Well, we haven't talked about it a lot since it died a bit, but now it's revived. I don't think it would be time for the Jukies now at all, as there haven't been a lot albums yet. You can get nominated by submitting songs and albums in the thread.

I'd still like for Artsakhestan to post his host bid. Let's not close the bidding without him just yet, if that's allright.

If we're going down that route, Lena Meyer-Landrut was also born in May (and, rather coincidentally, on the *exact* same day [23 May 1991] as my best friend Caroline - who's also a singer [admittedly, an amateur one, but a singer nonetheless]).

Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)

ՍՏԵՊԱՆԱՐՎԱՇԱՏ ԱՇԽԱՐՀԵՏԵՍԻԼ 21
STEPANARVASHAT ASHKHARHETESIL 21
Stepanarvashat, WorldVision 21

The mayor of Stepanarvashat, Mané Kocharyan; the winner of WorldVision 20, Sofi Shahumyan; the president of the Public Television of Artsakhestan (Արծախիանի հանրային հեռուստաընկերություն, Artsakhiani Hanrayin Herrustaënkerut'yun), Arto Badalyan; and the inhabitants of the Ararat Valley, are presenting the Official Bid of Stepanarvashat to host the 21st edition of the WorldVision Song Contest to the world audience.

Image

Part 1: K'aghak' (The City)
Stepanarvashat is the capital city of Artsakhestan since the IVth century B.C.; and it has been the symbol of development of the Artsakhiani nation for these more than 2000 years. It has a population of 8.8 million people (10% of the national population), and its skyline is dominated by lots of hills (with parks), and the Ararat Mountain. The Business District is home to the buildings over 7 stories high, the rest of the city is everything but tall, giving it a heart-warming ambience.

Image

Book Publishing and Theatre are the largest industries of the city; and it has been the Capital of Culture of the Fledgling Region in 2000 (when the award was created), 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2010. Culture is the life of the city, and as such, the opera, the ballet, the cinemas, are everywhere. Prominent films and plays are showcased every day on these arenas; but even with such a big indoor cultural life... You have to go to the streets to enjoy the true flavor of music. The Stepanarvashatis (people who live in Stepanarvashat, stress on the last syllable) stop many times going towards work to live up the music...

Image

The hotels and hostals are not something to worry about. Artsakhestan's booming industry is Tourism, just after a Free Transit Agreement was signed with Euskirribakondara, Fledgling-Region's largest tourist attraction. There's everything from low-cost cosy rooms; to the luxurious Aragatsi Hotel suites. The artists will have suits on the latter, and the press will have second-class rooms on the same hotel. Tourists will be able to make reservations as soon as (if the bid wins, of course) the bid is confirmed as the winner.

Image

Food in Artsakhestan is quite amazing for a country that has to stand harsh winters and where agriculture is somewhat difficult since 2/3 of the country are pure mountains. Nonetheless, you'll fill yourself with the biggest treats that this Armenian-heritage cuisine has to offer. Lavash bread will accompany most foods, and many, many presentations of meat are there for you to enjoy. Fish coming from the large rivers around Ararat Mountain will also be available, but the thing you'll enjoy the most... are the fruits. Around 20 different species of Apricots and Pears are found in Artsakhestan, thus, being the national fruits.

Image

Transportation shouldn't be a problem. One of the only good legacies left from the oppresive Communist regime of Ebrorendonostia, 50 years ago; is the Subway/Tube system, called "Mitro". Plus, eco-friendly buses and taxis go all over the city, and you're able to take one 24/7. Safety is not a problem either, Stepanarvashat has not had a single crime since 2008. Following the example of the biggest cities around the world, Stepanarvashat is implementing bikeways all over the city; and bike rentals are already available.

Image

And when you're done eating, visiting, resting, watching plays/movies/concerts, or even living the WorldVision Song Contest; you can always do anything else. Amusements parks, aquatic parks, giant malls, museums, or even thrilling activities like bungee jumping can be found on every district of Stepanarvashat. And don't worry.... You'll always have an Artsakhiani friendly hand to show you, to help you, to guide you...

Image

Part 2: Sts'yenar (The Scenario)
The venue chosen for the contest is the Zvartnots-Echmiadzin National Stadium. On its normal configuration, the stadium can host up to 70.000 people. For the show, it will host 80.000 people from all over the world. The stadium will be divided in two parts, 2/3 correspond to the stage and the audience, and the other third will be the press centre and commentators area. The green rooms will be on the area below the stage, already existant.

Image

The stage will represent the logo, and the mountains that are the symbol of the nation. A 3-D model would be made in case the bid wins (like Euski's stage for WHF). But for now (and as a back-up) we'd have a large version of the following stage:

Image

The motto will be the base for the postcards. The postcards will feature the name of the performing country in Armenian, with its transcription; the song info, and a image that represents something about Artsakhiani places, culture and traditions. The motto is "YES-YERGER-YES-SER", which means "I am music; I am love"; a motto to express the fan feelings during the contest. Also, 'yes' can be understood from its english meaning... so it's a yes on music, yes on love!

Part 3: Lezu yev M'shakuyt (Language and Culture)
Artsakhestan's demonym is Artsakhiani... So let's get talking about Artsakhiani culture!

Language
Artsakhiani's official language, (unlike its western-bordering-country) is Armenian, on its Eastern Variant; although, the Western Variant is widely understood. Armenian has got its own alphabet, and you'll see it a lot. The second and third most-widely-spoken languages in Artsakhestan are Euskal and English, respectively. The Armenian alphabet can be seen here.

*ChenkorVision intro and images from CV3 are shown*

Yuliya Novacek: Good evening Chenkorya! Welcome to the big, grand final of the fourth edition of ChenkorVision, Chenkorya's national selection for the WorldVision Song Contest, live from Avenion. Tonight, the televoters from each province, and an international jury decide who is going to represent Chenkorya in Luziyca, The Republic of Lanos, Albertasby, Costa Fiero or Artsakhestan.

Edita Maruski: Spaxhibo Chenkorya! Goedenavond Chenkorië! This year, 6789 songs were submitted to ChenkorVision, to be precise. Only 105 of them were allowed to perform in the provincial finals, which selected six songs for it's province. Each semifinal had 3 entries from each province.

Y: That makes 21 songs for each semi. Only 10 of them have automatically qualified for the big final, 8 have gone to second chance round and two were automatically eliminated. Those 10 have been selected by everyone in the country, and the bottom two too. Only two survived the second chance round, which was decided by Chenkoryan jury. The two qualifiers from the second chance round are... Patriksson Family and Young Butt Beautiful! Congratulations! Of course they already knew this.

E: Let's welcome all contenders for the Chenkoryan ticket to WorldVision... Martha, HardLost, Outside, Life of Marina's Daughter, Lakshma Ackermann, The Saweds, Brant Naoumov, Mathilde van Oirschotten, Radu DiAntonio, Vody, Mademoiselle, Terezija and the Laydowns, Katelyn Strand, the Patriksson Family, Ariel Maccus, Marthe Simon, Young Butt Beautiful, Markii Papalou, verba., Oda and last and not least... Samantha Butlin!

*camera goes to another side of the arena, to the catwalk, where another presenter is standing; Charis Nostima.*

C: The first artist of tonight is the main singer of the band The Lunettes, and she sometimes also sings for a band called Radio Internet. We're talking about Martha, and tonight she will perform her jazz/rock song By The Way. Scream it out loud for Martha with By The Way!

*Martha performs*

E: The next act performing in the second final, is another big favourite, Kapitol Raionne's favourite in this case. HardLost is an electro-pop duo, existing out of Arkhip Evseev and Dmitry Matveyev. They have their sharp suits, their slick hair and their stark visuals. Arkhip and Dmitry are perfoming a synthpop song tonight, here they are; HardLost!

*HardLost performs*

E: And the third song of tonight is by Outside. Outside is Chenkorya's most famous metal band, and they have tried so many times at ChenkorVision, that you actually already award them the victory. Tonight, they will do it a little bit less metalish as usual, but still it's called metal. Here are Outside, with their song Elena!

*Outside performs*

Y: Now we're going to number three. Life of Marina's Daughter is a former indie pop band, but for ChenkorVision they have totally done something else, something more mainstream. Their song Ya Vidchuvayte Tebe was supposed to be another melody, but the band got accused of plagiarism. Scream it out loud for Ya Vidchuvayte Tebe!

*LMD performs*

C: Lakhsma Ackermann, she will be one of the outsiders for this edition of ChenkorVision. Maybe nearly surviving the semi's, this singer songwriter may be a big surprise in the final, with her happy, totally suited for festivals, song Zlamanii. Whatever, at the outsider thing, I'm just saying something. Here is Lakshma!

*Lakshma Ackermann performs*

E: The Saweds are a pair of singer-songwriters; the two sisters Love and Natella Sawed. The two former ballerinas turned to songstresses, releasing their first album called Evelyn in 2000. The story of the ballerina may sound known to you: also singer-songwriter Shammion is a former ballerina. Good luck to the Saweds, with Promise.

*The Saweds perform*

Y: Next up is Brant Naoumov. For representing Chenkorya at WorldVision, he wrote his song True Mistakes. It would be a song that could be a perfect one for Denmark on the Eurovision Song Contest, but he lives in Chenkorya, so he thought.. hey, why not try it here? Here he is, with True Mistakes!

*Brant Naoumov performs*

C: Next up is the eighth song of this semifinal. This lady is called Mathilde van Oirschotten, and with her happy chanson Ik Wil Met Je Dansen, she represents the Dutch province of Chenkorya, Hollandieux. Mathilde's music style is a mix between jazz, soul and acoustic, and after the success of her first single "Ze Stinkt", she is hoping to represent her nation with the second single of her debut album "Mathilde". Good luck, Mathilde van Oirschotten with Ik Wil Met Je Dansen!

*Mathilde van Oirschotten performs*

E: And here's number 9. Radu DiAntonio is a pop vocalist, with a beautiful raw voice, with cool mainstream pop songs and ballads, totally suited for the radio. His song Ambitions is already played a lot on the radio.. Here is Ambitions, by Radu DiAntonio!

*Radu DiAntonio performs*

Y: Song number 10 is by Vody. Vody is a dance-pop group, with their huge breakthrough in 1997. After some huge success in and outside Chenkorya, the group splitted up. In 2008 the group reformed, with a huge style change. This time they sang black, dark and sad pop. One more black, dark, sad pop song from them is coming now; Siniy Snih!

*Vody performs*

C: Stanislava Kornilova, that's her real name. But for us, she's just Mademoiselle. Mademoiselle, one of the most controversial, most talked about artists, a real fashionista. For tonight she has written a song about an Italian lover, called Buonanotte. Here she is, with Buonanotte!

*Mademoiselle performs*

E: Terezija and the Laydowns is the recording name of singer-songwriter Terezija Artemieva, and the people who make the background music for her, but Terezija is the only constand member of the band. They participated in CV one time before, and finished in the top 5 with their song Water Power, now they're back for revenge, with We'll Shine.

*Terezija and the Laydowns performs*

Y: We're arrived at song number thirteen. The 13th lady who's performing tonight, is Katelyn Strand. Katelyn is a indie pop/rock/jazz singer-songwriter, known for her participance in the second season of the NationStates X Factor. She expresses all her feelings in her songs, and now she's one of the most beautiful famous women of Chenkorya, but she's also a great singer. Here is Katelyn Strand with Elizabeth!

*Katelyn Strand performs*

C: The first song of tonight is by the Patriksson Family. The Patriksson Family is a indie folk band formed in september 2008, in the province of Hollandieux. They are making their ChenkorVision debut with a song written by the main singer himself, Alfred Patriksson. Please welcome on stage, the Patriksson Family with Little Bravehearted Boy!

*Patriksson Family performs*

E: Ariel Maccus is a pop singer-songwriter from Chenkorya, of course. With almost all her songs being about partying, love and pink stuff, she isn't the best writer every, but gosh, she's a singer... great. Tonight she will perform the beautiful love song Those Tears! With Those Tears, Ariel Maccus.

*Ariel Maccus performs*

Y: The first 16th of tonight is by Marthe Simon. Marthe is mostly known for finishing in a tied first place at the World Hit Festival with her song "Adem de Lucht", usually Marthe makes more rnb music, but the last time she is going in the pop direction. Marthe usually sings in Dutch, but for ChenkorVision she will sing the English song "Why". Good luck Marthe!

*Marthe Simon performs*

C: The next band of tonight is a pun; Young Butt Beautiful. Young Butt Beautiful is an alternative rock band, formed in 2004. The band consists of Alexandr Rubyov, Eve Dedrdon, Erik Léveu, Tuyhad Huszadeehd and Youlian Uvianrut. According to them, each song has some kind of political message that would like to protest against the current world politics. Scream it out for You Shouldn't Go, by Young Butt Beautiful!

*Young Butt Beautiful performs*

E: Markii Papalou was born as Marcus Papadoulos in the big city, but later moved to the countryside. Life was boring there, he stalled his judo carreer to concentrate on his other passion, music. After some hard working, he released his first album, Markii, in january 2012. Here's the rapper who likes to use dubstep in his songs, Markii Papalou!

*Markii Papalou performs*

Y: verba., it's a surprise they haven't participated at ChenkorVision before. Verba is a rock band, mixing the style of metal with hip-hop, electronic and also some ethno music. Verba will perform a self composed song tonight, but with famous songwriters as Ebba Debrunovick and Arvid. Here they are, with The Highest Tree!

*verba. performs*

C: One of the most unknown but also promising artists of this edition of ChenkorVision is Oda, born as Odaslava Dolgurukova. Oda is a singer and music producer from Sazapkhulo, who rose to fame by "Chenkoryan Idol" in 2004, well, rose to fame, she finished 12th. Since then she hasn't really released any singles, until now. And wow, that's a song! Here is Oda, with Symphonia!

*Oda performs*

E: verba., it's a surprise they haven't participated at ChenkorVision before. Verba is a rock band, mixing the style of metal with hip-hop, electronic and also some ethno music. Verba will perform a self composed song tonight, but with famous songwriters as Ebba Debrunovick and Arvid. Here they are, with The Highest Tree!

*verba. performs*

Y: Last is one of Chenkorya's most famous singers; Samantha Butlin. Samantha was the first ever singer to represent Chenkorya on a song contest: Samantha sang her song "Electric" on the first WHF, finishing 13th. After that she tried some times again in ChenkorVision, and so did her little sister Galina. But now she is back, better as ever, and she will sing her catchy song Violin for us!

*Samantha Butlin performs*

If we're going down that route, Lena Meyer-Landrut was also born in May (and, rather coincidentally, on the *exact* same day [23 May 1991] as my best friend Caroline - who's also a singer [admittedly, an amateur one, but a singer nonetheless]).

Lena's birthday was celebrated during the rehearsals. Also, the Maltese entrant from last year, Glen Vella, celebrated his birthday during the Eurovision 2011 final; it was a May 14 I think.

Aaaandd, congratulations to the singers of Symphonia (whom I forgot) for winning ChenkorVision!

I cannot comprehend why people hate Islam so much. Yes, some Muslims caused 9/11, but that doesn't mean all of them are terrible people. I have met many kind Islamic people. I think everyone just needs to accept other religions, because there is no proven "better" religion. That goes for Jewish people, too.

Honestly, can we just act a little human for once?

Artist: Lejn Andersson
Song: Reveleksens (Revelations)
Genre: Rock
Language Ansleizn / English
Broadcaster Alpaisne Interior Telekast (In Association with Telekast Karpathia, Stadt Telekast Lithany, Medi Dåtsche Repåvlikk, Kårdtland Radio, and West Nÿe Ansleizn Transit Avthoradt)

luck be with all who compete.

Yup, May 14th. And had one more country voted for him, he'd have been performing on his birthday (he would have gone level on points with Switzerland so it would have gone to countback - they would have been level on number of voters, so it would have gone to 12s received; Glen got more than Anna Rossinelli).

Obviously. If there is one word that describes Kalasparata, it is obviously "smart."
