Licentian Football – First Half of the Season

Premier League

Licentiapacisterran Premier League Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Montfort Wanderers 11 7 3 1 22 7 +15 24
2 A.F.C. Farnworth 11 6 4 1 14 5 +9 22
3 Abingdon Celtic 11 6 2 3 17 13 +4 20
4 Marley Town 11 5 3 3 16 13 +3 18
5 SC Montfort 11 5 3 3 20 18 +2 18
6 Houghton Rangers 11 4 1 6 14 16 −2 13
7 Carrington United 11 3 3 5 15 16 −1 12
8 Colesham Athletic 11 3 3 5 11 12 −1 12
9 Rivermouth F.C. 11 3 2 6 11 18 −7 11
10 Garton County 11 2 5 4 10 17 −7 11
11 Glenmount Town 11 2 4 5 14 18 −4 10
12 St Bart's 11 3 1 7 8 19 −11 10

So, at the halfway point, the Wanderers have the lead, and Tom Lucan’s side are returning to glory after being beaten out by SC. Celtic are also improved on where they were at this point last season, holding third place, and a Globe Cup place. The other two teams who occupy UICA places aren’t as expected. AFC Farnworth and Marley Town, two small town teams with few representatives in the national team, are holding second and fourth respectively, with Farnworth only 2 points adrift of the Wanderers at the top of the league. Last year’s champions SC are just outside of Marley on goal difference.

At the bottom of the table, the pride of the Barrier Islands, St Bart’s, sit at the bottom of the table, with ten points and a goal difference of -11. The side sold Evan Russell to Bayern Phoenix of Taeshan, and this may have costed them, as they have failed to stay out of the relegation spots. Glenmount aren’t in a much better position, sitting above St Bart’s on goal difference. Garton and Rivermouth are only one point ahead of the bottom two, but the prospect of relegation seems to have worried Rivermouth, as they have managed to avoid the bottom of the table for the first time in a long time. Colesham, Carrington and Houghton, all UICA contenders, are within three points of St Bart’s at the bottom.

Second Division

Licentian Second Division Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 RSC Marley 9 4 5 0 12 8 +4 17
2 Old Corinthians 9 4 4 1 15 7 +8 16
3 Gaels 9 4 4 1 9 5 +4 16
4 Houghton Young Boys 9 3 6 0 10 6 +4 15
5 Pine AFC 9 4 2 3 6 6 0 14
6 AC Carrington 9 3 4 2 9 7 +2 13
7 Montfort University 9 3 2 4 7 8 −1 11
8 Christ Church 9 1 4 4 5 9 −4 7
9 St Thomas' Cove 9 0 4 5 5 11 −6 4
10 Garton Bay Pirates 9 1 1 7 3 14 −11 4

Despite Gaels and Corinthians being favourites, the Royals lead the league at the halfway point, in a league that currently has no team with more than 4 out of 5 wins. The only undefeated side in the league, Marley are looking like the side that will reach the Premier League that season. However, they aren’t very secure, as Corinthians and Gaels are hanging on only one point behind the only officially royally-sponsored sports club in the nation.

The fight for the fourth and final SBCC place is tight, with Young Boys currently hanging onto that place, though they are still within touching distance of Marley. Pine, based in the small hamlet that is considered to be a part of Rivermouth, are within a point of Houghton, with Athletic Club Carrington hanging on, two point away from fourth place.

At the foot of the table, Garton Bay Pirates and St Thomas’ Cove are both in trouble, with only four points to each of their names. Christ Church are only a few points ahead of them, with seven, and the Scholars from Montfort University, while unable to stay in touch with the UICA places, are currently managing to avoid the dogfight with 11 points.
This nation has now been reformed as the Licentian Isles. Please direct anything intended for me to that nation.

Pre-Season 8 Transfers and Retirements in FSSOFA Gold League

Sharp and Needle return home from Cafundeu
Lee Sharp (32, ST, FSSO) – CR Submiria (Cafundeu) > Directus - £25m
Sam Needle (29, ST, FSSO) – Dunboor FC (Cafundeu) > Bastion - £20m

Lee Sharp and Sam Needle have both returned to their old clubs in the FSSO after periods abroad. Needle returns to Bastion for £20m two years after he left the club for £27m, having had two highly successful seasons at Dunboor FC. Bastion will welcome him back with open arms – after all, he was the symbol of their title challenge and scored 37 goals in a single season. Sharp’s return has been anticipated much more. After spells at FC Mildrid, Briarmore and CR Submiria, during which he picked up much silverware, Sharp returns to the club where he really got his career going, looking to add to his tally of 250 appearances and 205 goals.

Jan Mayen break bank for Grabnyak and Parsons saga ends
Pola Grabnyak (25, AM/ST, New Hackney) – Directus > Jan Mayen Islanders (Polar Islandstates) - £27m
Chad Parsons (23, LW/LS, FSSO) – AFC Mayville > Sparta FC - £19m

Pola Grabnyak has completed a sensational move to Polarian giants Jan Mayen Islanders for a huge fee of £27m, despite him having only been at reigning champions Directus for one season. Grabnyak’s 30 goals helped his team storm to the league title last season, and before that he banged in between 20-30 goals for several seasons in a row for Holdenberg City. Now the New Hackneyian sensation is off to Polar Islandstates, with a league trophy in the bag. Meanwhile the “will he or won’t he” saga over Chad Parsons potential departure from AFC Mayville has finally ended as he opted to move to Sparta FC for £19m. Mayville may have made a £19m profit from him, but they could be overwhelmed this season without the player who has propped them up in this league.

About the Cup

The Emperor's Club Cup is designed to strengthen the ties between foreign clubs with top Gordonopian players and Gordonopian football as a whole. Hosted at Raleigh Stadium, the Cup is a round-robin tournament with four teams. The 'home team', Willingham AC, is a part of the Willingham Athletic Club, and plays its matches at the 92,000 capacity stadium. The club is well-known as the athletic club for the capitol's elite, even counting Emperor William VII as one of its members. The invitees, Iturributa United, Montbenoit, and Tarahal Lake Athletic, are foreign clubs that have top-level Gordonopian players on their rosters.

The winner will be determined after three matches, first by number of points, then by goal differential, goals scored, and finally head-to-head differential. If the tie cannot be broken at that point, the leading teams will play an extra match. The winner will take home the Henry Raleigh Memorial Trophy, and be allowed to keep it until the next cup. Willingham AC, as well as the most recent winner, will automatically be invited back to the tournament, with the latter dependent on having a Gordonopian national on their roster.

The Teams

Image
Iturributa United

Nation: Iturributa
Nicknames: Zkarlat Bandaka (Scarlet Stripes)
Gordonopian Players: Matty Paige
Summary: One of the powerhouses of Iturributan football, and a former finalist
in the TakilQuip Champions Cup, Iturributa United is a force on the field. They
have gained a wide following within United Gordonopia due partly to the success
of Matty Paige, a young Gordonopian back who has become one of the strongest
young players in Iturributa, and a National Team starter. This fanbase within
Gordonopia was further cemented when Celeron General Aeronautics, a
division of the Imperial Gordonopia Corporation, announced that it would be
Iturributa's new shirt sponsor.
Image
Montbenoit

Nation: Saugeais
Nicknames: Dragons
Gordonopian Players: Jonathon Odell
Summary: One of the stronger teams in Saugeais, Montbenoit is now trying to
shake off a devastating string of seasons that saw them drop from UICA
contenders to relegation. In that period, they signed striker Jonathon Odell,
who is one of the foremost strikers in modern Gordonopian football. This
tournament could provide some off-season experience that may help the
team on the way to returning to form. Nevertheless, the team is still a
serious contender in the tournament, and with Odell playing his first club
match in Gordonopia in years, the team may be able to find some magic.

Image
Tarahal Lake Athletic

Nation: Yesopalitha
Nicknames: Lake Athletic, Tarahal Lake
Gordonopian Players: Michael Stahl
Summary: A solid contender in the Yesopalitha Premier Division, Tarahal
Lake Athletic is looking to ride off of its recent domestic league victory
with a win in this cup, as well as success in the upcoming Champions
Cup. The team signed national team starter Michael Stahl mid-season, and
ultimately went on to win the league. Stahl was named to the league's first
team, and has become one of the most popular Gordonopian athletes
playing abroad. As one of the leading teams in the rising Yeso leagues,
Tarahal's future looks bright.

Image
Willingham AC

United Gordonopia
Nation: United Gordonopia
Nicknames: WAC, Royals
Summary: A prestigious athletic club located in the Capitol Metropolitan Area,
Willingham AC counts Emperor William Raeigh VII among its members. It also
has one of the strongest football teams in Gordonopia. It has made it to the
Gordonopia Cup in both of its GPL seasons, and has maintained both a positive
win and goal record. By far the most successfulteam to be promoted since the
implementation of a relegation/promotion system, WAC now looks to become
one of the league's true powerhouses. Strong players, such as Iturributa's Lizaran
and National Team back Fritz Cole may just allow it to do that.

LupiCo® Melatian Premier Division: Season 1 Preview

Projected Standings

1. FC Harristown - FC Harristown is projected first on the backs of their three national team players: left midfielder Steven Graham, forward Eamon Phillips, and left fullback Aric Simpson, who captains the club. Graham and Phillips will provide a very strong attack, and Simpson will help to anchor the back along with goalie George Monroe. Overall, they are a very strong team.
2. Ogdenwich Guard - Ogdenwich Guard is the other team with three national team players, and they have possibly the best forward in the league in August Manning. Captain James Davis will help feed passes to Manning up front. William Clarke and Frank Kelly will anchor the defense which is very strong as well. They will provide FC Harristown with stiff competition.
3. Clayport City - Clayport City was the first team to import an international player: 17-year old foward Micah McSolt from Saer Republic. He and national team player Eugene Podestin will lead a strong attack. Captain George Murphy will guard the goal for this side, but the defense could use some work. Another transfer may be in order for this club, owned by actor James Cardona.
4. Ironmont FC - Ironmont FC, the only team with two national team players, boasts forward Aaron Alden up front. He is complemented by teenager Erle Cole and 22-year old Edric Putnam. These 3 players form an attacking core that will be successful for years to come. Captain Edward Lowry will command the back, as one of the best defenders in the league. Ironmont is in turmoil financially and ownership may change soon, so they will have to avoid off-field distractions to play their best.
5. Aladon United - Hayden Trengrove captains this club from between the goal posts and it will be hard for teams to score on him. Maurice Summers and Joseph Harvey play up front for Aladon, but their offense is overall, weak. They will need a good season from their defensive line in order to qualify for the Globe Cup.
6. FC Evenchester Wayne Wiederhold is the star on this team and he will be sure to score a lot of goals this year at forward. He will play along side 20-year old Demetrius Murphy. Young Freddy Liberato will anchor the back at center fullback, it will be interesting to see if he can handle the pressure of the Premier Division.
7. North Coveview FC - Glen Carwile is the national team starter at center midfielder, but his growing age is a question mark for the club in Coveview. They will surely be looking on the transfer market for a replacement. 22-year old goalkeeper Ricardo Wohlers is an up-and-coming star, but his inexperience will hurt North Coveview FC this year.
8. Moorview Junction FC - One of the youngest teams in the league, Moorview Junction FC has no players over 27 in the starting XI. Captain Dave Hulman is only 24, but his presence at right midfield will help keep the team stable. He and Daryl Shasteen will be rocks in the midfield. Up front, Will Beede will be depended upon for goals.
9. Owenspalm United - Preston Pili is the youngest captain in the league at age 23, and he will be between the goalposts for the Hands. Rob Kouyate is already a starter on the national tea at age 21, and he will be very important at center back. The backfield is full of question marks with 4 out of 5 starters under 24. 18-year old Rudolph Uram will need to score, otherwise, this could be a dismal year for Owenspalm United.
10. Lanstead FC - With captain Brian Boehmke at center back, Lanstead is looking pretty good defensively. But they have an inexperienced front line including 22-year old Fidel Begley and 19-year old Sol Hammond that may struggle with the pressure of the Premier Division. With this in mind, a middle-of-the-pack finish for Lanstead FC would be good, and their future is as bright as any club's in the league.
11. Woodton FC - Woodton FC has Alan Mullin at right back and he and left back Carl Weeks will be the keys to this club's season. Center midfielder Stephen Torre narrowly missed out on a national team spot, but he will be playing with something to prove and a chip on his shoulder. At forward, Vincent Manto will be a force to be reckoned with.
12. Clarksburgh FC - Goalkeeper Jeff Camino will be strong between the pipes, but the rest of the defense is full of holes for Clarksburgh FC. Left back Harold Bornhorst is coming off of an injury, and many speculated he would retire rather than continue playing. He is back on the field, but is he at 100%? Forward sensation Dan Munoz will make a splash this year, but his inexperience will be a negative.
13. South Aladon FC - Another team with an international player, South Aladon has a strong backfield, with Saer Republic player Sage Rylan at left back and Morris Wichman at center back. With both under 22, this combination will only improve in future seasons. Captain Bryan Loudon will be the best player on the attack, but the rest of the attack is shaky. This may not be South Aladon FC's year, but they will improve for future seasons.
14. Appleworth FC - A very defensive team, Appleworth FC is led by captain/goalkeeper Micah Slunaker and left midfielder Emmanuel Lanot. Slunaker is getting up their in age and nearing retirement, so Appleworth FC will be looking for a replacement for him. Also feautered are teenage fullbacks Billy Mucahey and Pierre Conran. They will be key to the future of this team.
15. Parkvania FC - This team builds from the center up, with four of the team's best five players playing in the middle. Goalkeeper Gerardo Ruhenkamp, center fullback William Cords, center midfielder Lenny Perro, and center forward Dominic Gazda are all key for the success of this team. Cords and Perro are getting old and have a lost a step, so replacing them will be at the top of the list of things to do for these teams. Gazda is on the rise and will be a player to look out for this year.
16. Aladon FC - A youthful team whose captain, right midfielder Nick Vacha, is only 26, the team's best player is 22-year old right back Rafael Starin, whose play has earned him a spot on the Melatian national team. He is joined by fellow youngsters Thaddeus Freeman (goalkeeper, 23 years old), Geoff Berzin (left midfielder, 25 years old), and Henry Naumhoff (forward, 24 years old). This pack of players will be key in the future, but their inexperience will land Aladon FC near the bottom of the pack.
17. Riverdale FC - One of four teams with no Melatian National Team players, Riverdale FC will be led by right fullback/captain Colby Davies, who will be tasked with teaching center fullback Michael Averill the ways of the Premier Division. Averill, a player with huge upside, has only played soccer for a few years: prior to this he was an ice hockey player. His play this year will be key for this team. Up front, Riverdale FC has Andrew Wallace, who is supported by Jamar Sowards in the midfield. This team is one or two years away from competing for the championship.
18. Highgrove United - This team is a story of all defense, no offense. With the defense they have, they could be contending for the championship, with Danny Jenkins at center fullback, Louis Keller at right fullback, and Jim Ault at goalkeeper. However, their offense will be weak, with untested 19-year old Manuel Gonzalez up front. Their future is bright, but will it be in the Premier Division, or the Secondary Division.
19. Chatdorm FC - Another young team, the sole veteran on Chatdorm FC is right midfielder Louie Parlor, who also captains the side. Around him is a cast of young, untested players, such as forward Eli Sorice and center midfielder Stephen Zacker. The team will struggle on defense, with unproven goalkeeper Phillip Bunk keeping guard between the posts. This team's future lies in the Secondary Division.
20. Perry FC - Just like Highgrove United, Perry FC has the defense to win, but the offense needs to catch up. The defense is headed by fullbacks Pete Vanderheide and Jon Marczak, who will help protect young goalkeeper Malcolm Quintero. The offense will be feeble, with young Ed Pasquarella the main threat up front in an otherwise lukewarm attack. This will be a hard year for Perry FC, and they will be in the Secondary Division next year.

Beaverriver Soccer Leagues Season 13
Beaverriver Soccer Association announced a name change to the top league in Beaverriver to the Beaverriver National Premier League. Also they announced that there's now a 4th tier featured in Beaverriver's Top Promotion and relegation system and is split by East and West.

Name changes from last Season:
Gutpool GFC -> Union SC
Timbers 86 -> Timbers 75

Beaverriver National Premier League
Corny Town weren't expected to repeat due to the pattern that a league champion usually doesn't repeat championship. The championship was expected to be contested between Bunnifon and Baeten SC. Salvan City, Derpington City, and Nice VC were expected to be relegated to Beaverriver Division Two
Image
Kilington SC Achieves it's first League Championship in club history while Bafoon EC and Bunnifon returns to the Globe Cup with the same spot as last time and Lots o' Love taking second and earning a Globe Cup Spot. Both last year's division 2 champion, AFC Kawall and division 1 runner up, Baeten SC gets relegated along with Eran SUC

Beaverriver Division 2

Rose City was the expected runner up in the league only behind last year's cup champion Tributary Town
Image
ION Athletic Club achieves first division status and their first championship in club history with expected cellar dweller, Beast SC getting promoted along with Hilly Village
Another top to bottom happened as Rose City goes from 4th to 20th. Corvan FC is relegated again back to the League they came from and Newbie YSC gets its first league change by being relegated.

Since Pacific City, Seaside, and Mount Barry finished in a three-way tie for second place, we held three tiebreaker matches to determine who would play Spatula City (also defending champions from last season) for the League Championship.
Tiebreaker Matches

Mount Barry 1–2 Pacific City

After another long hiatus, organised football in Stuffed Taxidermists returns. With the nation once again collapsing into a dark age of no communication, many thought there would be no football ever again. They were wrong. The league keeps the same formation as the previous season, with 20 teams, although some teams such as Gonesville Eels, Herseld Nationals and Wostone have folded. The teams are now mostly made up of former amateurs on low salaries, and none of the previous stars such as David Smith, Machiavelli or Simonelli Deranoi Meralda remain. Some descendants of these players, such as Bailey Smith (grandson of David Smith) and Fernando Ronazo (son of legendary striker Horhae Ronazo) have been drafted to their fathers clubs. The league looks to be very even this season, and nobody can seem to pick a winner.

Well, you can hardly say it was a surprise that Nochinville won the league, as all the teams were so evenly matched, but still, it was a surprise. Even though it is a whole new league with brand new players, people were still surprised to see the dominance of the big four (Eastern Rangers, Cape Renko, Thaplace City Tigers and Denzio Demons) fade away. Nochinville were great all year and thoroughly deserved their top spot, their captain Juwqueza leading them on with 29 great goals and 18 assists. Another surprising standout for Nochinville was Cameron Hensley (21), who did not show much promise before the season but shone as the best midfielder for Nochinville throughout the season. Honda FC burst into a delightful second, and you can definitely say that one was unexpected. Although the squads are fairly even, Honda’s was thought to be one of the weakest. Retuka Town did well coming third, and Wanderers rounded out the top four with a respectable placing. The top four teams in the League will earn a significant payout now, which will mean the will probably dominate next season, and we can expect a spending spree from all four of the teams. Brenton Athletic, Leads City and Southern FC were all relegated, and their seasons left something to desire, but they weren’t that bad for a relegated team. The many supporters of Thaplace City Tigers were left dumbfounded after their team just barely avoided relegation, and they could be in trouble in the coming seasons.

Machiavelli Medal (Award for best player): Daniel Gysobia

Gramsome FC 1-0 Mantanio Mikala CA (1-2 agg)

Final
Port Travis 1-2 Mantanio Mikala CA (1-2 agg)

The Second Division was interesting, and it was Quendo United who ended up winning by a comfortable (in the circumstances) margin of five points over Port Montagna. The Playoffs were contested between Port Travis, Mantanio Mikala CA, Gramsome FC and Zenton FC, with Gramsome and Zenton gone in the Semi Finals. Mantanio Mikala CA went on to beat Port Travis in the final, in front of a packed crowd at Thaplace International Stadium, scoring the winner in the 79th minute. Three Time former winners of the First Division, Western Hillmen, finished in a disappointing 16th, only two spots clear of a bottom three place. Dalefield Town, Applecross Jets and Northern FC found themselves lucky that there were no relegation spots this season, although there probably will be next season, and they will have to be wary.

Overall, both leagues were extremely exciting and the similar nature to the squads probably made it the closest ever. It is likely that next season Stuffed Taxidermists will be sending teams to the Continental competitions, be adding a Third Division, and re-introducing the ST Cup, so there is a great season to look forward to.

Just a reminder of the representants of NSI to the UICA tournaments. We ain't having a National Cup this season, so no representants to the Cygnus Cup.

This makes the International Representants List become:
Champions' Cup
Matthew City Senators
Globe Cup
Mardi Lopunnies
Mabel Wigglytuffs
Lynder Frosslasses
Series B Champions' Cup
Selyne City Athenians
Brighton City Hove
Lillepool Dragons
Baselin Freezers

Given that the Cygnus Cup is billed as a "cup-winners cup", I fail to see how you think you're getting away with that.

Icemark Season Review

The King's Cup

The season kick-started with the newly formed King’s Cup. A competition where the league and Shield winners of the previous season met. The Curtain raiser saw Shield winners Learton need extra time to defeat league champions, Frostmarris

Frostmarris 2–2 Learton (2–3 AET)

The Icemark Football League II

Bendis have been hailed as the immortals after winning the second Icemark League, and not losing a single game on their way to the title. Michael’s Bay continue to surprise, as the smallest club in the league finished second, just four points behind the leaders. A poor start from the defending champions, Frostmarris cost them dearly, though they did recover the finish in third spot.
The final Globe Cup spot went to Old Haven who finished above a much improved Inglesby. It was a disappointing campaign for Learton though. The runners-up of the previous season could only manage sixth place. Pendris had the unfortunate title of claiming the wooden spoon, having won only two games all season. Wearford finished just above them, a notable improvement on their debut season where they didn’t record a single win.

Frostmarris 4–0 Wearford
Bendis 3–0 Pendris
Learton 3–1 Allenby
Old Haven 2–1 Collingham
Michael's Bay 2–0 Middlehampton
Inglesby 2–0 Crawsby
Barrowby 1–0 Bolby

Wearford 1–2 Bolby
Crawsby 1–1 Barrowby
Middlehampton 0–3 Inglesby
Collingham 1–2 Michael's Bay
Allenby 0–2 Old Haven
Pendris 0–4 Learton
Frostmarris 2–3 Bendis

Bendis 4–0 Wearford
Learton 3–3 Frostmarris
Old Haven 3–0 Pendris
Michael's Bay 1–0 Allenby
Inglesby 2–0 Collingham
Barrowby 1–0 Middlehampton

The Icemark Shield

Bendis secured the domestic double with a 2-1 win over Learton in The Icemark Shield Final. Their victory means they will have to do double duty in the Cygnus Cup, alongside the Champion’s Cup next season. Learton, the previous holders of the cup had a good run to the final knocking out both Frostmarris and Old Haven on route. But retaining the Shield against the unbeatables was a task too far for a team that had on the whole had an average year.

Round One

2nd Preliminary Round
Ithaca Big Red (Virabia) 1 – 1 Frostmarris
Frostmarris 1 – 2 Ithaca Big Red (Virabia)

Globe Cup

Bendis suffered their only defeat of the season in the Globe Cup, being hammered 4-0 by Ojian of Taeshan. It was their first contest of the season, before the domestic matches began, and they wouldn’t know defeat again. In the reverse fixture a week later, they regained their pride in a 3-3 draw. They wouldn’t look back.
Frostmarris would have a remarkable run in the Globe Cup, making it to the Knock-out stages. After getting through their qualifying tie on away goals, they would qualify through their group with a final day surprise win over Haitens. They were undone in the last 16 by Turoki Tide, but will still take some comfort in the fact they managed to defeat the more experienced side in the home leg.

The Democratic States Football Association presents

The Fenbarric Football League

The Fenbarric Shield

The inaugural Fenbarric Shield, in which the previous season's League and Cup winners play each other in the opening game of the season. In a replay of last years Cup final, League holders MK Killers managed to continue their good form and overcome Oldcastle Athletic in a tense match.

Last season's League winners: MK Killers

Last season Cup winners: Oldcastle Athletic

MK Killers 2-1 Oldcastle Athletic

The Fenton Cup

Last year, Oldcastle Athletic beat MK Killers 4-3 in an amazing match, after both had difficult runs to the final. This year however, they met in the semis, and this time MK Killers were triumphant, after a thrilling away leg at the Latic Tower. In the final, New Beetle's hopes of a first ever trophy were dashed by a brilliant MK Killers side, although they had to work for it, twice going behind, before a late winner from Captain Hurst secured them the trophy.

Quarter Final Results:

MK Killers 4-2 Queens FC
Queens FC 2-3 MK Killers
AGG: MK Killers 7-4 Queens FC

Dark Destroyers 2-3 Oldcastle Athletic
Oldcastle Athletic 1-0 Dark Destroyers
AGG: Dark Destroyers 2-4 Oldcastle Athletic

Killers FC 4-2 MK City
MK City 3-2 Killers FC
AGG: Killers FC 6-5 MK City

Flippers 0-2 New Beetle
New Beetle 0-0 Flippers
AGG: Flippers 0-2 New Beetle

Semi-Final Results:

MK Killers 1-0 Oldcastle Athletic
Oldcastle Athletic 2-2 MK Killers
AGG: MK Killers 3-2 Oldcastle Athletic

Killers FC 2-2 New Beetle
New Beetle 1-0 Killers FC
AGG: Killers FC 2-3 New Beetle

Final Result:

MK Killers 3-2 New Beetle

The Tri-Cup

A strange format, in which last year's winner (Queens FC) is not allowed to take part. The remaining nine teams are split into three groups, and play a match against each other. The three winners go into a final group, where the winner is crowned champion, and does not qualify for next season's tournament. The tournament is renowned for having unexpected, and neither MK Killers or Oldcastle Athletic qualified for the final group. However, two other heavyweights - Zinkak and Destroyers - did, and then the final table was very strange: All the matches were draws, and so Dark Destroyers won on goals scored: 5 to Zinkak's 4, and in doing so, they won their first major title.

Group 1

Killers FC 2-0 Arrow Rovers
Arrow Rovers 4-0 New Beetle
New Beetle 1-4 Killers FC

Group 2

Oldcastle Athletic 1-3 MK City
MK City 1-3 Zinkak United
Zinkak United 1-1 Oldcastle Athletic

Group 3

Flippers 2-4 Dark Destroyers
Dark Destroyers 3-3 MK Killers
MK Killers 1-3 Flippers

Final Group

Killers FC 1-1 Zinkak United
Zinkak United 3-3 Dark Destroyers
Dark Destroyers 2-2 Killers FC

Dark Destroyers win on goals scored (5), ZIN (4), KIL (3), after equal points and goal difference.

The Fenbarric Football League

It was another enticing League season, as MK Killers won their second successive title, again by a single point. Flippers, who got their highest ever finish in second place, didn't lose a single game, but their inability to kill a game off meant they lost the title.

MK Killers 3-0 Arrow Rovers
Killers FC 0-3 Flippers
MK City 3-3 New Beetle
Oldcastle Athletic 2-0 Dark Destroyers
Zinkak United 2-2 Queens FC
Flippers 3-3 MK Killers
New Beatle 1-3 Arrow Rovers

Postby The Babbage Islands » Sat Aug 18, 2012 4:21 am

The Football Federation of Babbage nominate the following clubs to international competition in the cycle of the 42nd Champions' Cup, with reference to the results of the most recently completed season:

Champions' Cup: FK Maribor, Belgium FC.
Globe Cup: OGC Nancy, Great Falls Cymru, Sporting Boulder.
Series B Champions' Cup: West Scoville Tigers, Blue Ridge FC, South Side AC, AC Santa Catalina.
Cygnus Cup: Celtic-Southland.

FFB also bid to host the major UICA championships as follows:

Champions' Cup -- Ijak-Nash Stadium in Paris, Verne, capacity 71,717. Ijak-Nash was the site of the World Cup 60 final between The Holy Empire and FSSO. It is the home of FĈB club Parisian and one of the seven stadia in the rotation to host late rounds of the Islands Cup each year. As described by prominent netwriter Kathy Maclaren leading up to its opening:

And it's the grand opening of Ijak-Nash Stadium, the biggest arena in The Babbage Islands. It will seat over 70,000 people and will be the new home of Parisian in the FĈB. It's named, obviously, for the two national footballing legends of the World Cup 49-53 era. . . .

On the north end of the new stadium there are no seats, just a massive multi-story glass-and-steel circular building called the Great Hall of Football. (You can get seats at almost ground level in the Hall for a match. But they're really, really expensive.)

The Paris authorities wanted to lure the World Cup Hall of Fame to Paris, but negotiations broke down. Yet the Great Hall of Football tells a visual story of the world game. I was here two days ago for the soft opening of the Hall, and it's well worth the visit. (The official dedication is just before the match, stadium and museum and all.)

The main exhibit floor is defined by two enormous circles. The inner ring is an enormous circle of towering flagpoles adorned, in chronological order, with the flags of all 59 nations inducted to the World Cup Nation Hall of Fame. They don't take up the whole circle yet. There is room for more. A bit of creative ventilation stirs the flags gently in the indoor setting.

The outer ring has 295 shorter pillars. Each displays information about one of the nations that has appeared in the World Cup tournament. They're in order by Cup, then alphabetically for each Cup's debuting nations. Two exceptions to this order are Crosshill on the first pillar as the champions of World Cup 1 and The Babbage Islands as the first pillar in sequence among the World Cup 49 class. Like the flagpoles, there should be enough room to add nations up to World Cup 70 or so.

There's a nice asymmetry to the placements too. The first flag in the inner ring is in the east winding counterclockwise; the first pillar in the outer ring is in the west winding clockwise.

Series B Champions' Cup -- The U.F.O. (Universal Football Oval) in Cardston, Gibson, capacity after recent addition 40,004. The retractable-roof U.F.O. is home to Cardston FC and the Babbage code club Cardston Space Cadets. Like Ijak-Nash, The U.F.O. is in the Islands Cup host rotation.
NS World Cup: Runner-up 55/59; Third place 50/52/58/62/63; Host 49/54/60.

L'Association Sportive de Bezieres, in a joint venture with the Gouvernorat de Foix, the Mairie de Bezieres, and the Valladar Football Association, would like to bring to the attention of UICA and the international footballing community in general a bid to host the 42nd Champions' Cup final at the Stade de Foix-Jules Picot, now the most modern stadium built in Valladares.

This stadium is located in the Lezennes district of Bezieres, to the east of the city. Nicknamed "Le Chaudron" by ASB fans, Stade Jules Picot was built in 1975 as a 38,000-seat stadium named in honour to Jules Picot, a renowned Foixien athlete who also performed an important role as AS Bezieres chairman for about 8 years, and designed it to be able to be used for both association football and athletics, but regrettably, passed away months before its inauguration in September 1975. The old stadium was used by the football team ever since, however, it was always subject to heavy complaints from ASB fans due to the distance between the pitch and the stands, increased even more by the athletics track.

Since Rèmy de Saint-Lorent bought the 100% of the shares of the club before the fifth VSL season, the club had considered the idea to buy the stadium from the local authorities and build a new one in the same site, idea which was materialized almost 15 seasons later by an agreement in which the club would get the stadium in exchange for some land owned by Mr. de Saint-Lorent, which were to be used to build a new athletics stadium. Therefore, the old Jules Picot was closed at the end of VSL 23 and demolished in order to make way for the new stadium. Since then, the Jules Picot underwent radical remodeling works which converted it to a football-only stadium, eliminating the athletics track and bringing the stands closer to the pitch, increasing its capacity to 63,170 seated fans.

"Le Chaudron" during an ASB game before its remodelation.

The new stadium was also equipped with a retractable roof, four giant LED screens, each one of them facing one stand of the new stadium, three new rows of VIP and executive boxes, located in the main grandstand between the first and second levels, a new restaurant also located in the main stand, and a new museum dedicated to AS Bezieres located at the entrance to the north stand, also called Tribune Paul Boulard, and known as the place where ASB's hardcore fans will usually sit during every match. With AS Bezieres' takeover of the stadium and its conversion to a football-only stadium, it was also scheduled to be renamed to Stade de Foix, however, the Picot family strongly opposed to the dropping of any reference to Jules Picot from the stadium's name, even if the stadium's usual athletics activities were going to be moved elsewhere. Therefore, it will be named as aforementioned.

This joint venture would like, with this bid, to offer UICA a unique opportunity to feature a big international football match like the Champions' Cup final as a stadium curtain-raiser, and should the stadium is elected as the host for the final match, AS Bezieres will committ to host all their home matches during the Champions' Cup at another different venue, this in order to guarantee that the Champions' Cup final would be the very first event to be hosted at the newly renovated stadium.

Thanks for your attention.

19th Century Beards domestic league, season 2

So another season of football in 19th Century Beards rolls by. Almost everything was the same as the first season, games were played on Sundays at the same pitch. Attendance rose a little, corresponding with the population growth 19th Century Beards was seeing at the time, and the strange 'legacy' of being runners up of Campionato Esportiva II might have helped a little too. I know it may sound ridiculous, but it can prepare you for a distant future when Val Kylx has to retire. It can also help you write a creative RP.

Scrap that, Birolika's idea is awesome.

That might be the first time one of my ideas hasn't been met with the response, "Fine, but where are you going to get all those yaks from?"
