Do what I do for Secret Santa--let voters know that if they haven't received a confirmation TG within X hours (I usually do 24), they need to resend.

TBH, I'm regretting attaching my unlimited inbox to my main account rather than this one for that reason. Maybe I can purchase another sponsorship for this one--it's not that expensive.

NS thread polls are more secret than a TG poll. With the thread poll, users have to trust the site administrators. With a "poll" by TG, users have to trust the site administrators AND whoever runs the poll.

Putting this in the previous post would have taken that post over 60,000 characters.

That had occurred to me. However, I ruled it out, because its impractical. There's only 10 options, meaning that you'd have to have a primary to determine who gets put in the poll. But THEN, you'd have to list each award/primary winner combination. Which is impossible due to the structuring of the poll system.
