Naval Station Stonecutters, Victoria, Oswain

The seamen had barely returned mentally after all the festivities of the Lunar New Year and the Valentines' Day. Nevertheless, the naval station buzzed with activity as Nacrad's newest carrier, the NV Resolute (CVN-3), is ready for her first deployment overseas. For weeks, the communist rebels in Hintuwan, a close ally, had been causing all kinds of headaches for Haijing... It's time to make a point.

Landside, Rear Admiral Ashley Chan briefed her staff in the base's conference room: It's not just a port visit to an ally, it's to make a point to their communist rebels. So while they hoped it's peaceful, they are prepared for when stuff does get messy.

Onboard the vessels making up Carrier Strike Group Resolute, which included the Resolute herself, a cruiser, 2 destroyers and an attack sub, final preparations are being made when RAdm Chan and her senior officers finished the briefing, and left the conference room to go to their respective vessels - Chan, of course, to the flagship which is the Resolute.

Chan was told that it would take half an hour before they're ready once onboard. So she went to her office, and headed to a catwalk just outside a storeroom, enjoying the scenery with a bottle of soda water in hand, as colourfully-attired crew checked the carrier's flight deck for debris, as massive container ships sailed past to access the massive container port just across the hill from this base. Some time later, she decided to go back and do a status check - it's about time to leave.

She descended the steep stairwells down to the hull, noting that officers are now entering the flight control room and the navigation control room levels of the super structure. She nodded and greeted them who are, no doubt, walking up from their quarters after catching a breakfast down in the mess, and before soon she arrived at the office and meeting room level, 2 storeys below flight deck.

As she turns to head to her office, Lt. Jason Sim was already waiting outside her door with binders of documents in hand. "Ma'am, Carrier Strike Group Resolute ready for departure at your command, ma'am," he briskly salutes her and she returns the salute, while they're talking., "We are awaiting orders."

RAdm Chan smiles at him, "Understood. Depart as soon as possible. Get the tugs out and I want to be underway as soon as you can. Until then, dismissed."

Lt. Sim nods crisply. "Aye ma'am. Will do." He turns around and speaks into a walkie talkie, and with that the bridges of the members in this strike group are off to an adventure. Meanwhile, naval enthusiasts dotted Victoria's prominade, across its harbour on Jamestown Island. The trip has begun as tugs moor in, and one by one the ships emerge into the harbour, no doubt photographed by many.

La Paz, 10 miles from New Temple

Attacks on major population centers in the south like New Temple were becoming increasingly frequent, but thanks to the support of Hintuwan's international allies, more information about where to look for the enemy was becoming available by the day. Near the base of Mount Dingali, where the air hung heavy with humidity and the foliage concealed unseen threats, Second Lieutenant Miguel Paradue led his squad of Commonwealth Scouts once more into the breach.

Supposedly, an Allanean doctor had treated one of the captured enemy and - whether out of guilt or gratitude - divulged credible intelligence about a supply line between the CPH's main camp somewhere in the jungle around New Temple and the city Van Hoorn where they were now primarily conducting recruitment operations.

Paradue and his men observed the massive deployment of Gonswanza's drones ahead of their patrol over the area of the suspected rebel hideout, a sense of awe mingled with apprehension washing over them. The sheer scale of the operation was staggering, with machines dotting the sky like metallic birds of prey, scanning every inch of the landscape below.

"Look at that," whispered one of Miguel's squadmates, his voice tinged with admiration. "It's like something out of a sci-fi movie."

Miguel nodded, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon where the drones buzzed and hummed like mechanical sentinels. Yet, beneath the surface, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease. The communists may be using civilian attire to blend in, but their presence was a constant threat, lurking just beneath the facade of normalcy.

"We need to stay vigilant," Miguel said, his voice firm with determination. "Those drones may give us eyes in the sky, but the enemy is among us, hidden in plain sight. We can't afford to let our guard down for a moment."

His squadmates nodded in agreement, their expressions grim as they prepared to navigate the treacherous landscape of occupied territory. In the face of such a formidable adversary, they knew that every moment counted, and every decision weighed heavily with the burden of responsibility.

As they moved cautiously through the undergrowth, Miguel's senses were on high alert, every rustle of leaves and snap of twigs setting his nerves on edge. The squad moved in tight formation, their eyes scanning the surrounding jungle for any sign of danger.

Suddenly, without warning, chaos erupted. Gunfire erupted from the thick vegetation, catching Miguel and his squad off guard. Bullets whizzed past them, kicking up dirt and leaves as they scrambled for cover, their training kicking in as they returned fire.

Caught in the crossfire of the ambush, Miguel barked orders to his squad, directing their fire and coordinating their movements as they fought desperately to fend off the enemy attackers. Despite their best efforts, the CPH forces seemed to be everywhere, their numbers overwhelming as they pressed the attack.

Amidst the chaos and confusion, Miguel felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. Every instinct screamed at him to keep fighting, to hold the line and protect his squad at all costs. With grit and determination, they pushed back against the onslaught, refusing to yield to the enemy's relentless assault.

As the gunfire finally subsided and the smoke cleared, Miguel and his squad emerged battered and bruised but victorious. Though they had faced death head-on in the heart of the jungle, they had stood their ground and emerged stronger for it.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the dense foliage ahead, stumbling into view with a look of desperation etched on his face.

"Freeze! Hands where we can see them!" Miguel's voice boomed, his rifle trained on the intruder as his squadmates swiftly surrounded him, their weapons at the ready.

The rebel, a young man with wild eyes and dirt-streaked clothing, raised his hands in surrender, his chest heaving with exertion. "Don't shoot! I-I'm not armed," he stammered, his voice quivering with fear.

Miguel approached cautiously, his eyes never leaving the rebel's face. "What are you doing out here?" he demanded, his tone firm but not unkind.

The rebel's gaze darted nervously between Miguel and the surrounding soldiers. "I-I was just trying to...to find food," he muttered, his voice barely audible above the din of the forest.

Miguel studied the young man for a moment, his expression thoughtful. Despite the rebel's claims, there was something about his demeanor that didn't quite ring true. Yet, Miguel couldn't shake the feeling of empathy that tugged at his conscience.

"Search him," Miguel ordered, his voice betraying no hint of doubt as his squadmates moved to comply, quickly disarming the rebel and inspecting his belongings for any signs of contraband.

After a thorough search yielded no weapons or incriminating evidence, Miguel sighed, his gaze softening slightly. "Take him back to base for questioning," he instructed his squad, gesturing for them to escort the rebel away.

Public Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UASR

The Union of Albandrite Socialist Republics (UASR), with great concern, has been observing the unfolding events in the waters surrounding Hintuwan and cautions against what could be seen as an unnecessary escalation between rival powers in a sovereign nation's territorial waters.

Therefore, the UASR hereby calls for an immediate withdrawal of all foreign navies from the waters of Hintuwan, furthermore, we call upon Hintuwan to practice restraint when dealing with foreign vessels as previous actions have led the continued escalation of this crisis.

The people of Hintuwan should not be subjected to the powerplays of foreign nations and any conflict between larger powers in the territory of Hintuwan would only bring disaster to the people.

Imperialist Vultures descend upon Hintuwan!
Written By People's Tribune Editorial Board

The nation of Hintuwan is a nation we have covered extensively in our paper. The nation is locked in a brutal contest between People's Democratic forces and a corrupt failing regime headed by illegitimate sellouts and puppets of foreign reaction.

Therefore, recent events within the floundering commonwealth should be of no surprise to our regular readers. The waters surrounding the nation have become a contested ground between several navies of foreign powers, all of whom seek to prop up the failing government.

See the paper thin legitimacy of the regime! To defend itself against its own people, it resorts to using the guns and men of foreign nations to brutally suppress the Democratic movement and enforce the bloody, exploitive relationship Hintuwan shares with its oversea masters.

This recent show of force has been the result of the bold moves of Gestachia, a degenerated worker's state with a desire to upkeep its trade routes, the bloodline of its economy, up and afloat. Gestachia has every right to protect its cargo vessels, however, its use of military force risks conflict with the imperialist enemy. Many observers here in the UASR caution against such a move, as the UASR maintains its principled anti-war stance in the face of uncertain crisis...

The regime in Hintuwan continues to be bleeding from a thousand cuts, the People's Democratic forces there reject being the pawns of inter-imperialist rivalry and conflict and the masses of the nation now see their government for what it truly is! A puppet of foreign powers. The movement can only advance from here!

Glory to the People's Democratic Revolution in Hintuwan!

To say recent developments around Hintuwan had been a source of frustration for the Albandrites would be an understatement. The supply line carefully crafted by the Ministry of State Security was now cut in half, the wild actions of surrounding navies had made the act of smuggling weapons borderline impossible. Communication was kept with the rebels, but much of the MSS's agents in Hintuwan had to deal with training and coordinating CPH forces on their own. It was war. There were victories, some good, some not so good. And there were losses, some bad, some even worse. The constant struggle was real and despite advances in many areas, the continued aid to the government by foreign powers had made the Hintuwanese army even more competent and even more of a threat to the interests of the MSS. So the agents began getting craftier. Details for making improvised explosions were given to CPH command, each new 'toy' deadlier than the last, and whatever intelligence the MSS could muster on the government was provided as well. The goal ultimately, was to make direct attacks against commonwealth institutions much easier, but these things took time..And time was something they didn't have..

It was a matter of waiting at this point.

Cape Favre

As the Nacradian Carrier Strike Group Resolute approached the port of Cape Favre in Hintuwan, anticipation buzzed in the air. Crowds gathered along the waterfront, eager to catch a glimpse of the imposing naval vessels as they sailed into port.

Flags fluttered in the breeze, both Nacradian and Hintuwani, symbolizing the strong bond between the two nations. As the ships drew nearer, the excitement grew palpable, with cheers erupting from the gathered onlookers.

Vice Admiral Marikudo Salalila, Flag Officer-in-Command of the Commonwealth Navy (FOIC-CN), and Captain Absolom Nahulae of the flagship BKH Bukangliwayway stood on the dock, ready to greet their Nacradian counterparts. Their faces beamed with pride and warmth as they extended a hearty welcome to the arriving naval detachment.

"It's quite a sight, isn't it, Captain Nahulae? Nacrad's naval technology is truly impressive. One wonders if we're falling behind. It's hard to comprehend how far their military industry has come over the past two decades."

The captain nodded, his gaze fixed on the imposing silhouette of the Resolute as it glided gracefully into the harbor. "Indeed, Vice Admiral. The Resolute is a formidable vessel. It's a testament to Nacrad's commitment to maritime power projection."

The Vice Admiral continued. "...and a reminder of the importance of our alliance with Nacrad, especially in these uncertain times. With the communist rebels stirring up trouble, we need all the support we can get."

Tugs guided the massive vessels into their berths with precision, a testament to the skill and professionalism of both the Nacradian and Hintuwani sailors. As the ships came to a stop, sailors lined the decks, standing at attention in a show of respect and solidarity. The sound of ship horns filled the air, signaling the successful arrival of the Nacradian Carrier Strike Group Resolute. For both nations, it was a moment of pride and camaraderie, a reaffirmation of their commitment to each other and to the cause they shared. Together, they would ensure the safety and security of their nations and the Southern Sea region as a whole.

Ivan Savkin leaned back in his seat as the Azmen jet prepared to land. The Exterior Minister checked anxiously at his watch: 15 minutes. He hated this, he thought to himself, the feeling of danger flying into a crisis gave him. He knew he was a target to Azmeny’s enemies, a man with a target on his back wherever he went. He looked out of the window: the lush, tropical landscape of Hintuwan stretched off onto the horizon, a vibrant green through the aircraft’s window. The plane banked slightly as it aligned with the runway, and he squinted slightly as the golden rays of the sun filled the cabin. Savkin knew his intentions well: he wanted Hintuwan and Azmeny, as well as the wider CSL to be on bette terms with each other, and to help make lasting peace in this paradise of palm trees. While a staunch socialist, Savkin disapproved vehemently of the violent, undemocractic nature of the CPH, and did not wish for them or their allies to start a war: he had seen far too many of those in his time working for Azmeny’s Exterior ministry.

Thud! the plane hit the hard concrete runway and skidded to a rapid stop at the terminal. A staircase was aligned with the aircraft, and Savkin stepped out, hit by a wall of hot humid, tropical air. He waited patiently, wiping a solitary bead of perspiration from his brow.

The lack of any state honors for Savkin's arrival was ubiquitous. Ground crew members scurried about, attending to luggage and preparing the aircraft for its next departure. In the distance, a sleek and imposing black state car pulled up beside the waiting aircraft with a low purr of its engine. Its tinted windows concealed the occupants within, adding an air of mystery to its arrival. The polished exterior gleamed under the sunlight, reflecting the vibrant hues of the cerulean Hintuwani skyline.

As Savkin made his way down from the plane, a man in aviator glasses and a suit emerged from the car to greet him. Among the man's distinguishing features were his jet-black hair, slightly crooked smile, and plain red tie. The glint of a small Hintuwani coat of arms pin on the upper lefthand side of his coat came into view as he approached. Upon closer inspection, it was the seal of the Kapulungang Bayan - the national legislature of Hintuwan.

He grabbed Savkin's hand and gave it a forceful shake. "Welcome to the land of the carabao, Mr. Savkin. I hope your journey was pleasant. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Ozabas Swagon. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has seen fit to appoint me as their liaison for the duration of your stay in our country. I speak on their behalf, as well as the President's, and the national assembly's House Committee on Foreign Affairs."

"I apologize that you weren't given any notice beforehand, but given how quickly the situation is escalating I'm afraid we haven't a lot of time for ceremonies. In line with this, let me get straight to the point. We have arranged for you to visit several key areas where the impact of the conflict has been particularly felt," he explained. "Our hope is that your observations and insights will not only be a benchmark for future relations between Azmeny and Hintuwan but also help inform future efforts to maintain peace and stability between the KTO and the CSL."

"We'll let you and your delegation get settled in first. We've reserved the entire penthouse suite of the Haijing Peninsula Hotel for your convenience. Tomorrow morning, we can pick you up and bring you to the city of Van Hoorn which has been heavily impacted by the conflict. You will have the chance to meet with local officials, community leaders, and residents to hear firsthand accounts of their experiences."

"After Van Hoorn, we'll take you to F.O.B Mangalagar: headquarters of Task Force Southern Sentinel where you'll get to meet with Major-General Kepe Sofia Sawanming Ramirez, commander of the 33rd Hintuwani Infantry Division and the current director of military operations. You'll also be able to meet with members of the international coalition who are supporting the Hintuwani government's efforts and are currently stationed there."

"Lastly, the city of Cape Favre where we will visit a temporary shelter for displaced families," Swagon continued. "This will provide you with insight into the humanitarian challenges facing the region, and make a great photo-op for your government. There will be a speaking engagement there where you'll also be able to address the press on behalf of the Azmeny government if you so wish. That will be the last stop before we take you back here for your departure. Overall, we expect your visit to take around 3 days in total. Unless of course, you decide to extend your stay. But we do not advise this for security reasons."

Ivan Savkin shook Swagon’s hand, and replied promptly “Thank you, Mr Swagon, it is an honour to be here, and I’m glad that his visit could be arranged at such short notice. It is in my hope, and that of my country that this visit is fruitful and productive.” Savkin looked at his watch briefly and continued. “The situation in Hintuwan is of great concern to the People’s Republic of Azmeny. We see a democracy under threat, and a dire humanitarian situation. Azmeny is therefore most concerned for the safety of people in Hintuwan, threatened by the CPH and sabre-rattling by foreign powers. Above all, I hope I can on behalf of my government act to help those affected by this tragic situation. It is a moral duty, after all.

Press photographers snap photographs as Savkin shakes hands with Swagon. The pictures stop when a grey-suited member of the minister’s entourage asks a question to Savkin, whispering to him in Azmen. “My colleague here asks about the security here for us in Hintuwan, but I’m sure it is perfectly acceptable.” Savkin appears confident, certainly not wanting to seem afraid in front of global press, but he too knows the dangers of his visit. After all, he has a wife and children in Azmenabad. Every state visit, he had a nagging fear he wouldn’t see them at last, and it was one he had learned to visit, a burden of his office. But he still feared it.

Swagon nodded in acknowledgment of Savkin's words, a faint smile touching his lips. "The honor is ours, Mr. Savkin. We share your hope for a fruitful and productive visit."

He listened attentively as Savkin expressed the concerns of the People's Republic of Azmeny, nodding in agreement with the gravity of the situation in Hintuwan. "Rest assured, Mr. Savkin, the safety and security of our guests are of paramount importance to us. We have taken every precaution to ensure your well-being during your stay here. A secret service detail will trail you and your delegation wherever you go and we will always have military units ready to mobilize if indeed there is a serious threat to your safety. Additionally, the state car we will be providing you with is equipped with bullet-proof steel and glass."

As the press photographers captured the moment, Swagon maintained a composed demeanor, his gaze steady and unwavering. When the question about security was also raised by one of the journalists gathered on the tarmac, he replied confidently, "Indeed, security measures have been implemented to safeguard all visitors. Not just to our partners in Azmeny. You can trust that we have taken all necessary steps to ensure everyone's safety if they follow proper protocol."

With a reassuring nod, Swagon signaled for the Azmen to proceed towards the waiting state car which would take them to their accomodations.

Chalet Rojo

President Bulalacao sat in his office at Chalet Rojo, observing the vibrant festivities of Bagumbuwan, the Lunar New Year, unfolding in the city below. The streets were alive with colorful lanterns, dragon dances, and the joyful sounds of celebration. His gaze drifted beyond the horizon to the reflection staring back at him—a visage weathered by the passage of time. At 77, he was well aware of the weight of his years, each line etched upon his face a testament to the stress of the job he had undertaken.

Bulalacao turned to his desk, where framed pictures of his family lay. His predecessors, the great men who once sat in his office, who led Hintuwan to where it is today all brought large families and the Chalet was meant to accommodate them. But the only two significant people in his life were miles away in his hometown of Pagagos, in San Bernardino. His wife Agustina managed the family estate; while his son - who should be in Haijing due to his status as an MP - had recently left the capital to attend to his constituents. With all the violence that was going on around them, Bulalcao made a point to pray for their safety every day.

Now, amidst the hollow privacy of the presidential palace, Bulalacao finally found himself alone with his thoughts. The visit of the Nacradian naval detachment had been a significant event, symbolizing the solidarity between allies in the face of external threats. Bulalacao was pleased with the strengthened ties between Hintuwan and Nacrad, recognizing the importance of standing together against common adversaries. Nacrad was an old ally of Hintuwan and had always come through for the Commonwealth government in the past. Of all the nations that had stated their support since the beginning of this operation, they were likely the most sincere.

The arrival of Ivan Savkin from Azmeny had stirred mixed emotions within him. While he appreciated the gesture of goodwill, Bulalacao couldn't shake off a sense of caution. He knew all too well the delicate balance of international relations, especially when dealing with nations with differing ideologies. What intentions did the Azmen government have with this conflict? Only time will tell.

As he read through the statement from the Union of Albanderite Socialist Republics (UASR), Bulalacao felt a surge of indignation. The portrayal of Hintuwan's government as puppets of foreign powers in another one of their inflammatory publications struck a nerve. He still believed in the sovereignty and independence of his nation, despite the challenges they faced. To Bulalacao, the UASR was nothing more but a nation of weaklings and schoolboys. Their meddling in Hintuwani affairs was near-certain, he just had to find a way to prove it.

"Old age," he thought, his mind wandering into the recesses of memory. "A companion as constant as the ebb and flow of the tides."

He recalled the days of his youth, filled with boundless energy and unwavering optimism, a time when the world seemed ripe with possibility. But now, as the years stretched out behind him like a vast expanse of untrodden road, he found himself confronting the inevitability of his mortality.

"Time is a relentless adversary," he murmured softly, his voice tinged with a hint of resignation. "It steals away our strength, dims the fire of our passion, and reminds us of our frailty."

Yet, even in the face of advancing age, Bulalacao refused to yield to despair. He drew strength from the wisdom accrued over decades of leadership, the lessons learned from triumphs and setbacks alike.

"I may be old," he conceded to himself, "but my resolve remains unshaken. There is still much work to be done, and I will not falter until my last breath."

Rising from his desk, President Bulalacao made his way to the window, gazing out at the bustling streets below. With determination in his eyes, he reaffirmed his commitment to steering Hintuwan through turbulent waters. He would crush the communist insurgents, eliminate the threats to his nation's sovereignty, and see his administration redeemed in the eyes of history - if it was the last thing he did.

Meanwhile, within Hintuwan, the first Faust trainers and staff arrive, with more material aid delivered to Hintuwan by the air, in the form of logistics vehicles that have been modified into gun trucks along with normal logistics vehicles intended to help move materials around with decent convoy protection in the form of gun trucks.

Even in spite of that, shipments of aid continue to Hintuwan, as the Gonswanzans continue to posture, though looming rumors of a Gonswanzan flagship due to arrive are openly broadcast, as if to spook the commies.

ISIC:
A Faust stronghold is made into an HQ just beyond the communist stronghold, using container ships off the shores of Van Hoorn, while another is made inland in Hintuwanese territory, beyond the communist region, in an old apartment complex turned into a data center.

In the offshore stronghold, intelligence is gathered from intelligence reports and used to direct forces, via secure data link to the inland HQ, bounced off several satellites while using heavy encryption. The HQ is obviously airgapped, while Faust forces use an old warehouse as a makeshift "kill house" training area for local police.

The sweltering heat of such a tropical port takes some getting used to in Februrary on the Nacradians' part, especially after departing in the midst of a miserable cold snap. The crew had already changed into their summer uniforms as they arrived into port, standing on deck sharply in attention in a sign of respect. Tugs guided the massive warships onto dock and the naval brows drop onto the concrete pier with a thud after lashings moor them securely onto the bollards.

As the final lines were made fast, Rear Admiral Chan stood at the top of the gangway waiting for the thumbs up. When the green light was finally given, she, accompanied by her other key officers and a few Nacradian sailors descend the forward brow in a tight file. No sooner did RAdm Chan's heel hit the ground, did the Hintuwanis waiting on dock immediately start saluting. Marching up to center herself on the crowd, Chan returns her salute sharply.

Marching up to Vice Admiral Salalila, she greets her Hintuwani counterparts. "G'day officers. I am Rear Admiral Ashley Chan, commander of the Carrier Strike Group Resolute of the Federation Navy of Nacrad. It's an honour to visit you."

In the background, sailors were busy finishing their berthing checklists, with a full day of R&R slated soon for the petty officers, hands were quick to get it ready.

The Azmen Diplomat sat down on the large bed in the room of the penthouse. He felt ill at ease, not quite sure what exactly he feared, but still afraid. The visit was important, and he was aware that any mistake on his part could cause the fragile state of CSL-KTO relations to deteriorate even further. I’m not qualified for this he thought to himself I don’t want to be the person to cause a world war. Tomorrow, he would be in Van Hoorn, the city at the heart of all this fighting.

He winced. He was old enough to remember the General’s war of 1989, though he was then a child. He remembered how the tanks encircled Azmenabad, the sound of rockets exploding like deathly fireworks in the distance, and the acrid smell of burning buildings. He thought back on how the blood had stained into the dusty streets where the bodies lay, and how he could do nothing, and how nobody could. He could therefore empathise with the despair and terror that the people of Van Hoorn must be feeling.

He brushed his teeth, anxious, tense, not quite at ease. The air conditioner was on full blast, and yet he felt as sweaty as in the humid, sticky air outside. His encrypted phone vibrated in his pocket. Just a file containing some notes, detailing the objectives for the day ahead. He checked his watch: 23:30, and thanks to his long journey, it felt later. He reluctantly lay down, but didn’t sleep.

Vice Admiral Salalila returned the salute with a firm nod and a warm smile. "Welcome, Rear Admiral Chan. I am Vice Admiral Marikudo Salalila, commander of the Commonwealth Navy of Hintuwan. The honor is ours to host you and your esteemed crew."

As they exchange pleasantries, sailors from both navies continued their duties, efficiently preparing for the ships' stay in port. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and mutual respect, despite the differences in uniform and nationality.

"I hope your journey was smooth, Rear Admiral," Vice Admiral Salalila continued. "We have a full itinerary planned for your visit, including joint training exercises and cultural exchanges. But first, let us ensure your crew settles in comfortably. If there's anything you need, please don't hesitate to let us know."

The vibrant colors of the flags of Nacrad and Hintuwan contrasted beautifully against the backdrop of the shimmering blue ocean and the bustling port. Among the crowd were sailors, civilians, and government officials, all eager to welcome the visiting Nacradian naval delegation. They cheered and applauded as the Nacradian sailors disembarked from their ships, expressing their gratitude for the solidarity between their two nations.

Children darted through the crowd, their faces lit up with excitement as they waved miniature flags in the air. The sound of laughter and chatter created a lively atmosphere of celebration. It was a heartwarming sight.

Haijing

In the hushed hours before dawn, the capital stirred from its slumber, the city gradually awakening to the soft caress of the morning light. The scent of incense wafted through the narrow alleyways, mingling with the tantalizing aroma of street vendors preparing their wares for the day ahead. From the bustling markets to the tranquil temples, life pulsed through the city like a heartbeat, each corner teeming with activity and anticipation.

As the first rays of sunlight kissed the rooftops, the streets came alive with the rhythmic cadence of footsteps and the hum of conversation. Workers shuffled to their posts, their faces etched with determination as they embarked on another day's labor. Rickshaw drivers weaved through the labyrinthine streets, their voices raised in cheerful banter as they navigated the bustling thoroughfares. On this particular day, however, their daily routine was interrupted by the sound of chanting and marching. The steady beat reverberated through the asphalt, drawing curious glances from passersby and halting conversations mid-sentence.

For many Hintuwani people, the mere mention of Azmeny conjured images of oppression, censorship, and totalitarian rule. The Collective Security League (CSL), of which Azmeny was a member, was viewed with suspicion and disdain by those who saw it as an encroachment on their nation's sovereignty. Among the most vocal opponents of the CSL and its member states were university students, impassioned and idealistic, who saw themselves as the vanguard of Hintuwan's struggle for independence and self-determination. When news of the exact location of Azmen diplomat's accommodations broke on social media, it was only a matter of time before they mobilized.

As the source of the chanting and marching drew nearer, the people of Haijing soon realized its origin—a throng of protestors marching with purposeful strides. A group of less than a hundred of them gathered at the base Haijing Peninsula Hotel, their voices rising in a chorus of dissent. They brandished banners adorned with the emblem of the organizations they represented - the Conservative Society of the University of Hintuwan, the National Vanguard Against the CSL, Alliance of Concerned Parents, and others - their impassioned cries echoing off the concrete facades of the surrounding buildings. They also carried a myriad of signs, each emblazoned with words that encapsulated their fervent beliefs and demands, such as: "Hands off Hintuwan! Azmeny go home!" "Protect our sovereignty! No to foreign influence!" "Remember the Kratangi!" "F*ck off Azmeny, Gestachia, and UASR!" "Azmeny: Communism tried, 100 million died!"

Among the demonstrators, a young man in military fatigues carrying a KTO flag and a loudspeaker stood at the forefront, his eyes burning with determination. With a fervent zeal, he led the chanting, his voice rising above the clamor of the crowd.

"Nemo me impune lacessit!" he shouted. No-one provokes me without impunity. It was the Commonwealth's national slogan and the royal family's motto, a phrase that symbolized the nation's defiant attitude towards the many foreign powers that had tried to enslave it throughout its long history.

At 6AM, Ivan Savkin felt his phone buzzing in his pocket, jolting him out of his reverie. 17 missed calls. Just as he began to drift back into his fitful slumber, a knock on the door startled him awake. Swagon, his escort and guide, stood outside. Accompanying him was a detachment of armed guards and other members of the Azmen delegation.

"Your Excellency," Swagon exclaimed, his voice urgent. "There's a crowd of students protesting outside, and things are escalating quickly. I'm sorry - these young men don't speak on behalf of our government but we need to evacuate you to safety immediately. They're blocking the main gate, so we can't come out the same way we came in. I've arranged for a chopper to pick us up from the roof."

As a familiar tune starts up on an MP3 player of an escorting destroyer, cruising alongside a Gonswanzan transport, the seas are rather calm, as USVs guide the container ship along to it's final destination. Even with a waiting fleet in the distance, they were simply laughed at, while pinged with radar locks to pester them, given war had yet to be declared.

However, there were other plans, as the container ship reached port safely, with the destroyer cruising off on its own mission.

In fact, several Gonswanzan ships have begun running routes around Hintuwan, cruising rather nonchalantly near the communist-occupied areas, only to then depart for deeper waters and return to guarding shipping lanes.

SIC:
They were working to gather electronic intelligence, though later Aegis class are posted off the coast, in order to reinforce the position, while Gonswanzan naval craft continue to taunt the beachgoers and communists there, daring them to strike first.

ISIC:
And yet, agents continue to flow in, with a daring operation using four Rondel class submarines to infiltrate the waters off Van Hoorn, landing agents upon the beaches by night intended to act as more radical units, purposefully equipped for sabotage in order to stir up unrest, along with aiding in leading protests turning into violent riots against the current regime ruling over the area. Psychological warfare assets, with some kinetic effect for a greater non-kinetic goal, in essence... Be it blowing bridges for the sake of "freedom" or gathering the masses like sheep to stand against a totalitarian rule that claims to be communist despite being more fascist-leaning than anything ever seen in this corner of the world.

Ivan Savkin awoke startled. He hastily fastened his shirt, put on his trousers, and hid the hammer-and-sickle lapel pin of the Azmen Communist Union he wore on his person. He did not know what was happening, but knew he was in trouble, in fact in great danger. They’re after me he thought I’ve overstepped my welcome. He felt ill at ease: this most likely spelled the end of the visit, but it hardly at all mattered. There was far more at stake.

Savkin glanced at the guards. Could he trust them? But then again, what choice did he have? If the guards betrayed him, he’d at least be killed by machine guns rather than an angry mob. It would certainly be quicker.

He looked out of the window onto the crowd outside. They were right, he was not safe here. Savkin saw the KTO flag, an ominous sight which hung over every military tragedy Azmeny had endured. Tens of thousands of Azmen had died because of it. He stepped into the chopper. He didn’t want to join them.

JARDENHAVENO
REVOLUTIONARY UNION OF CORNUCOPIA

Alceo Calderón hurried through the streets of Jardenhaveno, eager to escape the sweltering tropical summer sun. He had managed to avoid the worst of it via the city's extensive subway system, but alas, there was still some distance to go above ground before he reached his destination. With sweat beginning to drip down his face, he finally stepped through the revolving door into the cool, air-conditioned lobby of the headquarters of the Revolutionary Security Bureau. Formerly host to the Ministry for Agriculture prior to the revolution, it was not a particularly impressive building, large to be sure, but lacking in any particular stylistic flair or other notable features, not that the operatives of the Revseko particularly cared. It served its purpose, and that was more than enough.

Alceo made his way through security swiftly enough, his badge identifying him as one of the Bureau's senior analysts, and in any case the guards knew his face. As he entered the elevator that would take him down to various sub-basements of the building, dabbing away the sweat with a hankercheif, he was grateful for the rapidity of the proceedings. He was nearly late for his meeting, and his perspiration was not entirely due to the heat. His promotion to senior analyst had only come a few days ago, and today he was to be provided his first project by Director Engleton himself. Despite having spent some years with the Bureau, Alceo had only met the Director once before, and even then only briefly. He was something of a legendary figure within the Bureau, one of the original members of the International Revolutionary Communist Party and a veteran of the class struggle, with a career stretching back to even before its founding. Alceo was determined to make a good impression, demonstrating to the Director that he had what it took to serve the Bureau in his new role.

Nevertheless, he found himself hesitating for a few seconds before going to open the door to the Director's office, the enormity of the moment weighing down on him. Did he really deserve to be here? Could he ever hope to live up to these new responsibilities, the task of spreading and defending the revolution? He shook off these doubts and reached for the handle, but before he could turn it a voice echoed out from within the room. "Do come in!"

Alceo did as instructed, the sweat beginning to return as he stepped across the threshold. Director Engleton smiled as he entered, gesturing to the empty chair across from his desk. "Senior Analyst Calderón, yes? Please, take a seat. Would you like some tea?"

"Ah, n-no thank you, sir." Alceo stammered as he slid down into the chair. He didn't quite know what he'd been expecting, but he was pretty sure it hadn't been an offer of a hot beverage.

"More for me then!" Engleton said as he poured himself a cup in the small kitchenette that was apparently attached to his office. "And no need for 'sir', you can just call me Engleton, or, if you must, director. You're a senior now, we don't deal in those kind of bullshit formalities."

"I see, Director. May I ask, what is my first assignment as a senior?"

"Ah, straight to the point, I like it!" Engleton drily smiled as he slid a folder across the desk to Alceo. "The project I've selected for you is a big one, more so than what I'd normally give a first timer, but given your record I'm sure it's nothing you can't handle."

"Hintuwan? The island country?" Alceo began reading through the first document in the folder. "I was unaware we had any interests there."

"We didn't, until now. However, recent events present something of an opportunity for us, if we can properly exploit it."

"You're speaking of this insurgency by the Communist Party of Hintuwan, I presume?"

"You presume correctly! Admittedly, the party itself is only of limited usage to us, lacking the proper theoretical clarity required for proper revolutionary activity. Their terroristic strategy is proof enough of that. However, Hintuwan is in crisis, and this crisis is driving a surge in revolutionary sentiment. ut sentiment itself is nothing, it needs proper theoretical and political direction to amount to anything. Unfortunately, the only viable director at the moment is the Communist Party, and they are directing it towards useless acts of violence."

"So our objective is to redirect this sentiment in a more positive direction? Build up a proper revolutionary organisation?"

"More or less. Ideally, we could push the Communist Party towards the proper line in theory and praxis, but they are riddled with revisionists and opportunists, not helped by the meddling of crypto-bourgeois bastards like Gestachia and the UASR. As an already extant and well-established organisation, the Communist Party is well placed for our purposes. Your objective should be to bring as large a section of the party round to our way of doing things as possible. If we can harness their existing networks and support base, an actual revolution becomes that much more likely. A proper Hintuwan branch of the IRCP would be a bonus."

"I see." Alceo frowned, turning over the problem in his head as he continued through the contents of the folder, going through the details of the recent activity of the Communist Party and the response of the government. "How much leeway do I have for this project? What kind of resources do I have access to?"

"A hell of a lot. I've spoken to the Central Committee about this issue, and we've agreed that this represents a golden opportunity for genuine communism, if things can just be nudged in the right direction. Pretty much the only thing you can't do is start a war or command military assets, but otherwise the party has agreed that the Revseko is taking the lead on this one. You can mobilise whatever resources you need, subject to oversight of course."

"Oh. Well, um, that's... certainly quite a lot." Alceo blinked in shock.

"Well, I did say it was a big one, didn't I?" Engleton grinned. "Now, I think you'd better get started."

"Yes, of course." Alceo rose from his seat and began heading for the door before turning back to face Engleton. "I won't let you down, Director. I won;t let the revolution down."

Strangely, despite the enormity of the tak that lay before him, the sweat was all gone.

350 Miles off the Coast of Van Hoorn 12:50

The NWS Saviour was sailing 350 miles off its final destination, its mission was simple, deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Van Hoorn, who had been devastated by a bloody communist insurgency. The ship was 17 hours from its final destination when a crewman saw another ship on the horizon, not a friendly vessel, but a small cutter, flying the flag of the communists. The Saviour signalled their friendly intent, but still, the communist vessel boarded the Saviour, holding the crew hostage. After 3 hours, a fire broke out in the cargo hold. The communists jumped ship, and the crew lowered the lifeboats. 2 hours later, the saviour went underwater.

Needless to say, the Nyetoan's were not happy. As a show of force, 7 Missile Destroyers were sent to Hintuwan.

SIC: The attack on the saviour was perpetrated by the Nyetoan government as justification to go to war in Hintuwan.

In light of recent events, Gonswanzan operations intensify under the justification of Article 1, as now the escorts are being redirected to form a blockade around the communist occupied area, while infantry are beig flown over to provide a containment area around the zone. The general public may disagree with such measures, but it is deemed a necessary effort for "all mankind" as Ortiz guves a warning broadcast across Hintuwan and the illegally occupied zone taken by insurgents.

The time for surrender has come and gone, terrorists. Scourge of the earth, preying upon the weak and defenseless. We know who supports you, and so we shall pay back the favor owed in kind. We offered peace, yet you seek war. So be it. As we speak, operations ito the zone shall intensify in magnitude, as not only have you attacked the KTO, but you now dare to strike other alliances as well. Hence, even if Hintuwan refuses aid from the KTO, as a member, I must follow my duty to deliver on Article 1. Nobody can save you now from what comes next, regardless of the excuses made. Judgement day is upon you. Look up to the sky and weep.

ISIC:
Operatives within the occupied zone deliver data of targets in real time, as drones are now en route to the zone as Gonswanza prepares to mobilize forces for a drone war against the communists, now finding reason to strike and escalate.

However, the blockade was also instructed to block CSL ships, and any shipping in general, keeping them away from the communist zone as well as attempting to create a no-fly zone as well.

Thundering over the jungle was a flight of F-4 Phantoms.
In the lead plane was Lt. Okasen. Thanks to both allied recon, they had a couple of locations that were believed to be CPH bases. This would be the first combat flight for the other four men, at least in this aircraft. Okasen's plane, like the other four carried two GBU-31 bombs and was armed with twin 20mm Hispano autocannons, as well as one M61 Vulcan for strafing runs.
"Release payloads in 5...4...3...2...1... NOW!" With her command, nearly ten tons of precison-guided high explosives rained down over the jungle. Switching frequency, she reported back to Mikhalsen, " Operation successful."

10:30 a.m., HBS-PEC News Channel (HNC)

[Opening scene: HNC News intro with a billboard of all the network's major broadcasters]

News Presenter: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Teodoro Rômbang. You're watching Overview, bringing you the country's latest news, seven days a week. Here are the latest headlines for today, 13th of February, 2024."

[Camera cuts to Teodoro Rômbang sitting at the news desk, a serious expression on his face.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "Our top story this morning comes from right here in Haijing, where anti-communist protests have erupted outside the Haijing Peninsular Hotel. The demonstrations were reportedly sparked by the presence of Ivan Savkin, the Exterior Minister of Azmeny, who was seen leaving the building via helicopter amidst the unrest."

[Cut to footage of the protests outside the hotel, with crowds of people waving signs and chanting slogans against communism.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "In other news: a positive development for the Hintuwani economy. Economists report signs of recovery, thanks to significant subsidies from the Allanean government. These subsidies, particularly in the information systems and telecommunications sector, are breathing new life into Hintuwan's industries. The Lan Guó region in particular is seeing a nosedive in infant mortality rates and the Ministry of Health reports that the rural population is becoming increasingly immune to common diseases."

[Cut to footage of bustling city streets and workers in offices, accompanied by graphics illustrating the growth in the information systems and telecommunications sector.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "The Republic of Greater Marine and the Democratic Republic of Nyetoa have announced limited aid to Hintuwan. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hintuwan thanked both governments and stated that they would be invited as official foreign partners in the ongoing Operation Southern Sentinel. The Marinian AMNS Mercy and Nyetoan NWS Saviour have been sighted joining the Nacradian fleet currently docked in Cape Favre."

[Cut to images of the Sirius Eagle Eye and United Technologies Kestrel surveillance UAV systems being unloaded from transport aircraft, as well as the hospital ship AMNS Mercy arriving in Cape Favre.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "And in a statement Gonswanzan leader Laura Ortiz declared that the time for surrender has passed for the terrorists operating in Hintuwan. Promising intensified military operations, Ortiz affirmed Gonswanza's commitment to fulfilling its duty as a member of the KTO, vowing to deliver justice to those who dare to threaten regional stability."

[Cut to a video clip of Laura Ortiz delivering her statement, with dramatic music playing in the background. The camera then cuts back to Teodoro Rômbang.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "We begin today's show by covering the Anti-Azmeny protests. Here's Natalie Hapyaytha with more."

[Opening scene: The camera pans over a group of demonstrators gathered at the base of the Haijing Peninsular Hotel]

Natalie Hapyaytha: "Good morning, viewers. I'm here live at the Haijing Peninsular Hotel, where a group of demonstrators has gathered to voice their opposition to Azmeny's presence in Hintuwan. The atmosphere here is tense as protesters express their fervent beliefs and demands. Less than a hundred of them have gathered, but their presence is palpable as they chant slogans and wave signs denouncing Azmeny's involvement in Hintuwan's affairs. The memory of past conflicts and the fear of foreign influence loom large in their minds, fueling their passionate protests."

[Cut to interviews with demonstrators expressing their grievances and demands.]

Protester 1: "What I don't understand is the secrecy behind this visit. Why wasn't the public informed of it in advance? If no-one's doing anything wrong then there's nothing to hide. We won't stand idly by while Azmeny tries to meddle in our country's affairs. Hintuwan belongs to the Hintuwani people, not to foreign powers!"

Protester 2: "They claim to be a 'democratic' socialist republic, but really they're all the same. The fact that they don't openly condemn Socialist Gestachia and the UASR speaks plainly enough."

Protestor 3: "Why did we invite the Azmens here in the first place? What do they hope to accomplish? Is President Bulalacao going to make us join the CSL? What about our relationship with KTO?"

Natalie Hapyaytha: "Tensions remain high in Haijing. This morning we received sporadic reports of parallel protests happening at the University of Hintuwan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs however at this time, they have mostly seem to have dispersed. Here at the Haijing Peninsular Hotel, protestors are also starting to disperse in lieu of the news that Exterior Minister Savkin has left the building. Back to you, Teddy."

[Cut back to the studio.]

Teodoro Rômbang: "Stay tuned as we continue to bring you updates on these developing stories throughout the day. I'm Teodoro Rômbang, and you're watching Overview."

[Camera zooms out as the broadcast transitions to advertisements.]

Gravediggers of the Revolution: Azmeny
Written By People's Tribune Editorial Board

Often times traitors first appear as friends. The uninformed would look at a republic like Azmeny and assume they were comrades in struggle, principled and willing to support proleterian internationalism.

The citizens of the UASR know better.

Azmeny recently has been on a foreign diplomacy spree, cozying up to foreign capitalists at every corner, eager to sell out its own country to the highest bidder and its most recent potential buyer? Hintuwan.

We've covered Hintuwan extensively in our publication, and for good reason. It has one of the most advanced Communist revolutionary movements in the world right now. But where revolutionary optimism flares up, counter-revolutionary opportunism rears its ugly head.

Azmeny recently tried, and failed, to maintain a secret meeting with the government of Hintuwan, but it did not take long for the people of Hintuwan to catch wind of what was clearly a secret attempt at foreign meddling.

Comrades, Azmeny is what many would, correctly, label as 'Social-Imperialist'. Socialist in name, IMPERIALIST, in action! Their goal is to make profits for Azmeny monopolies by crushing revolutionary forces within Hintuwan.

The people of Hintuwan see through this disguise, and mass protests have occurred outside of the hotel where imperialist vultures are given the red carpet treatment. Funny that the devils of Azmeny can enjoy luxurious goods and high quality royal treatment while the people of Hintuwan struggle in poverty, often times living in literal junkyards.

Image
The "Five Star" luxuries the common citizen of Hintuwan 'enjoys'

The irony of a self proclaimed socialist state upholding this abject poverty and violent exploitive system is palpable. For the errors of other socialist actors in Hintuwan, they never stoop to this low. It is evident Azmeny isn't just social-imperialist, but rather

Azmeny .. is..

FASCIST!

Public Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UASR

The Union of Albandrite Socialist Republics (UASR) vehemently denounces the nation of Azmenzy for its egregious acts of social imperialism and fascism, which flagrantly betray the principles of proletarian internationalism.

Azmeny's oppressive regime has systematically suppressed the revolutionary left, trampled upon the human rights of its citizens and promoted imperialist agendas at the expense of solidarity among oppressed peoples. The UASR views Azmeny's actions as a grave betrayal of the shared values of the international socialist community.

Therefore, in response to Azmeny's abhorrent behavior and within the interest of the people of both Albandry and the revolutionary forces across the globe, the UASR hereby announces the severance of all political ties with Azmeny.

The UASR stands in firm solidarity with those who strive for freedom, equality and justice. We condemn Azmeny's actions in the STRONGEST possible terms.

Signed,
Connor Boyd
Foreign Minister of the UASR

Azmeny hits back at ‘baseless’ UASR allegations: confirms $50 billion in aid to Hintuwan

The Azmen Exterior Ministry has responded to recent allegations by the Union of Albandrite Socialist republic, stating them as baseless. In an address on state TV, President Yuri Korolev confirmed in a speech, discrediting the allegations of the UASR and their ideological bent.

The President also confirmed the decision of the National Diet to provide $50 billion in foreign aid to the crisis-afflicted Asian nation of Hintuwan, which has struggled with an armed insurgency by the so-called Communist Party of Hintuwan. The Azmen government has confirmed that a flight containing medical supplies has taken off from Azmanev airport, with several more to follow in the upcoming days.

The Azmen President gave a short televised address on the matter:

“It appears some of our purported socialist friends have turned out to not be our friends, and not even socialist. The Union of Albandrite Socialist Republics is no workers state, it is merely a sprawling dictatorship led not by the people, but a red-masked bourgeoisie which dares call itself the communist party.

The people have no role in their society, and their labour is stolen by the bourgeois regime, they have no ability . Yes comrades, the proletariat are indeed alienated by their labour like under the capitalist system.

True socialism needs true democracy. A people’s state cannot be built without the will and approval of the people, as without this they lose the power over the means of production. They become cogs in the growing machine of state capitalism. The UASR meanwhile, despite pretending to count votes is actually an iron fisted dictatorship led by the corrupt apparatus of the bureaucracy.

This simple truth has been forgotten by the UASR and CPH have forgotten this on grounds of convenience, the same reason why they forgot the $50 billion of foreign aid we’re promising Hintuwan. We understand the government of Hintuwan, and the people of Hintuwan have little ground to trust us, but I would like to say we can work together and bridge the gap between our nations.

OOC: sorry to be rude, this is purely IC I’m very sorry about what I’ve been doing on NS to other nations, I don’t mean any of this speech OOC

Indeed, it was a good day to live, as drone operators sit down for yet another mission.

IC:
Over the occupied regions, drones quietly buzz through the air, tracking movement, as larger hunter-killer drones probe the airspace. Down below, Faust forces patrol the "border", acting on their own command, while waiting for orders. They didnt seem to notice or care for a distabt explosion from a drone strike, hardly flinching in fact.

"Target confimed. Engaging."

Thats all that was said before a singular TV guided missile was fired against a socialist camp in the jungle, spotted on IR, before it was sent sky high in a blaze of glory.

"Hit."

"And... Thats the first kill. Keep em coming boys!"

THE SPARK
From a spark a flame will flare up

The Scourge of False Socialism

It is an unfortunate fact that the history of the revolutionary communist movement is continuously scarred by revisionists, opportunists and other falsifiers. Anarchists, social-democrats, democratic socialists, national-communists, the labels adopted by these false friends of the proletariat are truly endless. And yet, it must be understood that despite the apparent kaleidoscopic variety of the 'left', they all share a singular essence: that of the bourgeoisie. No matter how much they 'condemn' capitalism, their critiques are unable to skewer the heart of the matter, for in truth they are its defenders, merely the left-wing of capital itself.

The false revolutionaries are perhaps the greatest threat to the communist movement, more so than even those who are openly reactionary, and there are none worse than the nations who proclaim themselves to be socialist and seek to suborne the international revolutionary movement for their own interests. 'Social-imperialism' is an unnecessary term, there is nothing social about it. They are simply bog-standard imperialists, no different from any other bourgeois power, regardless of how they attempt to cloak themselves in red flags and radical phraseology. It is the duty of revolutionary communists everywhere to tear of their masks and reveal them for what they are: merely bourgeois liberals who are not one iota closer to communism than any of the openly capitalist states.

Take, for example, the People’s Republic of Azmeny. Already we see a 'red flag' with the invocation of the mythical 'people', a bourgeois illusion that conceals the reality of the class struggle. And we assure you, the class struggle is alive and well in Azmeny, despite their pretensions to socialism. We see this in their politics, where different parties represent different class interests via the mediation of democracy, typical of bourgeois states, and we of course see this in their economy, which contains money, enterprises, and exports, with even their 'aid' to Hintuwan (in truth aid to the teetering bourgeois regime) being predominantly monetary in nature. The introduction of socialism means the abolition of commodity production, the abolition of the money system, the razing of capitalism to its foundations and the subsequent socialisation of all the means of production. We see no such thing in Azmen history, nor any indication that they are attempting to transition towards a socialist economy presently. Instead, we find all the signs of capitalist economy and politics, and therefore the existence of different classes and the class struggle, just as we would expect to see in any other capitalist state.

Now, a casual observer, cognizant of the recent diplomatic spat between Azmeny and the Union of Albandrite Socialist Republics but unaware of our own positions, might take the above analysis to be a signal of our support for the UASR. Nothing could be further from the truth, for the UASR, despite being somewhat more adept at play-acting at being a revolutionary state, is in truth no less bourgeois than Azmeny. The Supreme People's Assembly (note that word again!) represents different class interests through different political parties, not unlike the Azmen National Diet, even if they are in thrall to the 'Communist' Party. Furthermore, the economic functions of the UASR's government are highly revealing: it controls monetary policy, prices(!), wages(!!), and the state budget, all characteristic of capitalist economies. As noted above, socialism necessitates the abolition of the money system, and a society based on wages paid in money is a non-communist, propertarian society, even if there are no private landowners or capital-owners. We know that there is already some discontent with the course of the 'revolution' in the UASR, that there are those who believe it can be saved by simply pushing for 'radical' positions within the Party itself. To these elements we say that what is needed is not a cultural revolution, merely targeting the superstructure, but a genuine proletarian revolution that will shatter the capitalist economic base.

To the proletarians of Azmeny, the UASR, and all other states who profess socialism in words yet capitalism in deeds, our message to you is the same as it has always been to proletarians everywhere: Workers of the world, unite! We have nothing to lose but our chains!

The Sentinel of the Blue Star
The official newspaper of the Red Workers' Party of Gestachia and the People's Republic of Socialist Gestachia
On the words of traitor Yuri Korolev and Kornukopio's analysis of the socioeconomic analysis of socialist states.
By the Politicom of the Red Workers' Party of Gestachia
Today traitor of the workers' movement, the President of the so called "People's Republic" of Azmeny Yuri Korolev made a statement bashing the of Union of Albandrite Socialist Republics due the People's Tribune reporting the humiliating diplomatic defeat at the hands the Hintuwani people.

He spouted spouted his usual reactionary third way bluff and said how socialism needs to accomplished via sunshine, rainbows, ballot boxes, singing, and peace and promptly attacked the UASR socioeconomic system by calling it a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie and failing to say how. We're sorry "comrade" Yuri, but true socialism needs an absolute, resolute, authoritarian, unquestioning, totalitarian dictatorship of the proletariat, not some joke that appeals to the bourgeois' democrometer® scale and licks their boots. Kornukopio stated exactly how Azmeny's political system fails to institute the dictatorship of the proletariat: "We see this in their politics, where different parties represent different class interests via the mediation of democracy, typical of bourgeois states."

This nicely brings us to comment on Kornukopio's indirect criticism of our Party and our Government. They are right. We are not communists, nor did we ever claim to be, we do not have a communist party, nor is the word used anywhere in our constitution, we are honest and open about this. However it wrong to degrade our socialist system as "state-capitalist" as there is no private exploitation of the means of production. The means of production is owned by the government, the government has the power from the party, and the party has its power from the people, nearly anyone can be a party member or be in our government if they commit to it, both things that cannot be said in capitalism. While Marx & Engels might've envisioned socialism to have parity with communism, the definitions words change over time, cannons just meant to mean bombards, now a cannon is anything from a bombard to a naval gun, the same applies with socialism. As much as we want to haven't perused the Kornukopiaj system because there is a very real risk of it becoming unstable in a hostile capitalist world, however we wish them success and will provide them support wherever needed.
