While I strive to keep everything current, it should be noted that some pages may be out of date and are not equipped with current information. If you have any questions about this or have a suggestion on how I can improve the factbook, please feel free to TG myself and I will do my best to fill you in, depending on the situation.

Also note, that while I am descent with paint I am nowhere near a Bob Ross. I will hand create as much as my ability allows me to. However, when faced with something beyond my scope, I will use stock photos publicly available on the internet or programs such as pimpmygun to get the job done.

History:

Long ago, in a century long since forgotten, there was a vast and grand nation that global influence and reach across the known lands. This empire prided itself in the advancement of various fields such as mathematics, cultural advancement, the arts, and personal freedoms. For centuries, this nation had an extremely prosperous history through politics and military action. It expanded it's borders and brought other numerous cultures and people into it's empire, and instilled upon them their various views and beliefs.

Early on however, it was soon discovered that not all people were willing to fall in line and allow themselves to be integrated into the great empire and that a way to properly dispose of these nuisances quickly and quietly was needed. On the eastern fringe of the empire, far away from daily shipping and travel lanes, a desolate island frequently ravaged by volcanic activity and little in the way of easily obtainable resources was discovered. This landmass would become known as Lustaria, and became home to the empires criminals, outcasts, rebels, and anyone else it deemed unworthy as the island itself became a massive living prison.

So isolated in fact were Lustaria inhabitants, that during the Age Of Strife when the empire collapsed and was ravaged by civil war and barbarian raids, that the only change noticed by it's inhabitants was the sudden stop of shipments of new prisoners. When outside contact was finally re-established years later, and word of the fractured empire fell found there way to them, a massive uprising against the limited garrison took place and the prisoners for the first time in years regained their freedom.

During the following decades, volcanic activity decreased on the landmass and soon plant life flourished in the rich black volcanic soil. The citizens established trade with the outside world and soon the groundwork for a fledgling government was established that would later become The Armed Republic Of Paddy O Fernature.

Today, The POF is a thriving economic nation that prides itself on peaceful scientific endeavors and cultural advancement and freedoms. It's cities and architecture are both technologically advanced and engineering marvels to lay eyes upon, while throwing aesthetics back to an age long since past. Tall spires intertwine with polished stone and marble statues, while clean energy vehicles powered by hydrogen move in the spires shadows below. Lavish public parks and recreation dot the landscape, and hero's from past and present are honored in several national memorials easily accessible by the general populace.

Religion:

The POF allows you to practice whatever religion you want, just don't expect the government to pay for any of it. Religion is completely non-government funded, with all churches privately funded.

Culture:

The POF mindset is centered around giving something back to ones community. Citizenship is not considered a right, but a privilege and must be earned through blood and sweat. One must successfully complete his/her five years of mandatory military service to be given the status of citizen. Without it, one cannot vote, own land, run for any public position or hold any federal job. This also serves to install values and morals into a majority of the population.

As an Armed Republic, private ownership of firearms is legal with the only restriction being private ownership of military grade weapons/systems. Recreational shooting is a major sport in the POF with national matches being broadcast country wide.

With its criminal history still in the minds of its citizens, the Law and Order public services are well funded almost to the point where a cop is on every street corner.

Views on immigration and outsiders:

After being oppressed for so long, and with the instability that rages across the known world. Citizens and Big Brother alike are extremely suspicious of anyone not born withing the nation.

Immigration is non existent, and anyone caught illegally crossing the borders faces up to 20 years in a Federal Prison before being dumped back wherever they came from. Very few nations are trusted well enough for the local population to be accepting of them, let along granted permission to settle in the nation.

Major Industry:

By in large, the biggest money maker in the POF is the manufacture and sale of quality custom made weaponry and ammunition. The biggest Corporation in the country is Specialist Dynamics (SD) which is currently in its first year of business after undergoing a complete modernization which took two years to complete.

Infrastructure:

Long ago, it came to the attention of the POF that traditional means of construction of a nations Infrastructure left it vulnerable and fragile to both natural disasters and possible foreign attack. Then acting President James C. Shanty signed into law the unprecedented Safety and Construction Act of 1988 which laid forth the groundwork for all future endeavors to protect The Armed Republics fragile infrastructure.

With the signing of this act, drastic and sometimes costly changes were made across the board. Some of the changes (but not all)were simple ones, such as constructing all power lines underground instead of on traditional wooden or metal poles. While others, such as all power plants having to have their fragile reactors constructed or moved to specially designed and hardened underground facilities for protection, were not so easy.

Thanks to this act, within 10 years all critical systems and assets were in compliance with the new laws, making The Armed Republic's infrastructure one of the safest (and costly) in the world.

Trade:

The POF believes in free and open trade with any and all nations that are not black listed by the government. Trade routes available to the other countries include those by land, sea, and air.

Current number of trade pacts with other countries: 3
Proposed trade pacts with other countries: 1

Geography:

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii177/leenew1_2007/NationStates/pofmapsd.png

The Nation Of POF sports a very diverse geography and several unique features. The landmass was formed several million years ago when a massive earthquake pushed part of a tectonic plate into the air from the sea floor. Several volcano's lava flows added to the landmass and help connect it to the neighboring continent.

Over the years, vegetation found its way to the land and dense forests among rolling grassland became the trademark for the nation.

Current Allies:

The Incorporated States of Holy Roman Confederate
The People's Republic of United NW Canada
The Greater Island Kingdom of New Hayesalia
Number of Foreign Military Bases On POF Soil: 2

Current Enemies:

Missourian Rebels
Christian Indians
Free Missouri
Quavv
Azaca
GEIJD

Wars Fought:

War On MIssourian Rebels - Allied Victory
War ON Quavv and Azaca - Withdrawn due to outbreak of Noob/whine Flu
Estimated 750k enemy KIA and 3 POF WIA, 0 KIA
Police Action Against Free Missouri - Allied Victory
Anti WMD Action Against Free Missouri - Allied Victory
2nd Quavv War - Allied Victory with Quavv withdrawal of foreign invasion force
Valedia Blockade of POF - Slight Victory due to Valedia fleet withdrawing. Zero KIA, 20 Civilian WIA, southern fishing zone unusable for several years due to cleanup.
The Great Asian War - Coalition Victory. Thermonuclear annihilation of GEIJD. What is left of the nation occupied and now fully under POF control. (Player Destroyed)

The Basic Soldier For The Armed Forces Of Paddy O Fernature:

No war can be won without the use of the basic and common ground pounder. As such, I have decided to dedicate an entire entry just for these brave men and women who serve in my armed forces.

Image
"There isn't a foreign threat facing our nation, that can't be solved by the unwavering determination and unholy amount of firepower contained within my beloved infantry core."
-General Stern at the onset of the land invasion of GEIJD.

Field Uniform:
Upper Body: Multicam ACU style uniform made from a Flame resistant, no drip material with built in elbow pads for maximum comfort.

Lower Body: Multicam combat cargo pants made from a flame resistant, no drip material with built in knee pads for maximum comfort.

Hands: Black or Multicam kevlar hatch gloves with optional cut off point for trigger finger. Heat, cut, and flame resistant.

Feet: Black or Multicam advanced combat boots made from advanced materials for increased wick away properties, water drainage, heat and flame protection. Have reinforced toes and armor plate in the bottom of them to help protect the user against puncture/penetrating damage.

Hydration: Standard backpack style water bladder. NBC rated and insulated to help keep water cool for the soldier.

Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Protection (NBC):
Face/Head:
M50 Style mask with attached head cover. All made from corrosion resistant materials. Filter good for 12 hours befor needing replacement. Dual filters can be used to extend service life before a needed change.

Upper/Lower Body: One piece jumpsuit with dual zipper/overlapping snap front for extra security. Legs and arms have elastic ends for securing over gloves and boots. Made from highly resistant materials. Suit has built in generic detector that changes colors to indicate what type of agent is in the area (nerve, blister, blood ect)

Feet: Oversized boots made to be pulled on and worn over normal combat boots. Made from extra thick highly resistant materials.

Hands: Extended length gloves made from highly resistant materials.

Personal Decontamination Kit:
Styled after the current US issued kit. Charcoal/chemical scrubber pads for personal use and a larger version for weapon/equipment use.

Ballistic Protection:
Body: Dragon Skin style vest with front, side, back and framoral arty protection. Rated Stand Alone Level 4 multi hit. Able to defeat multiple hits from rifle rounds up to 30-06 AP at point blank range. Carrier made from rip stop material and is flame resistant and has a mesh liner allowing for greater air flow and cooling of the user.

Overall, the vest is lighter and more flexable then standard hard sapi plate carring vests allowing for greater range of movement and less fatigue on the user over an extended peroid of use in a combat environment.

Head: Low profile ballistic head protection with built in noise reducing/hands free communication. (Bone Conduction style)
Also has a flip down ballistic goggle for eye protection. At night, a side mounted NVG projects onto the goggles from inside the helm turning night into day. Also has a built in auto dim, so if suddenly exposed to light the user doesn't suddenly find himself blind.
(Now before anyone says anything, this technology is being tested by the US military and has been for a few years now.)

Communication:
Frequency Hop Cypher Text digital hand helds with heavy encryption. This means that anyone that is sadly still useing analog style VHF will not be able to even attempt to intercept. The also allows for a individual soldiers hand held to have the same operational range as older style US "Man packs" with only a fraction of the size and weight.
Radio is attached to the back of the plate carrier and the intergrated comms from the helm are attached.

Small Arms Ammunition:
Image
-Credit to Tounushi of DA-

Primary type of small arms ammunition by the POF is Caseless Ammunition. CA eliminates the cartridge case that typically holds the primer, propellant, and projectile together as a unit. This process reduces the weight and cost of ammunition by dispensing with the case, which is typically precision made of brass or steel, as well as simplify the operation of repeating firearms by eliminating the need to extract and eject the empty case after firing. Current Government contract holder for small arms munition production is a Specialist Dynamics, A civilian owned and operation LLC located within the Armed Republic.

Training:
Unlike most nations, the POF has developed a view much like that of the modern United States Marine Corp in that they have the "everyone is a riflemen first" mentality. As such every new recruit no matter what branch you enlisted under must attend a single service wide basic training with light infantry tactics being the strong focal point. Upon completion of the nine week course, recruits are then sent to their speciality school tailored for their specific job in the military.

Week One:
-Intro And Re-adjustment week.
Soldiers are subject to total mental and physical break down and all the intro level classroom instruction. Extensive use of the obstacle course. Soldiers are issued all Ta-50 and Training manuals (Smart Books) that they will need and be expected to learn.
-5km Road March (RM)
Week Two:
-Physical and mental break down continues with extensive Drill and Ceremony (DNC). Failure will result in mass punishment via obstacle course.
-5km RM
Week Three:
- Start Of Basic Rifle Marksmanship (BRM).
Soldiers are subject to layered training starting with classroom instruction with rubber ducks. They then get hands on time in our 3D simulators, finally by the end of the week soldiers are shooting live rounds and qualifying. A failure to qual is an automatic recycle to the beginning of week 3.
-10km RM
Week Four:
-Tactics Training.
Soldiers at this stage learn the basics of Light Infantry. Hand and arm signals, communication, squad formations, reacting to contact, cover vs concealment classes, fighting position construction, Land Navigation (day/night), Basics of NBC warfare/protection, Bayonet/Grenade Training and general first aid are all learned and conducted during this week.
-10Km RM
Week Five:
-Field Training Exercise (FTX)
Soldiers will spend four days and nights in the field putting to use everything they have learned so far at a series of stations to include live fire, night ops, Force On Force, First Aid and field testing.
-The FTX ends with a 20km RM back to the barracks
Week Six:
-Vehicle Familiarization
Soldiers will spend this entire week learning everything they can about the various vehicles employed by our armed forces.
-Testing will include:
Live fire crew serve weapon systems, day/night land nav, convoy operations and communication, react to contact (to include NBC), vehicle familiarization and maintenance.
Week Seven:
-Combatives:
This entire week, soldiers are instructed in hand to hand fighting and taught how to attack/defend against armed/unarmed enemies.
Week Eight:
-CQB/CQM and Battlefield Tactics Training
Soldiers are subject to everything pertaining to close quarter battles and marksmanship. They are also subject to training and tactics and how to apply them to various battlefield terrain (not limited to) Urban, Mountain, Desert ect ect.
Week Nine:
-Final FTX and Graduation
Soldiers this week will spend a majority of it in the field much as before putting it all together to complete a series of day/night missions against Op4. Upon completion soldiers must complete a 25Km RM back to the parade grounds, where they will conduct their graduation ceremony.
-Soldiers then spend the rest of their time until they are shipped out cleaning their barracks and equipment.

Specialty Units/Branches of the Armed Forces:

Image

The Highland Guard (HG) is the newest military branch in the Armed Republic. Implemented in 2011 by President Wallace Mcbeth and backed by a 81% congressional vote, the Highland Guard is a military branch dedicated to homeland defense from possible hostile foreign aggression.

After years of foreign observation and several offshore wars conducted by the Armed Republic, it was noted that one of the biggest flaws in a nations defense was a lack of dedicated troops in prepared and hardened fighting positions specially trained for fighting a defensive war.

Most nations rely on the tactic of waiting for the enemy to come to them then rushing fighting forces toward a "front" in the hopes of countering the enemies moves. This tactic is flawed on several levels, mainly being that it allows your enemy to dictate the ebb and flow of the engagement and could ultimately force one to fight on his terms and not your own.

Out of the need to counter this train of thought, the Highland Guard was born.

The Highland guard at any given time will not consist of more then One (1) percent of the nation's serviceable population. The Highland Guard is also funded under Article 31 from the nations national police budget.

Image

Unlike some nations who boast large numbers of so called "Elite" forces, the Armed Republics Special Forces Command has taken it upon itself to harness a handpicked elite force recruited from only the top one percent of it's standing armed forces.

This force does not rely on numbers to get the job done. Instead it relies on the latest cutting edge technology mixed in with superior personal skill and training to accomplish any mission given to them.

Funding allotted for the training and equipping of this small and elite force is nearly ten times that of a normal combat line unit. Which means that an average "company" sized element will have the available funding comparable to a standing brigade.

Training for these men is brutal and is designed to push these men passed the breaking point. Minimum PT requirements for even being considered for selection are:

* 100 PU in 2 min
* 100 SU in 2 min
* 2 mile run completed in less then 12 min
* Able to do 20 pull ups non stop from a dead hang
* Must score expert on Basic Rifle Marksmanship (BRM)
* Must have 5 years remaining in current contract, or be willing to re enlist for a min of 5 years
* Must have a Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field

Once a soldier meets the minimum requirements, he is then given a green light to attend one of only two training cycles held each year. Each cycle takes roughly 96 weeks to fully complete from start to finish.

During these almost two years of training, candidates must successfully complete a dozen of the toughest schooling's available in the Armed Republic while becoming experts in both conventional and unconventional warfare with both domestic and foreign weapon systems from small arms handling to disarming nuclear warheads.

Once soldiers have successfully completed their training, they are tasked out to one of several Special Operations Groups (SOG) for the remainder of their military careers and continuously train and hone their skills when not deployed.

Due to the extreme nature of their training and operational duties, Soldiers who successfully complete their initial training will have whatever their base pay is doubled in compensation.

"Loyalty through honor, honor through duty, duty through service, service equals redemption."
-55th Motto Adopted At Un Casing Of The Colors Ceremony, 2013.-

As part of the GEIJD Reconstruction Act of 2013, which was drafted after the close of The War Of The Setting Sun, The 55th Army Group was formed under the command of newly promoted Colonel Jacob E. Hawken. Following lessons learned from the small wars manual, the main body of the 55th would be comprised of former GEIJD citizens and soldiers in good health who have physically renounced their former citizenship and leadership. However, rank advancement is limited within the 55th with all officer positions being pulled from the POF's Special Forces Officer School (SFOS).

The 55th is structured as a front line combat unit and trained in the same manner as standard POF soldiers. However, given the history between the two nations, the 55th was deliberately given a distinctive uniform to help further distinguish and segregate them from the standing army. They would also be given what many soldiers within the POF would consider second rate, or simplified equipment when compared to the cutting edge gear found issued throughout similar "pure" regiments.

Military Engineering Of Interest (WIP)

Orbital Tracking Array (OTA)
Little is know of this highly controversial detection array. However, what is known is that the OTA is a multistatic radar system that detects orbital objects as small as 10 cm (four inches) at heights up to 30,000 km (15,000 nautical miles).

Sea Detection Grid (SDG)
The SDG is a highly advanced and costly array of early warning and detection sonar arrays anchored on the ocean floor off a hundred miles off the mainland. This grids primary purpose is to provide early warning of infiltration of hostile maritime forces from unknown origins, and then aid in there destruction.

People Of Interest:

Image

Name: Edward West Stern
RanK: General
Title: Supreme Commander

Edward Stern was born Aug 3rd 1970 and was the 2nd son of Mike and Lisa Stern. His brother, Joshua was killed at the age of seven by a drunk driver who veered off the road and side swiped him as he rode his bike on the sidewalk with his friends.

Edward excelled in his schooling and even at an early age, showed signs of his great leadership potential as the captain of the local football team.

By high school, Edward was almost a full grade level ahead of his class which allowed him to graduate a year early. After leading his school football team (The Wolverines) to victory in the regional championship, Edward started looking at his options for his required military service.

Military Career: Edward Stern enlisted into POF's officer academy at the young age of 17. He attended the four year school and graduated on his 21st birthday as the top of his class, and was inserted as a young LT into the nations Navy.

Stern quickly rose through the ranks and soon found himself the youngest officer ever to be given the rank of Captain and his own command. He showed great leadership and technical ability along with sound tactical know how. The men and women serving under him quickly fell in love with his leadership style and charisma with many choosing to stay in the military once their required term was up.

Over the years and through various conflicts, Stern's ability and resolve was tested many times. Each time however, he came out swinging. His valor and dedication are a credit upon himself, and his nation and has personally received a presidential award for his spotless career at the capital of New Galway.

In 2010, the Department Of Defense in conjunction with the President and his cabinet reworked the entire upper chain of command, and it was decided by a landslide vote to nominate then Col Stern to the new position of Supreme Commander of the entire POF Military.

Stern humbly accepted his new position with his troops cheering loudly drowning out the marching band in their excitement. Never has any commander been so widely accepted and loved by his troops in the history of the POF. To this day he continues to shine as a stellar military tactician and commander in various parts around the globe.

Wallace C. McBeth was born to a wealthy family in Southern POF on Jan 1, 1956. He attended St. Paul's private school for most of his schooling before graduating top of his class with a major in Politics.

He attended his mandatory five year enlistment in the military in the nations capital working in a regional supply depot. Upon completion, he immediately got back into politics and over the next decade found himself advancing through the ranks and a steady pace.

During the last election season, he was nominated by the Cloverleaf political party as their Presidential Candidate and after a short but vicious campaign it was found that he won at the polls by a landslide vote of 45-7 against his opponent.

Since then to this day, Wallace C. McBeth has proudly served the people as the President of the POF. Since his election and through his decisions, the nation has seen a 11% increase in economics and an almost unheard of drop in major crime by 44%.

Grey Mountain Research Facility is located within the North eastern mountains of POF. The site chosen was one of the many underground fortresses/shelters that the POF had constructed over the last century for the defense of the country and its population.

Originally planned as a proposed nuclear waste long term storage facility, the advent of cleaner more efficient power sources rendered the proposed idea obsolete. Instead, it was decided that the site would be replaced with a government funded high security research facility for conducting high risk research and technological advancements.

Construction bidding was awarded to NW Canada and was completed on time and slightly under budget, much to the approval of the Government. It should be noted, that the quality of the craftsmanship that went into this project is a testament to their superb work.

Surface Defenses and Systems:
Access to Grey Mountain is highly restricted. Only authorized personnel are allowed in the base and the handful of administrative buildings. Three defensive perimeters surround the base with a combination of fences, obstacles and sensors. Government troops stationed here patrol the perimeters and man the checkpoints on the surface.

Old artillery bunkers in the mountains were renovated and retrofitted. Multi-layered and multipurpose layered defenses using the old artillery bunks with in the perimeters.
*Twelve of the bunkers will mount 35mm MANTIS CIWS. These will provide point defense as well as capablity to engage ground targets with accurate, lethal large caliber automatic fire. The "swarm" shells are effective against personnel and light armored vehicles as well as aerial targets.
*Short range defense will be provided by 18 MMES ADA configuration mounts (ADATS, dual 35mm cannon, IRIS-T) which can engage both ground and aerial targets. *Medium multip purpose defense will be fixed ground versions of the TOR-1A containing 9K332 "Tor-M2" missiles which are optimized to engage guided munitions such as the AGM-86 ALCM.
*Long Range and ABM defenses are two fold. First being 18 quad S-400 Triumf LSAM/ABM launcher systems. The S-400 is capable of detecting six targets[4] out to a range of 400 km (250 miles), including aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles having a range of max. 3,500 km and a speed of max. 4.8 km/s and then engaging them at ranges of up to 200 km. It is designed to have improved performance against stealth aircraft.
*Final Layer of conventional based defense are three 32 armored vertical launch cells containing RIM-174 Standard ERAM, two 32 cell armored vertical launch cells containing RIM-161 Standard SM-3 Block IIA SAMs and the Land Aegis support and detection/targeting system.
*Rounding out the exterior defenses are three modified Mk-65 5 inch gun retractable mounts with the cannon removed and high-energy, chemical oxygen iodine laser (COIL) and support systems intended for deployment on the Horus class Battlespace defense cruiser

Detection capability is provided by the networking of the Land Aegis system, the tracking/targeting sensors of the other deployed systems to form an integrated matrix.

Initial Access:
Grey Mountain access is done with a 1/3 mile long tunnel which has various twists and turns built into it preventing any high-speed incursions past the check points and to delay escape from the facility as well. Series of command and auto detect proximity mines line sections of the tunnel was well as Protector remote weapons emplacements. The access tunnel has a series of “bunker” style guard posts along its length as well which and block travel down the rail-line.. Five armed Security Force troops are always on duty at the exterior gate/door in an armored "bunker" post. Remote sensors tied into the Facility's security/defense system monitor all traffic approaching to enter or leave the facility. Three pairs of Protector remote weapons stations(Two mounting M240 GPMGs loaded with Armour-piercing incendiary ammunition; two mounting M249 SAWs loaded with armor-piercing ammunition; two mounting Tirrena Mod T-148 Flamethrowers) The complex is sealed with a series of three 25-tonne steel and concrete doors. Three pairs of static versions of the Protector remote weapons stations are mounted in each of the two spaces between the 25-tonne steel and concrete doors. The main level is steel-lined and Faraday shielded, to prevent EMP attacks, and air pressure sensors at both north and south tunnel entrances detect changes and seal the mountain closed automatically upon nuclear detonation in the vicinity.

General Layout:

The layout of the Facility is as follows. There is a central silo shaft that runs the depth of the facility. Seven Master levels compose the silo. Each of the Master Levels is composed of four sub-levels. From each of the silo Master levels four "spoke" passages run and connect to a surrounding ring passage. On this surrounding ring passage are nine sub-sphere structures (Only four sub-sphere structures on Master Level Foxtrot). Though the structure of the facility is completed only portions of the facility are fully developed. Undeveloped portions are generally unused at this point with expansion in mind. Other wise they are used for storage purposes. The facility's main corridors allow for the movement of personnel and materials. A main lift system as well as three secondary lifts runs the length of the silo. These lift tubes can be segregated and isolated by sliding armored blast plates.

As persons/vehicles enter, they checked by the guards and by Infrared, Ultraviolet, Ultrasonic, and low-level X-ray sensors. Chemical and Biological sensors also check for the presence of chemical and biological agents.

Background:

The Armed Republic Space Program (ARSP) was created by the successful signing of the Space Act Of 1980. The act allotted 100 acres of secluded land and the initial cash for construction of the main facilities that would be needed.

Construction took nearly three years to complete and another year of testing before the site was officially opened for use in 1984. At the time, it was the largest government funded construction project to date and was dubbed a technological marvel by then President James Williams.

The 100 acre site that would be the new home for the Armed Republics hopes and dreams of the future, and as such was christened New Hope and is still known by that name even today.

Safety and Security:
ARSP facilities are all constructed to the highest standard for safety and protection from possible mechanical, natural, or other disasters that may be encountered. New Hope is completely closed off from the general public by a duel layer of chain link fencing topped with razor wire, and monitored by CCTV.

Security at the main gate relies on a layered approach to detect and handle any possible threats to the facility. The first line consists of highly trained and armed security who check ID cards against a handheld biometric scanner from anyone wishing access.

Anyone with a past or current criminal record, tourists, or anyone driving a vehicle other then the one they prior registered with will be turned away and escorted off the grounds.

Once cleared, personal must then pull their vehicle forward and allow a K9 to search the vehicle before being allowed to the next stage of security, which is a full vehicle x-ray.

New Hope Facility Buildings:
* Launch/Mission * Fuel Processing Plant * Security Facility * Storage
Control * Underground Fuel Storage * Decontamination Area
* Maintenance * Research Labs: A,B,C * Barracks/Transfer Quarters
* Launch Pad * Testing Sites: A,B,C * Full Spectrum manufacturing
* Landing Runway * Fire Rescue/EMS * Dining Facility

Equipment Currently In Use:

In 2001, The Armed Republic purchased the cancelled X-33 program from the United States upon seeing the potential that the program still contained for a mere $1.5B N$. This included the prototype (which was roughly 85% complete) and all parts and designs for the project.

Since then, another $300 Million was invested into the design of the SSTO shuttle to bring it fully online and adapted to work with current POF Technology.

The launch pad is constructed of a reinforced heat resistant concrete pad with a retractable launch arm that can quickly be reset for multiple launches if needed.

Current space suit designs work by providing a pressurized earth like environment inside the suit to protect the user from the harsh and often brutal environment of space. Current space suits provide air pressure to keep the fluids in your body in a liquid state -- in other words, to prevent your bodily fluids from boiling. Like a tire, a space suit is essentially an inflated balloon that is restricted by some rubberized fabric, in this case, Neoprene-coated fibers.

This has several drawbacks, such as being bulky and needing a large life support system to keep the system working properly at all times which severely limits what the user is capable of doing at any given time.

To over come these drawbacks, the researchers at Specialist Dynamics have taken a radical change in direction when designing the nations current space suit from the ground up.

Locomotion and life support for the SD EVAS is based on the concept of providing a "second skin" capability for astronaut performance. This is done through mechanical counter-pressure where pressure is applied to the entire body through a tight-fitting suit with a specially designed helmet for the head.

This design has several bonuses over traditional pressurized suit designs. For example, Bulk and weight is significantly reduced due to the suit's reduced life support needs thus eliminating the need for an over sized LS system.

The suit also provides greater protection and mobility for the user in hostile environments. On a traditional pressure suit, even a tiny rip or hole could spell disaster for the user as the suit quickly depressurizes as the internal positive pressure naturally wants to equalize with the environment around it. With the SD EVAS design, this risk is already greatly reduced due to not relying on internal gas pressure to provide a safe working environment. On top of this, a special self sealing gel layer is integrated into the suites design to provide automatic life saving patching in case of a breech.
