Commander’s League

TQCC – Racaw Sultan
GC – Mertag FC, Tyrrin Royale, Coranto FC

Racaw Sultan came out of the season on top, lead by right back Cathal Donaghy, midfielder Stuart Cheek, and striker Phillip Beggs. They had never won a Commander’s League trophy in the previous era, and their fans are certainly delighted at Redgold Oil Dome. Manager Simon Topley signed a new 4 year deal with the club, as Racaw ownership will want to keep him around as long as possible.

Royale were the hottest team at the end of the season, winning their final 7 matches to take third in the Commander’s League. Andy McCaw and Anthony McSweeny were brilliant over the second half, and things are looking up for Royale heading into next season.

Sailors were one of the biggest surprises of the season. Lead by midfielder Eoghan Havern and striker Ferreirinha, they beat Raiders and tied Sultan to keep things interesting in the race for tournament qualification spots.

Many predicted Mariners to win the league this year, but they ended up out of even a Globe Cup spot. Renowned manager Ally Wilson was sacked after failing to perform even after spending a league-high $30.97 million on the transfer market. Despite this, Matthew Reid still won the Young Player of the Year Award.

Kinitar Premier Division
Season 2 Review

Following the drama of an exciting first season, the entire nation was raring to go as the Kinitar Football League entered its second edition. The FFK had made the decision to hold a super cup between the league and cup winners, but Mi'ato had rather spoilt those plans by winning both last year, and so the league runners-up, Litora United, were invited to compete for the curtain-raiser. Litora had been in steady decline all summer, and it showed as they slumped to a 0-3 defeat, mainly thanks to two goals from Malpomir.

On with the season, then. All three promoted teams were to lose on the opening day, something which they would have to get used to over the rest of the season. Fireworks would be flaring as early as MD3 when Mi'ato City welcomed their hated rivals to Stadion Orašii. Despite taking a 2-0 lead through Sabčot and Royce, they couldn't hold on, and Mi'ato forced their way back into the game to win 3-2. Violent scenes followed as City fans hurled missiles into the away end and the visiting fans responded in kind, necessitating a police intervention. Mi'ato would go on to win seven in a row before their charge was halted by a 0-1 defeat away to Inovita, while City bounced back commendably - they wouldn't lose another league game for the next three months. The big surprise in the opening rounds was certainly Chyri, who put in a string of fine performances, including a 6-2 win away at Ajbental, to keep pace with the big two. By MD10, they would actually top the table, thanks to Mi'ato's shock collapse away to Paleu - they lost 5-2. AFC Damaciu also impressed in the early weeks, especially with new signing Gordon du-Lusavik chipping in seven goals in ten games to fire them up the table. Down at the other end, the new boys found it hard to adjust to life in the Premier Division. Dinamo Leninberg in particular made a shocking start, with only one point (0-0 vs. Fule) and two goals to their name, and Kasmenai were perched just above them following some poor performances, including shipping five against Damaciu. Dřukahir, for their part, had acquitted themselves reasonably well, and put in a fine performance in a 3-2 win over Spartak, who themselves had made an abysmal start to the campaign.

Mi'ato City would very soon find themselves on the summit thanks to Mi'ato. Their cross-capital rivals did them a favour by beating Chyri 2-1 at the Lumar Beqiri, allowing City to take top spot after they beat Damaciu by the same scoreline. While Mi'ato did for a while match pace with their rivals, they seemed determined to slip up, and a run of three games without a victory (including a humiliating 3-0 reverse at Avnani) seemed to hand City the initiative. But they weren't averse to the occasional slip-up themselves, given that a draw with 1. Maja and a narrow defeat to Fule left the title race wide open as the league entered its summer break*. At the suspension of play, a deeply entrenched top three was completed by Chyri, who had kept up with the big two. Despite setbacks like being held 0-0 by Kasmenai, Chyri held an eleven point lead over fourth-placed Paleu. Elsewhere, Damaciu's magnificent early form had more or less spluttered away, but they still held a respectable sixth place going into the break. By far the worst performance was that of Spartak. With one win in nineteen - and that against Leninberg, 1-0 - they sat rock bottom at the interval, six points adrift of safety. Club officials were at a loss to explain the collapse, and manager Lima Prinev would be sacked. Meanwhile, Leninberg themselves seemed desperate to make amends for their terrible early season form, and a run of four wins in seven games, including an impressive 2-1 victory against Serenberg, saw them pushing to climb out of the drop zone. In complete reverse, Leninberg's 1-0 win against Dřukahir capped a woeful run for the visitors of nine games without victory, something which helped them drop into the bottom three prior to the league pausing.

*The Kinitar league starts at the end of winter and runs through the year. There is a three-week summer break after 19 Premier Division games.

The teams returned fully refreshed after their three weeks in the sun, and Mi'ato promptly slumped to a 3-4 defeat at home to Ščela Rapide, which dropped them to third and handed City the initiative in the title race. Two weeks later, it was off to the Lumar Beqiri Stadium for the great rivals to meet once more. An ill-tempered affair was settled by Luka Sabčot, whose second-half strike gave City their first ever derby win and put nine points between themselves and Mi'ato. It looked as though the title was on its way across the capital. There would be blips, though. City lost 1-2 at home to Litora United, who have been in all sorts of financial trouble this season and have been floundering in mid-table for most of it. But by far the most embarrassing result for them was a home loss to Spartak - only their fourth win of the season as they looked to save their campaign. But Mi'ato couldn't take advantage, and remained some way behind their rivals, a 0-0 draw against Leninberg being a main contributor. So it was Chyri who were in second place, five points behind City, when they travelled to Stadion Orašii for a key clash in the title race. What followed was one of the Premier Division's most entertaining matches. The game swung one way and then the other before James Royce popped up four minutes from time to seal City's 4-3 victory, putting them eight points clear at the top. Chyri would lose their next seven games. Meanwhile, Fule were staking their claim for a Globe Cup spot with a stunning 5-2 win over nearest challengers Inovita and a hard-fought 2-0 victory over 1. Maja, who have slumped to the bottom half of the table after a fine first season. The race to escape the drop was also gathering pace, Spartak in particular recording wins over Tirinthea and Mi'ato City to haul themselves to within touching distance of safety. Dinamo Leninberg were also fighting, and recorded a 3-1 win over Chyri during the latter's awful run to give themselves a working chance of staying up. As for Dřukahir, their impressive early season form has completely deserted them. A run of eight straight defeats has left them rooted to the bottom of the table and looking doomed already. The teams above the drop zone aren't safe yet, either - Kasmenai have performed admirably so far, but they have to keep their wits about them if they're to stay up, as well as Ajbental and Junulara, who shouldn't be counting their chickens just yet.

There would be some minor blips for City in the title run-in - they were denied by a superb Damaciu defensive performance in a 0-0 draw - but they remained several points clear of their city rivals. At least, that is, until City fell to straight defeats against Avnani and 1. Maja. All of a sudden, the two great clubs were level on points with only five games to go. At first, they matched pace. Mi'ato would blink first, they could only draw with Avnani. There was daylight between the clubs once more. City would stumble next, their 1-1 tie against Ščela Rapide allowing Mi'ato to pull back onto level terms. Two games left, and the gap between the two clubs was paper-thin. Everything was set up for a thrilling finale. Or at least, it was, until City were beaten 3-2 by Ajbental in their penultimate game. Mi'ato pulled ahead. Three points clear and with only relegated, rock-bottom Dřukahir to play, they had one hand (and four fingers) on that trophy. Just below those two, Chyri's abysmal run had cost them any slim chance they had of troubling the big two, but they had made sure of a Globe Cup spot at least, with a 0-0 draw against Kasmenai being the result which confirmed their entry into the competition. Behind them, four or five clubs battled for the final qualification place, and with the holders of fourth spot changing almost every week, who would actually get there remained unclear - although, Fule staked the best claim to a place, and as the final day dawned, they held a three point advantage over Tirinthea. Down at the bottom, Dřukahir were actually making a fight of it. They set off on a run of five games unbeaten, but ultimately, it was a case of too little, too late, and they began planning for life in the B-League after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tirinthea on MD36. For everyone else, there was still something to play for. Spartak's late-season charge had actually lifted them out of the bottom three for a couple of weeks, until they then dropped back into it when they were beaten 3-1 by Kasmenai in a crucial three-pointer. Kasmenai, indeed, found themselves in serious danger of the drop after Dinamo Leninberg's 1-0 win over expired Dřukahir allowed them to leapfrog the Phoenix into that vital 17th place.

20 Dřukahir 37 6 7 24 33 63 −30 25

So it was D-Day for the Kinitar clubs. At the top, Mi'ato travelled to the league's basement club, Dřukahir, fully aware that even a point would secure them the league title for the second successive seasons. Back in the capital, Mi'ato City met Fule, who were themselves scrapping for a place in the Globe Cup - defeat to City could very well let in Tirinthea to snatch the final qualification spot from them. Tirinthea, meanwhile, travelled to Ajbental with the hope of City doing them a massive favour.

In the contest to stay in the division, Dinamo Leninberg made the trip to Ščela to face Rapide. A win would ensure Leninberg's survival, and a draw or even a loss could still be enough, depending on other results - specifically, Kasmenai's clash with Serenberg. Spartak Rexitova journeyed to Avnani fuelled mainly by hope. If the right combination of results came in, they would indeed stay up, but the likelihood of that was slim at best.

At the Orašii, it was the typical blood-and-thunder clash of teams with everything to fight for. The news filtered through that Tirinthea had taken an early lead against Ajbental, and shortly afterwards, Lupan Mihalcič stormed in to put City 1-0 up. Fule were out of the top four, but City were powerless to affect their own destiny. But the visitors came back with intent, and two goals from Dalča Nurmanov, signed in the summer from ailing Litora, were enough to turn the game to Fule's advantage. City weren't done yet, and a stunning free-kick from talisman striker Luka Sabčot hauled them level shortly before half-time. Meanwhile, at the Arena Coezeni in Dřukahir, the hosts seemed determined to go out with their heads held high. A staunch defensive performance was enough to deny Kovačev et al, and they went in at the break goalless.

In the relegation scramble, Leninberg had gone in at half-time tied 1-1 with Avnani. With Kasmenai's clash with Serenberg still deadlocked at 0-0, a point is all Dinamo needed at that point to stay up - but Kasmenai had a superior goal difference. Despite being battered by the Serenberg front line all game, they had held firm, and 0-0 was outstanding given the circumstances. It wasn't good enough, though. They needed a win. While all this was going on, Spartak were losing their grip on Premier status. They had taken the early lead, but trailed 2-1 at the break. Their only hope was to turn the game around while hoping the other two teams lost. It wasn't looking good.

In the end, what looked like the deciding goal in the scrap at the bottom would be struck by Vadim Reneiči of Ščela Rapide. His strike midway through the second half looked to have consigned Leninberg to the drop, and it seemed like Spartak would be joining them - until, at least, Spartak rallied with two goals in the last fifteen minutes to haul themselves level on points with their relegation rivals. All eyes on Kasmenai, then, and their fragile defence, which was being torn apart time and time again by Serenberg's efficient attacks - but, try as they might, the visitors couldn't get that goal. It finished 0-0 and Kasmenai were safe, launching frenzied celebrations at a packed Ter Komunada. Leninberg were down, and so too were Spartak, despite a valiant last-gasp effort to save themselves.

Back in Mi'ato, things were heating up. Luka Sabčot had snatched his second of the game to make it 3-2 with about an hour gone, and since then, the game had been marked by some extremely violent challenges. Thanks to some astonishingly lenient refereeing, all 22 players stayed on the pitch. Time was ticking away, and then, with three minutes on the clock, a shockwave hit from the Coezeni. Dřukahir one, Mi'ato nil. The place erupted - City were just three minutes away from being crowned champions! Until, of course, Fule stormed back and equalised on the cusp of 90 minutes.

It was the turn of the blue-and-white clad fans in the away end of the Coezeni to begin their party. They were losing, but they had seen their hated rivals blow a nine-point lead, and now, with the championship a minute from their grasp, they'd blown that too. To make matters worse, talisman Luka Sabčot had been caught by one of those savage tackles and had to be stretchered off the pitch. Full-time, 1-0, then, and Dřukahir were relegated, but in style. Visiting Mi'ato fans stormed the field in celebration of their retained league title.

They didn't know City were still playing. Sabčot's injury had led to five minutes of additional time. Five minutes of hell for Fule, their penalty box resembling something akin to the Alamo in the dying stages. Corner to City. Even Marko Utkin, the goalkeeper, was upfield for this. The ball swung in, clipped a defender, Mihalcič threw himself at it, blocked, out to Royce, goal! Hammered in from all of two yards, and City are the champions! Now the party could really begin in the capital. The visitors also celebrated, as Tirinthea had been beaten, and so Fule will compete in the Globe Cup this season.

As a side note, it's said that the images of despairing Mi'ato fans on the Coezeni turf made some very entertaining viewing for City fans when they saw them...

The Astograthian Football League: Season 650 Preview
Sponsored by
Image

And now, for another prime-numbered season of Astograthian football, celebrating seventeen years of olive-green-tinted ball-kicking for no particular reason other than that the year 650 is a nice number on the Grand Duchy's calendar, here is the usual preview!

Transfers
- Ikatz Ansotegi from CR Submiria (Cafundéu) to Urbizana Wanderers
- Pirdassia Bawuah (The Pazhujeb Islands) released from her contract with Ituraitz FC
- Urgutz Belarte from Atlético Jutense (Cafundéu) to Athletic Club Olarria
- Abdoulaye Bocandé from Echegoyan FC to East Franz Athletic (Polar Islandstates)
- Fantasia Cecile-Marie (Yesopalitha) from Urbizania Wanderers to Ituraitz FC
- Iulian Finnibaturinn (Polar Islandstates) from FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS) to Urbizania Wanderers
- Agoztar Gorstiaga (Iturributa) from Urbizania Wanderers to Jan Mayen Islanders (Polar Islandstates)
- Hannibal (Antoletia) from South Factory to Blue Mountain Range
- Alejandro Martinuccio (Sargossa) from Sporting Iturributa (Iturributa) to Astograth University
- Alphonse Richelieu (Saugeais) from Oyardo FC to Ituraitz FC
- Fabián Taggliafico (Seleucius) from Urbizania Wanderers to Royal Arexa
- Felix Zajaczek (Polar Islandstates) from Solovetsky Monastery (PIS) to Urbizania Wanderers

This season's was a fairly active transfer window, with a good amount of wheeling and dealing. Two players returned to Astograthian shores from Cafundéu: Ikatz Ansotegi after a disastrous spell at CR Submiria and former Olibondeka captain Urgutz Belarte, after a lengthy stay at both Atlético Central and Atlético Jutense. They join second-line teams in Urbizania Wanderers and Athletic Club Olarria, taking on the burden of elevating them further. Two of the other international signings are both Polarian and both join Wanderers, presumably in a two-for-one deal. Defensive midfielder Iulian Finnibaturinn arrives from Surtsey Gulls with the hope of returning to the Terns, while Felix Zajaczek is set on furthering his short career as the replacement for Yesopalithan winger Fantasia Cecile-Marie, who has left for strong title candidates Ituraitz FC. Additionally, Sargossan forward Alejandro Martinuccio joins Astograth University from Sporting Iturributa.

Other internal transfers include the release of Pirdassia Bawuah from Ituraitz FC, Antoletian youngster from South Factory to Blue Mountain Range, Saugeain prodigy Alphonse Richelieu from the relegated Oyardo FC to Ituraitz FC and ageing Seleucid striker Fabián Taggliafico from Wanderers to Royal Arexa. The two outgoing transfers are headed for Polar Islandstate's Divisjon One, though to very different teams – Iturributan (and formerly Astograthian) international and Champions' Cup winner Agoztar Gorstiaga packs his bags for Jan Mayen Islanders, while the naturalised Abdoulaye Bocandé bids an emotional farewell to Echegoyan FC and heads to the powerful East Franz Athletic.

Legendary Astograthian striker Dei Ormache also deserves a mention, leaving Ituraitz at the age of 38 to reunite with his roots at Second Division side Gortz United, where he first took off as a gifted goalscorer.

Colours: White and light blue halved shirt, light blue shorts and white socks
Honours: 1 League (649); 1 Royal Cup (648)

Lineup: Argider Gorriaran; Burni Beyaitz, Haitz Maistegi, Leheren Ubago, Efraín Vizcaíno; Andrey Antić, Inguma Sapano, Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria (C), Leizarraga Lukuix; Alejandro Martinuccio, Tilford Quirin
Shirt Sponsor: Astek (Astograthian electronics)
Season 649: Champions
Notes: Astograth University are on cloud nine at the moment, having won a title that was completely unthinkable just a few years ago, when they were nought but a mediocre mid-table side that many claimed deserved no better than second-tier football. They've cleaned up their act, signed some truly excellent players and are now find themselves at the very height of Astograthian football with some of the best defensive football ever seen across the land. They may not maintain their form this coming season, but still, who would've thought Astograth University would ever be in this position

Royal Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Knights' Stadium (70,000)
Colours: White shirt, dark blue shorts and socks
Honours: 5 Leagues (634, 635, 637, 643, 648); 2 Royal Cups (634, 644); Aeropag Football Invitational 22
Manager: Norman Kerrick
Lineup: Cheru Larretape (C); Urtzi Galard, Echepare Zuleta, Dion Jantot, Váradi Szemere; Kauldi Ayatsbehers, Galeano, Bartosz Slusarski, Vladimir Konovalov; Ellis Elsmvikur, Harold Nehafsaim
Shirt Sponsor: Torstebank (Blockhead bank)
Season 649: 2nd
Notes: “Robbed” from the title by the relegated Ximun Orieta FC on the final matchday, Kaparaka were one miserable point away from securing their record sixth title. Attacking midfielder Anixi Eturaspe has moved to Ituraitz FC for a huge fee, bumping Polarian international Vladimir Konovalov into Kerrick's first-choice team, but otherwise the lineup is quite similar. With last season's form and a bit more luck they can easily come away as champions.

Urbizania Wanderers
Hometown: Urbizania
Ground: Cherketzo Arena (30,500)
Colours: All dark green kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (643)
Manager: Edorta Urrustoy
Lineup: Urgutz Martinena; Guðmundur Olsson, Giro Ekenarro, Yokin Arizmande, Hitzeder Kareaga; Iulian Finnibaturinn, Edwardo Baez, Felix Zajaczek, Yaizki Alaberri (C); Eguzki Berriex, Ikatz Ansotegi
Shirt Sponsor: Farautoo (Polarian vehicle manufacture)
Season 649: 3rd
Notes: Guided by Edorta Urrustoy, Wanderers have made progress by leaps and bounds, signing excellent players for cheap, attaining ever-improving results and then selling bits and pieces of their squad to more affluent teams so they can continue the cycle. They've yet to win a title that would cement their place at the top of Astograthian football, however, and unless they do so soon they could lose momentum and become the league's “almost men” - which nobody wants. This season's business includes the departures of winger Fantasia Cecile-Marie, striker Fabián Taggliafico and Agoztar Gorstiaga, and the retirement of Odon Karrikart, but Ansotegi is definitely a net improvement over Taggliafico and the Polarian duo of Finnibaturinn and Zajaczek shows lots of promise. Another top three finish is within their reach.

Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All red kit
Honours: 4 Leagues (636, 641, 642, 647); 5 Royal Cups (637, 640, 641, 646, 649); 1 Ides of March Cup (641)
Manager: Domeka Iriarte
Lineup: Machin Logegaray; Bardol Oiskonta, Edorta Garro, Larendi Berruet, Dima Petersen; Fantasia Cecile-Marie, Ikatz Alberro, Anixi Eturaspe; Tomas Aer, Soter Sarlange (C)
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Season 649: 4th
Notes: Ituraitz FC are the second richest club in the league, the second most successful and are growing tired of irregular performances despite having an extremely talented squad. Last season they managed to come away with the Royal Cup in a blockbuster final against Royal Rumiatzi, but unless they perform strongly this time around it could be curtains for long-time manager Domeka Iriarte; the board have given him everything he's asked for, including the very expensive signings of Fantasia Cecile-Marie, Anixi Eturaspe and Alphonse Richelieu, so unless he comes up with something his 17-year spell will be over.

ImageImage
Echegoyan FC
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Ximun Orieta Sporting Ground (34,000)
Colours: White and green striped shirt, green shorts and socks
Honours: 1 League (644); 1 Royal Cup (645)
Manager: Garoa Larzondo
Lineup: Mikelatz Elizalde; Soter Borunda, Aurelio Seriesta, Bikendi Medrano, Raitin Eneriz; Ilixo Akutain, Iosif Tarapkin (C), Iban Bachiondo, Manex Urrutia; Salum Merec, Kauldi Isasmendi
Shirt Sponsor: Yogutz (Astograthian dairy products)
Season 649: 5th
Notes: Overall, Garoa Larzondo hasn't convinced as successor of Gunutz Yaregi, and the board have handed him an objective upon which his job hinges: Champions' Cup qualification. Larzondo has responded by letting go club hero Abdoulaye Bocandé to East Franz Athletic and reinvested some of the money in his replacement Bikendi Medrano from Blue Mountain Range and the highly-rated right-back Raitin Eneriz from Ituraitz Victory. On paper, they are perfectly capable of attaining a top-two finish – as are several of the other big teams – but do they have the conviction to see themselves through?

ImageImage
Athletic Club Olarria
Hometown: Olarria
Ground: North Point Stadium (24,560)
Colours: Claret shirt with sky blue hoop, claret shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Eate Orkiola
Lineup: Alarabe Galayarde; Asier Irazu, Irachio Chasko, Maurin Bayar, Anton Axpuru; Ion Arreta, Urgutz Belarte, Yakes Marichalar; Xanti Olasagastia (C), Asentzio Sagastizabal
Shirt Sponsor: Barrertze (Astograthian tourism services)
Season 649: 6th
Notes: Eate Orkiola is a truly incredible manager, taking Olarria from a temporary slump in the second tier to a sixth-place finish on their return. One can only imagine what he can do with more proven players, and the board have made an extra effort to attract three big names this season: former FKM defender Anton Axpuru, former Olibondeka captain Urgutz Belarte and defensive midfielder Ion Arreta, who has at various stages of his career played for University, Wanderers and Royal Rumiatzi. At this stage, they would do well to retain their place in the table before thinking about moving for the Globe Cup.

ImageImage
Athletic Club Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Gotorlekua (42,000)
Colours: Red shirt with white cross, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Alar Martikorena
Lineup: Echepare Larrea; Cherran Ukio, Ixona Unamunzaga (C), Kelmen Dazarola; Ayert Bidorreta, Ayoro Barinaga, Erramun Guza, Alots Osamiz; Loramendi Arregi, Indartsu Errendasoro, Lartaun Echaspe
Season 649: 7th
Notes: Athletic Club Rumiatzi have surprised everyone in the past two seasons, rising above their usualy mediocrity to install themselves as a decent mid-table side, and for long enough to avoid being called a fluke. Though most of their players aren't exactly household names, they do enjoy some recognition at domestic level; Echepare Larrea kept in goal for Ituraitz and Echegoyan; Ixona Unamunzaga was a star at the youth national team level; the signature three strikers Arregi, Errendasoro and Echaspe are some of the most versatile Astograthian strikers in the league, and Ayoro Barinaga is an Erathi-made central midfielder with a growing talent and reputation.

ImageImage
Blue Mountain Range
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Ximun Orieta Sporting Ground (34,000)
Colours: All light blue kit
Honours: None
Manager: Bizi Boutayre
Lineup: Yoritz Suastegi; Soin Boneta, Edur Raizabal, Mogel Anies (C), Perucho Izandizaga, Iratze Ixuel; Hannibal, Ruisko Zaldinbar, Baleren Uruztarzu, Marcel Sanderskye; Tibalt Kereyasu
Shirt Sponsor: Notzi Zombees (Taeshani energy drinks)
Season 649: 8th
Notes: Three key pieces in the notorious BMR defense have moved on, Gorriaran to University, Medrano to Echegoyan and Tipi Arregi to a cozy retirement, but the Echegoyani outfit's academy is prolific and Boutayre has had little trouble finding replacements. Antoletian teenager Hannibal is his big signing of the season; arriving from South Factory, the defensive midfielder will get plenty of playing time and is expected to become a crucial piece along the team's central axis, along with Sanderskye and Uruztarzu. Antoher mid-table finish, or even higher, is attainable for BMR this season. Also worth noting they've switched their logo back to a more traditional design from the pre-Football League era, in accordance with a change in the club's corporate image.

ImageImage
Lermendia FC
Hometown: Lermendia
Ground: Itzarrak Sporting Ground (15,450)
Colours: White and green hooped shirt, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Arkaitz Goyenola
Lineup: Erlantz Galechaga; Dei Zengotita, Larendi Goriz, Mendebal Linzoain, Pagomari Tsamudio; Eguntzenti Urruzuno (C), Lon Pildayn, Orkatz Otaiza, Gastea Urrestilla; Adon Aburto, Urgutz Salaber
Season 649: 9th
Notes: Lermendia achieved a remarkable ninth place after returning from the second tier, made especially, an especially noteworthy accomplishment when their squad is not particularly gifted, to put it mildly. The retirement of centre-back Axular Arana and the sale of right-back Anton Axpuru could jeopardise their standing, but the fans don't panic; in the end it all comes down to Arkaitz Goyenola and his way of making do with not a whole lot.

ImageImage
Royal Association
Hometown: City of Iturributa
Ground: Unity Stadium (33,500)
Colours: Black and white striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Egoi Barrenechea
Lineup: Ixona Zarandona; Aitor Gurucharri, Aletsander Burkua, Endira Elichagaray, Tartalo Oyaneder; Otsoa Ibarlukia, Chordon Endara, Aurre Areche, Echepare Eskarain; Eneko Madariaga, Donotzia Mendaza (C)
Season 649: 10th
Notes: The First Division has not treated the lone remaining Iturributan club in the Football League very well, but Association have hung on stubbornly with their team of homemade players young and old. It isn't as simple as buying or selling for a club as traditional as them, who resisted professionalism for so many years; only two of Barrenechea's chosen first eleven have come through youth systems other than Association's world-class facilities, and it seems like they'll cling to that spirit even if it costs them top-flight football.

ImageImage
South Factory
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: The Foundry (37,710)
Colours: All yellow kit
Honours: None
Manager: Andoitz Arriaga
Lineup: Jaap Zuiverloon; Ostadar Gurina, Maurin Doynehard, Baleren Aresti, Iban Zarazua; Eyande Arroita, Lerchun Aragor, Balasi Pagadigorria, Yon Gayastegi (C); Baudouin Richelieu, Victor Brexio
Shirt Sponsor: Poplaberg (Polarian housing)
Season 649: 11th
Notes: South Factory just can't catch a break these days, hanging around the relegation zone and completely devoid of ideas despite having perhaps the most fanatical fanbase in the country and plenty of funding. It's hard to pin down what the problem is at the Foundry, because with the players they have they could be achieving much more.

ImageImage
The Army Club
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: 18th March Stadium (21,000)
Colours: Dark red shirt, blue shorts and dark red socks
Honours: None
Manager: Gilamu Izagirre
Lineup: Balesio Lanziego (C); Urki Yarza, Petri Urdanibia, Kaxen Ondoro, Aitzol Narbon; Eusko Lachondo, Eriz Larannaga, Oroitz Delsupexhe; Anchoka Bastegieta, Tzemeno Tamborenea, Yokin Achabal
Season 649: 12th
Notes: They've done it again! The Army Club play a dangerous game, but they play it better than anyone; they've been on the very edge of relegation for years now, evading it like master fullbighters time and again, but it's bound to catch up to them eventually. It's almost as exciting as the title race, seeing The Army Club play with fire like this – and they'll surely pull it off again, having about equal chances of going down as they have of moving up to the mid-table considering the quality at their disposal.

ImageImage
Ituraitz Victory
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All blue kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (639)
Manager: Soin Azkue
Lineup: Aurken Krestia (C); Dunixi Dibar, Iturri Samalbide, Itziar Amiso, Galoer Urruchua; Wolfgang Sandberg, Bernat Lateche, Loiola Muhaburu, Ekhi Subies, Lope Guesamburu; Loren Dornaletze
Season 649: 13th
Notes: Ituraitz Victory, meanwhile, cannot afford to be mucking around in the bottom of the table lest they become the butt of the joke in Ituraitz. Already repeteadly humiliated in the city derbies, they've lost their best player in Raitin Eneriz to Echegoyan but have signed a pair of proven players in former Gimnasia centre-back Itziar Amiso and striker Loren Dornaletze from Astograth University, who enjoyed his best years with Athletic Club Olarria.

ImageImage
Gesterlake FC
Hometown: Gesterlake
Ground: Castle Hill (38,630)
Colours: Yellow shirt, dark blue shorts, yellow socks
Honours: None
Manager: Chachu Larreburo
Lineup: Astigar Barrueta; Hitz Oniederra, Artzeiz Barbarea, Yuli Soroko, Izotz Ugaldea; Orti Ona, Edorta Irazogi, Tipi Lafarga (C), Dabi Linzuain; Peli Echetore, Sendoa Irigiben
Season 649: Second Division champions
Notes: Gesterlake make a triumphant return to the top flight and have secured themselves a strong enough team to survive for a while yet. Former youth internationalYuli Soroko and the iconic Ituraitzi keeper Astigar Barrueta are sure to add steel to the defense, while Peli Echetore and Sendoa Irigiben can be sure to provide goals at the other end despite their advancing age.

ImageImage
Royal Arexa
Hometown: Arexa
Ground: Goyaingerua Stadium (21,810)
Colours: All white kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (647)
Manager: Altzibar Echenarro
Lineup: Polentzi Gayategi; Alaon Osinalde, Luk Agirrebalzategi, Ekhe Urioste, Piarres Otadui; Tartalo Achaga, Beremando Eskibel (C), Marchelin Zorregieta, Ambe Anchustegi; Fabián Taggliafico, Loramendi Arregi
Season 649: 2nd in Second Division
Notes: Royal Arexa have some history in the First Division and even at international level, reaching the Cygnus Cup semifinals on one occasion. Befitting their privileged status amongst the usual promoted teams, they've invested heavily to add Ituraitz FC's winger Tartalo Achaga and journeyman Seleucid forward Fabián Taggliafico to an already strnng team. They can be expected to stay up.

ImageImage
Athletic Club Yungoitio
Hometown: Yungoitio
Ground: Haranekuiluna (16,160)
Colours: Red shirt with white cross, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Iaki Urrutia
Lineup: Naxila Bayarena; Zohiartze Andaburu, Mirande Elissondo, Soter Ezkoz, Teyo Eliz; Orain Beinatborde (C), Oihenarte Zabalzagaray, Mikelatz Algarte, Belche Goroztiza; Gaizkine Liroz, Silban Mendikoa
Season 649: 3rd in Second Division
Notes: Athletic Club Yungoitio's attempts are heroic, but frankly they'd have to play exceptionally well to avoid dropping back down immediately. Their squad is mainly nobodies and the 33 year-old Gaizkine Liroz, who spent too much of his career warming the bench for Sporting Iturributa. From such an unfavoured AC Yungoitio team sprung the very successful Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria, however, so perhaps they are worth keeping an eye on.

Taeshan Premier League Season 32 Preview

*Denotes Captains
**Denotes Foreigner
Atlantea Hurricanes

Ground:Atlantea Coliseum 590,000
Manager:Alexander White
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the League
Starters:Ehrhardt, Northcliff**, Fasnacht, Vanswoi*, Sebastian**, Malote**, Kleinfelters, Knickerbocker, Fitzgerald, Mupesh, Inmora**
ReservesLance, Bousaid, Raț**, Taft, Klassen, Webster, Lane
Sponsor:Atlantea Business Association
Nickname(s):Hurricanes, Canes
Offseason Moves:Bought LF Wanner Fitzgerald from Caché, Bought MI Alvin Webster from AC Quarant Xa’virt, bought ST Ivy Lane from Minutemen, and bought DF Giles Taft from X Island Metrostars.
Last Season Finish:8th
Team InfoA second solid season which ended with the Hurricanes just above the middle of the pack. Many wonder when the next time is they will actually be relevant to the Taeshani soccer scene. The team improved over the offseason with more striking power, yet in many ways they still are a ghost of what some of the Atlantea teams of lore could do.

Bayern Phoenix

Ground:Old Club Stadium 77,000
Manager:Tyler Smith
Colors:Red and Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the Championship
Starters:Glee, Styles, Ewing**, Horzgalev, Russell**, Austin, Hagerty, Bauer, Williamson**, Williams*, Petreas
ReservesJones, Federov, Peachy, Marks, Landsaw, Baker
Sponsor:Glendale Pharmacy
Nickname(s):Phoenix
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:7th
Team InfoWith no real moves in the offseason, and no real moves in the tables in the past few seasons, the whole idea of the once great Phoenix of Bayern is beginning to falter. They continue to be the lower side of Bayern, and with the most recent championship going to their hated rivals from across the tracks, one wonders if they are bloodthirsty enough to claim their own stake on the city in the south.

Bayern-Algaer

Ground:Bayern Stadium 24,000
Manager:Miron Prentice
Colors:Red and Black
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Win League, Beat the Phoenix
Starters:Habavëm**, Liedersmitt, Montreal, Galuba, Frederick, Rat, Puse**, Walters, Jack-Bentley**, Sanka, Kljestan
ReservesRose, Falk, Llana, Rainn, Shrew
Sponsor:Weaver, Smith and Wrangler
Nickname(s):Weavers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:1st
Team InfoWe are the champions! But can they stay on their high horse or will they fall, like so many teams tend to do in club football. I has been four years since a team has repeated, the last team was the team from the other side of the tracks, Phoenix. The Weavers will look to do what they have also done, but can they?

Blacklake Blues

Ground:Blacklake Blues Ballpark 79,000
Manager:Karl Ash
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay in top division
Starters:Kuyt, Johnson, Edu, Neverland*, Tyler, Utley, Conrad, Kafka**, Salvador, Praetor, Angel
Reserves:Voorheis, Foxtrot, Saltzer, Galadriel, Pheonix
Sponsor:Blacklake Brewery
Nickname(s):Blues
Offseason Moves:Bought CF Jeremy Praetor from Taeshan City Miners, bought CM Aaron Conrad from X Island Metrostars, Bought LM Michael Tyler from 3.14 and bought CB Vince Edu from Celtic Rangers.
Last Season Finish:14th
Team InfoIt’s a new look team coming onto the pitch this year from Blacklake. Not only did they lose a bunch from retirement, but they barely were able to replace the players they did lose. With a lot of duct tape, and elbow grease the team that will take the field was put together for the upcoming season, but can this team be fixed enough to have any sort of impact on the proceedings?

Fadrön Flight

Ground:Fadrön University Field 89,000
Manager:Capricorn Mayuscula
Colors:Green and Red
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spots
Starters:Casanova, Baguette, Lumure, Miller, Angelburry, Cailou, Scott, Faujeau, Dereke, Woods, Descamps
Reserves:Parks, Parker, Kather, Bodreau, Nagle
Sponsor:Taeshan Air
Nickname(s):Flight, Flyers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:6th
Team Info6th is no bad position to be in. Though one place out of the international scene not many were unhappy about the Flight’s inability to make it that far. After many a year floating around the second division the Flight have been able to stay in the top division for some time now and as many can see, they are here to stay for the long run.

FC Tenacity

Ground:Englmarkt Arena 46,000
Manager:Zackary Villanueva
Colors:Blue, Green and Black
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Stay top Flight
Starters:Kohler, Sommers, Jameek, Stevens, Ortz, Heitz, Karlsbad, Frenchie, Abreu*, Kyles, Morris
ReservesSlayze, Patel, Cassleburg, Laker, Stiles
Sponsor:Englmarkt
Nickname(s):The Checkers
Offseason Moves:Bought LB Ted Sommers and RF Jem Morris from FC Tenacity.
Last Season Finish:15th
Team InfoTwo key signing from a team headed down to the second division will be the key to FC Tenacity staying topside for years to come. Both youngsters will look to shore up their respective sides of the ball, and many think looking at the two that there are good things to come for the Checkers.

Knightspurs

Ground:The Dome 92,300
Manager:Konar Sanchez
Colors:Purple and Powder Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Pick the pieces up with a barren squad
Starters:Celani, Sanders, Provyay, Nedved, Young**, Forrestor, Connor, von Hittite, Flash, Schwartz*, Williamson
ReservesMedyedva, Garden, Prescott, Bouvieau, Walker
Sponsor:Tae-Mart
Nickname(s):Spurs, Knights
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:10th
Team InfoThe team that Knightspurs used to be is all but torn about. Most of it no longer is on the roster, and over half of the team left during the offseason for retirement. Football in Taeshan is a very lucrative business and as such many retire fast, but it is really bad when all of your team’s players graduate at around the same time.

Laketown Rangers

Ground:Stadium on the Lake 90,000
Manager:Jose Williams
Colors:Blue, Blue and More Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Riddle, Patel, York, Vlies, Finnigan, Thomas, Sanders, Saracin, Rosseau**, Wanner, Pavelski**
Reserves:Toraven, Flag, Laurette, Mathers, Weaver
Sponsor:Laketown Police Academy
Nickname(s):Rangers
Offseason Moves:Bought RM Jed Saracin from X Island Metrostars, and bought Tom York CB from Taeshan City Miners.
Last Season Finish:16th
Team Info Laketown followed up its first championship with a pedestrian 16th place finish. The Rangers though are not down and out, first off Francois Rosseau seems back to normal after a great preseason and with the addition of Jed Saracin from Metrostars the Laketown Rangers midfield is just that much stronger, and with the strong Antoletian Pavelski fronting the Laketown offensive onslaught the Rangers are in very good hands for the coming seasons.

Los Riosa Monstas

Ground:Gangsters Park 99,000
Manager:Greg Loshie
Colors:Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:High
Expectations: High Middle Pack
Starters:Bobby, Fasnacht, Patel, LaRue, Lee, Overland**, Keens, Newman, Baumgarten*, **, Clapton, McMicheal
ReservesWalcott, Fortuna, Noles, Mellinger, Ash
Sponsor:Taeshan Mob
Nickname(s):Monstas, Gangstas
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:5th
Team InfoThe qualification to the Globe Cup was a nice addition to the brilliant past of the Monstas top division career. Now they hope to follow it up with another nice season. The Monstas are led of course by two Polarians in the midfield Elias Overland and Steffan Baumgarten, the fates of the team rest on the shoulders of the two young players from another place of ice and snow.

Mierton Manatees

Ground:Mierton Area Park
Manager:Oscar Asailles
Colors:Blue and White
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Lightfoot, Johnson, Cannibus**, Warkle*, Sanderson, Potter, Pato, Kylss, Gardner, Aimes, Nakrazeel
ReservesAlbaf, Gorzon, Tyke, Martin, Sanchez
Sponsor:No Doubt Apparel
Nickname(s):Manatees
Offseason Moves:Bought GK Nader Albaf from Al Haxire, and bought LM Jacob Potter from 3.14.
Last Season Finish:18th
Team InfoSomehow they always stay around. Whether it is because of future national teamer Manny Pato or because their defense somehow had more goals in off their heads into the other teams net than own goals, tongue and cheek aside the team is sure to barely stay around once again.

Moresville FC

Ground:Moresville Brewery Park
Manager:Tom Gardener
Colors:Orange, and Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Stay top Flight
Starters:Fuller, Jaffacake, Smyth, Smoker, Lydie, Hoover, Marx, Anderson, Salisbury, Durant, Pallete*
ReservesRayzor, McAndrews, Hornsby, Parul-Mundeke, Smyth
Sponsor:Moresville Brewery
Nickname(s):The Owls
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:12th
Team InfoMoresville continues to surprise. They are not your daddies Moresville, not a small fish in these parts, yet at times one can see that old bottom feeder’s mentality in how scrappy the team tends to be. But with a back line that is second too few they could seriously threaten one of these days to actually win something.

Mt Ceabring Thunder

Ground:Mt Ceabring Athletic Complex 10,000
Manager:Micheal Lupin
Colors:Brown and Cream
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the cup. Who cares what else you do?
Starters:Hassel**, Gardner, Tyrony, Oosten, Street, Martan, Arthur*, Jarvis**, Gorchakov**, Laravy, Zul’Zorander
ReservesFaulkner, Swanson, Walker, Veira, Baines
Sponsor:Kane Industries
Nickname(s):Thunder
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:3rd
Team InfoThird is good, and so is going to the Globe cup. But it is bittersweet. A reminder of what could have been, and it’s also a reminder of what wasn’t. A semi-final loss in the Fadron Pizza Cup and the Thunder continue to be less than. They continue to not be good enough. Now they continue to weaken as new and players that could be argued are lesser come in. Oh where oh where can they gain a spark?

New Capetown Falcons

Ground:New Capetown Memorial Park 100,111
Manager:Ezekiel Wallace
Colors:Pink, Red and Grey
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Middle Pack
Starters:Obliski, Pewtersmitt, Bates**, Ricard**, Smilles, van Tonder**, Tlumach, Connel, Brwl, Frank, Lacroix
ReservesLance, Blake, Godula, Sommers, Youndt
Sponsor:Falcon Brewery
Nickname(s):Falcons
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:9th
Team Info And now they are good again. The two Gordonopians obviously have talent and now with U21 national teamer Mark Tlumach in the fold the Falcons are scary good. I can’t wait to see what happens in this season for them.

Ojian Orangemen

Ground:Ojian Principality Field 99,000
Manager:Matt Wanner
Colors:Orange and Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Mole, Jacobsen, Whitehorse, Stasny*, Broley, Hatfield, Neuville, Nagin**, Kreider, Portmanteau, Drake
ReservesAnglo, Fields, Pigeon, Nostradamus, Walls
Sponsor:Orange Lake Benefit Society
Nickname(s):Orangemen
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:19th
Team Info It was a really really off season for the Orangemen. But if their season will be any better than that one than it relies on the shoulder of the oft heroed Jeremi Kreider who has many times helped the under 21’s join the likes of the international elite with his blazing speed and his incredible skills to find the right person.

Real Atlantea

Ground:The Wheelhouse 69,069
Manager:George Baggio
Colors:Aqua and Red
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Torje, Sanderson, Ebson, Jackal, Wasser, Penterby*, Morse, Blitzen, Jordan, Root, Zaucier
ReservesBraint, Quilez, Marks, Portia, Jannis
Sponsor:Poplaberg
Nickname(s):The Shepherds
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:1st Erste Liga
Team InfoAnother relegation, another championship of the lower division. The Shepherds continue to show a willingness to come back from the depths, but if they continue to worry more about saving money and less about good players they will continue to not be good enough for anyone.

Real Chinchinhua

Ground:Real Stadium on the Lake 99,001
Manager:Mefusula White
Colors:Red and Purple
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Championship
Starters:Lichaj, Williams, Sacha, Augustini**, Laake**, Berns, Houck, Palisades, Fullerton, Flowne*, Oberholtzer
ReservesAnderson, Tarhito, McCoy, Micheal, Fawkes
Sponsor:Water Solutions of Lake Minor
Nickname(s):Chihuahuas
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:13th
Team Info13th two years in a row. The Chihuahuas are incredibly lackluster. But there is hope for the future. There are a lot of good young players like Gregory Fawkes and Holt McCoy. So what is it worth if you are not good enough at the moment, but will be. Learn to stay around that’s what they need.

SK Nethers United FC

Ground:Netherpia Municipal Stadion 40,000
Manager:Grant Valdez
Colors:Royal Blue and Light Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Finish Mid Table
Starters:Jones, de Huiyten**, Oorschot, Warrener, Fox, Aimes, Stern, Jarrold, Hanson, Hiarchrates**, Murgatroyd
ReservesHouck, Johnson, York, Gadje, Alexander
Sponsor:Notzi Zombees
Nickname(s):Flying Dutchmen
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:11th
Team InfoThe Flying Dutchmen surely could not have been any higher at the end of last season. Not only did they have a brilliant season, but they very well could do it once again. The team is so close to breaking through a barrier they have never broke before.

Sleepy Hollow

Ground:Mort Field (69,000)
Manager:Joseph Anderson
Colors:Black, White and Gray
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Avoid relegation
Starters:Henry, Josef, Ricard, Aime, Douglas, Patrick, Drew, Barnaby, Johnson, Nancy, Crane
ReservesMartin, Kyle, Mathew, Fischer, Joshua
Sponsor:Ogilvy Real Estate
Nickname(s):Wranglers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:4th Erste Liga
Team InfoSleepy Hollow has long awaited their first venture into the premier league of Taeshani football. They have been unsuccessfully trying to gain promotion into the top division for many years to have their crack at the top teams in the country in a non-cup setting. Now can they take advantage of the chance they have given themselves is the best question of them all.

Sparta F.C.

Ground:Spartan Stadium 24,000
Manager:Ainge Blakes
Colors:Red, Turquoise and Purple
Fan Support:Spartan
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Cataguay, Smyth, Faulkner, Kuruchet**, Robinson, Folain, Glasgow*, Ashley, Ash, Rolston, Mclane
ReservesDoller, Twatter, McHenry, Hawk, Handy
Sponsor: Giroux Caisses Populaires
Nickname(s):The Red Sea
Offseason Moves:None
Las Season Finish:20th
Team InfoSpartans what is your profession. War, or rather football in this case. But you’ve got to be good at it to survive in a top league, and the Spartans and their supporters in the Red Sea are really below what they could be. Who really knows if they can continue to stay in the top flight, but if I were a betting man I’d bet against it.

Tar Pit Mighty Hyena

Ground:Tar Pit (40,000)
Manager:Tyrone Ashley
Colors:Purple, Pink, Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Avoid relegation
Starters:Faxley, Thomas, Denver, Argo, Gordon, Larsen, Cardinal, Klose, Shanahan, Fiery, Crane*
ReservesStewart, Styer, Klose, Justini, Scott
Sponsor:Levenstein Piemakers
Nickname(s):Mightyhena
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:2nd Erste Liga
Team InfoQuite literally the new kids on the block, Tar Pit were barely expected to stay in the top half of the Erste division at best last season. Somehow the team from just outside Capetown managed to not only due that but gain straight promotion to the top division by finishing second in the second division. Now we can only watch and see if they can continue to show a promise that has surprised most of the Taeshani soccer fans.

Tintown Terrapins

Ground:Tintown Stadium 23,000
Manager:Josiah Grant
Colors:White and Jade
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for Championship
Starters:Harengoty, Steinmetz, Perry, Palisades, Denver, Foster, Icicle, Dover, de Huiyt**, Jones, Ortiz
ReservesPatrick, Marx, Axel, Quiroz, Hewitt
Sponsor:Tintown Ironworks
Nickname(s):Terrapins
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:2nd
Team InfoTintown was so close to a second championship, but in the end they fell short of a masterfully won championship by a young Bayern-Algaer team. Now with the team continuing to gel and very little change in one of the top teams the Terrapins are looking to continue to be a top 5 team in the league.

Wiechester FC

Ground:Fadron Pizza Field at Wonder Park 250,000
Manager:Muazong Kuha

Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete For Championship
Starters:Narhly, Cline, Lantern, O’Leavy, Aimes, Crabwood, Abdullah, Cladius, Werner, El-Ghazzawy, Woods

Offseason Moves:Bought CB Drew Lantern and RB Grady O’Leavy from X Island Metrostars
Last Season Finish:22nd
Team InfoIt was not the return to the top flight the Ballers expected, but in the end they were just good enough to stay away from being that team to fall right back down again. They barely managed a win to stay top flight and even that needed a late goal to do that. But now they have more experience back up in the top flight, and could really use a spark.

X Island Marauders

Team InfoX Island had a great season last year and they finished 4th. And with all but two starters returning for the upcoming season I am happy to report they may once again force themselves upwards into the highest parts of the table.

Team InfoYaton is still around after a very good season for a team that has just made it back to the top level of the Taeshani pyramid. The team is looking to make its mark known, and overall show that they are better than the rest. Seems they are really going to have to show something different this year.

To: UICA Administrative Headquarters
Cc: Cygnus Cup Administrative Headquarters

Greetings,

Anticipating a possible lack of time to fully prepare detailed results of the latest season of Osarian domestic football, the OFA would like to request that the same teams represent Osarius in UICA competitions (where possible) if a suitable presentation cannot be arranged in time.

For clarification, those teams were:
TakilQup Champions' Cup: Firewood City, Grasshoppers Turic
Globe Cup: Burningham City, Hastmead Diamante, Callisto City

Osarius' Series B Champions Cup representatives have been omitted as last season's participants are no longer eligible, and we feel it would not be in the spirit of fairness to offer arbitrarily decided teams.

For the Cygnus Cup -- though we are aware it is not a UICA competition -- a representative will not be sent unless the OFA Cup final is played before the deadline, as the OFA acknowledges the lack of a national cup champion otherwise, and therefore a lack of an eligible representative. Again, we are loath to use arbitrary criteria to decide a team.

Should the cup final be played, and a suitable presentation of our desired representative teams be arranged in time, you will be informed in the usual manner and we will request that you please disregard this message.

Many thanks,
Lord William Kenterbury, COSK
Chairman of the Osarian Football Association

MID-SEASON SUMMARY

V-League: 33rd Season Tropical Trophy
(Note: The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one. For this seasons Tropical Trophy, The V-League Stellar Division Champions (Turoki Tide) & Vilitan Cup Champions (Makosile) were invited in what would be just the third Tropical Trophy in history that did not contain either Strike, Marine Coast United or the Yeaddin Owls, and the first Tropical Trophy ever to not contain any of those 3 teams, or Arcticala Inlet.

The defending Tropical Trophy and Vilitan Cup champions Makosile were led out onto the field by their goalkeeper and captain, Atacir Tivalan. Alongside Tivalan was Turoki Tide captain Rexii Tzikas from the Vilitan National Team.

As the match started, Makosile looked the fresher of the two sides, perhaps having gone through a more structured off-season training regimen following their poor league performance during Season 32.

The Tide eventually got into the game after about 15 minutes as Rexii Tzikas, Lucas Andrada and Steffyn Siazzu all found themselves with good opportunities to test Tivalan in the Makosile goal. The Tide's first real missed opportunity game just after the half hour when Uajiala Pulkki connected on a Steffyn Siazzu corner only to see the headed effort cleared off the line by Viliaka Morasita.

After looking very flat for the first 15 minutes of the match, the Tide clearly dominated the final 30 minutes and half time was certainly a relief for Makosile, especially after Lucas Andrada hit the upright with the final kick of the half, keeping the score level at 0-0.

The two sides returned unchanged for the second half and the 'tide' of the match remained equally unchanged as Makosile could do absolutely nothing with Steffyn Siazzu. The only thing keeping the scores level was the woodwork as both Andrada and Riksa Valjaria hit the crossbar in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. It was just moments after the near miss by Valjaria that the Tide unsurprisingly broke through. It was none other than Steffyn Siazzu who produced the goal, truly deserved for the very strong performance he had put forward up to that point in the match.

Makosile nearly found a way back in the 74th minute as Hooizo Nuakoi let a weak shot run free before Xcnaio Bansoa fired over the net, wasting Makosiles final chance to get back into the match.

The final whistle echoed through the Tivali Ring Stadium and the Turoki Tide had backed up their Stellar Division title by winning their second Tropical Trophy.

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:
The Stellar Division opened with a bang as Arcticala Inlet and Cednia Beach AFC produced a real shootout at the Arcticala Electrical Stadium. The two rival sides - the first clubs to really challenge and successfully breakup the three-way Vilitan League juggernaut of Marine Coast, Yeaddin and Strike; put in a match for the ages that saw the Electricians victorious on the heels of a Loala Kigoouao in a 4-3 result to send Arcticala Inlet straight to the top of the Stellar Division Table. Cednia Beach were looking strong and got a goal from 'Old Man' - Krytenia's Eric Tyler, before Cednia's captain and starting goalkeeper Jaqe Planst had to go off injured at the half, changing the complexion of the match. Aguazul's Merlin Salomon was cautioned for a foul that led to the only non-Kigoouao goal for Arcticala Inlet, scored by Turori's Rikko Rawaai. Cednia fought back but new signing Friekder Dandalleion looked like needing a little more time to familiarize with the Turorian system and the match would end in the 4-3 scoreline.

Not to be outdone, the Turoki Tide put up four goals of their own en-route to a 4-0 thrashing of 10-man Colonial Sile. Actalia Mermaioda, Lucas Andrada and Riksa Valjaria all got on the scoresheet for the Tide.

Elsewhere, Strike FC and Makosile United both got off to winning starts as they looked declare their interest in the fight to return to the Championship Form of seasons prior. Turoki Isle, having finally returned to the Stellar Division to join the Turoki Tide and Turoki United, started off the season with a buoying win in the first of 6 Turoki derby's of the season, taking down Turoki United by a 1-0 scoreline.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 6:
The Turoki Tide got the best of Arcticala Inlet at the Turoki Community Complex to join Strike FC as the only two teams to win their opening two matches. That would change on Matchday 3 when the defending champions were downed by Mliona-Lpaka in Turori, leaving Strike, who defeated Cednia Beach 1-0, as the lone unbeaten side.

The two sides would meet at the Turoki Community Complex on Matchday 4 and Strike sent a very strong message that they were the team everyone would be chasing in Season 33. Goals from Miiara Makose, Retiso Buran and Viji-mara Lawaai saw the Venom thrash the Tide on the way to distancing themselves atop the table.

The Tide would rebound, however, with a 1-0 win over Kiiarana City and a 4-0 thrashing of a strong Yeaddin Owls side to claw back up into the top 3. Strike, on the other hand, fell to a shock defeat against punching-bag Colonial Sile before being held to a draw at the Arcticala Electrical stadium, allowing Makosile to calmly sneak by to the top spot just 1 point ahead of Strike and 2 points ahead of the Turoki Tide and Mliona-Lpaka in 3rd and 4th.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 10:
Strike suffered their second defeat of the season at home to Mliona-Lpaka who closed the gap on leaders Makosile to just 1 point after 7 matchdays

A surprising development saw Arcticala Inlet and Cednia Beach AFC struggling after strong opening matches, the electricians dropping a 3-2 result to Makosile after Kuzman Ruslan's 79th minute winner, sending Makosile joint top of the table and Arcticala Inlet down to 12th just one place clear of the relegation zone.

Makosile were joined a four way tie atop the table along with Strike, the Turoki Tide and Turori's Mliona-Lpaka. The four-club group had broken away from the pack with a game in hand

THROUGH MID-SEASON:

As the season approached mid-way, it appeared that the 'Abellan Era' was coming to a close in the Vilitan League as the Turoki Tide, along with Strike FC and even Makosile abandoned their defensive roots and found themselves in high-scoring shootouts. Joint-Leaders Makosile and Mliona-Lpaka fought to a 3-3 draw while the Turoki Tide were busy putting another 4 goals past a mid table side, this time Morata Valley.

The four-club battle started looking like it would become a two-club battle as Strike FC took care of Makosile at home and the Tide continue their attacking assault on the table putting three goals past Cednia Beach as the duo opened a four point advantage over third place and a nearly 4-game advantage over 5th, looking to ensure their place in the Champions Cup long before the season would come to a close.

The advantage would get even bigger as the midway point of the season was officially reached. The Tide would win another Turoki derby, 3-1 over bottom side Turoki Isle, leaving them on 29 points at the half, topping the table on goal differential over the Venom.

Makosile was holding onto a 4 point advantage in its Champions Cup place, although 7 points behind the leaders, while Mliona-Lpaka Turori looked poised to take advantage of Cednia Beach's misery of a season, sitting in 4th place and looking to qualify for the first time to the Champions League.

Arcticala Inlet's Loala Kigoouao was topping the goal scoring chart at the seasons halfway mark with 9 goals, followed closely by Strike's Viji-mara Lawaai on 7.

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:
Kiiara-Torra got off to the brightest start taking down newcomers Wunokalsa Waridi of Turori by a convincing 3-1 scoreline to move atop the table after the opening matchday. The surprise of the day, however, came at the Kionao Minor Field where Lonngeylin Coast came into town and informed the Kionao Locals that a bounce back to the Stellar Division was certainly no guarantee, defeating the Locals on their home turf by a 2-1 scoreline. Tival United and FC Almintora were also victorious, with the other 3 matches ending in a draw.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 8:
A three-way tie atop the table surfaced as the Kionao Locals had recovered from their opening day defeat to join the two stars of opening day, Lonngeylin Coast and Kiiara-Torra, atop the table on 15 points.

Nusira Lionta was hanging in their just one point back but the biggest surprise had to be Turorian side Wunokalsa Waridi who held onto the 5th spot just 3 points behind the leaders.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:
At the seasons halfway point, Lonngeylin Coast and Kiiara-Torra had maintained their form, all the while watching the Kionao Locals slip away as challengers for the title despite the strong play of the Locals Acquan Lorenzo Borromeo. The Locals had drifter 4 points behind Kiiara-Torra for the 2nd promotion place and allowed Nusira Lionta to slip between them.

With just one win in 13 games the Crosaibi Locals looked favored for the drop while Vilisorma was fighting to keep pace with the pack.

Kiiara-Torra's Cediici Tzatzos was clearly the most prolific scorer at the halfway point with 7 goals, but his prolific tally would not be added to as he would decide half a season was too long to wait for Top-Flight football, leaving the club to join Stellar Division high-fliers Makosile United.

Vilitan Cup Group Stage:
Pod 1: The misery for the former Series B Champions Cup winners Kionao Locals extended directly into the Vilitan Cup as the Locals were unable to take a single result out of their Pod, crashing out at the first stage without scoring a single goal. Non-Leaguers Marta Seraai edged Surf Jettica for a place in the second round along with Stellar Division side Turoki Isle.
Pod 2: Former league side Lonngeylin City was victorious in Pod 2, besting Declasse side Kiiara-Torra and Non-Leaguers Akisa Surta. Stellar Division side Mliona-Lpaka Turori would also advance to the second round.
Pod 3: Pod 3 saw Stellar Division side Turoki United come out unbeaten and unscathed to clinch a place in the knockout phase while Non-League side fought off fierce competition from Declasse side Irottea and former League Side Rammsissil to advance to the second round.
Pod 4: Strike FC took a perfect record to the top of Pod 4, working together with Non-League side Jaguar Moreda to eliminate the majority of the Turorian threat in the process. The two clubs eliminated Declasse side FC Almintora and the developing Inura Forests club to make it all the more likely that yet another season will pass without a Turorian club winning the Vilitan Cup.
Pod 5: Pod 5 was a very tight affair as any of Declasse Side Lopinka, Stellar Division side Mavaloiao or Non-League sides Spear Cape and Lonngeylin could have advanced. Goals were few and far between, each side scoring no more than twice - but in the end it was the two league sides that were able to advance to the knockout phase.
Pod 6: Eastal Lunar used the momentum of a return to the Stellar Division to boost them to the top of Pod 6 and a place in the second round, where they would be joined by Declasse side Vilisorma who knocked off the Terrarokka Spirit and Jlinal Cove.
Pod 7: Inland Peaks fell victim to a strong performance by Declasse rivals Tivali United who advanced to the knockout phase along with Stellar Division side Colonial Sile.
Pod 8: Non-League Crosaibi City out-dueled rivals Crosaibi Locals to make a surprise appearance in the second round while Cednia Beach eliminated Declasse side Wunokalsa Waridi to leave just two Turorian Teams left to square off with 20 Vilitan clubs for the Vilitan Cup title.
Pod 9: Makosile were one of just three teams - the three most prominent in the league - to post a perfect pod record, easily progressing through to the knockout rounds and opening up the scoresheet in the process with 7 goals. As expected, Morata Valley would join them after besting Declasse side Marine Coast United.
Pod 10: In perhaps the strongest of all the Pods, the Turoki Tide were the third club, along with Makosile and Strike, to put up a perfect record and advance directly to the knockout round. They would be joined by fellow Steallar Division side Arctcala Inlet, though not without intrigue as the Electricians barely snuck past former League side Alikki-Corra.
Pod 11: The Yeaddin Owls advanced to the knockout round from Pod 11 along with fellow Stellar Division side Kiiarana City.

Vilitan Cup Round 2:
Five non-league clubs would qualify for Round 2 of the Vilitan Cup but only two would survive to see another match, only one of which could claim a league scalp. Jlinal City was able to produce a 1-0 victory at home over Stellar Division side Morata Valley to triumphantly advance to the Round of 16. They would be joined there by fellow Non-Leaguers Marta Seraai who knocked out Crosaibi City by the same scoreline.

Jaguar Moreda's dream run was crushed by Stellar Division high-fliers Mliona-Lpaka who recorded a 3-0 result over the Non-League side. Lonngeylin City also crashed out after entertaining Arcticala Inlet.

The only all-Stellar Division match of the second round saw Kiiarana City 1-0 victors over Mavaloiao while in an all-Declasse matchup, Vilisorma required penalty kicks to get by Tivali United and move into the Round of 16.

Image
The Kinitar Super Cup is supposed to be held at the start of the season, between the League and Cup winners from the previous season, but then Mi'ato went and won both, so League runners-up Litora United were invited to the tournament instead.

So, Mi'ato complete a clean sweep of the cup competitions with a 4-1 victory over B-League side Atletika Vanuku. Shame about the league. Winning the League Cup doesn't actually make them eligible for anything except prestige.

SECOND HALF SUMMARY

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:
The second half of the season started with a resurgent Arcitcala Inlet taking care of business against relegation-threatened Cednia Beach AFC with Lita Adjei and Loala Kigoouao teaming up to provide the goals in the 3-0 result.

Strike, meanwhile, began to lose touch of the leaders just a little bit after a 1-2 defeat at home to Morata Valley which dropped them a full 3 points behind the Tide after 15 matches. In the battle of Turori, Cednia Beach AFC climbed out of the relegation zone with their victory over Mliona-Lpaka who still sat in great position to become just the second Turorian club to qualify for the UICA Champions League.

The Turoki Tide's MD16 victory over Mliona-Lpaka furhter increased their lead atop the table to 5 points while dropping Mliona-Lpaka to 5th place, 12 points out and all but left to fight for their place in the Champions League rather than contend for the title.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:
In what was sure to be the match that either made the title race interesting, or secured the title, Strike FC hosted the Turoki Tide on Matchday 17. In a cruel plot twist, former Strike FC forward Actalia Mermaioada opened the scoring for the Tide, although his tally was quickly canceled out by one from Yves Gadois. The two sides fought tooth and nail for another half hour before the Tide broke open the match with a pair of goals to give them the crucial victory that catapulted them to a 8 point lead atop the table and smooth sailing in their quest to join Strike and the Yeaddin Owls as the only clubs to ever repeat as Stellar Division Champions over consecutive seasons.

The Venom were not ready to count themselves out, however, returning to the win column on Matchday 18 as the Tide were held by hard-charging Kiiarana and the gap closed to just 6 points. Four straight defeats for Mliona-Lpaka also allowed another race to heat up as Cednia Beach closed to within 4 points of the wayward side in a battle to claim the Turorian place in the Champions League, which now appeared would go to a team outside the Top 4 for the first time as both sides slipped into the middle of the table.

As quickly as they looked Vulerable, however, the Tide made another statement win against the Yeaddin Owls, embarassing Jungrii Canopii by putting 5 goals past the Vilitan netminder. Wins in the Turoki derby over Turoki United for the Tide and over Mliona-Lpaka for Strike maintained the 8 point gap as the sides headed into the final 6 matches. A charge from Kiiarana City, the Stellar Divisions busiest team in the transfermarket during the season, saw them get a 2-point leg up over Makosile for the 3rd place in the Champions League, though way out of contention at 12 points behind the leaders.

At the bottom end of the table, Mavaloiao seemed favored for the drop, unable to keep pace they found themselves 7 points behind Turoki Isle while Eastal Lunar in 13th was one point from safety. The middle of the table was a hotly contested area as 7 teams were contesting for 6 places in the UICA globe Cup.

Strike stayed in the title race on Matchday 22 taking down 3rd place Kiiarana City and further distancing the gap between the top 2 teams and the rest of the table emphasizing the leap in quality up to the top clubs in the league. A goal from Lucas Andrada was enough to keep the Turoki Tide 8 points clear at the top with a win over bottom side Mavaloiao who inched dangerously close to relegation along with Eastal Lunar who dropped a 3-2 result at Cednia Beach - 'Old Man' Eric Tyler netting the winner in Turori after Arthur Moon's penalty kick had equalized for Eastal.

Strike blew their chance to make up ground on the Tide by dropping a 1-0 result at the Lirai Asku Castle. Jungrii Canopii put on a stellar performance and captain Manolis Kontalroma scored the goal to pull the Owls further into safety and put Strike on the brink of missing out on the title for a third consecutive season for the first time since Season 17. The Tide were held by Eastal Lunar who climbed out of the relegation zone while Mavaloiao's relegation was confirmed after their 1-0 defeat against Colonial Sile.

Old Man Tyler netted a hattrick in Morata Valley as Cednia Beach won 4-0 but could not gain a thing on Mliona-Lpaka in the race for the final UICA spot, as Mliona-Lpaka climbed to fourth with a 4-0 win of their own over Turoki United.

Things at the top were finally decided on Matchday 24 as Strike were held at home to Turoki United and the Tide ran out 2-0 winners over relegation threatened Morata Valley to become just the third club to ever repeat as Stellar Division Champions. In Turori, Mliona-Lpaka appeared threatened after Kuzman Ruslan's 80th minute goal gave Makosile a 3-2 lead, but they fought back over the final 10 minutes to take the 4-3 victory and clinch their place in the UICA Champions Cup for the first time in club history, leaving Cednia Beach AFC on the outside looking in after an up and down season.

THE DECISIVE FINISH:
Morata Valley's brief return to the Stellar Division ended with a 1-0 defeat to Colonial Sile on matchday 25, confirming their relegation back to the Declasse, combined with Eastal Lunar's 1-0 win over Arcticala Inlet. The Electricians falter dropped them into the bottom of the table and into the grasps of the Yeaddin Owls as the two sides would fight on the final matchday for the last spot in the UICA Globe Cup.

Acrticala Inlet kept hold of their place in the Globe Cup with a 1-0 win over Morata Valley, restricting the Owls to another season golfing while the rest of the clubs are preparing for UICA competition. Kiiarana jumped up to a strong third place finish in the table with a convincing 4-1 thrashing of Makosile. Danie Izmao, Aniara Jiurjai, Sirkii Moliaudo and Ichi Tuzzio all on the scoresheet for Kiiarana, allowing Colonial Sile to pip the Makos for the title of 'best team in Sile' for the season.

A Lucas Andrada goal ensured the Tide would end the season in top form, claiming their Stellar Division trophy as well as the Season sweep of Turoki Derby's, defeating Turoki Isle to end the season 21 matches unbeaten after 2 defeats in the opening 3 matches.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 16:
Lonngeylin Coast and Kiiara-Torra continued to distance themselves from the field with Lonngeylin Coast holding a 4 point advantage over Kiiara-Torra, and it was further 4 points back to Nusira Lionta, the only club even within striking distance of the top 2.

Fourth placed Irottea was 9 points back and not looking like a threat, being just as close to the relegation zone as they were to promotion.

In the relegation zone, Vilisorma were 4 points behind the Turorian duo of FC Almintora and Wunokalsa Waridi who represented safety and another season of league play. Sandwiched between them were the Crosaibi Locals, 2 points from safety and looking to hold on to the lucrative rivalry with Marine Coast United for one more season.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 20:
Lonngeylin Coast would let their foot off the gas, allowing Kiiara-Torra to close to within 1 point of the lead and setting up an exciting battle for the Declasse title, even if it appeared theree would be no such excitement to decide who was going to get promoted - or possibly even at the bottom of the table.

After the 8 point gap to 3rd placed Kionao Locals and Nusira Lionta, another 5 points saw a pack in the middle of the table now incredibly led by Wunokalsa Waridi as the battle for places in the Series B Champions Cup was shaping up to go down to the final matchday. Waridi had put together a string of 4 matches unbeaten to climb from just above the relegation zone to well inside the International Qualification zone and 9 points clear of the drop.

Vilisorma was even more indanger having gained just 1 point in four matches and slipping 9 points from safety which was now represented by Tivali United and Inland Peaks. Crosaibi Locals also lost ground, sitting 4 points back on 18 points.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE:

Kiiara-Torra and Lonngeylin Coast were dead even on 44 points after 22 matchdays and it would take a collapse of mammoth proportions - with a 9 point lead and only 12 points to play for - for either side to miss out on promotion to the Top Flight. The two were destined to battle it out of the title.

As for the International qualifying positions, 3 clubs were tied for the final qualifying position with Marine Coast United, Lopinka Rovers and Irottea all sitting on 27 points. The relegation race also warmed up a bit as the Crosaibi Locals pulled within 1 point of Tivali United with 4 matches to play.

On Matchday 23, Kiiara-Torra recorded a crucial victory to give them a leg up in the Championship race and also ensure their return to the Stellar Division. Lonngeylin Coast's draw was essentially good enough to clinch their promotion as well, leaving the two sides to focus only on each other and the trophy.

Marine Coast United, Lopinka Rovers and Irottea remained all square after draws keeping the final UICA place hotly contested while Tivali United pulled one point further clear of Crosaibi Locals in the relegation battle.

With 3 Games to play, the contestants:

8. Marine Coast - 28 Points
---------------------- UICA Cutoff
-. Lopinka - 28 Points
-. Irottea - 28 Points
11. Inland Peaks - 24 Points
12. Tivali United - 23 Points
---------------------- Relegation
xx. Crosaibi Locals - 21 Points
xx. Vilisorma - 15 Points

Lonngeylin Coast's shock defeat on Matchday 24 allowed Kiiara-Torra to take a 3 point lead with 2 matches to go in the championship race while Vilisorma's relegation was confirmed as Crosaibi Locals clawed out of the relegation zone with their victory.

The three-way battle for the final UICA spot became a four-way battle as Inland Peaks joined the race with their Matchday 24 victory, although Irottea's defeat dropped them one point back from Marine Coast and Lopinka.

With 2 Games to play, the contestants:

8. Marine Coast - 29 Points
---------------------- UICA Cutoff
-. Lopinka - 29 Points
-. Irottea - 28 Points
11. Inland Peaks - 27 Points
12. Crosaibi Locals - 24 Points
---------------------- Relegation
xx. Tivali United - 24 Points
** Vilisorma Relegated**

Kiiara-Torra clinched the Declasse title on Matchday 25 with a 1-0 victory that put Tivali United on the brink of relegation while Marine Coast United critically fell one point behind Lopinka and Inland Peaks in the race for the final UICA place.

With 1 Games to play, the contestants:

8. Lopinka - 30 Points
---------------------- UICA Cutoff
-. Inland Peaks - 30 Points
10. Marine Coast - 29 Points
--. Irottea - 29 Points

12. Crosaibi Locals - 25 Points
---------------------- Relegation
xx. Tivali United - 24 Points

THE FINAL MATCHDAY:
Both of the already-promoted sides lost on the final matchday, with everything including the championship already decided, to give the final table a closer look than it would otherwise have had. All eyes were on Crosaibi, however, where the Crosaibi Locals had it all to do. They needed a result to ensure avoiding relegation, a victory would see them safe for one more season. A victory would also likely send rivals Marine Coast United to the UICA Series B Cup.

Victory would not come. Lopinka ran out 1-0 winners of Crosaibi, condemning the Locals to relegation, and ensuring their own UICA spot ahead of Marine Coast United, all in all, a bad day in Crosaibi thanks to Lopinka Rovers success.

Vilitan Cup Round of 16:

The Cups last remining non-league sides were eliminated in the Round of 16 with Marta Seraai falling 1-0 to Colonial Sile while Jlinal City survived Extra Time before going down on Penalty Kicks to Turoki United.

The seasons 7th Turoki Derby took place at the Turoki Community Complex where the Tide snuck past the Islanders by a 1-0 scoreline. The most competitive matchup was in Arcticala where the Electricians downed Cednia Beach 2-0, but the most surprising result was Strike's 1-2 defeat away to Kiiarana.

Makosile United crushed Eastal Lunar 3-0 to advance to the Quarter Finals while the Yeaddin Owls took care of Lopinka 2-0.

The only scalp of the round came as Declasse side Vilisorma took down Mliona-Lpaka, and, in the process, once again ensured that the Vilitan Cup would be hoisted by a Vilitan side, eliminating the final Turorian team left in the competition.

Vilitan Cup Quarter-Finals: (Two Legs)
Vilisorma's dream run could not survive a two-legged matchup with Makosile who took the 2-0 victory at home and held on to advance to the Semi-Finals for consecutive seasons as they looked to defend their Vilitan Cup title. Also returning to the semi-finals would be the Turoki Tide who took a 4-1 aggregate result over Arcticala Inlet.

The Yeaddin Owls had a chance to restore some of their former glory but could not get past Turoki United over two legs. In the final match, Colonial Sile had the chance to make it 3 out of 4 returning semi-finalists and to ensure that all four Semi-Finalists would be from the Island of Turoki, but they could not get the job done, falling 3-1 at home to Kiiarana and losing 4-2 on aggregate.

Vilitan Cup Semi-Finals: (Two Legs)

After going down 3-1 in Turoki, Kiiarana had it all to do at the Lavaio Rapids Stadium as they hunted for their first Vilitan Cup title. It was The Tide who struck first though through Uajiala Pulkki to extend the aggregate advantage to 4-1 all but sealing their place in the Cup Final as they looked to make it a clean sweep of silverware during Season 33. Steffyn Siazzu scored another for good measure as the Tide cruised through to the Cup Final for the first time in Club History. It would not be a true Turoki derby however as defending champions Makosile survived a bitter match at the Turoki Community Complex against Turoki United, the match ending 1-1 with Makosile advancing on away goals to try to defend their title.
Makosile United (Stellar) *1-1 Turoki United (Stellar); Turoki Tide (Stellar) 5-1 Kiiarana City (Stellar)

Vilitan Cup Final:
The two-time reigning Stellar Division champions wasted no time breaking through at the Tivali Ring Stadium, Liventia's Michael Coburn opening the scoring just 3 minutes in to send the Tide supporters into raptures seeing glimpses of sweeping the silverware for Season 33.

Just as quickly as play restarted, however, Makosile rebounded and equalized just as quickly.

The Makos took the lead on the half hour mark, looking to defend their Season 32 Cup title, but it was clear moments later when Actalia Mermaioada equalized for the Tide that neither side had any interest in losing this modern-classic between two of the Vilitan Leagues newest rising dominant forces at the Tivali Ring Stadium.

The sides went into the half level at 2-2 and prepared for a hard fought second half. Coburn had a chance to give the Tide the lead just after the restart but it was cleared off the line and play continued. The Tide continued to have the better of the play in the second half and looked most likely to challenge Atacir Tivalan's net. The goal came in the 67th minute and prompted the songs and chants from the Tidal Basin as the supporters felt more silverware coming. The referee finally blew the whistle and the Tide had done it - the Season Sweep, having lifted the Tropical Trophy, Vilitan Stellar Division and Vilitan Cup trophies in the same season for the first time Since the re-start of the League during Season 26.

Tide Looking to Add Another Trophy

After being crowned Champions of the Stellar Division for the second consecutive season, the Turoki Tide are looking to extend their streak of trophies to 4 having also won the Tropical Trophy and Vilitan Cup during V-League Season 33.

The Tide were eliminated in the First Knockout Round during the 42nd UICA Champions League by Commerce Heights Árgos LP 3-2 on aggregate and have had a bitter taste in their mouths ever since. They put in a dominating performance during the Vilitan Stellar Division season, cracking the 60 point barrier for the first time in club history with just two defeats during the season.

Head coach Etazeke Febrala knew the Tide would need help and looked to rivals Makosile, snatching homeless JD Fuller, now a permanent resident of the Island of Turoki, and Turori's Lioniaa Tana from the Season 31 Champions.

Febrala also raided nearby Colonial Sile for forgotten acquan defender Pedro Uguccione, giving the player one last chance to impress at the Domestic Level before a chance to earn a recall to the Ossidiacqua national team roster for World Cup 62 qualifying. The biggest impact signing though was certainly Turorian utilitiy player Restiaa Mumamba from the Yeaddin Owls.

Jungle Strike Looking for a new Manager

The board of directors in Lonngeylin makes no secret of the clubs goal each season: Win the Stellar Division.

For the third straight season, Strike have failed to win the Stellar Division. For the third straight season, the board of directors in Lonngeylin is looking for a new manager. Despite finishing second in the Stellar Division with a point total that would have topped the table in the previous two seasons, hot shot manager Mikala Abellan was left looking for a new job.

The board of directors indicated they weren't necessarily going to wait for a new manager to sign on to start scouring the international market for players to bolster their bid to return to the top of the table during Season 34. One of the key targets for the board: A Backup Goalkeeper to support Vilita National Team goalkeeper Nycflala Kater. The board had rumored to be interested in High Heels youngster Kaisa Cuban, but would be unlikely to convince the young netminder to make a switch for a backup role.

Mliona-Lpaka knock Cednia Beach off their Perch

For the first time in their history, Mliona-Lpaka Turori will be headed to the Champions League, and they will do so with an almost-entirely Turorian roster. In fact, the Mliona-Lpaka squad is almost entirely local as well, with only Vilitan goalkeeper Jawz Tiiaupila having represented either of the two National Teams. Mliona-Lpaka had been threatening Cednia Beach for a few seasons but had faltered at the finish on every attempt. Now, led by long-time manager Jonathon Bijl, there is a new 'top team' in Turori - and they reside at the Mliona Stadium.

The West Zirconian National League

Division One

It was Stanley United who won the unofficial award for going the longest without defeat - a remarkable fifteen games before going down 3-2 at Taylor's Cross. Unsurprisingly, this gave the Vikings the lead, although a slender one over Banks and Bradley Hornets. Nor could Houghton Kestrels or Mort Park be ruled out of contention.

However, by the last match of the season, it was down to Bradley Hornets and Banks, separated by one point. Banks travelled to Moorcroft Wanderers, while Bradley Hornets were the visitors at Currie.

The final results were as follows:

Currie 1-5 Bradley Hornets
Moorcroft Wanderers 1-3 Banks

giving the title to Bradley Hornets, while confirming Moorcroft Wanderers' relegation.

Division Two

No such acts of resistance in Division Two, though newcomers Broxton and Marrs Hill did start the campaign with three straight wins. By halfway, Brock were still in contention, behind recently-promoted Greenwood Athletic and traditional yo-yo team Etruria.

By the final round of matches, it was, like Division One, down to two teams. Etruria lay three points ahead of Broxton and Marrs Hill, with a goal difference of 9 points. In other words, for Etruria to throw away the title they would have to lose (at home to Houghton Hawks), while Brock would have to win (away at Skelton Town), the combined goal difference being ten points. Not even Etruria could do that, surely?

The final results:

Etruria 1-1 Houghton Hawks
Skelton Town 1-1 Broxton and Marrs Hill

confirming Etruria as champions. Credit, though, is due to their Banks-based rivals, who have enjoyed two back-to-back promotions.

Division Three North

Owing to the geographical locations of the new clubs, three of them were placed in Division Three North, creating a league of 25 teams. Plimley Stallions, (their name an acknowledgement of the legendary racecourse nearby) and Pyhäsaaren Jalkopalloseura (thankfully generally known as PJS) were joined by Worley Ravers. Their unusual name was down to a misprint on the registration - the name was supposed to be 'Rovers' - which was then adopted by the team, appropriately enough given the reputation that the people of Worley have.

Elwell Harriers started off well, eyeing a return to Division Two. Kingsley Town and the newcomers from Plimley were not far behind. Other clubs joined the chasing pack - Calland and Smallshaw, Rothwell Temperance Society and PJS - but Elwell maintained a healthy lead over them. However, in the end it was close, as they won with a match to spare. Of the newcomers, PJS made the playoff.

Division Three South

The only newcomer to be placed in the Southern division was Gormley Town, based in what most people would consider the northernmost suburbs of St. Martin. They had a solid start to the campaign, mainly hovering around mid-table, while the truly St. Martin-based Corpus Christi fought it out with Newby Town at the top.

However, the top two were caught unawares by the challenge of Houghton Eagles, who stormed past them to join the Hawks in Division Two.

Turorian Stadium Bid for the UICA Championships

UICA Globe Cup - Cednia Beach Center - Cednia, Turori (103,000 Seated)

The Cednia Beach Center is one of the purest examples of capitalism and expansion in the Vilitan Leagues. Originally a modest plot for a modest team, the stadium has risen along with the rise of the club. Now, a world class stadium capacity wise, there are concessions that were made. The training grounds outside the center are second rate, and parking is virtually non-existent at the complex. Public transportation - including your own two feet, would be required for fans to access the stadium. Thats alright though, plenty of lodging surrounds the local area within walking distance.

The Cednia Beach Center, having been home to International competitions for many seasons, recently hosted the Cup of Harmony 53 Final contested between Darmen and New Montreal States following World Cup 61 Qualifying. New Montreal States ran out 4-2 winners on the day in what was an otherwise quiet and successful day at the park for fans attending at the Cednia Beach Center, showcasing the ability for Cednia to host the marquee matchups of International Sport despite the close confines of the stadium with its Cednia surroundings.
<Silexhera> Why does Turori make sense? :p

The Iturributan Premier Division: Season 650 Review
Preview

The fourth season of Iturributan football is now over, with some rather interesting results! Has the Sporting – United dichotomy been broken?! Hahaha of course not.

Premier Division
Iturributa United were tasked with ending Sporting Iturributa's reign and they did exactly that, emphatically, though not till after four tense derbies that ultimately left the title well out of the Chevrons' reach.

Bitter Sporting fans will instead point out the roots of the five-point difference lie in their poor showing in the first third of the season, when they were repeatedly held up by lesser sides and were even defeated at home by the promoted Axpuru Castle; despite a 3-0 defeat of United that cast doubts over the Scarlet Stripes' strong start, with twelve games gone Sporting found themselves four points behind their rivals, pushed into third place by Garitzeta Racing on virtue of head-to-head results.

United, meanwhile, though shocked by the 3-0 home loss in which Mantzio Janssens and Iratze Errekaborde (twice) vulnerated Anthony Newbridge, registered no other losses in the initial third of the season as opposed to Sporting's four. More importantly, they were capable of repeatedly scoring and defending the result effectively, mainly thanks to Newbridge's talent and a noticeable managerial effort to instill discipline and caution in the defense.

Prior to the season's second derby, a 4-3 thriller against Iturributa Racing came dangerously close to narrowing the gap between the two giants of the league; though Racing's Agoztar Miner gave them a run for their money,Aelsh forward Elwyn Richard and his partner Zilar Oramuno proved decisive once again. The following Sunday, United fed Sporting some of its own medicine by beating them in a nominal away match, captain Lorenzo Gianluigi securing the only goal of the match via a controversial penalty kick.

A series of draws and an away loss for United at the ever-combatant Iturributa Racing saw the difference again reduce to four points for the third derby of the season; it was to stay that way after the ninety minutes were up at Old City Stadium as both sides left the pitch with their heads hanging, unable to break the deadlock.

It was then Sporting's turn to suffer at The Hippodrome, Iturributa Racing's Agoztar Miner sinking the Chevrons; a further loss against Independent Garitzeta two weeks later left the Sporting supporters fuming, their only consolation being United's dropping points across town, at Garitzeta Racing's Letatzadur Stadium. The Scarlet Stripes were not to be put down, however, and its offense had a feast with an 8-2 whipping of Sorokin's Old Boys.

In the run-up to the final derby of the season, Sporting put down Old Boys with its own large scoreline 6-3, while United saw off Iturributa Racing with a confident 3-1 win. With 32 games played, the final derby of the season likely decided the title: if United won, they'd be eight points ahead with nine to play for; if Sporting won they'd be within two points of United, and it would only take a bit of luck for the pressure to get to the Scarlet Stripes' ahead and cost them the league. In the end, Elwyn Richard's goal was the only thing to separate them, but it was a goal that went a long way the next weekend, when United beat Independent Garitzeta to clinch the title at Old City Stadium, Sporting's defeat of Focus FC turned meaningless as Lorenzo Gianluigi lifted United's first domestic trophy in three years.

Further down the table, Iturributa Racing Club clung onto the goals of Agoztar Miner to finish third, as has become customary, while Garitzeta Racing Club at last outperformed a daring Freedom FC to qualify for the Globe Cup. The aforementioned were prolific scorers, especially their striker Urtatz Gaubeka, but failed to cling onto too many leads and dropped out of the UICA qualification zone, a financial loss that could come back to bite them.

Further down, Sorokin's Old Boys conceded the most goals of any team but were nonetheless consistent enough to earn seventh place, while Guenara Defender, Axpuru Castle and Focus FC engaged in a battle to the death, the latter of the three eventually paying the price; Focus will spend the next season in the second tier, while Premier Division founders Langaraitz Rovers return to claim their place.

Premier Division B
Langaraitz Rovers have been the prime candidates for promotion for a while now, and have finally made good on their promise of returning to the top tier; whether they'll be able to stay there is another matter, but if their current form is anything to go by they have a good shot. Uzio Blackstar, Baker's Eleven and the troubled Guenara City all made the SBCC, while the relegated Andozketa Wanderers were thoroughly disappointed to not just miss out on bouncing back to the top flight but also missing international football due to head-to-head results.

Guenara City 2-3 Bipagoun Town (3-5 agg)

Andozketa Wanderers 1-0 Providence Mytanars
Providence Mytanars 0-3 Andozketa Wanderers (0-4 agg)

Nothing much to write home about in the first round, as the Premier Division B sides decide who gets to go on and face the top-tier sides in the competition proper. Bipagoun Town overcoming Guenara City is perhaps the closest to an upset so far, though Erretana United came very close by taking Baker's Eleven all the way to penalty kicks, though the "Citiz" team displayed enough mettle to see themselves through in the end.

Round of 16

Freedom FC 1-1 Sporting Iturributa
Sporting Iturributa 3-1 Freedom FC (4-2 agg)

Garitzeta Racing Club 0-0 Guenara Defender (0-1 agg)

Iturributa United 3-0 Markiniz Union (4-0 agg)

Axpuru Castle 2-0 Baker's Eleven
Baker's Eleven 0-0 Axpuru Castle (0-2 agg)

Not much to see or contest in this year's Round of 16, most ties decided rather clearly. Andozketa Wanderers were the only second-tier side to advance after a 3-0 win against Focus FC, but considering it was between last season's relegated side and the nearly-relegated side it's not much of an upset. Sporting Iturributa versus Freedom FC was a fun pair of matches, especially after the draw at the Lon Biteri, but Old City Stadium ultimately proved too much for Freedom.

Quarterfinals

Sporting Iturributa 1-0 Guenara Defender
Guenara Defender 1-0 Sporting Iturributa (1-0 AET, 1-1 agg, 1-2 PKs)

Sorokin's Old Boys 1-0 Andozketa Wanderers
Andozketa Wanderers 4-0 Sorokin's Old Boys (4-1 agg)

Independent Garitzeta 0-2 Iturributa Racing Club
Iturributa Racing Club 3-2 Independent Garitzeta (5-2 agg)

Iturributa United 5-0 Axpuru Castle
Axpuru Castle 2-1 Iturributa United (2-6 agg)

Their defeat of Focus FC may not have been a huge shock, but Wanderers' casual dismembering of Sorokin's Old Boys in Andozketa certainly was, recovering from an away loss in spectacular fashion. While United tore apart Axpuru Castle and relaxed for the second leg, and Iturributa Racing sent Independent Garitzeta packing, two notoriously defensive sides clashed as Sporting Iturributa met Guenara Defender; a 1-0 win for each ended took the tie to extra-time and a shootout, where the better goalkeeper was eventually revealed to be Zernin Aira as they both repeatedly denied the penalty takers.

Semifinals

Sporting Iturributa 5-0 Andozketa Wanderers
Andozketa Wanderers 0-2 Sporting Iturributa (0-7 agg)

Iturributa Racing Club 1-0 Iturributa United
Iturributa United 0-0 Iturributa Racing Club (0-1 agg)

It was too good to be true for Andozketa Wanderers, and Sporting Iturributa brought them crashing back down and qualified for their third President's Cup final in a row, having won both previous ones. The big upset came thanks to Iturributa Racing, who once again prevented the domestic cup from being disputed as an Iturributan Derby, captain Kepa Loyaga securing the only goal of the tie in a heated match at The Hippodrome and the defence resisting heroically at Old City Stadium.

Final
First Leg:
@ Old City Stadium, Iturributa
Sporting Iturributa 0-1 Iturributa Racing Club

Second Leg:
@ The Hippodrome, Iturributa
Iturributa Racing Club 0-1 Sporting Iturributa
(0-1 AET, 1-1 agg)
(2-1 PKs)

A President's Cup finale for the ages; despite not featuring the season's Premier Division champion for the first time, neither side gave the other quarter and took a win apiece, by the slimmest of margins. Iturributa Racing put the pressure on Sporting when they came away with a win from Old City Stadium, their main man Agoztar Miner responsible for the embarassment. At The Hippodrome, a bastion where points are never easy and Racing were confident they would be able to defend, it was Mantzio Janssens who sneaked through the side and hit a crossed shot into the corner, silencing the stadium and opening wide the tie. It would come to nothing, however, as not even through extra-time would Aira and Dufurrena allow goals through. It all came down to a shootout for the first time in the nascent cup's history, but this time it was not Zernin Aira who pulled his side through; Burutzagi Narbarte scored the crucial penalty to round off the underdog story and see Iturributa Racing win their second President's Cup, their only silverware to date.

Falconwhereveryouare Primary Division -- Season 27

(Preview)

Primary
Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Umber Lumber 22 12 3 7 38 31 +7 39 CC
2 Falcus FC 22 11 5 6 38 26 +12 38 GC
3 Nestingham FC 22 10 7 5 44 27 +17 37 GC
4 Umber FC 22 11 3 8 40 29 +11 36 GC

5 Marriet 22 9 7 6 34 36 −2 34
6 Sheaver Seamen 22 10 4 8 31 35 −4 34
7 Wingipeg FC 22 9 5 8 40 28 +12 32
8 Lywik FC 22 8 5 9 28 34 −6 29
9 Wingipeg Wingers 22 7 7 8 30 31 −1 28
10 Winterfell FC 22 7 3 12 38 52 −14 24
11 Kalta 22 5 4 13 24 42 −18 19 Relegated
12 Upham 22 2 9 11 28 42 −14 15 Relegated

...we're all still shocked how Wingipeg FC didn't do better. Joint-second best offense and third-best defense, tied for second-best goal differential, still somehow finished in seventh. The goals just didn't seem to spread out enough; another shocking case of blowout wins matched almost evenly with narrow losses. Quite a disappointing season for Wingipeg, especially with the highly-touted Wingers finishing a terrible 9th. The other shockers were the aging squad of Falcus FC, showing they still have plenty of fight left in them, led by Somer Lann's impressive solidity in goal in a year where offense dominated. Of course, a tip of the hat must be given to Umber Lumber on their fourth championship; "those northerners with the funny names" really put it all together this year, especially thanks to Gordonopian Vann Mjan's organizing of the back line and Kronig Icevelh continuing as living proof that you only need one striker.

On the other end, Kalta's luck finally ran out and they were relegated solidly, five points behind the freshly-promoted Winterfell FC. Upham's manager tragically died of malaria just before the season started, so while the Natives still had the skill for a mid-table finish, they just didn't have the leadership to put it all together. Nu-wa Yi, an aspiring strategist from Upham, has recently been named the new manager and might just give those boys the path back to the Primary Division.

Season 20,045

So, this is what it comes down to isn't it, a Hondo-RCU duopoly at the top with the other teams just fighting for the scraps. You know, if Mar Sara or someone could just establish themselves as a third solid club to throw a wrench into the top two teams, it'd be amazing. Alas, we have none of that and this season it is the Owls who manage to take the title from RCU and the rest of the league. Don't feel bad for the Rockers though, they cleaned up nicely in a nerve wracking but successful run in the Navy Cup and are into the Champions Cup again. However the loss of the Astograth centerback before the season was felt as the club's goals conceded rose a fair amount from last season, sixteen to be exact. It is a void that the Navymen will undoubtedly look to fill during the offseason and hopefully before the start of CC play. On Vyinta, it was much of the same as Ibini decided to win the title once more. It all could be coming to a head though as there is talk of in the next few years a new league system being put in place after the goverment's expansion and new cities popping up into it. It may well be that Ibini will at last find itself truly tested in a full season against the EPL sides. For now, they will take their Globe Cup spot and the money they have become accustomed to, ensuring their continued dominance. Just like RCU though, and the entire Vanorian league system, it is a dominance that can be destroyed quickly if the right circumstances present themselves.

Bid for the hosting of the 40th Globe and Series B Champions' Cups

[Eilifint Bhán] National Stadium – Ballyfeeaknock – 53,683

Cumann Sacair an Tearmann in partnership with the National Stadium Management Co. Ltd (1093) wish to put forward the 53,683 seater National Stadium as a candidate venue for the finals of both or either of the 40th Globe Cup and the 40th Series B Champions' Cup. Recently constructed as the centrepiece of Ancharmunn's co-hosting of the 52nd Cup of Harmony the National Stadium offers a superb venue which meets the very latest standards in design, safety and comfort and finally provides Ancharmunn with a world class national venue for football. Spectator comfort was placed at the heart of the design process and as a result every spectator at the National Stadium is guaranteed a seat that not only provides optimum leg room but also has a completely unrestricted view of the field of play and at least one of two video screens.

Not only does the National Stadium offer spectators comfort whilst at the venue but also in travelling to and from the venue thanks to it's location in the heart of Ballyfeeaknock, Ancharmunn's thriving capital. At just 20 minutes comfortable walk from the very heart of Ballyfeeaknock's centre the National Stadium is easy to reach on foot, a number of public transport links however make sure that those of all abilities are able to easily make their way to the venue. A total of six bus routes serve stops within a couple of minutes walk of the stadium, whilst two stations on separate lines of the city's reliable and fast metro rail network also serve the stadium.

Not only is the National Stadium a world class venue for Charmunnry football, but if selected for either the Globe Cup of Series B Champions' Cup finals it will prove to be a world class venue for UICA football.
I'm not on the Greenwich Meridian so my time is a few seconds behind. Bear that in mind.
