Highland Tires' forgiveness would come in the form of a letter stating that they would be permitted to sell their products only if IRACT made no money from their sales or sponsorship for the duration of the Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke race week, defined as the period of time the drivers and/or their teams would be in Meerderbäume, in light of their history with Kai Qiang predating the formation of IRACT. The fact that one of Team Jebslund's racers used their tires had absolutely nothing to do with the decision whatsoever. Rinzi's petition, once some helpful locals directed him to the proper places to file the paperwork necessary for the petitions to be considered (free of charge), was similarly met with acceptance, as the proceeds would not be going to IRACT.

Khamdo Electronics would also be sent a letter, one informing them that the ban did not apply to them, as their charter had not profited IRACT at that time. They were welcome to sell their merchandise and advertise in Meerderbäume. Several of their products were popular in Jebslund, and it was unusual to see an electronics store anywhere in Jebslund that didn't stock them short of a bargain bin store or a bespoke electronics shop, the latter of which frequently still used parts produced by Khamdo Electronics, making it likely that, even had the ban applied to them, there would have been plenty of room to negotiate, and anyone who made the realisation would have happily skirted the ban by buying products made by them if they were sold under a different name, with it even likely that the name change wouldn't be looked too closely at by the government, whose power depended on keeping the people as happy as feasible.
Jebslund is a nation of kerbals ruled by Emperor Jebediah Kerman. We reject tyranny, believing that rights should be protected, though we also believe said rights end where the rights of others begin.
Shockingly, we *do* use NS stats, with the exception of lifespan.
Singular sapient: Jebslunder
Plural Sapient: Jebslunden
Singular/Plural nonsapient: Kermanic
Note: When a verb can logically only be done by the sapient using/piloting/holding the object in question, then the appropriate demonym for the number of sapients is used.

Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism are ECONOMIC SYSTEMS. Stop conflating them with political systems.

Toys 4 All - Wave 6

Postby Vilita and Turori » Tue Sep 24, 2019 5:58 pm

Toys '4' All Corporate Headquarters, Design & Development Facility, Lopinka, Vilita :: With all Sixteen NSSCRA Chase Competitors having been represented in Chase Waves 1 through 4 and the Co-Branded World Cup 83 Special Edition Equestria and Banija promotional line having concluded, there was once again room on the production line for so-called "base schemes" to be produced in the Racing Collectors line and Ellyn Illinoi went back to the team to get the designs for NSSCRA Season 8 Racing Collectors Wave 6 designs. With 20 base designs already having rolled out in Waves 1-5, Illinoi was finishing out some teams and breaking new ground on others as the collectible die-cast line began to hit the mid-pack drivers in the NSSCRA field. In addition to the base set, Illinoi would start to utilize the second production line for special edition sets such as the earlier produced product line commemorating each of the Five Star Combo drivers. One of the special edition sets Illinoi had on the to-do list was a funded request from CoCoCo to produce a special CoCoCo set featuring each of the cars that has displayed CoCoCo as its primary sponsor throughout the NSSCRA Season 8 campaign set to a special CoCoCo backing. Knowing that the CoCoCo special edition set would be hitting the line soon, Illinoi moved up the scheduled production of the #48 CoCoCo Rocket die-cast of Rockii Ezis up to Wave 6 and swapped out the previously planned #24 Rocket Motorsports machine of Kevin Daniels which would be produced in a later wave. Joining the #48 CoCoCo Rocket in Wave 6 would be the #22 ShellShock Batteries machine of Kevin Daniels for Hampton Island Racing which was first on the production run to ensure availability track side during the ShellShock Batteries 400 Race Weekend at the Marquette Raceway, the #69 Jebslunder Motorworken machine of Sofia Kerman which was produced with Tropicorp Racing Supply tires for efficiencies in production even though Kerman has at times changed suppliers during the season, and the #88 Tropicorp Dart of Team Tropicorp's rookie driver Anavella Ariiki.

Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400, Kardashia Autoring, Saint Kanye :: After sneaking in to the Top 8 thanks to a Top 5 finish at the Li River Speedway in the Guangxi Territory, River 'Shark' Suzgar II and the entire Vilita and Turori Motorsports team were on form as the NSSCRA circuit invaded Saint Kanye for the first ever Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 at the newly built Kardashia Autoring. While the Kanyeans would have loved to have taken home the inagural victory at their new shrine to motorsports, the new facility may have actually served a detriment to the team which had little advantage compared with the field in familiarity with the track. River 'Shark' Suzgar II and teammate Centur Tiones in the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart took an early jump on the field and were joined by Dinggu Wang, Kai Qiang and another Vilita and Turori motorsports driver, Yraaga Gilli'i. It was clear at times that the IRACT Top 3 and Vilita and Turori Motorsports had made the most gains at the track throughout the practice sessions and their setups translated well to the race as drivers from the two teams traded the lead throughout the race - rarely relinquishing the top spot outside of themselves except briefly to the Valkyrie Gwen Tracer Allison. When the checkered flag fell it was the soon-to-be newlywed Kai Qiang taking home the checkered flag just ahead of Suzgar. While the driver of the #14 Vilitan Tourism Dart would surely have been pleased with the effort they will certainly be ruing a missed opportunity to secure a place in the Championship Four with such a good car all race long. To make matters worse, it was another Round of 8 Chase Driver taking the checkered flag in Qiang meaning just three spots remain up for grabs among seven drivers for the Championship Finale at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds in Newmanistan.

The Valentians – Qualifications @ Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 @ Kardashia Autoring, Kardashia, Saint Kanye

It was yet another day for the Valentians as they landed at the airport in Kardashia. Jolyn and Gwen managed to talk to Jared, along with Marcus, regarding their idea of turning Marcus’ trailer into a bedroom for the entire duration of the race.

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: I mean well, I’m fine with that. I’m just glad that I managed to get a race for a single race, but I already know that I am not going to be a reoccurring driver.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Ahh, technically, you were in two races. Just that you didn’t get qualified for the second race. Valkyrie Run was guaranteed because we are the host nation!

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: Yeah, well, that’s true. So yeah, don’t worry, I seriously do not mind this proposal. We could always leave my car in the cargo plane, no?

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: Yup! So Jared, what do you say?

Jared Kev Jensen Benedict Angus: I’m fine with that too, of course. I mean, if Marcus is fine, I am fine as well. But… this might take some time, because you know, we need to fly to Valentine Z, get the mattress, and the like.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Hmm, good point! Well, I can wait! As long as Gwen stopped kicking me!

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: Oiiii!

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: I still love you, Gwen. I mean- err, as a friend, of course! Not in… you know.

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn Haha, gotcha.

After hitting the simulations and a few practice-runs, the Valentians were ready for the Qualifications for the very next day. Luckily, Gwen and Jolyn slept well that night, with neither of them having had a boxing match the previous night in their sleep. However, it would prove to be rather… problematic for Gwen.

Exuberant Superintendent T-1000/2904 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi: Not bad, I think! It could have been worse, but I did it! I got the best qualification results out of the three! I feel bad for Gwen, though! Maybe she was used to the road courses, or something.

Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимый, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna: Average. Not bad, but nothing too great either. Anything worse and I would feel bad for myself trying to overtake everyone around me. Always avoid the middles.

Chief Aviator Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Eveline Celinda Sammy Doris Wit. Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison: Ugggh, that went poorly! So very, very poorly! I don’t know what the actual hell happened, but yeah, I feel bad for myself. Still… qualifications aren’t everything, right? I mean, maybe there is something that I can spin out of this!

The Valentians – Actual Race @ Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 @ Kardashia Autoring, Kardashia, Saint Kanye

The previous night, Gwen and Jolyn slept well once again. Jolyn took a turn and slept in the trailer, which was decked with the standard living room décor and a single Valentian-sized bed after a single trip to-and-from Valentine Z. It was rather comfortable, and with the portable air-conditioner put inside, Jolyn slept soundly.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: I feel like a new woman! Good sleep for myself yesterday, haha!

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: I’m glad that it worked out well for both of us! Well, all the best!

The Valentians made their way to the vehicles, and the announcer blared out the usual announcement, the drivers drove, and they roared into action!

Exuberant Superintendent T-1000/2904 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi: Hm hm, well, this is seriously something for me! I have never seen such a fluctuation for my race this much before, you know? One point I’m doing great at Top 10, then another segment I went back down to 10-20. I… I don’t know what happened. I know I did rather well with my timing, but I suppose that the other racers are much better than me. Still, I didn’t exactly mind! I am so happy that my friend Gwen got this by the bag, and we are going to celebrate this with a huge party! It’s been a while, you know?

Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимый, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna: It’s… average. I did well for the first segment, but that’s it. Clarissa and I hit each other by accident by the end of the 3rd segment, but we managed to reconcile from that and got back a few of our positions once again. Though, unfortunately? It didn’t really help too much. I ended up, hit a few cars along the way with minor accidents, and among many other things. One thing is for sure, though. Once you get stuck in the middle, you have to pull some spectacular move or you will never ever get it back, because of all the cars blocking you. Still, no problem! Gwen won, and I am glad for her, just like what Clarissa said! I wish and hope that she would win a race, though. So many frustrating close calls for her!

Chief Aviator Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Eveline Celinda Sammy Doris Wit. Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison: Ahh, woo-hoo! Now THIS is the moment that I have been waiting for! I did something excellent, and it was not just the qualifications! Anyway, my qualifications were awful, that was already enough said. However, by some miracle, I simple sped through the entire track like I normally would, and it worked! I snaked around the track, and I was pretty confident with myself, and voila, I finally done it! I was in 1st for the 4th segment, then I got a little too overconfident; I sped too much and hit a wall, which slowed me down enough to throw me back to 22nd. But no no… this is Gwen’s fooking moment! And I told myself that I will get a victory, or a podium for this one! I never told it to anyone, so yeah, there is that. Anyway, I never told anyway that I wanted to win this one, but I did it… partially. Scored 3rd at the end, and here comessss the podium!

Gwen crawled out of her car in the end and jumped around, with the cameras and reporters all fighting and shoving one another in order to get a great shot of her. And Gwen was embracing the small victory, the second one that she got since Northwestern Bank of Carolina 400, whereby she finished 2nd for the race. She was then led to the podium by a bunch of NSSCRA officials, all of them being dwarfed by her massive height, and Gwen herself sticking out amongst the group of people. Stepping onto the podium along with the other two winners, she congratulated Qiang and River, waving at them and smiling. They took a group photo later, with Gwen once again being too big.

The Valentians – After Race @ Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 @ Kardashia Autoring, Kardashia, Saint Kanye

Clarissa, Jolyn, and Gwen met up with the rest of the Valentians yet again, all of them having a small little celebration in the lounge.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Congratulations to our friend yet again – Gwen Tracer Allison! Congratulations!

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: Hopefully one day I will win a race one day!

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: That is true. Ahh, Gwen. You did great for qualifications, but you need to work on the actual race.

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: I will totally work on that one day! For now, drinks on me, my friends!

Not being an excessive spendthrift, she still has a lot of money from the Pole Position that she won from Hapilopper. That was in combination with Gwen not having a lot to spend on, for the most parts. She was happy, drunk, and drunk-happy. She took some drunk (but decent) selfies with Clarissa, Jolyn, Marcus, and the few others. During the party, a couple of these events happened:

  • Gwen accidentally pushed Clarissa down the stairs from the 2nd to the 1st level, sending her tumbling down. She was fine with it, citing that it was just an accident, and that she was not hurt, anyway.
  • Jolyn dared Marcus for a drink showdown. Jolyn won with 38-36 shots before both of them dropped on the floor and could not be waken up for the next 3 hours. Jolyn woke up the next day without a hangover, whilst Marcus had to be babied with Germaine’s healing powers.
  • Adriana and Gwen had several arm-wrestling contests. Adriana won with 4-3, though it had to be stopped because Gwen’s arm was getting sore and was near the point of being sprained. Klarke had to inject Gwen with an adrenaline shot in order to speed up her healing.
  • 2nd Commander Carissa Beatrice Amanda Sammi Astriella C. N. Dawn “Tere Toa” Schlechter Mavis Trina Arona Harriet Bonnie Zaira Adaline Eliana Sophia Diamond Isobel Rena Jolana Natana, or Carissa Beatrice Sammi Trina Natana, one of the crew members of the Valentian team, joined in the fun with Marcus as they drew cat whiskers on Jolyn, along with writing something on her arm: “I H8 RD COURZ” (I hate road courses).

And the next day, they woke up from their hangovers (or the lack of one), and made their way back to their plane, while at the same time, congratulating the hosts of Saint Kanye, for being so hospitable.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Did you remember anything from the previous night?

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: I don’t think I do. Yeah, I don’t. It was… ugh, what a hangover.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Haha, never accept a dare from me to drink, Marcus. You out of all people should know that!

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: Heh, would be the last time I made this mistake. So… where are we going?

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: To Jebslund with… ugh, road course again.

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: Ahh, ahh… haha, good luck to you, Jolyn! I guess they really are pumping these road courses, eh?

Kai Qiang didn't really want to get pelted with water balloons, but after Rinzi had gone to the trouble of submitting a petition and getting it accepted it was hard to say no. He agreed that the first ten people who signed up for $10 could throw water balloons at him and he'd give the money to a soup kitchen, but only if Rinzi agreed to do the same thing. Rinzi was a total pansy, squealing at every splash of water.

Qiang was more stoical about the water balloons, but he was VERY jet-lagged after going back to Nanjing for a couple days between races. Between the water balloons at the jet-lag, he wasn't at his best. He took a nap immediately before qualifying to try to sleep off some of the jetlag, but it wasn't really enough. This was why he didn't try to fly home between races every week, because the Sherpa Empire was just too far from most of the other countries that were into motorsports and the benefit of a good night's sleep in his own bed was undone by the stress of the long flights. So Qiang wasn't very good in qualifying, but he was hoping he would do better at the race tomorrow, since he would be more well-rested. The intense pressure of "do or die" was off because he'd won in Kardashia, but he still wanted to stay sharp and not embarrass himself here in Friedlichsheim.

Despite all Rinzi's wailing and squealing about the water balloons, he was mostly in good spirits. He wasn't jet-lagged like Qiang and he was much faster in qualifying, earning himself a spot in the 3rd row of the starting grid. Of course, he needed it a lot more than Qiang did since he wasn't yet locked into the final 4 that would race for the championship at the season finale.

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund
Race weekend
Things had started to take shape with Team Blue. Ken Henson was seriously considering Amanda McAlister’s offer to step aside, to the point that a decision was likely to come that weekend. A decision on a third driver for next season was likely to come in the next week or two, and the tensions were starting to subside, but they were still there. Drake Stevenson had chosen not to make the trip to Jebslund, deciding he needed a weekend away from racing of any form, and instead spent that weekend back home catching up with old friends from grade school. Chet Byrd, now retired, had thought about making the trip too, but decided the time just wasn’t right yet. Of the Team Blue Four, only Chris Holmes and Frank Bronson were in Jebslund, and they had just decided to focus on the matter at hand.

There were no pranks this weekend, nothing silly that would have gotten people rolling their eyes at the Hapiloppians like they had typically done. Instead, Chris and Frank decided to have as low a profile as humanly possible. Just keep their heads down, work their asses off and go for victory. It seemed a little uncharacteristic of Team Blue to not do something stupid leading up to the race, but there had to have been a reason for it.

Maybe it was the fact that the third car was being driven by a non-Hapiloppian. Juracai Klianiota, from Vilita and Turori, had replaced Chet in the 73 car, and in the days leading up to Juracai’s Team Blue debut, Drake gave Chris and Frank strict orders concerning Juracai.

“No pranks,” Drake said sternly. “Period. There’s a rule, Hapiloppians prank Hapiloppians, and that’s it. The last thing I need is something going wrong and word gets back to iBen Toralmintii about how we’re a bunch of juvenile punks.”

With Team Blue not making headlines for their stupid behavior, they actually appeared to fly under the radar in the first part of race weekend. Few people noticed as Juracai qualified 8th, Chris qualified 11th, and Frank qualified 15th for Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke.

The only thing of note that happened for Team Blue happened after qualifying. As the Team Blue drivers and crew members were enjoying dinner in the team lounge, a small woman with the stature of an Olympic gymnast knocked on the door.

“Excuse me, ma’am, you looking for someone?” asked Ken Henson.

“Drake Stevenson,” replied the woman in a decidedly-foreign accent. “I understand he works for you guys as a consultant.”

“He’s not here this weekend, he’s visiting friends from high school in Kingsland,” Ken responded. “Apparently some foreign exchange student flew in and they’re having a great time together.”

“Pat? Wow, they were best friends,” the woman responded, to Ken’s surprise. “Can you leave him a message?”

“I can call him, you two can talk or some shit like that.”

A condominium overlooking Kingsland Beach, Hapilopper
The same time
Unfortunately, the best way to describe Drake Stevenson at this point was “positively shitfaced.” Drake and his friends had tipped the bottle a little too much playing video games in this beachfront condo, and the group of six were, well, enjoying themselves. That’s when his phone rang. The caller ID read “KEN HENSON – TEAM BLUE.”

Drake, who was taking a break from playing the games, picked up the phone, thinking it would be a great opportunity to drunkenly tell Ken off before Ken went off into the sunset.

“Yeah?” Drake drunkenly roared over the phone.

“Drake!”

He knew that voice. He missed that voice. It wasn’t Ken. It was someone else, someone from his past. Someone he missed.

“…Gabriela? Where are you?”

“I’m in Jebslund,” she responded. “I figured you’d be here since you’re at practically every single race with the team. Ken told me you took the weekend off and went to Kingsland. Is everything OK? You never took time off.”

“Yeah, I had a friend come in from elsewhere in the region, and…”

“Pat? Is he there?”

“Yeah, he’s slam-bang drunk right now, shouting something about going for three or something,” Drake responded. “Matter of fact, I think we all are. Do you live in Jebslund?”

“No,” she responded. “I flew in to see you. I miss you and I wanted to see if you and I could hang out.”

Drake sat there for a very long time, trying to come up with the right words to say. He had been had by poor timing. It had been a long time – over a decade, to be exact, since the two had split up right after high school ended, but the two still harbored some strong feelings for each other. It was evident when Drake had a picture of her in his car during the Super Skychief 500. It was evident when the two talked to each other right after, but she had moved back to her home country and any idea of the two getting back together was unrealistic, to be kind.

“What are you doing next weekend?” Drake asked.

“I don’t know,” Gabriela replied. “Are you going to be with Team Blue?”

“Yeah. I hope you can come to Vangaziland. I miss you too.”

The two said their goodbyes and Drake hung up the phone. Where he had been a wildly happy mood beforehand, Drake actually felt a little melancholy now. For a long time, he just sat at the table and stared off into space as his friends whooped it up with the video games.

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund :: The entire Vilita and Turori Motorsports team had circled the penultimate race of the Round of 8 on their calendars as an event they felt they could step up, claim a checkered flag and put themselves into position to win a championship as a result. Of course, no driver was more anticipating the event in Jebslund than Centur Tiones who would return to Die Landschaftlich Schone Strecke as the defending race winner in the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart. Unfortunately for Tiones however, they had already been eliminated from the NSSCRA Chase Playoffs at the end of the Round of 12 so even if they were able to reproduce their success at the Jeblunder Road Course again during NSSCRA Season 8 it would only serve to get them exactly what it got them one season ago: A Race Victory. There would be no spot in the Championship 4 for Tiones and no opportunity to run for the NSSCRA title if the driver of the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart could repeat their success from just one season prior. On the otherhand, however, two of Vilita and Turori Motorsports drivers were still alive in the NSSCRA Playoff Chase, River 'Shark' Suzgar II who would pilot the #14 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart in Jebslund and Yraaga Gilli'i the driver of the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart.

#2 Centur Tiones is the defending race winner in Friedlichesheim
With River 'Shark' Suzgar having finished in the runner-up position at the newly opened Kardashia Autoring facility during the opening race of the Round of 8, it would seem that of the Vilita and Turori Motorsports drivers, Yraaga Gilli'i has the most work to do in order to clinch a place in the Championship Four for the second season running. Luckily for Gilli'i, the next two races on the NSSCRA Calendar are two of the best for the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart team. In four all time races at tracks in Jebslund, Yraaga Gilli'i has Finishes of 2nd, 3rd and 10th in addition to having won the Pole Position for the Kermania Fortress Run earlier this season at the Kermania Citadel. Gilli'i will roll off the grid from 7th position at Die Landschaflich Schone Strecke as they look to complete the career podium in Jebslund by scoring a victory to go with previous 2nd and 3rd place finishes in country. It could come down to a battle between Yraaga Gilli'i and River 'Shark' Suzgar II for the final spot in the Championship Four if neither driver can manage to win one of the final two events. Considering that Gilli'i finished in podium placement at Die Landschaftlich Schone Strecke during NSSCRA Season 7 and has never finished outside the Top 5 at the Imperial Speedway in South Stead, Vangaziland, it would seem that Gilli'i -who also led all drivers with three wins during the NSSCRA Season 8 Regular Season, would be the most likely of the two to pick up a victory in the Round of 8 to guarantee a place in the Championship four leaving Suzgar to fight for the final spot in on points. It is Suzgar, however, who has the upper hand from the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award session in Jebslund having qualified in 3rd position and will start the race directly behind Vilaye Enery Drink Pole Award winner Jeremiah Brooke of Saint Kanye.

Brooke, driver of the #18 Hyde Medical Group Chadwick, is looking to complete a comeback story by advancing to the Championship Four just one season after being sidelined due to injuries sustained in an on-track accident. Brooke may need to rely on others misfortune to get their however as they struggled along with the entire Glorious Free Republic Motorsports team in Kardashia. Stacie Houston will roll off the grid from the 13th position as she looks to become the first NSSCRA Champion to actually advance to the Championship Four and have an opportunity to defend their title on the final day of the season.

There will, however, be a number of potential spoilers in the field looking to steal a victory from the Playoff Chase drivers and there won't be any more likely candidate than Centur Tiones who is the only driver to be able to have visited NSSCRA victory lane at both Die Landschaflich Schone Strecke and at the Imperial Speedway in Vagaziland. Tiones won in Jebslund one season prior and will look to become the second driver to succesfully defend a race victory for two consecutive season on the NSSCRA circuit. Even if the Tiones Lumber Dart does not cross the line first in Jebslund, Tiones will likely be favored once more as the NSSCRA field heads to the short track in Vangaziland to close out the Round of 8. Tiones has played spoiler in every season of their NSSCRA career thus far having won a Chase event as a non-playoff driver during both NSSCRA Season 6 and NSSCRA Season 7.

It won't be just the established drivers looking to make their mark, however. NSSCRA rookie Gwen Tracer Allison has been fast in practice in Jebslund and will pilot the #31 Valkyrie Motorsports machine from the outside pole position just one week after an impressive performance in Saint Kanye. Tropicorp's rookie driver Anavella Ariiki has thus far shaken off rumors that her performances thus far have her on the brink of replacement and will look to quash those rumors permanently if they can become the first non-Cocoabo driver to take hom a checkered flag for Team Tropicorp. Ariiki has posted yet another strong qualifying performance with. The #88 Tropicorp Dart will roll off along side River 'Shark' Suzgar II from the 4th position in what will be the fifteenth consecutive race where Ariiki has qualified inside the Top 20 to lead all drivers. Unfortunately Ariiki has just a single Top 10 finish in that stretch something she will look to rectify in Jebslund.

A pair of drivers from Team Blue will also be looking to make an impression after some recent changes at the Hapilopper based team. In their first top level professional race since the 16th World Grand Prix Championship season and their first top level professional Stock Car start since NSSCRA Season 5, Juracai Klianiota had an up and down day in Saint Kanye but has once again shown both they and the Team Blue Skychief's are up to the task with a Top 10 qualifying efort. Klianiota will likely be looking to the twists and turns in Jebslund as a calming force to keep them focused on the task at hand to come home with a competitive finish. Klianiota's teammate Frank Bronson will also be looking to make a positive impression as Team Blue have taken the bold step of changing their car number mid-season as they look to make a marketing shift away from the 3/7 combination and onto the 8's with Bronson making the switch from number 37 to number 8. The switch has caught some Team Blue and Bronson fans off guard but the Team believes making the switch now will help make the transition to the #8 more seamless when the circuit kicks off again with the Tundra Falls Speedway during NSSCRA Season 9. With the distractions caused by the sudden retirement of Chet Byrd and the elimination of all Team Blue drivers from Playoff contention, Team Blue officials decided 'Why not Now?" when making the number switch although there are still those who believe that Team Blue may have been influenced by NSSCRA Pole Award sponsor Vilaye Energy Drink who may be looking to use the car number 37 for an appearance by Jama'obo Pegasii to use the open charter slot in Vangaziland.
Image

Vilita and Turori Motorsports were left unimpressed with the results of Arcticala Electrical backed driver Lotara Novorali during her handful of NSSCRA starts and Novorali was unable to secure enough sponsorship to fund an appearance at the circuits last remaining short track on the Season 8 schedule. Novorali will retain her rookie status having appeared in five or fewer events during the NSSCRA 8 season while Vilita and Turori Motorsports will be able to turn to the Vilisorma Beverage Company to foot the bill for the extra car for the weekend with the CoCoCo funding looking to have found a permanent home with Rockii Ezis in Newmanistan. While Ezis continues to search for their first career NSSCRA victory, the #48 CoCoCo Dart team rebounded positively after suffering their first DNF of the season in The Sherpa Empire with a top ten finish at the Kardashia Autoring. As for the Vilisorma Beverage Company, they have reportedly expressed a desire to extend their sponsorship of the NSSCRA Pole Award as well as looking at ways to expand the Pole Award program for NSSCRA Season 9. Having introduced the Vilaye Energy Drink Clash for pole award winners during NSSCRA Season 8, the Vilisorma Beverage Company has discussed the creation of a Pole Award incentive program whereby a financial bonus would be added to the race winning purse if that driver was also the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award winner for the race. If accepted the program would start in Tundra Falls where if the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award winner also won the race they would get a bonus of Ŧ14,000 added to their purse. However, if the pole award winner does not win the race, the prize money would roll over to the next event making the available bonus double to Ŧ28,000. The process would repeat itself until such a point when a Pole Winner finally claims the prize. At that point, the available prize for the next round would reset back to Ŧ14,000.

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund :: Despite having won 25 of 29 events contested on the NSSCRA calendar this season, Tropicorp Racing Supply and the widely popular Sifaka Tire brand face an unexpected battle just to get representation among the Championship Four drivers competing for the series title at the Tundra Falls Proving Ground. Kai Qiang's victory in the #44 Highland Tire supplied TMW at the Kardashia Autoring set up a scenario whereby it is possible that just two of the four Championship Four drivers will be using Tropicorp's Sifaka brand tire in the Proving Grounds 500. With Qiang already assured a spot in the Championship Four, the remaining seven round of 8 drivers will be competing for the final three spots with the inevitible rookie of the season #06 Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal also donning the Highland Tire. While Qiang has likely been considered among the championships favorites all season long regardless of the Tire compound the driver of the #44 was using, Zakhilwal's rise to stardom has been far more swift than anyone would have predicted. The Automodi driver cycled through multiple sponsorships during the Regular Season before landing deals with CoCoCo and Mayhem Products, the latter of which has stepped into the primary sponsor role of the #06 for the Sherpalander driver in the playoffs. While Tropicorp Racing Supply can not do much to influence the outcome of the title chase, they are reportedly considering funding an additional race for Team Tropicorp simulator developer Euroli Islander to pilot the Tropicorp Sifaka special once more. Islander, who competed for Team Tropicorp during NSSCRA Season 7, has made one start on the circuit this season with that coming during the Tropicorp 500 where Islander piloted a specially painted Tropicorp Sifaka branded Dart to promote Tropicorp Racing Supply's NSSCRA tire offering. With the odds of Tropicorp Racing Supply missing out on the NSSCRA title having greatly increased when the checkered flag fell at the Kardashia Autoring, the tire supplier is reportedly hedging their bets by funding Team Tropicorp's preparation of a fourth primary car for the Proving Grounds 500 in the event they can satisfy the paperwork to get Islander's #42 Sifaka Dart into the field. Euroli Islander famously finished in 3rd position at the Pencurve Electronics 500 during NSSCRA Season 7 and Tropicorp Racing Supply are hoping that perhaps having an additional skilled super speedway driver in the field could increase the chances of seeing a Tropicorp Racing Supply branded car in victory lane even if a Highland Tires driver ends up winning the championship on the same day.

In two starts at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Euroli Islander has never finished better or worse than 29th position but Tropicorp will be hoping should the #42 make the start in the NSSCRA Season 8 Finale that they will see a little more of Islanders performance at the Pencurve than their historical record in Newmanistan. Team Tropicorp will also be hoping that Islanders presence would allow a natural drafting partner for their own rookie driver Anavella Ariiki who has struggled to secure solid race finishes despite being the most natural and steady qualifiers in the field. Over the first 27 rounds of the NSSCRA Season both Cocoabo #28 and Cocoabo #78 have consistently averaged approximately a starting position of 15th and a finish of approximately 15th. Anavella Ariiki however has averaged a finish of just 26th in the same period and will certainly take whatever help she can get as she tries to prove she deserves a second season behind the wheel of the #88 Tropicorp sponsored Dart. Team Tropicorp have never placed a driver inside the Top 20 at any of the three remaining circuits on the NSSCRA Schedule but are hoping a late season boost in form continues and the team can take much needed momentum and confidence with them into the offseason.

NSSCRA: POLESITTER BROOKE AIMS TO KEEP C'SHIP HOPES ALIVE
Yeezies expect no easy path to PG500

by Hastur Barreras

FRIEDLICHESHEIM - The performance of Kanyean NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association) team Glorious Free Republic Motorsports in last week's Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 left a lot to be desired. None of the team's three Chase-bound drivers made it to the top ten at home, and two of them even fell under the cut line for the Championship Four. Skip Stiller, the only Kanyean currently in the top four, said "It won't be easy, but we'll still do our best. In fact, we'll be trying even harder since the way we stumbled in the last race meant that we have a significant deficit to overcome. It's like in other sports. The trailing team would be putting up much effort to come back. However, the leading team would not allow their opponents to recover. So we gotta prepare for the other Chasers aiming to stay on top, too."

Stiller qualified his #3 Chadwick in fourteenth at this week's race in Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, while teammate Thea Alvarez was further down the field at twenty-sixth. Said the driver of the #46 car, "I think I was getting a little distracted. The pressure's been building up. I really need to get my head back in the game though, and just focus on running the remaining races well." Meanwhile, Jeremiah Brooke, the third Yeezie Chaser, was all fired up, as he drove his #18 machine to the pole position on the Jebslunden road course. "I refuse to let the results of the last race bring me down", said Brooke. "There's still hope to climb back and race for a title at the Proving Grounds [500, in Newmanistan]. Anything can happen. But we can't just rely on anything random to happen, we gotta put in our work too. I've been practicing more, hitting the simulator more, going over the setups with my team more, praying more, even."

This race will see the first appearance of local driver Wilhelm Kerman this season, taking Vanda Rosa Cordeiro Kerman's place in the #1 car. Wilhelm was one of Jebslund's full-time drivers last season, before Jebslunder Motorenworken signed Hampton Islander Lexi Patterson and gave her his charter instead. Interestingly, the other open charter spot is also held by a former full-timer, in this case Newmanistan's Ashley Matthews. Her former #24 Rocket is now occupied by Kevin Daniels, and she now drives the #59.

Frank Bronson, of Hapilopper's Team Blue, will be having a different number for this race. His former #37 will be replaced by #8, which was traditionally used by his team back at home in HASCAR. The number became available after its former user, the team from the Communist Union of B, ceased operations not even halfway into the current NSSCRA season. It remains to be seen if the change will continue until the future seasons of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Kanyean men's care company Mayhem is still awaiting a reply from Sherpa driver and recently-crowned Rookie of the Year Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal. The company is offering to extend its sponsorship on Zakhilwal's #06 AutoModi into the next NSSCRA season and possibly beyond, as well as also offer to be in his car in IRACT, the Sherpa local series. Mayhem said that they were hoping to reach a favorable conclusion in this deal, though they will be looking at alternatives in case the deal doesn't fall through.

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.

Of the twenty people that Qiang and Zakhilwal (ten for each driver) charged NS$10 to throw water balloons at, five were Kanyean. Zakhilwal's throwers included a graphic artist from Bawlmer, an investment banker from Claxton and a housewife from Jalton. Throwing at Qiang were a programmer from Lincolnton and .... an NSSCRA driver, #46, from Kardashia.

At the drivers' meeting before the race, Brooke overheard a conversation by the Valentians concerning their fear of road courses. "Hey, I used to do poorly in road courses too, back at home. But when I got called up to NSSCRA, I practiced hard, so I won't embarrass myself. That's the key, practice. Not just on the track, there are simulators too. Hope that helps, and good luck to you girls."

PROVING GROUNDS ANNOUNCEMENT

With the championship race at the Proving Grounds rapidly approaching, the track made an announcement concerning open charter use:

The first charter will be used by Ashley Matthews, in the #59.

The second charter will have a mass qualifying effort to determine who wins it. To be eligible a driver has to have attempted to qualify for any of the races up to this point. Any driver that meets that basic criteria is eligible. There are no limits to the amount of drivers a nation can send as long as they meet this one basic criteria. Nations should declare their drivers in RP, or in the discussion thread. If a number change is required, please declare that as well.

Kai Qiang was on a roll, making the podium in 4 of the last 5 races.

At Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Cocoabo #28 and Stacie Houston got in front of him by timing their pit stops more fortuitously. Despite turning some very fast laps late in the race, he wasn't able to catch them and he had to settle for 3rd. Being the only man on the podium, he felt it was his duty to open a bottle of champagne for Cocoabo #28 to help the bird celebrate her win. He imagined that having wings instead of hands would make it difficult to open bottles. Sometimes he wondered how the cocoabos could drive as well as they did, having wings instead of hands.

Whether it was a good idea to give a cocoabo champagne... Well, he'd find out soon enough.

Rinzi Zakhilwal had finished 14th, barely hanging onto 4th place in the Chase standings. Yraaga Gilli'i and the three Kanyean Chasers were all clustered within a few points behind Zakhilwal, where any of them could be a threat if they did well at South Stead. "The pressure is definitely on," Zakhilwal said in a post-race interview. "I need to be finishing higher than 14th. It's going to be all business next week, no nonsense."

When he returned to his room after the race, Zakhilwal had the feeling there was something he had forgotten to do, but he couldn't think what it was. He took off his shoes as soon as he entered the room to avoid tracking in dirt, and left them by the door, as was the custom in the Sherpa Empire. He made some tea, watched some TV, munched on some pastries that he'd bought around town. He still couldn't remember what it was that he'd meant to do this weekend other than racing. He went into the bathroom for water to clean himself before his evening prayers, and immediately said, "Oh, that's what I was going to do!" The bottle of Mayhem shower gel sitting on the bathroom counter had reminded him that he needed to talk to them about sponsorship for next season. He poked his head out into the room to see how dark the sky was and decided there was enough time to dash off a quick message and still get to his prayer in an acceptable timeframe. (The prayer was meant to be done before full dark.)

He wrote to Mayhem that he was interested in a sponsorship for next season, but he'd been a little distracted, and he still needed time to go over the details. He hit "send" and then tried his hardest to clear the whole thing out of his head so he say his prayer without any worldly distractions clouding his mind.

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund :: Anavella Ariiki had been having a strong run all race long at Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, adapting well to the unique course in Friedlichesheim and staying inside the Top 10 for much of the race after a fourth place qualifying run. However, Ariiki didn't seem to have anything to compete with Sherpalander driver #44 Kai Qiang or Saint Kanye's Jeremiah Brooke who had been the class of the field in the second half of the race after early strong performances from Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver River 'Shark' Suzgar II and Yraaga Gilli'i seemed to go by the wayside. While Ariiki and Team Tropicorp would have certainly been thrilled to plug away and collect a Top Ten finish, they also knew that they were no longer in it for the points. Ariiki wasn't going to win the Rookie of the Year and none of Team Tropicorp's drivers would finish in the Top 16 in the season ending point standings. While a Top 10 finish might be a short term confidence boost it wouldn't be remembered too far beyond the conclusion of this race weekend. As a result, Team Tropicorp decided to shake up their strategy and brought Ariiki into the pits right at the start of her final pit window. They knew the decision could cost her as the tires wore down at the end of the race but the hope was that she would come back onto the track with space to turn fast laps on new tires and perhaps make up some time on the race leader Kai Qiang. As Ariiki brought the #88 Tropicorp Dart down pit road, only her teammate Cocoabo #28 followed suit. The two Team Tropicorp drivers completed their service and got back on the track ready to turn hot laps to make up ground on the lead cars. While their early stops did cause some chatter on the leaders radios, most teams did not consider Team Tropicorps two junior drivers as threats to the lead and did not react to their pit stop. One lap later, when it became clear the duo were gaining seconds per lap on their new tires, a handful of other drivers dove down pit lane but only Stacie Houston and Chris Holmes dropped down among the Top 10. Just as the field passed the start finish line the full course yellow flag came out. It caught a few drivers out as the pits immediately closed to those who were not already receive=ing service, including Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver Yraaga Gilli'i who had already committed to the pits and had to dive across a strip of grass to get back on the track without incurring a commitment cone violation infraction, losing valuable positions in the process.

The yellow flag couldn't have come at a better time for Team Tropicorp's drivers Anavella Ariiki and Cocoabo #28 who had gained enough time on their fresh-tyre open track hot laps to be scored in front of the drivers who had made their pit stops and when the rest of the field come in for their final pitstops under the yellow flag it moved Ariiki and Cocoabo #28 to the front row for the restart.

It was Anavella Ariiki the race leader for the first time all day with nothing but open track and a single tank a fuel's race length between her and a first career NSSCRA victory. However, the nerves in the situation may have gotten to the rookie driver who, after a decent start when the green flag waved, appeared to miss a shift coming up through the gear box bunching up the field behind her and letting Cocoabo #28 grab the advantage into Turn 1. Ariiki recovered and fought her way to the inside before losing the second position and fought hard over the next 6 laps to protect the runner-up spot from the field behind her. She would ultimately be bumped out of the way but not before Cocoabo #28 had built up a seven second advantage having completely set sail from the restart with clear track ahead of them.

From that point on it was a game of chase but Kai Qiang and Stacie Houston spent more time fighting each other for second place than working together to catch the Cocoabo in front of them. They would cut into the Cocoabo's lead but wouldn't get close enough to do anything more than admire from a distance as the #28 twii.tur/Cocoabo Preservation Society Dart crossed under the flag stand to take the checkered flag for the first time. It was the culmination of a long road back for Cocoabo #28 as many wondered if the Cocoabo's career would be over after an accident sidelined them for much of the NSSCRA Season 7 campaign. Cocoabo #28 would prove they still very much had the skill to drive throughout the NSSCRA Season 8 campaign as one of the most consistent drivers in the field, one of only a handful of drivers to have finished every single race they have started and also to have not had a single finish outside the Top 30. Now, Cocoabo #28 is a race winner and with Team Tropicorp's second win in four races, has proven that Team Tropicorp and the Cocoabo Enrichment and Enhancement Program are more than just an experimental research project but a real force to be reckoned with as they continue to gain momentum heading into the next NSSCRA campaign.

With just two races left on the schedule Team Tropicorp will continue pressing forward looking to further take advantage of the momentum they have put together toward the end of the campaign. With Anavella Ariiki posting her first top 10 finish in 14 races at Jebslund she has finally put the full package together backing up her top-class qualifying efforts with a solid race finish. Ariiki will be working closely with Team Tropicorp Simulator developer Euroli Islander to prepare her for the seasons final two events in Vangaziland and Newmanistan, with Islander themselves scheduled to participate in the festivities at Tundra Falls looking to qualify into the open charter spot in the #42 Tropicorp Sifaka Dart. There will be stiff competition with as many as 10 drivers expected to contest for what may be just one available spot in Tundra Falls unless there are any final guaranteed charter re-alignments by the sanctioning body. With Team Tropicorp already planning to send a 4th hauler to Tundra Falls for Islander's entry it is likely that they will also allow young Cocoabo Enrichment and Enhancement Project (CEEP) trainer Jixaka Motorai to compete for the spot in Islanders backup car. Motorai, who regularly drives alongside the Cocoabo at the Cocoabo Park Circuit while employed by the CEEP, has taken a keen interest in motor racing regularly making the trip over to Vilita to compete in local racing events and was rewarded earlier in the season by Team Tropicorp when she was given the opportunity to compete in the inaugural Cocoabo Preservation 300K. Motorai has never driven a super speedway before but hopes to be granted permission to compete for the open charter in Tundra Falls through the completion of a rigorous training regime set up by Euroli Islander on the Team Tropicorp simulator as well as demonstrated performance in the first rookie practice session on race weekend.

The Team Blue Shop, Hapilopper City
A day or two after Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke in Jebslund
Drake Stevenson, walking into the Team Blue shop with a nice tan and a slight hangover, did a double-take as he walked past Ken Henson’s office. There were boxes everywhere, and a lot of his personal items had been packed up already. Ken saw Drake stop at his office and gave him a filthy look – the look that indicated “you did this to me, you jerk.”

“Is there something you haven’t told us?” Drake asked.

“I’ll address it at 1:30 today,” Ken responded. “If you’ll excuse me, I’m busy.”

Drake walked past and into the meeting room, where he found Chris Holmes, Frank Bronson and Juracai Klianiota and their crew chiefs getting ready for the post-race briefing. The six individuals were conversing amongst themselves when Drake came in. While Juracai and his crew chief kept discussing the post-race matter, the other four stopped.

“We met your ex this weekend in Jebslund,” Chris said. “Apparently she came to Jebslund just to see you. What was her name, Frank? Gabriela Petershoe or something?”

Frank chuckled. “Yeah, Gabriela Petrescu. She seemed really sweet. What happened between you two?”

“I’d rather not talk about it,” Drake said. “It’s kind of a sore subject. It’s something that upsets me even to this day.”

“So, are you two…”

“I said I don’t want to talk about it!” Drake snapped with the kind of volume that got Juracai’s and his crew chief’s attention. “Look, if you really want to know the full story, just, let’s go somewhere tonight and talk about it.”

Later on that day, Ken addressed the drivers, and later the rest of the team, to practically confirm what Drake – and other members of the team – had privately suspected. Ken had accepted Amanda’s offer, but was stepping down with immediate effect, so to as to avoid any kind of lame-duck situation with the team. Ken explained that there had been two factors in his decision to step down.

1.) Marty Lewis, the director of motorsport operations for Preston Autos, privately told Ken in a meeting that they would be re-evaluating their factory support of Team Blue if Ken didn’t step down.
The revelation came a few weeks after that meeting in the Team Blue Center where Drake asked Ken to borrow some crew members and equipment for the Rumble in the Rice Fields in the Sherpa Empire. In the ensuing argument, Ken loudly disparaged different individuals, including Drake and Chris Holmes, who were both seen as Preston’s two stars of the present and the future. Marty had been there that day, and had to console Chris as he cried loudly after hearing his boss call him a “manchild.”

A few weeks later, Marty told Ken that some changes had to be made.

“We’re going to support Chris here,” Marty said. “And I’m just going to say it like this. After what I overheard you calling him, we’ll be pulling our support if you don’t step down. We’ll be looking for another team to run in the NSSCRA.”

It was quite a revelation. Team Blue had always been a Preston team, dating back to the 1950s, and part of the team’s identity was that it always ran Preston equipment with help from the factory. Without that factory support, the team was just another racing team. For Ken to allow the family business to go away from Preston Autos, well, that was too much for him. Plus, this was an opportunity to ride off into the sunset.

2.) Chet Byrd’s sudden retirement, which was, in large part, due to the infighting within the team.
In a open letter written to the whole of Team Blue, Chet pretty much explained that he couldn’t take the infighting within the team anymore. He had been there since 1986, and he couldn’t believe that the situation between Team Blue had deteriorated. It was too much for him to bear, and he put all of the blame at the feet of Ken Henson.

“There is no reason for a team owner to respond with pure enmity to someone who has done so much for this organization over the years, when they ask to borrow some equipment to possibly get another car in a field,” Chet wrote. “I am well aware that he left the team just before this year, but he did so to try to realize a lifelong dream. You can not fault someone for trying to make their dreams come true. There is also no excuse for responding with enmity towards the team’s happy-go-lucky attitude to a new challenge this season. Team Blue has long made a reputation out of being a group of fun-loving individuals who always loved to enjoy themselves at the race track. So for us to suddenly go away from that because we’re competing against other nations… what sense does that make?”

Ken thought he had always been close to Chet, but Chet’s letter hit him like a shot to the gut. While he might have been in the past, he wasn’t now, and it was clear that Ken needed to re-evaluate his priorities. Chet had a point. The team was always known for its ridiculous antics, and that was part of what made them so lovable in Hapilopper. They were always doing something stupid.

With that in mind, Ken told the whole of Team Blue that he would be stepping down, and his daughter, Amanda McAlister, would be taking over, effective immediately. It meant that the team’s turmoil had largely subsided, and Team Blue could, hopefully, get back to being one big happy family. There, of course, was the matter of Amanda dating Chris Holmes, but that would play out as time went on.

Andrew’s Pub, Hapilopper City
That evening
After the announcement, Drake called Chet and told him about what had happened. Chet could only respond with sadness. He had some issues with Ken in the past, but the fact was, Chet had known Ken for decades, and to see him leave the team like that was actually quite sad.

The two agreed to meet at Andrew’s Pub with Frank and Chris, who was convinced to not bring along his girlfriend. This would be a “Team Blue Four-only meeting” and the four would discuss what had happened lately. Beers were enjoyed liberally, and the four touched on a variety of topics, including what had happened with Team Blue, as well as something they had seen on TV recently – a televised simulation called “N-Day,” which displayed Hapilopper getting blown off the map with nuclear weapons by a group of ruthless adversaries. After the four agreed that they were disgusted with the program, the four discussed the idea of bringing Chet back for one last race.

“Newmanistan is inviting anyone who’s attempted to qualify for the last race,” Drake said. “I’m going to try to convince Amanda to let me drive a car there. Chet, you want to try it too?”

“Uh, can I get back to you on that?” Chet responded. “I don’t think…”

“One last shot,” Drake said. “One last chance for the band to get back together. All four of us.”

“What, y’all don’t get along with Juracai?”

“It’s not that,” Drake explained. “It’s the fact that, well, he’s not Chet Byrd. He’s not you. Nice guy and shit, great driver, but, you know?”

“I hear you,” Chet replied. “Let me give you an answer by the end of next weekend.”

“Next weekend’s the next-to-last race of the season,” Chris Holmes replied. “We kinda got to get an answer quicker than that. Amanda wants an answer from you pretty quickly.”

“Well… shit,” Chet replied quietly. “I’ll let y’all know by the time you leave for the next race.”

If Chet were to say yes, he would likely drive a car numbered either 72 or 07. It wasn’t exactly known yet at that point. The topic quickly changed, and Frank wanted an answer he didn’t get earlier that day.

“Stevenson, you know, you never exactly explained what happened between you and Gabriela,” Frank said. “You were pretty hush-hush about it.”

“Well…” Drake started, his voice getting quiet with sad reflection. “It started right before I graduated from high school. We were in love with each other, and then…”

Drake was about to tell his story when someone, wearing elf ears for some reason, overdid it and blew chunks all over the floor of Andrew’s Pub. The disturbance, as well as the obvious foul stench, took everyone’s mind off whatever they were thinking of, and Drake lost his train of thought in a pretty huge way. Never mind any idea of telling some story of love lost, some dipshit elf just blew chunks all over the hardwood floor and had to be forcibly evacuated from the pub.

The four forgot whatever they were asking for, walked out for a second as the smell was too strong for them in the pub and then just went on to whatever else.

Yraaga Gilli'i :: #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart

#41 Yraaga Gilli'i and #14 River 'Shark' Suzgar fight for position late in the race
Image
Gilli'i & Suzgar were a step behind Kai Qiang and Stacie Houston in Jebslund

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund :: It was a disappointing result at Jebslund for Vilita and Turori Motorsports two remaining Playoff Chase drivers River 'Shark' Suzgar II and Yraaga Gilli'i particularly when compared with how well the duo had run earlier in the event. Both drivers started the event inside the top 10 and worked their way to the front of the field with Gilli'i, who had finished third at the same track one season ago, powering the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart past the pole sitter Jeremiah Brooke and into the lead. Gilli'i would hold the lead for a handful of laps before being overtaken by the faster car of teammate River 'Shark' Suzgar II. An incident between Andrew Holden and Ben Carpenter coming over the hill really changed the course of the race for a number of drivers, however, including the Vilita and Turori Motorsports duo. The pit strategies employed during the Yellow Flag for the Holden-Carpenter incident would eventually play a role in determining the outcome of the race later on as a number set up a different approach to the race which would benefit them at the expense of drivers like Gilli'i and Suzgar. A handful of drivers had already come down pit road before a late race yellow flag just before the leaders were scheduled to make their final stop. It put Suzgar and Gilli'i just outside the Top 10 for the restart instead of near the Top 5 where they had been running. On the restart, Gilli'i got punched out of the groove in the first turn by the #15 of Jolyn Helen Ceeta who themselves had been bumped from behind by another car. While River 'Shark' Suzgar crossed the line 11th just behind teammate Centur Tiones, the defending Race winner in the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart who barely held on to a Top 10 finish, The #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart fell all the way back to the 20th position and could only fight back up through to 16th behind a duo of Chase Drivers in Skip Stiller, Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal and who fought tooth and nail for every point.

If Yraaga Gilli'i is unable to take home the checkered flag in Vangaziland, the NSSCRA Season 8 campaign will certainly be looked back upon in disappointment as it has actually been a bit of a rough season for Yraaga Gilli'i and the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart team. As the championship runner-up during NSSCRA Season 7 in a campaign where Gilli'i led or tied all Vilita and Turori Motorsports drivers in all categories with 2 wins, 9 Top fives and 15 Top Ten finishes over the 23 race season; it appeared Gilli'i was primed to compete for the title as they led all drivers with three victories during the Regular Season. However, the consistency that defined Gilli'i's Season seven title run has been lost along the way as the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart seemed to sacrifice two Top 10 finishes for every victory they achieved. Gilli'i has just two Top 10 finishes over the eight Chase races and finds themselves four points below the cut line heading into the Gryphon Supermarkets 250. While Gilli'i has set a career high with three race victories during the season they are well off the mark of Top five and Top 10 finishes they had set just one season ago despite the season having been expanded from 23 to 30 events. Despite starting inside the Top Ten at both the Kardashia Autring and Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Gilli'i hasn't yet posted a Top 10 in the Round of 8 and will certainly need to do so if they will have any hope of avenging their narrow Championship defeat one season ago at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds. Of course, the schedule is set up nicely for some last gasp heroics from the #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart team as the circuit descends on the Imperial Speedway in Vangaziland. Gilli'i had two short track victories during NSSCRA Season 7 and picked up a third Short Track victory during the NSSCRA Season 8 Regular Season by defending their race win at the Lonngeylin Ring. While Gilli'i has just two Top 10 finishes in the eight Chase Playoff races this season, both of those Top 10 finishes have come at the two short track races. By contrast, Gilli'i's teammate River 'Shark' Suzgar II who leads all drivers on points in the Round of 8 behind Kai Qiang who has already secured a spot in the Championship 4, has never posted a Top 10 finish at the Imperial Speedway finishing 19th during NSSCRA Season 6 and 12th during NSSCRA Season 7. Suzgar enters the Gryphon Supermarkets 250 Race Weekend with a 13 point advantage over 5th placed Thea Alvarez but perhaps more importantly 12 points over 4th placed Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal. As such, if Suzgar can post a first career Top 10 finish in Vangaziland they should be able to secure a place in the Championship Four regardless of the results of the other Chase Drivers and the only driver in the Chase field who is likely to focus more on putting together a consistent, solid race rather than going all in for the Victory.

#2 Centur Tiones ran a consistent Top 10 race at Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke
Image
The Field couldn't catch the Team Tropicorp Drivers after a late restart
Image
----------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------------
ImageImage

Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund :: While Centur Tiones hopes of winning the NSSCRA Championship had ended with the drop of the checkered flag at the Li River Speedway in the Sherpa Empire, there was still plenty for the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart team to be excited about as they were coming up on a stretch of races which they had visited victory lane at in the previous two NSSCRA seasons. Coming into the events at Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke as the defending race champion, Tiones and the team were a step behind all weekend long when compared with their two teammates still in the Chase. While Suzgar and Gilli'i had exchanged turns at the front of the field, Tiones never ran inside the Top 5 but maintained a solid footing around the 10th position all race long until the finish.

While Tiones has already extended their winning streak to three seasons with one win each during each of the past three NSSCRA Campaigns, there are just two races left in the season for Tiones to claim a second victory and extend their role as Round of 8 spoiler if they can reprise their victory from NSSCRA Season 6 at the Imperial Speedway in Vangziland. Tiones has always specialized in the slower, tighter tracks such as Short Tracks and Road Courses so of the final two events on the schedule it would seem the more likely track for Tiones to make an impact would be in Vangaziland. If Tiones is going to compete for the victory in the Gryphon Supermarkets 250, however, they may have to fend off a number of their own teammates with last seasons race runner-up Yraaga Gilli'i certainly going to be considered among the race favorites as well as journeyman driver Jama'obo Pegasii who is expected to return behind the wheel of the #37 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart for the first time since NSSCRA Season 6 in contesting for the Open Charter slots in the 4th Vilita and Turori Motorsports entry. If Pegasii is able to make the start in the Gryphon Supermarkets 250 they could make an impact on the race having finished inside the Top 5 in their only previous appearance at the Imperial Speedway in South Stead two seasons ago.

The 4th entry for Vilita and Turori Motorsports has made limited appearances this season despite the extended season schedule due to the departure of their previous development driver Rockii Ezis and the CoCoCo Primary Sponsorship that had funded the 4th entry for 27 of the previous 30 NSSCRA events coming into the start of NSSCRA Season 8. After initially parking the 4th car when Ezis finalized the deal to take over as driver of Rocket Motorsports #48 car, Vilita and Turori Motorsports brought the team back at the Lonngeylin Ring to give an opportunity to top local driver Lotara Novorali. Novorali brought sponsorship from Arcticala Electrical and the car was rebranded to her #49 from her weekly racing ride at the request of Arcticala Electrical for the purpose of marketing consistency. Novorali would make a handful of starts in the #49 car but could never improve upon her 21st place finish in the Toys '4' All 500, finishing outside the Top 30 in the majority of her starts. Novorali's deal with the team ended when the circuit made its last appearance inside Atlantian Oceania. While the team hasn't ruled out Novorali returning in the future it is unlikely that her average finish of 30th position would do much to impress sponsors that she is ready to compete at the highest level. Now the team looks to close out the season returning the 4th car to the track with Jama'obo Pegasii behind the wheel. Since departing the team on mutual terms at the end of NSSCRA Season 6, Pegasii has brought their talents to various racing discipline throughout the multiverse including the Ensadrink GT Championship where the Vilita and Turorian driver stepped in to help the SUPER OPTION Motorsport team with a pair of runner-up finishes where they had previously earned zero points during their season. Pegasii represented the Vilitan Union at the Olympic Games in the Free Republics during the Auto Racing demonstration event and has also recently competed on the World Grand Prix 2 circuit with Team SVJ Racing and consistently over performed in an under powered car wheeling the #37 to a number of surprise podium finishes. It is perhaps the story of journeyman Pegasii's career thus far to step in and help a struggling team get a solid result when they need a boost and while Vilita and Turori Motorsports are still competing for a championship, their development team which had a number of strong runs with Rockii Ezis during NSSCRA Season 7 including a pair of Top 5 finishes, has not even experienced a Top 20 run during NSSCRA Season 8 and will be turning to Pegasii to give them a reason to be proud of their efforts at seasons end.

The Valentians – Qualifications @ Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund

It was yet another day for the Valentians. One of those days when they are going to dread the very thing that is called the Road Course. Though, in all honesty, none of the Valentians did extremely badly for the courses, and perhaps apart from some of the blunders and bumps along the race, they did not go THAT bad that they ended up behind the 30h position, or a DNF.

Tagging along with the Valentians for the one of the many few times was Chief Senator Annette Shannon Gwendolyn “Höchste Gerechtigkeit Und Heitere Ehre” Melissa Liliah Nelie Irella I. Steinhäusser Magdalena Tammy Elizabeth Jennifier Dorothea Wanda Ec. Lexer, or Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer for short, who herself is a German, and is currently serving the Valentians as a Chief Senator, as the title suggested. She passed her responsibilities to the next capable person, figuring that she could take a break from the busy life of being a judge and a lawmaker.

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: Ahh, Jebslund! What a place to be! Pretty… Germanic, I see! So, Annette, what do you think so far?

Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer: Wonderful, I suppose! Quite a lovely place to be in, and reminds me of the Germany that we have during Cold War, you know? I mean… not the WW2 one, mind you, but just the Germany we have had after World War 2, and before Cold War wiped off the planet.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: I suppose that you will fit in with the rest of the populace here? I mean, you speak their language and everything.

Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer: You as well, Jolyn. For someone as multilingual as you, you certainly will not have any problems as well!

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Indeed… we will definitely socialise with them more once the race and the qualifications finishes.

After unpacking their belongings and taking in on the surroundings, the three Valentian drivers hit the simulations, with Clarissa soon after pacing and surveying the road track. It did not seem too bad is doable, but there is still the inherit fear that they simply could not get rid of from as early as Tropicorp / Cocoabo Reserve that they did long, long ago. As they slept it off and went for the qualifications on the very next day, the Valentians realised that, for all things considered, they did not fare too bad compared with the others. Clarissa, Jolyn, and Gwen placed 20th, 9th, and 2nd respectively for the qualifications.

Exuberant Superintendent T-1000/2904 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi: Like I said, I am very sure that Gwen got the road courses bit extremely well, and Jolyn as well! As for myself… maybe I got a little too overconfident, or something along that way, I am not very sure myself. What I am sure of… is that the dirt road was rather difficult for me, and even with the damp ground and the relative lack of dirt obscuring my view, I still found myself with some difficulty in trying to get the traction that I need. Haha, maybe now I am the one deathly afraid of road courses instead of Jolyn.

Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимый, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna: So… I did it again, it seems. Even better than the qualifications I got for the speedway, can you imagine that? I feel bad for Clarissa, and yeah, she cited that it was the nature of the dirt road that might be troubling her. That… and maybe she is becoming a little overconfident. Either that, or that she does not have enough data on the nature of the dirt roads and thus could not steer herself too well, pun intended, of course! I wish her and Gwen all the best in the road course! For me… I’m getting the hang of it, it would seem. I used to be very, very afraid of road courses, not just because of the Tropicorp thing, but… I don’t know, maybe it stemmed from the bad experiences I have navigating around complicated roads.

Chief Aviator Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Eveline Celinda Sammy Doris Wit. Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison: Yeah, second again, whoo! But you know what else I would like? Being able to bloody maintain my position while I am at it! Seriously, why is it that I can do exceedingly well for the qualifications, and ended up being utter rubbish when it comes to the actual race itself? Was it something about me not being able to handle long endurance races… or maybe it was my height that was giving me back problems? I don’t know, I don’t remember having back problems as of now, to be honest. Then what’s the issue? Hmm.

The Valentians – After Qualifications @ Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund

The three Valentians gathered around and talked about their strategies for a while, having bought dinner from… somewhere rather exotic.

Gwen Tracer Allison Fate Hepburn: Goodness gracious, rats again? I don’t mind, but… is there a pattern I am seeing? Where do you keep getting them, Clarissa?

Clarissa Alanis Star Coraline Taissa: Haha, Die Gluchliche Ratte! It was tented near the road course!

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Ahh, didn’t see it!

Germaine Athena Angelina Mercy Sylvi: Can I have some again? Would be lovely!

Clarissa Alanis Star Coraline Taissa: Haha, please do help yourself, Germaine!

Germaine Athena Angelina Mercy Sylvi: Thank you!

And with that, they see Germaine eating the roasted rat, along with Gwen who took the second piece, and Clarissa, who took 2 rats.

Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer: So err Clarissa, what is this about this thing that you got again? You said you got an extract from the last season.

Clarissa Alanis Star Coraline Taissa: Ahh, ooh, right! Here it is! So.. it’s basically about the food that they sold in the previous season!

As Clarissa opened up her tablet and navigated around, she eventually came across the newspiece that was written by Jebslund for the previous season. They would see most of these places coming back, though there were indeed some changes compared to the previous race, attributed by the lack of some of the vendors and stalls for this season.

Patterson to Finish Out Series, Snacks for Days
Sponsors eagerly watching Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke for improvements in newest Jebslund driver

So, I'm going to go ahead and keep this article brief, because we all know what the important bit's going to be, but, for those of you keeping tabs on Lexi Patterson, you'll be happy to know that she will, indeed, be finishing out the season, which means she'll not only be in the open charter for Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, but she'll also be competing for open charters in all other Chase races. For this one, specifically, though, several members of Sie Nah Fleet System's chairman council will be in attendance for the purposes of recording and analysing her racing firsthand to see what improvements still need to be made. From what I hear, those bots have been running her darn near ragged trying to catch her up to the other competitors here, so here's hoping she's been improving enough for it to show.

And now for the food!

Today's Imbissmeister is Baumwollträume, a candy company best known for their Haariger Gerald sugar dolls with cotton candy hair (a personal favorite of mine, as far as their products go). You name the fruit, they've got a Harriger Gerald in its flavor or in the works.

But I promised snacks for days, didn't I? Well, I'm doing something a bit different this time, folks! Instead of companies and their lines, your girl Eva Kerman der Die Sportler is going to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to some of my favorite rural treats!

First on the list is a classic: Cherry chocolate cake. Yeah, yeah, not impressive. Unless, of course, you like cherries topping a cake with three kinds of chocolate, cherries baked in, and a sweet cherry filling in the middle of two moist, rich layers of chocolatey cake goodness!

Then there's my grandma's specialty (say hi when you're going around town before and after the race if you want! Granny's expecting company.), some lovely chocolate spice cookies. Now, I promised I wouldn't tell you all of what's in 'em, but I will say they are *not* to be missed.

And what goes best with cookies? Cinnamon hot chocolate, of course! Well, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and some other spices, that is, but they all combine with the chocolate to give it that extra something special you just don't get with that powder you buy in stores.

And who can forget those good old Dorfration? I mean, yeah, you *could* try to eat one of those giant pretzels yourself, but that's a big ask even for a Jebslunder Kerbal, so... But, then again, they *are* coated with cinnamon sugar. Or salt, if that's your kink.

Speaking of salt, I hear Herr Bauer Johann Kerman's making his famous Himalayan Salt ice cream again this year. You have not *lived* until you've tried it! And definitely top it with chocolate buttons!

If you're in more of a dinner mood, the inn's got some to-die-for schnitzel, and the cheese rolls they serve with dinner is *definitely* something you'll want more of. Say, "Ja!", when the server lass asks you if you want complimentary bread. Trust me!

And, yeah, there's a lot you can pair with schnitzel, but onion fries are one of the better sides on the menu. Perfectly fried potatoes with onion salt on top. Can't go wrong with that, seriously. Some people are weird and like to cover them in the house ranch dressing, but those people are missing out! Good fries need no condiments.

And 48 flavors of milkshake will definitely make for good dessert. Well, those and the cherry pies they make. Big, sweet, tart, and served fresh any time of day! Order before the main course, though. When I say fresh, I mean *fresh*. And from scratch.

Writing for the Sportler, this has been Eva Kerman wishing you a lucky season!

Germaine Athena Angelina Mercy Sylvi: Holy goodness, how many types of chocolate do these people have? And I couldn’t believe that there are these many ways to serve chocolate.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: You will end up with sweet tooth… and possibly diabetes, if you are going to try all of that on a single day.

Germaine Athena Angelina Mercy Sylvi: Exactly!

Clarissa Alanis Star Coraline Taissa: Well, I won’t get it, haha! You know, being a robot and everything.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: Wait a second… diabetes… we don’t have to worry about that, actually. Hey, we are in our synthetic bodies, remember?

Germaine Athena Angelina Mercy Sylvi: Gasp, you are right, Jolyn! We can eat all we want and if we got problems, we can always remove it entirely, or get a new body! The wonders of modern science!

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: I swear, we are going to be bad role models for the future Valentians! Eating, then abandoning our bodies once we are done with it.

Marcus Alan Ariel Baptiste Reynolds: Well, can’t hurt to spoil yourself now and then, I suppose. Though, with limitations, you know?

Jenny Claudia Sombra Linette Hoshiko: Haha, well… tonight, we sleep! And tomorrow, after the race, we raid the entire of Jebslund.. for chocolate.

Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer: Raid as in… like looting raid, or some other kind?

Jenny Claudia Sombra Linette Hoshiko: Haha, I was just kidding. I am not going to steal the food. Just going to buy almost every single thing they have with money, see? “Raiding” their fridge of chocolate!

Annette Shannon Gwendolyn Wanda Lexer: Ahh, gotcha. You would think that we are sick of chocolates when we are living in Valentine Z. Chocolates is our speciality! Along with cats, of course.

Jolyn Helen Maxine Caulfield Ceeta: We just never thought that such combinations would be possible, to be honest.

It had been a frustrating year for Liangmei Li. After missing out on a full-season NSSCRA charter, she had found it difficult to make up her mind whether to pursue opportunities to use the open charter, or whether to go all-in on domestic racing in IRACT.

Even worse: Not only had Rinzi Zakhilwal beat her out for an NSSCRA charter. Now Kowloon's gossip magazines were circulating a rumor that he was dating an exotic-looking fashion model from Kathmandu, and everyone was fascinated with how glamorous they looked together. Li felt like they were intruding on her turf. She was supposed to be the glamour queen of the Sherpa racing world, not some black chick with a fro big enough to have its own postal code! Li was jealous.

When she heard that the Proving Grounds were inviting drivers to compete for a charter to race in the championship race, she knew she had to be there. She felt like she had something to prove. If she won the charter, she could at least end the season on a high note and have some momentum going into next spring...

[Liangmei Li (#89) and Ongmu Yeti (#40) will be competing for the open charter at the Proving Grounds. Ongmu Yeti and her crew are actual yetis.]

Meanwhile, in Vangaziland, Rinzi Zakhilwal was busting his ass at practice and talking to Mayhem, Cococo, and Seven Peaks Tsampa about sponsorships for next season. It seemed like the most likely outcome would be a primary sponsorship from Mayhem and less prominent support from the other companies -- but it wasn't all finalized yet. Zakhilwal particularly wanted a sponsorship from Seven Peaks Tsampa because they had a cushy deal with AutoModi's open wheel racing team, and a sponsorship from them would make him feel like he was on equal footing with the open wheel drivers. But Seven Peaks wasn't interested in outbidding Mayhem.

On the track, Zakhilwal was reasonably satisfied with how his car was driving, but he was dismayed that Yraaga Gilli'i was faster than him in qualifying. Zakhilwal didn't care that much about Suzgar and Qiang claiming the front row. Qiang had already locked down one of the four spots to race for the championship next week, and Suzgar was pretty well out of reach unless he crashed out or something. Gilli'i was one of the drivers close behind Zakhilwal that he needed to hold off.

Zakhilwal didn't like Gilli'i anyway. He was too quiet. It was weird.

River "Shark" Suzgar II :: #14 Vilitan Tourism / Vilaye Energy Drink / Toys '4' All Dart
:: WINS: [ 1 ] :: TOP 5: [ 9 ] :: TOP 10: [ 15 ] -:- POLES: [ 3 ]

Yraaga Gilli'i :: #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart
:: WINS: [ 3 ] :: TOP 5: [ 7 ] :: TOP 10: [ 11 ] -:- POLES: [ 2 ]

Gryphon Supermarket 250, Imperial Speedway, South Stead, Vangaziland :: Neither River 'Shark' Suzgar II nor Yraaga Gilli'i were locked into the Championship Four heading into the final race of the Round 8 at at the Imperial Speedway in South Stead, Vangaziland. The two Vilita and Turori Motorsports drivers have been in this position before as just as they did during the same race weekend one season ago. Coming into that race, River 'Shark' Suzgar II was in the Top 4 in the standings heading into Vangaziland while Yraaga Gilli'i was eight points behind their teammate outside the Top 4 and on the outside looking in. In that race, Gilli'i fought their way up from a 27th starting position to finish as runner-up to Glorious Free Republic Motorsports driver Thea Alvarez. Suzgar, meanwhile, fought hard to try to get into the Top 10 at race end but fell two positions short in 12th place which meant that Gilli'i jumped ahead of Suzgar in the Chase standings and would advance to the Final Round while knocking their teammate out in the process.

The duo come into the Gryphon Supermarket 250 in a very similar position this season with Suzgar leading the way among drivers yet to secure a place in the Championship Four while Gilli'i is on the outside looking in, sixteen points behind Suzgar and nine points behind third place driver Stacie Houston in a very tight pack of drivers who are hoping they can advance to the Championship round on points if they can't take the victory at the Imperial Speedway.

The Vilita and Turori Motorsports drivers were quick from the moment they unloaded in South Stead which was likely a surprise to no one considering how strong Vilita and Turori Motorsports have performed at the Imperial Speedway during the past two seasons. During NSSCRA Season 6, Vilita and Turori Motorsports driver Centur Tiones took home the checkered flag after starting from Pole Position for their first career victory. Last season Tiones started in third position while Gilli'i finished runner-up. For the first time however it was Suzgar showing some speed surprising many by putting the #14 Toys '4' All Dart on pole position as one of just two drivers to turn a sub-sixteen second lap. While they couldn't quite beat the lap set by Kev Schorebrook one season ago Suzgar still earned their third Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award of the season and seventh of their career. Of course the fact that Suzgar is driving the #14 Toys '4' All Dart on the weekend means that Pole Award sponsor Vilaye Energy Drink is still waiting a first pole position to be won by their driver in full Vilaye Energy Drink livery. Suzgar has twice won pole position in the Vilitan Tourism Bureau colors and twice in the Toys '4' All colors over the past two seasons as well as winning the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award for the Pencurve Electronics 500 at the Jalton Super Speedway where Suzgar was running a special tri-sponsored livery which will be the same design on the car for the season ending Proving Grounds 500 in Tundra Falls.

Suzgar will start alongside Kai Qiang who was the only other driver to break the sixteen second barrier in qualifying. Qiang is already assured a place in the Championship Four and will be surrounded by two drivers desperately seeking to secure their own spot with pole winner Suzgar the current highest placed driver on points still fighting for one of three remaining spots while Gilli'i, the Short Track expert who leads the circuit in race victories but is currently on the outside looking in for the Playoffs. Suzgar's Pole Award is their first ever on a Short Track with Suzgar likely being just as surprised as anyone else with their success during Qualifying in Vangaziland. In six prior Short Track events this season, Suzgar's best starting position was a 17th place qualifying effort at the home course at the Lonngeylin Ring for the Toys '4' All 500. In fact, 4 of Suzgar's 5 worst qualifying runs this season have come on Short Tracks including at the Yoggy Oval in Filindostan where Suzgar qualified dead last with the slowest time in the field and at the Golden Bear 400 in Hampton Island where Suzgar could only post the 44th fastest time of all drivers in the #14 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart.

With the entire field behind them at the start, however, Suzgar, Qiang and Gilli'i could be set up to not only battle for the victory in Vangaziland, but to also continue that fight straight into the finale in Tundra Falls with the NSSCRA Season 8 Championship on the line.

Gryphon Supermarket 250, Imperial Speedway, South Stead, Vangaziland :: Centur Tiones has always run well at the Imperial Speedway in South Stead and was looking to once again put in a strong performance and perhaps challenge for the win on race day to finish out the season on a positive note after having been eliminated early from contention for the NSSCRA Season 8 Title. Tiones couldn't find the speed on their qualifying lap, however, unable to keep pace with their teammates Suzgar and Gilli'i who will be starting the race nose to tail at the front of the pack in first and third place. After winning the pole in Vangaziland during NSSCRA Season 6 and starting third during last seasons event, if Tiones is to challenge for the top spot on race day they will have to do so from the 15th starting position. Tiones will be chasing former teammate Rockii Ezis on the grid as Ezis will be looking to give Rocket Motorsports their first victory since the NSSCRA Season 6 finale by competing for the Newmanistan based factory sponsored team in the #48 CoCoCo Rocket. Ezis' will start nose to tail with teammate Kevin Daniels in the #24 who will take the green flag from the 10th position.

Vilita and Turori Motorsports will have one additional car in the race which will be the #87 Vilaye Roast Dart driven by Jama'obo Pegasii. Pegasii had been rumored for some time to be making a return for Vilita and Turori Motorsports in Vangaziland, a track which Pegasii has seen success previously at the NSSCRA level posting a Top 5 finish at the Imperial Speedway while running a partial season for Vilita and Turori Motorsports during NSSCRA Season 6. Now, Pegasii returns to the track for Vilita and Turori Motorsports after having traveled the multiverse driving all types of vehicles including GT, Open Wheel and even competing in the Olympic Games. The deal was only finalized earlier in the week as Pegasii's sponsor the Vilisorma Beverage Company was trying to determine which of their brands would be on the car for the race. While Pegasii drove the #37 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart during NSSCRA Season 6 and continued to be sponsored by Vilaye Energy Drink while on their driving tour of the multiverse, the Vilisorma Beverage Company is looking to take advantage of the opportunity with Pegasii in the car to debut a new product, the Vilaye Roast which will be offered in two forms, the traditional canned product and a powdered form that could either be added to water or used in a roasting drip pot to produce the savory kick of the new Vilaye Roast beverage.

The team unveiled the car earlier in the week before heading to Vangaziland and at that point the car had Pegasii's traditional #37 on the doors and roof. However, when the car hit the track for the first practice session in South Stead the number had been changed from #37 to #87 as the NSSCRA Sanctioning Body did not immediately approve the transfer of the #37 to Vilita and Turori Motorsports as it had already been used competitively during the season by Hapilopper's Team Blue. As a result, the "Fourth Team" for Vilita and Turori Motorsports crafted a modification to the number three on Pegasii's ride using colored duct tape to turn it into a #87 for the race weekend. While the Imperial Speedway is not the most aerodynamically sensitive race course, the additional weight of the tape may have slowed Pegasii down as the #87 Vilaye Roast Dart was the slowest of the four Vilita and Turori Motorsports cars with Pegasii's 16.364 second lap nearly 4 tenths of a second behind teammate and pole winner River 'Shark' Suzgar II's lap time and about a tenth of a second outside the Top 10 positions.

Despite qualifying mid-pack there is still plenty of opportunity for Pegasii to excel in the race and repeat their success at the course from two seasons prior. There will still be seven drivers battling for a spot in the Championship Four that will want Pegasii and the rest of the non-playoff drivers to give them additional room but other non-playoff drivers like Pegasii and fellow part-timer Juracai Klianiota in the #73 for Hapilopper's Team Blue are unlikely to be too concerned about making way for the Chasers as they look to make their own mark on the series by parking their cars in victory lane.

It will be the first of two races for Pegasii and the #87 Vilaye Roast Dart team as they will also make the trek to the season ending Proving Grounds 500 where Vilita and Turori Motorsports will field two additional entries from its Fourth Car stable. The team will bring one additional hauler with them to Newmanistan in addition to the transporters for their three full time teams. In that hauler will be the standard primary and backup cars but with separate liveries, the #87 Vilaye Roast Dart for Jama'obo Pegasii and the #49 twii.tur / Racing Collectors Dart for Lotara Novorali who will get the chance to travel with the team and see if she can sneak into the field for one more race. Neither Pegasii nor Novorali will be guaranteed into the field and will have to qualify in on time. As neither driver will have a backup car for the race they will have to ensure to take care of things in the first practice session as getting involved in an incident before Qualifying could mean they would be unable to even make an attempt to get into the field. If both drivers keep their cars clean during Practice and Qualifying and one of the two advance to the race then the car that failed to qualify for the field would become the backup. Either way it will provide a little extra exposure for the Vilisorma Beverage Company's newest brand and a little more experience for the rookie driver Novorali who can turn her first laps at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds even if she doesn't take the green flag to close out the NSSCRA Season 8 Campaign.

The Team Blue Center, Imperial Speedway, South Stead, Vangaziland
Two hours after qualifying
The scene inside the Team Blue Center after qualifying did not indicate that anything was about to happen. Drake Stevenson was in a meeting with Juracai Klianiota, reading some telemetry data and enjoying a glass of wine. The meeting centered around how Juracai could get up to where Chris Holmes and Frank Bronson were at, near the front of the field. The two were reviewing data from all three cars during practice and qualifying.

“See, the idea is, I’d like all three cars in the top ten at the checkered flag,” Drake said. “I’ve got faith in you. You can do this, and shit, you could win on Sunday. All you got to do is get dialed in right and hit your marks perfectly.”

While Drake and Juracai were reviewing telemetry data, Chris and Frank were doing a little bit of bench racing over a pulled pork and collard green dinner. The two were comparing their personal experiences in practice and qualifying, which had been pretty similar, except for that little detail involving Chris having a stuck throttle in the middle of practice.

“You ever had a stuck throttle?” Chris asked Frank.

“No, I’m happy to say,” Frank responded. “I remember my rookie year we had a lot of stuck throttles in HASCAR, but that was because of a bad batch of throttle cables that the teams had purchased from one of the vendors. Couple of guys got hurt, too, so I’m glad you’re OK. That could have fucked you up bad.”

Actually, Chris was remarkably lucky. The throttle started sticking as he put his foot on the gas coming out of turn four for a practice lap, and was hung wide open as he tried to slow for the first corner. Fortunately, Chris had the presence of mind (now, doesn’t that sound scary?) to hit the kill switch immediately, and he coasted the car back to pit road.

When Chris got back to pit road, he got out of the car and started screaming at his crew chief, Lawrence Malloy.

“You get that throttle fixed NOW!” Chris screamed. “I’m not going back out there until I know it’s fixed!”

Lawrence was puzzled as to why Chris was so angry, until he realized that, yes, the throttle had hung wide open. Chris was incredibly lucky, and Lawrence immediately realized he couldn’t blame his driver for being so angry. Still, the sight was one to behold in the garage, as Chris took off his helmet and hurled it towards a building. Drake Stevenson, walking toward the pit, looked over at the helmet smash against the building and went straight over to talk to the young driver.

“The fuck’s your problem?” Drake asked Chris.

“Throttle hung wide open,” Chris replied angrily. “I’m not going to run a car when its throttle hangs like that! I don’t want to die out there!”

Drake understood entirely. He didn’t need any other explanation.

After the throttle was replaced, Chris went back out there and turned some quick times, and the car was handling just the way he liked it. Frank’s car was handling beautifully, too.

Late that evening, a man with a very gray-looking mullet and a cigar cradled with his lips walked into the Team Blue Center. It was Chet Byrd. He looked to be in a great mood and a great place in his life. He arrived a day late for the race, but he wanted to cheer on his teammates for this last race. He had also decided about going for that second open charter in Newmanistan a week from now.

Somehow or another, his arrival had gotten everyone’s attention. Drake and the three drivers were playing a card game. Some crew members were watching pro wrestling. Others were playing video games and drinking a lot of Team Blue’s beer supply for the race. Marty Lewis and Amanda McAlister, the new team boss, were ironing out a manufacturer’s contract for the next season, as well as finalizing details for who would drive the third car in NSSCRA IX. Everyone stopped what they were doing and saw Chet walk in and walk right towards Amanda.

“You asked me about that car, right?” Chet asked her.

“No, Drake did, but I’m curious. You in for Newmanistan?”

“Hell yeah, I’m in,” Chet said. “Let’s get the job done.”

So it was decided that, for the first time ever, Team Blue would enter five cars in the Proving Grounds 500 Finale at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds. Chris Holmes would drive #81. Frank Bronson would drive #8. Juracai Klianiota would drive #73. Drake Stevenson would drive #71. And Chet Byrd, the old warrior from Hapilopper City, would get one last run before he rode off into the sunset, driving car #72.

There would be more details to come with an announcement the day after the Gryphon Supermarket 250. But one major detail had already leaked to the media. Preston Autos had gotten the new Super Skychief approved for competition, and could run it as soon as they wanted. The new Super Skychief would make its NSSCRA debut at the Proving Grounds 500. All five cars would carry vastly different paint schemes for the season’s last race, and those paint schemes would also be released to the public as the week progressed.

NSSCRA: CA-CAW! CA-CAW!
Another Cocoabo earns win; Yeezies close points gap

by Claude Harlan

FRIEDLICHESHEIM - Just three weeks after one of their Cocoabos became the first avian winner of an NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association) points race, Team Tropicorp has another reason to celebrate. Following in the footsteps of the history-making Cocoabo #78 is its fellow Cocoabo, #28, as the latter also found victory lane, this time at Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke here in Jebslund.

Cocoabo #28, driving the Cocoabo Preservation Society Dart bearing its number, held off a bunch of Chase participants for the win. Team Cassadaigua's Stacie Houston took second in the #27 Five Star Mobile Blaze, followed by Sherpa competitor Kai Qiang, who won last week in Kardashia to lock himself into the Championship Four, in the #44 Khamdo Electronics TMW. Just behind Qiang,is fellow driver popularity contest winner Thea Alvarez, who drives the #46 Multiversal Automotive Coatings Chadwick for St. Kanye's Glorious Free Republic Motorsports; fifth is polesitter, Alvarez's teammate, and Houston's close friend Jeremiah Brooke in the #18 Hyde Medical Group Chadwick. The two Kanyeans, while remaining below the cut line for the title-deciding race in Tundra Falls, Newmanistan, were able to close the gap between themselves and the other competitors.

Following the top five are two non-Chasers, Valentian Gwen Tracer Allison in the #31 T. Racer Holdings Eveline and Team Tropicorp's Anavella Ariiki in the #88 Tropicorp Dart. Chris Holmes, driver of the #81 factory-sponsored Preston for Hapilopper's Team Blue, was eighth; Jolyn Helen Ceeta, Allison's teammate, took the #15 Intermediate Tunings Eveline to ninth; Vilita & Turori Motorsports' Centur Tiones closed out the top ten in his #2 Tiones Lumber Dart. Holmes, Ceeta and Tiones were all part of the playoffs, but have already been eliminated.

Third Yeezie Chaser Skip Stiller settled for fifteenth and fell alongside his teammates in the standings. Said the driver of the #3 QED Car Rentals Chadwick, "It's a little disappointing to see my spot go down like that. But now my teammates and I are bunched up, so what we have to do in the next race is help each other advance by having a strong showing and prevent the other Chasers from doing that as well." The bottom five playoff drivers (the GFR trio, VTM's Yraaga Gilli'i, and Sherpa ROTY Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal) are all within four points of each other. "I'm especially concerned about Gilli'i", said Alvarez. "Next race [the Gryphon Supermarket 250 in South Stead, Vangaziland] is a short track, and we all know how the 41 is very strong in those. He almost won last season, and I feel like he's out for blood this time." It was Alvarez herself who won that race over both Gilli'i and Houston in a late race charge. The Kanyeans' tendency to steal wins in the final laps of a race has gained the name "Yeezie magic" to some fans of the series. "Well, Yeezie magic or no, a win would be great", said Brooke. "It's gonna be a race for survival in Vangaziland. We'll be there, and we'll be ready." The GFR trio will use their special paint schemes next week.

Let's fast forward to the Proving Grounds 500 in two weeks. Track management has invited all part-time drivers who have previously competed in a race (or a qualifier for one) this season to fight for one of the open charters. GFR's R&D driver Sage Caldwell has agreed to throw his helmet in the ring, piloting his usual #19 Blood Moon Beer Chadwick. No word yet on whether Philip West, who has said that last week's Kardashia Chadwick Dealers 400 would be his last NSSCRA appearance, will participate.

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.

NSSCRA: WHO GOES? WHO STAYS?
Upcoming Vannish race decides Championship Four - will the Kanyeans stay alive?

by Francis Ludgate

SOUTH STEAD - Welcome back to beautiful Vangaziland, home of Imperial Speedway, site of the Gryphon Supermarket 250. In the three seasons (so far) of the NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association)'s Chase era, the 250 is one of four points races to occupy a constant place in the schedule, in its case being the second to last race and therefore the Championship Four decider. (The other three are: the Tundra Falls 500 and Proving Grounds 500, both at the Tundra Falls Proving Grounds in Newmanistan, being the first and last points race of the season respectively; and the Pencurve Electronics 500 at the Jalton Superspeedway in St. Kanye, the regular season finale and Chase field decider.)

The 250 has had a short history, but what a history it was. Two seasons ago, millions of Vannish had their hearts broken when Vilita and Turori's Centur Tiones (#2), who was not even in the Chase, defeated hometown driver Floyd Hackerbee (#75), denying the latter a shot at the title. Last season, an exciting battle for the win between Cassadagan Stacie Houston (#27) and Tiones' teammate Yraaga Gilli'i (#41) was spoiled when Kanyean Thea Alvarez (#46) snuck past the two of them on the way to the finish line. It is very much expected by race fans around the world that this season's edition of the Vannish short track shootout would also produce a memorable story.

Right now, three spots in the Championship Four are at stake, the fourth one already claimed by Sherpa Kai Qiang (#44) when he grabbed a win in Kardashia two weeks ago. One of the favorites to join Qiang is the titleholder from two seasons ago, River Suzgar of V&T. The Shark put his #14 Dart in pole position and barring a catastrophic collapse, will be able to advance on points. The other six Chasers, including Gilli'i, Alvarez, and defending champion Houston, are all within nine points of each other, making for a mad scramble to the finish.

"I know this race is not gonna be easy, so I increased my efforts in practice accordingly", spoke Jeremiah Brooke, Alvarez's teammate at Glorious Free Republic Motorsports. The driver of the #18 Chadwick was the fastest Yeezie in qualifying, earning the fourteenth spot in the field. "I'm more than ready to take on my competitors." Alvarez, who was two places below him at sixteenth, added "I'm excited too, I wanna see how well the strategies the crew and I went through would work. Hoping to repeat, both as winner, and Championship Four participant." Skip Stiller, meanwhile, was stuck near the back at thirty-third. GFR's veteran, who pilots the #3, said "Not the best qualifying effort. But this is a short track, it's possible to get to the front early and easily. But only if one puts the work in. That's a must." Of the three, only Stiller has never been in contention for the title in Newmanistan. Brooke was part of the Championship Four cast two seasons ago, as was Alvarez, but the latter was also able to advance last season.

Meanwhile, back in Kardashia, Philip West has finally decided to delay his NSSCRA retirement by one more race, as he'll be part of the qualifiers for the Proving Grounds 500. He said that the return of Hapilopper's Chet Byrd, who has also announced that he was retiring from the series, has been a factor in his decision. West will be in the #01 factory-sponsored Chadwick that he previously used in the Guilin and Kardashia races.

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.

The Valentians – Actual Race @ Die Landschaftlich Schöne Strecke, Friedlichesheim, Jebslund

Having a content breakfast, and holding off on the milkshake for the after-race celebration, the three Valentians made their way to the vehicles and once again, it was time for them to race. Gwen slept inside Marcus’ trailer, while Jolyn slept in the only King’s size bed that was in their lounge, along with Clarissa who slept on a single bed. Details aside, it was proof that this was working, and that neither Jolyn nor Gwen were feeling sore from being hit by one another unintentionally during their sleep. Jared checked the vehicles for the very last minute, followed by a short lecture on the course for the Valentians. The dirt track proved to be a challenge for Clarissa, but otherwise, three of them would more or less do fine with this course.

Jared Kev Jensen Benedict Angus: All the best, girls!

The trio pushed their vehicles to their starting points determined by the qualifications, and getting inside, they checked their vehicles one last time and soon, it was time to go.

“Drei… Zwei… Eins… LOS!” the announcer shouted as the flag was waved. All the cars gunned their engines and then they were all away.

Exuberant Superintendent T-1000/2904 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi: I really tried my best for this one, and well, there were blunders throughout the race, maybe save for the 3rd and the 4th segments. Otherwise… I think I will need to work better, haha! I am not used to the dirt roads, like at all, and it did not help that the data I have obtained was mainly for asphalt. Still, I will take it as a learning point, haha! Obtain more data for racing in dirt conditions, so that I would have a much better time being able to drive around with ease, and do all the necessary stops and accelerations!

Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимый, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna: As if the race itself was not stressful enough, I have encountered two blunders… well, one from myself, and one from another racer. The first segment was where I already have problems because like Clarissa, I kept having a habit of driving like I am on an asphalt road. I have to remind myself that such was not the case, and that it would end up in me spinning around…. Okay, I spun out a little at the first segment, but was not enough to get me a DNF, thank goodness. I was deathly close to getting it, but I recovered well enough to get back to the Top 10. Andddd by the time the 4th segment came, David Rockingham from Esmerel nearly did me in. I was around 15th mainly because the other drivers overtook me out of skill, that’s fine. But then he came along, slowed down too late, and with that remaining amount of speed, he hit me! He hit me and I was nearly sandwiched by his car and the outside wall, but luckily, I was able to control it back yet again. I was able to think quickly on my toes – or rather, my hands on the steering wheel, and I was able to get out of the turn before a pile-up happens. #82 didn’t make it though, which is unfortunate. It might be his fault for the accident, but I never thought that he would go out like that. Still, I am hoping that he will be able to do well for the next race! And I finish with a 9th, which… not bad! I’m getting good at road courses!

Chief Aviator Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Eveline Celinda Sammy Doris Wit. Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison: So… that happened. The third segment, I messed up a little, and all those bloody cars just overtook me in the matter of seconds! Talk about competitive people! Well, they ARE competitive because of the race, I will give it that! And then that happened… yep, poor Jolyn and that… guy, David, I think, in #82. I didn’t exactly know what happened, but when I was around 16th at that segment after a pit stop, they were nearly piling up. Jolyn radioed in that she was fine, and sped away. Despite that, I managed to overtake many of them and placed 21st… then I got 6th, haha! Am I satisfied with my results? A little… I could have gotten a lot more had it not for that incident, to be honest. I could have done better! Win a race…

Rinzi Zakhilwal was optimistic going into the Gryphon Supermarket 250. He didn't have much room for error because the Chase standings were so close, but his car had not given him any trouble in practice and qualifying and he thought he had a decent shot to make it into the final four. There was an annoying bee buzzing around in his car, but he shooed it out before the race started and gave it no further thought. Everything was going fine until he snagged his front bumper on Gordon Orton's disabled car and spun, brushing the wall as he struggled to regain control of his car. The damaged bumper was dragging as he started driving again. He whimpered helplessly, "Oh, God, why???" The spin cost him several seconds even before he pitted for repairs, and he really could not afford it in such a short race.

Meanwhile, Dinggu Wang had found his way to the front, where he and Jolyn Helen Ceeta were causing some headaches for Zakhilwal's Chase rivals.

When Zakhilwal returned to the race, his car was not steering quite the same as it had before the spin, and he had trouble adjusting. Kai Qiang managed to very briefly take the lead before the three Kanyean Chasers came up in a pack and Stiller pushed him out of the way. Qiang cussed about it, but not as much as he would have cussed if his championship hopes were on the line. Qiang needed to pit soon anyway, and that set him back a few more positions.

Zakhilwal was still having problems with his car's steering, and he felt like cussing too. By now he knew he was screwed. He just couldn't do anything about it. He crossed the finish line 28th, too far back to be a threat to anyone, and the stunning success of his rookie season came to an anticlimactic end.

After the race, he didn't know how to feel. One moment he would be fussing and moaning about how badly the race had gone; a few minutes later he'd brush it off and start rambling about what a great season he'd had to make it this far. "Even if I didn't win it all this year, NSSCRA hasn't seen the last of me. I will be back!" he said in one of his upbeat mood swings.

Dinggu Wang, who had finished 2nd was actually taking the results harder than Zakhilwal. "It feels kind of hollow when you do well and you know it won't count for anything beyond today," Wang said. He had no idea what he was going to do when the season ended. He wasn't ready to retire, but he wasn't confident of his ability to secure a charter for next season. He had only barely beaten out Liangmei Li to get the third charter this year. And if he didn't get in NSSCRA 9, there was no way he would get in season 10 when Tsering Chu returned to racing full-time.

Qiang's 12th place finish didn't make much of an impression one way or another. Everyone that talked to him after the race wanted to talk about the upcoming season finale. "It feels good to come out on top in this round of the Chase, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. Anything can happen," Qiang said. "If I was a gambling man, I'd bet on Rinzi to win at the Proving Grounds just because he has to be as annoying as possible."

When someone asked Rinzi about this, he laughed it off, saying, "Haha! If he thinks I'm going to win, I'll take it as a compliment!"

Xanneria limps to the finish line
By: Lee Iyokoka

As the season winds up for the NSSCRA boys its a sputtering slow mess, for the Team Iona card. large scale faults with outsourced parts, has left the team running slow on purpose. Even then the team hasn't had any luck at all. The Vangazi race saw the team dial back once again. But even dialing it back spelled trouble for the Xannerians. Gordon Orton cut an oil line and spun when the oil sprayed all over the tires of his car. While that could have caused much trouble for everyone. The only driver who got effected was Rinzi Zakhilwal, who lost a few laps repairing damage and was never in the fight. Zakilwal had turn sharply tot he left to avoid Orton, but could not avoid the stricken car. Walters and Gwinnett couldn't do much keeping afloat and getting some needed points for the team. THe struggle has been real but drivers are still optimistic about the future. Gwinnett was quoted as saying "It's an issue beyond our control, but we can wrangle it under our control before next year. I believe int he guys and I would be inclined to think success is right back around the corner."

With the rash of faulty parts causing Team Iona to press the reset button during the second half of the season. Next year hopefully will prove to be a better year as things are looking up for Knox. Yes the Mercado experiment is likely a failure and EsportivAir Racing won't be back, after owner Maury Spicer faces charges of criminal negligence, due to the findings of poor maintenance that lead to the Flight #129 disaster. But its thought that the Mercado Expirement may have been holding back Knox, And next year could see the team reach their full potential and even make the chase. The Chase whichh Eddie Walters was so close to making this year. Although competition domestically might be tougher. Supposedly Cunningham is in talks with the IRACT about giving their entry factory support next season. Cunningham has recently released their new car the "Blade" at the Pearlham Autoshow and plans on running it in both XCar and possibly NSSCRA, something that they have been known to want to run.

So as the teams roll into Newmanistan for the last time, Maybe Knox can pull out a good finish or maybe the gremlins will be back. Who knows?
