It's time for another edition of the world championship in basketball, the International Basketball Championship (IBC)! Signups are officially open and will remain open until the person elected host chooses to cut them off.

Puppet rules

Each user may sign up one puppet in addition to their main nation; ownership of the puppet must be declared. Entry of puppet nations into the tournament is at the host's discretion and it is advised that puppet nations may be the first excluded in the interests of keeping numbers to a workable limit.

Posting with this account rather than IBO one as this in no way an "official" opinion. You, and your puppet, are valid entries. It will be for the elected host to determine what to do with puppet sign-ups.

Right now, you are signing up to every competition that moves, even those where you proudly signal you don't know anything about the sport involved. You're not just signing up your main, but also your puppet while saying it's just a "joke" entry. Your combined RPing for all of these tournaments doesn't amount to a hill of beans. This is not the way to make a good impression.

There is no harm in trying new sports, and I personally compete in many different tournaments, with different puppets.

But I would urge you to think carefully about your time commitments, the number of tournaments you are signing up for, and whether you can commit to participating in them in a way that's fun for the other entrants who will be playing against you to interact with.
