The Astograth National Football Team

Manager: Gartzen Treko - Age 76
Style: +1
Colours

Starting XI:
(Foreign clubs in italics)

GK - 1 - Zernin Aira - Age 24 - Sporting Iturributa – 47 caps
Stunning reflexes and aerial ability confirm Aira as the best keeper to come out of Astograth in years.

LB - 14 - Yuango Mendiola - Age 28 – Iturributa United – 32 caps
The league champions' best defender, Mendiola has effectively plugged the typically vulnerable left flank.

CB - 18 - Petrigai Mendiroz - Age 27 - Internazcionale Eliodoro – 53 caps, 2 goals
Highly concentrated and efficient, Mendiroz is a veritable rock in defense.

CB - 2 - Milian Erburu - Age 28 - Ituraitz FC – 51 caps, 1 goal
Undisputed center-back for one of the league's top teams, he tackles well and organizes the defense with authority.

RB - 5 - Elatzar Orbizo - Age 28 - Sporting Iturributa – 53 caps
This man's exceptional speed and dribbling set him apart from most full-backs.

LM - 11 - Urgutz Belarte - Age 22 - Arskanskigrad United – 56 caps, 3 goals
A true wonderkid, he is a gifted dribbler who always looks to cross the ball for the strikers.

CM - 6 - Edorta Urrustoy - Age 34 – Juvapanam – 47 caps, 4 goals
An outstanding anchor man capable of shooting from range and heading, twice league champion and Player of the Year in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu.

RM - 20 - Egerdi Bordato - Age 27 - Ituraitz FC – 56 caps, 4 goals
Ituraitz' dead-ball specialist, he crosses the ball just as much as he cuts inside to shoot at goal.

AM - 8 - Estebe Bularte (C) - Age 31 - Iturributa United – 57 caps, 3 goals
The team's playmaker knows how to deliver accurate throw balls and is good at shooting from long range. As captain, he provides serenity and unity to a team that is often lacking in these.

LF - 9 - Soter Sarlange - Age 23 - Ituraitz FC – 51 caps, 21 goals
Accurate, fast, and a good header. The team's top goalscorer, he posseses a poacher's instinct that puts him head and shoulders above other strikers. Despite his skill, he's often accused of narrow-mindedness and egotism.

RF - 7 - Dei Ormache - Age 27 - SK Franz Josef City – 58 caps, 13 goals
Short and rather tubby, but the best dribbler and shooter in the team. His unpredictability made him one of the top goalscorers in the Polarian league.

Substitutes:
GK - 13 - Cheru Larretape - Age 22 - Royal Rumiatzi – 6 caps
Already starting keeper for the league champions, Larretape is blessed with lightning-fast reflexes and an excelent sense of positioning, though issues with crosses and handling have him as backup to Zernin Aira.

GK - 23 - Lapurdi Abaitua - Age 27 - Ituraitz FC – Uncapped
Though first-choice goalie at his club, Abaitua doesn't have many chances to start. He looks forward to earning a cap regardless.

LB - 3 - Gorri Mendizko - Age 23 – South Factory – Uncapped
One of the many young players summoned by Treko for this Cup of Harmony, Mendizko is rugged and unapologetic.

CB - 16 - Sotil Burruchaga - Age 21 - Sporting Iturributa – Uncapped
Stalwart companion of Adin at Di Bradini Cup 17, Burruchaga has made his way to one of the most prestigious teams in the country and looks forward to his first cap.

CB - 4 - Ubelteso Adin - Age 23 - Royal Rumiatzi – 14 caps, 1 goal
A serious challenger for a spot on the starting lineup, this tall youngster has proven he has the guts to play at the top level.

RB - 17 - Benat Uranga - Age 21 - Ituraitz Victory – Uncapped
Victory's greatest asset, this young starlet can move up and down the pitch with ease, even getting on the scoresheet once in a while.

LM - 15 - Soter Larreaga - Age 23 - Urbizania Wanderers – Uncapped
Though considered an unusual choice by the media, Larreaga has been a constant highlight in Wanderers' recent campaigns.

CM - 12 - Inguma Sapano - Age 22 - Shadows – Uncapped
Though relatively unheard of in Astograth since his departure to the Šede Island Shadows, Treko has been keeping an eye on this young man for quite a while, and has apparently been convinced to replace the Erathi-based Garin Alea.

RM - 19 - Itzeder Unzueta - Age 22 - Therakham – Uncapped
Recently transfered from Athletic Club Rumiatzi to Therakham, this arrogant winger is no doubt one of the best Astograthian players of his generation. He'll have a hard time debunking the methodical Bordato, however.

AM - 10 - Bayardo Morriyas - Age 32 - Royal Association – 30 caps, 2 goals
A loyal, committed player, Morriyas didn't abandon his beloved Association despite playing in the second tier last season. He brings a more attacking presence to the team, as opposed to Estebe Bularte's playmaking role.

CF - 22 - Intza Basurto - Age 24 - Ituraitz FC – Uncapped
Brought in to make up for the loss of Dei Ormache, this tough striker has had a good enough season for a call-up.

CF - 21 - Gaur Arambilet - Age 30 - Vincanto – 16 caps, 4 goals
Arambilet is slow, but his shots are practically unstoppable. Highly effective in combination with fast players.

Captain: Estebe Bularte
Free Kick Taker: Egerdi Bordato
Penalty Taker: Dei Ormache
Right Corner: Urgutz Belarte
Left Corner: Egerdi Bordato
------------------Aira------------------

Home Stadium:
Image
Name: Stade de l'invincibilité (English: Stadium of Invincibility)
Capacity: 105,000

GK:
1-Antonio Alvarez (will be 29 years old)-The reliable goalkeeper. Quick on his feet, he is good at preventing goals even before the player shoots. Sometimes does careless mistakes. Finally won the 1st choice spot, after an amazing performance in the qualifiers.
2-Frank Roderick (will be 31 years old)-PAP's backup goalkeeper. Fast reflexes. Bad at short distance shots and 1v1.

Defense:
3-Carlos Ramos (will be 33 years old)-Fast and stealthy. A show-off, so he sometimes loses the ball quickly.
6- Micheal Rent(will be 29 years old)-A product of the Youth Program, he has proven to be an excellent defender.
8- Rick Martin (will be 28 years old)- He is very confident and fast. Many see him as the future of PAP defense and has replaced Michael Rent.
15-Rafael Herrera (will be 30 years old)-Not afraid to do anything, so it sometimes cost him a yellow or red card. One of the fastest players on the team.

Substitutes-
7- Andrew Stone (will be 27 years old)-He has graduated to the full squad, and this is his second World Cup.
4- Anthony Sanchez (17 years old)- Yes, he is the son of coach Steven Sanchez. His specialty is blocking shots with his body. He has the ability to play LB, LCB and he has played as a LWB before. His speed helps him run down the wings easily, but just like Ramos, he sometimes forgets he is a defender.

Midfield:
12- Samuel Taylor (will be 27 years old)- Fast and intelligent. His shots aren't very accurate, so he decides to pass more.
24- Hugo Mendoza (will be 26 years old)- Fast, intelligent, and excellent dribbler, powerful shots and incredible accuracy. Some say that he will be greater than Gonzalez. He is very confident, but sometimes gets carried away. Second World Cup. Shows a lot of potential.
10- Robert Figo (will be 30 years old)- An excellent dribbler and is fast. His shots are very accurate. Good leader. *PEAK*
14- Javier Zepeda (will be 30 years old)- Enthusiastic and fast.

Substitutes:
11- Christopher Mendolvski (18 years old)- You could say that he is a bit overhyped, but having a 13 assist, 2 goal season for a newcomer is great. As he grows, he could be a viable alternative to Mendoza or Figo.
16- Owen Wright-Campbell (17 years old)- Quietest, and probably the most shy person in the league. But when it comes to playing the game though, he's not afraid to show off what he has. His incredible speed along with his deadly crossing/through passing makes him a crucial player when it comes to assists.

Fowards:
9- Fransisco Gonzalez (will be 31 years old)- The fastest and most talented player on the team. Shows great potential and is the second most important player, next to Figo. He is slowing down a bit, but he is crucial to the offense.
5- Louis Zizi (will be 31 years old)- He is very good at passing and giving assists, and due to an amazing run of form, he has become one of PAP's top players. *PEAK*

Substitutes:
20- Jacob Ashley (will be 27 years old)- Second World Cup appearance. Has represented PAP in several other tournaments, gaining a lot of experience and has since replaced Ronald McGuire.
21- Alexander Tullotrilli (17 years old)- Biggest prospect in PAP today. An eye for goal, he has scored 15 goals in 41 appearances for his club team, and winning "Best Youngster of the Year" as well as coming in 5th in the "PAP Footballer of the Year" award.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: YES
Godmod scoring events: NO
Roleplay injuries to my players: Nothing Serious (Yes)
Godmod injuries to my players: NO
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes (No more than 1)
Godmod other events: NO

NATIONAL SQUAD:
(Caps in brackets indicate appearances from the bench)

Coach: Sol Kirkkegaard, 49
Sol Kirkkegaard is the finest tactical mind our nation has ever produced, and has pioneered the use of his formation, dubbed 'The Iceberg', in the national team. Has guided his teams to success without fail, and has a calm and cool exterior that does nothing to hint at what his calculative mind is thinking. He rarely flaps under pressure, and is well respected by fans, players, and press alike. He was the natural choice to lead our nation into the development of their first official international team, and carefully assessed the players through the exhibition A vs B and Road To The World Cup matches, the link to which can be found in my signature. Through this he has developed a key core of players to rely on, and should they get injured this may be challenged. Tasted success at the Burchadinger Cup, and has been buoyed by his side's performance in qualifying, which lead to a huge jump in the rankings. Has added a few new faces to the CoH squad however, in an attempt to prepare for the retirements of older players that must surely be on the horizon. Goes into the CoH managing a squad that is unbeaten in 8.

Assistant: Morten Yarbin, 64
The megaphone to Kirkkegaard's computer. The pair have worked together for coming up to twenty years, and in many cases Morten is able to start shouting a specific instruction onto the pitch with only a knowing glance from Sol. Loud, abrasive, fierce, and dogged, Morten is a master at motivating his players to do their best, walking the fine line between aggravating them and complementing them with a fine skill. Only one episode with a certain matriarchal figure from Johz during the Burchadinger Cup has tarnished this gritty image he has built up, and he will be sure to display his powerful leadership qualities from the technical area, loud and proud.

#1 - GK - Dmitri Karlsson - Age 32 - Yuzhny Equinox FC - 58 Caps
Fast off his line, tall, powerful in the air and final line of the meanest defence in the Federation League, Karlsson is a true warrior on the pitch. An excellent communicator, his other strengths lie in his shot-stopping and his decision making, though his distribution can be found lacking at times. A reliable ever-present performer for the Terns, though the shaky performances of his backups point to the fact he might need to be relied on a bit too much.

#2 - DR - Sergey Makarov - Age 26 - Skyline City (Mangolana) - 56(3) Caps, 2 Assists
Recently transferred to the Mangolanan league to 'seek some adventure', Makarov is a fast and athletic right-back. Frequently seen making direct attacking runs down the wing, he is a perfect player for the Iceberg's system. Long throws are a speciality, though his crossing isn't the best.

#3 - DC - Maarten Berg - Age 32 - SK Franz Josef City - 49(2) Caps, 1 Goal - VICE CAPTAIN
Berg is an experienced and wily opponent. Though no longer the fastest player on the pitch, his game-reading is second to none, and he always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Problems with his hamstring may accelerate his retirement.

#4 - DC - Niko Marek - Age 30 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 64 Caps, 4 Assists, 3 Goals - NATIONAL CAPTAIN
Finally captained his side to the title they deserved, and lifted the Burchadinger Cup for his country. Niko is a born leader and will sacrifice his all to aid the cause, marshalling the players on his side to a stout and firm performance. Massively influential player, has played all but 79 minutes of the Terns' competitive matches so far and was a massively important player during the wins over Jeruselem, Starblaydia and Osarius.

#5 - DL - Steffan Pekarik - Age 27 - Urajbina (Kagdazka and Pazhujebu) - 52(3) Caps, 4 Assists, 2 Goals
Equally at home on the right or the left side of defence, Steffan's sweet left boot has brought his influential wingplay to the attention of K&P side Urajbina as they push for a title. Finally scored his first goals for his country, a moment that meant so much to him.

#6 - MC - Petter Bielsen - Age 29 - Iturributa United (Astograth) - 56(4) Caps, 6 Assists, 1 Goal
Recently moved to Astograth to gain some overseas experience, former Red Star Severny warhorse Bielsen is a true box to box battling midfielder with a fierce and powerful long shot.

#7 - AMC - Ole van Jendrisen - Age 27 - Atletik Thessia (Mytannion) - 51(5) Caps, 28 Assists, 3 Goals
Attacking midfielder van Jendrisen is the key playmaker for the Terns, as his impressive assists tally indicates. Can influence players to move around the pitch seemingly at will to help carry out his plays, and can read a game better than almost anyone. Sol Kirkkegaard's man on the pitch, basically, with a sweet free kick.

#8 - MC - Teemu Hansen - Age 28 - SK Franz Josef City - 58(3) Caps, 13 Assists, 5 Goals
Hansen has featured in almost every full international for the Terns, and is one of a key core of players that Kirkkegaard has built his team around. A solid all-rounder, his neat interplay passing is the link between defence and attack and he often plays an understated but essential role in the side.

#9 - ST - Timo Skye - Age 28 - Juvillian Martinax (Erathore) - 55(3) Caps, 7 Assists, 38 Goals
The nation's leading goalscorer, there isn't much that can be said about the enigmatic Skye that hasn't already been said. A classic central striker, his unswerving accuracy and nimble off-ball movement has tormented defences around the world. His temper, ego, and opinions can often get him into trouble, but he is the first name on the team sheet every time. Since returning from injury, has been in lightning form.

#10 - ST - Patrick Ackermann-Finn - Age 26 - SK Franz Josef City - 46(7) Caps, 10 Assists, 20 Goals
Snapped up by league champions SK in a bid to cover the gap left by Skye's move to Erathore, Ackermann-Finn is a tall and wiry striker, excelling at holding up the ball for his strike partner, or heading in from tight angles.

#11 - DMC - Jorgen Hauge - Age 21 - Cross SC (Zarbli) - 0 Caps
To replace the injured Golubev, Kirkkegaard has awarded a call-up to fearsomely talented defensive midfielder Hauge, who was snapped up by Duke League team Cross SC from Scapa Bay and is looking to advance his reputation globally. Widely expected to be the U-21 team captain, a bright future awaits this lad.

#12 - GK - Atle Andreasson - Age 32 - SK Franz Josef City - 4 Caps
Reliable and experienced, SK keeper Atle is a solid backup goalkeeper and rarely if ever gets injured.

#13 - GK - Mathias Marek - Age 26 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 2(3) Caps
Younger brother of captain Niko, penalty shoot-out specialist Mathias was the hero of the Burchadinger Cup, coming on to both score and save penalties as a last minute substitution.

#14 - AMC - Luc Demarchelier - Age 24 - Parr City (Mytannion) - 27(17) Caps, 14 Assists, 2 Goals
More of a driving attacking midfielder than playmaker van Jendrisen, Demarchelier and Golubev often found themselves appearing in spite of each other dependant on the aims of the match or the attacking strength of the opposition. An exciting prospect, and with a reshuffled midfield coming into the Cup, anything could happen.

#15 - MC - Henning Tir - Age 25 - Decraa United (Mytannion) - 0 Caps
Another debutante in the side, Tir is one of a growing contingent of Polarian players in the Mytanar Takillega and will be bursting at the seams to have the chance to prove himself. A dynamic player, his energy can sometimes get him into trouble.

#16 - MC - Artur Rochemback - Age 20 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 0 Caps
Having only just made a breakthrough into the Jan Mayen first team, at all, eyebrows will have been raised at this inclusion into the squad. We can only assume that Kirkkegaard has seen something in this youngster that could be big.

#17 - ST - Gunnar Mackenzie - Age 21 - FC Cape St Paul - 0 Caps
With the disappointing news of Blonqvist's injury, Mackenzie will have grabbed this opportunity with both hands. Another player trying to earn his first cap here that will be expected to make an appearance in the U-21 side, Mackenzie was one of a hugely influential strike partnership for the Cape, who finished comfortably mid-table thanks to their effort. Has a great friendship with van Sorensen.

#18 - ST - Alexsandr van Sorensen - Age 18 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 7(22) Caps, 5 Assists, 13 Goals
Teenage prodigy Alexsandr is only 18, but played a vital role for Jan Mayen this season and in a league without Timo Skye was one of the top strikers in the league. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, but manages to not let this affect his attractive attacking play. Suffered badly with his mental health during the qualification campaign, but looks to have put the past behind him and moved onto better times, if stuck behind the partnership of Ackermann-Finn and Skye. Likes to link in from the midfield, applying his explosive acceleration and going on mazy dribbles that often end in a shot from his sweet right boot. Could change a game in an instant.

#19 - DR - Petter Nikkel - Age 28 - SK Franz Josef City - 7(13) Caps, 1 Assist
Less athletic than starter Makarov, Nikkel's pace is still undeniably suited to Sol's masterplan. Amiable and well liked, the joker of the group.

#20 - DMC - Pol Sundstrom - Age 26 - Miago City (Mytannion) - 10(12) Caps, 2 Assists
Coming in for the qualification campaign as something of a risk, Sundstrom excelled, and proved to all that the depth of talent in the nation's midfield pool is broad, and bursting with vitality.

#21 - DL - Pol de Huyer - Age 28 - Unattached, in contract talks with Cotdelapomais teams - 12(17) Caps
Like Pekarik that starts before him, is equally at home on either flank, his dynamic runs often being the start of exciting cross-field moves.

#22 - DC - Sander Ljungberg - Age 21 - SK Franz Josef City - 0 Caps
With half an eye on replacing Berg as the long time SK defensive stalwart, Kirkkegaard has caught onto this young defender and offered him the chance to repeat this on the national scale.

#23 - DC - Anton McAllister - Age 27 - Resolute Storm 1913 FC - 9(13) Caps, 1 Assist
McAllister has been unable to hammer down a starting place on a regular basis, thanks to the partnership of Berg and Marek. His time will surely come, but for now this nimble and sometimes erratic defender will have time to perfect his gameplay before the chance to play regularly comes around.

Starting formation: 'The Iceberg', a narrow 4-3-1-2

Thank you for the invitation. Errinundera is looking forward to competing in the Cup of Harmony.

Team colours:
Players in the Errinundera’s NationStates Cup of Harmony 47 national squad (aka the potoroos, the longfoots or the gorillas) are selected from teams belonging to the Errinundera Football Association.

Image

Errinundera uses the "clash" strip principle when choosing its strip. The white "Potoroo" strip is use for all games except away games where the home side has a significant portion of white in its strip. The red "Bally Hooley" alternative strip is used in its place in these instances. Should the home side have red and white in their colours then the green strip is used. The grey "Bark" strip is worn by the Potoroo goalkeeper. The uniforms are made by volunteers from the Textile Workers Union.

Mechanics:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y
RP injuries to my players Y
Godmod injuries to my players Y
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y
Hand out red cards to my players Y
Godmod other events Y

But, please, only one player to miss the next game through injury or red card.

Style modifier: Maximum attacking modifier possible, please.

To avoid corruption the Errinundera Football Association does not accept sponsorship from any private organisation.

The Team
Details in brackets show gender, EFA club, age and playing position. The two high school students from the World Cup squad (sumika and yamamo) have been omitted because the extended time away from Errinundera would interfere with their studies. Two other players have been dropped from the squad (ilshai and jeanep). The replacement players are described below.

Coach
Image
remibref (m, Bonang City, 53, coach)

A quiet but authoritive figure who is highly respected for his tactical nous and for his understanding of his players. He spent his playing career with Deddick, mainly as a midfielder but also lending support to their defence. He was an occasional senior player in Deddick's 2167 premiership year and was a valuable contributor in their 2175 win. On retiring after the 2179 season he was quickly snapped up by the 10th placed Bonang City as their coach. His record there has been outstanding: 2183 - 8th; 2187 - 5th; 2191 - 2nd; 2195 - Premiers; 2199 - third. remibref was universally lauded for his handling of the young and inexperienced team in the World Cup 55 qualifiers. He is keen to take the team on the next step of their journey.

remibref is easily recognised by his limp and distinctive walking cane. He incurred the injury when he fell out of a friend's housetree, a commonplace event in Errinundera.

Captain
Image
mireyu (f, Ootopia, 19, striker)

Nick-named "The Assassin" (she's a deadly shot), mireyu was a shock selection as captain of the national side at only 19 years of age. Clearly the selectors are building this team for future World Cup campaigns. The ice cool mireyu showed leadership potential in her junior years and quickly established her credentials when signed up by Ootopia. In her first full season with the club, she thrilled observers with her blinding speed, powerful and accurate kicking, and her ability to read the play. Although her form fell away somewhat towards the end of qualifying for WC55, mireyu won the leighm medal for best player of the series.

mireyu's background is somewhat unusual. She grew up on the distant Cuttlefish Island and was orphaned at nine years of age when her family was murdered in a crime syndicate vendetta. Brought to Errinundera by her uncle, mireyu impressed local talent scouts who promptly recommended her for the Ootopia Football Club youth training program. She is currently studying Forensic Research Methods at the Dreamtime Institute in Rooty Break.

Vice-Captain
Image
setoro (m, Bally Hooley, 29, midfielder)

Captain of reigning EFA champions, Bally Hooley, and, apart from his obvious skills, has been chosen to help develop mireyu's leadership abilities. He has a well deserved reputation as a no-nonsense, thinking utility player who excels as the engine room for his domestic club. When he retires from football, setoro has a career in robotic programming ahead of him. Like many others in the team, setoro steadily improved over the course of the WC55 qualifiers as his experience and confidence grew.

Deputy Vice-Captain
Image
shinobu (f, Milosis, 31, defender)

Respected captain of her club, shinobu is an outstanding strategist and is also notable for her off-field leadership abilities. On the field, she is the creative source for many of her teams forward thrusts. She is one of four members of the potoroos who have qualifications in the field of robotics. Steady throughout the WC55 campaign.

Attack

Image
Left to right: bundhai, kannami, kanoota, klansee, vikroleni.

bundhai (f, Delegate, 16) - Former homeless kid from the slums of Delegate who amazed a local talent scout passing by a game of asphalt football. bundhai excelled in Delegate's junior development program and joins two other sixteen year olds in the national squad, no doubt as part of its long term development. Like her captain, bundhai is a fast mover and a powerful and accurate kick. She is also reputedly a sound / colour synaesthete. Exceeded, by far, people's expectations for her in WC55, kicking 6 goals. Fans are predicting a big future.

kannami (m, Deddick, 18) - One of three teenage strikers in the squad (including the captain), kannami is noted for his aerial abilities, having scored more headers in the 2199 EFA season than any other player. Had one outstanding match in WC55 where he kicked 2 goals, but otherwise disappointed.

kanoota (f, McKillops Bridge, 25) - Noted for her prodigious athletic skills and her extreme level of fitness, kanoota pretty well single-handedly led the McKillops Bridge attack in 2199 following major injuries to team mates. Excelling under trying circumstances and topping the goal kicking table in the EFA led to her selection in the national squad. Failed to bother the scoring officials in her few appearances in World Cup 55 qualifying.

klansee (f, Kanooka Creek, 28) - Single minded and ruthless player who famously said of football, "It's not sightseeing, it's combat". Her 32 goals in the 2199 domestic season were a major factor in Second Division club Kanooka Creek's earning a promotion to the Premier League for next season. As the senior striker in the team much responsibility will rest upon her shoulders although it remains to be seen if she can handle the higher standard of competition. Clearly, the selectors believe she can. After a slow start to WC55 klansee shone in the latter matches.

vikroleni (f, Malinns, 25) - Known as "the Sniper" for her long distance pinpoint passes, vikroleni is another of the ice cool female strikers in the side. She is the skillful captain of a team of triers in Malinns and is expected to blossom now that she has the opportunity to play alongside more talented footballers. Disappointing in World Cup 55 qualifying.

Midfield

Image
Left to right: anasant, arrosei, chiyoko, nikuri, ricardoo, vanessu.

anasant (m, Bonang Hillside, 27) - Otherwise crafty and skillful midfielder who occasionally lets his emotions govern his judgment. Nevertheless, his good work over several seasons with Hillside have earned him a spot in the national squad. When not playing football, anasant is the proprietor of a karaoke bar in Bonang and is the honorary secretary of the Refugee Action Collective (Bonang Chapter) who help newly arrived refugees settle into Errinundera. A constructive and valued player in WC55 qualifying.

arrosei (m, First Creek Falls, 30) - Clinical tactition and stylish player who has developed a good understanding with vanessu at First Creek Falls. Didn't impress in WC55 qualifying.

chiyoko (f, Bally Hooley, 18 - Sprightly midfielder / defender who, despite her young age, was an important part of her domestic team's success last season. New to the national team, she is a confectionery store attendant and movie actress. (The picture is Chiyoko Fujiwara from Millenium Actress.)

nikuri (f, Mount Ellery, 19) - Watchers of old World Cup footage of the one-time Errinundrian captain keok always comment how much they are reminded of the the young nikuri. A nuggety and chirpy player, she is always to be found in the centre of traffic on the ground. She is currently studying gyrocopter engineering at the Underground University in Mount Ellery, which is odd given there are no aircraft in Errinundera. Performed satisfactorily with limited opportunities in WC55.

ricardoo (m, Cabanandra, 33) - Something of a surprise selection given that Cabanandra are not a football power in the EFA. A steady and reliable player who will add much needed experience to the youthful lineup. ricardoo is a sniffer wombat handler when is isn't playing football. A major disappointment in WC55 qualifying. He needs to improve if the Potoroos are to impress in the Cup of Harmony.

vanessu (f, First Creek Falls, 25) - One of the up and coming stars in the First Creek Falls side that has local pundits expecting big things. She and arrosei have developed am uncanny onfield understanding. The major revelation of World Cup 55 qualifying. Some rated her better, even, than mireyu.

Defence

Image
Left to right: fusek, jovilhane, josep, najikeve, pietrif.

fusek (m, Milosis, 28) - The defender that just about everyone, except the selection committee it seems, thinks should have been in the WC55 qualifying squad. Accomplished in all aspects of the game, he led a defence at Milosis that was second only to the Premiers, Bally Hooley. fusek is a full-time footballer but would rather be a special operations soldier, if only Errinundera had an army. (Picture is Kazuki Fuse from Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade.)

jovilhane (m, Bonang City, 29) - Another defender that many thought should have been in the original squad. Manages to combine outstanding defensive abilities with elusiveness and attacking qualities. His employment outside football is not known. (Picture is Johan Liebert, the character referred to in the title of the series, Monster. Johan + evil = jovilhane.)

josep (m, Bola Mine, 27) - The only one of the three Bola Mines defenders to survive in the squad. And rightly so, according to pundits. Skilful and intuitive but prone to the occasional error. His is a sniffer wombat handler and a volunteer with the Bola Mine Child Welfare Co-operative. Performed capably all WC55 qualifying without starring.

najikeve (f, Bally Hooley, 24) - Voted by her peers as the most valuable player in the EFA in 2199, najikeve's selection comes without the brouhaha that accompanied her counterparts from Bola Mine. Where setoro is the engine room for the Bally Hooley midfield, najikeve is the heart and soul of the most miserly defence in the association. In her spare time she runs a cafe famous for its coffee blends. In WC55 qualifying she was, at worst, consistently good and, at best, brilliant. In other words, one of the stars.

pietrif (m, Puggaree, 31) - Quiet achiever who had a brilliant season in 2191 when Puggaree finished 4th - easily their best ever year. Sadly, injury has meant he has only been able to play intermittently since then. Being free of injury in the latter part of the 2199 season allowed him to play a major part in Puggaree avoiding relogation as well as giving all of us the chance to see what we have missed since 2191. Works as a magisterial investigator, ie does the leg work when a magistrate conducts an investigation. Regular selection in WC55 qualifying without being particularly memorable.

Goalkeeping

Image
Left to right: ferrira, haintsu mihairokon.

ferrira (f, First Creek Falls, 26) - Thought by many to be the best keeper in the country, the unavailability of up and coming school girl star, sumika, has given the selectors the opportunity to redress one of their perceived errors in the WC55 squad. Outside of football, ferrira is a gondolier in the First Creek Falls Upfalls water quarter. (Picture is Akira Ferrari from the Aria franchise.)

haintsu (m, Amboyne Crossing, 35) - A no-nonsense and clearsighted keeper whom many say is better than the team he has faithfully served over many years. Outside of football he is a member of the Amboyne Crossing Re-cycling Collective. Perhaps he doesn't like to see valuable things slip by? The most reliable keeper in WC55 qualifying.

mihairokon (m, Rodger River, 31) - What is with Errinundrian keepers and recycling rubbish? Yes, he is a member of the Rodger River Alternative Uses Union. And a pretty handy keeper to boot. Also like haintsu, mihairokon is considered to a cut above his team mates at Rodger River. Disappointed in WC55 with is cavalier attitude but has been given another opportunity.

The world is not cyclical, not eternal or immutable, but endlessly transforms itself, and never goes back, and we can assist in that transformation.

Live on, survive, for the earth gives forth wonders. It may swallow your heart, but the wonders keep on coming. You stand before them bareheaded, shriven. What is expected of you is attention.

Call me Ish.

In.

One of those.

---

The President of Stout Lout Ale (TM) Presents the Rumbipura Fottball Association (Sponsored by Stout Lout Karmic Brewing Corp.TM All Rights Reserved), pondered the invitation. On the one hand, more gameplay meant matches meant more profit. On the other hand, the Rumbi Lama, 12-year old god-king of Rumbipura, had banned football in a snit after finishing bottom-of-group.

This posed some problems.

Particularly for home matches.

But then, there was no real home field in any case. The so-called "National Stadium" was just a clearing in the jungle. So it hardly mattered if the country's ruling monks were not going to allow it to be used.

Well, no matter. They'd find a way. On the up side, it meant they could remove the Wu-li Lama and all other players selected on religious merit rather than ability to play football.

Starting roster for the Rumbipura Cassowaries

Style modifier: -2

Manager: Mau Slurp III

GK - The Second Firendli Lama
Age 24. Silvana, for short, is a reincarnation of the late Canabe Livit, who achieved enlightenment while on a footballing exchange in Errinundera)
Defence - Maubere Gibb
Age 26. A noted cantor with the Third Buddhist Church of Smiting Tithing, his album "Beach Songs for Buddha" went platinum on the Rumbipura charts last year.
Defence - Francisco Alkatiri
Age 22. Francisco is the only member of the Cassowaries not from the city of Rumbipura. He hails from the backjungle settlement of Compassionville.
Defence - Markus Dibawah
Age 19. Like about half the population of Rumbipura, he is named Markus after the First Rumbi Lama.
Defence - Dorcas Bibere-Tarantula
Age 3. Dorcas is a member of the small Giant Evil Spider community of Rumbipura. Between matches, she lives at the Rumbipura Giant Evil Spider Sanctuary, or as locals call it, the Zoo.
Midfield - Markus Maubere
Age 21. Markus is a former member of a revolutionary cult mainly concerned with trying to overthrow other countries' governments by going to remote areas and attempting to "raise the revolutionary consciousness" of the locals. Generally this means trying to convince them to take more siestas during office hours.
Midfield - Spike Silva
Age 33. Spike won her starting position by starring in Stout Lout TV's reality show So You Want to Be a Transgender Mountaineer. She outlasted, outcompeted and outdrank the other competitors and rode that fame to a spot on the national football team. Along with Dorcas Tarantula, she is the only member of the team who eats meat.
Midfield - Silas Simparieff
Age 27. He captains the Cassowaries on the strength of having played football overseas. No oen can remember where.
Midfield - Alexia Antonia El Qazar
Age 26. She has recently "come out" as Muslim and will be playing remaining games wearing a burkini and veil. She insists that this is not going to interfere in any way with her peripheral vision.
Striker - Zak Rumbiak
Age 16. Zah won the Stout Lout "Replace a Lama" competition by dribbling between six pylons in ten seconds, then scoring a goal, then consuming three pints in the next minute.
Striker - Markus Eluay
Age 24. Markus is the top scorer for the Cassowaries, not that they scored much in qualifiers.

Manager: Ben Randall
Randall has been FSSO or ‘Fuzz’ (FSSO is short for my nations full name) national manager for three years. He has a good reputation having developed the national youth system and bringing better results in general, although he has received criticism for indecision at times. He is currently on a high however following recent victory in the Market Cup.

Assistant Manager: Dimitri Campbell
Assistant manager for one year, following in the footsteps of his father Brian Campbell. Similar but less attacking style to Randall.

Player guide – Shirt number. Name – Position – Age – Club – Caps - Goals

Goalkeepers

1. Daniel Belgrave – GK – 24 – Directus – 73 – 0

This young player came up through the Directus FC youth system and has been their first choice goalkeeper for two years now. He has been first choice for the national team for a similar amount of time, and his height and bravery have made him an effective goalkeeper. Strong at defending set pieces and corners and good at saving penalties, but is not as good at dealing with shots from a tight angle.

27. Jerry Watchman – GK – 32 – Bastion – 115 – 1

Before the arrival of Belgrave on the scene, Watchman was first choice. He famously headed in a goal in stoppage time to give the FSSO a 1-0 win in a tournament of local national teams. He ran up for a corner as the clock ran down and threw himself into a diving header, turning him into a national hero overnight. Belgrave’s natural mentor.

41. Craig Castleton – GK – 28 – Pashter United – 23 – 0

Third choice goalkeeper who recently returned from a lengthy injury. Good at dealing with close range efforts due to good reactions, but weak at set pieces.

Defenders

2. Dennis Arnold – RB/RWB – 24 – Directus – 97 – 1

This promising attacking right back was discovered by manager Ben Randall when he was managing powerhouse club Directus, and he called the lad up as soon as he became manager of the national team. Arnold has had a good start to his international career, despite initially being a flop. Lacks in strength, but fast and good at dribbling.

4. Grant Davis – CB – 31 – Ulsa – 141 – 8

6 ft 3 Grant Davis has long been a staple of the FSSO back line, providing stability and control in defence. He has a great record with his head, scoring 6 for his country with the cranium from set plays and such. His seventh goal came from a wonderful volley in a friendly last year. Strong and generally a great player.

5. Mike Humphrey – RCB – 27 – Bastion – 106 – 1

Less physically imposing than Davis, but much more skilled on the ball and slightly fitter. However his goal scoring ability is pathetic, even for a defender.

3. Joe Arnie Pizza – LB/LM – 25 – Bastion – 105 – 4
Vice captain

(If anyone gets the reference to a real life player in the name, they get a cookie.) An intense attacking left back who can also play a left midfield role, Pizza is not as consistent or good at tackling as the above three defenders but he is much better at short and long balls and has a deadly left foot which regularly thumps in screaming shots for his club.

Other defenders:

22. Ben Kean – LCB – 29 – Farrelton Athletic – 61 – 0
13. Julesk Paranaya – CB/CDM – 26 – Usmer – 53 – 1
19. Matt Boyce – RCB/RB – 33 – Internazcionale (Erathore) – 32 – 0

Midfielders

6. Steven Thompson – CDM – 31 – Ulsa – 148 – 16
Captain

Thompson has been playing for his country since he was 17 and never looked back. One of FSSO footballs most successful players, his holding play in midfield is useful in defence and build up play.

8. Carlos Aduna – CAM – 27 – Bastion – 132 – 21
Direct free kick taker – Driven

Like Pizza, Aduna is renowned for his power shots – except Aduna uses his right foot. A powerful presence in midfield that plays good through balls and is excellent at shooting from range, although his ability to head the ball is not great. He is the playmaker.

7. James McRoft – RAM/RW – 23 – Directus - 90 – 16
Direct free kick taker – Curled
Right corner taker

A young winger, McRoft is fast, a brilliant dribbler and superb finisher. His defensive capabilities when going back are questionable but when he dribbles past two players and curls the ball into the top corner from 25 yards, the manager doesn’t complain. Certainly a wonder kid, and currently the joint most valuable player in the FSSO at a price tag of £32 million quaglifumps. The other player is star striker Lee Sharp.

11. Josh Stevenson – LDM/LM – 20 – Farrelton Athletic – 54 – 5
Left corner taker

Josh Stevenson is a very promising young player who plays a more defensive game than his right wing counterpart, but is equally skilled on the ball and also provides brilliant corners and crosses, like McRoft.

25. Kieran Kane – RW – 20 – New Harkdown – 6 – 2

A bright youngster who’s call up to the national squad was delayed by an injury. Supremely fast and brilliant on the ball, Kane is a fantastic winger in the making.

Other Midfielders

12. Persa Ryans – CM – 26 – Bastion – 67 – 4
15. John Pallister – CM/RM – 31 - Sparta FC – 54 - 0
18. Carl Coffa – CB/CDM – 29 – Hornchurch – 52 – 0
24. Dennis Truch – LM – 24 – Revolutionaries – 29 – 0

Forwards

9. Sam Needle – ST – 23 – Bastion – 68 – 33
Penalty taker

Since he started playing internationals Sam Needle has shown himself to be a prolific scorer and great finisher. Although his ability to play the ball to others is his weakness, he can produce brilliant finishes especially from short range, and he is quite fast.

10. Lee Sharp – RS – 26 – Directus – 96 – 57
Star player

Sharp is short and not particularly strong, and rarely scores headers – but he is a lethal from all ranges, fast, determined and offers brilliant passing skills and through balls. His speciality is edge of the box finishes, from which he scores a lot of his goals for club and country.

14. Scott Daley – CF – 28 – Farrelton Athletic – 108 – 31

Daley is no longer the forward of choice for his country but he still poses a threat, although as a centre forward he plays more of a supporting role than the leading pair, who are referred to as “Sharp Needles.” However he is very capable with his head, being 6ft 2, and possesses a quite accurate left foot.

17. Simon Xavier – ST – 20 – Pashter United – 6 – 3

A young star in the making, Xavier is a superb finisher and is skilled on the ball. He has an impressive record at Under 21 level, with 23 goals in 24 games.

Other strikers

16. Graham Hill – RS – 37 - Hornchurch – 150 – 53
20. Ben Quinn – LS – 24 – Ulsa – 39 – 6

Preferred team sheet (Players not included will act as reserves)

Starting 11

1 - Daniel Belgrave
2 – Dennis Arnold
5 – Mike Humphrey
4 – Grant Davis
3 – Joe Arnie Pizza
7 – James Mcroft
6 – Steven Thompson ©
8 – Carlos Aduna
11 – Josh Stevenson

Postby Cabric » Fri May 20, 2011 10:43 pm

(continuing a storyline from the BoF)
AMEGIA, CABRIC: (Just getting you caught up if you've forgotten...)

Captain of the Emperor's guard Tiffany James and Agent Steele; who is Emily Cabric's, the barely younger twin sister of the Emperor, chief of security, are looking for whomever stole a technology that could potentially solve all of Cabic' engery problems. But the technology could be used against the Baeans, a race of sentient crystalline entities, sparking a civil war within Cabic between the Baean and human populations. Unbeknownst to Captain James, Agent Steele is working with Emily Cabric to fully devolop the technology as a weapon, to ensure more parity between the humans and Baeans, and to undermine her brother's, Dacius Cabric I, reign so she can become empress.

The technology was created by Professor Mark Kamman, who was killed by an unknown party, though Emily Cabric was the last to see him alive, though no one knows that but her. Ther professor had just finished his pitch to the Emperor about the techonology, which uses the specific resonance frequency of the Baeans that upon 'dying'; dying for a Baean involves their resonance frequency being disrupted enough to not be able to regain it from ofther Baeans. Though 'dead' in only a Baean sense, a 'dead' Baean still vibrates at a high enough frequency that if compressed into a fuel cell, one Baean has the energy equivalent of a coal plant's yearly energy output. If enough Baeans. around 100,000 .were compressed into fuel cells, they could theoretically power Cabric for almost 10,000 years. But Emperor Cabric squashed the idea and told Kamman to destroy all his notes and anything relating to the technology. But Emily Cabric overheard and took the professor's notes and along with Agent Steele, is attempting to prefect the techonology.

Dacius' and Emily's emnity stems from when the human population migrated en masse from Qazox during the Scourge virus outbreak of almost 20 years ago. The Baeans, after intense negotiations, finally agreed to allow the humans to live in Baea. Part of the treaty between the two races was the first human child born in Baea would become Emperor or Empress upon reaching their 18th birthday, and the nation would be named after that child. Sandra Cabric, Dacius and Emily's mother; was confirmed pregnant just days after the ex-Qazoxians landed and the captial, AMEGIA was co-indicentially founded the same day. It was found out about a month later that she was to have twins, one boy and one girl. On January 7, 1993 OS (Cabric' offical calander dates from Dacius and Emily's birth date and would be 0.0.0 NS), Sandra game birth, with Dacius being born @ 12:46 am, and Emily being born @ 12:49am. As such, Dacius, and eventually any of his decendents, would become Emperor on his and Emily's 18th birthday. Emily has been a bit peaked at not being on the throne due to being born just 3 minutes after Dacius and has just recently begun to actively prevent her brother from continuinng as Emperor, by any means necessary. She had a Olympic Athlete and her fiancee moved to Qazox, to prevent Dacius from marrying her, as Cabrican law prevents Cabricans from marrying non-Cabricans, and any Cabrican citizen who become a citizen of another country forfeits their Cabrican citizenship.

Got all that? I hope so. I'm not gonna repeat it, and there will be a test later. Maybe.
Please attempt NOT to spell my name: CARBIC, CARBON, CRABIC or CARBRICK; and I will attempt to spell your name correctly. Wikipage

Goalkeepers
No. Name Age Notes
1 Howard Clarke 21 Has a very tactical brain, he will be keeping the defenders in the right place throughout the match.
12 Paddy Gallder 24 Will be ready to play the minute Clarke makes a mistake, both of them are really good.

Defence
2 David Adams 26 He and his conjoint twin will be playing on the team. They control a leg and an arm each but still muddle through.
3 Jack Thompson 22 The most dedicated player in the squad, he stays behind for hours after training.
4 Lucy Blanc 25 Pretty good at defending and can look quite intimidating on the pitch despite being only 4ft 9in tall.
5 Peggy Harvison 31 She showed that she can at least defend at a mediocre level.
13 James Polle 17 Would be fighting for the starting line-up, but isn't too well at the minute.
14 Candy Blue 19 Getting better by the day, but still can't quite break into the squad.
15 Brandon Parson 35 The eldest defender and not in the starting line-up.

Midfield
6 Johnathan Maine 32 Only male starter in midfield, and not very good at that. But we had to avoid looking sexist either way.
7 Jenny Carlos 28 She was good in the qualifying campaign, but she petered out towards they end. Let hope she can do better.
8 Jenifer Sand 29 One of the best midfielder players out there. She can pull a game together.
18 Terry Hanson 21 Probably deserves a first team place, but Kazzoria don't like changing their starting line-up.
19 Juidith Maison 26 It is still unanswered wither she is related to Andrew Maisons, but it probably doesn't matter.
20 Perry Turper 15 Too young for football, won't even be smelling the grass this cup.

Strikers
9 Fred Smith 19 Having proved himself a powerful force he could be leading the team forward.
10 Edgar Nonno 22 Having had to be changed to fit in with Mytannion football leagues regulations s/he has been renamed.
11 Ian Wane 25 Proved to everyone, including himself, at the qualifying that he was worth of the starting line up.
21 Lucas Richards 20 Still recovering from his injuries, but he still looks like he could be promising for this cup.
22 Alexia Dwight 29 He has no chance of making the starting line up, if he does I will eat an item of clothing,

------------------------Howard Clarke-------------------------
David Adams-----Jack Thompson---Lucy Blanc------Peggy Harvison
--------Johnathan Maine-Jenny Carlos----Jenifer Sand----------
--------Fred Smith------Ellen Nonno-----Ian Wane--------------

With a disappointing world cup campaign Jamie Sirea will have to hope for something good here, or his job might just be heading six foot underground. Hopefully his squad will pick themselves up as well. The squad has now been cut down to 23.

Manager: Jamie Sirea
Assistant manager: Thomas Blake

Kaz Blogs
New kits

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is this another attempt to make money by Kazzoria? Yes to all of them (except the first and second thing)! Once again Kazzorian kits are coming out. These kits will be used this cup up until the next world cup proper where new kits will be developed.

These kits are possibly some of the best the team has ever had and this is mainly because they are the first. In previous times kits consisted of any colour shirts and jeans or shorts. They are going to be availible to buy from shops and order online in 24 hours, I've already got mine and have the apporpriate amount of beer to watch the games. Lets just hope these kits are lucky.

Now to leacture you on Kazzorian kit history, it's really dull. Our first kit were all green shirts and shorts, but then they were gotten rid off so they could sell them. The second kit happened to be white, but then the laundry lady had a pay cut and they were shoved in with red socks and turned out in hippie shades of pink. For that little stunt Doris the washing lady was executed. The next kit was a little bit more exciting with a half green and half white kit. The shorts were green as well. These were replaced next cup by a very garish kit. It was green and red stripes in bunches of two with a white background. Over the top of this was yellow polka dots. The designer of those disappeared for the design. After that kit design stopped and we reverted to jeans and any colour t-shirt. Some footballers even got sponsered and had logos on their shirt.

After a while it was discovered that this had flattened team spirit and last cup the all green kits were dug up. After that it was descided that Kazzoria needed a new kit that was also fashionable. So top kit designers RIcon took on the task of creating four new kits. These were the people behind the Khytennan and the Whittorian kits and their design was good enough for the designer to live another day.

So much for riding off into the sunset.

Instead of retiring with a World Cup in hand, Franz Braddock decided he had unfinished business to accomplish after the Sarzonian national football team failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since World Cup 45. It also marked the first time a Franz Braddock-managed team failed to qualify for the World Cup in any of 15 World Cups he's managed for Cafundéu or Sarzonia.

To hear his take on the other teams in Group A, you'd think the Stars were placed in the Group of Death.

"We have Novikov to start out with," he said. "We'll face them for the fourth time this cycle. Then we have Civil Citizenry and Virabia. Both those teams have potential.

"No one said this job was easy."

And no one better make the mistake of saying this tournament will be easy. Sarzonia certainly didn't expect to be playing in the tournament as the host nation. They expected to have Dave Wilson serve as the de facto co-chairman while his son Brian, the chairman of the Incorporated Football Federation, tended to matters with the Stars in Catherina.

However, Dave Wilson will take on a more ceremonial role now that Brian is actively involved with the hosting duties.

"Oh well. At least I get out of Shady Pines once in a while," Dave Wilson said with a deadpan. "We had a plan in place that would allow us to operate with the national team in Delaclava or Aguazul and a separate structure for the Cup of Harmony, but now our full attention will be devoted to the Cup of Harmony."

Dave Wilson begged off stating any goals for the tournament, saying "it's not my role." However, Brian Wilson said he hoped the tournament would turn out to be the best of its kind.

"We're going to show the world that Cyanea is a worthy centre of the football multiverse," Brian Wilson said. "Delaclava as a co-host of the World Cup and Sarzonia as a co-host of the Cup of Harmony will show the world that not just Atlantian Oceania as a whole, but Cyanea in particular, is where world class football deserves to be played."

Brian's younger brother Kevin Wilson, an assistant manager with the national team, went even further.

"We want to host a World Cup sooner, rather than later," he said. Our experience with hosting the World Bowl will help show that we can put together a preeminent tournament, and with the size of the World Bowl, we've proven that we can host a tournament of a gigantic scale without administrative support. So we'll be able to handle what a larger tournament can throw at us."

Dave Wilson did offer one comment about the fact that Saugeais will co-host the Cup of Harmony with Sarzonia.

"After we're finished hosting a large gridball tournament by ourselves, co-hosting a much smaller tournament is going to seem like a piece of cake," he said. "Bring it on!"

Apologies for the dumb question, but where are we playing? If Sarzonia is scorinating group E then I imagine my team is visiting Saugeais. Which cities? Grounds?
The world is not cyclical, not eternal or immutable, but endlessly transforms itself, and never goes back, and we can assist in that transformation.

Live on, survive, for the earth gives forth wonders. It may swallow your heart, but the wonders keep on coming. You stand before them bareheaded, shriven. What is expected of you is attention.

Group G: Cup of Harmony 47
A quick preview

Pasarga #35| | Erathore #46 | | Polar Islandstates #71 | | FSSO #86

aaaaaThis is going to be a good group. With every team within 55 places of each other the games are going to be fast and furious. Pasarga and Erathore are the favorites in this group by a slim margin. In the 46th Cup of Harmony, Pasarga made it the the Round of 16 before being eliminated. Erathore would go on to take 4th place in the entire tournament after losing in the semifinals on penalty kicks. Erathore have shown to be quite the World Cup contenders. In their first go, they advanced to the interzonals, where they narrowly missed a fairytale qualification as they took third in their group. In their second go, which was the 55th World Cup which is still an ongoing event, took 3rd in their group and tied for second. They didn't advance on goal differential and look to avenge that in this Cup of Harmony.
aaaaaNo roster changes from the World Cup and no need to really. Bennedetto has done a wonderful job in goal and the defense has been superb in protecting him. It'll be fun seeing how Barino Dino does considering he just won the award for Best Defender in Seria-A for the second year in a row and the third year in a row he has been in the top 5. Alexio Del Nieran will be looking to increasing his international cap count, which is currently at 85, and to add more goals to his named, he currently has found net 60 times internationally. Cesc Celestino will be aiming to add to his reputation as a wonderful player as he rolls into this tournament with 15 goals in 20 games.

Predictions: Erathore and Pasarga battle for first and both qualify. Polar Islandstates threatens both but will narrowly avoid qualification. FSSO will fight PIS for third but won't mount a threat to Erathore or Pasargaa.
Talking Points: Erathore and Pasargaa-The two teams advanced to the knockout rounds of the 46th CoH.
Players to Watch: Alexio Del Nieran [ERA], Cesc Celestino [ERA], Barino Dino [ERA], Timo Skye [PIS], Lee Sharp [FSO]

Sarzonian Stadia and Cities

Group E, Portland, Somerset, Sarzonia
Group E's matches will be played at The Iron Bowl in Portland, Somerset. The stadium is named to honour the city's -- and the country's -- dominant employer, the Portland Iron Works. The company almost singlehandedly turned Portland from a simple port town to the epicentre of the nation's economic strength. The popularity of warships built by the Portland Iron Works eventually led to ships of all maritime persuasions being built by the company. It turned into a major arms manufacturing conglomerate, only to lead the nation into its harshest economic recession, called the Panic of 2006.

The Iron Bowl has a capacity of 46,220 and is known for being a simply constructed stadium in the heart of the city's manufacturing district. Portland is the country's financial capital, and the Portland Stock Exchange is where fortunes are won or lost as shares trade hands.

Group F, Woodstock
Group F's matches will be held in the nation's capital, which is in the heart of the country, in a valley of the Lorber Mountains. This leads to moderately warm temperatures during summertime, and thus, you may need a jacket when going out into the modest Woodstock nightlife. The group stage venue will be Hendrix Stadium, a 58,250-seat open air stadium with an overhang that can keep noise in well. With the World Bowl being played in Sarzonia, the stadium recently underwent a major renovation programme including a fresh paint job.

Major attractions in Woodstock include the Gray House (the president's residence), The Manor (the lieutenant president's official residence), Parliament Hall, the John Paul Stevens Building (for the Supreme Judicial Court), the David Crosby Convention Center, the Military History Museum and the Max Yasgur Centre for the Performing Arts. Note that Sarzonian and Delaclav citizens pay $2.00 for admission. Close allies such as Pacitalia, Praetonia and Isselmere-Nieland pay $3.00, while citizens of other countries pay $5.00 for admission.

Group G, Portsmouth
Portsmouth is also a maritime city. In fact, the only city without a link to the seas that is hosting matches at the group stage is Woodstock. It is home to the Portsmouth Munitions Corporation, which builds authentic replicas of ships and weaponry from bygone eras. Its stadium (War Memorial Stadium, capacity 43,920) is an homage to veterans of wars who did not return.

Group H, Nicksia
Nicksia is often called Sarzonia's cultural capital. Until the emergence of the Portland Iron Works, it was the financial capital. It is Sarzonia's largest city. It is also home to the country's music and movie industries. In addition, it is the home of the Naval History Museum. The first ship in the world renowned Incorporated Sarzonian Navy, the ISS Constitution[/b] is a museum ship here, along with the only commissioned warship in Sarzonia not to use the ISS moniker: The USS [i]Constitution.

Matches here will be played at Mike Sarzo Stadium, capacity 77,910. A statue of the nation's founding father in full dress naval uniform stands guard in front of the main entrance to the stadium. Many World Cup qualifying matches have been played on these grounds.

Each group winner in Sarzonia will "host" a match in the stadium during the Round of 16. Mike Sarzo Stadium and Dave Wilson Stadium will be quarterfinal venues, while the Iron Bowl will host the Sarzonian Regional Final.

The Cup of Harmony Final will be hosted at Dave Wilson Stadium in Woodstock. The stadium is Sarzonia's de facto national stadium, seating 105,900. It is the centrepiece of the Dave Wilson Athletic Complex, modeled on the much larger Delaclava National Athletic Complex in Catherina.
