Nope, he found that when people die, they lose just a little bit of weight. However, just based on the fact that he was never published and there was only, like, one witness, we can't really say he proved anything.

Not to mention his methodology was completely out of whack and subsequent experiments found that his results were non-reproducible.

My guess is, he made it all up.

I am an atheist. I was raised as a Christian from birth, attended church every Sunday, and attended other church events. When I was about 12 I started questioning things, I realized that the Bible was illogical and unscientific. As a result, I did research. By research I mean reading books, watching documentaries, talking to my preacher, looking up stuff online (when is what most people online mean when they say 'research'), and even reading the Bible in its entirety. While it took me a long time to finally make up my mind on this issue, over a year actually, I am now sure when I say that I am an atheist.

My story is nearly exactly the same, except for that it took me a few more years than you to begin doubting the faith that had been drilled into me. Does your Christian family know about your atheism? I am still a closet atheist living in the Bible Belt.

I used to be a Christian, but am an Atheist now.
I feel that religion collides with logic and science, and more than anything, there is no evidence for God.
I would also like to say, the burden of proof is on religion, not us. They have none, so Atheism is only logical.

I'm Atheist.
I have slight short periods of Agnosticism here and there, thanks to a good friend of mine who's crazy-ass New Age religion makes more sense than any other. Though I treat his god not as a god, but as a highly advanced alien being in those flashes of agnosticism.

What happened was, I delved into the depths of [my original] religion, trying to understand it. And I came back understanding everything. It's simply a way ancient people tried to explain the world with what they knew and what they imagined. Also some dude who was such a good prophet of a religion, that he was blasphemously named son of god and had his own religion started around him by his drinking buddies.

Needless to say, back then, they didn't know much, so the ancients came up with bullshit.
Logically, all of it is just that, bullshit. There's a small chance life on Earth got there by Intelligent Design, but said Intelligent Design is not a deity, it's a life form like ours, from a different planet. That is very very very very implausible but possible nonetheless.

There is no god. There might be highly advanced ''Precursor'''-like beings out there. There definitely is Entropy. And Entropy is what created us.

There was actually a really interesting article about that in Scientific American. Apparently a lot of complexity comes in when neutral mutations occur that make something slightly more complex, and complexity builds on that, and then when suddenly pressures arise that select out anything without the full structure it becomes the norm, so something that seems like it might have been unable to evolve actually can.

You realise the biblical character is not the only "god", right? (Though they seem just as unlikely to exist...)

It does. I don't have ''I BELIEB NAO'' moments, I have ''Maybe he's somewhat right, can't be certain'' moments followed by a ''Naaw, fuck that'' and back to Atheism.

Some religions specifically reject war. The Bible of the Church of the Walken God states specifically we are to "slay not". The scripture on The Deer Hunter particularly criticizes war.
