What time do you eat dinner?

Now, I tend to eat dinner late by American standards...if I'm workign the closing shift, it will usually be between midnight and 1 AM...however, even today, my day off, I'm only now (8:40 PM) even considering starting to cook dinner. My roommate usually eats around 6. Growing up, most of my friends ate around 5 or 6, while my family was more around 7.

When I was in France, the family I stayed with was more like 8 or 9...maybe 10.

So...when do you eat your final big meal of the day?

Usually between 6:30 and 9:00. Dinner came at 8:30 today.

depends on several factors, when I ate lunch, if i had to work, if so, when I got off, if not, when I get hungry...

My work-shifts dictate when I eat... so I probably eat at about midnight or 1am.

When I'm not working, we probably eat evening-type-food an hour or so before the lil ones go to bed.... so 7 or 8 probably. (or, because lil ones are like that, any time up till about midnight....)

Although I tend to graze in the evening more than eat a standard dinner. I ate breakfast at 8 today, and lunch at about... 4:30? So I won't have another meal today, but I'll snack.

Weird actually, I was just considering starting dinner myself. But then again, most days I'm not even home until at least 7.

Same here...if I am home by...say...6, I generally don't want to walk in the door and immediatly have to start cooking.

When I'm at home I usually eat between 6:00 and 6:30pm. At university, I head over to the dining hall anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 depending on my mood after my last class of the day and how hungry I am.

Most of the time I try to eat dinner before 7PM, so I can fully digest it before going to sleep. During the summer I eat dinner closer to 10PM, though, since I stay out until 4-7AM (depending on the day).

Perhaps it's because I rarely sleep, but I dont believe in the 24 hour clock. So I pretty much eat dinner whenever I'm in the mood. For instance, I'm considering making a sandwich.

We try to eat around 7:30pm because my husband doesn't get off work until 5:30 sometimes and I need some winding down time before I cook. (alternatively if he's cooking we eat at like 6 because he just wants to eat and then be done for the night, he only cooks like 1 night a week unless I've had a bad day, then he cooks because I don't feel like it)

We eat late, too, 8,9, even 10. I'd prefer to eat a bit later and not go to bed soon after a major meal but hey. (We really do need a shrug smilie.)

Anytime between 5:45 and 7:15, depending on the state of organisation.

When I'm working regular 08.00 - 16.30 days, I eat around 18.00 as my schedule after work is pretty tight. Usually I don't get off work until 17.00-17.30, I get home, eat dinner I've usually prepared in advance and then I have swimming or the gym or whatever type of exercise strikes my fancy around 19.00. Social things after that. So I wouldn't be able to eat at any other time. During the weekends, if I'm off, I tend to try to stick to 18.00 because of regularity - keeping even blood sugar levels is important, so breakfast at 07.00, snack around 10.00, lunch 12.30, snack 15.30 and dinner 18.00 are pretty much fixed times.

When on call, eating is a solitary 10-minute luxury the timing of which is impossible to plan.
