I love the British. They've been our closest allies in the Cold War, everything gone down since 9/11, WW I and II, etc.

It would be ungrateful at this stage of American history to have any kind of bad feelings for them.

The Germans aren't afraid of war, I think. I think they're afraid of what will happen if they even look like they're doing something aggressive to another country.

Possibly.

And I notice you didn't tell me I was wrong about France.

Well, to be fair, I was pointing more at continental Europeans, like the French and Germans.

They have better experience with what war actually means. England took a bunch of bombs in London and some elsewhere, but didn't get their whole country ravaged, while we have never experienced war at home since the 1860's. That is why we are so casual about inflicting horrors on other countries far away, and why the UK will often go along with it.
Life is a tragedy to those who feel, a comedy to those who think, and a musical to those who sing.

I am the very model of a Nation States General,
I am a holy terror to apologists Confederal,
When called upon to source a line, I give citations textual,
And argue about Palestine, and marriage homosexual!
