MD3 Cutoff

Every matchday, we will provide some prompts together with the cutoff message. These prompts are used as a guide, and will not result in any benefits should you choose to RP based on these prompts.
For MD3, the prompt is as follows: It is time to showcase something about your country. What do people want to do the most when they visit your country? What should they be on the lookout for? Or is there a less well-known culture in your country that you want to show case? This RP can even take the form of a graphic, a postcard, should you have the abilities to do it!

MD1: Introduce your team! Talk about your nation's history with lacrosse, domestically, internationally. Your team's targets. Introduce some of the stars of your team here in South Jeolerina.
MD2: When the country's athletes come out to play, how does the country support the players? Maybe you can share some information about the fans and how they will show their support their national team at every big tournament.

Cordia Wins Nailbiter vs. Tropicorp

The Cordian Isles 9-8 Tropicorp
Box Score
1st Quarter2nd Quarter3rd Quarter4th QuarterFinal
The Cordian Isles32229
Tropicorp13318

Donbester, South Jeolerina - Yesterday's game was the Cordian squad's biggest test yet. The Cordians took an early 3-0 lead courtesy of two goals from "Captain Mike" Michael Hustad. The Techies got one past goaltender Sofie Westby to end the first quarter, but the Cordians were riding high. The second quarter was a battle. Techie attacker Guaire Malloyei scored early off of a beautiful passing play which had the Cordian defense scrambling. The teams each traded two goals and Cordia ended the half up 5-4, though Tropicorp had the momentum.

Tropicorp came out of the half looking good, while the Cordians looked disjointed for much of the third quarter, and Tropicorp scored three goals in as many minutes, jumping out to a 7-5 lead with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd. After the third goal, Cordia called a timeout and literally subbed out the entire team, putting out the second group instead. The change was nearly instantaneous, as the twin duo of Hans and Nelly Rue crossed around the outside of the offensive zone, confusing the defender and allowing Nelly to step inside and whip a shot into the net for a goal with three minutes to go.

The final goal of the quarter came from alternate captain Selma Lier, as she whipped a long-range shot that Techie goaltender Saoirse Nolani couldn’t see due to people in his line of sight. By the time Nolani realized what had happened, the ball was in the net and the Cordians were celebrating.

The game wasn’t over yet, and Tropicorp demonstrated that with yet another early goal, this time from Muireach Kermitm. Cordia equalized with seven minutes to go on a goal from Niklas Aasen, a shot that went right between Nolani’s legs. There was little celebration; there was work to do. With thirty seconds left, Cordia found the ball in their zone and the Techies threatening. A shot from Kermitm was saved by Tore Bolden, who tossed the ball to a nearby Brit Loe. Loe lofted it out to Ella Ringstad sprinting up the left side of the field. Nelly Rue saw her and the two executed the most perfect cross-and-drop this writer has ever seen. All eyes were on Ringstad, and nobody noticed Rue until she shot, by which time it was too late; there was not enough time for a Tropicorp equalizer. Cordia had won.

Cordia Annihilates Quebec

Quebec and Shingoryeo 6-23 The Cordian Isles
Box Score
1st Quarter2nd Quarter3rd Quarter4th QuarterFinal
Quebec and Shingoryeo10236
The Cordian Isles866323

Donbester, South Jeolerina - There's really not much to say. Let's just say we can expect the Cordian second group to stay starters for a while. The game wasn't in doubt after the first quarter as the Cordians came out swinging and were left with an 8-1 lead after 15 minutes of play. Nelly and Hans Rue had four goals after three quarters, Tore Bolden had three, and each midfielder had two. The defense played absolutely lights-out, allowing just three goals over the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter, Coach Skoglund subbed in the third group, and the fourth quarter was far more competitive than the first three.

The win puts Cordia into - believe it or not - first in Group D, ahead of Sarzonia. While this is not likely to last for long, we can briefly enjoy the position. Elsewhere, #1 ranked Abanhfleft has finally gotten a win, though the issue of them making the knockouts is still very much in question the way they've been playing. Cassadaigua has also been having a rough time, and is hanging in the 5th spot in Group D by a thread.

Tomorrow the Cordian squad faces Ranoria. They're a team not to be taken lightly; after getting blown out in the first round by Beaverriver, they bounced back and were competitive against Sarzonia in a 12-9 loss. They then beat Tropicorp 11-7 last night, while the Cordians squeaked out with a last-second goal to prevent overtime in their game against Tropicorp. The Cordia team cannot get overconfident this game as Ranoria is looking to make the top 5 and needs to get through Cordia to do so.

Brian sighed and looked at his scrambled eggs.

“Did you know, that we are having sentient plants in our nation, so that we went back to eat meat, because we have less sentient, intelligent beings that are animals, so it is ok? Crazy”, he said.

Harry nodded.
“Yes, I heard that. But at least your nation tries to get along with anyone. Kriegiersien on the other way…”

“A nation of war.”

“Not that much anymore, some regional conflicts, but else it is pretty stable now. It is more…”

“More crazy?”

“Yes. It is the nations motto. Thanks to our president.”

“Whenever we come over to play games in Kriegiersien and go out after the sport, we have to undress. That is really absurd. Nobody wants to see a naked Zombie.”

“Yeah, our president wants to make Kriegiersien the number one nudest nation in the World and so everyone has to be naked…”

“And did that work?”

“No, other nations are even nuder somehow after some determining statistics. Many people are not behind this idea. Especially in the colder regions. And the conquered regions. And the one far away. And then all the exceptions for people while doing sport or the military…”

“What brings the people to go to the military or do competitive sport…”

“Exactly. But as the President doesn’t back down from ideas, it goes on. People freeze to death or don’t leave the house…. And now he wants to make the nation World Champion in Lacrosse because someone put the idea in his head.”

“For that we have to get better. We lost against Banija, that can happen. But against Venmere a win is a must.”

“Yes. And as morale officer I had an idea. Moral boost through team binding. We only really see each other at the World Cup. So I thought of a party evening with some booze and where everybody introduces his culture and tells stories. I have some pictures from the Xvarts, from the Orcs, some here from my new home that I wanted to show. I am living on a beautiful Isle some miles away from the mainland.”

He showed Brian some pictures, from him, from the Xvarts, from the Orcs.
Image

“Much nudity, indeed.”

“Yes. Do you have some pictures from your...home?”

“I can look if I find some.”
Brian looked at the gallery in his smartphone.

“Here, there is a funny story behind it. It started as a garden dispute with my neighbour, but now we are good friends and grill together. That is Frank, together with my wife. He wanted to seed chilliapples…”

You don't have to be good to Sell Sticks

The Tropicorp Techies entered their first World Lacrosse Championship with one goal in mind: Sell Sticks. Most of the Tropicorp Team were not that good at Lacrosse. In fact, Tropicorp didn't even submit a team to the recent Atlantian Oceania Lacrosse Championships during the AOLympics. They were too busy participating in some of the other sports instead.

Now, however, the Scientists, Engineers and Researchers at Tropicorp are looking into a new product line: Lacrosse Sticks.

There was virtually no chance that Tropicorp were going to defeat Sarzonia, one of the Top Lacrosse Nations in the Multiverse. Naturally, they didn't. However they only lost by 8 goals and in fact they attributed each of the 5 goals they scored to the experimental stick design that they were looking to productize around the end of the 38th World Lacrosse Championships.

The next match for the Techies would be against The Cordian Isles, a new foe who Tropicorp had never played in any competition or any sport. It was a very close match with the Cordian Isles coming out as 9-8 winners over the Techies but once again, Tropicorp were impressive and performing above and beyond their skill level - attributing their goal scoring record to their Sticks once more. After a 7-11 defeat to Ranoria, Tropicorp found themselves at the Bottom of Group D. Spending more times sucking down slurpees and collecting information for their research than actually practicing Lacrosse, it was unlikely that things would get any better for the Techies any time soon. But, as long as they get the information they need for their Stick Project, it will be considered a successful tournament for Tropicorp.

Sange, OR, the Taxonomic Kingdoms' largest city
The Taxonomic Kingdoms are not exactly a tourist destination. For one thing, they are not easy to get to. The physical entrances are on remote islands, in deep gorges on the sea floor, high in desolate windswept mountains, or hidden at the bottom of caves. There are also spiritual entrances in dreams, visions, prayers, and meditation -- but these require patience.

Mortal travelers who visit the Kingdoms usually have very particular reasons for going there. To escape from death or persecution. To speak with the dead. To beg for mercy from the gods of plagues.

Although Plantae, Fungi, and Chromista are breathtaking in their natural beauty, they are not the most popular destinations for mortal travelers. The Plant Kingdom is particularly hostile toward humans after a series of scandalous fruit robberies.

Most travelers who do not plan to immigrate are actually looking for the way to the Underworld, or trying to contact the dead. At Charon's Ferry, it is possible to cross between Helvetiavirae (a kingdom of viruses) and Elysium (a kingdom of the Underworld). Travel is possible in both directions, and there are money exchanges where people can buy gold to pay their fare. (Charon does not accept checks or credit cards.) Other Virian cities such as Hong Kong, Sange, Bamford, Sanger, and Shotoku have services where you can hire local deities to retrieve dead souls and bring them there.

However, it is not simple for the dead to return all the way back to Earth. The road to and from the Underworld runs through the viral kingdoms, and the dead can't be vaccinated. The dead can meet with the living and have a nice chat over omelets at a cafe in Bamford or Sange -- but if they return to Earth they will usually die again within a few days.

Part 2

Stories about The Gothanita Isles
Chapter 1: North-South divide
Part 3

When "Handoria-Jeoleri" was able to start utilizing more of the forest, they were able to build ships and what not. But traveling for far ranges was still a problem. There was some attempt to travel to explore their surroundings, but the people weren't that proficient. Nevertheless, the next time the Otksars came over to the country, they asked if their sole ship would be able to follow them to visit Otksarin. Some of the village chiefs were there to join the expedition, as the Otksari sailors described the process of navigating around the different islands around. At this point in time, Otksarin was already a member of the Melayu Archipelago. They travel past really congested waters, which apparently belonged to other nations. At that point in time, the Otksars and the Handorians/Jeoleris still had some communication disparity, so they were unable to ask each other a lot of matters. Most were in their respective scripts, sign languages, and what not.

When the Handorians (who formed the majority of the chiefs on board the expedition) saw how nicely developed the Otksarin ports are (the port they travel to was, and still is Otksarin's biggest port. The port area is now located as part of the greater Kuala Pekataan area, known as Port Bangsar). The people were amazed. Even though there were villages, the buildings were much bigger and nicer. A few was using wood. Some, was using bricks. (Otksars say they took the technology from another country). There was quite a bit of development in the country that seems new, such as the use of a wind turbine. Not to mention how there were factories producing clothes using silk. (Handorians and Jeoleris don't really know what is silk back then). As for the palace, you could see how grand the Sultan's palace is. And how well developed the country was as whole. At that point in time, the Jeoleris spotted people paving roads with gravel, and there were bicycles (wow!) going around. You can imagine that in the span of 20 years, the country developed themselves quite quickly. Otksars are really fast learners, and with all the effort being done, the Handorians and the Jeoleris look with envy.

You see, however, there is a problem. The Handorian chiefs and the Jeoleri chiefs looked at how the Otksars did, and the reaction was different. The Jeoleri village chiefs invited Otksars to come over to the Jeolerian island more frequently, to see how they can develop the island. The Jeoleris stayed behind for longer periods, including asking more people to travel between Otksarin and Jeolerina to see the developments. They were learning how to improve their standard of living. The Handorian village chiefs, on the other hand, was talking more to the Sultan and some of the leaders, town chiefs, in the nation. They were learning more about how to establish command and control over the entire island. How does Otksarin manage to develop communication with other parts of the country, and how does people from each town know each other so well. They learned about how to develop a single-leader rule from the top. And they established principles on how the leadership should be done. Who should make decisions for the entire country. Who is going to lead the country into development. They decided that the elders should come together and form a decision-making body, to do command and control from the top.

Naturally, when one focuses on consolidating power, while the other doesn't want to consolidate power, things can go really differently.

The Jovannic 10-13 Baker Park: Emperor's continue losing streak as old rival match looms

After a nail-biting 9-10 defeat to Nyowani Kitara, The Jovannic faced fourth seeds Baker Park. Confidence levels were rather low, even though Baker Park had lost to Sylestone 9-5, they were still a powerful force to be reckoned with, their 16-4 destruction of Nyowani Kitara showed that.

The first quarter was surprisingly relatively equal among the two sides, Reg Huhn and the Jovannic Defence did well to keep Baker Park at bay. Although Howard Lim continued his great form, scoring trice and assisting once in just the first half alone, the rest of the attacking team looked blunt and did not manage to pull off their usual hyperagressive attacks. Even so, The Jovannic led at the end of the second quarter with a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, the team from Baker Park proved to be more resilient and was definitely much more experienced, and the second half was quite lopsided on their favour. The whole team, especially the frontal four looked exhausted coming into the final minutes, and although Rilie Ritegen and Jovan Swansee injected some young energy into the team and scored some beautiful last minute points, it was too little too late.

"We obviously didn't prepare well enough." Usti Guinrti said yesterday in a press conference. "They were a rock solid team, and we just couldn't break through.

Next is Sylestone. Some fans may remember this household name in Jovannican sport. We were rivals in Football and Sylestone even hosted a cricket tour for our then budding cricket team. Unfortunately, The Jovannic took a two year hiatus as we rescinded back into an isolationist policy. Meanwhile Sylestone steadily increased in their rankings, and are now one of the better teams these days. To beat them, we will need to break through their defence quickly and decisively. This will be extremely difficult, Sylestone is 10th seeded and has proven to be a formidable opponent, but we will try.

All Hail The Jovannic!
ALL HAIL THE JOVANNIC!!!

Sporting Achievements:
1st:
2nd:
3rd: 3rd Jenna Raven Cup, Mike Sarzo Memorial Trophy
4th: NS World Cup of Masters I
Semi-finals: IFC1
Honourable Mentions: Olympic Sliver Medal in Football (XIV Olympiad)

Charging forward to return to glory! (II)

MD4 Cutoff

Every matchday, we will provide some prompts together with the cutoff message. These prompts are used as a guide, and will not result in any benefits should you choose to RP based on these prompts.
For MD4, the prompt is as follows: There is always something about the midway point. How has the tournament been thus far? Have they been playing good games with their lacrosse ball and lacrosse stick? Or have they been traveling around this place? South Jeolerina isn't the most fantastic tourist place (that is Hallikshire, really), but the country has some things which people can enjoy. How do they find Jeoleris? Are they good hosts?
(Really, if there is something in the IC info you think we are missing, please go ahead and TG/DM me for more questions.)

MD3: It is time to showcase something about your country. What do people want to do the most when they visit your country? What should they be on the lookout for? Or is there a less well-known culture in your country that you want to show case? This RP can even take the form of a graphic, a postcard, should you have the abilities to do it!

This is also a reminder that tomorrow will be a bye day. Scorinations resume on Thursday.

Edit: The post from Nyowani Kitara was counted for the cutoff.

Background Info on NYK
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

President Boaz Akongo with his children and his aides, landing in Xihaishi to visit Ren Qiang, two months after Part 3

President Akongo was in the air, flying around United Republics controlled airspace to visit his good friend and brother-in-arms, Ren Qiang. The flight itself was not adventurous- in fact, it was one of the most silent flights he had ever been on. His aides were mostly left at home. This was the last part of his plan that he had to put into motion before he could go public with all of the moves he had made a few weeks ago.

It really was insane what he had gone through. He had been diagnosed with cancer. He decided to make his daughter his political heir. There was frustration that, after years without naming a Vice President, suddenly a 17 year old girl was the Vice President. Of course, there was no dissent- no such thing in Nyowani Kitara's political system under the Akongos. But the less than enthusiastic response from NYK's politicians had told President Akongo all that he needed to know. He needed to either get healthy, or spend the rest of his very limited days clearing the path for his daughter, so she could successfully become head of state and party.

It had taken some time to get over to Xihaishi. But here he was. And the visit was with full honors. As he stepped off the plane to the military salute from Yuezhou's freedom fighters against the United Republics, he shook the hand of Ren Qiang and fully embraced him. The two men had a unique relationship between international leaders- almost like brothers. Ren Qiang himself, and members of his top brass, lived in Dewayo for a few years while they fought to turn the tide against the United Republics. Qiang and Akongo were the last Communists in this part of Rushmore- of course they had to support each other.

Akongo had saved Qiang's life and movement. And now- Akongo was about to entrust his own life to Ren Qiang.

Same day, private meeting between President Akongo and Ren Qiang

The two men were meeting just between them, in Ren Qiang's headquarters. An extremely private meeting- anything heard were for the eyes and ears of the two men in the room only. Even Akongo's children were not present for the first part of the meeting, as Akongo wanted to have a direct heart to heart with Ren Qiang about his situation.

"Ren." President Akongo said. "Listen closely. I have received terrible news." Ren Qiang listened attentively. "There is no way to sugarcoat this, so I'm just going to say it flat-out. I have lung cancer."

"You have lung cancer??" Ren Qiang exclaimed. "How is that possible? That's awful! That's absolutely horrific! How did this happen? What are you gonna do?"

"Obviously, this is far from ideal." President Akongo said. "But of course, all men are mortal, and that includes myself. They told me that they do not even feel as if I will see the World Cup 89 Finals, once they reach Tikariot." Ren Qiang was still in shock. "It is terrible. But we are leaders. And my death- well, my death can bring some serious instability to my nation. That can bring Nyowani Kitara into chaos. And can lead our nation towards terrible, civil wars- serious racial tensions could be inflamed, a power vacuum could lead to foreign nations carving us up for spheres of influence. That cannot happen."

"The easiest way to defeat this, is to go two-track. But you know me- we cannot do chemotherapy treatment in Nyowani Kitara." Ren Qiang simply looked puzzled as the President continued. "You know how ambitious these people are around me- any kind of weakness shown, any kind of sickness or lack of resolve, and everything can be lost. They will start sniffing around. My children, my daughter- unless they think I'm at 100% capacity all the time, it puts the entire project at risk and the system at risk of failing into chaos. So I need to receive chemotherapy. And do so abroad- without any of my people knowing, besides the bare minimum(his adult children, Gustav his bodyguard, and a few select others)."

"So here is what I propose. I have a doctor- not one connected to any local politicians, but Dr. Abelsson. A Græntfjaller, yes-" Ren Qiang looked ready to protest as he heard the Doctor's name. "But one that is a true blood Communist. Spoken for by my man, Gustav himself. I come here for a week for chemotherapy, and then 3-4 weeks go back home. Rinse and repeat. We say that I am here for unity visits- to show that communism stands together in the face of the radical capitalistic forces corrupting our part of Rushmore. Some photo ops taken, reviewing plans, troops. I undergo chemo. I try to get healthy. If this goes according to plan, nobody at home will ever find out I'm sick."

"But of course- and this is my reality- this may not work." President Akongo said. "This is a massive ask, but I know your people can keep a secret. But unfortunately- I may die. Cancer's like that." Ren Qiang simply grimaced as he watched his close friend, Nyowani Kitara's President, speak like this. "In that case, my daughter will take charge. I fear-" and then President Akongo paused. He knew the weight of what he was asking his friend. "I fear that, due to her age, the transition may not go smoothly. She's extremely young, just below 18. She's academically brilliant, and she's got the right instincts, but she doesn't have the connections or the experience."

"I'm going to do my damndest to get her every bit of experience I can before I die, if this cancer kills me." President Akongo. "But she will need support. She'll be besieged on all sides- both foreign and domestic. IF this is the chance I have, can I get your promise that you will do what you can to support her?"

The President, for the first time in his life, had true fear in his eyes. For the first time, the true gravity of the situation weighed before him- he could be gone and his ability to effect events could be gone with them. But Ren Qiang came through. "Of course Boaz." And the two men embraced. At that point, Boaz Akongo brought his children in. His son declared loyalty to his younger sister Nafuna in front of Ren Qiang, and the four spoke briefly.

The President left the meeting feeling up beat and secure. And now- now was the time, when he got back to Dewayo, to announce his plans to the world...

When your team is defending a championship, it will have a target on its back and will get the best shots of any team they face. It's almost impossible for a defending champion to go about their business quietly.

However, that's exactly what the Sarzonian national lacrosse team have been doing in this 38th edition of the World Lacrosse Championships. Manager Jordan Helms has overseen his team getting off to a 4-0 start after its latest victory, a 25-9 triumph over Har Yarok that saw the Stars slip in just behind Banija for the most goals scored in the tournament. Banija and fellow Group D team The Cordian Isles are the only undefeated teams remaining in the current World Lacrosse Championships.

The Stars defeated Tropicorp in the opener 13-5 before edging Ranoria 12-9 in a match that was much closer than Helms or defensive coordinator Makeeyah Brantley expected. Their 11-9 win over Cassadaigua was expected, however.

"Cassadaigua are one of the traditional powers in sport," Helms said. "Essentially regardless of sport, they're always a team to beat. We're very fortunate to have come out of that one with a victory."

As for the Ranoria result, Helms said he was disappointed his team "took the bait" from the aggressive Krauts who attempted to goad the Stars players into fights on multiple occasions."

"We pride ourselves in letting the scoreboard do the talking," he said. "The best rejoinder against a team that tries to intimidate you is to beat them." The three ejections of Sarzonian players left the team thin defensively since the players were automatically suspended per Sarzonian sporting rules, but you largely wouldn't have known it from the dominating show against Har Yarok. However, Brantley said the lack of depth was telling.

"We have our usual players in there, we probably hold them to five," she said of Har Yarok."

The Stars will get another Anaia v. Atlantian Oceania matchup when they face Quebec and Shingoryeo, who improved to 2-2 with a 9-4 defeat of Beaverriver. Sarzonia will not get its crack at The Cordian Isles until the last matchday of the group stage.

By then, will it be a battle of the undefeateds?

"Too early to tell," Helms said. "Right now, we're focused on Quebec and Shingoryeo and working on getting that victory."

24 people in a bus. Grim looking Orcs, playing some sort of “Hit me”-Game, partying Humans, curious at the landscape looking Xvarts, Zombies playing cards and Harry Gummibear with the medical of the team, Witchdoctor Dolores, at the front.

„After the victory against Venmere they deserved this tour“, Harry said, smiling.

„Oh, that was thougt as reward?“, scoffed Gale Astarion.

“I am sorry I forgot to get a new driver, but one had to do the job. And you know how reckless they are here with drunk driving.”
“Our last driver knows it, now. You could have done it, you are the morale officer. The trip was your idea.”

“I think drawing straws was a fair thing.”

Gale grumbled. They had been in the two best known clubs and he hadn’t been able to drink one thing. And then his purse had been stolen at the park. He hoped they would catch the thief and that he would experience the full nastiness of the local justice system.

“How was it for you?”, Harry asked Shadowheart, who was sitting behind him, with a pale face.

“Great. But I think I shouldn’t have taken the Roller Coaster in the amusement park, after the drinking. And the food they sold there. So tasty. Ohhh”, she snatched a bag.

“I love park”, said Zilfix, one of the Xvarts, nibbling at a local sweet, with a Teddy sitting alongside him who had more than twice his size.

“The tunnel of horror was great. When the other people found out that we weren’t part of the show. Wahaha”, laughed Guy Hirn, one of the Zombies with a rather dark attitude.

“I think the trip was a good idea. Overall”, said Harry, trying to ignore Galen angry honking at another car.

“We will see. Two days with a hangover. One day that could end bad and shift the plus for the morale to the negative side of being exhausted”, Dolores said.

“We have you for curing the side effects, don’t we?”, said Harry.

“I am not a magician to counter the flaws of your ideas”, Dolores answered.

“For Northwest Kalactin it should be always enough.”

“And arrogance helps a lot to fail.”

Galen jammed on the brakes when they reached the hotel so that half of the occupants of the bus hurtled through the air.

Four Games in- So Far, So Good as Banija sits at 4-0

SOUTH JEOLERINA- We can skip over the usual intro every time we talk about the World Lacrosse Championships. We know the angst that we get every single time we take the turf at a tournament like this, and we know why we do it. Let's skip all that and talk about the actual tournament at hand. How is it going so far? We're just past the halfway point of the group stages, how are we looking? How are we playing?

The answer, of course, is pretty damn well. We're one of two teams that remain undefeated, as we join our archrivals and the defending champions, Sarzonia, at 4-0. The Cordian Isles, also surprisingly, sit at 4-0 as well. "The record speaks for itself- we are sitting pretty here at 4-0." Head Coach Allen Budaye told reporters. "Nothing is promised or guaranteed- hell, I would argue that our last two games of the group stages, against second place Venmere and against a Bollonich squad that beat us just three years ago at WLC 37, are our toughest games of this whole group. But the only thing you can do is play whoever is on your schedule. And we've played extremely well. We've done a good job getting off to fast starts, taking control of games, and controlling the pace and flow of matches."

Coach Budaye's analysis is indeed correct. Banija had a tough matchup for Matchday 3, taking on the 9th ranked team in the multiverse, who is Kriegiersien. Despite that, nothing changed about Banija's approach. For once, the team did not blitz off to a fast start. It was back and forth at the start of the game, as Kriegiersien tried to show that they could match us, point for point and stride for stride. We led 4-3 after the first quarter, and at halftime, the scores were level at 8. But we came out flying in the second half. We outscored them 6-0 in the third quarter, putting on a masterclass of how to control possesion, how to defend, and simply for a quarter, just smothering Kriegiersien. They simply could not get off their shots at their preferred angles, and that basically closed the game down. We outscored them by a total of 10-2 in the second half, and thoroughly earned that 18-10 victory.

Following that test, we played an old regional rival in Northwest Kalactin. Same story as our first two games- fly out to a fast start, control and slow down the pace of the game, and dictate its flow. Up 4-0 after one and 6-1 at halftime, it was always going to be hard for the Kalactanians to come back. They could not generate much offense, and our defense was dominant in holding them to only five goals. So on the field, yes- it's all peachy. And in the race for that #1 seed, the goal differential is in a good spot right now. "Budaye doesn't worry himself about goal differential." Said a TV analyst for Banijan lacrosse. "He's all about controlling things you can control. Win your games, win your group, and the seeding will take care of itself. He surely wants to be on the opposite side of the bracket from Sarzonia, but otherwise, he knows that you've got to beat a series of good teams to make a deep run at the WLCs. So he doesn't care whether Banija's a 1, 2, 3, or 4 seed- just that we are a top 4 seed, and that we can avoid Sarzonia early on in the knockouts."

Banija open as massive favorites for their Matchday 5 game against the Kytler Peninsulae, although all eyes seem to be on Bollonich for Matchday 6. "Our re-match against Bollonich has been circled on our calendars ever since it was announced." Karaobo Ogoo told reporters, a starting defender on the team. "We remember that game very well. We're not overlooking Kytler, but Bollonich is a huge game for us. As we strive to reach the mountaintop in this sport, we need to win those type of games, against technically sound opposition like Bollonich." A few other players mentioned Bollonich as well, who the team plays in two days. How epic of a matchup will that be?

The end game for this group is coming. Can Banija do what it takes to stay up top? Or will a team like Bollonich or Venmere do enough to knock us off our perch, and derail our chase for a trophy?

HAWTHORNS MOVE INTO THIRD PLACE WITH WINS OVER MURDERBUM, THE JOVANNIC

DONBESTER, SOUTH JEOLERINA - Following a shock 9-5 victory over the fourth-ranked Baker Park, the Hawthorns have continued to shit the bed against lowly-ranked sides, with Murderbum and The Jovannic both challenging Sylestone right until the very end of their respective matches. However, unlike in previous editions of the World Lacrosse Championships, the Hawthorns were good enough to come out with two points on both accounts to climb into third place in Group C, only behind Kohnhead on 7 points and equal with Baker Park on six, albeit with the Atlantian Oceanian side having a better goal difference despite the Hawthorns’ victory over them.

After only conceding twelve goals across their opening two games against Kohnhead and Baker Park, the Hawthorns’ defence suffered a total of six goals against them in the first quarter alone against the Bums of Murderbum, where each played had the surname of “Bum”. Which was probably why Hayley Myers and Nathan Dammer were both found chuckling at various points within that quarter, probably because Sylestoneans are naturally children. Anyway, the Bums took a 6-5 lead after the first fifteen, setting the tone for what would end up being an absolute goalfest.

The Hawthorns took the advantage in the second quarter, scoring five goals to two to put the Esportivans 11-9 up with 30 minutes to go. Yet, despite the odds mounting against them, the Bums continued to fight, scoring four goals to Sylestone’s seven in the third, doing their best despite the Hawthorns continuing to impress with their determined offensives. But at 18-13 down with a quarter to go, Sylestone were in the lead, and had fully deserved it, too.

The final scoreline was 24-15, with the Hawthorns able to drive home the advantage with consistent goals throughout the entire game. At no point did they drop below five goals a quarter, with a maximum of seven in the third. It was a dominant display from the attack line, although their defence certainly required a fair bit of work.

Against The Jovannic, the Hawthorns took an early 3-0 lead within eight minutes, asserting their dominance over old cricket and football foes. The two sides had never played a game of lacrosse, though, and following a hiatus from the Jovannicans, this was Sylestone’s best chance to ensure they became the better side of the two. And with the Atlantian Oceanians being on the back foot for the entire first half, it appeared thus.

Yet, the Jovannicans fought back. They equalised with seconds to spare in the second quarter, turning a 3-0 deficit after the opening fifteen minutes into a 4-4 deadlock with half the game gone. The Hawthorns were once again choking against a weaker side.

The Jovannic continued to punch above their weight in the third quarter, with two goals to each side keeping the deadlock present by the time the game went into the final 15 minutes. Every fan in the stadium was glued to their seat, for this was a final quarter no lacrosse fan in the multiverse would want to miss. Could the Hawthorns take it out?

Yes, they could. The Jovannic fought hard and were even 8-7 up with six minutes remaining, but two goals to Isabella Collingwood following a pair of mistakes from defender Red Huhn left Junivert Kaiyt with zero chance of stopping the resulting shot. It had been a brilliant game, but the Hawthorns had taken the game out by a solitary goal to move into third place in Group C.

Now, a pair of wins over the final three opponents in Isle Noire, Praxedes and Nyowani Kitara should be sufficient to ensure an automatic entry into the round of 16. Can they do it?

You might think that gods would have better things to do than play lacrosse. In fact, they have a lot of better things to do, especially now when climate change is threatening many of their creations. But everyone needs to take a break and have some fun now and then.

And the Hermit Crabs were having fun. They felt like they had improved since last year, and that was a good feeling. They had won 3 of their first 4 games, the only loss a close-fought game against HUElavia. Unlike last year, nobody was sitting there waving their claws stupidly while the ball bounced off their shells.

Between games, they were careful not to get picked up by local kids looking for a cute pet. After an awkward experience last year, they had learned their lesson to be more careful where they went. When they did go out and about in public places, they would stay bulked up to a large enough size so they could not be mistaken for ordinary mortal crabs. They still got a lot of attention from curious children -- but it was mostly kids wanting to climb on their shells or families wanting to take pictures of their kids together with the crab gods. They didn't mind that sort of attention. They just didn't want to get scooped up and plopped in a box while some kid begged his parents, "Can I keep it? Can I keep it? Can I keep it?"

Group lead up for grabs against Lax Brains
by Lee Throckmorton, National Reporter

The Commonwealth National Lacrosse Team will face off against Kohnhead for bragging rights in Group C on matchday five here at the WLC in South Jeolerina, the first of a pair of matches to be played at Moose Center in the capital.

The Brains, ranked 8th, have a single point advantage over BP and Sylestone as a result of the point they gained in an overtime defeat to fourth place Murderbum, who will be next up on the schedule; the top 3 teams from the four pools will advance to the round of 16 with the fourth & fifth places sides playing off for the final four spots.

Coach Mark Ellis has been satisfied with the performance in wins over The Jovannic & Praxedes, but stressed the defense will need to be the catalyst against a stingy Brains team that are joint leaders in goals against thus far.

"I think we'll need to match their intensity in our own half, making sure not to give away cheap penalties that will open the door for them get good looks. In a wide open game I think we pull away, but they are very disciplined and certainly have the talent to punish us for silly errors."

A win atlast, a strong comeback on the cards

We had high hopes for the lacrosse side in the WLC as we were coming in with a very high amount of confidence. Being ranked within the top 15 we knew we have what it takes to be at the top of the world and that was the same that was expected of the players. After a good start to the tournament against the Kytler Peninsulae we were immensely caught out and outplayed by Kriegiersien. Going into our game against Venmere however, we had a lot of confidence in our abilities, in our abilities to dispatch a team like Venmere. The match however went vastly different to how we would’ve hoped as Venmere took an early lead and similar to our loss against Kriegiersien we could just never catch back up. We had once again been a prey of our own over-confidence and now things were looking tough for us as we were in sixth position, not even in a qualifying position heading into our match against Melbergia who had already won two games out of three.
We weren’t sure what to expect as speaking before the match Bárta said, “The loss against Venmere was certainly a shock, however looking back at what’s happened will not help us. We need to look towards the four matches in front of us and try to win all of those matches to go into the round of 16 with a good record. Our main competitors for the Group was supposed to be Banija who’ve carried out their job much better than we have as they have a spotless record. Melbergia our next opponents have done a formidable task so far. We are looking forward to this match.”
What we knew however was that we needed to win, and the boys started like they meant it as we took a 3-1 lead in the first quarter with the defense looking very strong under the leadership of Ottó. The defense and attack in unison managed to lead us to crucial victory crushing Melbergia in spectacular fashion as we won 11-3 with a positive eight goal difference. This was a crucial victory for us following the disappointment of our losses against Venmere and Kriegiersien. Looking ahead we face Natanians and Nosts who’ve done very well so far performing above their seeding very much similar to Venmere. It is crucial that we don’t let down our guard for the upcoming games and record comfortable wins and pull off a comeback to have a favourable draw in the knockouts which we just make given our current position in the group.

Disheartening defeat to Sylestone: The Jovannic left with tough hill to climb

There was further agony in the Jovannican Lacrosse team as they were pipped to a 9-8 defeat to Sylestone. Sylestone came into the first quarter all guns blazing, going 3-0 up in the first quarter. It seemed that we had lost from the very start. Fortunately, The Jovannic managed to bounce back, scoring four goals off the bat in the second quarter to tie it up 4-4 at the end of the first half. Both teams were in a deadlock, each had their chances and both failed to successfully pull away from the other. Unfortunately, it was not to be for the Jovannican side as dreadful mistakes by Reg Huhn lost the game in its dying moments.

"We were just unlucky today." Team fitness lead Josh Ng said yesterday. "Both teams had great chances at securing a victory. We will come back from this stronger."

Reports coming in from South Jeolerina suggests that Nicholas Asereren will replace Reg Huhn and Ji Fung Hao replacing Chitar Muses, as well as Jovan Swansee getting his first start, replacing Jukisaw Rong.

We will face Praxedes in the next match. They have just come off of a 8-12 defeat, but it was to 4th ranked Baker Park. If we are to achieve an automatic qualification spot, we will have to go back to winning ways.

MD5 Cutoff

Every matchday, we will provide some prompts together with the cutoff message. These prompts are used as a guide, and will not result in any benefits should you choose to RP based on these prompts.
For MD5, the prompt is as follows: Rivals. Do you have a nation you consider as a rival? It could be a nation where "we will do better than you" applies, a nation your people don't want to see lifting the final trophy. How did this rivalry come about? Historical baggage? Current relations? Neighbours in your region? Record in other sports? Or even, from past WLC experience?
If you don't have a rival as your nation, think about some of the rivalries in your team. Do such things exist? Are there people who would constantly compete with each other?

MD1: Introduce your team! Talk about your nation's history with lacrosse, domestically, internationally. Your team's targets. Introduce some of the stars of your team here in South Jeolerina.
MD2: When the country's athletes come out to play, how does the country support the players? Maybe you can share some information about the fans and how they will show their support their national team at every big tournament.
MD3: It is time to showcase something about your country. What do people want to do the most when they visit your country? What should they be on the lookout for? Or is there a less well-known culture in your country that you want to show case? This RP can even take the form of a graphic, a postcard, should you have the abilities to do it!
MD4: There is always something about the midway point.

The Kitara People's Free Press
The voice for the working people of Nyowani Kitara

President Akongo announces that he will go on monthly "friendship visits" to Xilindao to show support for the workers cause against the "Usurper" United Republics Government

DEWAYO, NYOWANI KITARA- There has been a large amount of news recently to come out of the Kitara Progressive Workers Coalition, the leading light of the revolution. Under the guidance of President Boaz Akongo, who is the Guardian of the Revolution. Moves made to "ensure the stability of our great workers republic", and "insulate it from the radically pro-capitalist forces that are currently sweeping through the region."

The biggest news today is that President Akongo has announced that he will go on monthly "friendship visits" to Xilindao, to visit and strategize with Ren Qiang against the usurpers who presently control most of modern-day Yuezhou territory. "Yuezhou's legitimate government is, unfortunately, sitting on the outside looking in as a temporary setback." A spokesman for the President said. "But Ren Qiang is continuing the fight- he is fighting for his people, to free them from the oppression of foreign businessmen in nice suits. Already, the country is being sold off to the highest bidder. There are two communist nations left in this part of the world when there used to be many, and it is imperative that we support each other and stand strong until the great tide of history turns towards us."

The President confirmed that with his personal visits, he will be looking to increase support for Ren Qiang's government. He said that Nyowani Kitara "remains firmly opposed" to recognition of the illegitimate government of the United Republics, and encouraged NYK's neighbors to withdraw recognition. "It isn't too late to turn out for what will be the right side of history." The Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "Eventually, Ren Qiang will take back over, and they will once again have a government of, by, and for the people of Yuezhou. We will always back up Ren Qiang."

The other news, of course, is the appointment of his daughter, Nafuna, as Vice President of the nation and as the Deputy Chairwoman of both the Politburo and the People's Defense Commission. "Nafuna will have many years to learn under the watchful eye of her father, Boaz." A party spokesman said. "While young, picking her now while the President is in the greatest of health is beneficial for both her and her country. It ensures the stability of succession in many years, as she will have time to grow acceptance from the people, who understand that the Akongo family are the legitimate successors of the revolution in this country."

Nafuna is expected to go on a tour of the country, where thousands upon thousands of adoring fans will greet her in every city. "The people love the Akongos, and we will love Nafuna like we loved Boaz!" One woman on the street told a reporter. "The Akongos have always looked out for the little guy- stamped out corruption, successfully prevented foreigners from causing secreterian conflict in this nation, and has always treated everybody like humans. Life has never been better anywhere than it is in Rushmore right now."

Other News
- Nyowani Kitara is 2-2 so far at the World Lacrosse Championships, having won its 2nd and third games at the tournament. The team is "scrappily fighting its way towards the knockouts", according to the head coach, although success is far from guaranteed. They've lost twice to top 10 opponents, in Baker Park and Kohnhead, and beaten two teams ranked lower than them. Nyowani Kitara's next two matches are against unranked squads, considered 'must wins' by Coach Schaufelberger. "It's imperative that we win these next two matches. If we're 4-2 going into the Sylestone game, we will clinch a berth in the knockouts with a game to spare. But if we're .500? That puts us in a whole that we don't want to be in." Thanks to tiebreakers, if NYK defeats both Murderbum and Isle Noire on Matchdays 5 and 6, respectively, that will be enough to clinch a top 4 spot in the group regardless of what happens on Matchday 7 against Sylestone.
- Murderbum, NYK's next opponent, is also 2-2, which makes this a big game for the tiebreakers as the group sorts itself out. "Their offense has been much more impressive than ours so far, scoring 46 goals over 4 games compared to ours only scoring 34." One of our TV analysts said. "However, their defense is much worse, conceding a group worst 55 goals through just four games. It should be an up-tempo game, but hopefully we can punish their lack of defensive talent and get back above .500."

Deciding not to edit a post made many hours ago, I will post the results in a separate thread. But first, on the domino's effect of this delay:

1) I will be moving the cutoff window slightly forward by another half hour. That means from MD6, cutoffs will be done at 11am-12noon UTC. This will be 7-8am Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4), 1-2pm British Summer Time (UTC+1), or 9-10pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10)

2) I am having slight changes to the bye dates and the final date of scorination to deal with problems in my RL schedule, and to give more time given that multiple competitions are running in strict parallel. As such, from Group Stage MD6, the following schedule will be adopted:

11th Sept (Sat) - Group Stage MD6
12th Sept (Sun) - Group Stage MD7
48 hours break
14th Sept (Tue) - Round of 20/Play-in Round
15th Sept (Wed) - Round of 16
16th Sept (Thur) - Quarterfinals
48 hours break
18th Sept (Sat) - Semifinals
19th Sept (Sun) - Finals/Bronze Medal Match
Note the additional break on 17th Sept, as well as the creation of the cutoffs on the 18th and the 19th. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to your Roleplaying plans.

“I really don’t want to make too much pressure, guys, but Melbergia are a bunch of amateurs who play this sport in their free time. We are all professionals…”

“I am no professor, I work as hunter”, Wilzu threw in.

“Yeah, some of you have hobbies, but we all play this sport as much as possible. We make the most money with it. That is professionalism. And Melbergia are not our level, so we have to go out and beat them. They are no opponent for us!”, shouted Brian.

“If they are not an opponent, who is?”, asked Warok.

“Good question. The nations that Kriegiersien has the most rivalry in sports...what are our … I am from Zombiestan, who are Kriegiersiens biggest rivals?”, Brian looked at Harry.

“I guess Sarzonia, Banija, the ones who are fighting for the title and we meet in competitions all over the world in many sports. HUElavia in soccer. Abanhfleft and Quebec everywhere else. But that is not the point! You are better. Much better. And now you will go out and trash these guys. No mercy! Ahooo!”, screamed Harry.

A loud ‘Ahooo’ came back and the rest of the team stormed out of the changing room on the field, Chieftain Umbalumba slowly as last, lighting up a pipe.

Only Harry and Brian stood back.

“I wanted to say the Ahooo”, Brian said sadly.
“Yeah, but you really have to work on your pep talk. Maybe you stay with tactic and I try the speeches before the match.”

The matchup against Quebec and Shingoryeo figured to have intrigue whether world events were involved or not.

The match lived up to the billing lacrosse-wise as the Sarzonian national lacrosse team continued its undefeated ways with a 9-6 triumph to officially punch their tickets to the knockout stages. In fact, Sarzonia became the first team to automatically clinch a spot directly into the Round of 16 as The Cordian Isles dropped from the ranks of the unbeaten with an 8-6 defeat to Beaverriver.

Don't expect Sarzonia manager Jordan Helms to take his foot off the gas.

"We've got loftier goals than winning a spot in the knockout rounds," Helms said. "We've got loftier goals than qualifying directly for the Round of 16." As the manager of one of only two teams with six World Lacrosse Championships, the loftier goal was obvious to anyone in the room, but he decided to make clear what they were.

"Our goal is to repeat as champions," he said. "We want to be the first team to win seven." It would also mark the first time the onetime most successful lacrosse-playing country in the multiverse had never accomplished in their long history, as even the Harold Price-led Stars never won back-to-back titles. The closest the team came to that feat was a third place finish in the fourth edition sandwiched between two titles in the third and fifth editions, respectively. The Stars also won the eighth edition and lost to Mytannion in the finals of the ninth.

However, goalie Matt Henning said history was "the furthest thing" from the team's mind.

"We're only thinking about what we're doing right now," he said. "When this championship is over, that's when we can start thinking about things in context."

The temptation may be to see what the team's rivals are doing, but Helms said his side are completely focused on the task at hand, which is to ensure that Sarzonia wins the matches they play and force the other teams to think about the Stars. Still, some scoreboard watching and tables reading can happen among the fans. Those fans will see multi-sport archrivals Banija also undefeated at 5-0, but with a higher goal differential than the Stars have (39 to 32). They will see former champions Abanhfleft, the team the Stars trounced in the previous WLC final 27-10 sitting with a 3-2 record in Group A, one match behind Taxonomic Kingdoms and HUElavia, another rival. They will see Delaclava, another multi-sport archrival struggling at 2-3. As for another multi-sport rival, Baker Park sit at 4-1, leading Sylestone by goal differential in Group C.

For the Stars, matches against Beaverriver, currently ahead of the race for the third guaranteed spot in the Round of 16 from Group D, and The Cordian Isles, who have still clinched a spot in at least the Round of 20 despite their loss, await. Attack Colin Grassley said the team would still fight "like crazy" against the teams remaining in the group stage.

"We don't want to let up because you can't just turn off and turn on the intensity. It just can't happen," he said. "We're gonna go for the jugular. That's what Sarzonian lacrosse is all about."

Kabaka- King
Isebantu- Crown Prince
Omugabe/Omugabe- Prince/Princess
Katikkiro- Prime Minister
Lukiiko- Parliament
Political Parties
People's Protection Movement/PPM- center-right, senior coalition partner.
Latter-Day Alliance/LDA- Mormon religious/nationalist right, junior coalition partner. Formerly the Christian Patriots League
Free Justice Party/FJP- center-left, by far the smallest of the four major parties
Collective Resistance Union/CRU- left, official opposition

Proceedings at the Lukiiko, Ministerial Statements before Question Time

"Will The Katikkiro take the floor!" The Speaker of the House yelled, and banged his gavel. The 500 member body was packed to the gallery, as election season was certainly to be soon upon them. Question times at this point could be used to help frame the debate, as Kobe Azizi would eventually face the electorate for a third term, or Xolile Lubabalo would lead the CRU to dethrone him and put the left back in power in Banija, and put a woman as Katikkiro for the first time in national history.

"I will have ORDER!" The Speaker yelled, as the members of the backbenches for the PPM stopped cheering. The Katikkiro, Kobe Azizi, strode up to the speaker's podium on the government benches in the center of the chamber. He took a deep breath. The ministerial statement he usually made before Question Time were about the Government's priorities for the next upcoming couple of weeks, or whatever initiatives that he was proud of. But he had to make a last second change to his speech. Only a couple of people within his own cabinet knew. He didn't have his phone out, but he doubt that the news had been leaked to anybody. He had only just barely gotten a note out to the Palace, who got notes to Swede Johanssen(the Baker Park Ambassador to Banija), as well as placing calls directly to Canterlot, Belle Haven, and Lakiska.

He looked down at his notes, and then began speaking. "Esteemed members of the Lukiiko." He began. "The first thing that I would like to do, is congratulate team Banija at the Bunjil Olympic Games for a record haul for this country!" And the Lukiiko clapped loudly. The politicians in the country were just as sports-crazed as the rest of the nation, to probably an unhealthy degree. But, life went on. "Record amount of gold medals, silver medals, and total medals for one games- 7, 10, and 23 total respectively. It was one hell of a games. Banija continues to show that, given time, we are capable of competing with anybody at any sport, and that Banijans are proud to compete for their country." The mood in the chamber was jolly.

"But, I have much more somber news to bear." Was somber the right word? He wasn't sure, but it got the intended effect he wanted from the Chamber- anticipated silence. "Matthias Mutebi, a former Katikkiro, tyrant, and warlord, who has been under house arrest since(ooc note: World Cup 80) for his crimes against the people of Banija, Busoga, and Equestria, has been pronounced dead at age 93 in his home." The sounds of shock echoed through the Chamber. News organizations, of course, were all teased of a major announcement, but nobody expected this.

"He has died of a heart attack. Matthias Mutebi lived a life that goes counter to the values our country has held since independence, and his death serves as a relief to many on not just across Banija, but Atlantian Oceania. His term was a reign of terror, as he brought violence and discrimination upon everybody, from Busogans to Equestrians to Baker Parkers, and everybody in between. He launched one of the most recent major wars in Atlantian Oceania, and one that saw catastrophic humanitarian consequences. But Banija preaches respect and forgiveness. While we cannot disgrace ourselves by honoring his name, he will be given his last burial rites, in a private ceremony for immediately family. Only God can save his soul."

"There will be no memorial. He cannot be buried. His ashes will be cremated, and spread at an undisclosed location within Banija. We will not allow his body to serve as a memorial. But let us remember that time for what it was. Not for the dark times- but how Banija roses from the ashes in one of our darkest days, to become a leading nation, both diplomatically and economically, within our region and beyond. If we can recover from the rule of a man as dark as Matthias Mutebi, there is no challenge that can stop us now."

The applause was thunderous. The Katikkiro also gave special thanks to Baker Park for their alliance, formed during those troubled times against Matthias Mutebi, and how Belle Haven had always stood by the people of the Kingdom even through the darkest of nights. Xolile Lubablo, famously justice minister when Matthias Mutebi's sentence came up for parole all those years ago, had an off the cuff statement about Mutebi's victims should be remembered on this day, rather than the man himself. She suggested that communities mark the occasion by holding vigils for his victims, including the ensuing victims of the Banijan-Equestrian War.

Two days after above announcement, LDA Headquarters

The leader of the Latter-Day Alliance, who was also the Deputy Katikkiro, was talking to his press secretary. "Hey, have you seen the news?" She told him. "The news from Nova Anglicana?"

"What news?" He said.

"Oh, they've gone ahead and formed a true right-wing party over there." She said. "The Christian Patriotic Vanguard. They actually, you know- are a legitimate right-wing party. Not controlled by big business and all of that bullshit. They want to end the scourge of abortion in their country, which is unfortunately widely legal and available in the vast majority of countries. They want Christian based governance, aka governance by the holy book, which is a good thing for their country."

"You know, we should declare our support for them." The party's leader said. "The movement must support each other across borders- God's law is God's law for all of his followers, no matter what country they are from. And hey, if they can win- why can't we overtake the mother freaking PPM one day?"

LDA Press Release- in support of our Nova Anglican brothers, the Christian Patriotic Vanguard

"People deride our party as an extreme, as a party of yesteryear, as a party of all kinds of things. But we are the people who stand up- for God-fearing, Christian, Latter-Day Saints to have a country that reflects our values. That understands and honors what it means to be Banijan. To understand that what God has written in his book is not just for our private lives, but for the benefit of humanity as a whole, and for all of our souls. Fortunately, we live in a country with founders that understood that, and protections for the Puritan Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are written into our Constitution.

But as we have moved forward economically as a society, it is of further imperative that we work to protect and maintain those values. If we continue to secularize like the rest of the outside world- what will that mean? Legalized abortions? A republic? Not a chance. That's why a vote for the LDA is the only vote that will protect our values. And that's why we look to support our brothers abroad who share our values. The Christian Patriotic Vanguard has those values. Nova Anglicana has secularized more than Banija have, but these courageous Crusaders will save their country and honor God.

Offer your prayers and support for the CPV. Their election will push against secularization, and will be the first of many momentum swinging victories that kill the tide of secularism, and restore the beauties of both Christianity and Patriotism as positive values.

General Vilhelm Lidstrom and Port Viljan Mayor Max Ulf, a few days after the events in Part 5

"Is it true, then?" The Port Viljan Mayor, Max Ulf, asked Vilhelm Lidstrom. "Is the President really going to demand that we follow his seventeen year old daughter as Vice President? There's not a single qualified person outside of the Akongo family?"

"I guess not." General Lidstrom said. Both men were longtime friends from childhood, and both in their 50s. They had both joined the Army when protests had started up just over 3 decades ago, and General Zelotes Akongo couped the government, killed the former President, and defeated the "democrats" who wanted to bring capitalism to the state. They were in their lower 20s, and enthused with views that Communism and leftism was the only way to make progress in their country.

Of course, the two men had become quickly disillusioned. Not necessarily with leftism- but with the government under the Akongos. The KPWC, it was clear to them, did not care much about its ideology or the people- ever since the first General Akongo had came to power, he had simply used the power of the state for his own personal benefit. Enrich himself, his family, and his cousins. Sow constant fear and division into the populace. Not the type of country either wanted to put themselves on the lines for.

But both men felt that they could better change the system from the inside, rather than outside of it- where the only thing they'd get by opposing the Akongos is the sweet release of death. So both men stayed within the system, and started to rise up. General Lidstrom, after 30 years, had earned himself a seat on the Central Military Commission of the Kitara Progressive Worker's Coalition, even if he was not a member of the actual Politburo. Max Ulf, on the other hand, had moved into civilian life. After serving for a while in the legislature, he had just recently been selected by party elites in Dewayo to become the Mayor of Port Viljan- NYK's largest majority-white city(65% Osterlander, 5% Nordlander, 25% Kitaran).

"Have you met her?" Mayor Ulf asked the General.

"I have." The General said. "She's actually quite smart, but look- that's besides the point. Here's the question. Why would he announce a successor now at all?" He said. "He's always said that he doesn't want succession discussions to 'distract' from the task at hand. Did he suddenly find his mortality?"

"You know, I've heard rumors that... Something's off about him." The Mayor said.

"What do you mean?" Said the General.

"I don't know- I'm not in Dewayo." The Mayor responded. "I'm not really privy to anything juicy. But look- suddenly naming a teenager his successor? Suddenly jumping off to monthly visits to Yuezhou? What foreign leader have you heard of who makes visits every single year to visit the same ally?" The General simply stared at him while the Mayor continued. "Something's gotta be up. I have no idea what. But this is way out of character and off base for the President."

"Think he's sick?" The General asked.

"No way." Max Ulf said. "Maybe he's likely to expend huge amounts of resources to helping Ren Qiang take the mainland back in Yuezhou? Have you heard any sort of rumors about military deployments, or anything like that?"

"None at all." General Lidstrom said. "I'm on the Central Military Commission for the party, remember- I'd have heard something."

"Keep an eye open." Max Ulf said. "Or an ear open. Things may be moving quickly beneath our feet. We need to be able to respond."

"Are you saying-" The General started before he was cut off.

"I am saying nothing at all. But keep your contacts, General." Mayor Ulf said. "We may need them for future use."

Malik Akongo, son of President Boaz Akongo, approximately two weeks after the events in Part 5

Malik Akongo had been absolutely sick of the disrespect. He had been in front of every single Communist official over the past few weeks, pledging allegiance to his sister under the watchful eyes of his father.

He was the older sibling. He was an actual adult- his sister was a god damn adolescent. So while he sat watching NYK lacrosse against Murderbum at the World Lacrosse Championships, he was stewing, seeing how he could get his Dad to change his mind.

Unfortunately, that was the thing- getting President Akongo to change his mind was almost impossible. There was nothing like Boaz after he made a decision. He wouldn't change his mind, he couldn't be persuaded, and once a plan was in motion, he would see it through- no matter how disastrous it was. Malik had ever doubted that his father had ever heard the phrase, "cut your losses".

But was he going to sit around, watch his father live for two years, and watch his younger, teenage sister, take the reigns of the state? Absolutely not. Communism, in his mind, was an idiotic system anyways.

What system should replace it? He wasn't sure. But you know what he was sure of? That his sister had to be stopped. He knew he'd have to work on himself- sober up. Either prove himself to his Dad or, if the worst happened, prove himself to the greater populace.

Fortunately, in Malik's days of going out and partying, he had met a number of underground groups. He didn't have many friends within the political establishment, but he had plenty of friends outside the establishment. Why not hang out with them more? He could use support, of course, from anywhere he'd get it.

It'd be a long-term plan. But he was not going to sit around and be shown up, every single day, by his teenage sister for the rest of his god-damn life. His Dad would have no choice but to make him the new Vice President- or if his Dad died, his sister would have to resign and give Malik the Office. He made a decision- the partying days were over, starting today. Or tomorrow- he had a few pre-rolled blunts that he had left.

He was determined that he would etch the name, Malik Akongo, in history.
English pronunciation- "New Chee-tar-ah"
