I did that for a short period of time (or so I intended) because of some arguments that sprang up. It was meant to be a short break to wait for things to settle down.

I don't post so much myself at the moment because I am busier than usual (although it's holidays right now), but taking a break, at least from a particular nation (as in your own, i.e. post with a puppet for a bit, if not just stop posting and reading), is definitely something that I would endorse if anyone were to consider doing so for whatever reason. I had a holiday puppet myself for a bit. Was very refreshing.
