A
Scientific Name of Specimen: Euterpe oleracea
Source Country: North South America (Reino do Brazil)
Description: Full nurishment, non fattening
Number of specimens: 5
Specimens donated by: Alcoa University
Section: Enchanted Woodland
Scientific Name of Specimen: Quercus Ardtoii
Source Country: Ardchu, the Ardno region
Description: a large oak, evolved to grow in swampy conditions. Some may confuse them for cypruses. Their acorns are coveted by Ardno Squirrels, but they only drop one month of the year. The oaks can grow to be over 100 feet tall, and can get quite wide. Their acorns taste very sugary, and they expect for the squirrels to gather them and plant a few. Also, they display a high degree of intelligence in Ardchuan schools, often outperforming other plants, and sometimes humans. Their leaves are often green, but they can be yellow due to a rare gene that a few trees have.
Number of specimens to be contributed: 10
Specimens donated by: the Ardchuan government (courtesy of Corivia Nahrn)
Section: Ardchuan Arboretum

ImageA number of Ardno Squirrels came with the donation, they are considered as employees of the Ardchuan Nature Agency for Ardno and take care of the oaks.

B

Image
Scientific Name of Specimen: lignum ingratum vivum
Source Country: Anocratic empire (Bigpipstan)
Description: A large, distinctive-looking tree with a unique life-cycle. Each Gauranlen tree contains a small non-conscious animal queen. The queen births animals called dryads which guard and tend the tree. In exchange, the tree nurtures its protectors by feeding them directly. From the outside, it appears the dryads are created by the tree directly and act as part of it. This tree grows very fast fasts and to remain healthy, it needs a lot of prunning.
Number of specimens: 1
Section: Enchated Woodland

ImageIt is possible for a person to form a connection with a Gauranlen tree and partially control the dryads it produces.
Image Guests are prohibited from feeding, disturbing or antagonizing the dryads.
Image The tree is classified as being near extinction.
Image:Image
Scientific Name of Specimen: Cornus cachinnatio
Source Country: TurtleShroom (TURTLESHROOM II)
Description: Great Laughing Dogwood bushes are a mauve, pink, or purple color and thrive in the dim light of the densest parts of the TurtleShroomian jungles. Their flowers are white with a periwinkle tint, with broad red parts parting like a pair of lips. At first glance, the "lips" appear to be anthers of the plant, but are in fact part of its adaptation to dim light. The flowers are in bloom year round due to the jungle climate.

Great Laughing Dogwoods secrete a beautiful scent that attracts small, herbivorous animals. When a living being approaches the flowers of the plant, the flowers appear to rock back and forth with their "lips" "grinning". The flowers then begin to spin clockwise before curling up into their bulbs and going into the bush's interior. The closure of the flowers make sounds like schoolgirls laughing, which is what gives the plant its name.

The plant uses these motions and sounds, along with their coloration, to catch the attention of passers by who notice its scent. Small animals hear the laughter and see the flowers "smile" and spin as they shrink, and approach it in curiosity. Once their face looks inside the bush, the flowers spray noxious, venomous* gases that paralyze the small animal. The small animal falls to the floor and eventually starves. The Great Laughing Dogwood times its spray to ensure the prey falls inwards, onto the plant. The plant will then slowly secrete enzymes that dissolve the corpse, as its root system grows onto and into it, digesting it for nutrients.

Unlike many carnivorous plants, Great Laughing Dogwoods do not go dormant while digesting prey. Rather, the flowers open back up almost immediately after an attack in order to lure more prey, making them a "gluttonous" plant with unlimited growth potential. However, because of their remote and uncharted habitat zones, no Great Laughing Dogwood has been observed that is longer than eight feet.

Great Laughing Dogwoods pollinate with the same tactic: larger animals cannot be paralyzed or greatly harmed by the flowers' venom, and when they get sprayed by the noxious fumes, pollen collects onto them in hopes that the animal will come by another Great Laughing Dogwood bush and peek inside when it too laughs at the animal.

In terms of the dosage of venom*, which is transmitted through the air and onto the target, Great Laughing Dogwoods are not lethal to any creature larger than thirty pounds in weight and pose no risk of ejecting their venom whatsoever unless one reaches into the bush. However, the plant is theoretically capable of paralyzing a human toddler were it to reach in and breathe the venom. Their noxious fumes and pollen alike only paralyze when inhaled or ingested, and on the skin, they instead cause acidic burns and itching. These burns, while painful, are not severe and can easly be dealt with by lotion and running water.
Number of specimens: 1 live specimen and 19 fertilized seeds
Specimens donated by: Anonymous
Section: The Toxic Trail

ImageThe samples of the botanical garden are the first recorded successful recovery of the species

ImageThe Great Laughing Dogwoods that TurtleShroomian botanists have cataloged stand at most, three feet high and are eight feet in length. These fully grown Great Laughing Dogwoods only need about forty pounds per year of flesh to survive. However, because so little is known about how big these plants can get, the "forty pounds rule" is all TurtleShroomian scientists can present. Due to the extreme danger in navigating the TurtleShroomian jungles deep enough, and dodging the hazards, to get to one, no information on how much a Great Laughing Dogwood can actually consume exists
ImageThe plant can be made to "laugh", "grin", and do its spinning "dance" by approach close enough to it that the plant is brushed or experiences the sensation of movement on its leaves or flowers.

Common Name of Specimen: Indus Island Oak
Scientific Name of Specimen: Quercus Indusia
Source Country: Ardchu, Indus Island autonomous region
Description: A very purple oak tree, produces a thick purple glass that is deadly to all who touch or breathe it, other than any life from the Island. It also requires this gas to breathe. We will send some Indus Island huntsman’s to take care of the tree, they can breathe the gas so it is safe for them.
Number of specimens to be contributed: 5, along with some other Indusian life for an Indus Island exhibit. It is recommended to keep it tightly sealed indoors, to not let any gas escape. Even small amounts are deadly.
Name of Individual or entity making the contribution: Kīyal, one of the trees itself.
Other Notes (Optional): Please provide special suits that Kīyal and co will donate along with themselves. These are required for non-Indusian life to approach the tree. Use caution, but still it is important for botanical gardens to show the dangerous side of nature.
Ardchu is a fun country to enjoy nature in, but also you can be murdered on the street by police or by the native wildlife, who are citizens here. And yes, we can talk with them and they can talk with us. They are equal citizens of this country, and we are disgusted by speciesism. They are canonically as smart as humans and can think for themselves, and many of them have run the country. National language is Ardchuan, but it's mandatory to learn at least one other nature language in school.

please check these out as well, I feel like it could be a cool thing to do:

Obligatory NS stats are not canon, for they have been burning in the furnaces for days now. Democracy has returned somewhat through Senscarian (used to be British) Parliamentary system, don’t worry, we’re still your archetypal evil space empire for the lolz.

Common Name of Specimen: Gauranlen tree
Scientific Name of Specimen: lignum ingratum vivum
Source Country: Anocratic empire
Description: A large, distinctive-looking tree with a unique life-cycle. Each Gauranlen tree contains a small non-conscious animal queen. The queen births animals called dryads which guard and tend the tree. In exchange, the tree nurtures its protectors by feeding them directly. From the outside, it appears the dryads are created by the tree directly and act as part of it. It is possible for a person to form a connection with a Gauranlen tree and partially control the dryads it produces. This tree grows very fast fasts and to remain healthy, it needs a lot of prunning. The tree is classified as being near extinction.

We’d also be happy to have a full Ardchuan area in the gardens, courtesy of the Ardchuan government

Thank you. We are pleased to inform you that due to the generous financial commitment of the Ardchuan government, the Northern Botanical Garden has decided to establish the Ardchuan Arboretum. This new attraction will house all our specimen from Indus Island, as well as future plant samples from the Ardchu, The star attraction of the arboretum would be the magnificent 5 Indus Islands Oaks that have been earlier committed.

Common Name of Specimen: Bauhinia
Scientific Name of Specimen: Bauhinia x Blakeana
Source Country: Nacrad
Description: A tree of 7-10 meters upon first flowering, the Bauhinia is a flowering tree with thick green leaves and striking purple flowers. Its leaves have a deep cleft between the lobes, thus making it resemle a camel's toe - which is one of its other nicknames. Save for a few known samples, this species is sterile. Our estimation is that only 5% will be able to propagate seeds of its own.
Number of specimens to be contributed: 1,000 seeds for plantation
Name of Individual or entity making the contribution: Kadoorie School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, University of Nacrad
Other Notes (Optional): This species grows best in hot, humid weather. It does not survive well in temperatures below 5 C. It is the national flower of Nacrad, and its sterility symbolises that we are the first of our kind and will be the last to achieve this greatness.

More plants from mainland Ardchu, plus a few more from Indus Island and the surrounding waters:
Common Name of Specimen: Ardno Oak
Scientific Name of Specimen: Quercus Ardtoii
Source Country: Ardchu, the Ardno region
Description: a large oak, evolved to grow in swampy conditions. Some may confuse them for cypruses. Their acorns are coveted by Ardno Squirrels, but they only drop one month of the year. We will send some Ardno Squirrels with the donation, they are employees of the Ardchuan Nature Agency for Ardno and know their stuff.
Number of specimens to be contributed: 10, to make it seem like the Ardno forest
Name of Individual or entity making the contribution: the Ardchuan government (courtesy of Corivia Nahrn, all organisms involved gave consent to go)
Other Notes (Optional): needs swampy soil, but it must be firm enough to form hills. We will give a sample of the dirt as well.

Common Name of Specimen: Indus Island Kelp
Scientific Name of Specimen: Alaria Indusia
Source Country: Ardchu, the Indus Island region
Description: A very purple species of the Alaria kelp, evolved to breathe the poisonous oxygen that gets diffused into the waters around Indus Island. They are often used as a drug in Ardchu, and an illegal one at that because you would be killing the individual without eating it. It forms most of the sea life around the island, along with a few species of fish and corals.
Number of specimens to be contributed: 3, they will expand as far as you tell them to, they’ll listen to your rules.
Name of Individual or entity making the contribution: the Indus Island Plant Association
Other Notes (Optional): put them in the same room as the Indus Island Oaks, and the huntsman spiders that we sent will be given diving suits to be able to tend to the kelp as well, and all the other Indusian sea plants we send with this delivery (I’m too lazy to put it here but also some sea grass)
