[Second Modern Rome]

The Communistic ANC (African National Congress) has ruled South Africa since 1994, committing genocide against whites and non-leftists since before they even took power. By 2018, resources in the region are running low, so the ANC decides to invade neighboring Angola and Namibia, annexing both nations. Anyone who resisted ANC occupation was brutally murdered, raped or tortured.

By the year 2020, white South Africans and the people of Angola and Namibia who were against ANC rule/occupation, formed the Resistance Movement (Weerstandsbeweging, translated to Afrikaans, a language spoken by many white South Africans). South Africa would be plunged into a new era of civil war on a new scale. As RPers, you will NOT be playing as your own nation's military, but you will play as a combat division of either the ANC or the Weerstandsbeweging (Resistance Movement) and will choose strategic points in which to place your troops and a strategic point of attacking other the other side's soldiers.

General Wilhelm Van Tonder, commander of Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) forces in the area, sees a line of Ratel-90 IFVs and Olifant MK2 Main Battle Tanks that were captured by AWB forces from a nearby Government military installation. He plans to send 500 infantry regulars along with 15 Ratel-90s and 5 Olifants into disputed territory. MILAN II Anti-tank equipment, FGM-148 Javelins and RPG-7s, all of which were captured from the nearby military base, will go along with the infantry force to stop anything that would get in their way. They may not have much of this equipment, but it will sure be useful to them out in the field.

Northwest Province, Disputed Territory, South Africa

Colonel Pieter Schweickerdt, commander of the AWB armor column, which was still in need of more armored vehicles and equipment besides small arms, leads his men into the Northwest Province. This province is disputed territory between the ANC and the AWB and a very dangerous combat zone for both the ANC and the AWB. They set up camp on the top of a hill that overlooks a large area. This hill is called Hill 142. The Olifant MK2 tanks are put on top of another hill to rain fire down on any government forces that come near the hill. The Ratel-90s are also placed all around the hill, doing the same job as the Olifants, which is to rain fire on any enemies within range.

at dawn on the morning of June 23rd,2020 a small column of resistance fighters clad in Bush stroke camo and brandishing a combination of AK 47s and R1s spotted a large patrol deep inside the bush their goal was rather simple hit and run with as little losses as possible.

as the enemy patrol got even closer to the resistance fighters a barrage of heavy small arms fire broke out as the Rhodies skillfully ambushed their opponents with no mercy.

General Van Tonder decides to station the remaining Ratel-90s and Olifant MK2s along the borders of the rebel-held provinces. The provinces held are Limpopo Province, Orange Free State, and Gauteng Province, with land gains in the Northwest Province and the Natal Province. Among Van Tonder's main objectives is border security. Not only does he want to defeat the ANC government and liberate South Africa, but he wants to keep resistance-held territories safe and secure. He decides to send 1,950 troops to defend the borders, with an emphasis on the southern border of the Orange Free State.

Colonel Schweickerdt's men move from the hill and begin moving through the province, facing light resistance. They have moved through almost all of the Northwest Province at this point and claim it for the resistance. The Ratel-90s and Olifant MK2s easily overpower ANC infantry forces, but a Ratel-90 was lost to enemy anti-tank equipment (MILAN II).

Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB) forces carrying R4 Rifles come to assist the wood warriors. There are approximately 100 AWB troopers coming to assist the Wood Warriors. The AWB troopers are also carrying a MILAN II anti-tank rocket launcher and an FGM-148 Javelin with them to shoot down aerial units.

The 7th Divison were dug into their defences, orders were the only thing keeping them there. It certainly wasn't the accommodation, and definitely not the weather. While the heat was something everyone who claims to be an African is used to, this was verging on the point of ridiculous. Maybe it was because they were still running drills and exercises in the heat. The Major didn't partake though, he simply watched the 11,000 men in his division do it in his place. All the while the 30 men in the artillery section polished their Howitzers, 2 men for each one. The odd man was excused from training to move sand bags or take up a sniper to a watch tower.

Beside the Major was various men of note, mostly sergeants. Most objected to Johnathan leadership, mostly because he claimed both English and French heritage and that he was the first generation of his family to be born in South Africa. However, that did not matter, for he had clearly proved himself enough to reach Major. The Anglo-Franco waited in silence, as was most days. Nothing truly exciting happened, and he wasn't going to risk all his men to retake Angola alone. That was the primary objective though, hold Angola for the ANC. Reinforcements were in dire need though, with enough men the resistance could crush them...

She turned to Colonel Bhekumbuso Ndlovu, a tough looking man with a face covered in scars, her second in command.

"They are late" she said, glancing at her watch.

"I know", he replied "these hills can be dangerous, especially with both sides not quite knowing whether we are friends or enemies".

"Hopefully we will find out soon enough from one or both who they consider we are" stated Zulu.

The RED Army had been assembled in secret amongst black, white, Indian and coloured South Africans, especially those in the Durban area, sick and tired of the violence of the ANC, but opposed to the ideologies of most of the rebels. They had moved into Durban overnight and had rapidly seized the harbour, Town Hall and main roads. Fighting had been minimal as the ANC forces had been focused on areas where Resistance forces were present, and had not expected a third force to rise up in this unexpected area.

The RED Army had then sent out forces to the Pinetown area to bring back a convoy of food and water RED had been assembling in secret from supporters in the countryside and amongst what remained of the suburbs. The trucks had been designed so that ANC or Resistance logos could be displayed with quick notice, and black and white drivers stood ready to step in to make the convoy look less suspicious regardless of whom the met. Now the leaders of RED waited to see if these supplies would arrive unhindered.

The reason why we rebelled is because the ANC was killing us Afrikaners and that black civilians were raping and killing us. The majority of them have proven that they cannot live with us without trying to kill us. Not all blacks are bad, since my second in command is an African, but when you put us Afrikaners together with a majorly black population, we end up killing each other. All I want is for both races to live without the fear of being killed by the opposite race."

"We would allow South Africans of all races to form such small independent states, provided the area they claim is reasonable in size and location and provided that these states do not commit extreme violence against the LGBT+ community and other oppressed groups, and allow them to leave should they choose".

Some assembled seem skeptical, but most seem to grudgingly accept.

Resistance Occupied Southwestern Namibia

Colonel Janus van Zandt, commander of the Noord-Kaap Veldwagters, was holding an informal gathering of his officers. The division was comparatively small, numbering only 2,100 farm boys from both sides of the Oranje, and van Zandt saw it as absolutely essential for his men to understand him and understand each other. They were a cavalry regiment, something that was rare in these times, and each of them was acutely aware of that. The era of charges on horseback and of Boer commandos were coming to an end, and they all hoped it would be with a triumph rather than a whimper. The plan that van Zandt laid out to his officers was simple, they would strike southward across the Oranje and push down from there into the Cape. The Veldwagters were well equipped, each man had his horse and most were equipped with carbines or battle rifles which could be fired from horseback. But combat while on horseback was something all these farm boys feared, each knew that they would have to dismount when the time came. Colonel van Zandt closed the meeting and mounted his horse. His underlings did the same and they took off, sending clouds of dust into the blue African sky.

"Where exactly would the borders of these two nations be?" asks Colonel Bhekumbuso Ndlovu.

"Depending on the extent of the borders we might accept some mostly one race Republics however" says Major Vukine Moloi.

"We would have to discuss that in depth" states Andrew Chirwa.

The 2nd Division has helped develop posters to rally support for the ANC and the Communist government. The division has also been ordered to go forward to the border with the Resistance and remain vigilant in case of an attack.

Vredenburg, South Africa

Armed with AK-104s and M9s, 30 soldiers moved through the small forest to the east of Vredenburg. The small town had a population of just 43,000 yet it was an important area for the Revolusionêre Blankes Wes-Kaap, known locally as the WKWR. It and Saldanha had the second largest population of whites (compared to the overall population), the largest being cape town. If the resistance could gain mass support here, they would be able to possibly take over the towns. The soldiers split up at a small clearing, 10 going to the west, 10 to the east and 10 staying at the clearing.

"Where exactly would the borders of these two nations be?" asks Colonel Bhekumbuso Ndlovu.

"And would people of all races be allowed to live in, be treated equally in and run for political office in the Union of South Africa, as they would in the Republic of South Africa we envision?" asks General Nomzamo Zulu.

"Depending on the extent of the borders we might accept some mostly one race Republics however" says Major Vukine Moloi.

"We would have to discuss that in depth" states Andrew Chirwa.

"In The Union of South Africa, yes, blacks will be treated equally and they will be able to run for office. Also, they would be allowed to vote. The borders shall be determined after the ANC has been ousted from power. It depends on the advances made by our troops. Other than that, we must stand together against a common enemy. Both black and white, liberal or conservative, we need to defeat the ANC," Van Tonder said, in the form of a dramatic speech that a president would give. "Also, I'm sure you guys remember President De Klerk? Heeeeee's back! He's our acting president. We are going to have a real election after the war."

The 2nd Division has helped develop posters to rally support for the ANC and the Communist government. The division has also been ordered to go forward to the border with the Resistance and remain vigilant in case of an attack.
