I am United Dependencies or UD as some refer to me. My real name is Grant and I am a proud North Carolina native where I have lived all my life. I am currently seventeen years old and in my final year of high school. There's not much for me to say, I like politics and debate but I prefer to watch the debates rather than actually post in them. One of my favorite parts of NSG is seeing posters like NA or TCT or many other older more mature posters give their opinions on issues as I always find them well thought out. I try my best to be a moderate on most issues as I believe every opinion has at least some value. I'm also trying to understand all the nuances and complexities surrounding issues and find ways to move beyond the black and white reasoning that persist around some issues. Sometimes I post on f7. I've met some great people here and I hope to continue to do so. There really is much else to say save Maurepas is my hero. Oh I'm also thinking about law school but I realize that is still a ways off(relatively).

Hi. I'm Nazi Flower Power.

This is my original nation, which is more or less what I would do if I actually could rule a nation in RL. It's supposed to be New England, not New Somersetshire; and I never did think of the perfect motto and flag, but I tried to make it somewhere I would actually want to live. Sometimes it looks better than others depending what issues I've had lately.

Anyway, I'm a left-of-center libertarian and a New England secessionist. I love New England because it's beautiful and it's my homeland, but I hate to live in the U.S. Over the years, I've been very disappointed with the Bible-thumping rhetoric that comes out of the South and the militaristic attitudes that are widespread in the U.S. I was opposed to the war in Iraq even before it started, and I predicted we wouldn't find any WMDs, so I'm still very angry with both the U.S. government and the American people for allowing the Iraq war to happen.

I work for an insurance company, which pays decent money, but it's just my job, not my true calling or my life's work. I believe in socialized medicine, so I sometimes feel like I'm working for the enemy; and it was never my dream to sit in a cubicle all day. I used to travel a lot, and even spent a year and a half teaching English in China. I still miss China sometimes, and still love to travel if I can find the time. Otherwise I just hang around Boston and clutter up NSG with my Nazi jokes.

I try to be thankful for the things that are going right in my life instead of dwelling on how boring it is, but I also get frustrated by a lot of things and like to vent here on NS.

I'll bite. I'm Hresejnen; this nation started out similar to Nazi Flower Power's there in that it was to be the nation I would most want to live in (my ideology is even similar to NFP's), but it eventually became something of a thought experiment as to what I think would actually happen if Germanic heathens got their own country in the middle of the South Atlantic - still with a bit of my own ideology. I am heathen IRL, and believe in a deceptively simple sociopolitical fact: the ideal society is one that strives for the greatest total amount of freedom distributed among individuals. Freedom can be quantified, and when one applies this ideal, they tend to end up with centrist economics and way too many naked people.

Most of my ideals do sound similarly radical, but that's merely how I present myself; the middle path is always the best one. I may come across as blunt or even angry sometimes, but rest assured that I'm an exceedingly tolerant and helpful individual when it's needed.

Oh, I'm also a psychology major with an intense interest in linguistics, philosophy, and basically anything that tends to confuse people that doesn't involve too many imaginary numbers. I'm semi-fluent in Swedish, and have a basic understanding of Japanese, as well as a couple conlangs under my belt. I'm very introverted IRL, but you'd never know it; I know people well enough to keep them happy and entertained, if I'm allowed to say so, and they'd never believe that I spend most of my time in my room writing and reading. I'm also a big nature nut, which is sad, because I currently live in an apartment in the city.
