I do not speak natural English, having been raised in America, but I can read it and understand it.

I read French with comprehension, but understand it spoken only a little.

If only those Montreal announcers would slow down a bit!

I also read Hebrew and koine Greek but can't understand it spoken, although the original Psalms sound amazingly musical when you hear someone read them aloud.

I am struggling with Japanese! But failing.

I took French in high school. It was completely worthless and I know have a grudge against Quebec for making me have to learn it. I could have learned something useful like Chinese (about a third of people in my city are Chinese, moreso at my age group). So instead of learning a functional language, I learned something that is essentially dead where I live. Thank you Frenchies.

In case that was incomprehensible... I meant to say "I can speak Spanish a little, but I can't speak it well. I don't know how uh... to make tildes either"

I am a native Anglophone. I was once semi-fluent in French, and can still read it, and I have a fair understanding of Spanish, which I continue to study.

I am taking Icelandic on my own, out of a book, and am looking at Irish Gaelic classes.
