It is legal to have a sex change in Dong Huang as long as it is done before the age of 20. Sex change is illegal for citizens aged 20 and above. Patients applying for a legal sex change would have to provide the funds necessary for the procedure to be done.

Legal in theory, rare in practice. However, most of these are holodeck-assisted, temporary modifications mostly meant for the kind of carnal pleasure that Xeno-Tech makes a good deal of its profits off of. If one was to go through permanent, biochemical alteration, it would be seen as nothing more than flipping the gender coin, which ceased to really be an issue as far as 'civilians' go. If a female wishes to enter the male-exclusive XenoMarines, however, they will be chemically and genetically altered into a state of sufficient masculinity so as to obtain the greatest possible physical capability and make themselves the most useful soldier they can be.

Not only is it legal, But FoxCo Medical Will give out these operations for free, By Direct order of the CEO. (Who has a nasty habit of investing in unprofitable things because of his own personal beliefs....Not that FoxCo Could ever go bankrupt, with the amount of services they provide, They Could easily change the gender of every citizen and still have cash to spare)

In The Free Land of Praotos, people who believe they were born with a sex they don't identify with are provided with psychological care, hormonal treatment and sex-change surgery under the government's free health care plan.

Citizens can change official papers to reflect new names, pictures and gender. This is not charged. They must be recognized officially by this civil identification by all citizens with no discrimination.

Yes, sex changes are legal in Cryath, and have been ever since we developed the appropriate skill and technology to perform the operations correctly. We see nothing wrong with people who wish to have a shape that matches the way they feel they should be.

Even one of our heads of state, President Francis Wearney of Gracin region, has had a sex change. He had it whilst running for office, after his time as Celarian Minister of Agriculture Frances Wearney.

Not now, not ever. In Nate Land, due to the catholic influence in the government, whatever gender you are born, you must stay that sex throughout your life. However, same sex marriage is legal.

It is entirely legal in Ruridova, and the surgery is free if you go to a government clinic. If you go to a private one, you can apply to get up to 30% of the surgery paid for.

Of course, but the government doesn't yet pay for them. If you can get the money for it in legal ways and make sure to go through the necessary paperwork involved with changing your sex and identity, then we don't really care. Good for you.

Even gender swapping, which with the latest in Mercatoran Genetic Engineering can be done completely, all the way to being a fully fertile member of the opposite sex.

That said, records tend not to be kept, for their convenience and safety. Public morality tends to frown on such behaviour.

^ This.

The hardline Southern Baptists of the TurtleShroom government didn't have to form their stance on body mutilation as this for decades after most of the world found it.

As of today, it is a felonious crime of sixty years to practice a sex change surgery in TurtleShroom. To seek one or obtain one carries the punishment of a lifetime of involuntary institutionalization in a mental hospital.

Now for some history.

The notion of changing one's gender didn't even exist in TurtleShroom until 1995. The religious stranglehold on TurtleShroomer medicine in non-lifesaving fields (especially cosmetic/plastic surgery and Botox, which are only in their infancies in TurtleShroom) kept the notion from even COMING to TurtleShroom doctors.

When it hit, the immediate reaction by the government was that no one would want it and that the good old Free Market would kill it. Wrong. There was a tiny but deep-pocketed niche that wouldn't stop installing boobs and mutilating their wingdings.
The government's next step was fiscal. "Sin Tax" the HECK out of it. A one hundred percent sin taxation- literally raising the price over double its market value -was on the books until 2008. The government had been rapidly enacting legislation to eviscerate it, but not ban it, because at the time, TS gave a care what the world thought of it.

The nail in the coffin was when a transgender manlady sued the government to allow his change in 2008. He cited the Constitution's prevision that stated the government isn't to intervene in the free market, except in regards to moral issues, preventing corruption and fruad, and Prohibition.

The courts ruled that transgender mutilation was immoral, and even stretched it to the nation's definition of marriage, which included a critical clause reading "of whom were of this gender at birth". It referred to a husband and a wife having to be born a male and female respectively, to close a transgender loophole.
They stated it was the intent of the Founders to prevent such "filthy perversion", and stuck the item down. They also issued a permanent injunction on all transgender operations and practices in TurtleShroom. The case was "Johnathan 'Crystal' Wine v. All Things Good and Decent.

After the case was decided, the Congress in TurtleShroom officialy banned all sex-change processes in 2011.
Medical schools are forbidden to teach it and no doctor can lawfully practice it. Since then, underground doctors have gone the way of backstreet coat hanger abortionists and change genders LITERALLY in the closet.

It is frowned upon by the Keepers of the Word, but if the said citizen expresses a deep need to change their sex, then a full test is issued, a written consent from his or her Parents, an a Priest's Blessing, a full explanation of pro and cons, then the procedure is carried out. Usually sex changes occur when there is no male child to carry the family name forward, or the child is a only child. The procedure is quite painless, as the Priest are fully equipped for it. However reversing the procedure, will cause more harm to the citizen, hence why there is a test. Usually the Citizen chooses to be a Hermaphrodite.

A Bill called "The Reanimation." was issued by the Senate, endorsed by the Keepers of the Word and sanctioned by the Sovereign, as there had been citizens that had gone to Cowboy Doctor's, to have this procedure done, and had caused more harm to their body then they had hoped for.

The Senate had been split in this debate. The Right Wing have disagreed with this procedure, calling a act against the creation of the Almighty, and have issued a Veto for the Bill to be revoked, and for Sex-Change to be fully outlawed from Tenebra.

For now the bill is in the hands of the Sovereign, it will be her ultimate decision if the "The Reanimation" Bill remains or is revoked.

Sex-Changes are not legal in Ruskarkand, and for good reason as well.
Sex-Changes are physically impossible to perform on Dragonkinians, the reproductive organs of either gender are tucked away underneath a good layer of natural armor, surgical tools cannot penetrate this armor, and it cannot be coaxed to move due to the Biological details of the Dragonkin.

Thus, we outlaw it. Not because it's considered unnatural, we would give them the choice if they had it, but we don't because it's impossible.
Any other species will have to abide by the law as well, Dragonkin come first before anything else in Ruskarkand, because they can't means that they can't.

Gender reassignment surgery is legal and endorsed. Citizens who are diagnosed with gender dysphoria may receive the operations at the expense of the government.
