I have quadrupled the size of my map now - it's now 3840x2160 and has four times as much content. It's still a WIP, editing all the terrain, etc. I've been so tempted to add another section to the right, but that requires effort and then it'd really be overkill.

Attention - Now looking for Lore Writers / History Writers!

It's come to my attention - that if I ever want to see any RP come of this world I'm creating at any point in the next decade, I'm probably going to need help - there's an absolutely gigantic amount of work that needs to be done whether it be writing about the different cultures, the different dynasties, legends of old, history of nations, cities and peoples; and I'm probably not going to be able to do it myself - so basically, I'm thinking about putting up a list of things that need written about, alongside a few ideas I have for them and what I have so far and allow people to basically go wild with it -they'd write up a segment on one of the sections, going as in-depth as they can/like then they'd send it to me to check for contradictions, for extremes (eg - some kind does a blood ritual and sinks the entire continent) and generally things that don't fit in - I'd then send back my notes or we as group could discuss things that may not fit in and we can edit the lore a bit until it fits or vice-versa.

The theme is light to medium fantasy, think Game of Thrones with a bit more oddness shall we say - not more magic necessarily, that'd still be a rarity, but more mystery and unexplained happenings.

Would anyone be interested in helping me out with something like that? - If I get enough interest, I'll create a thread for better co-operation.

I for some reason, maybe because I dont have a lot of experience playing Ranger spin off games, never had the feeling Rangers were so OP. I mean, dont they only have like a single pokemon partner and focus more on rescuing other pokemon than battling? I have beaten one Ranger game but forgot what it was and that was a couple years ago.

Temp, those are some good ideas about the Gym leaders. I can get behind that.
As for allowing more types of roles apart from Teams and Rangers, players who app as villain team members are actually going to become the good guys, in the way I had the story planned. They would defect and battle against their former teams to eventually remove them from power. Something like Pokemon Colosseum for the Gamecube.

I am already planning a Team Rocket member for my character.

Also, feel like such a noob saying this but I just got my second Gym Badge on my first try from the Dewford Gym leader in Emerald.

My pokemon team consists of-
Lv 11. Makuhita
Lv 15. Wingull
Lv 15. Lombre
Lv 15. Beautifly
Lv 16. Combusken

And yeah, Rangers are OP. All 3 of the games, it only took a small group of Rangers to beat the teams. They're well trained, can use as many Pokemon as there are nearby, and their partners can fight above whatever level they may be.

Off-topic, my partner will be something in the Shinx-Luxio-Luxray line. You think we should have small/unevolved Pokemon as partners, or should we be allowed evolved forms?

It sounds so, so wrong when you say their balls were negated by the Pokejammer.

But no. Their partners don't just fight above what their level; they are fucking immortal. They could be attacked by Mewtwo's strongest attack. They don't even begin to give half a fuck. It is part of why Pokemon Rangers are so, so OP.

Small and unevolved. We certainly don't want somebody whipping out a level 55 Tyrantaur, dio we? All Partners should start out at level 5. And Partners don't even need to be high level to be useful, anyway; I got a Cranidos in the beginning levels of Shadows of Almia, and it sank an entire Cruise Ship with me.

Moving on; Upon actually playing Pokemon Y, perhaps we should replace Team Flare with Team Dim Sun, you know, due to Team Flare's wanting to kill most of the Human Race.

But anyways. Perhaps while attacking the Hoenn Region, the Teams also attacked every Ranger Base, catching the Rangers by total surprise and eliminating a good chunk of the Union. Hastings is dead, Murph is leading a notable but far smaller group of rangers to the Hoenn Region to combat the Teams, the remaining Rangers are shocked and scattered, and the Golden Armor was lost mysteriously during the attacks. Sound good? There's still a ranger Union, but it is crippled, and Hastings is dead, because there is no way it would be crippled with him still in command. Murph, that lovable Bastard, will lead the Ranger Players to Hoenn for revenge.


Stevens is Resistance Leader. He is quite literally the strongest person in Hoenn (not counting the people who play Generation III all the way through).

Alright. I need a list of Gym Leaders in Hoenn, quick. The only ones I know by heart are Roxanne, who would flee along with Steven, Norman, who would fight Team Rocket on his own until he finally died from his wounds, and Wallace, who would join Team Aqua and therefore remain a Gym Leader because he's a slimy bastard. We could have a whole system where Gym Leaders and Elites remain, but those he didn't defect have been replaced by Villains. Players who are members of the bad guy team can battle their way through the Leaders to improve their standing in their team.

And no shit. It is a game about enslaving cute animals and forcing them to battle to the death, then repeatedly bringing them back to life only so you can expose them to pain and misery again. That is exactly why I love it.

I guess that works. Can't think of anything better.

Alright. So Roxanne, Flannery, Winona, Liza, Phoebe, and Drake would flee to Dewford and establish a Provisional Government with Steven. Wattson and Tate would be caught up by the Teams, however, and unable to escape, and therefore reluctantly accept challenges from the teams at their Gyms. Sidney, Glacia, Juan, and Wallace willingly defect, and are pushed down into Gym Leader Spots and given slightly weaker Pokemon, because the Teams trust nobody. Meanwhile, the remaining Gym Leader spots and all of the Elite Four are filled by the strongest Admins from the Teams.

They made her Backstory somewhat sad. Not only did they reveal in the Manga that she was old friends with Daisy Oak, Professor Oak's Granddaughter, she was killed in the Manga along with Steven in Norman. Yeah, Pokemon Manga is depressingly sad. In the Pokemon Yellow Manga, Lance loses everything he owns and breaks down into tears. In the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Manga, Diamond dies. A lot of dead people in Pokemon Manga.
