Latin American progressivism is mostly concerning economics (hence the popularity of socialist parties there). Outside of Uruguay (remove a "u" and you'll get the joke), it's a pretty socially conservative place.

True. Sadly we tend to vote for incompetent people in office. Hence why a central American nation wanted to adopt bitcoin as their currency

I have been to Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara numerous times and they are not vacation areas. They were fine. I felt safer in Guadalajara than I have ever felt in a lot of American cities.

I didn't get to mention this, but Colombia had their Congressional elections on Sunday, and left parties actually came out ahead.

Their presidential vote's in two months, and I'll have a post on that here as soon as I can sit down for as long as needed.

This is a good head start. I'm curious if the Liberals and Union Party for the People would join a left-wing coalition, or if they would be neutral or even prop up a right-wing government. Well, time will tell.

'El Bronco' could be liberated after the initial audience, says its defense.
In an interview with Grupo Imagen this morning, Victor Olea, lawyer of Jaime Rodriguez said that his client could be liberated because the crimes he committed are not worth preventive imprisonment. The Ex-governor will present his audience this Wednesday at 4 PM.

Right now he is Apodaca, after being detained by the FEDE of the state. Rodriguez Calderon is being investigated for supposedly diverting public resources for his campaign after the now governor Samuel Garcia presented a complaint about the case of the so-called "Broncofirmas". At this moment, Rodriguez Calderon has not said anything about the charges he is being accused of.

Lula is going to win via rigged election Brazil as the entire media apparatus is on his side, but regardless Bolsonaro is done as he's lost support of the military and half of his base to Moro (who might be a CIA plant). Gomes is a meme and won't amount to anything.

Colombia and Chile are about to go far-left. Chile is probably boinked but it will be recoverable. I worry for Colombia but there's enough US fuckery in the country that I doubt much will change.

Argentina's economy continues to be a joke.

AMLO in Mexico is based and is under seige by neoliberals from all sides.

That is all.

Yeah! There was a poll on Twitter asking who would betray Mexico if the US declared war on us. Nuevo Leon smashed those polls

The people here think we are keeping the country stable economically, and that without Nuevo Leon, Mexico would be in a worse situation

Bolsonaro won a rigged election in 2018, far more rigged than what the 2022 one is going to amount to. At least Lula isn't spamming WhatsApp with political campaigns.

Just....no. Boric is left-wing at best and his policies are classic social democracy. And given how massively unpopular the right-wing government of Colombia is, they get what they deserve.[/quote]

Bullshit. I have my doubts that it was a free and fair trial. Plus, he should be being tried at The Hague in all honesty.

Nah he should be serving a life sentence. The only people who deserve to rot in a prison for eternity are war criminals and genocidal dictators. That is my opinion.
