Why did I convert to Islam? After being raised in an Anglican Family (though we were irreligious), I felt disconnected from the church and its teachings which led me to become an Atheist. After I had stopped trying to believe in Christianity, I felt like I was missing something, and I began to research into other religions. When I studied Islam, I felt connected to it and it's teachings, and as I learnt more I felt like it was right, which led me to taking the Shahadah.

Fair enough.

What about it's teachings did you identify with? What made you believe that there is a divine being?

It's hard to explain. As I read the Qur'an, and learnt more and more about the religion I had a feeling this is right for me, this is what I was meant to discover.
I never agreed with the triple aspect of the Christian God, and Islam's teaching that God is one, felt right to me.

At least you're open minded, which can't be a bad thing. Who knows, as you interact with more people, you may keep finding out about more religions that you feel even more right for you.

I have looked into many religions, from the east to the west. I did not feel connected to any of them, and now that I have submitted myself to the will of Allah, I cannot imagine leaving this lifestyle.

Ironically the Catholic Church promotes Satanism more then any other organisation.
Well in the sense that it is the opposite.

All my life I've been Atheist (kinda enforced in my family), but recently I'm starting to believe that there is a God, and that Atheism isn't really for me.

Not that I'd tell my parents, of course. They'd kick me outta the house.

Odd, you have the exact opposite upbringing and conversion from most other NS members. Personally on that note, despite being an atheist, If I have kids I'll let them decide what they believe rather than enforcing viewpoints on them.
