Role: The monarchs' roles are to lead the nation. They, if in agreement together, may veto bills passed by Parliament. (Note: The Prime Minister can call for another vote and if over 2/3 of Parliament wishes to pass the bill, it is law.) They are the official Heads of State. This is unique, the nation has two heads of state. The Archduke and Archduchess are co-rulers, one is not dominant over the other. The only difference is, the Archduke is the Commander of the Imperial Danathian Army and the Quench Defense Forces, while the Archduchess is Commander of the Danathian Relief Service. With the approval of the Parliament, the Archduke may declare war on another nation. The Archduchess may, with the approval of the Parliament, send relief workers and supplies to wherever she deems necessary. They rule their separate realms, in order to reduce bureaucracy.

Current Archduke : In 1974, Archduke Tere Rikon was born to Grand Duke Baro Rikon and Grand Duchess Ameca Rikon as High Prince of the Grand Duchy of Danatha. The Grand Duchy thrived for years; the High Prince enjoyed his time playing golf, reading, studying politics, and advising his father on certain dilemmas. This all changed when Parliament passed a social reform changing the way the government operated. The Grand Duke abdicated, and the High Prince assumed the throne of Archduke at age 33. As Monarch of the Imperial Archduchy of Danatha, he married his wife, the previous Duchess of the Island (an area in Danatha) at age 34. Today, at age 37, he is the youngest monarch to ever hold the throne.
Current Archduchess: Countess Emeta Rikon (nee Ferdola) was born to her parents, the Duke and Duchess of the Island of Danatha. Through her childhood, and still today, she enjoys playing the piano. She participated in at least 10 servant missions every year since she was 13 years old, where she left her mansion on the Island of Danatha to help others. She studied music at Yettona University, the most prestigious university of music in Danatha. When her parents died, she became Duchess of the Island, and head of the Island provinces. She married Tere Rikon, and became his wife, the first Archduchess of Danatha.
Imperial Family:
Role: The royal family (specifically the children) is a model for all families. The children always choose a career field they wish to enter before they assume the throne. When the children reach the age of 15, they may start attending galas and balls in the stead of their parents', the monarchs. At age 18, they may begin representing Danatha in negotiations, but they cannot make any final decisions. The order of succession places the firstborn, regardless of gender, assumes the throne first.
Current Child: Sedna Rikon, Princess of Danatha, is the first and only child of the monarchs. She was born on December 2, 1996. She enjoys music and literature.

Role: The Vice Chairperson of the Board of Ministers, and Head of Government, is the Speaker of the upper house of Parliament, the Senate. He leads the procedure of Parliament, and may call for a second vote if a bill or act is vetoed by the monarchs. He/she oversees the other ministers and reports to the monarchs. He/she has the power to suspend a member from the Board, but not expel. Should the monarchs not produce an heir before their death, the Prime Minister is appointed Regent until the next monarch is determined. The Prime Minister is appointed by the Archduke and Archduchess and also removed by them. Parliament may call for a vote of no confidence to remove the PM.

Current: Prime Minister Cato Judd was always was influential in politics. He was elected Chancellor of the United Kingdoms of the World, and then served as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was recently elected on July 28th, 2011.

The Legislative Branch, the Parliament of Danatha

Upper House:
Role: The Senate is the upper house of Parliament. There are 187 Senators (3 from each province and 1 from New Danatha). They have 5 year terms, and one person may only serve 4 terms. You must be at least 30 years old to run for the Senate, and have no criminal record whatsoever, not even a misdemeanor. The Senate may introduce bills to amend the Constitution of Danatha, while the Chamber of Deputies may not. (The CD must still approve the amendments.) Also, the Senate may request to impeach the Prime Minister. If 3/4 of the Senate is in favor of impeachment, the Board of Ministers, excluding the Prime Minister of course, and the Archduke and Archduchess hold a trial. If he/she is proven guilty, he/she is immediately removed from office and the Archduke and Archduchess appoint a temporary Prime Minister until the next election.
Lower House:
Role: The Chamber of Deputies is the lower house of Parliament. They, as described above, have less powers than the Senate. There are 311 Representatives (5 from each province, and 1 from New Danatha). They are elected every 3 years, and may only serve 6 terms, or any combination of the two houses, as long as it does not amount to more than 20 years. There is one power the CD has that the Senate does not, to introduce a bill that will raise taxes. The CD elects its own Chancellor from it's members.
The Chancellor:
Role:The Chancellor, as stated above, is elected from the CD. He oversees the proceedings of the CD, sets the agenda, and may suspend a member from Parliament for up to two weeks. He has the power to call for the expulsion of a Representative. (The Board of Ministers, along with the Archduke and Archduchess decides for or against expulsion.) The Chancellor is also regarded as a more politically prominent figure than Representatives or Senators, but not more than the Prime Minister. He may be removed from office by the CD, through a vote of no confidence, which is called by a Representative.
