Administrator Amarillo Manzano is the leader of the Nomadic Peoples of YellowApple. Little is known in regard to his identity prior to the founding of YellowApple, with those who once knew who he was sworn to secrecy and long dead. What is known is that he was at one time an executive in a small computer technology firm in California when it still existed as part of the United States of America. Annoyed with the string of economic crashes, he used his earnings to construct what is now referred to as "Old Manzanopolis Prime", the oldest structure in all of YellowApple: a gigantic, U-shaped dirigible capable of comfortably supporting a population of up to 5,000 while being completely self-sufficient.

Upon founding YellowApple, Adm. Manzano began an intense economic and military development program with the tiny population of several thousand citizens he had at his disposal, and took on the name Amarillo Manzano to avoid any "distractions" regarding his original identity. He first emphasized survival, directing the slowly expanding network of airships to the South Pacific while ordering the construction of various hydroponic and aquaponic "skyfarms" to support the gradually growing population.

Adm. Manzano has continually extended his lifespan by replacing failing organs with mechanical counterparts. Presently, only his nervous system is mostly organic, the rest of his body being either heavily augmented by electromechanical enhancements or replaced altogether.

Sam's father, whose identity cannot be disclosed in accordance to YellowApplan privacy laws, was a notorious armed robber, and was killed by gunshot during an attempted arrest by the YellowApple Domestic Security Corps. If not for Sam's profound beauty in Manzano's eyes, her entire family of one mother and 5 siblings would have been placed with the burden of paying the over ¥A 5 million in damages and fines; instead, she was given the option of contractual servitude under Manzano himself, which she reluctantly accepted for the sake of her family.

Barely a teenager, Samantha was instantly thrown into a life of physical satisfaction of her new master. Despite being initially on lower footing than more experienced and trusted personal servants of Manzano, Sam rapidly gained his trust through consistent obedience and was elevated from a purely sexual role to that of a consistent companion. Within a year, she was Manzano's most trusted servant, accompanying him as his "personal assistant" in both national and international travels. This level of trust has made her almost an indirect leader, allowing her to influence Manzano's decision-making and tactics.

After two years, Sam's family was notified of the official waiving of her father's crimes; Sam, however, maintained her service, enjoying the life of luxury and elevated social status as Manzano's favorite servant. As further reward for her dedication and faithfulness, Manzano ordered her entire family to receive lifetime financial support of up to ¥A 150,000 annually. Upon the press learning of Manzano's surprising acts of generosity, the rumors of engagement, or a committed relationship at the very least, began to multiply throughout YellowApplan tabloids, and continues to be the subject of much speculative debate today.
