Well, if Belgium went for over a year without a Government, the US could pull it off too.

If were just going to always raise the debt ceiling when we clench our cheeks together for the budget why don't we just raise to to infinite or something because if we will never accept default then why bother.

So the idea of actually attempting to debate the merits of your proposed anarchist system didn't appeal to you? You'd rather just attempt to make pithy, inane quotes with no basis in reality?

We should now focus on shutting it down again, and again.

Meanwhile in the planet of the apes the great Chimpanzee council of science discovers the remains of the fabled "Statue of Liberty" in the forbidden zone. It serves as an ominous reminder to the apes from a once prosperous and highly advanced civilization from the past.

Ape slavery shall be humanities undoing.

I seriously doubt income tax amounts to more than half your income.

Exactly. The debt ceiling has never serviced any real purpose.

Considering the fact that the US dollar is the world reserve currency, were the US to collapse it would cause a global economic collapse.

I did not know that the world economy was specifically built for America to take itself out of the world economy.

No, but the economy could manage just fine without America- maybe not so much in the first few years, but it will eventually adjust to the complete lack of America. If everyone found some sudden, irresitible urge to drive a car with their private bits, car companies will eventually have to make them to statisfy that demand.

You said that the economy can stabilise...only it would do so terribly, and is like driving a car with your penis, by which I assume you mean driving a car not designed for penis driving. I said that the economy will necessarily adjust, just as, if people suddenly all demand to drive with their genitals, the car companies will adjust, and it does not necessarily have to be terribly.
