"That is good to hear." said Lady Galadriel. 'We have a ballista on the foot of Cerin Amroth and more are in construction. Did you bring any siege weapons? Also, our first objective will have to be to get past the orcs building their fortress on their side of the Anduin. Celeborn has suggested to me that we should attack in a weeks time, so that the orcs will be less guarded after seeing the might of Lindon join that of Lorien. What do you think?"

As he approached the gate he noticed that even the guards where armed in black. "I'm Thorin, son of Dáin, heir to Erebo; I wish to speak with your lord" Thorin said while he stood in front of the gate, watching the impressive looking guards of the Blacklocks.

From atop their fearsome gate, that shut off the mountain from all did the guards look down. With a quick shuffling of commands, and the impressive swiftness of the arrival of the Captain of the Guards did they perch over the gate once more.

BlacklockHall, The Red Mountains
"I see, Thank you, may your beards watch over you" Thorin said as he turned around to inform the other Dwarves. This could complicate things, but Thorin was sure that with the right words he could convince them, even if the Irofists themselves where rejecting any help, the others would listen carefully and if he would chose the right words they would support it. And so Thorin went to the camp where he informed the other men. Within a day they cleared out and left to the mountains of the Ironfists.

Grey Mountains
Glóin and Gimli had marched for a week now, they where searching for the lost stronghold of Dor Daidelos that used to be located in the Grey Mountains. While nobody rememberd the exect route, the dwarves just took on their instincts and went with the best route they could figure out. Dor Daidelos was captured a long time ago by a drake from the north, if Glóin and Gimli wanted to reclaim the stronghold, they would have to see what was left of it and they had to find out if the Dragon still occupied the place.

Erebor
A raven came flying from Mirkwood, carrying a message with a black ribbon attached, This ribbon used to be only attached when there was great need. Since it arrived from Mirkwood there was only one possible writer, Dwalin.
When Dáin got word from it he rushed himself to the Mountainside where the ravens gatherd. His own hearth stopped for a second when he read it...
Dáin knew that the dwarves had to act quickly if they wanted to reclaim their lands. He sended out ravens to both Glóin and Gimli, asking Glóin to return for advice, he also sended a raven to Thorin in the Red Mountains, to Thranduil in Mirkwood and to Brand of Dale. All had to know, if not for their own sake, that the last Kingdom of the Misty Mountains had fallen.

Saruman stood from his chair and said "I am glad we could meet again to discuss the current crisis which befalls Middle Earth but I must return to Isengard to ensure Rohan's reinforcements in Gondor." He nodded to each of the council members "Lord Elrond, Lord Cirdan. I hope that the next time we meet it will be under more fortuitous circumstances and that the situation will have gained control of the situation." As Saruman left the council chamber he climbed onto his horse and began to make his way swiftly back to Isengard.

Results: Recruitments of 250 Urak Hai, 250 Orcs, 4,000 goblins and 100 Wargriders. Along with continued expansion of the Isengard tunnels and beginning of the construction of a fortress in the Misty Mountains.

Grimbold led his men, an entire éored, in to the foothills of he White Mountains. It was unclear when and how orcs had returned to where they had not been seen in 150 years, but obviously their presence could not be tolerated. But a day's difficult ride through the broken terrain had turned up nothing. He had just about decided to turn back for Aldburg when once again a long, shuddering howl broke out. This was no patrol skulking in the hills. There were at least 500 orcs. As with the previous encounter, the fight was short and brutal. This time, however, the outcome was far different. The dead lay scattered all about. Grimbold gathered what few he could and made swiftly for Aldburg.

Caras Galadhon

The Lorien elves started to practice their tactics with the Teleri elves, and soon they were able to mold seamlessly. Though the forces in Dol Guldur were still stronger, the elves were a formidable force. They would soon assault, and the forces of evil would fear the elves! The construction of more siege weapons began, almost in mass production for the elves, who had few siege weapons. The ships of Cirdan had several ballistas mounted on them and would fire upon the enemy. The elves planned to attack from all sides, straight across the river in a small force by night and also many ships would land the attackers to the north and south, flanking the initial enemy on the beaches. From there, they would put some of the elven archers in the trees and fire hundreds of volleys of arrows from all directions, so that the enemy would have no where to pinpoint the attack of its own siege weapons. While the archers fired, the siege weapons constructed would bombard Dol Guldur and after several days of bombardment the elves would attack from all sides, hopefully wiping out the enemy. Then Galadriel would come forth and tear down the walls of Dol Guldur and the elves would be victorious. The barracks at the foot of Cerin Amroth had been completed, and the wooden palisade at the top of it had been completed. The barracks would be able to fully host the rest of the Lindon forces, most of whom had already found homes in the talans or other barracks.

North of the Gladden River and the Old Ford

The two messenger elves continued to ride to the Grey Mountains in the quest to find the Avari. Soon they would hopefully find the Dark elves, and also hopefully, the forgotten elves would not be bitter.

North of Mirkwood

The elven emissary continued to ride to Erebor to tell the dwarves of what had happened in the latest White Council. But the North was a dangerous place so he gripped his bow harder and fingered his sword, ready to draw in an instant. Soon he would reach Erebor.

Mountains of the Ironfists
Thorin and the 3,000 men at last arrived at the mountains controlled by the Ironfists. As the marched towards the fotress he started to think how he could convince the three, or at least two dwarvenclans. The day before Thorin had recieved the letter from Dáin concerning Khazad-Dûm, while it was sad news, Thorin would use this in the talks, he was sure that they would at least get some feelings of revenge when they would hear the news.
Finally Thorin approached the gates, "I'm Thorin, son of Dáin II Ironfoot, heir to Erebor and the Iron Hills; I wish to speak to your lord" he said. The 3,000 men once again had set up camp just outside the gate.

Grey Mountains
Glóin had returned to Erebor upon the request of Dáin, Gimli however had continued the search for Dor Daidelos. Three weeks they had searched with no results, but Gimli was not planning on giving up. He tried to use his dwarven sence, and with results. On the early morning they came across a stone path, they followed it, and found it at last. From the outside it was clear that the fortress had been damaged, but its silver gates still reflected the sun over the path. Gimli slowely approached the gates, his men where ready... They all knew what could be waiting behind those gates, and every step closer brought a new level of tentiones with it...

The Rivendell lord Elrond sits on his throne. With him was his closest commanders, Like Glorfindel. They spoke about the growing evil which may soon come to Rivendell.

'' My lord, for every day Sauron is growing.''
'' Yes Glorfindel. We must act as soon as possible.''

Elrond remembers the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. He told himself he will do all in his powers to honor that alliance and help the good powers in Middle Earth against Sauron and his evil allies.

Elerian wrote:When the captain saw the dead men walking his confidence quickly wavered. It was dashed even more so when the dead men began chanting. Several of the men began to move backwards, in an effort to escape. The captain looked around at his men the skeleton man approached swiftly and hacked down at one of the men. He was nearly cleaved in half though at the last possible moment he lifted his shield. It hardly did him much good however. His shield was reduced to splinters and he was flung into the men behind him. The captain realized there would be no escape, they fought and died, or they fight and killed all the creatures. With his torch in hand he ran at the first of the creatures and tried to set his robes alight. His sword raised defensively lest the creature try to strike him down. And as he ran at the creature he yelled as confidently as he could "lets send these creatures back to hell!" And with that some of the men got to action.

After the men saw a few of the braver ones get involved they quickly joined in. Those with torches tried to set alight all the approaching wights while the rest cleaved at their limbs. Those with bows proccured their own torches and set their arrows alight. After they held some flame the archers shot their bows at the oncoming wights in an attempt to set them on fire. The men fought hard to push back the creatures, though whether it would be enough was yet to be seen.

The Wight's Tomb
The leading Barrow Wight looked down upon the Captain, before he slowly pushed back against his robes and held his broadsword high, slamming it downwards at his opponent as he drew near. His eyes locked with that of the Captain, age old malice and hatred brew within the long dead King as his inhuman strength was once again used. From beneath columns tall and archways mighty did the remainder of the Barrow Wights advance each of them rhythmically singing their chant of terror, slashing at the invaders with mighty weapons of a time long gone by. One was set alight, his robes of ebony being pierced by an arrow of the men of Tharbad, he slowly shrieked as he ran at his foes, slashing more wildly and vigorously than the rest in an attempt to kill any one of the foolish individuals to get into his way before he became nothing but a pile of ash with a few ornamental pieces of gold upon it. Another was cut across the abdomen by another individual, before he too was set alight by the torch carried by a third man. Unfortunately, his heavy sword met the second assailant's chest with a loud thump before the Wight perished into nothingness. This did not falter the Wights, and their chant continued throughout the halls of old.

"Cold heart, dead stone.
Black men walk in halls alone.
Evil wake, dark breath blow.
Never more walk lands above,
Join now, in halls of stone!"

Same as before, you Plebians.

Gongton, Mountains of Rhun

As the Mouth of the Forge-Lord entered Gongton once more, at the rising of the sun, the sentries bowed low, seeing he bore the ancient blades as requested. Most of the village turned out as word of the masked man's success spread from hovel to hovel, and many great warriors clashed spear on shield, shouting out, "The Mouth! The Mouth returns victorious! Praise be to Melkor the Rampant, and Sauron of the Forge!" Rendered in Orc-speech it was a harsh cry, but the martial pride within it was obvious, and as the Mouth dismounted the Highest Gong came towards him from the longhouse. Fat he seemed, but under the fat was layer upon layer of muscle, and he was almost Uruk-high in stature, a great brute and powerful fighter in his time.

He bowed, as one would to a respected friend, and spoke in a deep voice.

"So, you return victorious. You need not enter in to the council and convince us to join your war; the hot blood runs strong in the youth and warriors, and ever since your arrival they have talked of naught but war and glory to be had. Many of our finest warriors wish to march west with you, and crush the foes of the Lord Melkor and Lord Sauron. I thank you, on behalf of the village, for your faithfulness in retrieving these, our ancestral weapons. They are all we have now of the glory of the ancients, the honor and power that was in the hands of the Gongs when Utumno was delved and Angband raised, when the Darkness was fell and terrible. I would see those days come again, and those who cursed the name of our Lord and trod us down spurned in to the dirt in their turn."

Behind him came clanking a line of Gong archers, clever compound bows at their backs, eyes keen, five hundred in all.

The Highest Gong turned.

"To war!"

The cries were fierce and loud in the vales of the Mountains of Rhun, as the Gongs marched to war for Sauron, Lord of the Earth. Nearby, the Mouth of Sauron grinned as he mounted his dreaded steed and began his trot towards Mordor, 500 Gongs following to their new homes.

The men of Tharbad fought on. It was far too late to run so their only choice was to defeat these evil creatures and be done with the matter. Though killing them would take all the men had, they could still prevail. Any men who had remaining torches lit them and used them to lit the wight's robes while other men distracted them. The archers continued to loose their flaming arrows into their targets and they all hoped their efforts would be enough.

Lothlorien

It was a silent night on the banks of the Anduin. All was well and the birds chirped. Under the cover of night, many elves had crossed the Anduin from the far north and far south of Lothlorien. They quickly took cover in the trees and waited for dawn.Other elves, these ones Wardens, surrounded all the territory that Lothlorien possessed and stood in the trees with bows notched. The ladders on the talans were drawn up and the gates of Caras Galadhon were closed and many Galadhrim and Lindon soldiers stood watch there and throughout the forest.. Dawn came and went and both parties continued to work on their collective fortress. At high noon, however, the silence was broken. The 6 ballistas on Cerin Amroth began to fire onto the working orcs and the fortress. At the same time, the elves started to surround the building site on their side of the Anduin. Their sharp arrows would soon make quick work of the orcs there.
Then, the trebuchets, ballistas and catapults fired onto Dol Guldur and the surrounding area. The 8 catapults and 9 ballistas and 5 trebuchets were situated in different places so that they could not be pinpointed.
The elves adjusted their armor and checked their equipment. No matter the cost, they would rid Middle-Earth of the foulness that was Dol Guldur. The assault on Dol Guldur had begun.

Erebor

The elven messenger had finally reached Erebor. He took a moment to appreciate the majesty of the mountain before riding up to the gate and announcing himself and his purpose. "I seek an audience with the King under the Mountain."

Caras Galadhon

Having heard of the reestablishment of the long-forgotten Kingdom of Tharbad, Lady Galadriel sent an emissary. The emissary would tell of the happenings in the world and ask for aid in Lorien's assault on Dol Guldur.

The very earth beneath their feet rumbled as they stood in a loose formation, spears poised in front. One of the goblins defecated on himself and another near the back dropped his spear and ran with terror. Everyone of the goblins were wide eyed as they looked death straight in the face. Their death was in the form of a multiple ton scaled behemoth. The rock beneath their feet trembled again as it gave a mighty roar. It was drawing nearer, tearing through their meager defenses. Suddenly flames lit every crevice of the cave as Katla careened around the corner of the cave. Several arrows flew forth only to bounce off her glittering scales. Katla looked at the sad mass of goblins before her. It would take mere seconds to melt them, mash them, and if Katla so wished to crush them. Katla gave a hearty laugh and the dumbfounded goblins looked up at her in awe. "I offer you your lives if you join me. If not then you will share the fate of your brethren. So what say you?" It only took several seconds for the goblins to throw down their spears and bow before her. Katla was nearly a god in flesh, but even still it wasn't enough.

It took another hour to scour the gave and root out the last of the goblin hoard. She recruited a few, killed some, and roasted many. Katla felt pleased with herself over her triumph. It was an easy victory. A small army number of her Goblins would augment those already recruited to test their reliability and loyalty. Should they falter they would be killed.

But something else intrigued Katla. The fires of Isengard seemed to grow day by day and now, Katla believed it was time to go and see why the Orcs were there. She spread her wings once her forces had arrived and flew off to Isengard. But first she tasked her goblins to begin making another breeding pit. It didn't take long for Katla to arrive at Isengard, she beat her wings and disrupted the smokestacks heavily as she made a pass over the fortress. She came back and landing on the top of the tower and gave a roar. She then waited and brooded over what the orcs and their master would do.

From atop the gates several Dwarves looked down, each one watching the Longbeard attentively. Soon, with the sound of several heavy chains being pulled up accompanied by several heavy bolts being shifted and the dark black gates being pushed open, the gates had been opened and standing by them was a heavily armoured Dwarf. He could only have been the captain of the guards by the gate. With a quick shifting of his hands he beckoned for Thorin to move forward.

Erebor
Glóin happend to be at the gate when the elf arrived, "come, follow me" he said quickly. Glóin knew as no other that things where serious if the elves would come to Erebor. When Dáin noticed the elf and Glóin he stopped, he also knew it... "What brings you here" Dáin said while he continued with his papers, not wanting to show the intrest that he had.

Dor Daidelos
Gimli and the others had entered the fortress of Dor Daidelos. It seemed safe to walk around and no hostile movement had been spotted. Gimli had walked around for a while now, he searched for valuable objects and other things of intrests. Upon some moment he was searching for old books of wisdom in the library, he had read some books about building and about keeping the greed of gold under controll. But then he noticed a book that did not belong on the place it stood. He grabbed the book, sat down and began to read. It was a journal of some kind, telling about the last days of Ered Mithrin, the days where the dwarves left these Mountains. As Gimli knew it where the Dragons from the North. But this book gave him a good description of the dragon that lurked around there, perhaps he was still there. The book described a soft spot on the dragon, clearly the Dwarves of Dor Daidelos had fought dragons more then once. Gimli read upon the tactics of the dwarves back then, trying to find a way to defeat a dragon if needed.

Thorin watched the man, he knew that the dwarves here where warlike people, he hoped that it had not faded away.
"I came to settle our differences, I came to prevent the Dwarves from extinction." Thorin said while he approached the captain. "The halls and holds of old are losing, our race is failing, our fate now lies in our own hands, the hands that unite" he added as he stood right in front of the captain.

"I come from Rivendell but I am a elf of Lothlorien. I came to tell you what had happened in the last White Council and ask for your aid. At the White Council, Gandalf revealed that he had found a ring, in which he sensed great evil in. We think that it may be connected to the growing darkness. It may even be the one. We ask that you send an emissary to Rivendell to decide what should be done with it. Also, orcs have fortified the high pass and Caradhras in great numbers. The only way through is Moria. So I ask you if you have had any news of Moria. A long time ago, elves and dwarves fought beside one another and fought the darkness. We ask that those days be renewed.Gondor is in dire need of aid and the forces of Mordor are moving. Even now, they are building a fortress right next to Lothlorien. They also have taken East Osgiliath. In response, the elves of Lorien and Lindon have combined forces at Lorien and are attacking Dol Guldur as we speak. On behalf of the elves, I ask that an army of dwarves, Mirkwood elves and men of Dale march down to Dol Guldur and help in our assault on it and the new fortress being built. What say you?" said the elven emissary.

When the word "Ring" fell Dáin looked up; He knew all about the Rings of Power and what they where capable of. As the elf finished his talk Dáin sat down, for a long time he was quiet, thinking of his move... "This darkness cannot be tolerated, that i agree upon. But we are in no condition at the moment to move. The Dwaves are holding a council, i cannot make any decisions without knowing the outcome of the council. Khazad-Dûm has been lost i'm afraid, the Orcs where to many. I will send Glóin with you to adress the Dwarves at your meeting. Currently i have" Then an interruption came, a guard came running, "Dwalin has returned my lord" he said. Dáin stood up and went outside without finishing his talks with the elf. Once outside Dwalin broke down, it was an emotional view, a sad face of the hard reality... Dáin swore revenge against the Orcs of the Misty Mountains in front of everybody who was present. This left him with no choice. he returned to the elf, "We will aid on one condition; A simultaneous assault. If we want to get rid of those that oppose peace we must make sure they can get no reinforcements from anywhere." Dáin said.
He then walked over to Glóin, Dwalin and the Captain (Rundín), "Glóin, I want you to march directly to Dol Guldur, ask Dale for aid. Dwalin, make sure our revenge is felt by the Darkness itself, Clear out Khazad-Dûm and leave none alive. Rundín, Gather some men to clear the High Pass." The three men inmediatly went to the barracks and moments later the alarm got raised at Erebor. The war had officially started. Dáin would remain at Erebor to make sure that they would remain under firm controll of the Dwarves.

That is grave news about Khazad-dum. If we have the forces to spare, after the Dol Guldur assault we will aid you in anyway possible. I would suggest that you meet up with Dale and attack from the other side of Dol Guldur, so that we can encircle Dol Guldur. The elves have already begun their assault. From here, I ride to Mirkwood, also asking for aid from King Thranduil. Though the spiders are growing in number, he may have forces to spare.

Tel Nargatheth, Eryn Vorn, Minhiriath

Hard and long the battle raged beneath the earth, no quarter sought by the men of Tharbad, no quarter asked by the fell creatures of ancient ages. Eventually, though, the fiery wrath of the men of Minhiriath was telling, and almost all of the ghouls were driven back to the dark recesses far below the sight of living men. Though they thought to pursue, the catacombs were daunting, and with fully two thirds of their number wounded or lying slain upon the cold stone of the ancient passageways, the men of Tharbad thought better of the idea. Many of the wights had they slain, and trinkets of gold and iron weapons littered the floor of the chamber. The greatest barrow-wight had escaped, but the men doubted he would trouble the living again. Dark shadows now seemed pitiful, sad, instead of menacing, and as the men stepped outside of that nightmarish keep they found the dawn breaking, though no sign of their sentries was to be found.

When they arrived back at the village, bringing the news of their victory in the dread battle beneath the earth and the fate of the lost villagers, men praised them with great praise for their valour. Many sought to join with the cause of such soldiers of renown, and the leader of the village swore that day his allegiance to the far lord of Tharbad, and soon too did chiefs of the other two more southerly villages. Tel Nargatheth stood empty, shorn of its terror, a black tooth glittering in the western sunlight.

The Tower of the Eyes, Southern Vale of Mirkwood

As the Elves came in sight of the fortress of Mordor upon the east bank of the Anduin, they were astonished to find soldiers in full gear and readiness standing upon the outer pallisade, prepared for battle. The earth was yet new turned, but the barricade was complete, though made of mere thick wood trunks. In the north the warriors of Lorien made their way east, to encircle the fortress as planned, but then a great clamour went up to their south towards the fortress, and towards their east. Great horns blew, and harsh cries could be heard. To the east the ground over a small rise of the grassy plains of the Vale sprouted black figures like a grove of mushrooms after the spring rain, and from the south tall Orcs came marching, their banners as thick as a forest, livid with the Red Eye. They far outnumbered the Elves, their hosts darkening the horizons, and the marching companies hurried to the attack, immense shields ready to receive Elven volleys, their spears and scimitars glinting cruelly. From their serried lines came a hail of arrows towards the Elves, spied from afar by the eyes of the watchers upon the Tower in the mostly barren lands of the Vale, hundreds of black-fletched shafts seeking the flesh of the lightly-armored archers. Again the horns blew, and Orc captains shouted, and on the hosts of Mordor came. It seemed they had not been content to merely await the assault of the Elves of Lorien, after being warned by their roving patrols, and had sortied in force against their foes.

Within the keep itself a labor was at work with the great timber for the building of the fort, converting them to a more pertinent usage.

Amon Lanc, Dol Guldur

The heavy Numenorean commander of the garrison in absence of the Ringwraith lord, one Darlatar, frowned at the map his scouts had brought him. And just now a crebain had brought news from the Tower of the Eyes; the filthy elves had seen fit to test the will of Mordor there in force, and now it was his time to answer. He tossed a curious brooch up and down; taken from the bodies of the obstreperous woodsmen that his men had slain, Darlatar, a cruel and great Easterling, had taken a liking to wearing it. At his command a strong force marched west along the almost finished road, hastening for the Tower and the banks of the Anduin, five thousand Morannon Orcs and the Troll-Guard of Harthalog strong, twenty immense armored Olog-Hai.

North of Osgiliath, Western Osgiliath

Still no movement from the enemy. The Orc commanders marshaled their legions, and forward the first wave advanced, five thousand Snaga Orcs strong. They came with shields ready, swords prepped to kill. Only the first part of a stratagem long devised in the Barad-Dur were they, but they were the second move of this most terrible of games between the Steward and the Eye.

Northern Wold

Up from the south the Black Road spread, guarded by causeway forts, erected by hordes of Orcs and trolls laboring with the dark stone brought up from the Emyn Muil. Their barren land would serve the Dark Lord well.

Southern Brownlands

Far in the distance, yet only a few leagues hence, the frowning spurs of the Emyn Muil rose to scrape the heavens. From Dol Guldur to the Emyn Muil, this leg of the Black Road was almost completed, but now the work had to be halted for a bit; a great host of the East-Men, the allies of the Dark Tower, was marching north to the destruction of the Golden Wood. In glory and splendor like unto the hosts of men of old they marched, and the Orc laborers were overawed by their power, but still the work continued, for their master Sauron had much work to do for them.

Lesser Wilderland

Here, just east of the Brownlands and north of the Dagorlad, the country was green and growing, and the men who commanded the Orc legions were happy to be there. Here in these wide fields would Sauron's armies march anew, and the West tremble at their passing. An Orc pit began to be delved with shovel and pick, and an earthen rampart raised about the construction site of the fortresses that would oversee these wastes.

Elrond knows that he soon must act and the first thing he and Rivendell need are allies. He will send a emissary to Arnor and request a alliance between the elven and men. Elrond also demands that a barrack shall be build in Rivendell so that he can build a larger army for the upcoming battles against the evil ones.
Many have forgotten the Witch king and his nazguls servants but Elrond remembers him very well. He fear that they soon will appear again in Middle Earth and join the dark forces.
