Please do not post in this thread. To propose a resolution, post it in the main thread.

If you want to find a resolution, search by name or number.
Numbers should have "AA#" added to them, so that resolution 1 is "AA#1" for example.
You can also search by keyword; please prefix a keyword with "!".
For example, health-related proposals will be tagged !health.

AA#1: International Space Program

Postby Allied Assembly » Wed Nov 26, 2014 4:17 pm

INTERNATIONAL SPACE PROGRAM
Since the birth of man, we have strived to reach the stars. We must now work together and reach to the stars, within a single, public program. For the good of mankind.

The Allied Assembly agrees:
  • To the creation of the International Space Program.
  • That rockets will be launched on a semi-regular basis.
  • That all gathered data that is not of importance of national or international security will be released to the governments of the Alliance.
  • That the requisite personnel will be provided to the ISP by member nations.

AA#2: Quorum Solution

Postby Allied Assembly » Wed Nov 26, 2014 4:19 pm

QUORUM SOLUTION
NOTING that some perfectly sensible proposals fail in the Assembly due to not meeting quorum,
AWARE that, were we to remove the quorum altogether, a proposal could easily win by one vote for and no votes against,
FEELING that this possibility is unfair, and that as such we should not remove the quorum completely,
HOPING, however, that a solution can be found to the quorum problem,
UNDERSTANDING that the current quorum is half the delegates of the Assembly,

The Allied Assembly agrees:
  1. The quorum shall immediately be lowered to one-quarter of the delegates.
  2. The Chancellor shall have the ability to raise or lower the quorum to solve this problem in the future.
  3. The Chancellor shall not have the ability to exercise the powers of clause 2 to manipulate voting results.

AA#3: International Health Organization

Postby Allied Assembly » Wed Nov 26, 2014 4:21 pm

INTERNATIONAL HEALTH ORGANISATION
Since the Birth of Mankind, we have been faced with innumerable plagues and diseases. As such we should propose that a single international body be created to combat the threat that these viruses pose. For the good of Mankind.

The Allied Assembly agrees:
To the creation of the International Health Organisation.
That nations will cooperate under the IHO to combat pathogens which pose a threat to human civilization.
That all gathered data regarding such pathogens, that is not of importance of national or international security, will be released to the Public
That the requisite personnel will be provided to the IHO by member nations

AA#4: Protecting Labor Rights

Postby Allied Assembly » Fri Dec 12, 2014 4:32 pm

PROTECTING LABOR RIGHTS
NOTING that not all nations adequately protect workers' rights,
NOT ACCUSING any particular member nations of failing to protect these rights,
HOWEVER WISHING to ensure these rights are protected nonetheless,

The Allied Assembly agrees:

Article 0: Notes and Definitions
  1. The provisions of article 1 will only apply to capitalist nations. If a nation contests whether they are capitalist, the issue is to be decided by standard Assembly voting procedure.

  3. The provisions of article 1 will not apply to governments that are employing forced laborers as a form of punishment for crime so long as forced laborers are only forced to labor to the degree given in the sentence.

Article 1: Minimum Wage
  1. The Allied Assembly minimum wage is defined as nine NationStates dollars (NS$ 9) for each hour of labor.
  2. Member nations are required to have a national minimum wage of at least the Allied Assembly minimum wage.
  3. Businesses are required to pay at least this wage domestically.
  4. Businesses whose headquarters are in a member nation are required to pay at least this wage to foreign laborers in overseas factories and other installations.

Article 2: Working Conditions
  1. Businesses are required to ensure that labor areas are sanitary and not physically or mentally dangerous.
  2. Businesses are prohibited from forcing laborers to work for more than eight (8) hours in one day.
  3. Businesses and their employees are prohibited from discriminating against workers because of race, sex, class, or any other factor.
  4. Businesses and their employees are prohibited from discriminating against workers because of age, except according to the provisions of article 3.

Article 3: Child Labor
  1. Businesses are prohibited from employing workers under the age of fourteen.
  2. Businesses may employ workers under the age of sixteen but over the age of fourteen so long as they only work for up to four (4) hours in one day.
