettle in the SBCC and by survivng their first season in the Premier Division. They are expected to be in a tussle with Langaraitz Rovers and Sorokin's Old Boys, which should be interesting as they all try to survive.

ImageImage
Langaraitz Rovers
Ground: The Settling Grounds (24,400)
Colours: Black and light blue striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Last Season Finish: Premier Division B champions
Shirt Sponsor: Iturrikola (Iturributan soft drinks)
Notes: One of the founding members of the Premier Division, Rovers were also the first to be relegated and it has taken them this long to return. They now have more experience, a top-notch ground, a larger supporter base and a lucrative sponsorship deal, which gives them better odds of surviving this time around.

Gordonopia Premier League
2016 Season Preview
Five Year Anniversary

Image
The Beautiful Game only gets better in Gordonopia as the GPL gears up for its fifth season. Newcomers and powerhouses alike now face months of incredible football in one of the world's fastest rising leagues. The past few years have seen big moments. This year will hopefully top them all.

As the league moves to number 20 in the world, the pressure to compete continues to mount. With two Champions Cup spots up for grabs, teams will be fighting with everything they have for a shot at worldwide glory. Meanwhile, the race for the Gordonopia Cup and the season title is as heated as ever.

Over the past few years, many changes have happened to the league. Only ten of the original 17 teams are still playing, while several of the newcomers, such as Willingham AC and Reinheim Metro, have found success in their own right. But through all of it, the GPL still remains Gordonopia's Premier league. Here's to five years. Here's to many more.

Teams to Watch

FC Deska

The Northern Wall enters its fifth GPL season in as good a shape as ever. A fair amount of success in the offseason, namely
Image
a group stage berth in the Globe Cup, gives the team momentum, while many of the squad's players have benefited tremendously from National Team Experience. Deska was notably involved in the most high profile offseason trade when it gave up system product Martin Mallorn to crosstown rival Reinheim Metro in exchange for NT capped defender Gerard Hendry. It may just be that the loss of Deska's best offensive producer will be made up for by having a whopping five players on the national team roster. Regardless, expect the wall to come out strong, and look towards the Gordonopia Cup, where they will hope to reclaim the title following a bitter defeat to Kaje Football in the final in 2015.

Kaje Football

The offense to Deska's defense, Kaje has the bar set high as it looks to become the first repeat Gordonopia Cup winner,
Image
and also break Deska's iron grip on the regular season. This may just be the year to do that after former star striker, and inaugural Golden Boot winner, Jere Tobias rejoins his old team for a single season. Tobias will make a formidable third point to the Dynamic Duo of Vonn Keller and Galdinho, as Tobias and Keller hold the first and second spots on the all time national team goal list, with 18 and 14 respectively. Perhaps this stunning offensive prowess at front is just what is needed to truly crack the wall

Beaverriver Soccer Season 15
After a successful season domestically for the rising club Wes TY, they had a run to the group stages of Series B Champions Cup. Only Corny Town has matched how far a Beaverriver Club has made in international competition. Though they didn't have much success in the group stage, the team is being praised as being the next big club in Beaverriver. Speaking of rising clubs, 2.Corvan City was recently purchased by Cane soda company CEO Rangul Ronsalez and was renamed Carpe Diem. In a press release by Carpe Diem, Rangul said he wants to make this team one of the best soccer clubs in the world.

The Great Football Schism has seen the rise of two separate bodies lay claim to be the legitimate representative of Ancharmunn in world football. This situation lead to two separate teams representing the country during qualifying for the most recent World Cup and now leads to two separate bodies entering Charmunnry club sides into the likes of UICA competition.

Whilst the (vaguely) professional clubs of the National Soccer League have sided with the nascent National Soccer Board, the teams of Junior League have remained loyal to the original Cumann Sacaar an Tearmann association. It is thought that the promise of UICA football is what has kept the Junior League loyal to the CST, with the only Junior League team to jump ship being the Civil Service club. Given the government's role in organising the replacement of the CST the position of a club made up of civil servants remaining with the organisation would have been untenable for many.

The Junior League is split into two divisions on a north-south basis. Though nominally each nine strong the Southern division is for now reduced to eight teams due to the absence of Civil Service. The teams who top the two divisions playoff to decide the overall winner of the league (and the league's Champions' Cup representative), whilst the two second placed teams play off to decide the leagues final Globe Cup entrant (the other two places having gone to the Junior Cup winner and champions play off loser).

*Denotes Captains
**Denotes Foreigner
Atlantea Hurricanes

Ground:Atlantea Coliseum 590,000
Manager:Alexander White
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the League
Starters:Ehrhardt, Northcliff**, Miller, Vanswoi*, Sebastian**, Malote**, Klose, Knickerbocker, Morris, Zaucier, Inmora**
ReservesMartin, Latrobe, Raț**, Taft, Klassen, Klose, Lane
Sponsor:Atlantea Business Association
Nickname(s):Hurricanes, Canes
Offseason Moves:Bought CB Tyler Smyth from 3.14. Bought LF Jem Morris from FC Tenacity. Bought CF Jemmy Zaucier from Real Atlantea. Bought CM Fred Klose and Midfielder Fred Klose from Tar Pit. Bought CB Franz Miller from Taeshan City Miners.
Last Season Finish:8th
Team InfoAll I can say is that the Coliseum has seen better teams. Recently the Hurricanes have not been much more than a middle of the road team. They have been passed by the likes of both teams from Bayern, and now Laketown Rangers. Even Tintown has had a better few seasons than the Hurricanes. They may be a sleeping giant though, and I feel looking at them that they still have much more talent than they show, and a poke here or there and they may get back to the Atlantea Hurricanes of old.

Bayern Phoenix

Ground:Old Club Stadium 77,000
Manager:Tyler Smith
Colors:Red and Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the Championship
Starters:Glee, Styles, Ewing**, Drummond, Russell**, Austin, Hagerty, Bauer, Pato, Moffat, Petreas
ReservesJones, Federov, Peachy, Marks, Landsaw, Baker
Sponsor:Glendale Pharmacy
Nickname(s):Phoenix
Offseason Moves:Bought CB Rory Drummond from 3.14. Bought RM Manny Pato from Mierton Manatees. Bought CAM Chad Moffat from Taeshan City Miners.
Last Season Finish:2nd
Team InfoA great season for the Phoenix, but it was not good enough. Laketown lifted the season only two years after the first time they did it. Bayern-Algaer was a few points back so Phoenix can take pride in the fact that they beat their rivals. Now though they really just want to win the TSL a feat they haven’t done in five years now.

Bayern-Algaer

Ground:Bayern Stadium 24,000
Manager:Miron Prentice
Colors:Red and Black
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Win League, Beat the Phoenix
Starters:Suarez, Faulkner, Skiles, Bubela**, Hawk, Rat, Puse**, Ptolemy*, Jack-Bentley**, Sanka, Kljestan
ReservesRose, Falk, Llana, Rainn, Shrew
Sponsor:Weaver, Smith and Wrangler
Nickname(s):Weavers
Offseason Moves:Bought CB Eduardo Bubela from Mynatar club Torpedo Vershina. Bought GK Rex Suarez from Cache. Bought LB Toby Faulkner and CDM Coleby Hawk from Sparta F.C. Bought RB Coby Skiles from Taeshan City Miners.
Last Season Finish:3rd
Team InfoWell they would have preferred a second straight title, but the Weavers didn’t. They didn’t even beat their rivals from the city. Now after an offseason in which they lost a lot of players they must really look to just make it through on the top half. They are still the team they were, and their name holds a lot of power, but the talent is lacking, and I’m not sure how good some of these players coming in really are.

Blacklake Blues

Ground:Blacklake Blues Ballpark 79,000
Manager:Karl Ash
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay in top division
Starters:Voorheis, Tamapher, Edu, Neverland*, Tyler, Utley, Conrad, Kafka**, Salvador, McLane, Angel
Reserves:Fletcher, Foxtrot, Saltzer, Galadriel, Everdeen
Sponsor:Blacklake Brewery
Nickname(s):Blues
Offseason Moves:Bought LB Tyler Tamapher from Celtic Rangers F.C. and bought LW Zander McLane from Sparta F.C.
Last Season Finish:21st
Team InfoA horrible season after their top 8 seasons, last year is hopefully not a sign of things to come for Blacklake’s sake. They had a really bad season, and they had so much to build on. Their real hope rely’s on the ability of their attack, and last season the attack didn’t exist. Hopefully the new winger Zander McLane can fix that.

Capetown Croc’s

Ground:Capetown Stadium 34,000
Manager:Anyell Petrius
Colors:Black and Green
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay topside
Starters:Brown, Walker, Georgina, Cauller, Mellinger, Slannet, Fox, LaChette, Inyetu, Ching, Ralston*
ReservesSmoker, Wanner, Saul, Ox, Kefer
Sponsor:TMI Lighting
Nickname(s):Croc’s, The Ancients
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:1st Erste Liga
Team InfoThe champions of the Erste division, Capetown is not the same team that got relegated in its only year in the top flight in recent history. That’s not to say it is any better, but they definitely have a young and talented squad, fruition of that talent is a totally different story. Hopefully for them they see something work out this season.

Fadrön Flight

Ground:Fadrön University Field 89,000
Manager:Capricorn Mayuscula
Colors:Green and Red
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spots
Starters:Casanova*, Smyth, Parker, Robinson, Miller, Bodreau, Scott, Faujeau, Dereke, Woods, Nagle
Reserves:Parks, Fitzgerald, Flanders, Argo, Parsons
Sponsor:Taeshan Air
Nickname(s):Flight, Flyers
Offseason Moves:Bought LB Andrew Smyth and CB Ezekiel Robinson from Sparta F.C.
Last Season Finish:16th
Team InfoA sad season for the Flight. And then decimation in the offseason as player after player hung up their cleats. They come back with a lot of speed, and as speed many times means, a lot of youth. Untested youth in many cases, and it should be somewhat scary to their fans to see what this team looks like coming into the season.

FC Tenacity

Ground:Englmarkt Arena 46,000
Manager:Zackary Villanueva
Colors:Blue, Green and Black
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Stay top Flight
Starters:Kohler, Sommers, Jameek, Stevens, Ortz, Cardinal, McHenry, Frenchie, Abreu*, Kyles, Minotaur
ReservesSlayze, Foles, Cassleburg, Borne, Stiles
Sponsor:Englmarkt
Nickname(s):The Checkers
Offseason Moves:Sold Forward Jem Morris to Atlantea Hurricanes. Bought RF William Minotaur from 3.14. Bought RM Nikolai Warner from Celtic Rangers F.C. Bought CM Daxx McHenry from Sparta F.C. Bought LM Jansen Cardinal from Tar Pit.
Last Season Finish:9th
Team InfoA very good season for FC Tenacity as they broke the top 10 and throughout showed elements of a very good future ahead. With the addition of some youngsters, including highly touted midfielder Jansen Cardinal from Tar Pit, they are sure to continue to rise and show the Tenacity they are known for.

Knightspurs

Ground:The Dome 92,300
Manager:Konar Sanchez
Colors:Purple and Powder Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Pick the pieces up with a barren squad
Starters:Celani, Sanders, Provyay, Argo, Young**, Forrestor, Connor, von Hittite, Weinreich, Bouvieau, Williamson*
ReservesMedyedva, Garden, Prescott, Murray, Walker
Sponsor:Tae-Mart
Nickname(s):Spurs, Knights
Offseason Moves:Bought CB Eddie Argo from Tar Pit, and bought RM Ed Weinreich from X Island Metrostars.
Last Season Finish:19th
Team InfoWell the good news is they had a really bad season, but in the end they still managed to stay afloat in the top flight and that’s all they went into the season needing to do. They had little room to let go at the end of the season, and with money problems and few good players they had to make do, now they seem back on their feet and have a chance to once again strike.

Laketown F.C.

Ground:Laketown Football Stadium (70,000)
Manager:Vladimir Ash
Colors:Green, Purple and Blue
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay Top Flight
Starters:Baker, Reyna, Farnsworth, Piazza, Raynor, Bondz, Guggenheim, Synclair*, Cavanaugh, Liebowitz, Partridge
ReservesLamar, Markus, Canoe, Tahara, Pontius
Sponsor:Laketown Lumber
Nickname(s):Purple Crosses
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:3rd Erste Liga
Team InfoThe only new kids on the block this season after two the year before. About to lose their top flight virginity the team from the other side of Laketown has not really been as famous as some other recent promotee’s but they sure have a flair and love for the game. There is no doubt they will also create a great rivalry for the rival-less Rangers. One can hope they only stay around long enough to do so.

Laketown Rangers

Ground:Stadium on the Lake 90,000
Manager:Jose Williams
Colors:Blue, Blue and More Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Cataguay, Denver, Flag, Vlies, Finnigan, Grgic**, Sanders, Saracin, Rosseau*,**, Rolston, Pavelski**
Reserves:Toraven, Piper, Suchomel, Mathers, Weaver
Sponsor:Laketown Police Academy
Nickname(s):Rangers
Offseason Moves:Bought LM Frano Grgic from Mynatar club Lokomotiv Ostrava, Mynatar Midfielder Libor Suchomel from the CSDA Decraa Academy. Bought LF Jace Rolston from Sparta F.C and GK Carol Cataguay. Bought LB Jordan Denver.
Last Season Finish:1st
Team Info It was another championship run for the Laketown Rangers. A second in three years of play. Now the Rangers though are more prone to have that target on their back. But in Rosseau we trust is the cry all around Laketown. The Saugeain international continues to show a promise that only the men in Laketown could find, and now he is not only a leader in Laketown but he continues to be good for the Saugeais national team.

Los Riosa Monstas

Ground:Gangsters Park 99,000
Manager:Greg Loshie
Colors:Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:High
Expectations: High Middle Pack
Starters:Walcott, Fasnacht, Sanderson, LaRue, Lee, Overland**, Tyke, Newman, Baumgarten*, **, Clapton, McMicheal
ReservesPaterson, Green, Rikke, Mellinger, Ash
Sponsor:Taeshan Mob
Nickname(s):Monstas, Gangstas
Offseason Moves:Bought CB Joe Sanderson and CM Mathew Tyke from Mierton Manatees.
Last Season Finish:18th
Team InfoA below average season for the Monstas, but the shining stars were the two Polarians, Baumgarten and Overland. Who surprising have continued to not been tabbed for any international matches for Polar Islandstates, even though they continue to be the leaders of the team, and show very key leadership awards. Baumgarten himself continues to lead the scoring, and overland continues to surprise with his finesse.

Moresville FC

Ground:Moresville Brewery Park
Manager:Tom Gardener
Colors:Orange, and Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay top Flight
Starters:Fuller, Smoker, Lydie, Jaffacake, McAndrews, Hoover, Marx, Anderson, Salisbury, Smyth, Pallete*
ReservesWhite, Hart, Lane, Parul-Mundeke, Wembley
Sponsor:Moresville Brewery
Nickname(s):The Owls
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:5th
Team InfoA brilliant finish of fourth from Moresville in the last season, and with the only changed on the field being mostly tactical ones the Owls look better and better as the season comes. Perhaps they are even thinking championships. With the best defense in the league, which still has many years left in it, all the mutterings in my head seem to think one word…Dynasty.

Mt Ceabring Thunder

Ground:Mt Ceabring Athletic Complex 10,000
Manager:Micheal Lupin
Colors:Brown and Cream
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the cup. Who cares what else you do?
Starters:Hassel**, Scholes, Tyrony*, Oosten, Street, Martan, Shanahan, Jarvis**, Gorchakov**, Laravy, Zul’Zorander
ReservesFaulkner, Swanson, Walker, Veira, Baines
Sponsor:Kane Industries
Nickname(s):Thunder
Offseason Moves:Bought CM Drake Shanahan from Tar Pit and bought LB Roahd Scholes from 3.14.
Last Season Finish:10th
Team Info In a shocking turn of events the Thunder once again won the Fadron Pizza Cup last season. Their sixth win in 11 cups, the Thunder defeated a surprising Real Atlantea club in the final with Kyle Laravy scoring both of the goals. The Thunder continued a long tradition of winning cups, and doing just above mediocre in the actual league competition.

New Capetown Falcons

Ground:New Capetown Memorial Park 100,111
Manager:Ezekiel Wallace
Colors:Pink, Red and Grey
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Middle Pack
Starters:Obliski, Blake, Bates**, Ricard**, Smilles, van Tonder**, Tlumach, Connel, Sommers, Frank, Lacroix
ReservesJackson, Packer, Brady, Godula, Youndt
Sponsor:Falcon Brewery
Nickname(s):Falcons
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:6th
Team Info So close, yet so far. The Falcons almost qualified for the international scene last year, but still they had a great season. Now they will more than likely have a chance in the coming season to qualify for the international play if they repeat their performance of last year. They could ignite a fire in New Capetown that would really continue the explosion of football throughout the nation.

Ojian Orangemen

Ground:Ojian Principality Field 99,000
Manager:Matt Wanner
Colors:Orange and Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Mole, Fields, Whitehorse, Kuruchet, Broley, Hatfield, Nostradamus, Nagin**, Kreider, Portmanteau*, Walls
ReservesAnglo, Dragus, Pigeon, Mortimer, Kent
Sponsor:Orange Lake Benefit Society
Nickname(s):Orangemen
Offseason Moves:Bought RB Eusko Kuruchet from Sparta F.C.
Last Season Finish:15th
Team Info A sign of things to come, or an odd fluke. Ojian finished 15th last season and they continue to be below par. It’s more a lack of consistency than a lack of talent as the team continues to show levels of speed, but at the same time they have been overly unable to do anything with what they have.

Real Atlantea

Ground:The Wheelhouse 69,069
Manager:George Baggio
Colors:Aqua and Red
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Torje, Gordon, Quilez, Jackal, Wasser, Penterby*, Morse, Blitzen, Jordan, Glasgow, Wozniachi
ReservesBraint, Peters, Marks, Portia, Jannis
Sponsor:Poplaberg
Nickname(s):The Shepherds
Offseason Moves:Sold CF Jemmy Zaucier to Atlantea Hurricanes. Bought CAM Miranda Glasgow from Sparta F.C. Bought LB Coleby Gordon from Tar Pit. Bought CF Lee Wozniachi from X Island Metrostars.
Last Season Finish:13th
Team InfoAlmost breaking the top half last season Real Atlantea is getting close to being the better team from Atlantea. To be fair they might well be the better team from Atlantea, but they continue to have slumps randomly in the season, and to be the better team they would have to erase those slumps.

Real Chinchinhua

Ground:Real Stadium on the Lake 99,001
Manager:Mefusula White
Colors:Red and Purple
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Championship
Starters:Doller, Thomas, Sacha, Augustini**, Laake**, Berns, Houck, Palisades, Fullerton, Flowne*, Oberholtzer
ReservesChimes, Tarhito, McCoy, Micheal, Fawkes
Sponsor:Water Solutions of Lake Minor
Nickname(s):Chihuahuas
Offseason Moves:Bought GK Robbie Doller from Sparta F.C.
Last Season Finish:7th
Team InfoNot a lot of change in Chinchinhua over the summer, and rightly so. A good 7th placed season a year ago and they very well could continue to be the team they have at times been previously. They are an above average squad, and hopefully they can continue to show this.

SK Nethers United FC

Ground:Netherpia Municipal Stadion 40,000
Manager:Grant Valdez
Colors:Royal Blue and Light Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Finish Mid Table
Starters:Jones, de Huiyten**, Warrener, Fox, Oorschot, Ashley, Stern, Hopkins*, Hanson, Hiarchrates**, Murgatroyd
ReservesNewman, Johnson, Lamrogini, Wiemer, Alexander
Sponsor:Notzi Zombees
Nickname(s):Flying Dutchmen
Offseason Moves:Bought LM Grayson Ashley from Sparta F.C. Bought RM Anthony Hopkins from Taeshan City Miners
Last Season Finish:17th
Team InfoIt was a sad season once again for the men from Netherpia. It could have been worse though, and with a few key transfers over the summer the Dutchmen may very well be able to have a top half finish in the season to come.

Sleepy Hollow

Ground:Mort Field (69,000)
Manager:Joseph Anderson
Colors:Black, White and Gray
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Avoid relegation
Starters:Henry, Josef, Ricard, Aime, Douglas, Patrick, Drew, Barnaby, Johnson, Nancy, Crane
ReservesMartin, Kyle, Mathew, Fischer, Joshua
Sponsor:Ogilvy Real Estate
Nickname(s):Wranglers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:11th
Team InfoA solid first campaign topside for the Wranglers. 11th is a very good first season, and they got to stay well away from falling back to the second division like fellow promotes Tar Pit. Now they have to worry about staying around, and with their good solid base they have a very good chance to do so.

Tintown Terrapins

Ground:Tintown Stadium 23,000
Manager:Josiah Grant
Colors:White and Jade
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for Championship
Starters:Harengoty, Steinmetz, Gorzon, Palisades, Denver, Foster, Icicle, Dover*, Conors, Jones, Ortiz
ReservesPatrick, Marx, Axel, Quiroz, Hewitt
Sponsor:Tintown Ironworks
Nickname(s):Terrapins
Offseason Moves:Bought CAM Conor Conors from 3.14 and bought CB Gabriel Gorzon from Mierton Manatees.
Last Season Finish:12th
Team Info

Wiechester FC

Ground:Fadron Pizza Field at Wonder Park 250,000
Manager:Muazong Kuha
Colors:Red and Black
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete For Championship
Starters:Jourdain, Cline, Lantern, O’Leavy, Aimes, Goings, Martin, Ogilvy, Werner, Handy, Woods
ReservesHornet, Parneau, Walken, Benson, Carswell
Sponsor:Tae-Mart
Nickname(s):Ballers
Offseason Moves:Bought GK Jean-Michael Jourdain from 3.14. Bought CM Kaitlyn Martin. Bought CM Aaron Goings from Taeshan City Miners. Bought CF Doug Handy from Sparta F.C.
Last Season Finish:20th
Team InfoOh how the mighty have fallen. It has been 30 years since the second and last time the Ballers were champions of the Premier League. Not only have they fallen far from these days, but has changed. New jerseys, owners and a period down in the second division things have changed. But for the better, or for the worse, one wonders?

X Island Marauders

Ground:X Island Metropark 200,000
Manager:Jace Olverez
Colors:Black and White
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup Spot
Starters:Dumitrescu**, Miller, Styer, Corner*, Goober, Micheals, Bassini, Jacobs, Lewis, Perans, Olback
ReservesWatson, Torterra, Tyrell, Lampeter, Fly
Sponsor:Winehold Crematorium
Nickname(s):Marauders
Offseason Moves:Bought CF Fred Olback from X Island Metrostars.
Last Season Finish:14th
Team InfoA solid season at 14th the Marauders proved to be good enough to stay far away from relegation, but were not a threat on the top half of the league. They are a much better team though this year. One would think that they could very well have a change of fortune this year.

Yaton FC

Ground:Yaton Insurance Park 88,000
Manager:Peter Masque
Colors:Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters: Lewison, Bourdon, Hogweiler, Gass, Gartner, Fjord*, Smock, Harriet, Fields, Aines, Montenegro
ReservesFoxx, Iacoco, Toulanlan, Von Bois, Wyte
Sponsor:Yaton Insurance
Nickname(s):SeaMonsters
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:4th
Team InfoWow, just wow. When did Yaton get good again? Only their third year back up and they made it to the Globe Cup, and the skies the limit with this squad. They could be the team to return the cup to Yaton. 32 years ago they won their sole title, and now the team could very well be the successor to the team that won it so long ago.

Ying Jing Yankees

Ground:East Ying Park 223,000
Manager:Brad Farnsworth
Colors:Maroon and Royal Blue
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Barker, Fontaine, Fielder, Enderburry, Bison*, Dyatross, Perry, Foxx, Boxer, Potier, Porter
ReservesDesmond, Latrine, Viera, Johanson, Oliverry
Sponsor:East Ying Aquarium
Nickname(s):Yankees
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:2nd Erste Liga
[b]Team Info[/n the lob]Finally back in the premier league after a few seasons in the lower division the Yankees are looking like a solid team heading into their first season back topside. I’m not saying they will stay around long, but they like most of the teams have a fair shot.

Kishraeli Premier Liga - קישראל ליגה

The first season of the Kishraeli Premier League will kick off soon, a new league for a new nation wanting to prove itself in the world of football. Kishrael has always had a good history with football, it being one of the most popular sports of the country alongside gymnastics. The 12 teams picked for this new League were chosen based on their financial credibility, their skill, their reputation and their longevity, to provide a thrilling experience for every Kishraeli to watch. A 2nd League will be created in a few seasons, but not as of yet, so no teams will be relegated this season at least, the KFA believes that this will allow teams to get used to the new league and how it operates before they start competing for security from relegation.

The league will work as follows, a double round robin will be played, meaning a total of 22 games. After, the league will then split, the top 6 playing an additional double round robin, meaning a total of 32 games in the league season for some, and 22 for others. The club that finishes top will clinch a place in the prestigious Champions Cup, while the 3 runners up will earn a spot in the Globe Cup, a cup running alongside the Champions Cup for those teams that didn't quite make the cut. Kishraeli Premier League games are broadcast live on Sport 1, Sport 1 HD, and Sport 2 channels, with the big match of the week which is reserved to be shown by Channel 1 and Channel 1 HD network television. There is also a league review show on Saturday nights at Sport 5 channel. Abroad, rights to broadcasting in Hebrew are owned by The Kishraeli Network which broadcasts the matches in countries which have bought the rights to the international matches.

So, which teams will be competing? Let's take a little look:

The Astograthian Football League: Season 651 Preview
Sponsored by
Image

The eighteenth season of Astograthian football is up and ready to get started! Will Echegoyan FC retain their title, coming off a heartbreaking loss in the final of the Copa de Campeones? Will Astograth University cement their position? Will Ituraitz FC and Royal Rumiatzi reclaim the glory that was once theirs exclusively? Or will Urbizania Wanderers make themselves felt at last, having become the first-ever Astograthian world club champions? Whoever wins, the Astograthian league will for the first time ever feature a whopping four Champions' Cup spots, by virtue of its surprising first place in the UICA rankings – which opens the door for a number of clubs to at last break onto the Globe Cup scene.

Transfers
- Eddie Barlow (Slembana) from Sporting Iturributa (Iturributa) to Echegoyan FC
- Vladimir Beschastyn (Chetkosk) from Royal Rumiatzi to Blue Mountain Range
- Cuco (Vielha), released from his contract with Ituraitz FC
- Tristan Desmond (Starblaydia) signed by Royal Rumiatzi as a free agent
- Aintôrthea Durosea (Valanora) signed by Royal Rumiatzi as a free agent
- Laborious Hawk (Valanora) signed by Urbizania Wanderers as a free agent
- Ostoja Maric (Mytannion) from 1896 Ebor (MYT) to Ituraitz FC
- Tartalo Maruri from Iturributa United (Iturributa) to Gortz United
- Wilson Prieto (Cafundéu) from Royal Rumiatzi to Gortz United
- Alexei Razov (Mytannion) from Sporting Iturributa (Iturributa) to Gortz United
- Baudouin Richelieu (Saugeais) from South Factory to Echegoyan FC
- Lester Sutton (Civil Citizenry) of Ituraitz FC, retired from football
- Fabián Taggliafico (Seleucius) from Royal Arexa to The Army Club
- Yaromir Uspensky (Mytannion) from Pakhtakor Trunca (MYT) to Urbizania Wanderers
- Josef Vitek (Mytannion) from Atletik Thessia (MYT) to Royal Rumiatzi
- Yurpá Mêndêlöínçêl (Farfadillis) from Ferdullaele FC (FFD) to Oyardo FC
- Alexis Zeljeznicar (Polar Islandstates) from Franz Josef Young Boys (PIS) to South Factory

Once again, the Astograthian transfer window was quite active, with a large influx of players and, oddly, none going out save for the release of Cuco from Ituraitz FC. In the internal market, out-of-favour Chetkoski defender Vladimir Beschastyn will be rounding out his career with a spell at Blue Mountain Range, where his talents should fit right in, while Saugeain starlet Baudouin Richelieu escapes the sinking ship of South Factory to sign for defending champions Echegoyan FC, who also secured the transfer of Slembanan striker Eddie Barlow from Sporting Iturributa. Fabián Taggliafico, faded Seleucid striker, moves from Royal Arexa to the more stable Army Club.Veterans Wilson Prieto and Alexei Razov join Dei Ormache's ambitious project to make Gortz United a powerful team; more on that later.

Mytanars, once an essential component of any footballing weekend, have returned in force with the signings of new and exciting young players on behalf of the top clubs. Wingers Ostoja Maric and Josef Vitek join Ituraitz FC and Royal Rumiatzi, respectively, whereas forward Yaromir Uspensky has been assigned to the youth squads of Urbizania Wanderers but is being regarded as one of their future stars. Teenaged Polarian Alexis Zeljeznicar joins the relegated South Factory, largely due to the influence of newly arrived investors BlockCom. Yurpá Mêndêlöínçêl makes history by becoming the first Farf to play in Astograthian following his signing by Oyardo FC, who have splashed out on him in a bid to shoot up the table. Tristan Desmond likewise becomes the first Starblaydi in the First Division, although he will spend some time yet in the Royal Rumiatzi youth setup.

However, all of these pale in comparison to the the two signings carried out first by Urbizania Wanderers and then by Royal Rumiatzi. Finding himself without a club and allured by the Champions' Cup win, none other than Valanora's Laborious Hawk has joined the Wanderers, and is now without a doubt the most famous footballer to have plied his trade here. Not to be outdone, the Knights shortly announced their own shock signing in the form of winger Aintôrthea Durosea, another immortal legend of the Vanorian game. Both become the first World Cup winners to compete in the Astograthian league, and according to the bookies their clubs now have the best odds of coming away with the trophy.

First Division

ImageImage
Echegoyan FC
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Silanes Park (55,140)
Colours: White and green striped shirt, green shorts and socks
Honours: 2 Leagues (644, 650); 1 Royal Cup (645)
Manager: Garoa Larzondo
Lineup: Mikelatz Elizalde; Soter Borunda, Aurelio Seriesta, Bikendi Medrano, Raitin Eneriz; Ilixo Akutain, Iosif Tarapkin (C), Iban Bachiondo, Manex Urrutia; Salum Merec, Kauldi Isasmendi
Shirt Sponsor: Yogutz (Astograthian dairy products)
Season 650: Champions
Notes: Defying all predictions and expectations, criticised manager Garoa Larzondo rallied his men to win their second league title. They carried their good form to the Copa de Campeones final, where a gutwrenching loss to none other than Iturributa United denied them their first international title. Though they continue to field a strong team and have moved into a large new venue built for World Cup 62, a repeat win in the First Division is no easier than the last, especially with old faces and the new world champions threatening from below...

ImageImage
Urbizania Wanderers
Hometown: Urbizania
Ground: Cherketzo Arena (34,500)
Colours: All dark green kit
Honours: Champions' Cup 43, 1 Royal Cup (643)
Manager: Edorta Urrustoy
Lineup: Urgutz Martinena; Guðmundur Olsson, Giro Ekenarro, Yokin Arizmande, Hitzeder Kareaga; Iulian Finnibaturinn, Edwardo Baez, Felix Zajaczek, Yaizki Alaberri (C), Laborious Hawk; Ikatz Ansotegi
Shirt Sponsor: Farautoo (Polarian vehicle manufacture)
Season 650: 2nd
Notes: Nobody expected it, but it happened. The one major Astograthian team to have never won the league - despite finishing second three times – left the likes of FKM, East Franz Athletic, Jan Mayen Islanders, Yuba United and Hondo FC in their wake to become the very first Astograthian world champions, winning the 43rd edition of the UICA Champions' Cup. A monumental achievement that has elevated the First Division to first place in the UICA rankings, earned Wanderers recognition, attracted Vanorian legend Laborious Hawk to Urbizania and placed them as the top contenders to win the coming season. After many frustrating seasons, Edorta Urrustoy has earned his place as a world-class manager. He has only to cement it with a title win; will Wanderers win at last or will they buckle under the pressure?

ImageImage
Ituraitz FC
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All red kit
Honours: 4 Leagues (636, 641, 642, 647); 5 Royal Cups (637, 640, 641, 646, 649); 1 Ides of March Cup (641)
Manager: Ichaso Chapitel
Lineup: Machin Logegaray; Bardol Oiskonta, Edorta Garro, Larendi Berruet, Dima Petersen; Fantasia Cecile-Marie, Ikatz Alberro, Itzeder Unzueta, Anixi Eturaspe; Tomas Aer, Soter Sarlange (C)
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Season 650: 3rd
Notes: Ituraitz FC have a very good team, its only standout weakness being the defense and the age of some of its key pieces – namely Sarlange, Unzueta and to a lesser extent Aer. They've prepared themselves adequately however; Ostoja Maric and Alphonse Richelieu await their turn along with homegrown talent. They can yet run away with the title, but another third place or thereabouts seems more likely, especially with the replacement of Domeka Iriarte by former Oyardo FC boss Ichaso Chapitel.

ImageImage
Royal Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Knights' Stadium (70,000)
Colours: White shirt, dark blue shorts and socks
Honours: 5 Leagues (634, 635, 637, 643, 648); 2 Royal Cups (634, 644); Aeropag Football Invitational 22
Manager: Norman Kerrick
Lineup: Cheru Larretape (C); Urtzi Galard, Echepare Zuleta, Dion Jantot, Váradi Szemere; Aintôrthea Durosea, Galeano, Bartosz Slusarski, Vladimir Konovalov; Ellis Elsmvikur, Harold Nehafsaim
Shirt Sponsor: Torstebank (Blockhead banking)
Season 650: 4th
Notes: Royal Rumiatzi aren't particularly pleased with last season's result and are piling the pressure on Kerrick. With the signing of Vanorian winger Aintôrthea Durosea, they have quite probably the best squad in the league and are the top title candidates alongside Wanderers. Will that be enough to come away with a record sixth title or will their eternal favouritism be a disadvantage again?

ImageImage
Astograth University
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Arritzola (36,350)
Colours: White and light blue halved shirt, light blue shorts and white socks
Honours: 1 League (649); 2 Royal Cups (648, 650)
Manager: Xuban Barrutia
Lineup: Argider Gorriaran; Burni Beyaitz, Haitz Maistegi, Leheren Ubago, Efraín Vizcaíno; Andrey Antić, Inguma Sapano, Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria (C), Leizarraga Lukuix; Alejandro Martinuccio, Tilford Quirin
Shirt Sponsor: Astek (Astograthian electronics)
Season 650: 5th
Notes: There was a reversal of places last season, Echegoyan winning the title while University slumped to fifth. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what went wrong, though perhaps it has to do with the centre midfield losing its lustre. Champions' Cup qualification is certainly attainable, but they don't look in form to challenge for the top anymore.

Athletic Club Olarria
Hometown: Olarria
Ground: North Point Stadium (44,270)
Colours: Claret shirt with sky blue hoop, claret shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Eate Orkiola
Lineup: Alarabe Galayarde; Luken Iturricha, Irachio Chasko, Maurin Bayar, Anton Axpuru; Ion Arreta, Urgutz Belarte (C), Anartz Alutziza, Yakes Marichalar; Adon Aburto, Asentzio Sagastizabal
Shirt Sponsor: Barrertze (Astograthian tourism services)
Season 650: 6th
Notes: Athletic Club Olarria clung on fiercely to its sixth place on the table, and should they do it again they will find themselves participating in the Globe Cup for the first time. Needless to say, they're quite excited for this and for their refurbished stadium, placing a lot of faith in their new Iturributan international Adon Aburto to take them forth.

ImageImage
Athletic Club Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Gotorlekua (42,000)
Colours: Red shirt with white cross, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Alar Martikorena
Lineup: Echepare Larrea; Cherran Ukio, Ixona Unamunzaga (C), Kelmen Dazarola; Ayert Bidorreta, Ayoro Barinaga, Erramun Guza, Alots Osamiz; Loramendi Arregi, Eguzki Berriex, Lartaun Echaspe
Shirt Sponsor: Rumikola (Astograthian soft drinks)
Season 650: 7th
Notes: They've had a rough time, but Athletic Club Rumiatzi is at last going up in this world and if they can retain their seventh position they'll enter their maiden Globe Cup. New strikers in the form of Loramendi Arregi and Champions' Cup winner Eguzki Berriex should bring more life into the most notorious aspect of the club's game, while in centre midfield Ayoro Barinaga continues to mature into a terrific footballer,

ImageImage
The Army Club
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: 18th March Stadium (21,000)
Colours: Dark red shirt, blue shorts and dark red socks
Honours: None
Manager: Gilamu Izagirre
Lineup: Naxil Bayarena; Urki Yarza, Petri Urdanibia (C), Kaxen Ondoro, Aitzol Narbon; Eusko Lachondo, Botzayoriz Doxagart, Oroitz Delsupexhe; Zigor Apa, Tzemeno Tamborenea, Fabián Taggliafico
Shirt Sponsor: Mansley Systems (Euran heavy weaponry)
Season 650: 8th
Notes: Somehow, the perennialy relegation-threatened Army Club clicked and achieved a respectable mid-table finish last season. Should they do one better they'll gain a coveted spot in the Globe Cup, to which end they've signed faded but still formidable forward Fabián Taggliafico, once a star at Ituraitz FC.

ImageImage
Gesterlake FC
Hometown: Gesterlake
Ground: Castle Hill (38,630)
Colours: Yellow shirt, dark blue shorts, yellow socks
Honours: None
Manager: Chachu Larreburo
Lineup: Astigar Barrueta; Hitz Oniederra, Artzeiz Barbarea, Yuli Soroko, Loren Grakiarena; Orti Ona, Edorta Irazogi, Tipi Lafarga (C), Inko Alurralde; Peli Echetore, Sendoa Irigiben
Shirt Sponsor: Dukomm (Astograthian telecommunications)
Season 650: 9th
Notes: Gesterlake are slowly but surely cementing their place in the top flight, responding to their status as one of the most popular teams in the country. Without a standout squad, manager Larreburro has developed strong bonds of teamwork that have the club as one of the most consistent. Peli Echetore and Astigar Barrueta are the top men, not exactly household names but well known for having done the rounds in the league and occasionally the national team.

ImageImage
Lermendia FC
Hometown: Lermendia
Ground: Itzarrak Sporting Ground (21,450)
Colours: White and green hooped shirt, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Arkaitz Goyenola
Lineup: Erlantz Galechaga; Dei Zengotita, Larendi Goriz, Mendebal Linzoain, Pagomari Tsamudio; Berdaitz Ide, Lon Pildayn, Orkatz Otaiza (C), Gastea Urrestilla; Bidaurre Urritz, Urgutz Salaber
Shirt Sponsor: Lantzia (Astograthian luxury vehicles)
Season 650: 10th
Notes: Their captain has retired and they've lost their star striker, so things aren't very rosy in Lermendia at the moment. With a modest squad, they'll have to work hard to maintain themselves in tenth place, perhaps even to avoid the dreaded relegation.

ImageImage
Royal Association
Hometown: City of Iturributa
Ground: Unity Stadium (33,500)
Colours: Black and white striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Egoi Barrenechea
Lineup: Ixona Zarandona; Aitor Gurucharri, Aletsander Burkua, Endira Elichagaray, Tartalo Oyaneder; Otsoa Ibarlukia, Chordon Endara, Aurre Areche, Echepare Eskarain; Uhin Seberio, Donotzia Mendaza (C)
Shirt Sponsor: Royal Bank (Astograthian banking)
Season 650: 11th
Notes: Association defiantly remain as the only Iturributan club in the Astograthian Football League, causing a political and logistical nightmare. As far as the actual football goes, they've handled themselves quite well in the First Division so far, but will have to be quick and smart in upping its game in the face of expanded UICA spots.

ImageImage
Ituraitz Victory
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All blue kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (639)
Manager: Soin Azkue
Lineup: Aurken Krestia (C); Dunixi Dibar, Iturri Samalbide, Itziar Amiso, Galoer Urruchua; Wolfgang Sandberg, Bernat Lateche, Loiola Muhaburu, Ekhi Subies, Lope Guesamburu; Loren Dornaletze
Shirt Sponsor: Petromok (Astograthian petrol)
Season 650: 12th
Notes: Ituraitz Victory continued its tradition of wildly inconsistent performance with a twelfth-place finish, only a few points from relegation. They have the players to achieve much more, and this could well be Soin Azkue's last season in charge if he doesn't guide them to a respectable table position At least they seem to have solved their striker issue, Loren Dornaletze proving as reliable as he was at Astograth University.

ImageImage
Blue Mountain Range
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Ximun Orieta Sporting Ground (34,000)
Colours: All light blue kit
Honours: None
Manager: Bizi Boutayre
Lineup: Yoritz Suastegi; Edur Raizabal, Vladimir Beschastyn, Mogel Anies (C), Perucho Izandizaga, Iratze Ixuel; Hannibal, Ruisko Zaldinbar, Baleren Uruztarzu, Marcel Sanderskye; Tibalt Kereyasu
Shirt Sponsor: Notzi Zombees (Taeshani energy drinks)
Season 650: 13th
Notes: Blue Mountain Range, accustomed to the mid-table, tiptoed on the very fine line of relegation last season. They've made up for Soin Boneta's departure with the signing of Chetkoski star Vladimir Beschastyn, whose age has made him unsuitable for Royal Rumiatzi but made him perfect for BMR. They can yet dream with Globe Cup qualification, but not the way they ended up playing last season.

ImageImage
Oyardo FC
Hometown: Oyardo
Ground: Sahatsakbasoa (14,100)
Colours: White and red striped kit, black shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Atzeden Lusa
Lineup: Polentzi Gayategi; Ximun Yaka, Adame Ordozkoiti, Eskuin Subies, Oihan Elizabaraz; Yurpá Mêndêlöínçêl, Atze Aliza, Oinatz Bustinse, Peli Alzu (C); Burutzagi Sagastizabal, Ximun Sese
Shirt Sponsor: MaksiMerk (Astograthian supermarkets)
Season 650: Second Division champions
Notes: Having bounced right up from the second tier, Oyardo are looking at a mid-table finish and possibly a Globe Cup spot. To that end they've recuited Yurpá Mêndêlöínçêl from the unlikely Ferdullaele FC. Manager Atzeden Lusa has been hired to replace Ichaso Chapitel, now at Ituraitz FC, and although his track record isn't the best he has been handed a reliable team that should achieve a good finish.

ImageImage
Gortz United
Hometown: Gortz
Ground: Ibakultzara Stadium (10,650)
Colours: All purple kit
Honours: None
Manager: Gaur Arambilet
Lineup: Anixi Osma; Luar Berriatua, Tartalo Maruri, Luk Agirrebalzategi, Benat Sorrekieta; Moncho Gochikoa, Lerchun Aragor, Alexei Razov, Wilson Prieto, Tartalo Achaga; Dei Ormache
Shirt Sponsor: Henrik (Polarian banking)
Season 650: 2nd in Second Division
Notes: In what is perhaps one of the most ambitious personal projects Astograth has ever seen, legendary footballer Dei Ormache has sought to thank the team where he first broke through by guiding it to glory not just on the pitch – where his 39 years of age limit him considerably – but also financially, investing a large part of his fortune in the club. Wealthy Polarian sponsors, a new stadium is being planned and footballers of domestic renown have been attracted to create a formidable squad. Gaur Arambilet, beloved former journeyman forward, has been hired as manager ahead of Ormache's final season of professional football.

ImageImage
Miners FC
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: The Lieutenant (14,700)
Colours: Red shirt with black stripe, black shorts, red socks
Honours: None
Manager: Gito Pizan
Lineup: Bela Darkibel; Koldo Berrataran, Tzeledon Onreita, Marchot Gayarre, Ixidor Totorikaguena; Lauaxeta Urgangarin (C), Hibai Otal, Ostots Etchehoun, Arnalt Eskoz; Kimetz Iramay, Endura Bezaken
Shirt Sponsor: Korlatza (Astograthian mining)
Season 650: 3rd in Second Division
Notes: Funded by the wealthy mining companies that were behind the establishment and growth of Echegoyan, Miners FC enjoys a great deal of popularity and will be doing all they can to remain in the First Division under the guidance of a former star of Sporting Iturributa, the Erathi Gito Pizan. In his first managerial job, he has already promoted Miners; being honest it's likely he'll be trying to do the same next season.

As per these three posts, Licentian qualifiers to UICA competitions are:

The West Zirconian National League:

Division One:

  10  Redwood Forest            38  14   7  17   73   79   -6   49
  11  Wacker Neustadt           38  14   6  18   60   76  -16   48
  12  Bradley Swifts            38  11  12  15   76   84   -8   45
  13  Hyland Town               38  12   9  17   63   79  -16   45

  16  Etruria                   38  11   9  18   72   93  -21   42

  20  Tîm Cymru                 38   8   7  23   70  116  -46   31

Spare a thought for Banks, who could only manage third despite the highest away win (9-2 at Greenwood Athletic) and not only the highest home win of the season, but the first ever double-digit score in the WZNL (10-1 at home to Broxton and Marrs Hill)

And spare a thought for Bradley Hornets, who somehow managed to finish a very disappointing ninth.

  23  Stanley Athletic          44   4   8  32   62  127  -65   20

Interestingly, Moorcroft City finished in fourth despite being on the losing side in the highest-scoring match (6-4 at Oglesby United) and suffering the highest away defeat of the season (7-0 at the McLaughlin Islands).

Division Three South:

Code: Select all
Pos  Team                       P   W   D   L   GF   GA   GD  Pts

  17  Wolverton Town            32   5   7  20   40   89  -49   22

So Greenwood Athletic and Tîm Cymru are relegated from Division One, to be replaced by Houghton Hawks and Grimshaw Town. The playoff will be between St. Martin Athletic, Elwell Harriers, West Coast Angels and Houghton Eagles, potentially bringing together all three Houghton teams in Division One.

Eastham Panthers, PJS Pyhäsaari and Calland and Smallshaw are relegated from Division Two, to be replaced by Oakley, Ainsworth and Wells and the winner of the playoff between Plimley Stallions and Newby Town.

Global Qualifiers:

Champions Cup: Stanley United, Mort Park.
Globe Cup: Banks, Houghton Kestrels, Markham.
SBCC: Houghton Hawks, Grimshaw Town, Elwell Harriers, West Coast Angels.
Copa de Campeones: Stanley United.

Another season of delight for Navel FC ended with Los Rojos lifting the WIPL trophy for the second time in a row, although they had stiff fight coming from Eastburg United, who, unhappy with being left outside UICA berths the last season, tried to regain their lost style and offered an interesting challenge to NFC, however, the First Champs had to settle for second place and a spot in the Champions' Cup preliminary rounds after missing on the title by 2 points. As for Globe Cup qualifiers, Atlantis further cemented their position as the perennial third-placer by finishing this season in third place, like the other n previous seasons, while the most popular team in the whole nation, the Sharks, disappointed all their faithful by ending in a worrisome fourth place, with the Greencaps finishing in fifth place and leaving the Red Diamonds at the doors of the Globe Cup, the latter having collected two points less than the former.

In the lower half of standings, we've got Náutico, who defended Puerto Viejo's honour (sullied by Vieux-Port FC and their relegation not-so-long ago) decently, finishing seventh with the same points as LRD, Union FC were unable to build up on their successful season last time (which allowed them to take part in their first Globe Cup) and finished eighth, Halcones, Sparta Navel, and Athletic Victoria did just enough to be safe from relegation, and the Dolphins were a complete mess this season and got relegated without any doubt.

The Whirl Islands Campeonato Nacional Season 19

A new Campeonato Nacional season is over, and Vieux-Port FC managed to put an end to two seasons of anger and sorrow for their fans by winning the Campeonato this season and getting promoted to the Premier League, while the recently-relegated Racing de Terranova had their hopes crushed by having an awful last third of season, having to settle for a SBCC berth. Lagoon Crocodiles were involved in an interesting fight for Racing for second place, but eventually they lost on head-to-head record against them and would be doomed to third place, while Olimpia showed us another sample of their irregularity with a great season and a fourth place which gives them the last SBCC berth given to Whirl Islands. We're expecting them to crash next season anyways...
