Hello, A&F. It's another short story contest! (Yay! Short stories are awesome!)

Rules:

Writing deadline is February 28. (Your post containing your entry can not be edited after the deadline.)
6000 word maximum, no minimum
No fanfic, but public domain characters are fine
Mind the site rules
The story must be original (not published or previously posted on the internet)

Judging:

Judges: Vancon, Laerod, Forsher

If there are extra volunteers to judge, I'll put together a list of back-ups, and back-up judges will be TG'ed if their services are needed.

Most of the scoring categories are pretty self-explanatory, but the bonus points might be a little less obvious to someone who has not participated in previous contests. Judges may award up to 5 bonus points if they feel that a story was good, but just didn't fit the rubric well. When awarding bonus points, judges must explain their reasoning (e.g. "I had to take points off because there wasn't much description of the setting, but I don't think describing the setting would have improved the story at all.")

Judges are encouraged to explain their reasoning for all parts of their scoring, but it is only required for bonus points. It is up to the individual judges to decide how much or how little commentary they want to write.

Feel free to post questions if you are confused about anything.

These contests are a recurring thing, so if you miss the deadline for this one, you can still finish your story and save it for a later contest.

You'll get points off if it's not.

I will attempt to finish up the submission that I never got done for the last contest.

I didn't get my entry for the last contest done in time, but I should be able to get something done for this one, hopefully.

I could backup judge or submit.

I'll definetly try my had at this since I wanted to do one for the Fall 2014 contest but missed the deadline.

2/5. Endeavour is spelt incorrectly.

Obviously I won't force people to use international spellings or risk deductions when it's the real deal.

Goes without saying. So long as it's consistent. Also I'll take off one point per error at most.

It's a good excuse to practice and get feedback, even if you don't win.
