In three days, a dreadful event will occur that everyone in the state of Minnesota will remember forever.
It will be called The Night of Mourning.
On this night, multiple people will die at the exact same moment. Some of these death's causes are unknown. You were one of these people. You were one of the victims that died at 9:44 PM on September 21st, 2015. The moment you died, you thought that was it.
But it wasn't.
It was only the beginning.
Only three minutes into your afterlife, you are somehow breathing again. At 9:47 PM, your experience in the afterlife was over. But something was different. You aren't who you used to be. You are what your town calls A Lovely. A person who has died and come back to life. But those who go through this mysterious change aren't who they were 3 minutes before. They have new genetics. What kids would call "superpowers". You remember your death. The rain. Your last thought. But you are alive.
And you are different.

So this is different, yeah? Basically, we will start three days before The Night of Mourning. Everyone can die how they want, really. Get creative! I guess... But yeah, you come back with new awesome powers! Woo! Fun! Alright, most of the stuff is down there. So have fun, and get creative with it!

Personality: Alex is a mostly quiet girl. She tends to keep to herself, and always seems to down herself when she's happy. In every day situations, she takes into account how little time she has left, and tends to be a pessimist when it comes to mind. She tries to be friendly, but sometimes comes out as a snob if she turns down something. She is rarely happy, no matter what anyone says to her.
Current Life Situation: She has leukemia, but still attends college.
Bio: Alex was born into a middle-class family, and lived in a fairly large home. In her senior year of high school, Alex was diagnosed with stage 5 blood cancer, which is also called leukemia. Even with the sudden situation, her parents urged her with heavy hearts to continue on with a normal life. Though, she spends her nights at the hospital so that they can monitor her conditions.

Bio:Fredrick was born on August 17th, 1989 to Ian Hoffman and Erika Hoffman. He grew up with a hope for his life. He was taught German and English growing up. He slowly became a class favorite during High School because he did all his work and still had time to talk to his friends. At the age of 22 he left home for University and is on his third year to becoming a History Professor.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Michael was the son of a New York City Fireman and a Paramedic. Due to his parents' work, they weren't around often, which made it difficult to do basic things such as hang out with friends and do after school activities. When his dad died in a fire when Michael was 9, his mother fell into a depression and committed suicide two years later, leaving Michael, his two brothers, and his sister as orphans. Until he was 17, Michael lived in a Foster Home, raised by strangers, until his Foster Parents, John and Susan, signed a letter of confirmation allowing Michael to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Afghanistan until returning home two weeks ago.

Superpower): Disintegration (anything he comes in physical contact with will slowly start disintegrating. More synthetic materials, such as rubber, can last for several hours depending on thickness and density. Organic materials, such as skin and bone, will disintegrate much quicker.)

Likes: His two cats, Tide and Geronimo. His weekly bowling partners, Guillermo, Arnold, and Steven. Birdwatching and ecological activism.

Dislikes: Big corporations, sharks, large bodies of water, vegetables, rude behavior

Personality: Jude is incredibly pretentious. He makes sure only to enjoy "highbrow" entertainment and relentlessly seeks to put down those who disagree with his tastes. When he relaxes, he can be a pretty chill guy, but if he's in the right kind of mood he can be incredibly irritating. Not surprisingly, Jude doesn't have too many friends. Luckily, he's always been a bit of a loner, and enjoys his own company.

Current Life Situation (School, if you have a sickness, etc.): He lives in a small flat in the city, and goes out on weekends with a small group of friends he met through his local awareness campaigns on behalf of endangered birds.

Bio (History of character, if any.): Jude finished an undergraduate degree in Finance at the University of Michigan and moved to Minnesota to work as an analyst at a small finance firm, Schmucks Incorporated. Although he's a good worker, he doesn't truly enjoy finance, and wishes he had tried to do something creative, like painting or writing.

Character Name: Michael Morningstar

Superpower:

• Energy Absorption: Michael can absorb any and all energy into himself, and then convert said energy into whatever it is he desires. He can fire blasts, make shields, just about anything he can realistically think of. He is limited by the Law of Conservation of Energy - he cannot create nor destroy energy, but merely collect it. This ability is active and passive, giving Michael a personal shield (due to the consuming nature of his power), if you will, and an area of effect (the farthest distance he can absorb) of around 3-4 feet.
• Supernatural Intelligence: Even before the event, Michael was extremely gifted when it came to smarts, with an easy understanding of multiple subjects. The Night of Mourning would transform him into a towering intellect that he himself has trouble comprehending - his mind works so fast and so quickly, it's like he can see and understand all possible outcomes in a situation and go with whichever he needs to (this can be tricky, as it does not work past a few seconds at most as the variables become too great).

Likes: Chess, Planning, Math, Rapping, and Reading/Writing.

Dislikes: Annoyances, Ignorance, Failure, Being Interrupted, and Knees.

Personality: In a sense, he is two-faced, but never in front of you. To make it simpler: He is a nice man, friendly, smiles on the outside but within his own mind Michael is judging you, picking apart your being, your weaknesses, how to exploit them, and the like. This is not out of fear, but out of disgust - Michael believes himself to be far above anyone else but understands that he must play a role within his social circles and that surface-arrogance is prohibitive to whatever his goals may be, so he keeps it to himself. A master manipulator, Michael is not above mistruths and downright-lies to achieve results.

Current Life Situation: Lives on his own, but in a wealthy, upscale mansion in a secluded, fenced area. It is implied that he is incredibly wealthy, but never quite discloses how he has attained such wealth. Some believe it is inheritance from deceased parents, a young entrepreneur, and even a bank robber, but the truth is much more simple than he'd care to admit. He holds several degrees, his prominent being in applied mathematics (which he uses for game theory, statistics, mathematical physics, and mathematical finance), and passes his time by being a part-time financial advisor, as well as substitute teacher on occasion.

Bio:

Born into wealth, Michael grew up learning hardship at his parents' insistence. To them, success must be built by one's own two hands and mind. His father was a successful media mogul involved with some illegal trades, while his mother was a healthcare professional. In short, money was never out of supply in the Morningstar household. As fate decided, though, Michael would be an only child as Ms. Morningstar was stricken with ovarian cancer shortly after his birth. A simple hysterectomy was the answer, and things went well from there. From both of his parents, we can see that Michael received his arrogance and near-psychopathic mind from his father and his surface personality from his kind, caring mother. His mom taught him how to act in front of others, while his dad taught him how to act in his own interests.

Michael did exceptionally well throughout his private school career, graduating early and even giving life to some businesses while still in school. These startups would prove to be a large source of wealth later on as he sold them off to Fortune 500 Companies, but tragedy struck when Michael was 17. His parents were killed in a car crash late one night, and just like that, his life was forever altered. He inherited both of their estates entirely and distanced himself from his extended family, retreating into a mansion he had built far away from his hometown. He'd go between mourning and simply existing, refusing to believe he was in depression. He buried himself in mathematics and sciences and hid from the world for as long as he could.

Approaching his 20th birthday, however, something changed seemingly one day. Simple as that, strangely, he woke up one day, and just left his house. It was the first time he left his mansion in three years - he'd hire people to bring him anything he needed while he cooped himself up. He had degrees gained from online colleges, and just went to work as a substitute teacher whenever he could. He cultivated a reputation for financial wit as well, becoming a self-employed financial planner/investment advisor on the side. His motivation for doing these things? Boredom, and a desire to move his way up in the world, as money is one thing, but real power was outside of his grasp. It was a new chess game to him, in realistic terms.

Personality: Arias is pretty quiet for the most part usually only speaking when spoken to. He tends to be apathetic towards most things not caring and just accepting what the world throws at him good or bad.

Current Life Situation: Arias currently attends High-school, lives with his older brother and is affiliated with his gang

Bio:
Arias had moved to Minnesota to live with his older brother due to family issues. He didn’t want to move up here but he really didn’t have a choice. Everything was different to him, the weather, the people, and definitely the City. When Arias First saw the city he was amazed, it was like a painting he couldn’t believe the sheer size of some of the buildings, sure he’d seen cities on T.V. but to be there in person and to actually see the skyscrapers in person was something completely new to him. Arias would get familiar with the city soon enough just not how he’d imagined. His older brother had apparently been in some king of gang and seeing Arias as new and fresh face to the city someone the cops didn't know he would use his younger brother as a member of his gang performing small jobs such as stealing and sending messages between members. Arias hated it he hated the gang and what they did, but he couldn’t really do anything about it besides it did give him the chance to see the city right?
