The Arcane Society-Strange

"There will be no killing or conflict of any sorts happening here today." Strange's demand bellowed through the room. His figure, exuding a mystical blue aura as he rose from his seat, silently threatening anyone who'd disobey him. Some sort of dream beast, a hell-lord and an inter-dimension witch, he sighed as he'd realized how things have gotten out of control. "Enough.", he declared as he slammed both his hands onto the long table in front of him.

"Grixia." he greeted, acknowledging her presence. "I'm sure, you've somehow heard whatever we've spoken about. Join us—If you wish to." he relented, Its best to have her on our side than not, he convinced himself. "Same to you two." Strange said as he signalled to the trio to take a seat.

Shimian, already in his human form, nodded, bowing slightly, and sat down, acknowledging that he wished to join them. He looked at each member here, trying to make some sort of mental note about them so he would remember them later. A few moments later he was going over the notes he had taken. Unfortunately, only a few stood out. With time Shimian assumed he would come to know all of them.

The Arcane Society- Strange

Strange meticulously examined his new would-be allies as the proceeded to take their seats. He observed them, reminding that he'd have to deal with them with caution. He knew that each of them must have had their own self-serving intentions but he also understood that their help would be integral in the forth-coming ordeals. Their world has been plagued with countless mystical invasions, and this plague will continue if they remain divided.

With this determination in mind, he rose and declared, "May our otherworldly foes understand that from today henceforth, Earth will be under our protection and that if any of them step a toe out of line, they will be met with a force greater than they can ever imagine.". He extended his arms as he called, " Zatara, John, Doom, Daimon, Diana, Zatara, Grixia, Ivan and Shi-Mian. From today henceforth, all of you are given the responsibility as Earth's Defenders."

Strange glanced quickly at his new members, his eyes squinting as it landed on Ivan. Ivan's expression was strangely sincere, Strange made a mental note to dig further before he finally looked away and declared, "This marks the end of The Arcane's Society's first meeting. I implore that everyone takes an active role in Earth's protection.", Strange leaned back onto his seat as he waited for his fellow members to leave.

Along with Lisa jumping in and stabbing the large dragon, Lucien also rammed it with his own fist, right in the chest. However, the something weird happened. With both of the strikes, the large creature almost immediately collapsed and shattered into multiple pieces, each one falling on the ground and turning into smoke. It's like the dragon was made of something incredibly weak. Like paper mache or something.

"That's odd." Augustin commented as he catched up with the others, who charged in. "I imagined it would be much stronger than that. Or at least not collapse in on itself." What, did the square-cube law suddenly decide to exist in a universe like this? Something was fishy here...

"Yo! Thanks for the help!" The bikers on the ground shouted. Lucien landed on the ground first and ran over to them, shouting:

"Hey, are you alright?"

"Nah, we'll be fine. Thanks for taking care of that creature, though. An extra hand in this war is always appreciated."

"What war? And who are you?" Augustin joined the conversation. "You look just like humans, and the ship told us there was no life on this planet when we arrived!"

"Oh, sorry for the whole jumping in thing. We're not humans, but we are close. And this 'war' is rather complicated. But basically, we are fighting an armies of a demon called Lyhn. He resides there, inside the Cave of Destiny, where you saw the dragon come from. We tried going in there, but the armies inside are far too strong."

So, basically that's the deal - the Lyhn he saw in the Most Wanted list, according to these people, is a demon or something who is invading the planet from the inside. None of that information was in the original description. Granted, there was none of it at all then, but still. Seems legit? Who knows. Augustin took a quick stroll towards the large cavern, then flew up and slowly started moving in. Lucien quickly hurried after him and stopped him.

"Dad, why are you going in there? Aren't we here with taking care of some resource extraction site or something?"

"Lucien, it can wait. I am a superhero, after all, I need to help others. Besides, if all of the enemies inside are as weak as this one, then this will be a cakewalk. We will be done in 10 minutes at most." The Prince replied. Lucien gruntled, but decided to follow his dad anyway.

"Hey, Lisa, maybe you want to come with us? We'll just clear out this mess here and come back!" Augustin shouted to his android friend. Or something.

Lisa also smelt (Well, not literally, she couldn't really smell at all) something wrong. She should be able to detect something coming from these bikers, but she didn't even get the slightest sign they were alive. And there was still something here on this planet. Something strange. Though if people really were in a war and there were lives at stake, then perhaps these bikers had some sort of thing that kept her from sensing them. She gave the android mental equivalent of a shrug and let her spacial armor and sword disappear. "Sure." She wanted to be useful, and if there was anything wrong with this planet, she had to be around to make sure her friends didn't get hurt. She looked to Lucien.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you if anything bad happens." She said earnestly and without condescension. Something about Lucien made her want to keep him safe.

"I don't understand, Dad. I couldn't sense any one of these people." Lucien exclaimed to his father as they both were climbing down the large cavern. It truly was a very weird thing. After all, energy sensing shouldn't lie. Neither should eyes, but still, it's even a bit creepy. The boy quickly turned his head back, and besides Lisa, he only saw darkness. The opening was already very far away, but at the same time, they only walked down a couple of meters. It's like they moved much faster tha they felt they were. It was one of Lyhn's tricks, but they were not aware of that.

"Lisa? Did you notice that we already went down so far? In only a matter of seconds?" The boy said and turned to the android nearby. "And at the same time, I can feel a very weak power all over th place... I don't get it." All of this weirdness was far too much for an eight year old boy to comprehend, and he would usually just resort to just shrugging it off.

"Damn straight." He said and shot into space assuming that Artico was following him. He was aimed at Mars. This was to serve two purposes. Get Artico up to a level where he was actually worth having around, and to make sure he knew how to use his new powers. Alex slammed into the ground shaking the entire world just a bit. "I was lying, bluffing, or otherwise. I was created to be the ultimate warrior. Now I'm wondering if those idiots actually managed to kill Frieza... If not, it shouldn't take more than a minute or so." Alex said and he looked at Artico. "Come at me with everything you have. I need to asses you more thoroughly."

Rebecca Phillips/The Jester-20 Yrs-Gotham City

As Queensy restrained Rachel, I crept over to her with the cane firmly in hand. As I unhanded her and motioned to the door with a 'Shoo' hand motion. Rachel stood there, confused for a moment, but then believed I was letting her go, as she turned around. I cracked the metal cane hard against her head, leaving some brain matter on the cane and blood spatter on the walls. She fell to the carpet in a lump and then I bent down to her, and grabbed her up from behind and as I stoop up, I was holding her up like a puppet. With one arm attached to hers and my other arm handling the other one. Made easier that she was not a very tall woman despite her curved figure. I then began to control her body movement like that of a puppeteer, acting out some old time tragedy, I placed her hand gently on her bloody forehead as I imitated to the best of my ability the recently deceased's voice.

"Oh, another arrow through thy heart! For a Swan sings it's song, and a dreary note it is." It was then that I drastically switched up the style and directed her rolling head at the petrified man. Then moving my hands to her skull and jaw, to open and close her mouth rapidly as I made her talk.

"Well, this is farewell love. Not that there is much to miss." I then turned and hurled the dead body outside of a window sending her crashing about thirty feet to the pavement below. I stepped up onto the window sill and peered over at the pool of blood forming around the body. Then, turned my attention to Queen and the hostage.

"Well, I suppose she was just trying to see us to the door." I shrugged then laughed. "I guess that is our cue to leave." I lead the cast out back onto the street, still looking around and seeing only a homeless man a good ways down, asleep on the pavement. Electing not to steal the car as I did not want it traced to me, I simply commanded that Matthew 'Act Natural' as we lead him back to the carnival. Well as natural as one could look being escorted by a maid and a clown on a night that is not Halloween.

We eventually made our way back, with Matthew silently sniveling the entire way. I escorted him to one of the, barely functioning, roller coasters with a section of it missing a ways up ahead. I forced him to sit down in it as I strapped him in and jammed the restraints so he would be unable to escape. He had given up all manner of begging by now. Seemingly resigned to his fate. I then sat down in the seat next to his.

"Now, just as we always talked about!" I exclaimed. "A day at the carnival, a day just for us with rides, candy and laughs and oh those non existent memories, bleh." I said, pretending to throw up.

"Well, never too late for that one last ride now is it?" I then looked over at Silver Queen.

"Send us off darling, I want to see him off on his trip!" With Queen activating the ride. The car ride car began to jerk and shriek as the ride came back to life. Slowly starting to pick up speed. I then slapped Matthew on the back as we could look over the carnival. "Oh, look around! The lights, the joy and the crowds! Isn't this fun!" Of course, almost none of that was actually there, and the car began to move faster and faster as we weaved and turned around the rattling track, which seemed as if it was about to fall apart at any moment. But, I could begin to see the drop off which meant it was time for me to bail, and leave the man to his fate. As we came ever closer and closer, I stood myself up on the moving car, as I began to laugh at the adrenaline rush, of being right on the edge of safety and likely to die in a horrifying accident.

"Well dear, we must part! I shall bid thee farewell, and enjoy the ride!" I yelled at him over the sound of the noisy machine. Then, I leaped from the car and used the curved handle of my cane to snare a metal pipe and I glided down the rail all the way back to the carnival floor, landing somewhat roughly on my feet and turning just in time to see the rail car fly over the edge of the roller coaster. I then began to stroll back to Silver Queen and leaned up against her, placing an arm around her neck.

"Ouch, I hope he had collateral insurance." I mused, and chuckled with a laugh.

I then turned my head towards hers while placing a gentle hand upon her chin and turning her face to meet my gaze.

"So, Queensy, lets not get bored. I have had my fun, what would you like to do now?" I asked, satisfied with the work we had done so far.

Hector Gage/Dragoon-28 Yrs-Gotham City

"Graaagh..." I moaned as I began to wake up. A rattling on the door had stirred me as I scanned the remarkably rather empty and yet unclean apartment. My eyes caught sight of a digital alarm clock as I could see it was 3:27 in the morning. I began to shuffle under the sheets, as I was reminded of the woman in the bed next to me, a little drool escaping her mouth as she slept deeply. Too wasted from last night to wake up. The woman was my....girlfriend, if that is even the right word for us. I would just describe it as repeat hook ups. I lifted my feet off of the bed and set them down on the apartment floor. Knocking a empty bottle of beer under the bed. Not all habits are so easy to get rid of. Then, the knocking came again. And I willed myself up, turning a lamp on and sliding some dirty pants on and a wrinkled white t-shirt. "Aaargh, I am coming. Hold on..." I growled at the door as the woman between the sheets began to stir.

"Hector, who the hell is it...." I ignored the comment and simply opened the door, only to be greeted by the sight of two children. somewhere between the ages of 8 and 11. I am really bad at guessing ages. A boy and a girl(The two in the center), the boy wore a black t shirt with a long sleeve grey undershirt beneath that and matching shorts with a pair of dirty Nike shoes. The girl was about his same height, perhaps four feet...something and wore a pink top with a dark patterned skirt and black shoes. Both had raven black hair and brown eyes. "Dont the cub scouts stop selling cookies at like, midnight?" I asked the two in a smart @$$ manner and then continued. "Look, whatever you are wanting. You have the wrong room, there is a nice old lady about seventy who will buy whatever just three rooms down-" It was then that I was cut off by the boy, who I just noticed had a large that cascaded down his right eye. "We dont have time for this old man, mom dropped us off here and said we would be staying with our dad for a while." I took a step back. I was about to protest when his sister, a tough as nails looking girl handed me a note.

"She said to give this to you." She said in a rather commanding tone, holding the note outstretched as I took a hold of it. The woman who was occupying my bed was now dressed, and after hearing the conversation was sliding out of the door. Saying nothing, she wanted no part of the kids, and honestly. I wish I had an alternative. I stood there, blocking the entry while I read the note, and how it seemed that a girl I had dated in high school had gotten pregnant, and decided to not tell me about it. I mentally sighed, and then stood aside so they could enter.

"What a dump..." The girl trailed off as the boy scoured the fridge, taking a pizza box out and throwing a couple slices in the microwave. I then pretended that I was capable of taking care of two kids, even for a limited time. Sat myself down on my bed and asked their names. The boy allowed his sister to do the talking while he was content to eat the heated a;most twelve hour old pizza.

"I am Melody and he is Michael. We are twins, and mom says you are our dad. She said that you would take care of us for a while, while she went away. Whatever that means. She called you Hector?" The last part in the form of a question. "Yeah, thats my name." I confirmed as I yawned loudly and started to rub my eyes. "So, what do you do...for a living. Sell drugs?" I then gave a sarcastic laugh as responded to the girl's bad joke. "I am a garbage man, and I cook at a fast food chain." It was the boy's turn next. "Well, just keep your garbage hands off my pizza." He demanded before taking another bite.

I just may kill these kids.

I then did my best to direct the pair to sleep. "Listen, there is a bed in the back room with a television. Watch whatever you want but keep it quiet and go to bed. You will have to share a bed and I have work in a few hours. The two of you also have school tomorrow." Both kids gave me a disgusted look.

"Are you joking? Share a bed?" The girl challenged. I looked up confused.

"What? Your twins. Dont the two of you share everything?" The girl, who I could tell was going to be a pain in my @$$ answered quickly. "Oh yes, we just filmed a movie where we even share the same spot on a soccer team, and before that we made a film about switching places between two estranged parents to make a big happy family."

I then raised my voice. "Look, your mom left you with me so listen to your dad and go to sleep!" I ordered, regretting it afterwards. The two began to shuffle off, Michael already finished with his pizza as he had the last words.

"Mom may have left us with you, but you are not our dad." As the duo left me alone, I plumped myself down on the bed. Shifting my hand through my hair and rubbing my unshaven face I dropped myself back onto my bed. Thinking about the balancing act I would have to do.

Two jobs, patrols as Dragoon and now two spoiled kids who I am not even convinced are mine. Way to go Hector, way to fucking go.

Arctico smiled as Alexander had ordered him to attack with every ounce of power he had, finally, a battle which would be worthwhile training, he knew that just by the energy within Alexander, this would be amongst one of the most entertaining training session he has ever had. Taking the stance of Frieza, Arctico began to charge himself up to his absolute full power, his aura ascending up into the deep dark abyss that was outer space and piercing it's darkened veil. Arctico let out a low groan as he felt the power within him begin to pour out like a mighty stream, and even though it was far from Alex's own power, Arctico was not going to hold back, thinking as if this was a battle in which his life was on the line "Hyaaaaa...." Arctico growled, closing his eyes and surrendering himself to the Ki within him.

"HYAAGGHH!!!!!!!" Arctico yelled as his muscles slightly buffed up and the ground began to tremble around him, his power having shot up to at least 80%, which quickly rose as an Energy Barrier began to manifest itself around Arctico, causing him to move forward towards Alexander as fast as possible, his speeds increasing along with his power as the energy signature broke the 90% Mark.

Alex was hovering around 5 percent of his newfound power. It felt great to be at full strength once again. But now he actually had something to use it on. Training the Arcosian. Alex put his hand out and when Arctico smashed into him, he held his stance and slid back a bit, but was pretty much unharmed. "This training is every bit mental as it is physical. When fighting someone who outclasses you, think outside the box." Alex said and flung Arctico into the air. "You're not part Saiyan, so we actually have to do this the old fashioned way. Your first test is to hit me. Doesn't matter with what. Blast, fist, a rock. You just have to hit me. Do that. And that should prove to me that you're capable of abstract thought." Alex said and lowered to the ground waiting.

Now, he was watching Alex and Artico go at it. It would be beneficial to see what his possible comrades could do, but wouldn't their time be better served fighting against galactic threats? Whatever, he thought, Could be fun? Shizuo sat down to watch, since there wasn't anything better to do at the moment.

The Starlight wrote:---

Etla appreciated that Helen found her story about her home fascinating, even if the end was not quite a memory she was fond of. Either way, she continued approaching, content to hear that this human seemed to find the Skyworld interesting just like she herself found this Earth awe inspiring. The emerald of the leaves and the azure of the skies, the patterns of light caused by the intertwining branches of the forest's canopy, the chirping of the birds that flew around the forest, the sound of the rustling of the leaves produced by the wind, the feeling of the grass and the soil on her bare feet, the breeze on her hair and her skin, and the ever-present, overpowering scent of the forest, the Rainborn continued to take in all of these things even as she conversed amicably with the Rabbit Girl, her core displaying remarkable power and control as it processed dozens of senses each second while still allowing her to talk and walk as normal.

Now, what the Rainborn found truly awe-inspiring was Helen's bold claim that she might be able to help her return to the Skyworld, somehow. Truth be told, she sincerely doubted it. She had plenty of reason to doubt that this human could help her get back to her father's abode, knowing full well that the Skyworld was somewhere far away from Earth, and knowing it was not simply a matter of distance, either. However, she still smiled at the proposition, appreciating it for different reasons entirely. For one, it displayed great goodwill and nobility on Helen's part, and if nothing else, it certainly served as a testament to the confidence of these human beings. She would certainly keep the proposal in mind, but for now, she decided to say nothing about it.

Instead, she followed Helen through the forest, taking her up on her offer to give her a tour around Earth. She walked around with her newfound companion and guide, noticing for the first time not just the vastness of the place, but also the great variety of lifeforms present in it. There were not just the rabbits, the human and the floating creatures that made strange sounds. There were plenty of others, most of them with furry coats surrounding their bodies. There were large creatures with fearsome claws, though they didn't seem to pay any mind to the traveling pair for the moment, and other sleeker creatures with large horns that reminded her of the branches of the trees surrounding her. Those last ones seemed rather skittish, as the one she had attempted to approach had fled as soon as it noticed her walking towards it, but she didn't mind, and simply continued following Helen.

As they walked, the Rainborn learned more and more about Earth. Its vast landscapes. The great cities of concrete. The mountains that touched the heavens. The long rivers that carved a path through the very earth. The sunny warmth of summer, the dancing leaves of autumn, the chilly embrace of winter. She heard of all of this and more. She heard of something called "snow", which was like soft, frozen rain. It rained in Earth too, she soon found out, and other interesting things happened as well. Beams of light descended from the sky and burned the ground. Great furious winds swept through the land. It was all fascinating, the life that this planet Earth was brimming with. Oh, and there were more humans, as well. They organized themselves in large "nations", though Etla hadn't quite grasped what a nation was yet. The gist of it, she believed, was that there were a lot of humans, a lot more than there were Rainborn, and that they differed a lot from each other as well. That much she could understand.

And so it was that after a long while of walking and talking they eventually found themselves sitting on the grass of a hill close to the forest, overlooking the trees, the light steadily decreasing as the large star beyond the sky descended and sank into the horizon in a beautiful show of nature's wonders.

"This is wonderful." Etla commented with a smile as she sat cross-legged on the grass, the long tails of her white coat spread out behind her, with some of the rabbits lying down on it as she kept another, Dallen sitting on her lap, caressing it as she watched the setting sun. The sky began to turn into a sea of crimson and gold as the light of the star began mutating, the day finally coming to an end. Etla sat down there and patiently watched the show finish, before gently taking Dallen and placing him on the ground, turning slightly to shoo the ones sitting on her coat before standing up, addressing Helen.

"However, I am curious about the other humans and their cities. I want to see more of Earth. Could you show me?" She asked of her new friend.

To the common person walking down the sidewalk past Jamal, he may have appeared to be a local Miami resident giving a tour to his tourist friend. If you told this to Jamal he would probably just laugh at you and then proceed to tell you that you have no idea.

Jamal looked down at D'Vorah as she walked by his side and appeared to be unable to keep her eyes on one spot. Her head was always moving, as though she was searching for something or genuinely amused or interested by the city. Jamal guessed it was the former and that she was searching for possible "threats" to him. That seemed like the most likely explanation for someone taking the roll of a bodyguard. It also fit perfectly with someone who had no idea how to actually be an effective one. She was way too obvious.

Jamal was wandering aimlessly through the city. He just needed some time to gather his thoughts, and he felt like he couldn't effectively do that within the confines of his apartment. Eventually he inadvertently found himself at a Starbucks he visited on a fairly often basis. With a shrug he walked up to the counter and greeted a woman whose name tag read "Gwen" behind it.

"Hey Jamal. Been a while since you've been here." Gwen said with a smile.

"Yeah, I've been busy with...work. Thought I'd take a break though and found myself here. I'll just take a regular Frappuccino."

"Alright!" Gwen replied and then glanced at D'Vorah who was looking around and eyeing the other customers in the store. "And what about you, ma'am? Would you like anything?"

D'Vorah turned her head to Gwen and was about to respond before being interrupted by Jamal. "The same for her. She's a friend from out of town and doesn't speak English that well." Jamal had almost forgotten about D'Vorah's voice which would arouse suspicion if not outright expose her as not being human. It wasn't something he could just shrug off and attribute to being a symptom of something like a cold.

"Really? That's pretty interesting. I'd like to hear more about it sometime, maybe over coffee." Gwen said.

"Oh come on now, you don't need to advertise to me, I come here too much as it is." Jamal chuckled.

"Hey, I have to try to get that promotion anyway I can." Gwen said with a grin. "Anyway I won't hold you guys up any longer, I'll be right back with your drinks."

After receiving their drinks, Jamal and D'Vorah sat at a table access from each other. Jamal began drinking his Frappuccino and he glanced at D'Vorah who was simply staring down at her drink hesitantly. "Go ahead and drink. You're not gonna die." Though Jamal said this he realized that he honestly had no idea whether that was the case. Hell, the drink might be lethal to her species for all he knew. That'd be one hell of a way to go out: death by Starbucks.

In any case, D'Vorah sniffed the drink and then took a sip with the straw. After a few seconds, she simply stated, "It's good," and continued drinking.

Jamal reached into his left pocket and took out a cloth. "This is my spare helmet." The cloth spontaneously changed shape and took the form of a collar. He reached across the table and wrapped it around her neck. "There, now say something."

"Hello." D'Vorah said, her voice now that of a normal human female.

"That's better. Now we just need to do something about your appearance."

D'Vorah tilted her head in confusion. "Do I not appear human enough?"

"It's not that. It's that you're basically wearing a bikini and a hoodie. There might be a beach minutes from us but wearing what you're wearing in the middle of city isn't exactly normal even here." Jamal took a drink from his Frappuccino and then paused. Wait, if you reformed from a bunch of small insects, where did you get the outfit f-. You know what, forget it."

After leaving the Starbucks, Jamal led D'Vorah to the first female clothing store they came across. He had no idea what the best quality female clothing stores, as it wasn't like he visited them in his free time. "Welcome!" They were greeted by a fashionably dressed woman. "How may I help you today?"

"She needs some new clothes." Jamal said, pointing down at D'Vorah. "We're not looking for anything specific, just make sure it isn't too expensive." The woman wrapped her arm around D'Vorah and began leading her away. D'Vorah glanced back at Jamal, slight worry on her face. "It'll be fine. I'm not going anywhere." He placed more emphasis on the latter statement as he guessed she was probably mostly worried about him being alone, which went against the whole "bodyguard" thing. He turned and went to the bathroom.

Upon walking to a urinal and standing in front of it, he felt something press against his back. "Don't move a muscle. I have a gun. Back away slowly." Jamal did as he was told. "Now walk out of the bathroom and exit the store. Don't try anything stupid or I will shoot." Jamal again did as he was told and exited the store, with the man following behind him close enough to where he could shoot him but far enough as to not arouse supicion. Eventually, after being given instruction after instruction, they reached an alley nearby. Jamal was pushed against the wall and turned around. If he wanted to resist, the man wouldn't have been able to budge him at all. The man stood at around 5'10 compared to his 6'6 figure.

As though he could read Jamal's mind, the man chuckled. "Yeah, don't think that you can do anything to stop me just because you're bigger. Size doesn't mean shit when I have this bad boy right here." He said, pressing the gun nuzzle underneath Jamal's chin.

"Look, I'm not in a good mood today. Why don't you stop this bullshit before you get hurt?" Jamal stated, unfazed.

The man became visibly irritated. "Did you not fucking hear me!? Hand over anything valuable, now."

"Dude, do I look like I have a lot of valuables on me? You don't know how to judge people, do you?" Jamal asked condescendingly.

"Shut up! People who don't have valuable items don't go into stores like that. I've seen countless wealthy men go to that store to buy their little mistresses fancy clothes and shit. So don't you fucking lie t-." He was cut off suddenly after being grabbed and pulled to the wall at the end of the alley at blinding speed. "Agh! What the-" Before he could even process what happened, he began suffocating. He looked down and saw a giant pincer piercing his abdomen and realized that his lung had been punctured. He looked up and saw the face of D'Vorah who was now in her original appearance, with rage painted all over her face. Then everything began fading , the last thing he heard being the faint sound of Jamal calling out at D'Vorah.

"What the fuck did you just do!?" Jamal shouted as he rushed to her side.

D'Vorah removed her pincer from the man's body and he slid down the wall, leaving a trail of blood. "We have discussed this already. My purpose is to protect you. This man threatened your life and thus-" Jamal caught the body and interrupted her.

"Shut it." Jamal picked up the man's body and glared at her with pure rage in his eyes. "Stay. Right. Here. I'll be right back. Do not move. Do you understand me?" D'Vorah nodded slowly and blue energy encompassed Jamal's body. He shot off into the air to the nearest hospital.

About 20 minutes later, Jamal returned to find D'Vorah in the exact same spot he left her in. He floated down to the ground a few feet in front of her and then charged her. Not even a second later, she was being held against the wall at eye level by the throat. "What is wrong with you!?" he shouted. "I had everything under control. Did you seriously think a fucking gun would hurt me? If he didn't have a good chance at surviving I'd kill you right now."

Jamal let go of her throat and she landed on her feet. He then walked next to her, put his back to the wall, and slid down until he was sitting. "I still don't know why I haven't already. Maybe I'm just a fucking idiot." He muttered to himself. After a few minutes of silence and staring down at the ground, he sighed. "You said that you'll serve me... if I were to tell you that I'd be turning you over to an intergalactic prison, would you give up willingly?"

"No." D'Vorah answered with no hesitation, which didn't surprise Jamal at all. "I would not be able to live with myself knowing that I would be failing to protect my king. However..." She walked in front of him and then kneeled. She grabbed his arm, balled his hand into a fist and placed it on her forehead. "I would not resist if you chose to end my life. I only request that you do it swiftly."

Jamal looked up at her face and saw one thing in her expression: desperation. It was at this point that he realized that D'Vorah had only been making up excuses. From the beginning, her story made no sense at all. She said it herself, when she explained her purpose for being here, that accepting and following a "king" was mere custom. It wasn't as though she said it was a necessity. It wasn't an instinct, though there may have been something biological that promoted this custom. It was a voluntary choice. He realized that she was lonely. He couldn't blame her. The extinction of one's entire species was enough to drive anyone insane. It was enough to drive someone to cling to anything that connects them to their species -- including their customs -- or want to die.

Jamal sighed once more and stood up. "Alright, you can stay. But we're going to lay down some clear cut rules. This is your last chance." Jamal then added with an eyeroll, "And enough with the kneeling already." D'Vorah stood up and nodded. "Come on, let's go finish getting you some clothes. And at a different store. I'm pretty sure none of those clothes are in my price range, from what that mugger told me."
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Elena Galadera/Batgirl
Gotham City

Landing at Rebecca's ex fiancee's home with a roll, she quickly rolled, and, standing upright, immediately noticing the dead body in a pool of blood. Kneeling, she checked the body, still warm. She diagnosed that she had been hit with a blunt object to the head and straightened, noticing the shattered windows and determining by the patterns of the glass that the woman had been thrown from inside the house. Pushing open the door, careful not to contaminate the murder scene by touching the doorknob. Heading upstairs, she checked the bedroom, seeing that some minor explosives had been used on the door. Her cowl told her that there were certain bodily fluids on the bed, and also told her over several drops of blood, one being near the phone, suggesting that someone had been trying to reach for the phone, perhaps call the police.

Her work was done here, but she still needed information. Calling the GCPD through her cowl, as soon as the call connected, she barked out, "Get me Gordon." The young, male receptionist, replied, "I'm not just going to busy the Commissioner because some tough guy decided to call. Who are you?"

She didn't have time for this. "I'm Batgirl," she whispered quietly, but threateningly, doing her best impression of a Batman voice. "Now Get. Me. GORDON!" she said, her voice rising to a shout with the last word. The undoubtedly cowed receptionist pressed a button, and connected her to Gordon's phone. "Gordon."she greeted. "Batgirl. Sorry about that." he said.

"We've got a dead woman, at 1233 Willis Square, Gotham City. Killed by a blunt blow to the head. Get Forensics over here. Remember Rebecca Phillips, the Joker gas victim. This was her fiancee's home, Matthew Morris the same one who cheated on her with Rebecca's boss. I suspect that the dead woman here is Rebecca's boss, I detected certain body fluids on the bed, and the woman was still warm. I conclude that this was Rebecca's work, getting revenge on Matthew. However, he's gone. What I need is full intel on Rebecca Phillips, who her friends were, her hobbies, habits, everyone. Get interviews with her coworkers. Leave no stone unturned. She may have a list of targets. We don't want a second Joker in Gotham, and that's what I think the Joker Gas did to the woman, made her into a Joker. I'll be waiting at the Bat-Signal. Thanks, Gordon." Elena said, her voice softening, ending the connection. She flew off into the air once again, continuing the tireless campaign of the Bat and his family.

Helen Garden/Rabbit Girl
A Hill

Helen gazed at the beautiful sunset, the dancing colors of pink, red, gold and orange, tossing and turning in the sea of blue that was the sky. The beauty of the Earth, was something that every generation should get to see. But it would all fade, soon enough, if Earth's current course remained as it was. But it would not remain so, if she had anything to say about it. Her rabbits even now were working towards helping the Earth. Loggers received warnings to stop and offers of money to support them and their families while they found some jobs. Awhile back, she had formed an environmental company, Green Future, which worked around the world to give opportunities and help the shift from nonrenewable energies to those that were renewable. A week or two from now, she was going to have a meeting with Craig Thomsen, the founder and CEO of Thomsen Tech. Thomsen Tech had always been one of their greatest supporters and Craig had regularly said in speeches and TED Talks that the Environment should be the world's #1 concern. They would be meeting because Craig wanted to incorporate Green Future into Thomsen Tech, which she was absolutely delighted about. They just needed to work out the details.

Seeing Etla stand up, and ask her a question, she sat up herself, and said, "Sure. I just need to make a call and get some stuff, from my house and then we'll be off." Reaching into her purse and getting out her smartphone, she tapped on her contacts and scrolled down until she saw the contact titled "Mace Windu." After seeing Star Wars, she had never stopped teasing Fury about his resemblance to the Jedi Master. Calling him, she waited until the call went through and then spoke into the phone. "Hey there Windu!" she heard an audible groaning from the one eyed S.H.I.E.L.D. Director. "You owe me after Thanos and Darkseid. I need a S.H.I.E.L.D Quinjet, a couple of tickets to various cities and a U.S. Passport." Fury, doing what she asked responded, "They'll arrive at your house in a few hours." Hanging up, she put the phone away and spoke to Etla. "I just needed to call something. We'll be ready to leave in a few hours. We can go into the city, I've got a house where I live, if you want to sleep while we wait, or if you want any food. Or, I'll show you the city and then we can find something to eat. Your choice!" she said, smiling.

Craig turned on C-SPAN as the broadcast of Maxwell's Morningstar was summoned to the U.N. It was an interesting topic this, and Max, he had to admit was a genius, and had Craig intrigued. Max directed himself with power, a skill that few could achieve, one that made him appear larger and stronger than the assembled delegates. He was firm, assertive, never relenting, but not overextending as well. This was a man who knew both his power, and his limits. Craig studied the tall ruler of Ur, dubbed, "Mad Max" as he concluded his closing statement. This would be interesting indeed, and perhaps while Mr. Morningstar was in the United States he could secure a meeting.

Mad Max Morningstar
Hours After UNSC Resolution 2180

The Mad King of Ur stepped back into his Phantom, his own state car, as it drove away from the United Nations Headquarters. Before it exited international territory, however, he and his drive noticed a small barricade being formed by National Guard soldiers of the State of New York, and more specifically, under the orders of the United States Government no doubt. The ever-brave and ever-daring King of Ur ordered the vehicle to drive close to the barrier. Doing so, the suit-clad Mad Max exited against the wishes of his driver, being greeting with a man who was seemingly in charge of the operation.

"Maxwell Morningstar, I presume." The man said, his tinted sunglasses, flag pin, wireless communicator, and business suit showing the signs of working for the Secret Service of the President. "I'm Lee Johnson, we'd like you to come with us." He said, making a motion to grab onto Max's shoulder. The leader stepped back, eyeing the man defiantly, Mr. Johnson a bit upset at the motion. "Let's make this easy, shall we? No need to cause a scene." He further said, stepping onto the driveway of the UN headquarters and grabbing onto Mad Max's coat sleeve.

"Unhand me. You are attempting to arrest a sovereign of a foreign nation on International soil." Maxwell stated, "Remove those barriers as well or I shall do it for you. Restricting access to International territory is dignified as a breach of Security Council Resolution 167. I will see your government at the Hague, Mr. Johnson, and you rotting there as a war criminal for attempting to undermine international relations by so much as daring to arrest me." Max began to turn from the man, getting back in his car, but still talking at the fellow. "I am no longer a citizen of your United States and as such, your laws do not apply to myself. It is called diplomatic immunity, and whoever told you to put on this circus will be hearing a formal complaint, as well as legal action in the International Court of Justice."

The Mad King swung himself into the back of his automobile and locked the door, placing a single hand forward and swiping it to the left, watching the scene unfold through the windshield as the barrier was flung to the left by a sudden burst of energy. "Now, drive." He commanded to his chauffer, not to be authoritarian, but to get to their next appointment sooner rather than later. Plus, he'd rather not break the arms of a Secret Service operative right after the United Nations gave him six months to peacefully research the Super Soldier Serum under their direction for it's supposed health benefits to humanity. "Mr. Adler, where to now?" He asked, the UN Headquarters now a distant building in the background, waiting for his driver to answer.

"We have been asked to attend a meeting with Mr. Craig Thomsen of Thomsen Technologies in Virginia, Your Majesty."

Mad Max was a bit displeased that his return home would be delayed, but he had heard many things, all of them positive, of Mr. Thomsen and his inventions. The man was a gifted genius, no doubt, yet was in contrast to the towering intellects of Morningstar and Augustin in that he stayed far, far away from weaponry and militarization schemes. An interesting path to take, and because of it, Thomsen could focus on the environment and other things to benefit humanity in the long run. Perhaps he would make a good ally in technological squabbles between himself and White Prince, and the opportunities to better the world was well-within their collective grasp. As he delved into his thoughts, the car made a gentle stop, the trip being fairly quick, and the car being before the gates of Thomsen Tech HQ in Northern Virginia.

"We're here, sir." Adler stated, Mad Max nodding in affirmation, looking out of his windows at the exquisite headquarters.

Alex watched as Arctico powered up. "A decent technique. You'll need to work on being able to do that under stressful situations. Not too many people are going to sit there and let you do that." Alex said and tilted his head to the left to avoid the blow. "You also need to learn to expect the unexpected. Like this." He said and fired a wide, bright red blast from his eyes, enough to singe, but not seriously injure Artico. "Fight me at your fullest power. Your body will adjust to it and you'll get stronger. Remember. Pain is just weakness leaving the body." Alex said trying to act as an instructor as he floated into the air. This was the Arcosian's chance to impress him. Alex hoped he had more tricks up his sleeve than just blows and energy blasts.

Although able to protect himself from eye beams, Arctico looked up to Alex who stood floating up in the air, causing him to subtly smile as he prepared a Ki Blast Attack, with two Purple Orbs forming on both of his individual hands "Ah, there we go, just what I need!" Arctico said inwardly as he shot forth a volley of Energy Blasts towards Alex at extreme speeds, seemingly with absolutely no regard for accuracy. In order to make it appear as a desperate attack, Arctico bared his teeth as if he were fighting a life or death battle against Alexander "This should at least allow him to buy the deception." Arctico said inwardly, he knew the technique and how to use it, he also had an idea if Alex had managed to survive unscathed from the attack, this was the prototype technique he was planning to use, the Hellzone Grenade, an advanced variant of the Scatter Shot Attack, but Arctico tried to make the volley of energy blasts somewhat accurate as to make sure that Alex didn't catch onto the deception.

Hearing Rabbit Girl's positive answer to her request, Etla smiled brightly. She was quite eager to see more of these interesting lifeforms called humans, to see their cities, what they looked like, what they sounded like, what they felt like. She was eager to see more of this world. If the simple action of a star descending from its place in the sky was so awe-inspiring, so fascinating, then who knew what the cities would hold for her? The forest was a place of nature, a place untouched by mankind and indeed, there was only one human present, as well as herself, a Rainborn. Cities however, from what Helen had told her, cities were great forests crafted by the hands of humans for their convenience. They were the grand caves of steel where humans lived. She was infinitely curious about what they would hold for her. Would they be like the forest? Would they be different? Would they be as beautiful, or would they be ugly and dull? She had absolutely no idea, and this only made everything all the more exciting for the lost Rainborn.

However, Etla's eagerness was short-lived, as she was soon distracted by the curious sight of Helen pulling a strange artifact from within an odd container. She crouched next to the Rabbit Girl, looking over her shoulder at the alien contraption she held in her hand, noticing how she tapped and slashed across the screen with her finger to make the lights and the symbols displayed by the artifact move and change. Helen tapped her finger over what appeared to be a name, and then spoke into the artifact. Much to the Rainborn's confusion, a voice then seemed to sound from within the artifact. Was someone trapped inside? Unlikely, as judging by the conversation whoever Rabbit Girl was talking to was another human, and from what she had observed humans were not supposed to be small enough to fit inside an artifact such as that one. The explanation, then, was that the strange artifact was a communication device, which impressed her. She wondered what other types of artifacts humans were capable of creating, what else they would have to surprise their guest.

However, when Helen stood up and spoke once again, Etla merely listened attentively, her face demonstrating an ever growing expression of sheer confusion somehow accentuated by her unnatural, glossy eyes. Sure, going towards the city was precisely what Etla had asked for, and in that sense she was getting exactly what she wanted, but still, much of what the Rabbit Girl had told her left her quite puzzled.

"Sleep?" She asked, evidently ignorant of the very concept. "Food? What is that?" She inquired. She was a Rainborn, and Rainborn did not have the same physiological needs as humans, if they even had any at all. The very concepts of food and sleep were alien to her. Indeed, if Helen had been paying attention to such details at all, she might have noticed that Etla did not seem to require breathing, and there did not seem to be a beat in her chest.

Through the streets of New York walked a woman with curly blonde hair, a cigarette in her mouth spewing smoke into the sky from its lit end. She proferred a long, frustrated sigh as she turned a corner, holding a cellphone in her right hand while the left remained tucked into her pocket. All things considered, it had not been an ideal morning for her. Sure, the part about getting to sleep in her boyfriend's apartment for free and getting to wake up on his arms every day wasn't bad at all, but after that she found out that she had been laid off from one of her part-time jobs, which was quite the wrench in the works. She had been trying to save up some money to see if she could get a shot at finishing college, or maybe buy a car and ride off into the sunset. Hell, she didn't know, her life was a bit of a mess and she didn't have much of an idea how to set it straight. She was grateful that at least the shadow attacks seemed to have stopped at last. Of course, even if they started again, she could always defend herself with Misery, the mystic gun which was currently tucked away safely in her pants, but even then, it was not herself she was worried about.

With all that thinking she was doing, Garnet had barely even noticed that she had her hands on her head, though she did notice when her cigar fell off. She cursed loudly and stomped the ground as she noticed. That was her last one and she wasn't really willing to spare the money for another pack, but she still wanted them. A lesser dilemma, but one that caught all of her attention. Good, good. At least that way she wouldn't be thinking about the mysterious shadows that seemed intent on murdering her and everyone she loved, or, more importantly, her economic situation. Maybe she'd try to find another job, or maybe she'd try to save up money with the other one. She didn't exactly spend as much as she did before meeting her boyfriend, since she didn't have to pay the rent anymore. Maybe it wasn't entirely fair, but he had been the one to volunteer to do that anyway.

Maybe she'd buy a hot dog. That always seemed to calm her nerves. Yes, that sounded good. With that in mind she made her way towards the nearest stand. Her idle thoughts and hot dog plans, though, were interrupted when, all of the sudden, she noticed some sort of alien demon thing dragging a man with a tail across the ground. If she hadn't dropped her cigarette already, she would have done so then, as her mouth was completely agape at the sight of that. To add to her surprise, the man, a boy really, was completely unscathed, and continued fighting against those things. There were three of them, all very powerful-looking and all intent on killing the boy. Garnet stood there completely dumbfounded, not sure of what to do as she idly fingered the grip of the mystical firearm she kept with her at all times.

"Oh, I'm going to kill myself after this." She thought as she finally drew the weapon in one swift motion. Holding it with both hands and keeping an expert grip on it, Garnet pointed Misery at one of the three alien demons attacking the boy, firing off an entire ten-round clip at it. Hopefully, that would be enough to kill it or destroy its soul, though she really had no idea. She had never seen these things before. She only hoped that they wouldn't notice her trying to keep them from killing the boy. Failing that, she hoped they would at least give her the five seconds Misery needed to reload itself. Sure, she didn't know how useful Misery would actually be against those things but it should at least do some damage.

"First shadow creatures and now alien demons." Garnet thought bitterly as she tried to hide behind a wall. "What the fuck is going on with my life?!"

Alex watched as Arctico shot a flurry of blasts at him. Though only every other one seemed to be aimed at him. It was easy to dodge them. In fact it was almost too easy. He thought it was strange and by the time he realized it, it was far too late. Arctico had surrounded him with energy blasts. "Huh..." Alex said and put up a barrier as they all closed in on him with quite a bit of speed. "Alright. I'll count that as you hitting me. Good job.I honestly didn't expect that." He says and lands as the barrier dissolved. "I'm going to be honest. I didn't really plan for this so I don't actually have another test in mind. So welcome aboard to... This little Cabal thing. I'm working on the name. Guardians of the Galaxy and Universe are already taken so... I'm open to suggestions."

Craig, being informed that Mr. Morningstar was here, spun out of his chair, and pressed the elevator's down button, stepping in, and waiting as the elevator took him to ground floor. Stepping out, and opening the door, he welcomed Max to Thomsen Tech. This would be interesting indeed. "Hello, and welcome, Mr. Morningstar, to Thomsen Tech. Thanks for taking time out of your schedule," Craig said, stepping up to the leader of Ur and shaking his hand which totally dwarfed his. Craig was 6 feet tall, but Max was on another level, being around 7 feet.

As they walked in, Craig holding the door for him, he commented, "Quite a show you put on for the U.N. today," he said. "But we're not here to talk politics, are we?" Craig commented, pressing the button for the elevator once again. As they went up, Craig continued, "I asked to speak with you today because I believe that we share a common vision: to make this world a better place, both for today, and our posterity. Together, we can advance that goal, Ur is an emerging global power, and Thomsen Technologies is one of the leaders in its field.

As the elevator stopped and the doors rolled open, they stepped out to employees innovating. One was working on a 3-D printer for prosthetic arms and legs, another was working on a model of the Thomsen laptop, and others still were working on water filters and wells in Africa. "Together," Craig said, waving his hand to the employees, "we can change the world."

"But instead of walking and talking, or sitting at desks and talking, let's do something different, shall we?"
Leading Max to another door, he opened it, showing several game consoles, couches, and several large screen TVs. "Tell me, Mr. Morningstar, do you play Fifa?" Craig asked with a small smile. We've got it for the Xbox, Playstation, and Thomsen Tech's very own Virtual Reality consoles. I took the liberty of programming the national Ur soccer team into each one, along with our respective persons, you into the Ur national team, and I into a custom Thomsen Tech team. And while we play, we can talk. So, what do you say?" he asked with a growing smile.

"Oh." Helen said, surprised. She endeavored to explain this as best as she could. "We humans need energy, as everything does. To do that, we eat things, or, put them in our mouths. We swallow them, and then our bodies convert the things we eat into energy, which we use to run and walk and play. As for sleep, it's another way that humans gain energy. Eventually, we get tired, so our bodies need to rest. So, we close our eyes and go to sleep, walking up in the morning, when the sun is up. Tell me if that just made it more confusing. Anyway, we can talk while we go to the city. Let's go!" Helen said, starting off towards the city.

"That looked like it hurt." Sayaku commented. "But it was long enough. Take my hand." Sayaku's accumulated demon energy was clearly visible, even to the naked eye. His hand glowed a dark purple, and the air around it was definitely colder than everywhere else. This was true demon energy, and it was about to beat the crap out of Virgil.

The Republic of Atria wrote:"Damn straight." He said and shot into space assuming that Artico was following him.

Shizuo followed Alex, as he seemed to be doing a lot of that recently. Away from the helicarrier, waiting outside Doom's castle, out to orbit, and finally to Mars. Good thing stamina was a foreign concept to androids.

Kirana groaned slightly, aching pain through her body as she began hearing familiar voices in her head. She gritted her teeth as she shut out the AI and got up, moving towards Sayaku as she grabbed his hand. The Android meanwhile was cocking her head slightly at the two organics. She slowly loaded two large missiles, each with kryptonite shrapnel, into her launch bay, ready to destroy female one at least.

The Queen had taken another casual bite of her apple as the cane had just killed the woman. "You really like your blunt force trauma don't you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow and sighing. Silvey never really liked using blunt force rather than just slicing her opponents, but Jester hadn't so much as touched a knife. It was the only complaint of this partnership so far, but even she had to admit it was a rather petty one considering how much fun she was having otherwise. Besides, it just meant she would get to do the carving up in this duo.

As she followed Rebecca back to the carnival, she picked up the teddy that she had "won" her and smiled as she held it. It felt soft in her arms, and she was surprisingly attached to the bear now, it seemed to calm and comfort her. So much so that she was almost distracted when she had to pull the lever. Though she had still managed that easily enough. She then placed the bear down on a table after that.

The SIlver Queen thought as she was asked what they could do. She put a thinking hand to her chin. "We could rob a bank, though it's really not as fun as it sounds and is more than a little cliche..." She replied. She thought, wondering what she could do with this new partnership. She paused. "We could always stay here. It may not be the most exciting option, but I'm sure there are a few things we can do at a carnival. Though I'll understand if you want to do something more... exciting."

Lisa considered the possibilities. "Well, you can't sense my energy right?" She offered. "So maybe they're all Androids... very... advanced androids..." She offered. "Okay... something... "weird" is going on." She conceded. She walked some more into the cave with Lucien, making sure to stay close to him. It was strange how Augustin wasn't doing that, she was sure he would be more concerned about his son. Even she understood that. Then she looked behind herself.

"That is odd..." She muttered, the sudden distance manipulation was strangely familiar... like she was able to do that. She had never considered that application of her powers. She was happy she was learning so much, but concerned at the same time. "Don't worry. If something really bad happens I'll teleport us all out." She replied, trying to give a comforting smile. It was kinda forced though...

For the Halfling laying in a pile of assorted rubble, the mystery woman shooting the Monarch known as Vinegar was a life saver, the demon screeching in agony as he fell to the cement, convulsing like an epileptic.

Rolling over, Hiroshi conjured twin orbs of energy in his palms, smirking devilishly as he released them into the midsections of two monarchs, the demons screeching as they were carried off into the air. Standing up slowly, the Saiyans muscles tensed as more energy flowed into them, the muscles bulging as his energy neared its wall, or its maximum. Dark Violet eyes swirling with emerald, Hiroshis face became stoic, his onyx hair spiking straight up. Crouching over, Hiroshis body shot erect as energy filled his system.

His baritone voice echoing over the landscape, glass on nearby buildings shattering from its intensity, Hiroshis aura lit around him, golden flames burning the cement and cratering it dramatically. Floating there, the Golden warrior spared one glance to the new comer, giving her a once over before turning back to the Three Monarchs.

"Care to give me some explanation of why you attacked me? Or should I just kill you now and get it over with!" Hiroshi said, his Ki amplified voice echoing get over the now quite city street, visbly shaking the Monarchs.
What don't you understand? I CAN'T DIE!

A machine. Interesting. He thought to himself. What weapons and armaments it had was beyond him, but it was worth a shot. After all, Shizuo did follow him to Mars. If it was capable of keeping up with him, then it at the very least deserved some time. Being a machine, Alex couldn't sense it's energy. He had no way of knowing how powerful it really was. Impressed with the technological base he was seeing at Thomsen Tech, Mad Max made mental notes on the various inventions and objects he was seeing. Not to copy them, but to know just how far behind or ahead a potential rival was. Despite his friendly demeanor, Maxwell was always planning for a scenario, a tangent of some sort, where he would have to face even the most unlikely of foes. But, the change of pace for a discussion seemed rather...unorthodox, but the King of Ur had no qualms on playing a game as they chatted.

"I'm very pleased at what I see, Mt. Thomsen. Let's strap up with this console of yours, I'm not the best player, mind you, but my physical condition should give me enough room to keep up. If only for a moment." He said with a sensible chuckle. You are correct, we share a similar goal, and to be honest, it is a blessing to work with someone of...comparable intellects instead of against them as my relationship with White Prince has become. I look forward to the fruits of our shared labors." He said, patiently waiting for Craig to reveal the VR Console.

Maybe if I keep her from using her ranged weapons this would be easier The android activated her missles, pointing her arm at Kirana before she found it pointing at the sky as the Kryptonian force it up, the missile firing at the sky and detonating harmlessly in the atmosphere.

She then proceeded to slam a kick into the robots torso before she managed to break the Kryptonians grip and fly away. She looked over to the Saiyan, realising he must be making her stronger somehow. She threw up another green kryptonite smoke screen, which Kirana managed to blow away, but not before the Android sped towards Sayaku, hoping to eliminate what she thought might be a weaker target...

Julie
Julie sighed as she watched with boredom, having nothing better to do either. She put her head in her hand as she watched, waiting for a chance to ask if Alex could get this collar off her or not or if she could train with them. She then saw the android go to train with Alex.

"Can I go after him?" She asked.

The Rebel Alliances wrote:-Corinna Erastos

For many moons now, the powerful King of Ur had sought a soul that would grant him a specialty in combat like no other, a life-force to be absorbed to sate an ever-present, yet unrevealed hunger for power and energy. Within those ruins of Ancient Sparta, home of the greatest warriors mankind had ever known, the Mad King watched patiently, knowing the fight was one of valor and necessity to the aged Spartan, and knowing that her patron God had ordained it. Perhaps Ares knew Mad Max was watching as well, and had seen the Spartan woman in her pheonix form, and to that end, he most likely did not care. The ever-strategizing mind of Maxwell Morningstar was that great - he could predict the movements, motives, and thoughts of Gods themselves.

He was no stranger to humility, though, and as the dark gray skies gave way to small droplets of rainfall in the aftermath of the titanic battle, Maxwell moved from his position as witness to the center stage, the very battlefield, crossing away from the defeated corpse of the Hydra, and making his path toward the ancient Spartan woman. His clothing seemed rather relaxed, loose and only slightly fitting. Max wore only a plain white tee-shirt and white sweat pants - almost akin to lounge wear for him, and to an armor-clad warrior like Corinna, almost non-threatening.

Almost.

"Hello, mighty warrior." Maxwell bellowed as he walked closer, coming between Corinna and the Hydra's corpse. "I care not of your deeds or motives, they are greater than myself, but I humble you with a request." He said, stopping and standing at a respectable distance from the woman, his face stern and his body rigid, as if he were made of stone. That rock-hard demeanor slowly chipped, though, as he almost forced himself to one knee and made his request known. "I ask for training in your ways of ancient combat. I am Maxwell Morningstar, King of Ur, and I will give you whatever you desire in return."

"Should you desire fortune, I will grant it. Nations, I will bring them to your feet. Freedom, and your wings will soar beyond the clouds themselves. Power, and you will share my throne." He said, rising from his kneeling position, the subtle comment of Maxwell being more powerful than Corinna being thrown in at the last minute, but not without purpose. "Perhaps I can be of use to Ares alongside yourself, but history speaks of no greater warrior than yourself, Corinna. Not the history of mortals, mind you, but the ones present to the Gods themselves."

I haven't actually fought since before coming back here." Shizuo said as he stood. Future tech, while definitely more advanced than 2015 tech, still had a way to go before they could completely overtake metahumans and inherent powers. Still, it would benefit Shizuo to see how he compares to Alex, and maybe even Artico.

"I don't see why not. After this Nightmare thing blows over, I think I'm just going to stay in space." Alex said and used his new Xray vision he received as a result of his Kryptonian heritage. "Same rules. Try to to hit me." He said and faced Shizuo ready for combat.

"Alright. I'll admit, I don't fight like you all do. I'm a bit more... technical." Shizuo said, pulling his gun from its holster. "This will either much easier, or much harder, than the Arcosian had it."

Before he even finished talking, Shizuo let out half a dozen shots from his handgun. The shots were lasers: high speed and stop for nothing. They'll tear through a foot of high-grade battleship armor from Shizuo's time. Then he pulled his light blade from his left holster, following the beams with a lethal confined laser blade that had about the same penetrating power as the beams.

"I'll call you what I want. I guess your will is really strong to not be lost from the demon power." While Kirana was fighting, Sayaku was compressing more demon power in his hand, to see the other applications. Unsurprisingly, Virgil came after him because of how he powered up Kirana.

He looked ahead. He looked at his hand. "Well, it can't hurt." Sayaku said, before shoving the demon-enhanced hand into his own chest. He could hear his own heartbeat, loud and clear. Adrenaline, or demon energy, he couldn't tell, coursed through Sayaku, pretty much making him feel as if he'd just drank a whole shit ton of coffee. He grew claws, fangs, and an aura like Kirana, and his hair spiked straight up.

"Aw yeah," Sayaku muttered, as he grabbed the bot by the head and threw her away across the clearing. "I don't know how long this will last, so we should end this quick." He told Kirana, flying after the android at top speed.
