The age of consent is 16, while intercourse in cases where both partners are under the age is legal, while if partners are immediately on opposing side of the age it is legal provided they have no more than 3 years age difference. The age is bumped to 18 in cases of positions of trust. The following pairings are all legal:
- 16 with 16+
- x<16 with y<16
- 16 with 13+
- 17 with 14+
- 18 with 15+
- 19+ with 16+
- All of the above are regardless of sexual orientation/sex or mode of activity
Statutory rape is defined as violating these statutes in cases where there is no forcible rape. If there is forcible rape the charge automatically becomes rape and not statutory rape. One reason for this strict distinction of the charges is because flat-out rape has no statute of limitations, while stat rape has a partial statute of limitations for charges. The SoL states that 5 years after the act in question was committed, provided that the recipient or "victim" has reached age 16 or more by that time, then only the victim themselves can have the person charged.
