The Eagle's Club is proud to present Eagles Cup, an invitational trophy contested by the winners of the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy and the Cup of Champions hosted by the Eagles Club. 16+ esteemed nations from throughout the multiverse will compete over 9 Matchdays to lift the Eagle's Cup and earn their place in the Eagle's Club, securing their place as a competitor and potential host in future editions of the tournament.

Format :: The 16* nations will be split into two 8-team sub-competitions. Each competition will have two groups where 4 teams will play each other nation twice*, once at a stadium of their choosing and once at a stadium of their opponents choosing. The first sub-competition is the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy which traces direct lineage to the original Eagle's Cup including the representatives from the Eagle's Club and At-Large entrants. The second sub-competition is the Cup of Champions, tracing a direct lineage to the... Cup of Champions... and representing only WCC Sanctioned, Major Event & Select Confederation Champions. From there, the top 2 nations in each group table will advance to the Semi-Final round of each half to be held at official Eagle's Club locations. The winners of these Semi-Final matches will receive a special trophy from the Eagle's Club that also grants the nations honorary status with the Eagle's Club for one competition cycle and advance to the Final of their half. The winners of the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy and Cup of Champions will advance to the Eagle's Cup Championship match presented by Cocoa-bo where the winner will be crowned overall champion and granted permanent entry into the Eagle's Club and construction of an official Eagles Club venue. A third place playoff will also be contested back at the Eagle's Club where medals for the Top Three finishers in the overall will be awarded.

Venues:
Eagles Club, Select and Champions Group stage matches are standard 4-team group stages with Home & Away fixtures. *Regional Groups will see two consecutive 4-team single round robin groups with seeds based on final position in the most recent Cup of Champions Confederations Group phase.
Knockout Round Matches shall be played at an official Eagle's Club location (See List Below) with preference to the Eagle's Club facility of the highest Seed unless no suitable Venue is available. The Final Venue for the Cup of Champions and Eagle's Cup may be contested at a non-Eagles Club sanctioned stadium within the home nation of an Eagles Club member for the purpose of attendance and venue sizing.
The Final for the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy shall be contested at Eagle's Club, Brinemouth, Nephara
The Final for the Cup of Champions shall be contested at the Northcote Oval, Prescott, Electrum
The Final match of the competition shall be the Eagle's Cup Bronze Medal match to be contested at The Eagles Club where all medals will be awarded in a final ceremony.

The proper Eagle's Cup XV is 4 matches including the Cup of Champions Final, Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy Final, Eagle's Cup Gold Medal and Bronze Medal Games. These games will (ICly) be contested along the Rushmori Coast in Centralis, Electrum and Brinemouth, Nephara. Due to the lack of a Mandalusa Regioinal Competition, Mandalanusa's highest ranked nation, Pemuctan, has been invited and will compete in the Eagle's Select Group while the Confederations Group will be a full 6 matchday event.

THE TUMBRAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Black Eagles

Image

IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: For all intents and purposes, this Tumbra that began contesting in WCQ87 is an entirely new nation. They have no recollection of their earlier exploits from WC70-80, because that simply didn't exist for this Tumbra. Any and all similarities to the nation of the similar name can and should be construed as glitches in the Multiverse. You may, however, make muted references to "having done this before" or something. For a detailed explanation of how this came to be, read these RPs.

The Tumbran National Football Team is Tumbra's main representative in all association football competitions for national associations. Making its debut at the 87th World Cup Qualifiers, the team currently ranks 4th in the world. The team is controlled by the Tumbran Football Federation, which is also the governing body of football in Tumbra. Also known as the Black Eagles, or affectionately the Eagles, the team competes in the World Cup and its related competitions. The team also participates in the Campionato Esportiva, also sends teams to the Di Bradini Cup for Under-21s, and the Under-18 World Cup. The team have won the 51st edition of the former tournament and the 13th edition of the latter tournament; which has led to a keen emphasis on bleeding youth into the national team set-up early. With a loyal travelling contingent of supporters known as the Black Army, the Tumbran national team's support will be on display throughout this tournament, with lots of tifos and loud cheers expected throughout matches.

The Black Eagles return, with a new home stadium and a squad eager to make the fifteenth edition of the Eagles' Cup their third successive win. Though there is still quite a bit of doubt over where the team will end up, their entry is guaranteed thanks to the bylaws of the Eagles' Cup — even if they've never actually played in the group that's been reserved for Eagles' Cup members.

The Manager

Yuan, 62, managed the Yuezhou Dragons in their debut cycle in the World Cup, finishing a miraculous third as a ninth seed, before bringing Yuezhou to the quarterfinals of the Copa Rushmori 36. A difficult start to the World Cup 87 cycle saw him lose his job, however. Slated to take on the job at AC Valanari, visa issues meant he was never able to take on the job — and was a free agent until the approach from the national team to replace the recently-departed Marco Hemmings. Prior to his foray in international football, he also served as a coach for WNS Nangang. Since joining the Tumbran national football team, he has brought it to great success; qualifying for the World Cup in all four cycles he's been with the country now, reaching the semi-finals on the third time of asking; and two regional titles, to boot.

Touted as a defensive manager, Yuan chose to set the Dragons up with five defenders during his time with them; but has already indicated his preference for playing with four at the back in Tumbra. Utilising an aggressive midfield press, the Black Eagles fall into a 5-4-1 in defence, with the defensive midfielder dropping back to provide an extra man in defence. With the ball, it's fast, one-touch counterattacking; constant running is the name of the game here.

Tumbra will name eleven starters and fifteen names on the bench, with up to five substitutes. In the unlikely event that they make it to extra time, a sixth substitute will be taken. Tumbra will not play for penalties and will try as often as possible to finish a match in ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes.

Team name: Græntfjall
Trigram: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym/adjective: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Snow Wolves

Coach: Image Ingþór Auðbjörnsson
Assistant coach: Image Saxi Dómaldsson

Thor had two tough jobs on taking over as manager: living up to the standards set by Valhalla-bound Igrene Cantor, and improving the woeful Copa Rushmori record of the Snow Wolves. One Copa Rushmori title later… It may be early to judge but Thor has at least seemed to settle in nicely, perhaps reflecting his already having found a welcoming home in Græntfjall, where has has previously served as manager of GT Molding, taking the club to their first silverware in decades with the Cup, then next season winning the league title and then repeating the trick. His more attacking approach has proved something of a culture shock for a Snow Wolves that very nearly won the World Cup without bothering to score any goals in regulation, but they adapted to play some free-flowing, fascinating, fun football in the Copa. During World Cup qualifying poor set-piece defense began to emerge as a recurrent issue, but he still took them to the World Cup quarterfinals, going out only in extra time to Valanora. Another successful Copa Rushmori, reaching the final, followed. Former U18 assistant manager Saxi Dómaldsson continues as assistant.

Squad: A 26-person squad has been named for the tournament, and we will use five substitutes per game.
  • Names. -son names are men, -dóttir names women. Græntfjallers are comfortable having their first name used instead of their surnames, though there’s no consistent standard on this. Harmony is a Kamdyr, a member of a minority nomadic community that does not use the patronymic standard. Hanif and Ayaan are often referred to without the patronymic i.e. Hanif Anwar and Ayaan Kabir; Hermione generally goes by Hermione Hui outside of Græntfjall.
  • Transfers. The financial status of football in Græntfjall is improving, and million+ NS$ contracts are increasingly common. But because the GPL isn’t especially strong, most NT players and hopefuls ply their trade abroad. I normally conduct transfers through the Transfer Window but if you have a desire to sign a player I am usually open to arranging a transfer outside that; send a TG/DM. I am particularly open to such deals when linked to an ongoing RP story.
  • Style of play. In general, Græntfjaller players are athletic and have excellent whole-match fitness, disciplined, and not prone to violence or emotional outbursts. They are, however, not tremendously skilled. A particular type of footballer, nicknamed “BFG” (Big Fucking Græntfjaller), is associated with the country, normally playing in roles such as center back, defensive midfielder, or center forward. The new crop of, predominantly though not exclusively, female central midfielders somewhat eschew this stereotype and there have been growing attempts to get more skilful players into the lineup, most notably Sara Kristoffersdóttir and Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir.
  • Tournament philosophy: Græntfjall has traditionally approached the Eagl’e’s’ Cup in a slightly experimental spirit, while at the same time aiming to put out a team capable of playing at international level. Previous selection criteria have included: all domestic players, all women, players who had previously missed out on playing at the Eagl’e’s’ Cup, and a representative from each of the prior 23 international squads. This time, there's a lot of fresh, but not entirely new, faces. Though relatively few players here were part of the CR42 squad, most have represented the country, usually at youth/junior level. Most have spent the majority of their pro careers domestically, and the aim is to help them with conditioning through exposure to the hot Multinesian weather. Though initially named as part of the squad, Jan and Tinni have been stood down through injury.
  • Captaincy. With Sara K sitting this tournament out and Johanna receiving a surprise recall, she slots back in as captain. It is possible she will not start every match; if she does not, we will default to an elective model and you may choose my captain.
  • Timing. In my timeline this occurs 1 year after the last CR and 2 years after the WC. It occurs in the winter immediately before WCQ begins; it does not overlap with the WCQs OR DBC in my canon. It occurs after TW38 has concluded and any players signed during this period will be on their new team.

Home arena: National High Performance Sports Center, Græntfjaller Multinesia

For Græntfjaller Eagl’e’s’ Cup teams, it has become a tradition for all ‘home’ games to be played at the National High Performance Sports Center. This obviates any home advantage and may in fact disadvantage Græntfjaller players who have previously struggled in tropical conditions, but there is a clear secondary aim of gaining experience in the conditions, which are likely to be hot and humid, but not unbearably so.

The NHPSC is a large multi-sports complex featuring training areas for almost every Olympic and other major sport that Græntfjall competes in. The stadium has now met its full planned capacity of 50,000 and is up to full international standards, though corporate hospitality remains limited in availability. The NHPSC is based in Græntfjaller Multinesia, the largest constituent island of the Græntfjaller South Indies. Where these lie is somewhat confusing as those consulting the Rushmori regional map will find no reference to them: they certainly exist though and lie in tropical oceans far to the south east/west/up/down/strange/charm/other of the Græntfjaller mainland.

The Græntfjaller South Indies were the only major colonial possession of the Queendom captured during the Age of Piracy. During the 20th century, Græntfjall fell under communist rule and the islands were granted independence, an unfortunate oversight which was quickly corrected in the immediate post-communist era, welcoming the islanders back under the benevolent and wise rule of the mainland, which has brought them many modern amenities such as industrial strip-mining of the landscape, while employment opportunities abound in the sweatshops of the Export Processing Zones that, free from international labor regulations, are veritable hives of industry churning out produce for the Græntfjaller and international markets nearly round-the-clock! Many natural beauty spots have been preserved, however, most of them now playing home to luxury vacation resorts, private residences, and golf courses.

There is a naval base, multiple air strips, and a full marine battalion, on the islands, and a heavily military presence is noticeable. There are some restricted areas where photography is not permitted and some areas of the islands are completely off-limits. Have no fear, though, security is assured, and terrorist groups such as the savage “Multinesian Human Rights Council” and “Indigenous People’s Clean Water Defence Fund” are being firmly policed to prevent any rogue action such as passing on documentation of the pollution of their tribal homelands.

Note: this should also obviate any concerns about recent developments as the games will not be being played in Græntfjall proper.

We have a wiki page where I am slowly migrating information about the team. (Subpage with player details, subpage with history which should actually exist, if incomplete, in the near future!)

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

Turori National Team

Head Coach: Tarek Edgeli
After spending 3 seasons being trained in Crosaibi at Marine Coast United, Edgeli made the switch down the coast to the Lonngeylin Coliseum for Season 43. While Strike were unable to win any silverware, Edgeli fit straight into the squad as one of the top performing defenders in the entire league earning instant plaudits and recognition back in Turori. Edgeli would be an ever-present in the Turorian squad earning the role of captain as the team advanced to the World Cup Semi Finals for the first time in the nations history at World Cup 81 in the Free Republics and Banija. After a long absence from regional competition, Edgeli, retired from the Turori National Team, would captain the Vilita and Turori National Team during the 60th AOCAF Competition.

After working with the Vilita & Turori National Team for two campaigns including the Olympic Games, Edgeli took on the role of head coach for the Turori National Team during the Eagle’s Cup XIX Competition and after leading the team to a Bronze Medal in the first attempt, returned to coach the team again during Eagle's Cup X. While Edgeli's Eel's came up just short again, earning their second consecutive Bronze Medal, the performance was enough to convince the Football Association of Turori that Edgeli was their coach of the future; relieving long time coach Klailall Tuirma of the Head Coaching duties by promoting Tuirma to the role as Competition Director of the Football Association of Turori while assigning Edgeli to the role of Turori National Team Manager for the World Cup 88 Cycle. In their first cycle as Head Coach of the Turori National Team, Tarek Edgeli led the Eels to their first World Cup Title.

Nickname: The Eels

Style: -1.23

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Note 'Caps" are shown are currently on record for Turorian Players on from the start of World Cup 80 due to federation budget re-allocations during this time period to the Cocoabo Enrichment & Enhancement Project (CEEP)

Overview

The Pemecutan national football team (Pemecutan Malay: Tim Nasional Sepakbola Pemecutan) represents Pemecutan in international football competition. From its establishment the team is always comprises of all men players. It is governed by Pemecutan Football Association, the governing body of football in Pemecutan. It has never win any major international competition.

The team compete for the first time internationally at 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup which was held in Eraman. They ended up finished 4th, defeated by Ziwana in third place final. Their participation in World Cup Cycle started at Baptism of Fire 76 where they ended in the Group Stage. In the 89th World Cup, the team manage to qualified for the first time where they were ended in Round of 16 after being defeated by Squidroidia. Their best performance was during WC 90th where they reached final for the first time in the teams history. They were defeated by The Holy Empire in the final.

In regional level, the team have manage to reached Semifinal in 9 concecutive Mandalanusan Cup (formerly Melayu Archipelago Cup). From that, their best performance was during the 6th, 7th and the latest 11th edition where they manage to finished as runner-up, defeated by Sharktail, Southern Palm Islands and Tecoia respectively. Their often surprised defeats from lower ranked or newcomer nations in the region makes them dubbed with Pemecutan Cursed. The latest defeat against Tecoia was so upsetting that the supporters rioting in the host's stadium. This incident makes Pemecutanian supporters are banned from CMFA sanctioned events.

Kits

In their first international appearance, the team using black as the kit based color. This jersey was made by a local apparel company, Gringsing. The color use for the kit is inspired by Tridatu color, which is the national color of Pemecutan. It is believe that the color can give luck and protection for the user. After being stuck as semifinalist in regional competition, they decided to change the kit as a refreshment.

Agung&Arya Fashion was contacted by PFA officials to design the new kit for the national team. It is a huge challenge for the fashion house as they are never involve in sportswear before. The design they come up with is a simple black-white vertical stripes with white as the background color. They are also introducing the second jersey which use red as the basic color in also another stripes design. The third design that they made are for the goalkeeper. This time they use the combination of red and black.

In 1783 Pawukon, the team decides to refresh their jersey. UD. Sidartha is the one who design their new kits. The inspiration is the batik pattern of Pemecutanian local fabrics. Although the pattern use is not a literal pattern but have been change and modernized. The color choice is still the same, their national Tridatu colors. The home jersey use a white based color. The away jersey use a red based color. While the goalkeeper use a combination of black and red

Home Stadium

From its first international appearance, Pemecutan always use Tegeh Kori National Stadium as the main stadium for the football team. Additional stadiums were also use especially in World Cup qualifying round. But the stadium that is the main venue of Tegeh Kori Sports Complex, has always become the main stadium. The stadium at first was use by 2 football clubs, Pesepur Pemecutan Puri and PSTK Tegeh Kori. PSTK Tegeh Kori then use Alang Tegeh Arena as their stadium. While starting 1784-1785 Kasa League season, Pesepur Pemecutan Puri will use their newly renovated stadium, Lanang Pemecutan Stadium. These facts makes Tegeh Kori National Stadium will solely be use by the national football team.

Kit

Image

Home-Away-Third

Flavovespia keep the same kits from the last Eagle's Cup, now recognised for the success at CAFA Cup 5. The yellow home shirt features a stylised "double V", with customary black shorts and socks. The away kit is a palette reversal, and the third kit features Anaia purple, and gold, as a tribute to the CAFA Cup 4, and now CAFA Cup 5 victory.

Squad

Manager

Manager – Augusto Rinaldi Age: 60 [SVG]

With a second CAFA Cup victory under his belt, he's more than answered his critics after 3 losses at World Cup 92. He's written himself into the history books of Flavovespian football, and then some. A manager with a direct style of play, but a great sense of man management, he's built a Flavovespian side who've often got the confidence now to go all the way, and can deliver.

7 Kieron Player Age: 29 Position: CDM Club: Coret Hawks [NPH] Caps: 154 Goals: 7
8 Robert Totten Age: 33 Position: CAM Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 125 Goals: 23
11 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 23 Position: RAM Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 90 Goals: 42
17 David Clark Age: 34 Position: CDM Club: WSR AFC [KOR] Caps: 173 Goals: 17
18 David Wassell Age: 27 Position: CDM Club: Yerushalayim [ADB] Caps: 66 Goals: 0
19 Amrik Singh Age: 24 Position: RAM Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 9 Goals: 1
20 Andrew Thomas Age: 30 Position: LM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 14 Goals: 2
22 Robert Cooper Age: 31 Position: RAM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 12 Goals: 2

Forwards

9 Michael Cole Age: 29 Position: CF Club: North Hall [BRE] Caps: 136 Goals: 66
10 Adrian Jones Age: 30 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 67 Goals: 34
21 Richard Birmingham Age: 21 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 2 Goals: 0

The squad remains unchanged from the CAFA Cup 5 winning squad. Augusto Rinaldi seems keen to continue the momentum from that tournament, and treat the Eagle's Cup as something of address rehearsal for the World Cup Qualifiers. Aarif Muhammad had a good, if not spectacular tournament, so he'll remain the number 1 goalkeeper for Flavovespia. In defence, David Lyons showed his worth as a full back and a captain. The centre back pairing of Stuart Cookson and emerging talent Paul Taylor looks the likely pair, and the experience of David Blythe is slightly favoured to Andrew Dance for now. The midfield trio saw a fair few iterations, but after some superb substitute performances, David Clark returns to start, alongside Kieron Player and Robert Totten. Jonathan Goldstone and David Wassell meanwhile are very capable substitute options. Robert Cooper proved to be worth the call up in his national team return, and whilst he may not be an out and out starter, his utility is very valued. The classic trio of Michael Cole, Adrian Jones and arguably one of the greatest Flavovespian footballers for decades, Jonathan Bagshaw, make up the attacking trio.

Tactics

Flavovespia play in a direct 4-4-3. The back four tend to sit back, trying to quickly move the ball forward if there's a turnover of possession. The midfield trio split into a primary ball winning player, a playmaker, and a roaming midfielder with a more attacking focus. Nevertheless all 3 need the ability to press and play a quick pass if need be. In attack, the centre forward sits more as a false nine, able to go for goal themseles, but opening up space for either of the wide forwards to cut inside.

Schedule:
MD1 Valanora (A) 2-2
MD2 Trolleborg (H) Hornet's Nest, Waldster 1-0

The Arlington Moon-Tribune

Congratulations to Lothas Ludwig of Valanora for winning the World Cup 92 Silicon Boot! As always, the Silicon Boot is an unofficial award given to the player believed to have scored the most goals in the World Cup proper; our statisticians credit Ludwig with seven goals as he led the Marauaders to third place.

A new World Cup cycle, as always, brings continuity and turnover to the national team roster. This time around, it was mostly the midfielders and lead striker Quincy Dulk-Fough who went out on top after the World Cup 92 triumph. The university all-star team that contested the Brevity Challenge Cup and Mihaly Invitational provides one source of new talent, with midfielders Julia MacEacharna, Saroj Kinnar, and Jude McWaler moving to the full team; 1./ stalwarts Sofya Turmal-Hence, Chester Hildegard, and Stephen Marcus have been called up as well.

As an unexpected fluke--the outgrowth of cultural tendencies that have served as generalizations over the years, but rarely go to this extreme--the nominal starting eleven now consists of five women at the back and six men up front. "It do be like that sometimes," said Jordan McKinney, after we interrupted his game of keepy-uppy. It helps that an ascendant Eintracht Trink side have given Ryota Imamura the nod at starting striker, which will hopefully shut up his grumblings about having to wear #26 last time; Valerie Waugh, as usual, has taken it in stride.

While Kirsten Jackson's penchant for impressive throw-ins may have been surpassed by Meredith Ryland (in what is totally character development and not at all getting them mixed up last cycle), Jackson has come into her own as the new captain. "Do I have big cleats to fill--sure, we all do," she grins. "Hopefully our own. I don't feel any more pressure than usual--will our opponents raise their game to take on the defending champions? I mean, sure, we can only hope so, that's for you guys to analyze afterwards. We're going to be pretty busy on the pitch."

The World Cup title means Zwangzug will be on the "Cup of Champions" half of the bracket, facing Saint Eleanor, Loyo, and Tumbra in the group stage, rather than the familiar fixtures against other Eagles' Club members. (Some of my cynical colleagues have claimed this is the only reason we bothered to show up yet again instead of sending Ragnailt's all-stars or blowing it off altogether.) "I'm looking forward to taking on Loyo," says Hildegard. "The baseball gods are very important, and even if they might not affect the football world as much, it's nice to see a country that takes such things seriously."

Cixin Nguyen, for his part, can look forward to meeting clubmates Stephen Kerr and Trudy Harrison, who play for Tumbra. "They've been around for a long time, they know the drill," he says. "If DiMarini and Scott could put aside their friendship and focus on the game, I'm sure we can too."

All time match record—522 wins, 284 losses, 158 draws (964 matches)
(current through AOCAF 68)
NS Record—343 wins, 122 losses, 89 draws (554 matches)

style--+2.55
Formation--3-4-1-2
In the “BP System” or the “BP Way” (neither of those should be considered as something used officially or unofficially—if you wanted to term it as such as something of your own IC creation, go for it) the 3-4-1-2 is more literal than the manner in which it's used RL.
A discussion I had with another user made me contemplate providing a bit more concrete info on just who plays where when you see my lineups/bench for individual matches.
Defense: the three backs play tight to one another when the ball is in the middle or defensive thirds—they should really be termed LCB/CCB/RCB. The outside pair will never be wider than diameter of the center circle. They both man-mark (unless there is an IC tactical reason they don't) and the centerback zonal marks (usually helping one of the other two). The CB is technically a fullback as they have more freedom to move forward with the ball at feet. In a pinch, an emergency situation as a sub, they could all play any of the three positions.
Midfield: there is a good deal of set responsibility among the four across midfield, but the one thing that is always a constant is the wings are the workhorses, they cover more distance than the other players. I've hinted at or flat out said in match reports in the past that left wing (and they are 99.9% of time always left footed) is THE talismanic position in The System, as right fullback is considered (in BP) as usually the weakest position in a flat back four.
The two central midfielders usually have a specific role, one as the playmaker, the distributor and the other as the defensive, hard tackler, disruptor, ball winner.
The preferred position is listed first, but the ones that follow show how versatile that player is. For CM's the left/right designation is the stronger side for that player, but in theory almost anyone in midfield can play in the center of midfield.
Forward: Ah yes, the wild card element. In this case, the differentiation should be looked at from the perspective of another sport—basketball.
The three positions are almost adapted from the indoor game: the center forward, the target man, the number 9—the one who plays up front but facing away from the goal. Mostly it's men who hold down this role in the NT, although not always.
The striker—they want to be played into an area by a pass, or want room to get a touch before shooting. They face goal, but usually in or very close to the box.
The 'slot'--what a lot of people call the attacking midfielder or the CAM. This is a player that can dribble and create their own shot, or draw defenders and find others. There's a reason why this position can be played by a midfielder or a forward and the rationale usually depends on a chemistry between a pair or trio. West, Craig & Pryor will go down in history as the most prolific combo because the man developed a good rapport with the women who were club teammates.
In conclusion—BP should always be RP'd (of course at your discretion, and I will always adapt to anyone who RP's first if something that's not necessarily canon is mentioned) as--

*fast, short passing
*high lines & pressing
*offside trap
*technically sound
*not easily intimidated
*willing to play anyone, anywhere

KPB Ranking--27.56 (25th)

National Anthem--"Hear Our Voices Commonwealth"

Nickname--since the end of the 1960's the National Team has been known as "The Bees", a period when the team's uniforms consisted of alternating black and gold hoops.
Previous to that time and subsequently through periods in the 1980's and 90's, the team was usually referred to by the county's national animal, the Elks; the women's National Team were always 'Lady Elks' until the advent of mixed gender play, which was revived during the Jenna Raven Cup and there are still numerous mentions of Elks in the supporters song “We are the Gold & Black”, which currently has close to 175 stanzas.

Colors--Black & Gold (while they are just 2 of the 5 main colors on the flag of Baker Park--Blue, Red and White are the others--black & gold have been closely associated in the nation's consciousness as representative of the country since its founding.)

The Commonwealth of Baker Park National Team return with their fourth consecutive invitation to the Eagles Cup (and fifth in the last six editions) as the defending bronze medalists from EC XIV with a squad of rising stars, stars coming into their prime, and veteran leadership that present the cross section of talent available to a NT pool in transition ahead of World Cup 93.

First Team Coach Hailey Reinhart-Zavaros will take charge, assisted by Senior First Team Coach Tony Weiss; Reinhart-Zavaros was on her first youth team assignment as an assistant for Weiss (and current NT Manager Jen Prescott) during the Sporting World Cup 5 Championship run, which brings the pairing full circle. Reinhart-Zavaros has led the Women's Olympic Team in Banija and guided a BP side to a Bronze Medal finish at Wonder Cup 4; she is married to Director of Coaching Development Chris Zavaros and has been one of Prescott's top deputies in running the Technical Development Department over many years.

Prescott has overseen a top to bottom overhaul of "The System" since World Cup 92; the Tea Cup and the most recent AOCAF Cup tournament saw stretches of uneven results, but little deviation or panic inside the NT setup. There's a quiet understanding that the basic tactical philosophy will retain most of the 'theoretical' elements, but the practical application based upon the newest wave of talent coming through will be more fluid; the specific inclusion of 3 players on the roster are said to be related to a planned experimental lineup and match gameplan.

The late shift to a group featuring Turori, Nephara and Banija in the battle for the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy is not expected to play a factor in the planning for the competition.

Welcome to the Commonwealth of Baker Park for the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy portion of the 15th Eagles Cup competition.

Endborough is the Commonwealth's Second City, located in the northeastern part of the country. It is the state capital of Endover and the home of the nation's top institution of higher education, the University of Endover.

The three home fixtures that the BPNT will play will take place at Rogers Stadium, with a capacity of 46,750. Located west of the central downtown area known as Endborough City near the confluence of the White River and the Belle Haven River's upper branch, the stadium is one of the oldest sports venues in the nation. It has undergone two major expansions that doubled the original seating layout to accommodate the addition of the Pro Football Division's Endborough Eagles and Endborough City Rugby Football Club as co-tenants with the Endborough Gold Sox baseball club. Access is available through the city's public transport system RETA (Regional Transit Agency), via bus or subway.

Places of interest in the city include the House of Representatives Building; Old City Hall; the Schroeder Collection of Wildlife Art at the State Museum, and ferry rides along the White & Belle Haven Rivers; a visit to the Commonwealth Military Academy, training young men and women to be officers in the Army, Air Force and the National Guard is another option. The University of Endover in North Park has one of the finest collections of Neo-Gothic architecture in the nation.
On match day, McKenna Street in the City is the main entertainment district and a good option if you don't have a stadium ticket; Parkers generally are welcoming and respectful to out of town supporters and the Endborough City Constabulary are tolerant up to a point that no one is in danger to themselves or others.

Day trips outside of the city to the Lake District, High Country, and the Upriver areas of Endover will bring you to natural beauty that is kept pristine for the enjoyment of the population.

Endborough International Airport is is easy to get to & from, capable of handling the largest passenger & cargo jets and high volume air traffic. On your arrival from points within and without the Commonwealth you'll be directed clearly and quickly to the customs & immigration, baggage handling and transportation arrangement areas.

General info:
Baker Park prides itself on the equality of citizens and the respect for the rule of law; we have an array of civil liberties that are important as the foundation of our society. Cannabis is legal for use and purchase although importation is prohibited; prostitution is not illegal, but not technically legal either. By law, prostitution arrests can be charged as no more than a minor misdemeanor.
Most bars and pubs have closing time at 3am, and only such establishments that serve food can legally open prior to 11:15 am to serve alcohol. The legal age for purchase and consumption is 18.

Baker Park's currency is the CBP dollar; generally $1 NS is equivalent to about CBP$ 1.45. The monetary system is decimalized and denominations are 2, 5, 10 and 50 cent coins, 1 and 2 dollar coins, and 5, 10, 25, 100 and 500 dollar notes.
As a result of the 1998 elimination of the 1 cent coin, the general practice throughout the county is to round up or down any prices that would result in purchases or change returned ending in 1 or 3 cents; for example, a merchant may keep the extra 1 cent if your change due is 3.31, or may return 2.54 if the amount due is 2.53 (merchants and vendors have through the years generally adapted pricing so this is a rare occurrence).

Baker Park has a national Goods & Services Tax (GST) on a wide array of products and services; it is a tiered structure based upon the retail cost, meaning you will pay a lower tax on cheaper items, and a higher tax on those that are more expensive. Visitors can apply for a refund of the Federal government share of GST (generally about 75% of the collected tax) by filling out a form with proof of purchase via sales receipts; ask at customs upon your departure for Form 85. In some cases, GST is incorporated into the price; for example an item that has a retail price of $1.80 is probably GST inclusive ($1.75 with a .05 tax) so this would not be refundable.

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information

In a reunion tour of the ages, the Electrumite Football Team has been reunited for a one-time comeback, touring the multiverse once more for their first, elusive trophy. Yes, this football team is well known for being one of the few teams to have never won a World Cup, with their closest attempt coming in World Cup 78 where the Electrumites avoided not losing against Eura. At the conclusion of World Cup 92, the Computator had finally declared that it had finally collected enough information on 'solving' football and left the country, but not before passing down this knowledge to Electrumites. It was then decided that the Electrumite football team possessed too powerful of a weapon, one that would render the whole sporting pursuit pointless. Anyways, brain dampeners have been temporarily applied to the Electrumite team so that they are unable to access this knowledge while playing their matches.

Statistical Information

Best World Cup record: Champion (WC78)
Worst World Cup record: Censored
WCC match record: Unknowable

Coaching Staff
Manager: Tyler Fernando
Assistant Manager: Jemima Bryant
Development Manage: Risa Shigaraki

Tyler Fernando, sentient creature with noted footballing skills, has returned to manage the Electrumite team after a year-long bender. Fernando has finally made the team's unique biological composition work with an appearance at World Cup 89 Finals. And another appearance at the World Cup 92 Finals which was totally deserved by merit. He is known for being in the World Cup Failing Team of '78, piloting the team with his superb captaincy. He is also known for dismissing that large stone in the shape of an egg which appeared for Electrum in one cycle.

Roster
Starting XI
#1 Ralph Mills - 29 - GK
A studious goalkeeper, Mills graduated top of his economics class and is well versed in game theory, in particular simultaneous games related to the taking of penalties. His crib notes are dozens of pages long with various analyses of opposing penalty-takers depending on any situation that may arise. Sometimes these notes may fly in the wind.

#4 Elenora Sapper - 25 - DF
The youngest member of the starting XI, Sapper is QUICK with unrivalled stamina running across the pitch. She likes to provoke and get in her opponent's faces and toes the line with the referees.

#5 Bayden Forest - 30 - DF
A tall, bulky player who is described as a cross between a tree and a brick wall, with his intelligence between those two objects. Nice guy though.

#15 Marcus Renshaw - 29 - FW
Renshaw only communicates using emojis in group conversations and it's really starting to bug us. Also he has eczema.

#9 Sentient Energy Ball (Seb) - ?? - FW
Seb will be wearing a fabric spherical 'jacket' which conveniently looks like a normal football at certain angles. This is a strange attempt to get the opposition off for kicking a player deliberately for a red card. Let's see if it works after this strategy has been used for two cycles. When short tempered, easily short circuited.

#12 William Stewart - 27 - DF
There is absolutely nothing interesting about William Stewart except for the fact that his name is comprised of two first names.

#13 Julius van Buren - 32 - MF
van Buren, as his name suggests, is very flashy. Likes to run circles around his opponents and great at manipulating the ball and getting past opponents. Getting a little bit old but his spot on the team is justified with his flashes of brilliance.

#27 Crystal Le - 32 - DF
A long time second string player, Le finds herself with a golden opportunity after Alan Moore's retirement. Le is adept with the ball but sometimes plays too selflessly to her detriment.

#20 Nindethana Nindethana (c) - 31 - MF
Nicknamed Nindethana squared, her favourite board game is Maxopoly and she is one of the few Kale Islanders on the team. She possesses mystical powers to open portals between two locations at short distance but refuses to use those advantages in a football match. Honourable.

#22 Einarsson, King of the Armoured Bears - ?? - MF
An old friend of The Computator's, Einarsson has played in the Electrumite team as a favour to our nation's leader. To him, ten years of Earth time is equivalent to six months of bear time, so really this is kind of a short vacation rather than a long-term thing.

#24 Android X4-TU in the shape of a flightless bird - ?? - MF
The talons of Android X4-TU (upgraded from version X3-TU) are known to puncture balls, so opponents are often very keen to get the ball away from it. Often matches are delayed to replace the ball.

Substitutes
#11 David Patterson - 26 - FW
#14 Deborah Garcia - 24 - MF
#16 Alex Xiao - 27 - FW
#19 Pete Westtcott - 29 - MF
#21 Christine Bayer - 25 - DF
#26 Cindy Torvald - 25 - MF
#28 Ian Kravitz - 28 - DF
#30 Peyton Nix - 30 - GK
#32 Sarah Archer - 28 - GK

Stadium Information

Centralis - Olympic Stadium (capacity: 100,000) - RL equivalent: MCG
Olympic Stadium is where history is made. Centralis is a cosmopolitan and multicultural city and is centrally located in Electrum -- being the gateway of the entire country, with its world renowned international airport and hub of Air Terranea. The stadium is the birthplace of Electrum sport and has been the site of many great moments in Olympic history. Little alleys and suburbs surround the broad tree-lined avenues of Centralis, with little neighbourhoods of people from every background imaginable. If your nation has expats in Electrum, they are likely to be found near each other. Centralis' Olympic Stadium hosts all home matches for the Electrum team.

Prescott - Northcote Oval (capacity: 70,000) - RL equivalent: Kardinia Park Stadium
Northcote Oval also has a hallowed history where dreams are made - though usually in the winter. Prescottians are known more for their social partying and drinking. Prescott is situated to the immediate west of Electrum and is fairly cool, given its high altitude (it is in fact Electrum's highest city by elevation). This makes playing football uniquely challenging as players navigate the lowered level of oxygen. Temperatures at this time of year are near freezing point. Prescott is also close to some ski towns and some vineyards near Electrum's Great Lake. Northcote Oval was upgraded a few years ago, as it was the host of many Winter Olympics and the most recent Summer Olympics.

NEPHARA
World Ranking:
11th, ish
Preferred Formation: 4-2-3-1
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: -1
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

A distinctly indifferent World Cup starting with a concerning qualifying and ending on back-to-back defeats was not even remotely what the fans wanted to see. But Igrene Cantor is a born winner, and her ego will not allow her to be wrong.

The Cormorants did well for themselves, achieving a semifinal finish in the Copa Rushmori. But they're in need of a way to distance themselves from the 'Vetiver + 10' brand of football, and this might just be the way. Maybe. The shadow of 'Vivi' will loom large, but Cantor knows the framework exists to bring the best out of them all. She only has to find it.

Overall Record
662 wins - 131 draws - 155 losses
2212 scored - 1122 conceded

Trophies
Baptism of Fire 51
Cup of Harmony 61
World Cups 74 and 87
Eagle's Cup 5
4 Cope Rushmori - 30, 35, 36, 37
5 Campionati Esportiva - 6, 8, 10, 15 and 18
Only the second nation in history to achieve the 'Triple Crown' of WCC titles - represented by three stars on the crest.
The most major silverware of any nation in history.
Second in footballing ability only to 6PupperFunnerRunnies.

Tactics
Image
Nepharan football is based around playing hard, pressing aggressively, playing for keeps. Occasionally this leaves gaps behind the high defensive line, though most Nepharan goalkeepers are in the sweeping mould these days to compensate. Marchers are, by and large, a physically imposing folk, and eager to throw their size around. The footballing culture is intensely competitive, and those that survive to make their way to the top are hellbent on winning at any cost. Elbows to the face. Subtle digs in the ribs. Diving is dishonest when opponents do it but streetwise when Nepharim do it. In short, Nephara are the bully from two years above who picked you, specifically, out as a natural target.

That is often the foreign perspective, but it overlooks a key fact; Nepharan football can honestly be beautiful to watch. Generations of players brought up on dry plains or asphalt play the ball quickly and fearlessly along the ground, never sideways when there's a forward option open, always looking to stretch and probe and stay one really good pass away from a goal. Nepharim are undoubtedly physical, even cynical, but their success has been built off the backs of ruthless, fast-paced passing football.

Cantor is still in the process of trying to make 4-4-2 work. She's sure it's the best way to bring out the best of the Cormorants. Rotation is going to be extensive; she wants to see how a lot of these parts fit together.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharan ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Igrene Cantor - Age 52
Assistant Manager - Valery Cain - Age 56
One of the few people to have won the World Cup as both a player and a manager, Igrene Cantor excels at building chemistry and a true, tight-knit unit, squeezing the absolute most out of the parts available to her. An absolute dream to a Nephara side that can often be less than the sum of its parts. Cantor thinks of each player in terms of what they bring to the complete picture, not just as a rating out of a hundred; she won't just pick the best eleven players, but a coherent, fully functioning squad that would die for each other on the pitch. Cain is an odd choice of assistant manager, a journeyman manager across Nephara's pyramid, yet somehow Cantor clearly sees a kindred spirit.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls

Team usually playing in green, sometimes in red, but white and blue versions are used last time many years ago.

NATIONAL TEAM

Team enters now its tenth year in the international football. While first ten years is can be accessed as rather good, it was not clear, how next decade will looked like.

COACH

61-years old Morten Troghil is a manager of the team since its creation. He made himself name in the local league, was voted by the people of Trolleborg to lead national team, and coached it ever since, having three international titles to his name, four times played in the finals of major international tournaments and succeed to bring our team at the World Cup thrice.

PLAYERS

Probably smarting from the unsuccessful campaign of WCQ-92, Morten Troghil introduce some players to the international football at the recent IAC, and some of the new faces retained at the lineup as team headed to the Eagle Cup.

GOALKEEPERS

Morten Kerr (28). Younger brother of now retired from international football iconic forward Stuart Kerr, he played as number one in the first ever international tournaments in the Trolleborg history, U18 Cup in S&T, known as very skilful and intelligent player, and make some very spectacular performances in the last WCQ. He confidently moved into the place between post in the national team, by virtue of his reflexes and braveness he have a recognition from the fans, but his performance is not completely in line with tasks. Altought some not-too-spectacular performances in the WC-92 move him back on the bench, he regain post number one at the IAC. Team lost only one time and concede only two goals at the whole tournament.
Jesper Krogh (28 years). Very fast player who already prove himself on both league and international level, who prove himself good at the second floor, without losing something in his first floor game skills. But he did’t succeed in filling shoes of great Kot Kotsson and right now relegated to the second goalkeeper spot.
Torben Fingall (24). Prove himself efficient and reliable, he has a great talant of well-positioning himself, and extremely fast in addition. But right now he is understudy for both other goalkeepers. Due to the Eagle Cup being high-voltage tournament, Morten Troghil probably not give him chance to play.

DEFENDERS

Kasper Wolters (33). He is very strong, and relatively fast for his already advanced age. In the past he substituted right midfielders and use his crossing skill to add something to the attacking might of the team, but right now prefer to concentrate on the defensive duties.
Loderick Fingall (28). Recent addition to the team, this right back\right winger\right midfielder cover a lot of ground in his area of responsibility, move swift and decisively, and his ball-winning talents are remarkable. But right now he played only third fiddle to the experienced Wolters and Loonstrup.
William Schendel (28). Versatile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, highly effective in breaking opposition attacks, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate.
Miran Fizer (30). He has a nickname “Greaven”, meaning in Trollish language a very strong sort of mountain stone. Morten Troghil made a very controversial move when added him. Miran have a great positioning skills, he fight for every ball, dominant in the aerial game and very tight marker, but he looked like person totally devoid of any constructive capacity. He capable only of limited passing and never goes far forward. His mode of work usually limited to disrupting any activity by the opposing team in his area of responsibility, and once in possession of the ball, he usually sends it wherever direction he face. He don’t be much of help in the games of recent WCQ, but fully succeed in his duties of disrupting and disposessing in IAC.
Aien Troger (34). This strongly build defender have a lot of experience and extremely good in tackling, it’s very challenging to move into the box past him and he made life extremely difficult for the many famed forwards on the international scene. Apart from Wolters he is only defender who goes all the way from the first games of the national team. But right now he will probably sit on the bench, bar any catastrophe.
Joran Du Riis (32). Cold-blooded fighter prove that he more than capable holding his own at the highest level. Agile and fast-moving, but solidly builded and used this for his advantage, he play with composure and responsibility, so his place in the lineup is assured.
Joos Haankrands (27). Left defender, agile and fast, he has many things to be the first-rate star on his position in the years to come. He try his best, but with rather mediocre results.
Joran Rijsager (28). Left defender or central defender as coach see fit, he concedes nothing to rivals and rarely makes a mistakes. His performance in WCQ is very far from spectacular, but he prove himself safe bet at the IAC. So, despite many voices heard against his presense in the team lineup, coach give him another chance

MIDFIELDERS

Anselm Kollimor (27). Attack-minded right-side midfielder. His runs into the box of rival teams is always dangerous. But he will have a tough fight for the spot at the team lineup, since he has to fight for a spot with Jesper Gronholm.
Jesper Gronholm (29). Recent addition to the team, but already have a spot at the lineup, he was comfortable down the right flank as either defender or midfielder in the local football, but play as winger at the national team. He was willingly join any move forward, where he pass ball quickly and thoughtfully, and sometimes shot at goal with a very decent results.
Soren Wittingem (28). Strong player who can run incessantly whole 90 minutes, distributes ball well due to his great passing ability and perfect knowledge of game, and also shows considerable tenacity and real class at his duties as defensive midfielder, as it was extremely difficult to go past him. But right now he don’t make to the height of work recently retired Hendrick Groningen.
Torben Scantorp (26). Another addition to the team, this defensive midfielder ball-winning talents are remarkable. He has a talent of reading game (and some also joking, that also reading thoughts), and is untiring worker, capable to bring ball forward fast and precise. Usually Trolleborg team don’t used defensive midfielders, and almost never two at once, so many call Morten Troghil decision to have two DM’s at the squad strange, but situation at the Eagle Cup is different from usual, so, probably, he will have a time on the field.
Brutil Skrta (27). Very complete player, who posessed ability, stamina, flair, technique and resoluteness in just perfect mix. Shows tremendous accuracy when passing, fine distant shooting skills, he moved very fast and prove his talents brilliantly in the last few tournaments.
Kenneth Pathmoor (29). This central midfielder can cover a lot of space in the middle of the field and with his pace, agility and an eye for goal he willingly can find net himself or conjure goal opportunity for his forwards.
Morten Troll (34). Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player with great repertoire of tricks. He was justifiable praised as one of the main creators of the all Trolleborg football successes.
Brutil Hoog (28). Used on the club levels as either attacking midfielder or central one, this hardworking teamplayer moved very fast and turns well, he passed ball very accurately, but his shots on goal is not very precise – which is a big disadvantage for a Trolleborg player on such a position. Albeit many pundits say a words against his candidature, head coach nevertheless take him due to his brilliant performances in the international club team tournaments.
Kasper Windass (28). Broad and strong left midfielder, he looked a little bit sluggish when moving without ball, but everything changes when he have it. Then he moved extremely fast, sweeping away everything in its path due to his mighty build and usually ended move with a clever pass.
Karsten Gould (28). This versatile midfielder can play as a left midfielder or forward if needed. But his passing much better than shooting skills, so he prefer not to make long shots, instead move into the box very fast and try to make dangerous continuations. He prove himself well in the international club tournaments last season and his chances for a place in the lineup improved as a result.

FORWARDS

Torben Kranforde (27). Very fast forward, who have special ability to surprise rival defenders. He also posessed a great skill of positioning himself very well, and regularly sent many defenders and goalkeepers into despair with his precise and deadly shots from both feet. He prove himself prolific scorer at all recent tournaments team taking part of, altought he was not good in adapt himself to the circumstances of games against experienced opponents, so Morten Troghil possibly give him a place on the bench for games of Eagle Cup.
Kroonquist, Morten (28). Another addition to the team squad, this fast forward known for intensity of his game, and he is capable to maintain workrate in all 90 minutes. With enviable quickeness he moved very fast, turns very well, constantly pressurized rival defenders, with or without balls, and always trying winning back posession. He prove himself as a prolific goal scorer in recent tournament, but there was a doutbs, if he is up to the height that our team needed to won right now.
Gerard Reuzer (27). This tall and sturdy forward being called up to the national team first time, and many look at him with hope. With addition to the good dribbling skills he controls ball well and can shot from either feet or holding ball up until his teammated arrived. He also can contribute to the team efforts by his good headers. But up to date he don’t prove himself well against high-level opposition, so most probably his time on the field will be limited at the Eagle Cup.

TEAM TACTICS AND GAME STYLE

With Morten Troghil at the helm team always practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace, with a varied passing and good teamwork. Usually played 4-4-2 with defenders pressed forward and flank midfielders join attacks whatever possible, or 3-5-2 with a midfielders move back and forth as things dictated. Integral and inalienable part of the team’s game will be mighty pressing, applied whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

National psyche tell players to put everything even if odds are heavily against, so almost every match in the league played with high determination, and national team shirt oblige one who wore it for even more efforts – altought it was visible, that players often compeletely lose breath when unexpected setbacks occur. And this is precisely what happened in the WCQ-92.

Unsportsmanlike behavior is highly discouraged even if in the interests of the cause, and national team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. It is expected that players who have a choice to fall and appeal for penalty and try to continue game choce latter without a doubts. But players are not easily bullied, though, and more than able to stand up for themselves both as individuals and as a team, and have a strong inclination to go tit-for-tat in case of excessive brutality on the opponent’s part.

Style –5.

No, there was no confusion, team played attacking football on the field, while having negative style modifier for a scorinating purposes.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but I reserve right to estimate injury severeness.
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes only for a last ditch fouls or two yellows, any other variants must be discussed with me.
Godmod other events: No, but if you have something interesting in mind, let me know and we try to find a middle ground.

MEDIA

Trolleborg TV intends to do its best to provide everyone with a 3D broadcasting of every game, altought you must understood limitations of technology, which was used for less than ten years and already prove himself very unreliably. AI, which was in charge of such a things was not at all perfect. Although successfully coped with the transcription of games with space creatures, monsters and knights at the last IAC, at the some time he have problems with color shades, uniforms, hair and body color of the players, visualization of stadiums and so on. Probably this problems are irremovable and integral part of this technology. Also some countries forbid imagining their players in either 3D or usual 2D TV due to the religious, political and other considerations of the utmost importance, and we respect their sensitivities if only they are expressed obviously.

Selection of articles from Græntfjaller news media.

Players play down ‘historic’ nature of Eagl’e’s’ Cup squad

Græntfjall’s first national team to feature two players of Muslim descent will break new ground for a country still wrestling with questions of religious pluralism, but the history making moment was far from the thoughts of stand-in Johanna Álvgeirsdóttir at a press conference before the opening game of the 16th Eagl’e’s’ Cup. At the National High Performance Sports Center in Græntfjaller Multinesia, the Snow Wolves will take on Pemecutan, and Álvgeirsdóttir said the team’s focus was “100% on our opponents, not on any outside issues” in her only nod to the press coverage that has ensued since both Hanif Anwarsson el-Said and Ayaan Kabirsson Haque were named to the projected starting XI. “You have the number 5 and 6 in the world, former World Cup finalists against former World Cup winners, two ‘class of 73’ sides continuing a rivalry begun at the Baptism of Fire – that’s plenty to be excited about!” said Álvgeirsdóttir, the former national team captain who has been recalled to lead the Snow Wolves while Sara Kristoffersdóttir and other senior players, including CR starters Mikkel Rúnarsson and Alyssia Noahsdóttir, are rested for the tournament ahead of another busy year of World Cup matches.

Anwarsson (who plays as Hanif Anwar in Mytanija’s Top League) has represented the senior team on a number of occasions but this marks a senior debut for Kabirsson (who plays as Ayaan Kabir in Xanneria) and the first time any Græntfjaller national football team has fielded two Muslims. Anwarsson himself played down the significance of the moment anyway, pointing out that neither are particularly religiously observant and saying that while he was “proud to show that possibilities are open to everyone” he wanted the focus on his performance, not his heritage. A diverse squad also features Under-20 star Hermione Báisdóttir Xiǎo, of Asian Archipelagic descent; Itzchitl Svennsson, who is half-Verdean; Kamdyr fullback Harmony Serpentmane, who will contest for the right back spot with Kabirsson; and mixed race regular starter Vanessa Marvinsdóttir, who scored Græntfjall’s only goal in their last competitive game, the Copa Rushmori final against Tikariot in Mytanija. Græntfjall’s group also features World Cup 78 champions Electrum and a reunion with the Grim Reapers of Quebec. “This tournament has become one of the favorite competitions in the Græntfjaller footballing calendar,” says Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir, one of the few regular starters playing in the tournament after being named Player of the Tournament in Mytanija, who disputed criticism of the squad as ‘second string’. “We’re looking forward to it, and I think this is a very strong team we’re bringing here. It’s the missing piece of silverware in our collection, so there’s no doubt we’re here to compete at a very ‘first string’ level!”

Michaelsdóttir’s inequality agenda scores with voters, receives mixed score card from economists

A crusader for deregulation in her first term as Prime Minister when in coalition with the Liberal-Conservative Alliance, Kaija Michaelsdóttir took on the unions, reformed the bloated civil service bureaucracy, and opened up Græntfjall’s financial markets. Emboldened by a landslide election victory that delivered the first absolute majority government in modern political history, many expected her to double down on her liberalizing agenda in her second term, but instead, she has swung to the left, or at least center, with a drive to combat inequality that has seen her outflank even the Left-slate party, busy feuding over its internal politics after 18 months of negotiations to appoint new leadership. Voters have embraced measures such as a huge expansion of cold weather heating subsidies, the long awaited implementation of her childcare and early education program based on policies first observed as Foreign Minister during a tour of Esportiva, and a sweeping reform of the working tax credit. Economists, supportive of her deregulatory agenda in the first term, have not joined in the acclaim, sounding a warning over mounting deficits. “Cutting taxes, fighting a war in Jabal Akhdar, expanding the social welfare state, something has to give,” warned political economist Michael Játvarðsson. “There is no magic money tree and at some point all of this is going to have to be paid for.” He said that Michaelsdóttir’s “growth gamble” was thus far not seeing increased tax revenues because of the corporate tax cuts passed in her first term and the delays to her pension reforms agreed as part of the civil service overhaul deal with the unions.

CORNCOB invitations go out as Michaelsdóttir urges climate action

Prime Minister Kaija Michaelsdóttir has announced a revised timetable for the delayed Conference Of Rushmori Nations on Climate, Oceans, and Biodiversity and will begin inviting world leaders and stakeholders to participate in the conference. While primarily intended to address Rushmori environmental matters, non-Rushmori attendees will be welcomed in observatory capacity. Aspects of the conference have already proved controversial in Græntfjaller politics, including the provisions of a policing bill passed to deal with potential protests from what Michaelsdóttir described as “radical environmentalists, anti-capitalists, and people who listen to way too much crust-punk”, and the optics of the conference being held at the Florus Convention Center in Altendalur, traditionally Græntfjall’s major western industrial city and home of its historic whaling industry. “Holding a conference that aims to ‘regreen the precious oceans of the Rushmori region’ within sight of the enormous whale spine that ornaments the Florus Stadion is hypocritical even by this Prime Minister’s low standards,” said left-wing politician Nusaiba Jihaadsdóttir el-Siddiqui, who is expected to participate in protests against the Conference. While several Rushmori nations expressed interests in the CORNCOB, none had committed to attendance of writing.

The Controversial Squad

Pemecutan Puri - Pemecutan is taking the opportunity over the invitation to the Eagle's Cup. Following the delay of 12th Mandalanusa Cup, the national football team still have the time for the event. However, it is resulting in a tight schedule for the team. But the participation is seen as the team's warming up competition for either Mandalanusa Cup and the upcoming World Cup qualifying round. And for the XV Eagle's Cup, the manager, Surya Agung Pramana released 26 names that are called for the competition. The names are giving an eyebrows for both the fans and the sports critics.

In the name list, we saw names that coming from second and third league clubs. And also lack of players that playing abroad. Bola magazines editor, Kristian Wiradarma express his doubt over the squad. He was questioning Pramana's selection. And the absence of players from Pesetih Titih and only 1 player from Pescam Campuhan are also in his concern. A comment in PFA social media account of the names post also highlighted about Peseguyang Peguyangan that have more players than Pesub Ubung, the Kasa League champion. Even Nilayam United have more players in the current squad rather than the champion. These odd facts are keeps surfacing in social media and other media. They are all questioning Pramana's selection.

In his defence, Pramana said that he wants to give an equal representative for the best clubs in Pemecutan National League.

The good players are not always in the main league. There are also good players in the lower league. Do they doesn't have the chance to be in the national team just because they came from lower league? I think we need to change that mindset all together. Everyone have a fair chance to be in the national team.

Surya Agung Pramana

Despite the statement, people are still not satisfied. Especially with Nilayam United representative in the squad. The club is based in Soracana Islands. Although they are playing in Pemecutan domestic league and both countries have an agreement about its players, but that doesn't mean they are being prioritize. When asking about this, Pramana doesn't want to comment anything. Sport critics, Pande Nyoman Rai stated that Pramana's statement was contradictory. "He said that any players can have their chance to be in the national team but he is clearly prioritize foreign players who have a mutual agreement with us to be in his squad rather than calling our own native players," said Pande Nyoman Rai.

Following the referendum of Soracana Islands, the country is officially independent again. Pemecutan doesn't have any authority over their foreign representative and defense anymore. But as there are many Soracanian athletes have been playing internationally under Pemecutan banner, an agreement is made. The agreement stated that Soracanian athletes are able to play under Pemecutan banner in any regional and/or international event where Soracana Islands not joining in the said event. The rule is more lax for dual citizenship athletes as they can choose whether to represent Pemecutan or Soracana Islands in case of both nations entering the same event. Despite the controversies surrounding the players selection, Pemecutan is ready for the XV Eagle's Cup.

Manager
Image Dan Eastwood
Age: 66
This man from Eura seems to be following in the footsteps of Didrik Gjedrem, first taking the post of Raynor City United when he departed for the Marauders and now taking that post when he has stepped away from that position as well. At United he improved upon a solid foundation that Didrik had established and saw greater success as a result. The VSC is likely hoping that he will be able to replicate that with the national team, although there is a small fear that he may come to deviate from the traditional Vanorian formation. What is known is he can manage egos quite well and has a history of success wherever he goes, with being perhaps the greatest United manager in their long history. Having started his tenure with an AOCAF Cup victory has erased all doubts about his appointment and fans are now excited to see if he can be the one to help the team finally chase down that elusive sixth World Cup title.

Assistant Manager
Kasper Volheim
Age: 47
After a successful trial run with the recently reinstated U21 national team, Volheim was appointed the assistant manager for the senior team as well with the number of youth players that are in the team and pool at large. Having shown to have the capabilities of managing them at Raynor City United's youth team and being a good go between as an assistant in the Di Bradini Cup, Volheim looks to keep up the success rate at the senior level, helping lead the team to end its trophy drought in the regional championship.

Keepers
GK: Isak Helland, age 34, Aleiusia Capital Image
GK: Günter Obermaier, age 29, Ulsa Image
GK: Daniel Wolter, age 29, Oakstone Image
Helland had a fairly successful cycle as the number one for the Marauders as they chased their way into the semifinals. However it is likely that he only has another cycle, maybe two at the highest of levels and despite his rather impressive reflexes, there is a fear that he will lose that excellence faster than yet. Yet he retains the number one spot for the regional championship and holds off a stern challenge from Obermaier and Wolter, both Euran based and having played quite well with their domestic clubs over the last few seasons. It is likely never going to be a point of strength for the Marauders, but perhaps with this allotment of keepers the position may no longer prove to be a weakness, at least for the time being.

Defenders
R/CB: Ralph Winter, age 29, Kitara AA Image
CB: Louise Løvoll, age 25, Mar Sara FC (F)
CB: Claudia Moench, age 31, Raynor City United (F)
CB: Samira Lindström, age 24, Raynor City United (F)
LRCB Pierre Wisniewski, age 29, Herzegovina City FC Image
L/CB Karoline Wellenbrink, age 29, Raynor City United (F)
Learning to defend is not something that usually comes natural to Vanorians, yet lately there has been quite the crop of talented youngsters who have had the inclination, mixed in well with veterans who have been taught to hone their craft to be a solid strength for the team rather than an alleged weakpoint. The heart of defends is Ralph Winter who early on won everything and has had to battle complacency and done so admirably, using his experience and talent to great effect. Claudia Moench and Louise Løvoll will play either side of Winter in the starting line up, being perhaps the two best defenders in the Premiership over the last season, though Moench's club teammates in Wellenbrink and Lindström both would have a say in the matter. Wisniewski is a versatile defender, comfortable across the entire backline and is best used when the team wants to employ a four at the back system to kill off games or against opponents who warrant a change in formation.

Midfielders
LW: Indra Söderström, age 29, Brinemouth Image (F)
L/RW: Kaaren Lothar, age 29, Baskita FC Image (F)
D/MC: Gideon Riemann, age 29, AS Bezieres Image
MC: Götz Konstantin, age 29, Bastion Image
MC: Selim Estrada Barrientos, age 26, Raynor City United
A/MC: Heike Schoß, age 29, Jinja City FC Image (F)
AMC/ST: Laborious Hawk, age 757, Bastion Image
AMC/ST: Christiane Gröbe, age 29, Bakermouth Image (F)
MC/AMLR: Götz Makatsch, age 29, CF Outineau Image
L/RW: Andreas Bjerk, age 25, Burnaby SC Image
AMLR Miriam Troegner, age 29, Kingsgrove Image (F)
So long as Laborious Hawk continues to don the kit of the Marauders, the midfield for the side will be one that is formidable and the key to success for the team, with the captain at the heart of it in the attacking midfielder position. The playmaking talents of Schoß are enabled by the steely defensive presence of Gideon Riemann. It is on the wings that the biggest question marks now are, with Panfilo Veliz having retired both from club and country, meaning that for the first time in a decade someone else will start on the right. For the time being that is Miriam Troegner, but after a remarkable season with Burnaby, Bjerk could be in a position to earn that position. Indra Söderström is likely to be a key figure, having blossomed in her time in Nephara to a prime talent, but she will need to stay healthy and fit as the options behind her are not as reliable as she has proven to be over the last few tournaments.

Forwards
ST/LW: Lothas Ludwig, age 29, Crisisbless Image
ST: Jutta Palminger, age 28, FC Capri (F)
ST: Elias Hammer, age 30, Lonngeylin Coast Image
ST: Taina Vääräniemi, age 27, Dí Maozöxê Image (F)
ST: Hadi Lundström, age 27, Raynor City United (F)
At the top it is the Ludwig show, not that he has the ego to claim it, but he is one of the best strikers in all of the game right now with a brilliant mix of pace, power, and precision to make him a deadly finisher up front. Scoring goals for fun at Felsenkirchen and at very important intervals for the national team, he alongside Hawk are probably the only two names you could pen into any starting eleven on any given matchday. With a big move to Nephara, will Ludwig be able to transition to the part of his career where he is supposed to be at his prime for club and country? Palminger currently has the position of starting alongside him, being an unusual target forward type build after a late growth spurt, though she is deceptively quick for her size. Behind them are three strikers who all play at an big club and as at least rotational starters with goals in them, not much separating the three from one another, though all are quite some ways behind Ludwig in sheer ability as a striker.

The Island Emirate of Turori has four main zones as part of is primary inhabited areas. The majority of Turori's Population resides on the south eastern portion of Turori's main Island. This includes the Capital City of Almintora, the surrounding capital region including Cednia and the purpose built sportropolis of Eelandii as well as on the Northern shore the city of Kionao. While Almintora is still the largest city in the Island Emirate, Cednia and its associate Beach life at the southern tip of Turori's main Island have become one of its most popular for entertainment as well as holiday style tourism. Outside of this, the large portion of Turori's remaining population are in the Mliona region of Turori's smaller Island, where folks who want to be detached from the hustle bustle of the Capital City life tend to reside.

Directly between Almintora and Cednia Beach sits Eelandii, a purpose built "Sportropolis" built midway between Turori's two largest cities, Almintora and Cednia. Eelandii itself is not a town or a city but a purpose-designated that initially consisting of just Eel's park - itself a state of the art sporting complex for football and athletics, the campus at Eelandii was quickly expanded to include the offices of the Football Association of Turori and a permanent training facility for the Turori National Team. 90% of Turori's Top Tier international talent spends time at the Eelandii Academy at some point in their development. Turori will kick things off in the Eagle's Club Group against another former Eagle's Cup Champion, Nephara, at the Eagle's's's Club in Eelandii.

The most popular souvenir in Eelandii currently is the Eelskin Brown Vuvuzela.

Fixture :: Home Match #1 v. Nephara

Location :: The Eagle's Club is located in the purpose built city of Eelandii, midway between the Turorian cities of Almintora and Cednia.

Capacity :: 8,000 + Add'l Temporary Seating

Stadium History :: Although Turori were champions of Eagle's Cup III, the purpose built Eagle's Club facility in Eelandii was not constructed until just prior to Eagle's Cup V. Prior to this, Almintora National Stadium in Almintora was Turori's designated Eagle's facility.

The main pitch at the Eagle's Club has only one permanent grand stand which sits directly over the facility entrance at the south end of the stadium behind the goal with a capacity of about 8,000. The main pitch is available as a practice facility for any Eagle's Club member, permanent or cyclic honorary members, when visiting Atlantian Oceania or Turori whether they are contesting an International Match or just holding a tour practice. There are additional pitches and sport facilities on the complex accessible only to Eagle's Club members. Additionally, all facilities in the purpose built sporting hub of Eelandii are available to Eagle's Club members on a first-come first-serve basis. During Eagle's Cup events, temporary grandstands are constructed along the two long sides of the pitch supporting between 20-45,000 additional fans. The temporary grand stands are physically separated from the pitch by a Brick promenade covered in vine overgrowth.

Primary Tenants :: All members of the Eagle's Club are the primary tenants at the Eagle's Club main pitch. The expanded-seating capacity Eagle's Club venue is used only for Eagle's Club knockout round matches or matches between two Eagle's Club members.

Cednia, Turori
Postcard:
Image

Fixture :: Home Match #2 v. Banija

Location :: Cednia is the Vacation Center of the Island Emirate boasting the best Coastlines, nightlife and business opportunities within Turori in a sprawling coastal city.

Capacity :: 103,000

Stadium :: The Cednia Beach Center is one of the purest examples of capitalism and expansion in the Vilitan Leagues. Originally a modest plot for a modest team, the stadium has risen along with the rise of the club. Now, a world class stadium capacity wise, there are concessions that were made. The training grounds outside the center are second rate, and parking is virtually non-existent at the complex. Public transportation - including your own two feet, would be required for fans to access the stadium. Thats alright though, plenty of lodging surrounds the local area within walking distance.

The Cednia Beach Center has been home to International competitions for many seasons including the Cup of Harmony 53 Final contested between Darmen and New Montreal States. New Montreal States ran out 4-2 winners on the day in what was an otherwise quiet and successful day at the park for fans attending at the Cednia Beach Center, showcasing the ability for Cednia to host the marquee matchups of International Sport despite the close confines of the stadium with its Cednia surroundings. Just two cycles later, the Cednia Beach Center would be home to one of the the most talked about World Cup Finals of its era, when Atlantian Oceania powerhouse Starblaydia in search of their record 6th World Cup took on an Audioslavia side that had made more World Cup Finals without ever winning than any other nation. In that game, Audioslavia finally prevailed to earn their first World Cup title while Starblaydia still seeks that elusive 6th title.

Almintora, Turori
Postcard:
Image

Fixture :: Home Match #3 v. Baker Park:

Location :: Almintora National Stadium is located in Almintora, Turori. Almintora is the capital city of the Island Emirate of Turori and has been the capital ever since the time of Turorian independance.

Capacity :: 79,000 (All Seated)

Stadium History :: The Almintora National Stadium served as the home of the Football Association of Turori and the Turori National team from their entrance onto the international competition scene prior to World Cup 15 until the Football Association relocated their headquarters to the purpose built Eels Park community in Eelandii, Turori.

The Almintora National Stadium was originally constructed as a 45,000 seat stadium for use by the National Team during World Cup 15 and World Cup 16 qualification. However, when it became evident that Turori's nearby neighbors, the Tropics of Vilita, were being considered as the potential hosts of World Cup 17, the Football Association of Turori strategically aligned itself with their former colonial lands in order to ensure that of the 8 stadia selected for the World Cup Finals, one would be from Turori. Naturally, the Almintora National Stadium was the stadium of choice and would serve as the first time the Island Emirate of Turori would open its doors to a major international event. With a lot on the line, the Turorian government partnered with the Football Association of Turori to increase the capacity of the Almintora National Stadium from 45,000 to 79,000 in time for the World Cup 17 finals.

The move was proven even more fruitful when the Turori Eels themselves qualified for the World Cup 17 finals, the first finals appearance for Turori, and were able to play each of their group stage matches at their home stadium.

With the success of hosting one group of the World Cup 17 finals at the Almintora National Stadium, Turori had put itself on the map. Soon after it would be announced that the Island Emirate of Turori would host World Cup 19 in a joint bid with The Belmore Family. Naturally, the crown jewel of Turorian stadiums, the Almintora National would ultimately host the World Cup Final - the single most prestigious match in the multiverse.

Unfortunately for the Almintora National Stadium, hosting the World Cup 19 final was something of a 'peak' over the course of the stadiums lifespan. Co-sharing the arena between the Turori National Team and Turorian domestic side FC Almintora accelerated the wear, tear and aging within the facility. To make matters worse, the mediocre performance of FC Almintora in the domestic league meant that incentive to invest in further renovation of the arena was minimal. The stadium would still be chosen to host the final of the 26th Cup of Harmony, but even by that time the Cednia Beach Center in Cednia had started to become the premier sporting facility on the Island. In fact, even the Cup of Harmony 26 final was originally awarded to the newly built Coliseum of the Inurahtii in the Inura Forest, however, the Safety & Health Initiative of Turori determined that the site would not be ready in time to host spectators, with the Final site being retroactively chosen as the Almintora National Stadium due to its experience having hosted the World Cup 19 final.

Despite having been supplanted as Turori's international stadium of choice, the Almintora National Stadium has accrued one honor that no other stadium in Turori - or in Vilita, can lay claim. Almintora National Stadium is the only stadium in Vilita & Turori to have been selected as a host site for the UICA Globe Cup, having been home to the 55th Globe Cup final. Almintora National Stadium also hosted the 66th UICA Champions Cup Final.

Primary Tenants :: FC Almintora currently compete in the Vilitan Declasse Division. The Turori National Team continue to play occasional matches at the arena during World Cup Qualifying due to the arenas central location in Almintora, the capital city of Turori.

:: Cocoabo Crossing Sign

While these days this sign may be more prevalent at Cocoabo Park in the Cocoabo Forest, the Cocoabo Crossing sign can still be found in some areas of Turori, particularly in roads leading to the North-Western community of Inura in the Inura Forest.

The Cocoabo Crossing sign warns of the presence of Free-Roaming Cocoabo in the area. The Cocoabo Preservation Society has historically count of the number of Cocoabo Crossing signs that are present in the Island Emirate of Turori and uses the addition - or removal of such signs as a first-order indicator of the national impact of their efforts. Of course, since the adoption of the lands of the Cocoabo Forest, it has become even more difficult for the Cocoabo Preservation Society to justify maintaining dedicated native lands for the Cocoabo on Turori's main island and some Cocoabo Crossing signs have been removed in recent years. The Cocoabo Preservation Society is fighting back, however, with a campaign showing positive interactions between Citizen and Cocoabo in a fictional day-to-day setting.

All-Banijan Sports Magazine Newsroom, planning meeting ahead of the 15th Eagle's Cup XV

The ABSM's chief editor walked into the meeting room, as he always did- 5 minutes late. While journalists were notorious for being probably the most on-time profession ever(imagine being LATE for breaking news!), Banijans were notoriously lax about how they handled time. And while Banijan journalists tended to be on time for the important stuff, "the important stuff" didn't always include their regular, daily meetings.

It would be their final, full in person meeting before the popular sporting magazine would send reporters to track this team across the multiverse, to cover the chase for the Eagle's Cup. "Alright, lads, who's ready?" Nobody said a word, as always- the editor was a man who did not like to be interrupted. "Alright, there's 8 of you in here. I want to hear an idea from each of you- what's something interesting that we should write about during the Eagle's Cup? Beyond match reports... It's a big time for Banijan soccer. Go!"

The first reporter, furthest to the left, stood up. "Well, this is the 10th anniversary of World Cup 83, the last time we hosted the World Cup. And the time we had our own greatest upset in World Cup history- ending the two-time world champions request for a threepeat on home soil. So why not write about the inside story of our nation's greatest upset victory ever in this sport?"

The reporter immediately to his right stood up- and they'd continue to go in this line. "This year will also mark the 10th season of the Shango-Fogoa Premier League. We've talked about the monetary growth it has caused, and how global interest exploded in the Banijan game. But many clubs were left behind. Even with the parachute payments sent, halving the number of top flight slots(from 20 to 10, to make room for 10 Farf clubs) has been difficult for many clubs at home to deal with. THat's why I'll say we should write about teams that have been left behind in the modern era in our nation."

The reporter next to him stood. "It's simple. Who doesn't want to write about the juiciest details? Why not write about the biggest sports scandal in our nation's history?"

Then, the next reporter stood up. "This cycle will be the 20th cycle-versary of our World Cup debut. Famously, we didn't win a game at this cycle. So why don't we write about our nation's first ever WCC win? Set the scene, the expectations, the frenzy, etc... And go from there!"

The next reporter then rose. "The sport and the political have always intertwined. Why don't we write about our country's athletes who have successfully pursued a career in politics? Furthermore, how else do sport and politics mix in your country? Are certain clubs associated with certain politicos or political movements?"

The next reporter stood. "I'm a business nerd- tell me about the money. What's the financial status of pro athletes in this nation? Are they rich, is it middle class, are they working in their post career, are they retiring strictly based off of playing earnings, etc... All the fun facts. And, of course- how the hell do athlete taxes work in your nation? Also, tell me about the finances of club football in this nation. Are teams fan-owned? Business owned? Restricted to local ownership, or is it a free for all? Do you have state-owned clubs?"

The seventh reporter stood, and paused for a second before speaking. "Give me the inside scoop on national team culture. What's a day in the life of a national teamer at a major tournament? What does their schedule look like? How much time are they spending with their family? Do new players get hazed? All of that."

The last reporter remained seated for a second, before standing. "Eschew the sports angle entirely. Let's learn about each other's countries! Specifically, the animals. Tell us about the animal life in your nation. What exotic animals does your nation have? What are the hunting laws, and hunting culture? What kinds of animals are you allowed to have as pets?" Everyone looked at him, and grinned. The curse of being last in a room like this- if your idea was taken earlier, you've gotten think of a new one STAT.

Eagle's Cup XV- Competition 'as fierce as ever for playing time' as the Eagle's Cup is set to begin

DODOMA, BUNYORO- Of course, Banijans had two international tournaments, coincidingly neatly with each other, to kickstart the Summer. The Mihaly Invitational, where we sent our 'B team'- although Pam Scott would not call it that. Exploratory team, whatever you want to call it. They went there with Namakula Kawesa serving as a guest manager, and won the whole tournament in Cardenao- dropping points just once, in a draw on the final day of the group stages. It was an excellent performance, as almost everybody sent some form of exploratory squad to Anaia for that tournament.

The main squad was in southwestern AO, as Banija laid it all on the line to retain the AOCAFs. Unfortunately, while we made the run to our second consecutive AOCAF Final(and third straight major tournament, as they sandwich WC920, we could not hold onto the trophy, as Valanora, empowered by the raucous home crowd in Raynor City, earned their sixth trophy at a regional level. With such a deep run for the senior side, Pam Scott told reporters that she is giving that squad the rest of the summer off, to recover before the club season starts- and with it, World Cup Qualifying. So she's out here with a squad based largely of players from the Mihaly Invitational Squad- although she's made a few changes.

This squad, while it has the same core, has a few changes. The team is a little bit older, and she wanted to explore more players. "Just because a player was in Cardenao and they are not here, does not mean that they cannot make the final 23 for World Cup Qualifying, and the Finals." She told reporters. "But I view this tournament as an opportunity to get an extra look at players who were in Cardenao, as well as get a first look at players who would not be able to get onto the plane to Cardeano. While we're focused on development- we definitely want to win this tournament, and will lay it all on the line to do so."

What are the changes? Both starting wingbacks are having their first ever starts at the NT level. Okoth Tayira of Hoima at left back, and Adroa Kiryamunyolo at right back. Both, of course, are 23. "It's tough to get into the Banijan squad at either back spot, with Tairu Conateh probably the best in the world on the right, and we've got some young talent on the left." Said a team analyst. "But, especially on the left, nothing's set in stone. Sohna Kelley is the backup left back, and although she's started a World Cup Final, it doesn't mean she'll be back for the next cycle. Tayira certainly has a chance to impress. And as for Kiryamunyolo- Conateh isn't exactly getting any younger. Does he retire early to give it all at the club level?"

She hasn't been shy about giving even older players their debuts- burnishing her reputation of leaving 'no stone unturned'. She's giving a 29 year old CM at Aissa United, Wasa Kah, his international debut. "Kah has deserved it- although he's almost 30, he's worked tirelessly his entire career." Pam Scott told reporters. "He'll be a great veteran to have in this camp. Calm the players down, show some leadership, and most importantly, show skill on the ball." He was joined by Mynda Electra winger, Zion Izuchukwu. "Zion can play too- he simply doesn't get a ton of attention way up north.' She told reporters. "Let's see what he can do here at the Eagle's Cup, eh?"

Banija will open the tournament at home, against the Commonwealth of Baker Park, before traveling to the Vilitan Cove to play Turori on Matchday 2.

SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TEAM

Shingoryeoite-Takil: Quebecois football is a weird breed of its own with emphasis on total football. Of course, this means a general mix of offensive hellfire, bleeding brand of resilience and sheer joy of physical brutality. While those Quebecois players may come from all shapes and form, but if there's one thing that they all have in common, is their love of staying violent. The footballing culture here has taught and still teaches that red cards that prevent a goal are necessary for the good in the minds of both the players and the fans, and if a player cannot handle simple contact or flops, then he's dead in the minds of most people, even their family members. Of course, whether they are skilled players of their own or not is another story, and the legendary forward corps of the seventies of the World Cup era had both skills and brawn, but it's a squad that loves to get fast, high and violent, and will not be afraid to demonstrate their flames.

Q-League and the league composition of the players: Over the years, the Q-League have seen improved performance on the IFCF stage, as well as the solid presence of import and domestic players making an impact with their respective national teams. Still, while the league's financially strong, the past behaviour of major national team players going abroad to improve their career (and more importantly, stay in the national team conversation) has remained strong and persists to this day and age where the Q-League has managed to establish firm, clear stronghold among the upper echelon of domestic leagues across the Multiverse. Thus it is expected that a vast majority of any senior side (this includes EC and CAFA) to consist mostly of those who play abroad. For now, those who are staying home aren't necessarily pushovers, but they are just waiting for their time to head abroad and shine in a major club like their teammates, seniors or legends have done for ages.

Historical Performance: Two renditions of Quebec and Shingoryeo - this being the second edition - has participated in the World Cup qualifying editions of cycles 62 to 77, and from 85 to now. In almost twenty-five editions of the World Cup competitions, the Grim Reapers have qualified for 14 World Cups, including a stretch of nine straight qualifications between the World Cup 69 and 77. More recently the Grim Reapers have made the second round of the last two World Cups after requiring a dramatic, second-half turnaround to qualify for the World Cup, restoring a shade of reputation that many had worried were tarnished after horrible performances during the World Cups 89 and 90 cycles.

It is still true, however, that the team's biggest international successes go back a generation, with their strongest slate of results found in the mid-seventies of World Cup competition when they placed fourth at the World Cup 77 and made it to back-to-back quarterfinals since. While mostly forgotten in the general narrative, they have also placed third in the Cup of Harmony 81 just three cycles ago. Their relatively high-achieving performance, however, have not translated on the other levels of competition with the Grim Reapers mostly finishing on group stages or second round of the DBC, U18WC or their now-discontinued participation in the AOCAF and CAFA tournaments.

The Bubonic Plague: God, not them. The infamous ultras of the Quebecois national teams in various sports have made their names known for their love of indulgences, festivities and most importantly causing chaos and fury wherever they go. Armed with pyrotechnics, torches and of course the hand-held flares, they are famous for their fluorescent banners that are either used to intimidate visiting sides or to humiliate the Grim Reapers for poor performance. Armed with drums, vuvuzelas and musical instruments on top, the sound of the buzzing fans are often a challenge for anybody - both home and away - to play, and while the Bubonic Plague has remained mostly apolitical outside of its usual nationalistic dose, their penchant to end up on various events better that are belonged to current affairs (see: Quebec-Farfadillis second round match that has led into nationwide protests and a massive forest fire across Szoirsia).

Rivals: Who are the rivals for this Grim Reapers' team? It's a tough question, partly due to a significant gap between the two renditions of the IAQUE sides, as well as the ever-changing nature of the national teams. In the late-60s and early-70s, the biggest of their rivals have come from historically-friendly San Jose Guayabal and Cosumar, while Schottia, a small-sized nation located in the far-flung region of Tyran, would gradually take over as the primary rival to the Grim Reapers.

Of course the Schottic claim to being the Grim Reapers' biggest rivals could be challenged on the grounds that the relationship shared between the two nations have stayed mostly cordial thanks to strong relationship shared by players and coaching staff of two nations, most famously shown by the longtime mentorship of Corinne Martel-Burns by Hazel van Robben, the marriage of internationally-renowned physio Claire Hanson to Leonardo Conavacio, and not to mention Sir. Lionel Mah's decadelong tenure with the World Cup 79 champions.

Unfortunately the promise of what was bound to be a close rivalry between the two did not materialise as the sponsorship scandal sunk the Quebecois Government and led into their twelve-year absence from international football. And by the time the Quebecois have made their comeback to international football under the IAQ banner, the ongoing instabilities of the Schottic football pyramid have unfortunately put a long pause to the decades of friendship that have lingered up to that point. So with their shutdown, combined with the absence of the aforementioned two nations, the Grim Reapers are back to square one without a clearcut rival to set their flames with.

What has emerged since their return, however, was a growing sense of intra-regional solidarity as the Grim Reapers, rejuvenated by the chance many have felt would never come again, have reached out and actively looked for growing partners. And while there does not appear to be clearcut rivals for the Grim Reapers yet, there is no doubt that many possibilities lie ahead in the future following key encounters with the Commonwealth of Baker Park, only one of the sides the Grim Reapers have played at least once a cycle, Chromatika, their neighbours across the Grinshem sea, Ko-oren, the other neighbour across the Salamantic Sea, and high-octane neighbours of Huayramarca. On the other side of the Blood Sea that separate the regions there also exists a couple of options with Mytanija, one of very few in the world whose fieriness can equal or even outdo the Grim Reapers; Valladares, longtime allies and friends where many legends have plied their trade at the LFV, and Cassadaigua, a major economic and political ally. It is here we wonder whose paths will cross with the Grim Reapers more often and set the fire - who's gonna be the next?

NATIONAL TEAM STAFF

General Manager/Senior Team Director: Lükækš Væñøœrëñbérghüïś, Unknown age (Vdara)
Manager: Ruben Condori, 62 (Huayramarca/Quebec)
Assistant Manager: Park Bong-Doo, 36

A longtime youth and collegiate coach in his adoptive country of Quebec, as well as a decadelong second-in-command to late Omar Caicedo of Huayramarcan national team, Condori is a technician, a mild-tempered professor of the game who not only practices the extreme form of Gegenpressing (see: Roger Schmidt of Benfica IRL), but thinks about the big picture of the national team program as well. With this in mind Condori is open to putting together a rotation of players, especially on a longer competition like the World Cup Qualifying or the Eagles' Cup, and has achieved mild success with the senior team in ensuring their second consecutive qualification, even if it had involved particularly-disturbing form against beatable sides on the upper-middle half of the qualification group.

Park Bong-Doo is a much-younger, internal selection made by Condori after the dismissal of Sam Oronhyatekha midway into the qualification stage. He is often remembered for being seen on the pitchside with red suits and black ties, though what makes him a valuable asset is his decadelong experience on in-house level. His tenure as both the Under-18 and the Under-21 national team coach, while all on assistant and positional coach level, is heavily valued considering the relatively consistent practice of promoting youth and junior national teamers to the senior team, and the two, despite their age differences, get along well. Unlike Oronhyatekha, however, Park has not had a meaningful gig managing a senior side, and his ability to adjust to the senior level of competitions will be the X-factor of the upcoming World Cup cycle.

26-PERSON SQUAD

Captain: Frank Lundrigan, 35
Vice Captain: Donovan Kim-Lumanyika, 36
Third Captain: Nathalie Thormeyer, 28
Style Modifier: +5
Predicted First XI: Moussenguet; Wilson-Didh - Dormann - Chewbacca - Verlaan; Yim - McTavish; Vanderley - Pengsoo - Currie-Masson; Kim

Few things to note for those playing the Grim Reapers for this tournament:
  • Player Utilisation: As with the World Cup 92, Mihaly Cardenao Invitational and the age-side tournaments, twenty-six player entries will be used for this tournament. All five substitution cards will be used in three periods, and sometimes early into the match to necessiate a tactical change or if a player is feeling tired or slowed down.
  • Captaincy and the Send-Offs: Since the Grim Reapers' return to the World Cup qualification in the World Cups 91, the RQFA have been slowly aiming to mend relations with the national team veterans who were forced to retire in waves following disastrous, non-qualification cycles of World Cups 89 and 90. In past we have seen Marco Hertel and Erin Kang star and put strong performance in Farfadillis with the World Cup 91 as their send-off tournament, while the World Cup 92 would see Enrico Hanson-Conavacio, the son of Grim Reapers' legend Leonardo and the talismanic striker of Myana in Chromatika, cap off a decadelong service as well.

This time, the honour goes to Donovan Kim-Lumanyika (most recently the Defender of the Season with Canalave Dragons of Valladares), Frank Lundrigan (former captain) and Kim Seung-Yoon (multi-time golden boot winner with RGS Athletic of Eastfield Lodge), with the trio of Grim Reapers being welcomed back to international football for one last time. Once infamously remembered for being the captain of the worst Grim Reapers' side in fifty years, Frank Lundrigan is given the armband once more to restore honour on the player's long career, with Donovan Kim-Lumanyika and Nathalie Thormeyer named as vice and third captain.
  • Timing: In my timeline this occurs a year after the TW38 and months following the end of current, WIP Q-League season (2057-58). It is also held before the World Cup 92 qualification stage, though a year after the current DBC. As a result, the club registration status of the players may be slightly outdated by the time we look back to this in few months especially as this would be based on their most recent season (aka. the ones due for IFCF submission in late-February) and may not reflect the club changes few, some or any of these players would have in future.
  • Who are these players?: Due to the RQFA's CBA with the Quebecois Football Players' Association (QFPA), as well as the amendments made to the pre-existing agreement made between the Ministry of Sport, the RQFA and the Imperial Sporting Council, Quebecois footballers are prohibited from taking part in both World Cup and Eagles' Cup squads. This means that most if not all players here are or were previously part of the national team pool. Some have represented the national team extensively, with time more their enemy than their form, while others are still on the start of their respective careers or are considered to be on the borderlands of the national team pool. In any case, however, most if not all have represented Quebec on youth and/or senior level, with the Eagles Cup counting as senior caps for them.[
  • Political stance: Well, this will be my prompt question - What are some of the political stances taken by your national team's footballers in past and present? What socioeconomic demographics and ethnicities do they generally come from? Have their stances become part of the major political and/or social discourses in your country in past, and how much power do they hold?

If You're Happy to Play Banija, Clap Your Hands
Scott McCrae
The Daily Mail Chief Soccer Writer

The Baker Park National Team will open up Eagles Cup XV against the same side they closed out Eagles Cup XIV with, before facing two of the three group stage opponents from that tournament once again.

Looking on the bright side, the odd team out are only the World Cup holders, who defeated the Bee's opening foe in the Final.

Banija and the Commonwealth will resume their rivalry following a World Cup cycle that saw the nations drift further away from one another in the pecking order of multiverse soccer than they were at the conclusion of the 3rd Place match in Zwangzug won by Baker Park after 120 minutes.

The Kadongo Kamu and il Bombi are separated by 23 places in the KPB rankings, the largest spread between the sides since both qualified for World Cup 80. Pam Scott has validated her WC Hall of Fame status by winning nearly everything in sight recently: the loss to Valanora in the AOCAF Final marked a third consecutive trophy match (four if you count the Cup of Champions Final/EC 14 semi-final) for the Banijans, who have to once again be regarded as one of the half dozen or so favorites for the 93rd World Cup title.

The visitors in Dodoma went through a fast paced, spirited workout at the Eagles Club stadium where Baker Park will be making their fifth appearance, although the first against the home nation; formerly called the Albert III Stadium, the Bees won a group stage match over The Maccabees in World Cup 83 before being eliminated by Mriin in the round of 16 after extra time. Since being renamed, Park have played two Eagles Cup knockout fixtures here: the 3rd Place match of the Cocoa-bo Challenge Trophy during EC 12 and the semi-final of the Cup of Champions in the following tournament, both wins.

Scott will see familiar faces on the opposing bench & in the technical area, but maybe not ones she expected. Hailey Reinhart-Zavaros will be recipient of the pre and post-match handshake, and former NT player Darren Haller will be one of the staff assistants; the BP boss is looking forward their encounter.
"I'm gonna ask if we're gonna sneak a cig at halftime or after the final whistle (laughter). She and I were the only people at Birkenfeld who had a past as smokers--I don't even know if Kate (DiMarini) knew much about it--so I was her dealer in illicit cigarettes, we usually just passed one back and forth like teenagers. But it will be a fantastic thrill to have a chance to match wits against her. Like the others--Jen, Kate, Zoe, Danni (Harper, Under-18 manager), Ella (Elaine King, goalkeeping coach)--I will always owe a debt to Pam professionally."

The second Eagles Club Group match will see the BPNT travel to Rushmore to face Nephara, at the Eagles Club in Brinemouth; the sides played to a scoreless draw in the previous EC group stage, which came on the heels of the Commonwealth's first ever victory over the Cormorants in the home leg at the BBP Stadium, a 5-1 result which was also the 500th match played by BP in the mixed gender era.
A 4-3 Baker Park victory on the final matchday of World Cup 92 has extended the Bees unbeaten streak to 3 following the Cormorants four consecutive wins in the series.

Snow Wolves edge Eagl’e’s’ Cup thriller over Pemecutan

7 goals were exchanged in 56 riotous minutes of football as Græntfjall and Pemecutan, former Baptism of Fire competitors and now two of the top ranked sides in world soccer, ensured the 15th Eagl’e’s’ Cup got off to a high octane start in Græntfjaller Multinesia. The Snow Wolves emerged triumphant but not before substitute Wisnu Pramana’s flick header to pull back to 4–3 capped the seven goal mayhem and forced Græntfjall into defensive nerves for the last 20 minutes of the game. In a team featuring a number of debuts, regular first team starters Vanessa Marvinsdóttir and Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir played the starring roles for the Snow Wolves, who were rocked by falling 1–0 to a slightly unusual goal. Prolific poacher Leo Olivando claimed the goal as he deflected in Oscar Tri Atmaja’s speculative long range strike, backwards through his own legs, wrong-footing the unsighted Hanif Anwar in goal. Græntfjall struck back with a bit of history as Ayaan Kabir became the first Muslim player to score for the senior national team, connecting sweetly with a cross from Leona Jörvarsdóttir and driving a half-volley past Wira Putra. Vanessa claimed the lead ten minutes later as she was quickest to react to a bobbling ball in the six yard box poorly cleared from a corner, and a comfortable win beckoned as she won a penalty with a turn of pace to round Satya Putra Laksamana, forcing the center back to haul her down by her shoulders. Kæja converted to continue her 100% record from the spot in blue-and-white.

Pemecutan fought back boldly and had much the better of the run of play for the opening 15 minutes of the second half, capped by a deserving goal as Agus Kusumajaya let rip with a sweet strike that left Hanif helpless. But Mímir Waltheofsson, despite continuing to struggle to find the net himself, was on hand to provide an assist with an excellent pass through to Vanessa, who skipped around Wira Putra to finish, and though Pramana’s fine header turned in Komang Trisna Mahayana’s dangerous ball, Græntfjall were able to hold on for the win. They suffered a blow, losing the third of three successive left backs to injury as Leona, replacing Jan Játmundsson, who was replacing Jasmijn Spiderlair, went down with a knee problem that ruled her out of the ensuing game against Electrum. Against the World Cup 78 champions, they triumphed 2–1, following an early first half strike by Kæja; Seb, the mystic ball of energy, got a late consolation for the hosts from a Nindethana2 free kick that once more posed the question of poor set-piece defense, but Emilia Hrafnþórsdóttir’s header was enough for the win. Græntfjall will be without Mímir, who sustained a back injury in Electrum, for their next two games, playing Quebec in Multinesia before travelling to Pemecutan for the highly anticipated second leg.

CLUNGE-SQUAD celebrates Lunar New Year in Háttmark

The Chinese and Lúshānite Union of Nationalities (Græntfjaller Establishment) and sister organization San-Nogsaeg & Quebecois Union of Associated Diaspora (CLUNGE-SQUAD) celebrated the Lunar New Year across Græntfjall last night, with the biggest celebrations taking place in the Háttmark Chinatown and Koreatown quarters. Though not recognized as an official state holiday by the White Winter Queendom, immigration from the Asian Archipelago, Greater New Tibet, Quebec and Shingoryeo, and other regions where the Lunar New Year plays an important role in the calendar has seen the day become an increasingly prominent feature of secular Græntfjaller life. Real Lúshānite mixed with paper dragons in the Chinatown quarter of capital, while traditional foods were enjoyed across Koreatown. Prime Minister Kaija Michaelsdóttir and Princess Jessika attended a fireworks display that lit up the capital’s night sky. Immigration, assimilation, and ethnic identity have become increasingly prominent topics in Græntfjall’s internal politico-cultural dialogues in recent years, and the generally warm reception given to the celebrations of a non-Catholic, non-Græntfjaller calendar ritual has been taken as a positive sign of a more inclusive attitude from a native population not always welcoming to outsiders.

Double Defeat of Humiliation

Quebec - The experimental squad of Surya Agung Pramana begin their journey in Eagle's Cup XV with 2 away matches. And the results were disappointing. Going to Græntfjall, Pemecutan face a tight match. Leading first by a goal from Olivando, the team's were getting overwhelmed by the Snow Wolves counter attacks. Agung Pramana made numerous substitute especially in the defense. The part where the team's seems to lack on. He also saved Olivando from fatigue. The substitution was giving a new energy to the hopeless team. Pramana then narrowed the gap in minute 71'. However, the rest of the match was still not sided to the guest team. Pemecutan unable to add another goal. 4-3 for Græntfjall.

The second match, Pemecutan went to Quebec where they aimed to get a point. The match start tightly as both team try to control the field. Both team looks playing carefully with one or two surprised attacks. But none of it become a goal. The first half ended in double 0. The Quebecoise initiate an attack in the start of the second half. The surprise attacks made the unprepared Pemecutanian defense overwhelmed. 1-0 for IAQ. Agung Pramana order to tighten the defense so no goal will happened again. But with the decision, the forward become toothless. While on the other hand, the Quebecoise increase their attacking frequency. And one miscommunication of Pemecutanian defense was taken into advantage for the Quebecoise. Wira Putra failed to blocked the shot. And goal. 2-0 for IAQ. Pemecutan started to initiated a counter attacks. But their efforts were unsuccessful. The match ended in 2-0 for the Quebecoise victory.

Coming back home for the continuation of the group stage, Agung Pramana and the team are being criticize for their bad results. The social media page which posting their match results are swarmed with negative comments. Some even requesting the PFA to replace Pramana as the manager of the team. Despite all the negative comments, Pramana still defend his squad selection. He said that they are still need times to adjust themselves. While he is also admitted his wrong decision during the previous matches. And he also promise to do better in the upcoming matches. The next match for Pemecutan is against Electrum. And they will be facing Græntfjall again. And they need to start to gained points to stay in the competition.

Left-wing Utopia

The world of football within Flavovespia is no stranger to unusual, or even absurd acronyms. From commentators, ex-players, broadcasters, and even clubs themselves, there have been some acronyms that nobody can really understand why they exist.

One of the earlier ones came from ICTV Sports. ICTV in itself is a dubious acronym, officially “Independent Corporation of TeleVision”, in practice the name is phonetically “I see TV”. They brought in SAM (Statistical Analysis Machine), in 5AU. Described as a “state of the art analyser and predictor of football games”, its main use was to collate stats of teams and players together, and make real time predictions. However the use of SAM was later criticised, for the overabundance of the phrase “SAM says”, commentator Ian Jordan in particular using it a lot. The personification of what was essentially a computer program didn’t please the purists.

SAM was quietly dropped after a few seasons, but a little over a decade, came the next edition. FRED came along, the Football Results Extended Deriver. More powerful than SAM, the statistical outputs it put out were considered interesting from an analytical point of view. However from a commercial and broadcasting side, FRED was no more well received than SAM was. The feedback wasn’t great, with plenty of viewers considered patronised, despite good reception for the variety of stats it could produce. Ironically, FRED’s initial derision came from its 16AU prediction, when it suggested Hadford Hill, who’d won 7 of the 15 modern era Super League titles, and as recently as 13AU, were likely to finish outside the Top 8. Not only did that happen, they actually went down, in part due to a succession of calamities on and off the field.

Going back to commentators, and Andrew Booth garnered a reputation for acronym abuse. Eschewing the convention for position, he would always use WLB/WRB (wide left/right back) and FLB/FRB (full left/right back). Trying to describe any central midfielder as a B2B (box to box), BW (ball winning), or BP (ball playing) was considered a bit ridiculous, especially when inaccurate. Outspoken striker Roberto Goncalves turned BW Midfielder into a bit of a meme, after a game that saw him receive one too many tough tackles from St Astons City’s Ian Calver, he stated in a post match interview BW clearly meant “big w***er” in his case. Ball winning midfielders with a tendency to be on the more aggressive or dirty side, have since been nicknamed by fans as “the BW of their side”. Dorian Ballard of Loxthorpe Rovers probably the most infamous currently in the Super League, having done something to upset almost all other clubs at some point, a stark contrast to his tall, strong, superhero-esque appearance.

Even clubs themselves aren’t immune to the use of acronyms. Back in the off-season between 26AU and 27AU, Langmere Green Rovers unveiled a new logo and planned new identity. Whilst the new logo was broadly like, compared to the old version, a criticism came with the LGR initialisation. The owners at the time seemed keep to broaden their appeal across the region, nation and maybe even overseas, with Flavovespian clubs stepping into the international club competitions and transfer market. Part of the justification was to try and forge a clearer identity, arguing Langmere Green Rovers was simply too similar to Loxthorpe Rovers in terms of their name and branding. Fans were annoyed, believing that their town name was being erased, and the club was turning too corporate. Within a few games, the LGR name to reduced to being used on 3 letter abbreviations, and club communications returned to using Langmere Green Rovers. It was a welcome relief in some respects, as Langmere Green Rovers would go on to win their first ever Super League in 27AU, the start of their halcyon era. How different could that era have been off the pitch, if they were known as LGR FC?
Formerly the Republic of Greater Waldster, internationally known as Greater Watford. IC It's a long story (OOC I didn't like using real place names)
