I assume they aren't talking of boron.

What have you got against boron, huh? Huh? Just because it doesn't make shiny crystals like beryllium or ... or ... form the basis for life, like carbon, just because it's a metalloid and not a metal ... ooh, look at me, I'm iron, I'm a metal, la la la la ... *sniff* Where would your plant cell walls be without it, huh? And your semiconductors? Try semiconducting without boron! Yeah, and try making ceramics and glass that don't explode from thermal shock, sending a cloud of razor-sharp shards flying through the air!
Elementist!

Just the Palin/Beck ticket.Jingoist Hippostan wrote:So I was reading about what's actually supposed to happen in 2012, out of curiosity. Wikipedia gave me little information, I found a few websites that gave some. While they were all, unsurprisingly, filled with new-age babbling about the fifth element and indigo children, I'm guessing they're reliable as far as Mayan prophecy information goes.
Yeah, so apparently in addition to the shitton of natural disasters everyone hears about, there's supposed to be something that makes people choose between staying on Earth and a path away from Earth that seems "alluring, but in the end leads to oblivion."
But here's the awesome part. Apparently this is what the people who stay on Earth have happen to them:
-Massive genetic mutations (cool ones)
-A massive expansion in consciousness (Including being able to fricken manipulate energy with our minds)
-Dimensional shifts. Yeah. Dimensional shifts.
-COMPLETE CESSATION OF ALL LINEAR TIME (But it'll be cool, since our consciousnesses are metaphysical tanks by now)
...Great, now I'm kind of hoping that this stuff isn't bullshit.
