NSSCRA 8- Signup Thread (Stock Car Racing) (CLOSED)
Posted: Mon May 20, 2019 9:06 am
It’s time for stock cars to get back to the track! NSSCRA (NationStates Stock Car Racing Association) is the premier stock car (NASCAR) competition on the forum.
For information on how NSSCRA is scorinated, click here.
I) Basic Signup Rules
All are welcome to signup. SIGN UP THREE DRIVERS*, and note your preferred car number for them. However, as returning users will have the rights to the car numbers they used previously (car numbers is not “first come, first serve”), you may be asked to change their numbers, or have me assign another number at my choice. (00-99 is acceptable).
Additionally, each participating nation will have at least* one race in their home country. So also include the name of your track, its city, and the track record for one lap at the track. Length of the season depends on the number of signups.
II) Charter Usage (relates to guaranteed entries into a race and those subject to qualifying in)
Nations that roleplayed during NSSCRA 6 OR NSSCRA 7 are automatically allowed to bring back their three drivers (if they choose), they are entitled to three “charters” (spots in the field), regardless. This includes usage of the same car number they had in NSSCRA 7, regardless of whether someone else signs up for that number first. Any nation who may have participated in NSSCRA 6 but not NSSCRA 7 will be at the mercy of NSSCRA 7 nations using a preferred car number first, but will have a preference to any such previously used number over a new nation.
Nations that signed up for NSSCRA 6 or 7 but did not roleplay will receive at least one of their “charters” back. Same rule about car number applies. This could be increased to two depending on the number of signups. They may or may not get their second or third entry in every race, and may be subject to having to “qualify” into the field.
New nations will be allowed two charters UNTIL THE MIDWAY POINT of the season. Their third entry will be subject to qualifying in. At the midway point of the season, the level of RP produced by the nation will be considered, and if the new nation has not RP’d, they will lose a guaranteed charter. Also, any new nation that has not roleplayed by the time the chase begins will see all of their entries subject to needing to qualify in. If a new nation has RP’d frequently, they will have preference for a third guaranteed charter that another new nation may lose at the midway point.
About “charters”: Charter swapping between nations is possible, but is a topic to be explored once the season begins, and not to worry about during the signup process.
III) The “open” charter
The “open charter” will return. This will be for a nation to potentially enter a fourth driver, or an additional driver. Interest in the open charter for an upcoming race should be provided in the RP immediately preceding the race desired, or by privately telegramming me. In the event I need to choose, first preference is to allow the open charter to a driver racing at their home track. After that, it comes down to number of times the nation has used the open charter, and the amount of RP they have provided.
– If you are going to declare this in a RP, please bold it in your RP, so it is understood that your intention is clear.
– Nations who signup and who can see themselves as likely to use the open charter (and know who that driver will be) should list their open charter driver in their signup as well. If the fourth driver will be TBD, that is fine, it can be figured out during the year.
IV) Races Per Nation
All nations that signup will be allowed one race at their home track.
The following nations, if they signup, are allowed two races due to RP history in NSSCRA 7: Vilita & Turori, Saint Kanye, Cassadaigua, Vangaziland, Newmanistan, The Sherpa Empire, Hampton Island, Xanneria, Jebslund
V) Puppet Policy
Puppets are allowed at my discretion. The nations that I listed above as being allowed two races are the only nations permitted, if they even wanted too, to enter a puppet. Puppets that have not been roleplayed by the midway point of the season will lose all guaranteed charters.
VI) Important Disclaimer
All guaranteed charter information is subject to change in the event of a higher then anticipated number of signups occurs that would result in a field size above 44. (I know 43 is the official NASCAR number when they could actually fill a field fully, but I’m fine with 44).
VII) Schedule
One or two races are held per week. Qualifying is done the day before the race. Start date is TBD, but a good guess for the opening exhibition race would be June 9th. Signups will probably close around the 3rd.
That was a long preface. An example signup should look like this:
#2- Brad Miller
#12- Blaine Ryan
#22- Joey Shell
Track: My National Speedway
City: Somewhere, My Nation
Length: 1.5 miles
Record: 32.011 seconds (lap record, very important information)
Layout: Standard cookie cutter oval.
