"There's the Dorians. Hah, ten foot-mobiles and an armored car. What are they even expecting, a light Sunday drive out in the bush?' The grizzled former private forces soldier grinned as he observed a Guadalupadorian Army checkpoint being set up from the safety of the tall grasses of the savanna. "Alright, troops you all know the plan, yeah?" He asked his troops. His squad of Dahlsander boys aged from as young as 12 to 16 nodded and slowly fanned out in teams of two through the grass toward the Guadalupadorian position. "Schulmann, you're with me." The commander gruffly ordered the 14-year-old to tag along with him, they'd be the closest to the checkpoint. Peter gulped and nodded. "Don't worry Schulmann, we'll all get out of this in one piece. We're gonna catch these fuckers by surprise." Peter continued to nod, not uttering a word. The two got as close as 5 meters from the roadside, and trained their sights on the un-knowing foreign soldiers. They could hear them speaking Dorian. Peter picked up some of the words that they could hear the enemy speaking.
Nah.....coffee.....he tried.....the Dahlslanders.....bush....yeah yeah yeah...here..fuckin stupid corporal.......intel...Commander.... One Guadalupadorian Army soldier was busy telling a story to pass the time.
"Got a target picked out?" The commander whispered. Schulmann nodded and aimed his rifle at the soldier leaning on the jersey barrier talking to his comrade.
What...that? Schulmann's target was distracted by what he thought he heard.
Schulmann felt a tap on the shoulder, giving him the signal to open fire. Peter opened fire, the semi-automatic burst from his FAL hitting the soldier in the abdomen. The soldier yelped as he was hit and crumpled over, Peter could hear the other soldiers start yelling
"Fuck!"
Peter shut his eyes and kept firing blindly at the checkpoint. Within a second, Peter could hear the whish of a rocket propelled grenade passing by and scoring a hit on the armored car and the subsequent cracks of semi-auto fire. Peter opened his eyes again and hit the ground as rounds passed over them, shredding the grass above their heads. He stowed his rifle to the side and covered his ears while his commander kept firing at the Dorians. Within several minutes the engagement was over and the checkpoint was cleared of hostiles. "Alright! Come on boys, we're searching for survivors!" The commander slowly rose from his crouching position yelled to his squad. Peter got up alongside him and cautiously followed his leader to the ruined checkpoint. Bodies were strewn across the road, the burning husk of the armored car remained un-moving. Peter walked over to the soldier that he had hit, still bleeding out. He prodded the body with the muzzle of his rifle. The man jolted back into consciousness with a spurt of blood from the mouth. Peter was startled and trained his rifle back onto the man he had shot.
"P-p-please. No. Nicht schuss" The soldier begged in Dorian and broken German fluttering in and out of consciousness.
As the rest of the squad arrived, they checked around and looted the dead Dorians, taking their guns and ammo as well as personal items. All the while Peter watched the man he had hit die in front of him. He felt a hearty pat on the back. "Good hit for a first-timer, you'll get used to it." His commander said watching the soldier alongside Peter. The two watched the soldier beg for another moment. "...Alright, for god's sake, put him out of his misery." Peter shakily rose his FAL and shot the man once more. "Good job. This'll get easier, I can assure you. No quarter for invaders." Peter shut his eyes and he could feel nausea rocking his body.
2200 Hours: Zamunda, Present Day
President Schulmann violently shook himself awake in his airplane seat, sweat rolling down the sides of his face. He breathed heavily trying to regain his composure. Schulmann wiped the sweat off of his face with a nearby towel and surveyed his surroundings in the airplane cabin.
"Mister President are you alright?" Chief of Staff Integwe asked looking back toward the President of Dahlslande from his own seat.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay." the President said in between breaths. "It was just a dream."
"Okay, we'll be touching down in Zamunda in about twenty minutes. In the meantime, I think you've got mail."
Schulmann checked his secure tablet computer for any missives or news from the situation in Bagongo. He read through the reports from Bagongo and the initial reports on Operation Cheetah. The situation had changed drastically over the course of the past 48 hours and would affect any upcoming negotiations and would complicate any joint settlement with one side tipping the scales so decisively. The first and foremost missive came from the Parliament of Mcnernia and granted utmost importance. He read through and had his initial reservations about having a former colonial power intervene in Bagongo, but set aside his concerns for now and would address them within his response.

The situation within the country of Bagongo has, as of last night, deteriorated rapidly and I am currently on my way to the General Assembly to establish an OAC-sanctioned operation to stop the fighting and open up negotiations between FROLIBO and the government. I understand the concern from the Parliament of Mcnernia and we will be willing to be assisted in peacekeeping operations, however I would imagine that some within the OAC would have their reservations on one of Afruika's former colonial powers offering direct military assistance in ceasing conflict within Afruika. We will be willing to set up a correspondence with your parliament to answer any relevant questions as we have several of our own for you.
The parameters of a possible peacekeeping mission are still being hammered out in detail and if the OAC approves of Mcnernian intervention in Bagongo we will share relevant information and intelligence.
The main objective of the OAC is to open channels of negotiations between the Butu and Miyazenga, however with the apparent success of Operation Cheetah, this will complicate matters with my initial thoughts on having any sort of settlement that involves 'status-quo antebellum.' It's clear that the Miyazenga will be able to negotiate from a point of strength if channels open soon; This could be a problem if the Butu see the OAC peace talks as a sort of "surrender," and will refuse to negotiate at all until they can pull off some sort of tactical successes in the field, which at this point, my advisers are saying its unlikely. The inclusion of Mcnernian-led military personnel could also cause other unforseen problems, especially your country's given history in Afruika. It's highly suggested that if Mcnernian units will be serving in Bagongo, that they be put under a central OAC Peacekeeping Command, though I would assume that you would have reservations on that.
