In the alternate timeline? Hladgos sided with the Republic, and is a major power in it. In the normal timeline, we hold our own, but just barely.

No, I mean in the normal timeline territory claims. I've checked yout PFT claims and they are practically nothing compared to what I've determined a galaxy and all of its satellites would be...

Oh, well, I know nothing of reality, so I'll just go with what you think would be excessive. In all reality, Hladgos would want a sizable portion of every galaxy they went to, just so that they could have a significant military presence.

Alright then...

I'll guess that around 200 billion systems makes a major power, and no one can have over 300 billion or something like that?

Then again, I would still probably have less than you, considering I have no need for mining anymore. I would just set of scientific bases and culture centers and such. You might have more than me.

Hmmm... That makes sense. I just really need all of the matter I can get, seeing as I just retconned my vacuum energy extraction tech.

Kreanoltha would need a lot of uninhabitable systems since they need to mine still. They use planet cracking and they wouldn't want to crack habitable worlds that they need for agriculture.

Perhaps you may want our large-scale atomic and molecular manipiculation technology? Very energy consuming unless you also have things which turn waste heat back into usable energy (like our other... nevermind), but it saves us the need to selectively mine. Instead, all we need is matter. And there is a lot of that...

They might be driven out of the business by Hladgos, since we can sell raw materials for probably a twenty fifth that everyone else is selling them for.

Selling and the monetary system? So old... In Dolmhold, everything is free, unless you are talking about wait times on your order, which is very low.

That is not the case with outsiders though...

Well, pure PFT would be horribly boring. There would be no motives, no killing, and most of all, no money. There's nothing to work from.

Umm... Pure post-scarcity you mean? And there'd be plenty of motives. Much more then in a monetary system. As for killing, not against your own nation, but relationships between nations may suck. No money? No issue really. Money isn't god, not even in our real world.

Returns High Five! But seriously why would any logical civilization still have currency, as money just ruins everything. Thankyou dolm you said exactly what i was thinking.

Well, there would be nothing to do, except explore, and any wars would be quick and boring, due to the amount of tech they had.

Kreanoltha always has a monetary system, and it makes sense since almost 99% of Kreanolthans are diehard capitalists. Also, the speed with which a planet can be mined these days means that most raw materials are pretty cheap to begin with.

This^ My people are very content in exploration and they find it gives them meaning in life, also there is plenty to do like arts and culture and others. Not everything has to be all about war.

Umm... Plenty. Research, design, play, create art, etc.

Unless you are including intellectual post scarcity by means of AI, of which then we can't predict that. At all. It is called the technological singularity, and it is supposivly coming by 2047... Intellectual post-scarcity is scary. It undermines everything and anything... Material post scarcity on the other hand unlocks the true human potential.

As for wars quick and boring... that is a maybe. Even today, look at the Iraq War. The USA steamrolled over Iraq easily. That is just as quick and boring. The USA only lost 7 thousand lives. What is this? Tribal Warfare? The USA lost so little that the media coverage given to it would have made their great grandfathers cry in shame that they raised a bunch of sissies.

Another view would be that it would be somewhat exciting and last forever, as both sides has all of the resources ever to throw at each other. People actually fighting in these fights would be quickly phased out, even IRL, but the machines would be in perpetual warfare. We really don't know.

Idea. After machines were created to fight wars themselves, they started a war and eradicated everything. Then they developed their own society or something.

The Tamashkis don't use planet cracking, viewing it as wasteful. Because of this, mining is somewhat slower. However, Tamashkis produce their food via photosynthesis, and reproduce via spores, so the need for agriculture is pretty minute. Also, a single Tamashki can create an entire population.

Well, not exactly possible without an AI, but with an AI that may be the case.

And that day is coming soon. That's the scary thing.
