First, propose some ridiculous and outrageous change to the functional (note: important) system. Some examples are:
- The age of consent should be abolished, [1]
- Children should be dressed up in drag and serenaded in front of sexually charged men like strippers, [1], [2]
- People with penises should use the same bathrooms as people with vaginas, [1], [2]
- People should be given jobs or places at university based on their race, [1], [2]
- (and it should not be possible to fire them) [1]
- People should be given money in exchange for not having a job, [1], [2]
- And many others besides.
Fascinating that you've put "help oppressed people" and "increase economic equality" in with "we should molest children." Your ardent opposition to equity almost makes it seem like you're a reactionary right-winger masquerading as a leftist :^)
Secondly, when ordinary people attack these ideas precisely because they're obviously dsyfunctional and crazy, rather than just weird or incomprehensible, progressives hope to attack and browbeat them. The choice to attack plainly functional parts of society and propose replacing them with dysfunctional ideas offers progressives two major tactical options: (a) normal people easily get baited by such ideas (imagine if I went to work and proposed that I got money for not turning up and that it would impossible to fire me) precisely because they are so dysfunctional and stupid and (b) tactical flexibility in choosing whatever topic they want. Notice how progressives easily swap from one area (children should be allowed to watch pornography) to the next (sex work should be promoted) easily, confusing normal resistance.
Thirdly, when this tactical direction works, ordinary people repent and apologise for resisting the demands, and progressives can move to the next thing. This is how they were able to legalise crime and fill the airwaves with ridiculous sexual propaganda, eliminating the stuffy educationalist media of the past — just two examples. When ordinary people say er, no that's a terrible idea, progressives can double down. They bait a lot of people into their idea and then attack them for heresy and hope they repent. They often do. In the face of aggression, most people compromise or become quiet, because most people are playing a co-operate/co-operate game in society — the heuristic that if they act in a co-operative way, others will too. But progressives don't play this game; they're defectors, because they've realised if they opt out of this trust system they can get people to do what they want.
This is just total bullshit with no rational response so
Fourthly, ordinary people sometimes resist. Not always in the most helpful of ways. Progressives went too hard on the "countries shouldn't have borders" angle in 2016, resulting in Brexit and Trump. They made a tactical blunder, but they're coming back. You need to know how to resist progressives, by having the strength of mind not to just accept that you are a heretic, but embrace it as well.
Imagine misunderstanding global geopolitics this bad jfc
Progressive advocacy for "countries not having borders" is not the reason for Brexit and Trump, this is a PragerU-level bad take
