Maybe dragons took their jobs. Maybe unicorns only hid their jobs because unicorns are dicks. Maybe 'jobs' is only an illusion created by a drug addled infant pachyderm. Fuck dude, if we're in 'maybe' land, don't hold back.

I'd be interested in getting my hands on it. It may not be the greatest game in the world, but it's a platform, and plenty of people invested time in building accounts there. If nothing else we'd throw it up on a server and let people play.
But the first part is true: it's Jolt/OMAC's code and they're not going to release it. (I remember when they pulled the plug on Planeterion, they not only took it down but refused to let the admins, who wanted to host it themselves, use the IP.)

We have no legal claim to the NS2 code, we don't want that crappy NS2 code, and given how difficult it has been for those of us officially affiliated with Nationstates to prod Jolt into doing anything, you're not going to fare any better.
Max doesn't need your help, and antagonizing Jolt on his behalf for something he doesn't even want is not going to do anybody any good. Leave off on it, seriously.

Name please?
It was probably someone with a similar name. There's Maxtopian, Maxtopians, Maxganistan, and many others. Max Barry's nation, I would expect, would just be an average nation with no "Max" in its name, to avoid people suspecting who is really behind the nation.
Somehow, I can feel this player is a n00b...
