My report on New Skaaneland for possible trolling. Note that all of this is in the ISIS thread. I only quoted short posts, to reduce the length of the report. All other evidence is linked directly.

Here, he refers to the 179 people killed or injured by Breivik in the 2011 Norway Attacks as "a very small number" (It was actually 318 according to Wikipedia, but the point stands).

I can only support ISIS for one reason.

They make excellent test subjects for new munitions.

To be quite honest with you all I am mostly just reacting against political correctness and its' limitations to possible opinions. However, I want to live, not just to exist.

This is the most recent post in the thread at the time I wrote this. The last two sentences appear to be an admission to trolling, in my opinion.

By the way, I'm at a play posting this during intermission, so I can't respond until 10:30ish EST.

I think there's a difference between ideologically supporting the kind of society which "Do it yourself" leads to and between practising it only for one specific cause. There could also be those who support disorganised violence to a certein extent, although I don't quite have those limitations myself. With Breivik I've had the impression that he only supports the methods he used himself for causes involving the white race, Norway as a nation or protestant Christianity, but if you have a source which says otherwise please give me a link.

Then of course, not everyone has to have the whole picture. What Breivik did could be one of many events which makes the world a better place to live in for people in general (of course not for the victims and their closest, so there's no need for you to point that out).

It should be added though that your parable is about the same as the one I made myself, only that you assume it's a bad thing to make that parable. While I don't think anybody's choice to murder is quite OK I still think it's morally above the acts perpetrated by the politicians. After all what Breivik did was self defence.

Bump? Been almost a day since I posted this.

Since for some reason I haven't gotten a response to this yet (I posted on Thursday night EST), and I don't want to write another bump post, I'll instead try to make another point about Skaaneland: his presence on the ISIS thread is not conducive to debate, and could be considered essentially long-term threadjacking. Before, it was primarily centered around West Aurelia and other users providing news updates, then debate on the updates until the next one came in, along with the occasional users coming in to offer their own opinions on the crisis, and then debating them. However, since Skaaneland appeared, the thread has instead focused on addressing his random comments, and his posting style- if it can be called that- makes it almost impossible to carry on a discussion. For example:

I kind of like liberty myself. It's a sad fact that you don't feel the same.

How is this a conversation? He doesn't even address their comments! I asked him to explain this, and he said (without quoting my post):

It's a good thing that you said "please" this time Klishi, but I am still not writing on your behalf.

I asked him politely, again, to respond to my post, and his next post was:

To turn things around, would you demand UN intervention for this?

Again, not addressing any posts directed towards him and instead changing the subject completely! This is not productive conversation!

To be fair, he did respond to my post eventually:

I asked what your thoughts were on the issue of liberty. You were to answer that question but instead you're making a silly game out of it.

...this, a rare occasion where he actually responded to a post. He never responded to mine, nor to most of the other people on the forum who just want to get back to debating about ISIS, not maneuvering around Skaaneland's random comments. In conclusion,

is not a conversation. Skaaneland has, in my opinion, conducted a ten-plus-page-long stealthy thread-jack of what was once a productive, interesting, and vitally important discussion.

I did file a few reports on Klishi islands for things he did which needed moderation and some of it was dealt with. However that wasn't about what his opinions were, but rather how he behaved. Though I'm not sure what these people are trying to achieve by listing people's opinions or how that would relate to moderation.

Correct, and my behavior- using the mods as a weapon- was out of line and I was suitably warned for it. Here, I'm saying that your opinions could be constituted as trolling and posted examples that I felt supported that argument.

However I don't think there are opinions which should be considered trolling only because you disagree with them. These are actual opinions and I don't think it's in the role of Administration to decide opinions for the posters. Not least I wonder what the real reasons are behind Cabana's reports, if not the simple fact that he strongly disagrees.

I'm pretty sure we already dealt with this kerfuffle in the other thread, and addressed what needed to be addressed, and left what didn't.

A claim of naivete is not trolling, nor are other mild statements of similar nature. If you can't get along, put one another on ignore and don't respond. That tends to be pretty simple. Or of you can handle reading one another's posts, choose not to respond if you can't do so in a meaningful fashion, or without getting upset about it.

So, stop the arguing here, and go back to discussing on the forums - or not. Your choice. But in either case, you may want to leave one another alone for a bit, just to be on the safe side. Thanks.
