I have little idea what is going on here, so I'm just going to state my thoughts on the issues



Rape:
Horrible, but tolerable. I feel rape should be, and this may sound awful, downlplayed. Punishment for rape should be diminished, with priority given to other crimes attached to it. Thus, victims of rape would be less likely to be murdered or kidnapped to cover it up- as then their punishment would only be more severe. It'd also help against violent rape, I imagine, in which the victim gets beaten in the process...
I would hope that in doing so, rape becomes perhaps more common (unfortunate), but who knows- maybe less. But primarily: It becomes more survivable.
Nothing makes me feel more sad then hearing about someone who was raped and murdered, or kept in captivity for years, or even at all. In my heart, I'd rather see it become more frequent but something easily survivable then something all the more tragic and life ending.
More support should be given to the victims of these crimes, the government covering costs derived from a rape... Just my thoughts.

Sexual Harrassment:
Awful but unavoidable. That is the world we live in... where pigs can do as they please with little fear of retribution. There are only two apartment complexes viable for me to try to live in away from home, however BOTH are noted for sexual harassment and general ass-ness of the landlords.

Abortion:
Abortion is fairly case by case, in general I think it is wrong, but in certain situations it would be obvious that the person should get a pass.
My ideas on Abortion are different for early stage embryos, I am pro-stem cell research. I don't see a problem in using what isn't even really a life yet, just another biological reaction within a body. Which makes me think that in the future, "Abortion" should be close to abolished and replaced with donations, removing the embryo when it is first forming for research and potential cures.

Birth Control:
Why anyone would deny birth control is beyond me. In a world where males tend to demand sex, it confuses me while the same world would want to restrict birth control.

Slut Shaming:
Similar to the above. The primary reason fashion has gone down that road is a cultural thing developed because males like it. Not very often at all is such fashion worn because it's comfortable.

Body Image:
High standards should be set in certain situations, but not the air-brushed crap that fills magazines today.

Violence:
Horrible. The idea of someone overpowering anyone who can't defend themselves sickens me. I for example AM very capable, one of the primary things in my life is a talent for... well, war arts. Almost anything related to defending yourself or delivering harm to others comes naturally to me, and I've taken many different classes throughout my life so far.
I COULD overpower most people, but it makes me wither inside to think such thoughts. Such as when a brother (I have way too many brothers...) wont move out of the way and is being a dick in general, I could use force and put him on the ground or anything to the effect of removing him from the situation, but I do not. Because while I seem to be naturally a violent person, I'm just to darned tender at heart.

Gender Roles:
Gender roles are fairly laughable. I believe anyone can fulfill any role they put their mind to. But then, I come from a family background of strong women and fairly... I wanna say useless men but that's too insulting. Hm... Well I can't think of a better phrase.
I've seen my aunt lift an entire couch that took three men to carry efficiently. She just sort of kung-foo rolled it up to her back and hefted it up a flight of stairs like it was nothing. (Maybe things like this is why her back is causing her so much problems these days XD)

The phrase "Get back to the Kitchen!" "Shouldn't you be in the kitchen?" "Lol, maybe in the kitchen" or anything to that effect pisses me off like no other. I feel all heated just thinking about it.

Media:
Media is awful. Just awful. "Sex Sells!" BS... but unfortunately true.

Porno-Prosti:
Very related to media... I can't really find words for this matter that aren't too obvious. Naturally, many women tend to get pushed, or even forced into these roles. But pornographic content is becoming so prevalent that many people are starting to look to it as an ideal, or a valid option instead of a last resort, or even thinking of it as a last resort at all is still not something that should really be considered.

Workforce:
I can't comment on this as I have no experience with it. I don't have a job, I don't really think about jobs (The thought gives me a headache... I'm a graduate by several months now. I've still got some time... Or so I tell myself). In general, women who do have jobs that I know are fairly successful and are in settings where they aren't exposed to such things. There is a long standing tradition of teaching dance in various forms, something they tend to do on their own in their own businesses all connected under one name established by a very strong female line tracing at least all the way back to my Great Grandmother- who is still alive and running a dance studio as well. I think my Great-Great Grandmother was a doctor.
My father's side of the family is very male dominate, but my grandmother there seems strong as well, she was very hard working and into design and architecture/construction.

Discrimination in general:
I hate discrimination, but it's a fact of life that every one, and every group, will be discriminated against for anything. Stereotypes, assumptions. It all happens. The line between Male and Female however, is something that annoys me.

However, I fear I myself discriminate a lot against males. I have six of them in my family, all my brother seem annoying to me. Every dang time I need to sit down to use the toilet I ALWAYS have to clean the seat first... The three youngest brothers are the worst. Self centered, always complaining about anything, always looking for something to blame someone else for. Always negative. Ugh, If I grow up to somehow "Cure" Male-isim itself it wouldn't be surprising. (Or genocide of 90% of male life. But I'm too nice to be a murderer Much better to "cure" them. )

The idea that females 'under report' rape is absurd. False rape accusations are more than rampant enough, and the idea that 95% of all rape is unreported is ... Insane. Literally mad.

Your source has no hard statistics, hence, it is largely irrelevant. Harassment is not a huge problem, and there are numerous agencies and in fact, an incredible amount of passed regulations and laws that prevent harassment. Anti-Harassment policies are rife throughout society.

Topic: Abortion
Abortion should be fully legal, yes. As should the right of a woman to give her children up for adoption without the consent of the father. The father should also be able to waive all responsibility to the children within the same time period as the female. You also fail to provide any sources.


Topic: Birth Control
Birth control is readily available across the western world. Male birth control (potency eliminators), were lobbied against by feminists, and is completely unavailable in the US western world.

Are you kidding? A large amount of 'slut shaming' is due to mainstream feminism, damning women for being comfortable with their sexuality, and adhering to the desires of the patriarchy(TM). If you don't want to be told that the way you're dressing is 'slutty' or 'provocative,' then don't wear attire that is slutty or provocative? And before you go off on a tirade about how it's 'slut shaming,' really, grow up. It's an objective fact.

This is a very simple one to address. Stop giving a shit about what other people think about you. You have no right to force people to think that your appearance is sexually appealing. People have sexual ideals that they generally seek, and both the ones that males and females have for the opposite gender are completely unrealistic.

6% of men, and 7% of women, in Canada. That's not a very large margin here. Both need to recieve equal attention, not just one. Stop underepresenting male abuse.

Or we could try to prevent it, because rape (read: sexual violence) is a horribly scarring experience, and even with counselling and all the support in the world, it stays with you forever.
