Thats how much we could go in atmosphere, but almost always we go at a slower speed. Also with impulse engines its possible to go 80% the speed of light easily. But with these engines on my UCSAVs its usually around and a little less than 2/3 light speed. Hey star treks shuttles can do this, why cant my fighters do the same.
Also my impulse engines our powered by red matter and therefore have limitless power and have no need for refueling, just a need to replenish torpedos.
Lucky you have red matter...
Although if I had limitless energy, I could create limitless matter and so my spacecraft would be sending out missiles out of nowhere all day and all night... I see this going somewhere...
Haha now thats funny Also i usually just use Red matter to power up systems and starships and stuff like that. The only offensive red matter weapon i have is the RM missile or if you count an overloaded Red Matter core, which creates just a regular sized blackhole when detonated.
