Well 4 teams already automatically make it to the CHL, so are you thinking about making a rival CHL (bad idea methinks) or a second-tier tournament (could be interesting)?

Or something completely different and having a league like the Southern Rushmori League and such?

1. Rivaling the CHL is the furthest thing from my mind
2. I'm definitely open to a second-tier tournament, seems like a lot of leagues have second tiers.
3. I was thinking something completely different, though, just a relatively small informal invitational cup with little bearing on international bragging rights.

Handell Cup 4 Playoffs

Aroharu Conference

Quarterfinals

1 Locksgren Tappers vs 8 Oprium Executioners
Locksgren Tappers 2–3 Oprium Executioners
Locksgren Tappers 0–1 Oprium Executioners
Oprium Executioners 1–2 Locksgren Tappers
Oprium Executioners 1–1 Locksgren Tappers (1–2 OT)
Locksgren Tappers 2–2 Oprium Executioners (3–2 OT)
Oprium Executioners 1–4 Locksgren Tappers, 1 Locksgren Tappers win series 4-2

Oprium had the Tappers on their heels after the first two games in Locksgren, but then the offensive juggernaut of the Tappers took over. Winning two OT games in Games 4 and 5 led to the thrashing that the Tappers put on Game 6, as they look to make it to the Handell Cup Finals. LW Marcus Darrymore was the star of the series, scoring 7 goals in the 6 matches, and accomplishing 3 assists. Oprium fans, however, have much cause for optimism for the way their team handled the top seeded team in the Aroharu Conference after squeaking into the playoffs.

2 Iriwati Panthers vs 7 Kirlin City Flyers
Iriwati Panthers 0–2 Kirlin City Flyers
Iriwati Panthers 1–3 Kirlin City Flyers
Kirlin City Flyers 0–1 Iriwati Panthers
Kirlin City Flyers 0–4 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 0–0 Kirlin City Flyers (2–1 SO)
Kirlin City Flyers 2–2 Iriwati Panthers (3–2 OT)
Iriwati Panthers 1–1 Kirlin City Flyers (2–1 OT), 2 Iriwati Panthers win series 4-3

Nobody expected this series to be so closely contested. On one side was Kirlin City, who had actually given up more goals than scored in the regular season. The other side were the Panthers, with the second best offense in the conference. The Flyers, though, gave the Panthers a run for their money. Two shocking wins in Iriwati sent the Panthers into a panic, but three wins in a row helped their cause. Kirlin City, however, was able to force a Game 7 with RW Kwani Usandor's goal in overtime of Game 6. Game 7 was another tight affair, and only when C Thomas Henry's goal went past G Yamore Milano could the Panthers heave a huge sigh of relief.

3 Esul Sonics vs 6 Kanino Wings
Esul Sonics 0–2 Kanino Wings
Esul Sonics 2–1 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 3–1 Esul Sonics
Kanino Wings 3–1 Esul Sonics
Esul Sonics 5–1 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 0–0 Esul Sonics (2–1 SO), 6 Kanino Wings win series 4-2

Kanino overcame a 5-1 loss in Game 5 to take this series, 4-2, behind the leadership of the Mikelov twins, Ivanov and Mikhail. Ivanov scored five goals in the series, and Mikhail had four assists. Esul C Jack Cartier was able to score a hat trick in Game 5, but the Sonics were not able to generate any momentum off of that win as they fell flat.

4 Lyron Lancers vs 5 Janesville Kings
Lyron Lancers 1–2 Janesville Kings
Lyron Lancers 0–1 Janesville Kings
Janesville Kings 1–2 Lyron Lancers
Janesville Kings 1–1 Lyron Lancers (2–1 SO)
Lyron Lancers 0–0 Janesville Kings (0–1 SO), 5 Janesville Kings win series 4-1

Janesville rolled over Lyron easily, with their only hiccup being Game 3. Goaltender Carry Beckett was able to generate two wins by shoot-out, while Noa Esposito of Cotdelapoms led the offensive charge with three goals.
Semifinals

1 Locksgren Tappers vs 6 Kanino Wings
Locksgren Tappers 2–1 Kanino Wings
Locksgren Tappers 0–1 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 2–1 Locksgren Tappers
Kanino Wings 3–2 Locksgren Tappers
Locksgren Tappers 2–4 Kanino Wings, 6 Kanino Wings win series 4-1

The Mikelov twins continued their brilliance in a series that didn't go anything like the fans expected. Marcus Darrymore was held up, and the Wings took four games in a row, including a clinching away win at Locksgren, to make it to the Champions' League and the Aroharu Conference Finals.

2 Iriwati Panthers vs 5 Janesville Kings
Iriwati Panthers 2–1 Janesville Kings
Iriwati Panthers 0–2 Janesville Kings
Janesville Kings 0–1 Iriwati Panthers
Janesville Kings 2–0 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 1–0 Janesville Kings
Janesville Kings 2–1 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 3–1 Janesville Kings, 2 Iriwati Panthers win series 4-3

This series was a slugfest, with the teams trading one game at a time. Iriwati did come out victorious in the end, although Esposito led the Kings with six goals in the series. The emergence of Cotdelapomois players can be attributed to their recent WCoH win. Thomas Henry again played the hero in Game 7 with two goals and an assist.
Conference Finals

2 Iriwati Panthers vs 6 Kanino Wings
Iriwati Panthers 2–2 Kanino Wings (3–2 OT)
Iriwati Panthers 3–0 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 0–1 Iriwati Panthers
Kanino Wings 2–1 Iriwati Panthers
Iriwati Panthers 0–2 Kanino Wings
Kanino Wings 0–4 Iriwati Panthers, 2 Iriwati Panthers win series 4-2

Kanino's luck ran out as the Panthers took the series by storm. The Wings were able to hold out in Games 4 and 5, but the Panthers dominated Game 6 away at Kanino to take the Aroharu crown and get a stab at the Handell Cup.
Baseheft Conference

Quarterfinals

1 Newshanville Pilots vs 8 Iona Junction Spiders
Newshanville Pilots 4–0 Iona Junction Spiders
Newshanville Pilots 4–0 Iona Junction Spiders
Iona Junction Spiders 2–1 Newshanville Pilots
Iona Junction Spiders 0–2 Newshanville Pilots
Newshanville Pilots 4–0 Iona Junction Spiders, 1 Newshanville Pilots win series 4-1

Newshanville scored an astounding fifteen goals in this series, a testament to their amazing offense led by RW George Riley. Riley scored seven of those fifteen goals, and the second leading scorer on the team was RD Nevin Little, with five. The Spiders' season, going from recently promoted to the playoffs, shouldn't be written off. They are here to stay for some time.

2 Jackson Flames vs 7 Rehaven Tide
Jackson Flames 0–0 Rehaven Tide (0–1 SO)
Jackson Flames 1–1 Rehaven Tide (1–2 SO)
Rehaven Tide 0–4 Jackson Flames
Rehaven Tide 1–3 Jackson Flames
Jackson Flames 1–0 Rehaven Tide
Rehaven Tide 1-2 Jackson Flames, 2 Jackson Flames win series 4-2

The defending Handell Cup champions had their hands full in the first two games, but then swept the rest of them. Rehaven G William Ewers had the Flames scratching their heads after two shoot-out wins. Then, Jackson exploded for four goals in Game 3, and never looked back. Charles-Antoine Charbonneau of Cotdelapoms scored all four of the goals in Game 3, generating one of the most masterful performances in FPHL history.

3 North Irswabi Comets vs 6 Larmedo Legion
North Irswabi Comets 3–1 Larmedo Legion
North Irswabi Comets 1–0 Larmedo Legion
Larmedo Legion 2–1 North Irswabi Comets
Larmedo Legion 3–2 North Irswabi Comets
North Irswabi Comets 0–1 Larmedo Legion
Larmedo Legion 0–3 North Irswabi Comets
North Irswabi Comets 2–0 Larmedo Legion, 3 North Irswabi Comets win series 4-3

The Legion had placed a modest 11th last season, but made it to the playoffs this year. Going against Emrik Frank of Cotdelapoms and the Comets, many imagined this to be a sweep. And for two games, it seemed so. Frank scored two goals in the first game and the winner in the second. Then, the Legion struck back. LW Ronald Dean scored game-winners in Games 3, 4, and 5, and was being hailed as the comeback hero before Game 6. This was when the fairy tale ended, as the Comets shut out the Legion in the last two games, and made it to the Conference Semifinals.

4 Locido Force vs 5 Vincevol Stars
Locido Force 1–2 Vincevol Stars
Locido Force 2–0 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 2–0 Locido Force
Vincevol Stars 3-1 Locido Force
Locido Force 2-1 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 3-2 Locido Force, 5 Vincevol Stars win series 4-2

Not much to be said here. Vincevol and Locido had been separated by only two points in the final standings, so this series was going to decide who was really the best. The Stars were.
Semifinals

1 Newshanville Pilots vs 5 Vincevol Stars
Newshanville Pilots 2–1 Vincevol Stars
Newshanville Pilots 3–1 Vincevol Stars
Vincevol Stars 2–1 Newshanville Pilots
Vincevol Stars 1–1 Newshanville Pilots (1–0 SO)
Newshanville Pilots 1–1 Vincevol Stars (1–2 OT)
Vincevol Stars 2–0 Newshanville Pilots, 5 Vincevol Stars win series 4-2

The first two games went as expected. George Riley and Nevin Little scored all of the Pilots' goals. Then, the fates shifted and Vincevol took off. RW Isaquah Hanaros scored the OT goal in Game 6 that really shifted the momentum, then G Bernard Vaghold turned in a masterful performance in Game 6 to send the Stars to the Champions' League.

2 Jackson Flames vs 3 North Irswabi Comets
Jackson Flames 4–0 North Irswabi Comets
Jackson Flames 0–1 North Irswabi Comets
North Irswabi Comets 2–1 Jackson Flames
North Irswabi Comets 1–4 Jackson Flames

North Irswabi Comets 3–3 Jackson Flames (3–0 SO)
Jackson Flames 2–3 North Irswabi Comets, 3 North Irswabi Comets win series 4-3

Emrik Frank of North Irswabi against Charles-Antoine Charbonneau of Jackson; two Cotdelapomois players going against each other. What a series it was... Jackson seemed ready to take it all with wins in Games 4 and 5, then North Irswabi G Warren Harding saved all three shots in the Shoot-out in Game 6, and Frank scored the winning goal in Game 7 in the third period to end the series.
Conference Finals

3 North Irswabi Comets vs 5 Vincevol Stars
North Irswabi Comets 2–1 Vincevol Stars

In a stunning series of events, the unheralded Stars of Vincevol took care of Emrik Frank and the Comets to make it to the Finals. Hanaros was solid once more, scoring a total of six goals in the series, including a brace in the final game.

Regular Season Review
For the first time in the history of the Southern Rushmore Super League, the Scott City Oilers failed to rack up the most points over the course of the regular season, as the Brady City Darmenians beat them by three points. The Oilers however led the League in goals, 259, and least amount of goals allowed, 70. The Big Three all won their divisions, not something that League Officials were looking forward to, while Hockey Mehnsihn were crowned Rushmore Division Champions, doing so for the second time in a row. HC Peniclado suprised everyone by finishing second in the Rushmore Division.

Playoffs Review
In the Round of Sixteen the Oilers, Darmenians, and Hockey Mehnsihn all swept their series' as expected. The Tim City Canucks however had to win a four game series against the Ebo Icicles. Abo HC upset the Senators in a four game series, while Bordertown CRM handled the Armni Islanders in five. The Quarterfinals saw the Oilers, Darmenians, Canucks, and Hockey Mehnsihn sweep their opponents all in three games. Despite that, competition could be found in just about every series, as most games ended with a close margin between the two teams, or ending in Overtime or with a Shoot Out. Bordertown CRM defeated Abo HC in the CHL Playoff series, winning both games by a single goal. HC Peniclado defeated their cross town rivals, Peniclado Unified in the two game series. We can assure you that during the series, Peniclado was not unified.

In the Semifinals, Scott City defeated Hockey Mehnsihn in three games, and did so without allowing Hockey Mehnsihn a single goal, while the oilers scored seven of their own. In the other series, the Canucks of Tim City defeated the Darmenians of Brady City in three games. The second and third games both ended with the teams competing in a shoot out. The Canucks won both shoot outs by the score of 1-0. The Finals were quite exciting, despite the domination of the Oilers over the Canucks. With the 4-1 victory by the Oilers in Game Three, the Canucks were so demoralised, that almost no one expected the Canucks to win. Of the 16,000 fans that attended the final game, around 14,000 were Oilers fans.

Isaiah Dunsten of the Lions and Jack Ingall of the Grizzlies were line-mates during the World Cup of Hockey. Back to this league, they were rivals. Dunsten scored three of the four goals of the Lions in Games 1 and 2 as the Lions took the lead. Then, Ingall scored all three goals of the Grizzlies in Games 3 and 4. Dunsten, though, scored a hat-trick in Game 5 and a brace in Game 6 as the Lions rolled over the Grizzlies.

Dorov ran into his Achilles' heel, the Hammerheads; notably, Brent and Tyler Cohen, who not only helped the Hammerheads defend but also scored a total of seven goals between them, providing an offense to a team that already has a flashy winger in Victor Hansen. Nevin Barston scored five goals as well as the end-to-end passer also found a sweet touch for the goal.

Since there are now three (edit: four) interested nations, it seems like the right time to publicly announce the First People's Internationstatal Ice Hockey Invitational. The following nations have confirmed and will send 1-3 teams each:

Free South Califas
Michael VII
Northern Sunrise Islands
Mapletish

I have sent TG invitations to the lowest-ranked nations, but if any of the higher-ranked ones want to send some unranked or low-ranked teams, let me know. Also, if M7, NSI and Maple want to go ahead and run a 4-nation tournament with 2 teams each instead of waiting for more, shoot a TG. Thanks all :)

The first People's Ice Hockey Club Invitational (PIHCI 1) commences at La Jolla Ice Town, University, San Diego, home of the University SD club.

A tournament for nations with low CHL rankings, PIHCI has humble beginnings with only four nations entered. It will be a double round robin for RP only, not determining any international seeds.

Home United Lions

Michael VII
Bensville Raiders

University SD

Northern Sunrise Islands
Madjorie Casters

The Lions are expected to bring the PIHCI Cup home with them, as the only team with internationstatal hockey experience. However, Michael VII have been to the CHL before and have some idea of what await them. FSC and NSI both have brand new leagues, sending their top four to the CHL for the first time this season.

EDIT: The scores formerly posted here are invalid. Here are the real scores:

There was a calculation error with the coefficients in my hockey invitational. Home United should not have swept quite so easily. I will rescore the tournament and edit its post soon. Sorry everyone.

Edit:This was done, check the new results above.

HOCKEY INFORM - FINALS AT MATTHEW CITY

After a huge tournament, tickets are already in hand for the Thirteenth Edition of the Champions Hockey League final as the InComm Arena hosts a match-up between two of the most classy teams on international hockey as the New Athens Warriors from Camwood and the Scott City Oilers from Darmen face each other in the considered "jewel" of the recent-nicknamed Sports City of NSI. The InComm Arena has been known for giving some aid to the home team, as this year, both teams playing on this arena, at least in soccer, the Senators and the Rangers obtained the titles of Premier League and League One. Whether this works out to Hockey as well, we shall know as the next season starts. Also, on a low note, no teams from NSI made any great shows at the League, being easily shredded by international competition.

Image
ANALYSIS OF THE NEW SEASON OF THE SUNRISE HOCKEY LEAGUE

NORTHERN DIVISION
The Northern Division proved to be the most competitive division, as five teams fought all the way for a spot at the Byrd Cup Battle. Eventually, the Seaside Squirtles leaded the Division, with New Hull Tigers, Lillepool Alouettes and Moncton Citadelles qualifying as well, leaving Dundee United behind, as well as not so competitive Castletown Sirs, Currien Zombies and Arrendine Remparts. However, this season could be a little tougher to them, since Mabel Wigglytuffs was announced as a new franchise, as well as the controversially not entered on the first season, Saint Paul Saints. Mabel is already appointed as a favorite, as the ITV team has been showing sucessfull results on various sports.

SOUTHERN DIVISION
Home of the, by far, most offended team on last season, the Mardi Capitals and also of last seasons' champion, Madjorie Castors, the Southern Division also says hello to two new franchises. The Cornhuskers of Darveston and the Senators of Matthew City, thus making the league have their very first intra-cities classic between Senators and Rangers. They are not top billed, though, as we still expect the Castors to pull another upset title, which wouldn't be as upsetting, but still very hillarious to haters of the Capitals.

MINORS LEAGUE
Introduced this season, the Minors League is implemented in order to capitalize on smaller markets and also to promote development of the NSI players. The following twelve teams will be involved:
Alledrenne Royals [Major: NINON BEART REAPERS]
Auxerre Snowflakes [Major: LILLEPOOL ALOUETTES]
Bryan Town Fury [Major: SELYNE CAVALIERS]
Eastern Mardi Hockey Bags [Major: MARDI CAPITALS]
Glastershire Kings [Major: NEW HULL TIGERS]
Luke Town Skywalkers [Major: MATTHEW CITY RANGERS]
Madeline Yellows [Major: MADJORIE CASTORS]
Middleford Rangers [Major: DUNDEE UNITED]
Racentrine Citadelles [Major: MONCTON CITADELLES]
Ryukyu Samurais [Major: LORELEI SHINOBI]
Saint Jacques-et-Michèl Nordiques [Major: ARRENDINE REMPARTS]
Sydneywood Hockeyroos [Major: MAORI ALL BLACKS]

As a rule, no new franchise is allowed to field a minors team during their first season. Next season, there are talks about Mignon Beart, Senators, Mabel and Currien starting their minors.

Congrats to Camwood and the New Athens Warriors on winning their second ever CHL title. Rankings and rules for CHL 14 will be posted sometime tomorrow, probably in the evening.

Thanks to Yeso for scorinating the game.

As scorinated here and here, the CHL entrants for Free South Califas are as such:

1. Ontario
2. Channel Islands
3. Riverside
4. University

Additional RP:

South Califas sponsorship and host bids were edged out for CHL 13, as one of the region's two former NHL venues failed to gain support in the oddly kinetic voting process. IU 500, the Federal Transportation and Communication Workers, came in second in a close primary vote but was bizarrely trounced by the logo of a media company that consisted of plain white letters on a plagiarized silhouette. The players from UTC Ice Town in University, San Diego, were more successful, however. Announcing their presence on the international scene in a big way, University upended its CHL group before making a daring run all the way to the quarterfinals as one of the elite eight clubs, even in its first year of professionalization. That they are the only South Califas team to qualify for both editions of the CHL thus far, and slipped from the first to the fourth seed in doing so after being eliminated twice in the playoffs, speaks to the parity of the young league. Paramount, for example, the finalist and second seed from the first season, finished dead last this year and will play in the Amateur League until they win their way back in. Trends are expected to begin solidifying in the coming season. (OOC: I will start to use rankings on the next campaign.)

After a strong season and a Cup win, the Scholars carried that success on to the CHL group stage. They also dominated on both ends of the ice, like they did in the Free South Califas Hockey League. A perfect 4-0 at the UTC Ice Town, routing their opponents 8-2, the Scholars were a respectable 0-2-2 on the road, picking up the extra 2 points necessary to win the group outright. They were tied for the best defense in Group G, tied for 9th in the CHL, allowing only 9 goals, and were the second-best offense in scoring 12.

SUNRISE HOCKEY LEAGUE SEASON TWO (2014)

Welcome to the second season ever of the Sunrise Hockey League, NSI's sole hockey competition. After a month of talks, the SHL will also include an international division formed by ten franchises of the Unzucneru Association, a region already somehow aligned to NSI on football. These teams will act as if they were NSI teams, so if any of these teams qualify, they will be occupying a spot of any Sunrisian team. This season will also include a different format as all three divisions, Northern, Southern and International will be now Conferences, each with two divisions. The format of each team facing each other four times will continue to be used. The six divisional champions plus the second best-runner ups will qualify to the second round, where we shall have the CHL representants for next season.
