This is the place to put your roster (your team's squad, the list of players). Any information about your team is welcome here, from the names and positions of the players to the information about the coach, the stadium, the kits and things about the country. The information you post here can help a lot other participating countries to RP games against you (or other stories). Do not forget that the other people will check here the info about your squad, so this is a major source of information for anyone.

Feel free to post here your squad list and other general information about your team.

Also, choose a style modifier from -5 (most defensive) to +5 (most offensive), which will determine the attitude of your country (defensive or offensive).

To finish, you can tell the other participants what they can or cannot do in their RPs involving your team, completing the RP permissions box:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

Aniporo National Team Staff

Manager - Maxi Von Stubbs
183 cm, 88 kg, 54 years old
Maxi Von Stubbs was selected as the first Aniporo national team manager for his motivational power and football philosophy. After a few years as a player overseas, Von Stubbs moved on to the coaching side of football back in Aniporo and has become somewhat of a legend. He has won 5 domestic championships with three different teams (Exitos City (1), Manglo United (1) & FC Jabay (3)) due to his strong defenses and always prepared players. He was the President of Atletico Fut Union before accepting the Aniporo National Team job. He expects to have a good first showing to the world in the Baptism of Fire and then hopefully in the NS World Cup.

Assistant – Laurence Alejandro Sanchez
176 cm, 90 kg, 41 years old
Sanchez is a household name in Aniporo as the greatest football player for the domestic club FC Jabay and possibly Aniporo. After retiring with seven domestic cups, 3 domestic championships and the all time domestic record of 170 goals, Sanchez stayed out of the public eye for three years until recently when Von Stubbs, his coach during the 3 championships at FC Jabay, personally visited him to convince Sanchez to accept the position as his assistant in the country’s first national team. After a few weeks and much tabloid rumors, Laurence A. Sanchez returned to the game he loved to hopefully bring back a trophy or two.

Tarrentum National Football Team Roster
Tarrentum Falcons

Also Referred to as: Orange-and-Blue; Imperials; Nation’s Pride

Managerial Staff
Manager- Daestegwen Dlartanina (Slyvanae from Dorian and Sonya), Daestegwen was hired as a replacement to the out-of-favor Gregori Burindi after a disastorous P.R. showing during the Queen's Cup in Cassadaigua. Ms. Dlartanina will get her first taste of Tarrentian football during this year's AOCAF tournament but is eager to prove showcase her talents and skills in the World Cup. She is the first government-recognized "elven folk" by Tarrentum and has started on a campaign to bring Tarrentum's other elfkind into the open.
Assistant ManagerAlexander Italiana, the magnificent brother of Tarrentum’s Eternal Supreme President Borgia Italiana, has been a meddling manager of FC Yuppers, in the TPFL, for seven years. His appointment is largely seen as politically and corporately focused as his nephew, Supreme President Cesare Italiana, was largely instrumental in putting his name forward. The Yupping Yuppers are also owned by Alexander’s food company, Yuppers…“For Supper!” (as the slogan goes).
Head CoachDelphine Gabriella Italiana, sister to Supreme President Cesare Italiana, Delphine is the only female coach in the non-gender integrated TPFL. Her credentials are beyond reproach however as she has lead the Krozuy Academics to three out of the last five Cup Championship Matches (winning one).

Starters names are bolded, Primary position denoted by ^^
(Name; Birth City, Tarrentum Premier League Football Club)

Strikers
Noel Gennesse (pronounced “Jen-nah-see”); Yui, Yui State College Women’s Football Club (ST^^, RW, LW) – Gennesse was picked up by the National Squad specifically for the Queen’s Cup tournament held in Cassadaigua and fared so well (scoring 4 goals in 5 matches) that the TSC demanded she be on the National Team. Gennesse was the top women’s soccer player in Tarrentum this year and posted 15 Goals for the Lady Bears. Age: 20, Goals: 15, Assists: 2 NTCC Stats
Henry Qund; Stroudsville, Tarburr, Krozuy Academics (RW^^, LW) – Qund is originally Tarburr by birth but was raised since the of age three in Tarrentum. He was granted official citizenship and birthright by the Supreme President on his 21st birthday in recognition to his already substantial contributions to the TPFL. By that time Qund had already shown his great worth to the Academics by leading them in goals for the past three years. Qund has tremendous speed and chip shot accuracy. Age: 30, Goals: 26, Assists: 10
Sandroni Sadroni; Apolln, FC Yuppers (LW^^, ST, RW) CAPTAIN – Sadroni has been a tour de force in the TPFL since his emergence onto the national scene 13 years ago. Not a great finesse player but his ability to eye the opposing defensive set piece and find the open assist has led to his two MVP awards during the middle of his career. He’s lost a step since his debut over a decade ago but his grueling, physical play is something to watch. Age: 35, Goals: 5, Assists: 7
Garto Nicolli; Trumboi, Galitz FCA (RW, LW^^) – Nicolli has seen extensive time on the national level and has garnered a lot of experience playing in international friendlies. Nicolli’s contributions to Galitz have been minimized but have been impressive. In the 20 games he has appeared in during TPFL matches, Galitz has recorded at least a goal or an assist in each one. He is a specialist with the corner kick. Age: 32, Goals: 12, Assists: 9
Rubinu Warti; Lake Empress, Krozuy Academics (ST^^, RW) – Warti’s contributions to the Academics have been sporadic the past two years but his devotion and loyalty to Tarrentum have been well documented. He has won the coveted Most Patriotic and Loyal Footballer award the four out of the past five years. Age: 39, Goals: 5, Assists: 5

Midfielders
Sforza Italiana; Napoliroma, Tre Da La (CM^^, CMD) – The adored Sforza Italiana, youngest brother of Supreme President Cesare Italiana, has proved many analysts wrong by become a very good player in the TPFL. This year he was named Captain of TPFL Champion Tre Da La, the youngest in the league’s history. Sforza has great speed but loses sight of open passes and opportunities easily. His lack of ball discipline also leads to a bunch of yellow cards. Age: 22, Goals: 8, Assists: 5
Stefano Nastromani; Pullo, FC Yuppers (LM^^, ST, LW) – Nastromani is widely seen and respected as one of the best young footballers throughout all of Tarrentum. His intelligence, quick feet and shot selection have made him a very dangerous weapon. He was the youngest ever player on a TPFL club when he signed at the age of 18 after his collegiate career. He has gradually risen to become a main fixture of the Yupping Yuppers. Age: 20, Goals: 10, Assists: 4
Judasi Kypa; Upper Didi, FC Yuppers (RM^^, LM) – Kypa is the perfect finesse player. He rarely draws a card and has won the unofficial Lady Kristiana Trophy the past three years for his humanitarian contributions. Kypa is the consummate team player. Age: 30, Goals: 5, Assists: 5
Fredo Tulu; Bolonza, Napoliroma Legion (CM^^, CB) – Tulu’s contributions to the Legion have centered around the expert command of the midfield and direction of the set pieces. His inclusion on the national team is the subject of speculation and controversy as he has been linked to an affair with Delphine Italiana for the past three years which has kept the Tarrentian tabloids ripe with new stories. Age: 37, Goals: 2
Rutgar Vincinz; Doria, Walli Walli FC (RM^^, LW) – Vincinz has been the leading man at Walli Walli recently being given a new contract by the club last year. He brings a menacing presence to the pitch drawing a large amount of yellow cards. Age: 31, Goals: 9, Red Cards: 5
Borgia Callami; Apolln, Krozuy Academics (LM^^, RM) – Callami shows flashes of brilliance at times but is mostly seen as a solid footballer by most of the TPFL reporters. Age: 34, Goals: 2, Assists: 7

Defenders
Treppen Uppenilli; Kuli Caffron, Galitz FC (RB^^, LB) – Uppenilli is a strong, intelligent defender that has helped Galitz to a respectable record this past year. He is great at drawing offside calls. He has also been voted the Sexiest Footballer in Tarrentum for five straight years. Age: 28, Goals: 8, Female Body Parts Autographed Last Year: 492
Claudius Bacanelli; Krozuy, FC Yuppers (RCB^^, LCB, RB) – Bacanelli has provided the Yupping Yuppers a key defensive footballer who has helped the club move up in TPFL tables. He is noted as one of the quickest defenders in the TPFL. Age: 29
Justinian Tremani; Gallen, Krozuy Academics (LCB^^, LB) – Tremani has been voted the top Defensive Player in the TPFL three out of the past five years. Tremani has learned to compensate for his lack of speed with his excellent down-pitch vision. Age: 34
Olli Vaspa; Vardin Mountain, Napoliroma Legion (LB^^, RB) – Vaspa has seen extensive time in the Legion backfield due to his aggressiveness and quickness. Age: 27
Nico Lardorama; Trulin, Walli Walli FC (RCB^^, LCB) – Lardorama is known throughout the TPFL for his intense and aggressive play. He has drawn a fair amount of yellow cards of the past season. Age: 32, Red Cards: 2
Gregor Fluti; Vardin Mountain, Krozuy Academics (LB^^, RB) – Fluti has seen his stock rise along with Tremani on the Academics. Their play together is widely seen as a main reason for the Academics success in the TPFL. Age: 31
Sarudi Julian; Napoliroma, Illian Grasshoppers (LCB^^, RCB, LB) – Julian is the star player for the lowly Grasshoppers but has spent the majority of his time away from the club either training for the national team or appearing in his hit sitcom “You Wish You Were That Cool” which is continually nominated for multiple Tarrentum Actors Association Awards. Age: 28
Walri Castanella; Yui, Galitz FC (RB^^, LB, CM) – Castanella has proven a boon to Galitz since his rookie season. His defensive awareness is in a league of its own and his ability to cut off the attack has been seen as the reason for Galitz’ recent success. Age: 24

Goalkeepers
Raspu Tucadi; Trulin, Krozuy Academics – Tucadi has been a key reason for the Academics winning ways the past few seasons. He takes over as the number one goalkeeper for the national team after Bodacello’s failing play at the international level. Age: 30
Goran Balboa; Apolln City, Tre Da La – Balboa’s ability to make the amazing save propelled the Singing Club to its first TPFL Championship this year. Balboa’s highlight reel acrobats are tempered by the more-than-occasional missed save.

My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

Mossulia Echo

Baptism of Fire world cup here we come!

Mossulia is a nation of many sports, and in the past we have come close to a little thing called success. Although the definition of success is obscure so many people might say we have been flops so far, the fact is we think managing to participate is a success for there. Anyway more over recently, 3 to 4 years ago, Mossulia's government was overthrown by a bunch of highly organised and intelligent animals from the Arctic and Antarctic circles. Recently humans have been slaves to the other "greater races", but now they have gained there freedom and are equal citizens of our great country. The human star on the team are Louis Morphin a star midfielder and Jack Davies an amazing defender. The rest are animals remember that. The only real tournaments that we have ever competed in are the Queens cup and the Baptism of Fire. We were doing well in both, but then in typical fashion we failed and died in the group stage. The fact is limited success is the name of our game and we don't intend to play it this time.

Team statistics:

First game: 1-1 Vs. Cafundéu (Queens Cup)
First win: 1-0 Vs. Sratos (Queens cup)
Biggest win: 2-0 Vs. Nanwe (Baptism of Fire)
Biggest defeat: 1-5 Vs. Valanora

(Age/Race)

Starters in bold

Goalkeepers
Grash
(24/Polar Bear)
Strongly built and extremely intelligent, like any other polar bear, but this guy really is something special. He can sniff out defenders and is as powerful as a well urm... polar bear. He is still young and had many golden year laid out in front of him, he could seriously take Mossulia places in this cup and has made it known in the past that going for second just isn't good enough.

Defenders
Jack Davies
(21/Human)
He has shown the nation a thing or two with his rock solid defending. Before he and Morphin came onto the footballing scene there was an assumption that humans can't play football, when in fact they can. He has shown the world a lot and in his last season at the youth academy of Olivos he didn't concede one goal the whole time and even made several good clearances off the line.
Hapire
(24/Walrus)
He isn't exactly the speediest player out there, but when he goes into tackle it always comes off in his favour. He isn't known for taking defeat well and has in the past made one or two reckless tackles, he even got sent to prison once. A lot of the time he can have a bit of a temper about him, but if he focuses he can really change a game.
Kiarter
(27/Polar Bear)
He has just as much strength as Hapire, but he also has speed and he isn't as dirtier tackler. He is know for his fair play and has won numerous awards for it, he has never got a red or yellow card and has only conceded one free-kick against him for offside. He was recently passed the captains arm band after Tungi became a reserve.
Avar
(31/Seal)
Strong and slightly on the chubby side. The fact is though he is a seal and needs the fat to help him through the cold winters. He may look chubby, but he is solid in defence and it is a rare occurrence for a defender to get past him with ease. He has been known to be very dedicated to his work and spends many hours in training trying to improve that little bit more.

Midfielder
Verdie
(20/Elk)
Strong and powerful is how he can be, but most of the time he is very quick and agile unlike most Elk's. He surprises many defences with fast sprinting and accurate crosses. He isn't a glory-grabbing goal scorer, but his hard work defiantly wins games and he doesn't get the credit he deserves. The fans still love him to bits though.
Louis Morphin
(8/Human)
Humans usually are overlooked when the national team is picked, but he was really making a lot of noise. He scores goal like a striker, yet he manages to make crosses and tackles like a defender. No one could believe that the first human in the squad would be so young, but after seeing him play they understood why he was picked.
Vage
(27/Elk)
Another Elk, he is stronger and more powerful than Verdie but he lacks that agile streak. He has always been Mossulia's star midfielder and some how over the years has dodged any scandal and hasn't even been in one tabloid to date. In the end he just goes on the pitch and does his job, "it's hard to imagine him having a life off the pitch!" say most people.

Strikers
Gitsi
(Arctic Fox/22)
She can score from short range and never misses the chance to bury a sitter, he can also score screamers from ranges that most strikers wouldn't even dream of, and he creates chances for his team mates to score. You get the picture she is a star striker. She currently is the most famous Mossulian play on the planet and a great number of posters of her appear on Mossulian teenagers walls.
Kron
(Penguin/17)
One of they only penguins on the team and there is very little else to say about him. He knows where the back of the nets is and he knows how to set goals up. On the pitch he does the business and off the pitch he stays very quite, occasionally being seen going to dinner with someone, but it's usually his family.
Bargi
(Penguin/28)
Not one of the best strikers that the team possess, but he really is a diva so people know him and he creates some noise for the team. They only reason he isn't on the bench is because there are few people good enough to replace him, maybe one day someone will come along and make him look as gooder striker as a bag of seeds, but until then he's in.

Reserves:
Goalkeepers
Tungi
(35/Elk)
Borst
(17/Polar Bear)
Defenders
Hitiki
(29/Polar Bear)
Taio
(37/Elk)
Samier
(34/Seal)
Midfielders
Paredio
(15/Arctic Fox)
Særdio
(39/Penguin)
Forwards
Huan
(19/Arctic Fox)
Carshi
(22/Polar Bear)

Formation: a winged 4-4-2, though variations are likely. The typical starters are numbers 1-11, also known as those not in italics. But it'll probably be slightly different each time, whether I RP it or not, so feel free to tweak that as you see fit.

Aguazul play a fairly attacking (+2) style.

My opponents, if they RP first, can do whatever they want. Of the starting eleven, Villalobos is probably the most likely to commit fouls and Riquelme the least. Bustamante takes free kicks.

Mahathu's Number One English Language Daily

Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's World Cup 53 Qualifying Squad Released

Qichechumadia Zhabi - Based largely on the performances of players in the 5242 KPFA League First Division season, as well as the AOCAF 30 tournament in Pacitalia, Baba Yaga, national team manager (and part-time evil witch) has selected 23 men and women to represent the Federation. As expected, the team is dominated by players from the Big 5 of the First Division, with Angels represented by two players, FKM by four, Urajbina by three, Vulkan by three, and champions Zhevassi by four. Their nation waits with rabid anticipation; the Pazhujeb Islands in particular have been without football for years.

Notably (with regard to selections), Anton Denisov and Pazhuj Yivashaktim remain on the team, despite threats from both that they might retire from the international game. Both will be reserves to Zubeida Ichuvihaja, whose meteoric rise to superiority has stepped on a couple toes. Jahat Chahachim and Zaqazha Uharhi have both made the team despite their recent injury woes. Athaši Hu's rich vein of form and utility-man versatility in defense have earned him a spot. Several young strikers will be available for Baba Yaga, with Shcherbina, Khorkuleva, and Omelchenko all in the squad, but at the expensive of Kagdaz old-timer Stefanovic, whose poor form, weight, and age have pushed him out of the picture.

Manager:
Image

Baba Yaga - 2,147 Years Old
An ancient legend, a horrible witch, and a pagan goddess, Baba Yaga has lurked in the shadows of Eastern European folklore for a thousand years. Wrinkly and decrepit, with withering eyes and iron teeth, but with an eerily young-sounding voice, Babushka (as she invites the team to call her) is feared but trusted as the manager of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu. She is perpetually aided in her coaching duties by her unnamed cat, as well as the flocks of sinister black geese that are always in the sky high above her. They are useful in stealing tactical information from other teams as well as spying on her own players, who risk being baked to death and eaten by the witch if they are caught engaging in any uncouth behavior. She shares a close relationship with Vasilisa (known in legend herself as Vasilisa the Beautiful), who played a role in ensuring Baba Yaga obtained her current job. As a rule, Baba Yaga is a fairly stereotypical fairy tale witch and can be expected to act as such. Being the embodiment of a strong female personality, the feminist military dictatorship running the Federation support her all the way.

Kits:
Image

There are three main kits used by the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu national team: two homes and one away. The wisteria and green colors are used when the team plays in Kagdazka, whereas the purple and black is used when they visit Pazhujebu. The white and wisteria is used for away matches.

Style Modifier:
+1

Tactics:
Baba Yaga's team plays in a 4-3-3 formation with a stepped three-man midfield, two very advanced wing/strikers, and a classic center forward. To make the formation more defensive, she often adds another defender, resulting in a 5-2-3 or 5-3-2. When trailing, the Federation will often remove a center back and add another attacking midfield threat. The following is the most common starting eleven opponents will see, though variations on it will occur based on injury or tactical nuance. For instance, Vazavorski or Nikolic can be used instead of Semënov or Vasilisa in the midfield.

Stadia to be Used During Qualifying

Avazhughij Arena - 47,000
As residents of the city of Pkethat Šede on Šede Island travel south into the impenetrable purple-and-green-tinted jungle in the interior of the island, they are bound to see Avazhughij Arena, home of Šede Island Shadows, rising out of the undergrowth. It almost looks simply like a huge glass wall, as only one stand is visible from beneath the cover of leaves and violet Šede fruit blossoms. Truly an aesthetically pleasing venue, the stadium is quite newly built.
This stadium will host the match against Dutch Africa on Matchday 12 and the match against Dorian and Sonya in post-qualifying.

Šmaraka Saraka Stidiyama - 41,000
Though it pales in comparison to the size of other stadia in the Pazhujeb Islands, Monument Street Stadium (Šmaraka Saraka Stidiyama in Pazhujebi) is one of the most beloved in the entire country. Nestled into an ancient neighborhood in Urajbina, the stadium was once a Roman-style coliseum and is now home to club tenants Urajbina ZL. The stands are mostly made of stone, but an elaborate draping system all around the exterior and interior of the stadium gives it the appearance of being made wholly of gold, red, and blue fabric.
This stadium will host the match against Sarzonia on Matchday 16 and the match against Valladares on Matchday 17.

Palachi Dvortsa - 81,000
The Executioners' Palace ('Palachi Dvortsa' in Russian) is a rather poorly named stadium, when one thinks about it. A gorgeous cubic glass design on the outside of the stadium mirrors the architectural styles of its city, Dyurtyuli, nicknamed the City of Ice. The venue is the home of both Angels and Yastrabi and is the largest in the country. However, visitors should beware that Dyurtyuli is not only called the City of Ice because of its glass buildings, it is also bitterly cold basically all the time.
This stadium will host the match against Melki on Matchday 1, the match against Kazzoria on Matchday 6, the match against Delaclava in mid-qualifying, the match against Vjiay on Matchday 11, and the match against Haginonia on Matchday 14.

Graha’ajat Stidiyama - 79,000
The home field of Zhevassi ZL, this stadium is nestled up in the misty hills east of the town and is made mostly from wood but meticulously decorated from pitch to stand to roof to entrance with soapstone sculptures, many of which are massive and built into the architecture. In Pazhujebi, the name of the stadium means "Stadium of the Planet," which tells a layman the sort of pride residents of the small Zahuj Peninsula town have in this grand park and in their club side.
This stadium will host the match against Slazenagara on Matchday 4 and the match against Qazox on Matchday 9.

Information for the Foreign Mahathu Herald Reader

First of all, thanks for buying our paper! We're a rather small outfit as there are a couple of big Pazhujebi-language papers in Mahathu we have to compete with, so we appreciate the business. Secondly, you have probably gathered that Kagdazka and Pazhujebu have two very distinct identities, and you're right. Here's a quick run-down.

Kagdazka is a very cold Siberian territory inhabited by largely ethnic Russians. Wisteria is their national color. They have fair skin, blue eyes, and blonde or brown hair. They often travel via dogsled and brave the snow as part of their daily lives.

Pazhujebis are the descendants of North Indian expellees of Rome. They settled the Pazhujeb Islands (now known as Pazhujebu) about two millenia ago. They have light to medium brown skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. All Pazhujebis, men and women, wear purple turbans at all times, including during football matches.

Never refer to a citizen of the Federation as a "Federationer," it is considered very offensive. If you aren't sure whether someone is Kagdaz or Pazhujebi, just pick one arbitrarily.

The Federation's national team is referred to by different nicknames in the two different constituent countries. Here in Pazhujebu, where Mahathu is, we call the team the 'Purple Sea Urchins,' which is what we used to call the old Pazhujeb Islands national team. Our friends over in Kagdazka, on the other hand, simply call the team the 'wisteria and green,' after the colors of their local flag.

There is a metric ton of other information about the Federation available on the country's NSwiki page, including more on this team and on the country's domestic league. Please feel free to give it a read.

The Queer Poco el Mono Ara squad for the 53rd World Cup.

Coach – Joe Hamburgstein. Led the team to their first World Cup appearance... and then their second. The fans are expecting much of the same, with even more aplomb. Hamburgstein has guaranteed the team will play attractive football and will return to the group stage. Big words.. very big words, but if anyone out there can deliver on their promise it’s Joe Hamburgstein.

Starting XI

GKP. 01. Chris Foster [Valengren Kickers]
The Valengren keeper saw his side slip in the league and runners up in the Trofeo Royal final. His top not performances between the sticks have earned him the title “best keeper in the country”. He’s quick, agile and capable of launching the ball up field for quick counter attacks.

RB. 02. George Webo [Qasarian Sparta]
Webo has developed into a superb right back. He’s a graduate of the Augustus academy and has been amongst the international selection since debuting in the DBC. His strong tackling and his attacking prowess caught the eye of Somewhereistonian club Qasarian Sparta, where he has been for some time now.

LB. 03. Rigobert Webo [Wexwick]
This may be the 33 year olds last involvement in a World Cup squad. He’s been a stalwart left back since his first inclusion. He’s still got some pace and can bomb up and down the wings adding to the White’s attacking options.

CM. 04. Hank Layfield [Athletic Khaldoon]
21 year old Layfield makes his national debut after a strong season long performance for Athletic Khaldoon, he’s been linked with a move to champions Ajax Khaldoon who looking to strengthen and the young lad may be just the ticket.

CB. 05. Rudolpho [Raynor City United] Captain*
The former under 21’s captain has taken the helm of the full team after slipping in and out of the team. Plays for Vanorian club Raynor City United, where he has won the premiership and silver cup. Life among the elves has done him wonders as he looks stronger, faster and fitter than ever before.

CB. 06. Mercutio Vegas [Pythons]
The former under 21’s player is now amongst the Pythons starting back four. He replaces Ahmed Khan alongside Rudolpho and will want to make the position his. He’s tall and powerful and distributes the wall well from the back.

RM. 07. Hugo Anderson [Eldorado]
The one constant in this team and yet to turn 30. He’s fast, agile, and has a bag of tricks up his sleeve. Expect him to be more provider than goal scorer, unless it’s a freekick, he’s likely to shove his way to the front of the queue to take it.

CM. 08 Jordi [Royal Khaldoon]
Began his career as a right winger but shifted into the centre by club boss Adboulaye Soro. He has since flourished in the middle having the chance to exhibit come of his natural flair. He’ll be playing just behind the attackers and will be looking to have a go at goal himself.

FWD . 09. Enrico Dosenna [SC Lasft]
First choice attacker, essentially he’s a box predator; age has taken its toll on his pace but he’s still a natural goal scorer. He’s quite good at this now having been playing this position for a number of years. He’ll be 34 come the end of this campaign and is likely to hang up his international boots.

FWD. 10. Joe McCarthy [Ajax Khaldoon II]
Top goal scorer of the league champions and a huge part in all the recent history. Has been heavily involved in all that history through his goal scoring prowess. He’s a bullish player and will throw his weight around to get near the goal.

LM. 11. Nakiti Shapiro [Augustus]
The Augustus midfielder hasn’t had the best of seasons but he’s still the most talented left footer in the Pocoan league. He’s an attacking threat and good with a dead ball.

Substitutes

RM. 12. Aaron Wilkshire [Tyrrin Royale]
The midfielder retains his place in the team. Quality or pure class and a great guy to boot.

GKP. 13. Aruna Traore [Augustus]
The young keeper spent most of last season on the Augustus bench, playing only 10 games all season. He needs some experience and may just get some amongst the national team.

CB. 14. Jeffrey Onyewu [Belle-Isle on Sea]
Just won the League I title with Belle-Isle thanks to number of goals scored. He’s an enormous talent and a huge lad.

FWD. 15. Gilbert Batistuta [Ridgemont Town]
Great player to have on the bench, when you need fresh legs up front.

DM. 16. Graham Potter [Augustus]
The midfielder’s still one of the best young players in QPeMA, he’s a hard hitter for the central midfield if ever they need one.

Reserves

17. DEF. Manny La Paglia – Ajax Khaldoon II
18. DEF. Joel Craddock – Athletic Khaldoon
19. MID. Rowan Askwith – Ajax Khaldoon II
20. STR. Vijay Kandakram – Skyte City
21. MID. Hank Layfield – Athletic Khaldoon
22. GKP. Fabien Fabianski – Skyte City
23. STR. Emile Karembeu – Ajax Khaldoon II

The Champions of the 40th Baptism of Fire tournament look set for a great showing in their first World Cup appearance. The team, being placed into Group 6, go up against powerhouse Osarius and Warkus. However, the newfound champions should have a trick or two up their sleeves.

Alversian Football Squad for World Cup 53

Coach:
This will be Michael Dawson's first tournament in charge of the Alversian national team and has been given the unenviable task of attempting to make it past the qualifying stages for the first time in Alversia’s history. A young coach who has enjoyed domestic success with South Passage and Union Bank both as a player and a manager, he will be looking emulate his success on the international stage. To this end, he has overhauled the team and changed the emphasis entirely, preferring a more attacking line-up to Alversia’s previous counter-attacking style. His teams have always been known for fluent and fast football, focusing on one touch passes and patient build ups augmented by speedy counter-attacks and running at players when given space. His tactics have proven successful in the past and there is hope that he will finally be able to bring the Alversian national team some success.

Team:

Gregory Ferguson
Age: 27
Club: River Forge
Position: Goalkeeper
Caps/Goals: 21/0
Gregory Ferguson has been the understudy to Cillian Reid for a long time in the international team despite being a part of the league winning team for three seasons running and being the most expensive goalkeeper in Alversian league history. He hold the record for the most clean sheets in a season while playing for River Forge and his acrobatic grace have won him many fans throughout the country. Renowned for his reflexes and shot-stopping, he has been given nicknames such as ‘The Wall’ and will be a key part of Dawson’s team. Standing at 6’3’’ he has a commanding presence within his area and makes sure the opposition knows it.

Graham Barker
Age: 25
Club: Union Bank
Position: Right Back
Caps/Goals: 17/0
Union Bank’s high speed back, Barker has become famous for spending as much time in the opposition half as he does in his own. Very attack-minded, he is a perfect addition to any offensive-geared team, as his crossing and passing ability are unrivalled by any other Right back in the league. However, his defensive abilities are lauded less although he does a competent job, he has been at fault for several goals conceded by Union Bank which cost them the league and cup double. Although he has been established as a regular player in the team, it is unknown how he will cope with the pressure.

Samuel Hutton (Captain)
Age: 31
Club: River Forge
Position: Centre Back
Caps/Goals: 72/1
Hutton is one of Alversia’s most outstanding and long lasting defenders over the past decade and a half. Playing in centre back for River Forge, he made his debut against Kitesall at the age of 17 and has been a regular player since. He has amassed nearly 500 league appearances for his club and is considered the quintessential defender, he possesses both speed and strength, while his experience shows in the manner he guides his defensive line. A rock at the back, his only real weakness is that he is not as strong in the air as many other defenders and his often lets him down when playing against teams with powerful or tall strikers. Regardless of this, Hutton has been an essential part of River Forge for most of his career and Alversia has been no different.

Robert Parker
Age: 27
Club: River Forge
Position: Centre Back
Caps/Goals: 43/0
Hutton’s long term partner at River Forge since arriving five seasons ago from Ashdown United, Parker has been strong where his fellow defender has been weak and vice versa. Although powerful in the tackle and virtually unbeatable in the air, he has been exposed with a lack of pace over the years and this has only decreased as time has gone on, suffering from the effects of some long term injuries which kept him out for most of River Forge’s successful third season. An uncompromising player, he has been at the centre of some crunching tackles in the league and this has drawn some questions about wither or not he deserves a place on the internation team. Michael Dawson has stuck with him however and he is determined to prove himself on the highest level.

James Mallon
Age: 21
Club: South Passage
Position: Left Back
Caps/Goals: 8/0
Mallon is the youngest member of the Alversian backline although he is certainly far from inexperienced. He has started for South Passage since he was 16 and is capable of playing both in left back and left midfield, although not as aggressive as Barker when going forward, Mallon prefers to pick his moments and to drift into space on the wing before launching in a floating cross or firing a stinging shot towards goal. An excellent all round player with no real weaknesses, Mallon has had to wait to be called up by an international manager, who have always preferred to go with more experienced left backs.

Danny Williamson
Age: 23
Club: River Forge
Position: Defensive Central Midfielder
Caps/Goals: 16/1
Danny Williamson is another defensive player from the highly defensive and highly successful River Forge team which won three titles in a row. A strong but fast player, he sits just in front of the back four and likes to break up attacks as they come through midfield. As a result, he rarely leaves the midfield when attacking and prefers to launch the ball up to more attacking players whenever possible. He is comfortable on the ball and his long range passing is superb but he is much more comfortable being the defensive rock of the midfield and allowing others to break forward off his defensive work.

Ian Cartwright
Age: 24
Club: Ashdown United
Position: Centre Midfielder
Caps/Goals: 26/2
A centre midfielder for perennial underachievers Ashdown United, Cartwright has built himself a reputation as being a skilful and capable winger and central midfielder and he often plays as both with his club team. A skillfull player on the ball and a capable passer and tackler, he lacks in pace but makes up for it in strength on the ball, often being able to bull his way down the wings in the face of smaller midfielders attempting to take the ball from him before he crosses or finishes himself. Valued more for his quick feet and quick mind, he is an essential part of Dawson’s quick attacking football as he is capable of offensive and defensive contributions.

Michael Barton
Age: 19
Club: Detrick
Position: Centre Midfielder
Caps/Goals: 6/0
Barton has been called up for the national team following a successful breakthrough season for Detrick in the league, helping the team achieve a top ten finish for the first time in a decade. A slight player but powerful despite his disadvantage in size, the player’s main attribute is his blistering pace and skilful touch which made him the tormentor of many defensives in the league. Weak in the air but more than making up for it with his speed down the line, his enjoys nothing more than running at defenders and beating them with quick feet and silky ball control before lobbing the ball into the box or unleashing a shot towards goal.

Lewis Murray
Age: 25
Club: Ashdown United
Position: Striker
Caps/Goals: 42/14
A tall and powerful striker, Dunmurray is the star player for Ashdown United and the club’s all time top scorer as well a second in the league for the season previous. The ideal target man, Dunmurray is unrivalled in the air although he is capable of shooting with both feet as well. A strong player who uses his strength to hold off defenders while playing in supporting teammates, Dunmurray sets up as many goals as he scores, although he will look for the shot at any oppurtunity

Richard Hamill
Age: 21
Club: River Forge
Position: Striker
Caps/Goals: 21/12
A young talent discovered and natured by the River Forge Youth Academy before breaking into the first team this year to become the team’s top scorer, Hamill has already demonstrated a lethal eye for goal which belies his young years. A fast and mobile attacker, Hamill prefers to play off the shoulder of the last man and break the offside trap with a lungbusting run that very few defenders are able to cope with. Failing this, he is more than willing to fall back into an attacking midfielder role, playing the ball forward to his fellow strikers. Using his pace to run at defenders and cause problems, his mere presence often causes chaos in the backline of many teams.

Martin Kelly
Age: 27
Club: Sandon Rovers
Position: Striker
Caps/Goals: 52/19
Martin Kelly is the all-round striker, a blend of strength, speed and skill with a lethal eye for finishing that has seen him as Sandon Rover’s top scorer for the past five seasons. An efficient finisher at club level, Kelly has been relegated more to the support role under previous managers while playing for Alversia, although Dawson has seen fit to once again play him as an out and out striker for his national side. This role is where he feels more comfortable and more able to use his intelligence to read a match and find the space necessary for a goal. He often tears defences apart with his runs and finishing.
