Unfortunately, there will be a short time in-between when there is no World Assembly resolution protecting the right of habeas corpus, but hopefully that will only be a short time."

Nations follow resolutions. They can't NOT follow resolutions because compliance is mandatory.

If you don't want to be influenced by international opinion then you can merely quit the WA. That gives you total control over your nation again.

Hold your horses mister, what your saying is a form of a Communistic government. The WA's inspiration comes from an extradimensional organization, the United Nations. The UN had no control over issues in countries whether or not they were members. The UN only was involved in sanctions and interventions, as well as social issues affecting their world.

Orleania, perhaps you should spend a bit more time reading the sticky threads and a little less time arguing before you have any facts. Also, flaming is against site rules.

Please reference the One Stop Rule Shop and the General Assembly Rules before posting again.

Yeeeeeah, I'm afraid that's not how things work around here.

From the Game FAQ:
What's the World Assembly?

The World Assembly is the world's governing body. It's your chance to mold the world to your vision, by voting for resolutions you like and scuttling the rest. However, it's a double-edged sword, because your nation will be affected by any resolutions that pass. (Unfortunately you can't obey the resolutions you like and ignore the rest, like real nations.) In other words, it's a hot-bed of political intrigue and double-dealing. [Source]

No, you author a good piece of legislation and submit it to the World Assembly for vote. Quite simple to understand.

With a side of influence peddling. Point is, after all this confusion on my part, I now believe I have a solution to the Habeas Corpus repeal. I propose a resolution.

No, it is that resolutions can't be amended. It is a technical limitation of the game's code. For more information read this post.

What's wrong is that during times of war, traitors should be detained without question. That draft does not include any section on that issue.
