International Basketball Championships 42
Signups
Hello friend, welcome to THE competition. You know why you're here, this is your chance to carve your name into history by winning the premier basketball tournament in the NationStates Multiverse. Do your players have what it takes? Can they deal with the pre-tournament hype, can they live up to the challenge of competing against the best of the best…do they want to hoop at the park or are they here to WIN on the biggest court?
This is the 42nd edition of the International Basketball Championship, fresh off Ko-oren winning their second championship...why shouldn't this one be yours?! Any nation can signup, even YOU, and we welcome first time participants! Here we go then, time to get your starting five set, figure out your rotation, and make sure you got the right 6th man for your playstyle because this is the IBC baby. We got the best of the best DESPERATE to write their name into the fabric of legend…what are you going to do to make that trophy yours!?
Puppet rules
Each user may sign up one puppet in addition to their main nation; ownership of the puppet must be declared. Entry of puppet nations into the tournament is at the host's discretion and it is advised that puppet nations may be the first excluded in the interests of keeping numbers to a workable limit. Hosts are not obliged to accept puppets in the order they signed up, however, and the in/exclusion of puppets is entirely their prerogative.
Host bidding
Anyone may bid to host, on their own or in collaboration with another user. In order to meet the minimum standards of a host bid, it is expected that your bid will outline the format for the tournament, and provide a method of scorination, such as the basketball function of xkoranate or some other scorinator. Hosts are encouraged to remember the impact of AI in their bids. Because this is international basketball, scorinators based on FIBA scoring, rather than scoring in the NBA or other domestic leagues, are generally expected to be used. Members of the IBO will vote on the host bid options.
