HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - TENTH SEASON (PART II OF IV)

Apertura Tournament

MD11:

Fontvielle Impact 2-2 Metropolis Alligators
FC Fauxham 2-1 Valencia FC
Slateport Bulls 0-1 SC Caimanes
Chiquito FC 2-1 Nacional
Nord Energie FC 2-0 AS Vaud
Marinos Metropolis 3-1 Eterna Stars
Tannenberg FC 0-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
Pradera FC 2-0 Canalave Dragons
AS Bezieres 2-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
AD Cerro 4-0 Ajax Carloburgo

Congratulations to Caimanes and Olympique on being the only teams able to win out of their home in this matchday. And these congratulations are double if we bear in mind that these two won their matches in Slateport and Carloburgo, respectively, tough stadia for visitor teams. In other news, Marinos is still on the lead, the Alligators only managed to draw with the Impact, while Bezieres is now in second place. Also, after 11 matches, Fauxham got their first victory in the Super League. Nord Energie and Olympique are still enjoying inside the Top-10, both replacing “Alligators” and “Citizens”.

MD12:

Valencia FC 0-2 Fontvielle Impact
Metropolis Alligators 1-1 SC Caimanes
Nacional 4-1 FC Fauxham
AS Vaud 1-1 Slateport Bulls
Eterna Stars 3-1 Chiquito FC
Tannenberg FC 1-1 Nord Energie FC
Canalave Dragons 2-2 Marinos Metropolis
Olympique de Fontvielle 4-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
Pradera FC 1-0 Ajax Carloburgo
AS Bezieres 2-1 AD Cerro

Despite only being able to draw in Canalave, Marinos are still in first place with 26 points, but the pressure exerted by Bezieres, the Impact and now Olympique de Fontvielle is stronger than never, and especially if we remember that the Mariners have not faced neither Bezieres nor the Olympique yet. As for the other teams, both Tannenberg and the MA drew their matches, while Slateport is sinking in the lower part of the standings.

MD13:

Fontvielle Impact 0-0 SC Caimanes
Valencia FC 2-1 Nacional
Metropolis Alligators 1-0 AS Vaud
FC Fauxham 1-2 Eterna Stars
Slateport Bulls 5-0 Tannenberg FC
Chiquito FC 1-1 Canalave Dragons
Nord Energie FC 1-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
Ajax Carloburgo 1-2 Marinos Metropolis
AD Cerro 1-0 Olympique de Fontvielle
Pradera FC 0-2 AS Bezieres

It seems that the head-to-head between Marinos and Bezieres for the top of the standings is going to start to be defined the next week when they face each one. Fontvielle Impact, who come from a disappointing scoreless draw with Caimanes, Eterna Stars and even Olympique could take advantage of that showdown in Metropolis in order to exert more pressure over “Mariners” and “Rouges”. This seems to be the first Apertura without the Alligators inside the Top-5 at least...

MD14:

Nacional 3-2 Fontvielle Impact
AS Vaud 1-1 SC Caimanes
Eterna Stars 3-0 Valencia FC
Tannenberg FC 0-1 Metropolis Alligators
Canalave Dragons 1-1 FC Fauxham
Hamanos Athletic Club 1-1 Slateport Bulls
Chiquito FC 1-0 Ajax Carloburgo
Nord Energie FC 1-0 AD Cerro
Marinos Metropolis 0-0 AS Bezieres
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-0 Pradera FC

The most expected match for this matchday, between Marinos and Bezieres, was not what we thought. It was one of the most boring matches of the season, but Fontvielle’s loss to Nacional (in Metropolis, as well…) keeps things at the top as they were. Eterna Stars and Olympique are benefited with these two results, while the Alligators opened the gates of hell to Tannenberg, who are just six points clear of the relegation zone.

MD15:

Fontvielle Impact 0-1 AS Vaud
Nacional 1-1 Eterna Stars
SC Caimanes 2-1 Tannenberg FC
Valencia FC 2-2 Canalave Dragons
Hamanos Athletic Club 1-2 Metropolis Alligators
Ajax Carloburgo 2-1 FC Fauxham
Slateport Bulls 1-0 AD Cerro
Chiquito FC 2-1 AS Bezieres
Nord Energie FC 2-1 Pradera FC
Marinos Metropolis 4-2 Olympique de Fontvielle

The 4-2 victory over Olympique de Fontvielle, and the loss of Bezieres in Chiquito allow Marinos to remain in first place with 33 points, doing an outstanding campaign. AS Vaud shocked everyone after they defeated the champions at the Stade de l’Amitié, while Metropolis Alligators and Nord Energie enter in the fight for the TQCC berth and Tannenberg sinks in its crisis.

MD16:

Eterna Stars 2-1 Fontvielle Impact
Tannenberg FC 4-1 AS Vaud
Canalave Dragons 2-0 Nacional
Hamanos Athletic Club 2-1 SC Caimanes
Valencia FC 0-2 Ajax Carloburgo
AD Cerro 1-4 Metropolis Alligators
AS Bezieres 5-1 FC Fauxham
Pradera FC 1-1 Slateport Bulls
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-0 Chiquito FC
Marinos Metropolis 0-2 Nord Energie FC

It’s SHOCK TIME! Marinos lost their long unbeaten streak after their loss to Nord Energie in Metropolis. Eterna Stars and AS Bezieres approached Marinos with their victories over Fontvielle Impact and Fauxham, respectively, and Nord Energie, Olympique and "Lazarus" (Metropolis Alligators) get closer and closer. Tannenberg take a little break, while Hamanos, Valencia and Fauxham sink into the relegation zone.

MD17:

Fontvielle Impact 0-1 Tannenberg FC
Eterna Stars 2-0 Canalave Dragons
AS Vaud 0-1 Hamanos Athletic Club
Nacional 5-1 Ajax Carloburgo
SC Caimanes 1-0 AD Cerro
Valencia FC 1-2 AS Bezieres
Metropolis Alligators 2-3 Pradera FC
FC Fauxham 1-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
Slateport Bulls 0-0 Marinos Metropolis
Chiquito FC 1-1 Nord Energie FC

Bezieres are finally on the top, after winning in Valencia and the draw in the Blue Derby between Slateport and Marinos. The Stars are also in the fight, and Nord Energie and Olympique are in problems to try and catch the Top-3. As for the Alligators and their shocking loss to Pradera at the Dome: thanks for competing, the next Clausura is the perfect for you. Same goes to the “champions” (who won’t be able to win the Apertura with only 26 points) and Tannenberg.

MD18:

Canalave Dragons 0-1 Fontvielle Impact
Hamanos Athletic Club 3-1 Tannenberg FC
Ajax Carloburgo 1-2 Eterna Stars
AD Cerro 1-3 AS Vaud
AS Bezieres 3-1 Nacional
Pradera FC 0-2 SC Caimanes
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-1 Valencia FC
Marinos Metropolis 1-4 Metropolis Alligators
Nord Energie FC 1-0 FC Fauxham
Chiquito FC 1-1 Slateport Bulls

AS Bezieres and Eterna Stars are the only teams with chance to win the Apertura and earn the right to be the first valladar team qualified to the TQCC. And they face each other in the last matchday…how interesting! Marinos, who were leading the Apertura for a long time, lost their chances after being thrashed by their old arch-rivals: Metropolis Alligators, who will have to wait for the next Clausura for a berth in the TQCC. We have only one matchday remaining and a true final waiting for us.

MD19:

Some matches of no importance at all, all played on Saturday evening...

Fontvielle Impact 2-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
Canalave Dragons 2-2 Ajax Carloburgo
Tannenberg FC 0-1 AD Cerro
AS Vaud 1-0 Pradera FC
Nacional 1-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
SC Caimanes 0-0 Marinos Metropolis
Valencia FC 2-0 Nord Energie FC
Metropolis Alligators 1-0 Chiquito FC
FC Fauxham 1-5 Slateport Bulls

And the “final”, played on Sunday:

Eterna Stars 1-0 AS Bezieres

This Apertura was totally different to the last three or four. Despite Marinos started showing themselves as a powerful team, even humiliating the last season’s champions, the Stars were this time the Apertura winners and will return to the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup after seven seasons. Oh, and special mentions to Nord Energie FC and Olympique de Fontvielle due to their excellent campaigns this Apertura. Keep it up! And, here are the standings:

Top team from each league qualifies for the Qasarian Bank All-Ansernia Islands Championship to decide the national champions and TQCC qualifiers. The Hibernean champions play in the semi-final against whichever of the Inisealan or Westernean champions gets the lower average points per game during the league, whilst the one with the higher average gets a bye to the final. Last season Hiberney caused something of a shock by making it to and winning the final. No such luck this season, though Iniseala did need extra-time to make it past them in an epic semi-final. A closely fought final saw the Inisealan side come out on top to complete a season of domination for the island.

THE MEDICAL CUP GAMES

After so many seasons hiding the results of the football games in the medical games from public view, the Landau Institute has finally decided to reveal the scores of this nearly meaningless competition, as it is only a single event in the middle of an Olympics-type tournament involving other events more related with medicine, as the dyagnosis against the clock and the precise surgery, between others. But as the cup gives the TQCC and GC places of Estresse Intenso, it ended not being entirely unimportant. So, just some notes before the results:

- only teams strictly related with medical practices can participate in the medical cup games (eliminating this way teams like for example Security, Patients, University Workers, Monks, Administrators and even others like Nutritionists, Dentists and Pharmacists which are closer to what is needed)

- only the 32 best ranked teams in the league's previous season are allowed to join (and participate through a seeded draw)

- the cup involves only knockout rounds (single leg)

FACTIONS' CUP OF ESTRESSE INTENSO

While the Medical Games decide the TQCC/GC spots, the newly formet Factions' Cup determinates the SBCC spots. As the war in Estresse Intenso grows bigger, it becomes even more difficult for teams of different factions to face each other in football games. Therefore, this pre-season cup makes the teams play only against other teams of the same general faction, even though these are still rivals of one another. In the end, the champions of each cup go to the SBCC, with the preference order defined by the faction's performance in the last season - only the best 8 of each factions' division get to the cup. By the way, companies can apply to join (or those already in can ask to leave) the Office Buildings' league, the same with the Foreigners' division, which will accept teams of foreigners.

THE JOWENGUARD CROWN
Pre-Season competition to decide teams for International Competitions

After seasons choosing the teams to be directed to the TQCC, Globe Cup and SBCC through mysterious ways (although most followed a criteria, which changed once or twice), the CCFM finally decided to create a new competition in order to choose the teams to go to the international competitions to be played before the end of the Cafundelense season. In homage to the former president of the CCFM, Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard, the new competition was named the Jowenguard Crown. Played before the official beginning of the new season, is composed by some knockout rounds, involving teams which had good performances in the previous season: be those in the league or in the cup. The competition is divided in two "areas": the TQCC/GC and the SBCC, the winners of each one meeting in the final game to decide the Crown.

The first edition showed that the competition is a pure mess when deciding which teams would participate and which would be its format, and the CCFM directors proved that they are completely useless by repeating the same format and continuing with the mess involving this competition... the same lazyness that makes the people writing this to not update the introduction that has been always the same. For the TQCC/GC area, the 12 best teams of the league were qualified (11, as the champion is already in the TQCC), a small change from previous editions in which the 7 best were called, together with the semifinalists of the last Empress Cup, and the last champion of the Second Division. Current First Division league champions (América in this case) wouldn't participate in the Jowenguard Crown and would receive an automatic TQCC spot. Of course, there were cases of a team qualifying in both league and cup criteria. But, in these cases, no substitute would be called.

Seeds for the TQCC/GC area are the following: League 2nd (1st), Cup Winners (2nd), then the qualified through the league (3rd - 11th), those qualified through the cup (12th and 13th) and last the current Second Division champion (which qualified through the cup this time). Top ranked teams receive byes whenever necessary for the numbers.

Former champions:

Edition 1 - Ranca Toco
Edition 2 - Petardos S/A
Edition 3 - Petardos S/A
Edition 4 - Atlético Jutense
Edition 5 - Cafundó do Juta
Edition 6 - Cafundó do Juta

See the results of the TQCC/GC area:

First Round:

(4th) Ranca Toco 3-1 São Jorge (13th)
(5th) Clube Comercial 4-0 Atlético Central (12th)
(6th) Porto Lacruz 2-0 Atlético Insular (11th)
(7th) Eldorado 1-1 SC Lasft (10th)
Penalties: 4-2
(8th) Atlético Jutense 3-1 Rio Bonito (9th)

Quarterfinals:

(1st) Dunboor FC 1-0 Atlético Jutense (8th)
(2nd) Cafundó do Juta 5-2 Eldorado (7th)
(3rd) Petardos S/A 3-0 Porto Lacruz (6th)
(4th) Ranca Toco 2-3 Clube Comercial (5th)

Globe Cup playoff (winners go to GC):

(4th) Ranca Toco 2-2 Atlético Jutense (8th)
Penalties: 3-2
(6th) Porto Lacruz 1-2 Eldorado (7th)

Semifinals:

(1st) Dunboor FC 3-1 Clube Comercial (5th)
(2nd) Cafundó do Juta 2-4 Petardos S/A (3rd)

TQCC Playoff (winner goes to TQCC/loser to Globe Cup):

(2nd) Cafundó do Juta 1-0 Clube Comercial (5th)

Area Final (both qualified for TQCC):

(1st) Dunboor FC 0-0 Petardos S/A (3rd)
Penalties: 3-5

For the SBCC area, there is more organization, and it is easier to get which teams were qualified to play the competition and its format. There were no automatic SBCC spots, and fourteen teams were called, among relegated teams from the First Division in the last season, teams from the Second Division and last season's best Third Division teams. Of course, all of them are now in the Second Division.

The seeds are: last season's 17th placed at Division 1 (1st), 18th/Div1 (2nd), 19th/Div1 (3rd), 20th/Div1 (4th), top 8 not promoted of last season's Division 2 (5th - 12th), last season's Division 3 champions (13th) and last season's Division 3 runner-ups (14th). The first and second seeds enter only in the second round (quarterfinals).

See the results:

First Round:

(7th) Cruzeiro do Sul 1-2 Coríntios Jutense (10th)
(8th) Serrano 3-2 União Trabalhadora (9th)

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - TENTH SEASON (PART III OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD1:

Ajax Carloburgo 0-6 Fontvielle Impact
AD Cerro 1-1 Hamanos Athletic Club
AS Bezieres 4-1 Canalave Dragons
Pradera FC 0-2 Tannenberg FC
Olympique de Fontvielle 2-3 Eterna Stars
Marinos Metropolis 2-2 AS Vaud
Nord Energie FC 0-2 Nacional
Chiquito FC 2-1 SC Caimanes
Slateport Bulls 2-0 Valencia FC
FC Fauxham 0-4 Metropolis Alligators

The Clausura started, and almost all the favorites to the title won: the Stars, Apertura champions, won over one of the Apertura surprises: Olympique de Fontvielle, the Impact thrashed Ajax again, the MA won in Fauxham and Bezieres, Tannenberg and Slateport also started with victories. Chiquito won the “Chiquito Derby” again, while Marinos was only able to draw with Vaud at home.

MD2:

Fontvielle Impact 1-2 AD Cerro
AS Bezieres 2-0 Ajax Carloburgo
Hamanos Athletic Club 0-1 Pradera FC
Canalave Dragons 2-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
Tannenberg FC 0-1 Marinos Metropolis
Eterna Stars 1-0 Nord Energie FC
AS Vaud 1-2 Chiquito FC
Nacional 2-1 Slateport Bulls
SC Caimanes 2-2 FC Fauxham
Metropolis Alligators 1-0 Valencia FC

Five teams are leading the Clausura with 6 points after two matches: Bezieres, the Alligators, Eterna Stars, Nacional and Chiquito, who have had a strong start. Olympique and Nord Energie lost their second match in this Clausura, while Pradera’s victory over their rivals Hamanos sends Ajax to the relegation zone.

MD3:

AS Bezieres 1-0 Fontvielle Impact
Pradera FC 0-0 AD Cerro
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-1 Ajax Carloburgo
Marinos Metropolis 1-2 Hamanos Athletic Club
Nord Energie FC 2-0 Canalave Dragons
Chiquito FC 1-3 Tannenberg FC
Slateport Bulls 0-2 Eterna Stars
FC Fauxham 0-2 AS Vaud
Nacional 3-3 Metropolis Alligators
Valencia FC 0-3 SC Caimanes

“Rouges” and “Stars” are the sole leaders in this Clausura with 9 out of 9 points, after Chiquito’s loss to Tannenberg, and the draw between Nacional and Metropolis Alligators, both now escorting Bezieres and Eterna with 7 points each. Hamanos won against Marinos in Metropolis and Nord Energie beat the Dragons, who are now trying to avoid relegation. Ajax’s failure to defeat Olympique keeps Canalave Dragons in the 17th place in the relegation standings, just one point clear of the Inmigrants. Valencia lost their third match in a row in this Clausura, while Fauxham lost the meaning of the word “victory”.

MD4:

Fontvielle Impact 0-0 Pradera FC
AS Bezieres 2-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
AD Cerro 0-4 Marinos Metropolis
Ajax Carloburgo 1-1 Nord Energie FC
Hamanos Athletic Club 1-1 Chiquito FC
Canalave Dragons 0-1 Slateport Bulls
Tannenberg FC 2-1 FC Fauxham
Metropolis Alligators 0-3 Eterna Stars
AS Vaud 0-1 Valencia FC
SC Caimanes 1-3 Nacional

Bezieres and Eterna Stars are still at the top of the standings with perfect record (4 played, 4 won, 12 points), with “Les Rouges” wanting to return to the TQCC, while the Stars want their second national title. Speaking of Eterna, their most recent victim were the Alligators, who were beaten by the Stars at the Dome in one of the National Derbies. Nacional is the other unbeaten team, with 3 victories and a draw. Fontvielle Impact are having a bad start, while Canalave’s loss allowed Ajax to level them at least in points.

MD5:

Olympique de Fontvielle 1-0 Fontvielle Impact
Marinos Metropolis 0-4 Pradera FC
Nord Energie FC 0-2 AS Bezieres
Chiquito FC 0-2 AD Cerro
Slateport Bulls 5-1 Ajax Carloburgo
FC Fauxham 2-1 Hamanos Athletic Club
Canalave Dragons 2-4 Metropolis Alligators
Valencia FC 0-2 Tannenberg FC
SC Caimanes 1-1 Eterna Stars
Nacional 1-1 AS Vaud

Bezieres took advantage of Eterna’s draw in Campo Grande to claim the first place in the Clausura, being the only team with all their matches counted as victories. Tannenberg is now third, with 12 points, and Nacional and the MA are next. Marinos was humiliatingly beaten by Pradera, while the Dragons and Ajax are waging their battle to avoid relegation.

MD6:

Fontvielle Impact 0-1 Marinos Metropolis
Nord Energie FC 1-1 Olympique de Fontvielle
Pradera FC 1-1 Chiquito FC
AS Bezieres 2-1 Slateport Bulls
FC Fauxham 0-2 AD Cerro
Metropolis Alligators 0-1 Ajax Carloburgo
Hamanos Athletic Club 0-1 Valencia FC
Canalave Dragons 0-4 SC Caimanes
Tannenberg FC 1-3 Nacional
Eterna Stars 3-0 AS Vaud

Bezieres’ sixth victory allows them to keep the first place of this Clausura, with two points clear of the Stars, who are in second place. The last season champions’, Fontvielle Impact are in crisis, Metropolis Alligators allowed Ajax to get out of the relegation zone, while Canalave Dragons enter in their place. Two GC spots seem to go to the Metropolis’ Big teams, while the other one and the AFI spot are open between Nacional, Nord Energie, Olympique and Caimanes.

MD7:

Nord Energie FC 0-3 Fontvielle Impact
Chiquito FC 1-0 Marinos Metropolis
Olympique de Fontvielle 0-1 Slateport Bulls
FC Fauxham 0-1 Pradera FC
Metropolis Alligators 0-2 AS Bezieres
Valencia FC 0-2 AD Cerro
Ajax Carloburgo 2-2 SC Caimanes
Nacional 2-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
AS Vaud 2-3 Canalave Dragons
Eterna Stars 2-2 Tannenberg FC

Bezieres’ victory over one of their bitterest rivals allowed them to keep the first place in this Clausura, with the Stars giving away more points and Nacional trying to keep the pressure over “Les Rouges”. Fontvielle Impact won for the first time since the 6-0 over Ajax in Matchday 1, while Canalave’s victory and Ajax’s draw, both combined with Hamanos’ loss to Nacional, send the HAC to the relegation zone.

MD8:

Fontvielle Impact 4-1 Chiquito FC
Nord Energie FC 0-2 Slateport Bulls
FC Fauxham 5-1 Marinos Metropolis
Metropolis Alligators 0-0 Olympique de Fontvielle
Pradera FC 1-0 Valencia FC
AS Bezieres 0-0 SC Caimanes
AD Cerro 1-0 Nacional
Ajax Carloburgo 2-1 AS Vaud
Hamanos Athletic Club 0-1 Eterna Stars
Canalave Dragons 0-2 Tannenberg FC

Bezieres’ winning streak ended with a scoreless draw with Caimanes, while the Stars get closer to the first place with their victory in Hamanos Town. The weak Fauxham stuns Marinos with a painful 5-1, Metropolis Alligators, Nord Energie, Olympique and Fontvielle Impact are doing bad campaigns, while Ajax sinks both Canalave and Hamanos in the red zone…

MD9:

Slateport Bulls 1-0 Fontvielle Impact
FC Fauxham 0-2 Chiquito FC
Nord Energie FC 1-0 Metropolis Alligators
Marinos Metropolis 3-1 Valencia FC
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-1 SC Caimanes
Nacional 1-3 Pradera FC
AS Vaud 0-2 AS Bezieres
Eterna Stars 4-0 AD Cerro
Tannenberg FC 2-0 Ajax Carloburgo
Canalave Dragons 0-0 Hamanos Athletic Club

Things have not changed in the Clausura. "Les Rouges" and the "Stars" are still in first and second place, respectively, while Tannenberg FC, Slateport Bulls and…Pradera FC are in pursue of the leaders. The fight for the UICA spots in the Overall Standings is hotter than ever, with nine teams fighting for three spots in the next Globe Cup, and one spot in the AFI. The Dragons and the HAC tied, complicating their situation, while Ajax fails to increase the difference with their rivals.

MD10:

Fontvielle Impact 4-1 FC Fauxham
Metropolis Alligators 3-1 Slateport Bulls
Chiquito FC 1-1 Valencia FC
Nord Energie FC 0-0 SC Caimanes
Nacional 2-0 Marinos Metropolis
Olympique de Fontvielle 2-0 AS Vaud
Pradera FC 0-2 Eterna Stars
AS Bezieres 1-1 Tannenberg FC
AD Cerro 3-0 Canalave Dragons
Ajax Carloburgo 1-1 Hamanos Athletic Club

After 10 matches in this Clausura, Eterna Stars and AS Bezieres share the lead with 26 points. The “Stars” and "Les Rouges" have not lost any match so far, and they are the strongest candidates for the Clausura title, and therefore, the second valladar spot in the TQCC. With six points less than them, we have Tannenberg FC, Nacional and AD Cerro, who are trying to keep up with the leaders. The fight for the GC spots will be between eight teams: the Alligators, Marinos, Nacional, Fontvielle Impact, Slateport Bulls, Olympique, Tannenberg and Nord Energie. As for the relegation zone, Fauxham, Valencia and the Dragons have the first option to be relegated to the B-League. But Hamanos, Vaud and Ajax are not saved yet. Their future will depend on what they can do in their last nine matches in the Clausura.

Vephrall lost a TQCC berth this year and now qualifies just two teams to the competition. As a result, that fifth-place tiebreaker turns out to be very important. Mylfe's 2-1-1 record against Huellim and Stestrenas matched Huellim's 2-1-1 record against Mylfe and Stestrenas; the two each won the home leg of the season series, but Mylfe's 3-1 victory compared with Huellim's 1-0 gave Mylfe the edge and a spot in the Globe Cup.

Rumor has it that Televeph League officials considered sending Flaarickug directly down to League 4 after this disaster, but they ultimately decided to be merciful.

The Série A campaign as finally begun. So as to not spam the forum up with every single round of the tournament I will suggest you follow it at the website in my signature, but I will recap round 1 here for you. Don't worry, this is the only individual round that will get it's own post.

Cosmopolitan 1-4 Cap Nordique
(Matis 19', Price 33', Jensen 71', Desrosiers 76', Jensen 90')
Cap Nordique's fans love getting to take on the big Albionpool clubs, but it's hard to say that the fans of Cosmos return the favour- the sea of blue and yellow at Stade Cosmopolitan almost made this feel like an away match for the capital side- and their play matched it. Cosmos came out flat as the Vikings dominated possession early on, and capped it off with Didier Matis opening his Viking goal scoring account. Alex Price did the same for Cosmo to level it 12 minutes later to keep it tied at the break.

Cosmo's best run of play was actually immediately after they returned for the 2nd half, getting a few strong chances, but after the superstar Jesper Jensen scored off a counter in the 71st, the capital side were supremely deflated, and Cap had their way with them, scoring again just moments later as sub Serge Desrosiers netted a blast from beyond the 18 yard box, and then in stoppage time Jensen netted a second in a clever bit of one-two with Alex Fortuna.

Laval 1-0 Dominion
(Tennant 40')
Exciting first home win for the newly promoted side. Dominion's 3 man midfield had huge trouble holding onto the ball for any stretch of time, excellent work by Laval's Poconese defensive midfielder Ruud Seedoorf in neutralising most of the Dominion attacks. Nathan Tennant's goal was actually a howler by the Dominion keeper, Zacharie Lefebvre, who then became an easy target for the Lavalois crowd.

Late in the match Étienne Bromont made a peculiar choice, using subs to go from a 4-3-3 to a 4-5-1 to try to regain possession, but it didn't really work. This was not Huw Rhys-Evans' strongest game, even when it did, missing a sitter in his only chance of the match.

Chambly 2-1 Sainte-Catherine
(Brocard 78', Walker 84', Le Tallec 88')
Huge shocker in Brewtown, as the Saints, the hot pick of many pundits to win it all this season, went down in their opener to unfashionable Chambly. It was unfortunate for Saints, as they held possession for much of the match, but had a terrible time converting- Ragnish Parekh was brought in for that purpose but he seemed disconnected from his teammates and seemed to be running lost prior to his substitution.

Arthur Brocard opened the scoring for Chambly with a dandy run through the centre of the park, and les Brasseurs' second goal was some good positioning by sub Evan Walker to head in a rebound parried by Francis Tellier from a shot by Hec Sosa. The impressive Valladar midfielder Gilbert Le Tallec scored the Saints goal with a smashing left footed volley off a cross by Mehdi, playing 90 minutes for the first time in 7 matches for Saints.

Étoile Rouge 1-2 Montréal
(Castonguay 38', Zedafski 51', Faille 77')
The defending champs got a slight scare at Stade de la rue Acadia, looking frequently like the match would wind up a draw. Montréal were slow out of the gate as the Red Stars tried to work at a very slow tempo, which ironically would have worked to le Tricolore's advantage not so long ago. They however did a good job of getting some of Montréal's less patient players out of position and exploiting them to advance, but they didn't really have the creativity in the final third.

Montréal's traveling support could breathe a sigh of relief in the 38th when Claude Castonguay's header off a corner put them up 1-0, but debutant Zlatko Zedafski blasted an absolute rocket into the top left corner of Thierry Junot's net and gave them a second fright, as the Red Stars again slowed the pace down. However, super sub Montréal new boy Alexandre Faille came to the rescue in the 77th, blazing past Jean-François Lapierre and Junior to slot home the winner.

Sparta 0-1 Tout-Puissant Outremont
(Pratte 4')
Cotdelapoms' most hated club got a huge win, and early on. Saku Pratte scored on a beautiful free kick in just the 4th minute thanks to the hard work of Victor Flavius Kulli's run that drew a rough foul from the Mytannion midfielder Nica Pluzic. Neither side actually worked up much else in a bit of a snooze that nonetheless signified the arrival of this Outremont side.

Celtic 1-0 Maritime
(Fareed 73')
This week's worst player award unfortunately needs to go to Maritime midfielder Tristan Clerc, who looked like a practise cone the way that the Celtic players took turns abusing him before he was mercifully subbed off for Noël Godbout. Celtic basically controlled the flow of this match entirely by keeping it simple and strong off-ball running. Sergi Fareed's goal in the 73th broke a deadlock that could have been broken countless times before, major credit is due to the Maritime keeper Cesar, who made 7 saves.

Série A team of the week:
GK- Tristan Brouilly, Laval- Had the tougher shutout.
D- Rafael Higuain, Tout-Puissant Outremont- Made Helio Teixeira a total non-factor.
D- Kareem W Suarez, Laval- Made his presence felt all over the pitch.
D- Einar Sigurdsson, Cap Nordique- You would have thought Alain Letetre was off with the national team with the way Einar kept him away.
MF- Jesper Jensen, Cap Nordique- The best player in the country, easily, and scored two goals.
MF- Rodrigo Lopez, Celtic- Unlucky not to score, but completely controlled the whole pace of the match.
MF- Victor Flavius Kulli, Tout-Puissant Outremont- Made a series of dazzling runs and passes and proved himself to be no slouch defensively either.
MF- Arthur Brocard, Chambly- Strong, workmanlike, performance disrupting the best midfield in the league.
MF- Ruud Seedoorf, Laval- Best defensive midfielder this week.
F- Claude Castonguay, Montréal- Was a nuisance to the Étoile Rouge defenders, who didn't know how to handle him, forcing Huw Cross to waste a substitution to bring on the equally tall Junior.
F- Didier Matis, Cap Nordique- Was always a good player, will hopefully get more regular time with Cap.

Okay, so no preview, no preamble, no more big-day build up. Just football, pure, sweaty, hardcore football, with balls at feet, balls in the air, balls in faces. The tenth edition of Queer Poco el Mono Ara’s premiere football competition began today in the baking Pocoan summer sun. All three divisions were in action (but we’re only interested in the Una Serie).

Matchday 1

Skyte City 0-2 Augustus
Pythons 0-1 Ridgemont Town
Valengren Kickers 3-0 Jonastown United
Almondvale 1-1 Salaga F.C
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-1 Athletic Khaldoon
1860 Flumineiro 2-3 Royal Khaldoon

Last season’s cup winners Augustus made a bright start to the year with an easy 2-0 victory over Skyte. Sargossan stalwart and fan favorite in these parts of Rushmore Juan Segura opened his Augustus account with a late penalty to seal the victory after Zezinho had given them the lead. Ridgemont made sure Pythons hang-over from last season started bluntly. QPeMA international Gilbert Batistuta scored the only goal to ensure Jackson Pounder’s first competitive game in charge ended in defeat.

Valengren took top spot on day one with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Jonastown. Goals for Gnomo, Laranja and Raulzito made it a good day to be from Cafundeu as the AUGECC owned team walked to victory.

Newbies Ajax Khaldoon may have made a tentative start to their first ever Una Serie game, falling behind after 10 minutes to a Hakan Mendez thunderbolt, but they clawed their way back into the fixture and local hero Joe McCarthy (also of the Pocoan national team) grabbed a brace in front of elated home fans.

There was only one opening day draw between Almondvale and hapless Salaga. Were it not for the goalkeeping heroics of Menakilis Salaga could have been walked over 5 or 6, but the keeper (and man of the match) made a string of fine saves to keep his team in the game after an early Adailton goal.

Champions, Royal, struggled to make an impact on the opening day having to fight off a spirited 1860 team to ensure 3 points. Twice taking the lead and twice being pegged back it took a late Polinski goal to separate the two, allowing Abdoulaye Soro to breathe a breath of relief.

Matchday 2

Valengren Kickers 0-1 Skyte City
Augustus 0-1 Pythons
Ridgemont Town 1-2 Almondvale
Jonastown United 1-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Salaga F.C 1-1 1860 Flumineiro
Athletic Khaldoon 0-0 Royal Khaldoon

Matchday 2 and already Ajax’s fans think they can seal a third league title in as many years. Another 2-1 win took last year’s League I champions to the top of the table and consigned J-Town to bottom spot for another week.

Back in the capital, the four other teams were slogging it out in a pair of derby games with Pythons taking on Augustus and neighbors Athletic hosting Royal. Pythons were the only team of the four to score, winning their game and giving new coach Jackson Pounder a reason to be so cheerful.

Everyone else failed to either win a back to back game or lose another on the trot, making the league table very congested, but we are only 2 games in.

Matchday 3

Skyte City 3-1 Ajax Khaldoon II
Pythons 1-1 Almondvale
Valengren Kickers 0-1 Augustus
1860 Flumineiro 3-2 Ridgemont Town
Royal Khaldoon 1-0 Jonastown United
Athletic Khaldoon 3-0 Salaga F.C

Three weeks with a Khaldoon team on top, but after losing 3-1 to Skyte, it wasn’t Ajax. But Royal, who took top spot after beating Jonastown, who make it three games without a point.

1860 picked up their first three points with a late flurry against Ridgemont, hammering home three in 12 second half minutes, all courtesy of Jesseltonian Younesse Hamzi.

Matchday 4

Royal Khaldoon 5-1 Skyte City
1860 Flumineiro 2-2 Pythons
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-1 Valengren Kickers
Augustus 0-3 Almondvale
Ridgemont Town 2-1 Athletic Khaldoon
Jonastown United 0-0 Salaga F.C

Royal racked up the biggest win of the season so far with a 5-1 drubbing of Skyte, putting them firmly at the top. J-Town picked up their first point, drawing with the consistently woeful Salaga and after being top of the table on day 1, Valengren’s third loss on the bounce put them 2 points above bottom spot.

Matchday 5

Skyte City 2-1 Salaga F.C
Pythons 3-0 Athletic Khaldoon
Valengren Kickers 1-2 Royal Khaldoon
Almondvale 2-0 1860 Flumineiro
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-3 Augustus
Jonastown United 6-1 Ridgemont Town

Holy shit, what was in the Jonastown team’s breakfast. After 4 pretty poor performances, they leapt out of the bottom spot with a 6-1 demolition job of Ridgemont. Somebody finally lit a fuse under these once Globe Cup challengers and now look. Again there were Khaldoon derbies to be had with Augustus hitting Ajax for three and Pythons doing the same to Athletic. Royal also beat last year’s runners up Valengren 2-1 at the Union Sports Stadium.

Matchday 6

Ridgemont Town 0-3 Skyte City
Jonastown United 0-5 Pythons
Salaga F.C 0-2 Valengren Kickers
Athletic Khaldoon 2-0 Almondvale
Royal Khaldoon 1-0 Ajax Khaldoon II
Augustus 2-3 1860 Flumineiro

*confused face* on the back of a 6-1 win, J-Town then slump to a horrendous 5-0 defeat. WTF. Valengren keep Salaga routed to the trap door with a simpler 2-0 win and finally pick up three points after 5 weeks without and Skyte take second place with a 3-0 win over leaky Ridgemont who have shipped 15 goals in 6 games.

Matchday 7

Skyte City 1-0 Pythons
Valengren Kickers 4-0 Ridgemont Town
Almondvale 0-1 Jonastown United
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-0 Salaga F.C
1860 Flumineiro 1-0 Athletic Khaldoon
Royal Khaldoon 2-1 Augustus

Valengren find their goal scoring touch over sinking Ridgemont hitting 4 while Skyte beat former title rivals Pythons to stay second and another win for Ajax shifts them into third.

Matchday 8

Almondvale 2-1 Skyte City
Valengren Kickers 2-0 Pythons
Ridgemont Town 2-0 Ajax Khaldoon II
Jonastown United 1-2 1860 Flumineiro
Salaga F.C 1-1 Royal Khaldoon
Augustus 3-2 Athletic Khaldoon

The topsy-turvy nature of the positions below means Royal’s disappointing draw with table “proper-uppers” Salaga doesn’t budge them from the top spot. Another win for the kickers sees them hit double figures and Ridgemont shrug off their recent god-awful form to pick up three points.

Matchday 9

Skyte City 0-1 1860 Flumineiro
Pythons 4-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Valengren Kickers 2-0 Almondvale
Royal Khaldoon 3-1 Ridgemont Town
Athletic Khaldoon 2-1 Jonastown United
Salaga F.C 2-2 Augustus

Good grief, how did 1860 find themselves in the lofty position of 2nd. After picking up points in 7 of their opening 9 fixtures, that’s how. Another win for the Kickers means they are now closing in on the top of the table, but they still got some chasing to do, with Royal churning out another 3 points. Salaga picked up another point after throwing away a 2 goal lead at home to Augustus.

Matchday 10

Athletic Khaldoon 0-0 Skyte City
Royal Khaldoon 2-2 Pythons
1860 Flumineiro 3-1 Valengren Kickers
Ajax Khaldoon II 3-1 Almondvale
Ridgemont Town 0-0 Salaga F.C
Augustus 2-2 Jonastown United

And just like that 1860 put the brakes on Valengren’s charge with a stunning 3-1 victory. The man, the myth, the legend, Benito Gabrini, whose played right across this top league despite having one of the worst goals to games ratio of any striker in the country scored twice as 1860 maintained their second place.

Pythons faced off with Royal for the first time this season with neither side able to draw first blood. Neither manager looked dissatisfied and shared a congratulatory pat on the back after the final whistle.

Matchday 11

Skyte City 0-2 Jonastown United
Pythons 2-1 Salaga F.C
Valengren Kickers 1-3 Athletic Khaldoon
Almondvale 2-1 Royal Khaldoon
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-1 1860 Flumineiro
Ridgemont Town 4-1 Augustus

Huzzah! Huzzah? Ridgemont, oft big losers during this early stage of the year have shown they know where the net is – beating Augustus 4-1. Salaga’s spree of three points in three games was cut short thanks to Malak forward Dmitri Zukava scoring twice in extra time when Pythons looked doomed to be beaten by the team at the bottom of the league. After going 4 games without, Miguel da Rossa’s Athletic team remembered what winning was with an away victory over Valengren who must be fuming after Royal lost to Almondvale.

Time to look at the league table as it stands. Champions Royal sit top, followed by 1860 Flumineiro – which is resulting in so wide mouthed gawping in disbelief. 4 points separate third and ninth, which means at the moment anyone could be playing Globe Cup football next year. Salaga remain relegation fodder, bottom with 6 points and new boys Ajax Khaldoon find themselves comfortably in 5th… winning 5… losing 5….odd sequence of numbers….

Sportgirls University

The tiny city-state of Sportgirls has only one university with two colleges. They traditionally play off for the University Cup in a weekly series of indefinite length, first to two wins claiming the cup.

This year, the University decided to send the Cup winners to the IUCC for the first time. Queen's College defeated the Academy of Sciences in four matches, 2-1, 0-0, 2-3, 2-0.

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - TENTH SEASON (PART IV OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD11:

Metropolis Alligators 2-0 Fontvielle Impact
Valencia FC 2-1 FC Fauxham
SC Caimanes 1-0 Slateport Bulls
Nacional 1-0 Chiquito FC
AS Vaud 0-0 Nord Energie FC
Eterna Stars 0-1 Marinos Metropolis
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-1 Tannenberg FC
Canalave Dragons 1-0 Pradera FC
Hamanos Athletic Club 0-1 AS Bezieres
Ajax Carloburgo 1-2 AD Cerro

The Stars’ first loss in the Clausura allowed Bezieres to remain as sole leaders with 29 points, while the Apertura champions are left behind with 26 points. Nacional and AD Cerro, the “not-so-Big” teams of Metropolis, take up for the valladar capital, while their Big neighbors, Marinos and the MA, are reeling. Tannenberg and the Olympique cancelled almost half of their chances to qualify to at least the AFI with that draw, while Canalave Dragons puts Hamanos into the relegation zone and increases the alert inside Vaud and Ajax. Valencia puts more spice to the situation with their victory over the quasi-relegated Fauxham.

MD12:

Fontvielle Impact 2-0 Valencia FC
SC Caimanes 1-4 Metropolis Alligators
FC Fauxham 0-5 Nacional
Slateport Bulls 1-1 AS Vaud
Chiquito FC 4-2 Eterna Stars
Nord Energie FC 0-2 Tannenberg FC
Marinos Metropolis 0-2 Canalave Dragons
Hamanos Athletic Club 0-2 Olympique de Fontvielle
Ajax Carloburgo 2-3 Pradera FC
AD Cerro 1-4 AS Bezieres

Bezieres are still on top, and getting closer to the Clausura title and the TQCC spot. The good news is that they have already assured their presence in UICA competitions the next season (If they don’t win the Clausura, they will be in the Globe Cup, at least). Nacional are now in second place, while the Stars lost their second match in a row and fell to the third place. Meanwhile, Fontvielle Impact, Olympique and Tannenberg entered into the fight for the GC-AFI spots, and Canalave Dragons are saving themselves from relegation. Ajax and Vaud are still giving away points, but the good news for them is that both the HAC and Valencia are giving them away as well.

MD13:

SC Caimanes 3-3 Fontvielle Impact
Nacional 5-1 Valencia FC
AS Vaud 0-2 Metropolis Alligators
Eterna Stars 1-0 FC Fauxham
Tannenberg FC 1-2 Slateport Bulls
Canalave Dragons 1-2 Chiquito FC
Hamanos Athletic Club 3-0 Nord Energie FC
Marinos Metropolis 5-0 Ajax Carloburgo
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-3 AD Cerro
AS Bezieres 1-0 Pradera FC

“Les Rouges” remain unstoppable in this Clausura, leading the standings with 35 points, six points clear of Nacional (who are thrashing and sweeping the floor with everyone and everything) and Eterna Stars. The three valladar spots in the next Globe Cup seem to go all for Metropolis, with the MA, Nacional and Marinos as third, fourth and fifth in the Overall Standings, respectively. The fight seems to be focused now on the AFI spot, currently held by Fontvielle Impact. However, Slateport, Cerro, Olympique and Tannenberg are exerting more and more pressure. Hamanos’ victory over Nord Energie and Ajax’s resounding defeat in Metropolis sent the second team from Carloburgo to the relegation zone, again.

MD14:

Fontvielle Impact 0-1 Nacional
SC Caimanes 1-2 AS Vaud
Valencia FC 0-2 Eterna Stars
Metropolis Alligators 1-1 Tannenberg FC
FC Fauxham 0-0 Canalave Dragons
Slateport Bulls 2-1 Hamanos Athletic Club
Ajax Carloburgo 4-3 Chiquito FC
AD Cerro 1-1 Nord Energie FC
AS Bezieres 3-0 Marinos Metropolis
Pradera FC 1-0 Olympique de Fontvielle

Bezieres’ great victory over Marinos is another giant step for “Les Rouges”, who are starting to celebrate their Clausura title. The six-point difference between Bezieres and Nacional-Eterna Stars could be decisive for Bezieres during the last five matches. Marinos’ spot in the Globe Cup begins to crumble, as Slateport Bulls cut the difference between the fifth and sixth in the Overall Standings to just two points. The Impact, Cerro, Tannenberg and Olympique begin to relinquish their chances, while the fight for avoid relegation is more heated than ever. Ajax’s crucial victory against Chiquito and Hamanos’ loss to the Bulls sent the HAC back to the red zone, while Fauxham could become the first relegated team of the season if they do not defeat…AJAX!

MD15:

AS Vaud 2-1 Fontvielle Impact
Eterna Stars 0-1 Nacional
Tannenberg FC 1-1 SC Caimanes
Canalave Dragons 2-2 Valencia FC
Metropolis Alligators 2-2 Hamanos Athletic Club
FC Fauxham 1-2 Ajax Carloburgo
AD Cerro 2-1 Slateport Bulls
AS Bezieres 1-1 Chiquito FC
Pradera FC 0-0 Nord Energie FC
Olympique de Fontvielle 2-2 Marinos Metropolis

What a lot of draws this day! After 15 matches in this Clausura, only four teams are in contention for the Clausura title and the second TQCC spot: Bezieres, Nacional, Eterna Stars and Cerro. Nacional and the MA need at least another victory to assure their presence in UICA tournaments, while the fight for the fifth UICA spot and the AFI spot seems to be between Marinos, Slateport Bulls and Cerro. In the relegation zone, Fauxham was doomed to relegation after their loss to Ajax at home; while Ajax and Vaud are slowly moving away from that dangerous zone, the Dragons, Valencia and the HAC are complicating their situation.

MD16:

Fontvielle Impact 2-0 Eterna Stars
AS Vaud 0-1 Tannenberg FC
Nacional 1-0 Canalave Dragons
SC Caimanes 3-1 Hamanos Athletic Club
Ajax Carloburgo 0-2 Valencia FC
Metropolis Alligators 1-2 AD Cerro
FC Fauxham 0-6 AS Bezieres
Slateport Bulls 2-0 Pradera FC
Chiquito FC 1-2 Olympique de Fontvielle
Nord Energie FC 0-0 Marinos Metropolis

The battle for the Clausura title between Bezieres and Nacional is closer to come to an end. With their shattering victory in Fauxham, “Les Rouges” have shown they are the strongest candidates to the Clausura title, although “La Academia” does not wish to give up, as they also defeated the demoralized Canalave Dragons. We must also say that Nacional is now closer than ever to return to an UICA competition, while things get complicated for the Alligators with their loss to Cerro. The Impact, Olympique and Tannenberg also showed they have not died yet, and will fight until the end for the AFI spot, while Canalave gets closer to the abyss, and Hamanos and Valencia try to get anything in their last matches.

MD17:

Tannenberg FC 1-3 Fontvielle Impact
Canalave Dragons 3-3 Eterna Stars
Hamanos Athletic Club 1-0 AS Vaud
Ajax Carloburgo 1-3 Nacional
AD Cerro 1-1 SC Caimanes
AS Bezieres 3-0 Valencia FC
Pradera FC 1-3 Metropolis Alligators
Olympique de Fontvielle 1-0 FC Fauxham
Marinos Metropolis 2-2 Slateport Bulls
Nord Energie FC 1-1 Chiquito FC

AS Bezieres and Nacional are the only teams with chance of winning the Clausura and the second TQCC spot. Coincidentally, they will face themselves the next week. The Clausura would be defined the next week. With their victory over Pradera, Metropolis Alligators qualified to the Globe Cup, while there will be a six teams race for the last GC spot and the AFI spot. Vaud, Ajax, the Dragons, Hamanos and Valencia will define within the next two weeks who of them will join Fauxham in the B-League the next season.

MD18:

Fontvielle Impact 2-2 Canalave Dragons
Tannenberg FC 2-0 Hamanos Athletic Club
Eterna Stars 0-1 Ajax Carloburgo
AS Vaud 1-3 AD Cerro
Nacional 0-0 AS Bezieres
SC Caimanes 3-1 Pradera FC
Valencia FC 1-4 Olympique de Fontvielle
Metropolis Alligators 0-1 Marinos Metropolis
FC Fauxham 1-2 Nord Energie FC
Slateport Bulls 2-2 Chiquito FC

Bezieres are the Clausura champions!!! With one match left, their draw with Nacional in Metropolis allowed "Les Rouges" to celebrate another qualification to the TQCC. Nacional and Metropolis Alligators will compete in the next Globe Cup, while five teams will fight for the last two “international” berths. A goal by Cotdelapomais player Johansson-Bakvis in Eterna City saved the B-League champions from relegation in their first season, while Valencia will play in the B-League again. That forces AS Vaud, Canalave Dragons and Hamanos Athletic Club to fight to assure their presence in the next Super League edition.

MD19:

Some matches of no importance at all, all of them played on Saturday evening...

AS Bezieres 2-2 Eterna Stars
Nord Energie FC 0-1 Valencia FC
Chiquito FC 0-5 Metropolis Alligators

And the "important matches" in this day:

Hamanos Athletic Club 0-1 Fontvielle Impact
Ajax Carloburgo 0-1 Canalave Dragons
AD Cerro 1-1 Tannenberg FC
Pradera FC 1-1 AS Vaud
Olympique de Fontvielle 4-0 Nacional
Marinos Metropolis 1-2 SC Caimanes
Slateport Bulls 3-3 FC Fauxham

Bezieres and Eterna ended their successful season with a draw in Bezieres, but they will have to meet once again in Canalave City, to define the champion of this season. In a dramatic comeback throughout the last matches of this Clausura, Olympique de Fontvielle kicked Marinos out of the last Globe Cup spot, qualifying for this competition for the first time in their history. Fortunately for the Mariners, they were given the chance to travel to Aeropag to compete in the next Aeropag Football Invitational, while the last season’s champions, Cerro, Tannenberg and Slateport were left with nothing. Fauxham (who managed to do a decent last match), Valencia and Hamanos will return to the B-League, and Ajax will have a second chance the next season. And, here are the standings:

Hartford City, right. Look, when we started this, we really didn't set out to have the same team win every year. Honestly we didn't. Nevertheless, the team in green is six-for-six, and only once have they won the league by fewer than ten points (seven points in 2010).

The good news? Tentalon got its second TQCC berth back.

Back to it, Una Serie action from season ten.

Image

Matchday 12

Augustus 1-1 Skyte City
Ridgemont Town 2-1 Pythons
Jonastown United 0-2 Valengren Kickers
Salaga F.C 3-0 Almondvale
Athletic Khaldoon 0-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Royal Khaldoon 2-2 1860 Flumineiro

Keith Fletcher made the impossible possible as Salaga actually picked up three points, it doesn’t move them off bottom of the table but is a morale boost, and to have won so comfortably may suggest Salaga are about to turn a corner.

1860 continues their vein of great form holding the champions to a 2-2 draw away from home. The single point makes sure 1860 continue their best ever start to a league season.

Matchday 13

Skyte City 0-4 Valengren Kickers
Pythons 1-1 Augustus
Almondvale 1-1 Ridgemont Town
Ajax Khaldoon II 3-2 Jonastown United
1860 Flumineiro 1-2 Salaga F.C
Royal Khaldoon 1-1 Athletic Khaldoon

And that’s four games without a win for the league leaders and reigning champions as they take a single point off Athletic. But it was a great debut for new boy and bosses son Aruna Soro who gave the Royal’s the lead with a long range thumper.

Holy-moly Salaga are off the bottom spot with a second win on the spin, leap-frogging J-Town who, despite taking a two goal lead collapsed in the second half against Ajax.

And Pythons average season continues to roll on with a 1-1 snore draw with Khaldoon rivals Augustus. Malak hero Zukava’s flashes of brilliance were enough to keep the home fans placated for now, but with the team in 5th more is expected – Augustus on the other hand will be grateful for the point.

Matchday 14

Ajax Khaldoon II 3-2 Skyte City
Almondvale 0-2 Pythons
Augustus 1-3 Valengren Kickers
Ridgemont Town 2-4 1860 Flumineiro
Jonastown United 2-0 Royal Khaldoon
Salaga F.C 0-1 Athletic Khaldoon

As if Royal Khaldoon’s recent form wasn’t bad enough they lose to league strugglers Jonastown 2-0. In an inspired performance J-Town clawed themselves off bottom of the table and thoroughly deserved the win in front of an astonished home crowd.

Kicker’s fans were bouncing for joy with the news Royal lost after their early morning kick off match against Augustus. The 3-1 win moved them to within 2 points of the top of the table.

Matchday 15

Skyte City 0-1 Royal Khaldoon
Pythons 2-0 1860 Flumineiro
Valengren Kickers 0-0 Ajax Khaldoon II
Almondvale 3-1 Augustus
Athletic Khaldoon 1-3 Ridgemont Town
Salaga F.C 0-3 Jonastown United

Almondvale’s ruthlessness in front of the Augustus goal saw the team from the capital drop into the bottom two. Lars Connacht, a revelation at Almondvale has failed to hit the same highs for his country, but continues to do the Pocoan fans service. Scoring twice and assisting one he earned his man of the match award in style.

The battle of the bottom proved to be a walk over for J-Town who ran out 3-0 winners and put some distance between themselves and the trap door. Royal finally put pay to their winless streak with a 1-0 away win over Skyte.

Matchday 16

Salaga F.C 1-1 Skyte City
Athletic Khaldoon 2-1 Pythons
Royal Khaldoon 1-1 Valengren Kickers
1860 Flumineiro 2-1 Almondvale
Augustus 2-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Ridgemont Town 1-2 Jonastown United

Couple of draws.. couple of wins… not much change to the general look of the league. Bad day for goalkeepers, not a single clean sheet to be seen.

Matchday 17

Skyte City 2-1 Ridgemont Town
Pythons 4-2 Jonastown United
Valengren Kickers 2-2 Salaga F.C
Almondvale 5-1 Athletic Khaldoon
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-5 Royal Khaldoon
1860 Flumineiro 0-4 Augustus

Big losses for two of the surprise packages of the season thus far, with new boys Ajax on the wrong end of a 5-1 whooping at Royal and 1860 feeling the full force of 36 year old Juan Segura.

Six goals proved to be the main feature of the day with Pythons beating Jonastown 4-2 and newbie striker Serge Lambert finding the net twice and Almondvale steamrollering Athletic with a 5-1 demolition with Frank Le Tissier leading the way. The aging winger put in a super sub display and found the net twice after coming off the bench.

Matchday 18

Pythons 5-1 Skyte City
Ridgemont Town 0-2 Valengren Kickers
Jonastown United 3-1 Almondvale
Salaga F.C 2-0 Ajax Khaldoon II
Athletic Khaldoon 1-0 1860 Flumineiro
Augustus 2-1 Royal Khaldoon

9 goals in two games and the Pythons strikers look deadly all of a sudden. It may be the atrocious goalkeeping on display or it could be they’re all fighting for a starting position with three very talented players competing for two spots.

Hey, Ridgemont are second bottom of the league, did anybody else notice they’ve been dire this season? Another defeat leaves them 3 points ahead of Salaga who managed to close the gap thanks to a win over Ajax.

Matchday 19

Skyte City 1-2 Almondvale
Pythons 0-3 Valengren Kickers
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-1 Ridgemont Town
1860 Flumineiro 3-2 Jonastown United
Royal Khaldoon 4-0 Salaga F.C
Athletic Khaldoon 2-1 Augustus

It’s amazing how many spoilers there are in this league. As soon as you find some form some son of a bitch comes along and spoils it. Look at Chris Foster, Pocoan international keeper and Valengren number 1 who just wouldn’t budge against Pythons.

Too easy for Royal as they trump Salaga 4-0 as they run out clear winners, but everywhere else the one goal margin proved to be enough for a number of teams – a la Almondvale, Ajax, 1860 and Athletic.

Matchday 20

1860 Flumineiro 2-3 Skyte City
Ajax Khaldoon II 3-1 Pythons
Almondvale 3-3 Valengren Kickers
Ridgemont Town 1-0 Royal Khaldoon
Jonastown United 1-1 Athletic Khaldoon
Augustus 1-0 Salaga F.C

It may have been a fluke goal, but they all count as Ridgemont snuck past Royal with what some are saying was a blatant hand ball. Where’s their evidence? There aint none. There’s no video ref, so that little shit Gilbert Batistuta isn’t about to be caught.

Ajax may well be the best team ever to be promoted with yet another 3 points, this time at the expense of Pythons. Palatian forward Dwight Eliot proves that the little Rushmori island has a few quality players with a stunning volley late into the second half to give Ajax a 1 goal lead before wrapping it up with a tap in, in extra time.

Matchday 21

Skyte City 0-3 Athletic Khaldoon
Pythons 5-4 Royal Khaldoon
Valengren Kickers 3-1 1860 Flumineiro
Almondvale 1-1 Ajax Khaldoon II
Salaga F.C 0-1 Ridgemont Town
Jonastown United 1-1 Augustus

OMFG! Game of the year, forget the other five, the 5-4, 9 goal, three red card, manager flair up, refereeing blunder epic at the St. Jonas Stadium is the only thing worth talking about. For so many years these two sides have been direct title rivals, it was one of them for the championship and that was it. This game is full of passion, sweat, beautiful football, sweat, great goalkeeping, sweat, tactical masterstrokes and sweat.

This one however surpasses all those that have come before it. But now I don’t feel like telling you about it, because I’ve built it up too much… any description I could give would pale in comparison to this game.

Matchday 22

Jonastown United 0-2 Skyte City
Salaga F.C 0-1 Pythons
Athletic Khaldoon 2-1 Valengren Kickers
Royal Khaldoon 4-2 Almondvale
1860 Flumineiro 0-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Augustus 1-0 Ridgemont Town

Surprise, surprise, Salaga lost, courtesy of a Serge Lambert diving header. Not done with scoring a multitude of goals, the Royal artillery continued to hit the back of the net with a 4-2 win over Almondvale. Valengren’s week at the top of the table came to an end with defeat to Athletic and Skyte hopped over Jonastown in 10th with a 2-0 win.

And so we reach the middle of the season – let’s take a quick look at the League table… and those of the divisions below even though we hates them *blergh* because they’re not in the top flight.

Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking New! (now try imagine this is scrolling) Breaking News! Breaking News!

Ridgemont Town’s bigwigs have finally had it, the last straw, after ten years of service and a Trofeo Royal final victory, the Ridgemont’s board have elected to part ways with manager Guus Wilhelmson. The side has made an atrocious start to this prestigious milestone season and it appears it’s time for a change. Guus happens to be one of the oldest serving managers in the country alongside Giovanni Vianna at Augustus. His replacement has yet to be named; however, there are suggestions Ugo Stowell will take control of his first Una Serie side. His current League I employers Belle-Isle on Sea have all but given up any hopes of promotion this season with Villa Ortiz top of the table, 17 points ahead of Allied Motor Trade in second and 20 in front of Belle-Isle who are battling on for a fourth straight SBCC place.

The Seals and the Penguins again dominated the competition, but yet again it was Damasa City that finished on top of the regular season. It was a first for Mount Isina as they made it through to the final series for the first time, while Erik Novy had the remarkable achievement of only letting through eight goals the entire season for Amori East. The Norton Rats and Vayeshi Gulls were inconsistent throughout the whole season and will be relegated next season, while the two new teams this year did remarkably well, especially the University of Amori Crabs, who missed out on the finals by only three points.

With three time top scorer Paul Madrigal playing overseas, it left the door open for Orcas striker Ryan Fredette to win the award for the first time. Fredette scored a massive 31 goals in just 26 games, and ten ahead of former top scorer and Five Stars teammate, the Skuas' Annabelle Quisenberry. National team top scorer Annabelle Quisenberry again missed out, finishing in equal fourth. Meanwhile, Penguins and national keeper Erik Novy showed why he is the best by winning the best keeper award for the fifth straight time, though young University of Amori keeper Katy Wolery did extremely well to finish in third.

Top Scorers

For the fifth year in a row, the Damasa City Seals faced the Amori East Penguins in the grand final of the National League Championships. And for the third year in a row, the Penguins finished on top, despite the Seals finishing the regular season on top. However, this year the stakes were higher, as the winner would also be chosen to be the representative into the TakilQuip Champions Cup.

Phoenix Cup I

The Phoenix Cup is a weekend competition held in Dynapolis, at the Benevolence Bowl, in Burningham. The King's League All-Star XI, the reigning King's League champions, and Dynapolis United face off in a three team mini league for the pre-season friendly trophy. All proceeds from ticket sales go to charity.

Osarius Queen's Shield 2183

The Queen's Shield is a yearly curtain raiser for the King's League, held between the winners of the previous season's OFA Cup and King's League.
If one team wins both, then the King's League Runners-Up face the OFA Cup winners instead.

Queen's Shield @ Mount Crown Stadium

Firewood City F.C. 2-0 Burningham City F.C.

Two goals in quick succession late in the game - from Benni Watson and Reiss Ryerson - saw Firewood claim the shield yet again, and get one over on their rivals.

Osarius King's League Team Previews 2183-84

NOTE: Non-native players are classified in two ways in Osarius. Players from nations without seats on the Council of Rabastor are considered "Foreign". Those from within Rabastorian nations (Kryosis, Eristicea and Callistea) are considered "Non-Osarian". Players from Osarian dominions, such as Aquillian, are considered "Non-Osarian" for this purpose.
Foreign players are underlined and Non-Osarians are italicized.

AFC Hollybrent
Current OFA Rank: 10th
Last Season: 10th
Manager: Andrew Houghton
Stadium: Applegrass Arena (64,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Clarkson, Barrios, Walker, Hamilton, Parrish, Dealy, Cotto, Yokum (c), Borredan, Sunderland, Tinto
Key Player(s): Obviously Keon Tinto is the star man in Hollybrent. His refusal to leave, or stop scoring, means that the Applegrass side are back in contention for a UICA berth this season. He is supported by Tyrrinian midfielder and club captain Yannic Yokum, while young Peter Clarkson remains invaluable between the sticks.
Bet of the Season: Back them at 7/4 to finish top five in the King's League

Blacktube Village F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 11th
Last Season: 17th
Manager: Peter Darko
Stadium: The Tube (12,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-5-1] Bravo (c), Kerr, Poulsen, Grouser, Hernandez, Williams, Forrester, Foxe, Hardwick, Collins, McPeen
Key Player(s): The addition of Frank Grouser last season was a good one, and James Forrester is a decent playmaker on the left. But Darko's men will need a bit more if they want to survive in an increasingly competitive league.
Bet of the Season: Back them for the drop. They are quoted as long as 9/4 to be relegated.

Burningham City F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 2nd
Last Season: 2nd
Manager: Sir George Pennant
Stadium: Elishat Stadium (72,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Saughennessy, Figueroa, Scos, Shahar (c), Honsou, Beltran, Kamaku'wi, Nakata, O'Shea, McNeill, Reyale
Key Player(s): In a team as packed with talent as this, its hard to single out exceptional players. However, the centre-back pairing of Balidian Mathew Scos and Tyrrinian Melvyn Shahar remains the foundation upon which this team is built. Slightly worrying though, might be their continued reliance on an aging - yet still lethal - Caspian Reyale for goals.
Bet of the Season: They are probably the only side who can realistically compete with Firewood at the moment. Back them at 3/1 to win the King's League.

Callisto City F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 15th
Last Season: 16th
Manager: Donovan MacLean
Stadium: Golden Temple (32,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-1-2-3] Schroeder, Diya, Andrews, Barbur, Williams, Treville, Gonzalez, Hensley, Nwaraba, Aderholt (c), Frain
Key Player(s): There is still only one man the Golden Temple faithful sing about; Robert Aderholt. Callisto do have the very gifted attacking fullback Tomi Diya, and the oft-overlooked Marc Treville too. The latter being a main reason why they can pile forward to support Aderholt.
Bet of the Season: Some will disagree with this, but I'd put money on Donovan MacLean no longer being manager at the end of the season. You can get 11/2 on that.

Charleston Athletic F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 7th
Last Season: 12th
Manager: Robert Collinson
Stadium: The Qube (60,000)
Starting Lineup: [5-4-1 Sweeper] Ramiro, Korpi, Reeves, Bennett (c), Puckett, Kinoz'gh, Jacobs, Simmons, Forrester, Yoba, Stafford
Key Player(s): As strange as it might sound, the fullbacks in this team - Roberto Korpi and Mace Kinoz'gh are actually instrumental to the team's success. Both are hard-hitting guys who like to get the ball forward. Former Osarian international Reuben Forrester pulls strings in the middle for them.
Bet of the Season: Charleston have a solid defensive record. Back them at 7/4 to concede less than a goal per game over the course of the season.

Cymrwell FC
Current OFA Rank: 8th
Last Season: 15th
Manager: Michael N'Diaye
Stadium: Cymrwell Stadium (26,000)
Starting Lineup: [5-4-1 Sweeper] Corradini, Pancioni, Topps, Holland, Branner (c), McNealy, Speed, Tenaglia, Tozer, Martelli, Corrazone
Key Player(s): Cymrwell have some great young players coming through, most notably the under-21s duo Katherine Holland and Enrico Martelli. The Flying Sparks tandem have attracted a lot of attention from top tier sides, and are key to the team's offense. Goalkeeper Enzo Corradini looks promising too, and will be one to watch this season.
Bet of the Season: Fans of the club won't like this, but I'm putting money on both Holland and Martelli to be gone by season's end at a very generous 31/2

Firewood City F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 1st
Last Season: King's League Champions
Manager: Willem Hamel
Stadium: The Cauldron (54,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-2-3-1] Pudona, Samra, Ryerson, Crow, Vilito, Orelin, Lewis (c), Bonriou, Blake, Watson, Wilson-Ouaddou
Key Player(s): There is no disputing that Benni Watson is the best player in Osarius right now, and Firewood have him. His delivery created almost half of their goals last season, while his right boot scored a fair few too. With all the hype surrounding Watson, its easy to forget that Jermain Lewis remains their captain, too. However, Gabriel Russell is waiting in the wings to usurp the veteran midfielder.
Bet of the Season: You'd be silly not to back them at 5/2 to win the league again.

Fort Mare FC
Current OFA Rank: 27th
Last Season: Royal League Runners-Up
Manager: Anthony Yoah
Stadium: Resheph Glory Stadium (24,000)
Starting Lineup: [5-3-1-1] Domingo, Gaines, Everett, Meyers, Leblanc, Suarez, M. García, Eliseo (c), T. García, Lachance, Greene
Key Player(s): The García Twins in midfield pose a tag-team threat of tough tackling which wrought havoc in the Royal League. Cotdelapomais midfielder Gaetan Lachance is held in high regard, too. Look for Fort Mare to rely on the youngster for the creative spark necessary to break down King's League defences.
Bet of the Season: As much as any neutral will want to see them do well, you can get odds of 7/2 for them to finish bottom of the league. Good bet.

Grasshoppers Turic F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 4th
Last Season: 3rd
Manager: Karl Heinz-Grichenbauer
Stadium: Turic Thunderdome (31,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-5-1] Bostich, Coupier, Gidds (c), Poulsen, Deckford, Rielle, Zazalane, Gremio, Millican, de Vriers, Johnson
Key Player(s): Despite his age, Tay Gidds remains a very important figure in Turic. Going forward, Gremio and Rhianna Johnson provide the necessary threat... effectively.
Bet of the Season: Turic are strange to predict in the league, but they are much more consistent in the cup competitions (in general), so back them at 7/2 to reach a cup final this season.

Greeningham City F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 12th
Last Season: 7th
Manager: Alan Gould
Stadium: Green Bowl (51,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Sullivan, Carsley, Opoku (c), Barr, Park, Ambrosio, Hobbs, Fortunado, Smalley, Marley, Di Maria
Key Player(s): Greeningham have the best foreign player in the country (Rio Fortunado), the most popular player in the country (Georgina Carsley) and one of the most prolific strikers in the country (Zack Marley).
Bet of the Season: With all this talent, its hard to believe they will be poor two seasons running. Back them at 9/4 to make their return to the top five.

Hamtown Athletic F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 25th
Last Season: Royal League Play-Off Winners
Manager: James Davidson
Stadium: The Sty (29,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Rose, Gaspar, Garrison, Judson, James, Begley, Short, Butler (c), Akpala, Iniesta, Ladron
Key Player(s): Aging captain and playmaker Dominic Butler is integral to their play, but he doesn't have the support he needs to really make an impact in the King's League.
Bet of the Season: As respected as Davidson was as a player, he probably won't handle the pressure as a manager in the top flight, even though this is the second try. Put money on him getting sacked at evens.

Hastmead Diamante CFC
Current OFA Rank: 16th
Last Season: 14th
Manager: Amandeep Sahota
Stadium: Black Patch Park (21,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-3-3] Flore, Williams (c), Cole, Furgo, Trump, Cass. Palacios, Peranio, Villa, Andrews, Cris. Palacios, Lescott
Key Player(s): There is a slew of great young players here, but standouts are captain D'Antoni Williams and pint-sized playmaker Francesco Villa. Its also worth noting that Hope Peranio has been criminally overlooked during her time in Hastmead.
Bet of the Season: Put money on Francesco Villa leaving before the World Cup finals start. You can get odds of 4/1.

Kart Hago FC
Current OFA Rank: 9th
Last Season: 11th
Manager: Richard Deacon
Stadium: Kart Hago Koliseum (36,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-3-3] Buchanan, Linwood, Rodgers, Suder, Wilkerson, McInally, Watson (c), Pettea, Conway, Golanski, Trent
Key Player(s): Most of the goals will come from Tomas Golanski, as usual. The front three will be reliant on the playmaking of Robert Watson - cousin of the Osarian international brothers. Beyond that, Kart Hago are blessed with athletic players, but largely lacking in technical ability.
Bet of the Season: Since Frederico "Jesus" Avila left the club, Kart Hago have struggled for a consistant supply of goals. Back them at 11/4 to end the season with a negative goal difference.

King's Guard Sporting Club
Current OFA Rank: 3rd
Last Season: 6th
Manager: Major Hubert Overmars
Stadium: Crown Valley Stadium (45,000)
Starting Lineup: There is no squad list this season, as the King's Guard steps up security measures and obscures player names in favour of identification numbers. Major Overmars has also revealed that he will be sticking to the tried and tested 4-4-2 formation.
Key Player(s): Since they have not released a squad list, its hard to pick out key players. Traditionally though, King's Guard have had tireless, box-to-box midfielders who crop up with goals at convenient times. This year won't be any different.
Bet of the Season: King's Guard have never really been about winning trophies, but they have done and have come close quite a few times recently. Back them at 4/1 to win a trophy this season.

Paper Tree Town F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 22nd
Last Season: 9th
Manager: Marcus Crow
Stadium: Papyrus Stadium (22,000)
Starting Lineup: [5-3-1-1] Daderio, Bernard, Pelagatti, Chambers, Zarate, Huron, Raymond (c), Wilder, Blankenship, Caporaso, Fenstermaker
Key Player(s): Being Kryosi, Marcus Crow is inclined toward the defensive. Its also no surprise that his team is build around the holding trio of Kryosi players: Jared Huron, Trent Raymond and Roland Wilder. He will also be hoping that the void left after the retirement of Michael Beardsmore will be filled by the acquisition of Frank Fenstermaker.
Bet of the Season: With a coach like Marcus Crow, its hard to see Paper Tree Town being a paragon of fair play. Back them at 5/2 to finish top of the disciplinary points table.

Real Jraxville F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 19th
Last Season: Royal League Champions
Manager: Roberto Grosso
Stadium: JNV Arena (20,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-3-2-1] Simmons, Hauser, Tien (c), Wyzacki, Kurana, Rose, Barca-Carthy, Pepito, Dequid, H. Shevket, Dore
Key Player(s): Its difficult to say really, as they are a very tight-knit side, despite the large outlay by the club's new owners. The combination of Ayanna Barca-Carthy and Pepito in the heart of the midfield in a formidable one, and they are charged with creating chances for serial goalscorer Sean Dore.
Bet of the Season: While Jraxville are now small fish in a big pond, they have sharp teeth; Sean Dore is capable of scoring against any defence on his day. Back them at 9/1 to pick up four or more points against last season's top four.

Renneville United F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 6th
Last Season: 4th
Manager: Craig Kinslain
Stadium: Renneville Arena (28,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-1-1] Briston, Sears, McLaughlin, Matteo, Pugh, Racine, Birch (c), Martinez, Holden, Pitfield, Weeks
Key Player(s): As always, Renneville will look to Amelia Pitfield to create the chances for Aiden Weeks to put away. The signing of Balida Under 21s captain Bryan Briston has filled a gap at goalkeeper for them, and should provide some needed solidity behind a reasonable back four.
Bet of the Season: Renneville seem to perenially flirt with the top tier of the King's League, but only sometimes do they break it. This year they look stronger than normal, with a hungrier, youthful edge. Back them at Evens to qualify for UICA competition.

Trothwands Evolution
Current OFA Rank: 5th
Last Season: 5th
Manager: Mervyn Phillips
Stadium: Trothwands Terrordome (67,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Latendresse, Watson, Bradford, Baringer, Aquilani, Coffey, Lubret (c), Morelli, Sledd, Pryor, Lohn
Key Player(s): Trothwands' greatest weakness is that they lack real quality on either wing. This is usually rectified by having perhaps the two best attacking fullbacks in the country at their disposal in Ashley Watson and Flavio Aquilani. The midfield is still marshalled exceptionally by long-time captain Malachi Lubret.
Bet of the Season: During pre-season it became evident that there is a steely edge to this Trothwands side which they seem to have been lacking before. Back them to win 18 or more games in the league this season at 5/1.

Utica United F.C.
Current OFA Rank: 18th
Last Season: 8th
Manager: John Freeman
Stadium: The Ursinopolis (59,000)
Starting Lineup: [4-4-2] Santa Cruz, Banks, Delatte (c), Jonas, Molina, Best, Ruiz, Gallardo, Coby, Maxwell, Speranzo
Key Player(s): Of course, the main man here is Dante Speranzo, whose goals attracted the likes of Trothwands Evolution and Burningham City in the summer. In a squad of young Osarian players, it is hard to say "watch this player" but one would be foolish to overlook Donna Delatte, who is the only female captain in the King's League, and criminally overlooked for the national team.
Bet of the Season: These kids are on the rise, and if this unit sticks together all year, they could spring some surprises. Back them at 5/2 to qualify for UICA competition this season.

Wellmont United FC
Current OFA Rank: 13th
Last Season: 13th
Manager: Anton Maro
Stadium: Cavalane Park (22,000)
Starting Lineup: [5-4-1] Sitler, Myron, Daley (c), Rapinato, Powell, Park, Telo, Reyes, Vela, Trinidad, Mohammed
Key Player(s): Former Dynapolis United centre back Ashley Daley was eventually overshadowed by his younger brother, however Wellmont have reaped the fruits of his experience and anticipation. Omar Mohammed is also one of the best finishers in the league, when he's given a chance.
Bet of the Season: As solid as the team is defensively, and as good a finisher as Omar Mohammed is... they don't create many chances for him. Put money on them scoring less than a goal per game on average, you can get odds of 5/4.

Liventia Football League season 14
The expanded 64-team Liventia Football League kicked off in its new format in season 14 of the league. However, controversy struck the Football League Cup after the 14 original teams refused to play in the new structure which sees them enter at the first round with all 50 of the new teams, and the competition was cancelled.

The First Division saw newly-promoted Dover City reclaim their spot at the top of the Liventian football world with a five-point margin of victory in the final league standings. Going into the split after 35 games with just a two-point lead over defending champions Bede City, Bede could only secure a single point from a goalless draw from their three post-split games — while Dover scored four points — to send the title back to Dover. Their promoted counterparts, Orean, finished bottom of the table, four points behind Folenisa and a further six from safety.

Liventia Second Division
The Second Division was even tighter than the First Division. Just as in the First Division, going into the split after 35 games the leaders Pardbo held a two-point lead to the second placed team, Jesner Town. In fact, the top four teams were separated by just five points. After the split, Jesner picked up seven points from a possible nine — but Pardbo managed six of their own, securing the title by one point, and opening up the gap to fourth place to ten points. Olympton set the league record for defensive futility, conceding 100 goals in the first phase and a further six after the split.

Despite Army United finishing in the bottom half of the table as they were two points behind Liventia United after 35 matches, they finished the season with more points than their rivals with a better phase two performance. However, the rules do not allow cross-sectional moves after the split, meaning Army miss out on what would have been a lucrative SBCC slot.

Liventia Third Division
The first season of play for the new Liventia Third Division saw twelve teams go head-to-head in a bid to win promotion to replace Olympton and Trury in the Second Division. After 33 games it was very tight: whilst Chament had opened up a nine-point lead on their competitors, three teams — Exeterburg, Peterlie Rangers and Wakeford — were tied on 48 points, and Richmouth and Ralier were tied on 47, making up the top half of the draw for the split round. Another three teams were tied on 46 points, just missing out on the top half, meaning they would have to battle with Cittin Town (43 points) to avoid being sucked into the relegation playoff. At the bottom after 33 games, Brise (33 points) seemed doomed for the drop, while Spring Valley, on 27 points, had already seen their season fail with relegation.

The post-split matches shook up the top half of the table as expected, with Richmouth winning the second phase, collecting four wins from a possible five for 12 points. Chament managed six points, enough to win them the title, whilst Peterlie's eight points was enough to place them third behind Chament and Richmouth, with Exeterburg and Wakeford in fourth and fifth. Ralier picked up only a solitary point after the split to finish sixth with 48 points, and if not for the split rule, would have finished third-from-bottom and in a relegation playoff spot.

The teams in the bottom half of the table still had something to fight for: avoiding the relegation playoff and extending their season, knowing that a single loss in the playoff would relegate them to the Fourth Division. Batogo Forest finished the second phase with 11 points, good to place them 7th overall with 57 points. Livery FC picked up nine points, good enough for eighth overall and to escape the playoffs, while Montress were the unfortunate team. Despite two wins in their final five matches, three losses compounded them to 52 points and ninth — just one point ahead of Cittin Town in tenth. As expected, Brise and Spring Valley continued their poor form, combining for only five points in the second phase.

Liventian Fourth Division
The Fourth Division was the only one not to feature a split-season format, but did feature two distinct divisions within the tier of competition. Each division contained 18 teams, with the winners being promoted and the next three in each division qualifying for a promotion playoff. Both divisions were fairly similar, with Alpha being won on 64 points and Bravo on 63 points and the last team in both divisions finishing with 33 points. The Montreffier—Mon-Treffier rivalry in Division Alpha was spiced up by both teams challenging for promotion; Mon-Treffier's division title meaning they did not have to go through the playoffs to win promotion.

After an absence of many years, collegiate sporting authorities in The Babbage Islands have decided to send teams to the 30th International University Challenge Championship. As in the distant past, the top two teams from each of the four principal BCUAA conferences were drawn into a bracket for the BCUAA Cup and the top three finishers therein qualify to the IUCC.

Matchday 23

Skyte City 3-1 Augustus
Pythons 4-1 Ridgemont Town
Valengren Kickers 2-0 Jonastown United
Almondvale 3-2 Salaga F.C
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-1 Athletic Khaldoon
1860 Flumineiro 2-2 Royal Khaldoon

Royal topple off top spot with a second 2-2 draw against 1860 after taking the lead twice. 2 goals for Aruna Soro left his dad beaming with joy, but the smile was wiped off his face after Benito Gabrini scored once again.

Valengren moved to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over J-Town and are followed up there by Pythons with another big win, hitting managerless Ridgemont, who put up little fight, for four.

Salaga stay routed to the foot with another loss and despite scoring twice couldn’t avoid defeat thanks to some shambolic defending.

Matchday 24

Valengren Kickers 2-0 Skyte City
Augustus 0-3 Pythons
Ridgemont Town 1-0 Almondvale
Jonastown United 2-2 Ajax Khaldoon II
Salaga F.C 1-0 1860 Flumineiro
Athletic Khaldoon 3-2 Royal Khaldoon

Athletic fans will be bouncing with joy after taking three points from Royal who drop further down the league, but not as much joy as the Ajax fans who find their team in third place and in the mix for a possible TQCC spot in their first season.

Ugo Stowell, the new man in charge at Ridgemont starts his reign with three points and a big hug for Gilbert Batistuta who scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Matchday 25

Skyte City 1-1 Ajax Khaldoon II
Pythons 1-3 Almondvale
Valengren Kickers 2-1 Augustus
1860 Flumineiro 0-1 Ridgemont Town
Royal Khaldoon 2-0 Jonastown United
Athletic Khaldoon 3-2 Salaga F.C

Dream start for Ugo Stowell as his team pick up a second straight win edging out 1860 in a second 1-0 win on the trot.

Almondvale’s 3-1 win over Pythons means the Khaldoon side lose ground on league leaders Valengren who have Cafundeu man Gnomo to thank for his double strike in the second half for pinching the points off Augustus. Royal return to third with a 2-0 win over J-Town and the UICA places could go anywhere as 1-5 are split by only 6 points.

Matchday 26

Royal Khaldoon 1-1 Skyte City
1860 Flumineiro 3-1 Pythons
Ajax Khaldoon II 4-5 Valengren Kickers
Augustus 2-2 Almondvale
Ridgemont Town 2-1 Athletic Khaldoon
Jonastown United 2-2 Salaga F.C

As the teams below them drop points Valengren needed to battle hard to take the three points from a stout Ajax team who just wouldn’t lay down and die. Nine goals made the other games look a tad boring, which maybe they would be had it not been the week Ugo Stowell lead his Ridgemont side to yet another victory. Wackyness eh? Three wins in a row, what a start to a new reign.

The bottom two managed a 2-2 draw and failed to shift, well, they wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon, and they’re 7 and 11 points behind Augustus respectively.

Matchday 27

Skyte City 0-1 Salaga F.C
Pythons 2-0 Athletic Khaldoon
Valengren Kickers 0-2 Royal Khaldoon
Almondvale 1-1 1860 Flumineiro
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-1 Augustus
Jonastown United 1-1 Ridgemont Town

Royal put pay to Valengren’s ideas of storming away with the title by beating them 2-0 at the Union Sports Stadium, Pythons can still dream of regaining the title after last year’s disastrous 4th place finish while Salaga fans managed to turn their thoughts to escaping relegation with a 1-0 win over Skyte.

Matchday 28

Ridgemont Town 3-0 Skyte City
Jonastown United 0-4 Pythons
Salaga F.C 3-1 Valengren Kickers
Athletic Khaldoon 1-1 Almondvale
Royal Khaldoon 2-1 Ajax Khaldoon II
Augustus 5-0 1860 Flumineiro

Royal return to top after Valengren are upset by a 3-1 loss to Salaga who achieve a second win on the bounce. Former under 21’s player Kenny Logger scored twice to give Salaga the lead before Fernando Cafu finished the win off.

Augustus picked up their biggest win of the season and manager Gio Vianna will be relieved. His job looked doomed last season, but a cup win proved enough to save his bacon, however with the poor form of the team this season its likely his number will be up if he can’t drag them back into the top half of the table.

Matchday 29

Skyte City 3-1 Pythons
Valengren Kickers 2-2 Ridgemont Town
Almondvale 5-2 Jonastown United
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-2 Salaga F.C
1860 Flumineiro 0-1 Athletic Khaldoon
Royal Khaldoon 2-0 Augustus

A third win in a row for Salaga and J-Town are plunged into bottom spot after a 5-2 thumping away to Almondvale who still haven’t put ideas of a Globe Cup spot behind them with 15 games left to go.

Royal put three points between themselves and the Kickers with a 2-0 win over Khaldoon rivals Augustus, goals for Cobarrubias and Polinski proved that it wasn’t just daddy’s boy Aruna Soro who could grab goals.

Matchday 30

Almondvale 0-3 Skyte City
Valengren Kickers 3-2 Pythons
Ridgemont Town 2-1 Ajax Khaldoon II
Jonastown United 2-1 1860 Flumineiro
Salaga F.C 2-1 Royal Khaldoon
Augustus 1-1 Athletic Khaldoon

Abdoulaye Soro looked like he was about to suffer an aneurysm after his side were beaten by a resurgent Salaga side who won their fourth game in a row and started to look like making the relegation fight something of a battle rather than slip out of the league with a whimper. Goals again for Kenny Logger have marked the player as one to watch for the bigger clubs.

Valengren moved back into pole position with a 3-2 victory over title rivals Pythons thanks to a late, late, laaate penalty call. With Kickers captain Benayoun hitting the floor, the Pocoan dusted himself off and tucked the ball into the bottom corner with 94 minutes on the clock.

Matchday 31

Skyte City 0-0 1860 Flumineiro
Pythons 0-0 Ajax Khaldoon II
Valengren Kickers 2-3 Almondvale
Royal Khaldoon 1-0 Ridgemont Town
Athletic Khaldoon 1-1 Jonastown United
Salaga F.C 1-0 Augustus

Six clean sheets in a day when Salaga continued to string together an unprecedented winning streak. Good day for ‘keepers or bad day for strikers as only 9 goals were scored in six fixtures, but of those few goals scored, the Kickers lost and Royal won which meant the top spot changed over again.

Matchday 32

Athletic Khaldoon 3-2 Skyte City
Royal Khaldoon 2-2 Pythons
1860 Flumineiro 2-1 Valengren Kickers
Ajax Khaldoon II 2-1 Almondvale
Ridgemont Town 1-1 Salaga F.C
Augustus 1-2 Jonastown United

And with a narrow win, bottom of the league Jonastown throw Augustus manager Vianna’s future into jeopardy. After taking the lead Augustus threw away the three points after losing two men and conceding two goals.

Serge Lambert may have scored the biggest goal of his Pythons career to date with a 75th minute goal against Royal in the Khaldoon derby to bring the game to a 2-2 draw.

Ugo Stowell’s Ridgemont side took on Keith Fletcher’s resurgent Salaga team and as expected they traded blows but neither side could knock the other over and had to settle for a point a piece.

Matchday 33

Skyte City 0-2 Jonastown United
Pythons 0-0 Salaga F.C
Valengren Kickers 2-2 Athletic Khaldoon
Almondvale 6-2 Royal Khaldoon
Ajax Khaldoon II 1-0 1860 Flumineiro
Ridgemont Town 0-2 Augustus

And you thought Soro was fuming when Royal lost to Salaga, but after being battered 6-2 by Almondvale.. he may have blown a gasket, I wouldn’t have wanted to see the dressing room after this result. Well other than that, everything else was kinda boring. Except the relegation spot is now very close, with teams separated by only 2 points – and after winning only twice in their last 11 games, 1860 have been plunged into the mire despite being 8th.

Okay, we keep mentioning it , so lets have a little look at the league table.

Sixth Aeropag Football Invitational

Invitees
The Paripana Sporting Council again invited sixteen teams (eight seeded and eight unseeded) to the Olympic Tower for this Aeropag Football Invitational. This is the first Invitational to involve the new CF Aéropag rather than Aeropag Penguins, as well as the first not to involve the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup and Globe Cup champions; the PSC has been quick to dispel rumors that both Albrecht FC and Mapabore Juventud pulled out due to being afraid to face the host invitee CF Mont-Pluie. Four associations—Elemanu, Kagdazka and Pazhujebu, Rejistania, and Schiavonia—made their début in the tournament this season (as well as l’ACF, though CF Aéropag is considered a PSC club for the purpose of the tournament). Two applicants, Protectorate United (ADN) and Tabeck FC (STB), were refused entry, one for capacity reasons and one for mutilating the spirit of the tournament—take your pick as to which is which.

Itamil Itera (RJS) H1SR champion
Amori East Penguins (ELE) Elemanu National League champion
Zhevassi (KPZ) KPFA League First Division champion
Schiavonia 46ers (SCV) SchiavOne champion

Format
With sixteen teams, the format of the group stage would be four groups of four, with each team playing all of its group opponents once. As no UICA cup champions participated, no team was placed in a particular group. The eight seeded teams were placed in one pot, and the eight unseeded teams in another pot. The groups were drawn as follows:

Group A: Heathfield United, Dunboor FC, Itamil Itera, Battle
Group B: CF Mont-Pluie, Mercia Bromham, Amori East Penguins, Schiavonia 46ers
Group C: Ibini FC, Ciudad Soluca, AD Cerro, Zhevassi
Group D: CF Aéropag, Boalluns FE, Firewood City, Krozuy Academics

The group standings would be determined, in order, by points, head-to-head result, goal difference, goals for, and fair play standings. The winner of each group advanced to the playoff bracket (for 1st–4th place), the runners-up to the consolation bracket (for 5th–8th place), the third-placed teams to the classification bracket (for 9th–12th place), and the fourth-placed teams to the kindoff bracket (for 13th–16th place). In each bracket, the team from Group A was paired with the team from Group D, and the team from Group B with the team from Group C.

Kindoff bracket

(SCV) Schiavonia 46ers 1–0 Zhevassi (KPZ)

Kindoff
(PSC) CF Aéropag 0–1 Zhevassi (KPZ)

Thirteenth place match
(RJS) Itamil Itera 0–1 Schiavonia 46ers (SCV)

CF Aéropag’s first Aeropag Football Invitational campaign played out in the worst manner possible, as they kind of lost every match, including the kindoff (the only other team to “accomplish” this was Illinopolis FC of Albundania). They, along with their opponents Zhevassi, each received 4 kg Au of the prize fund. The lehiju’ny of Itamil Itera went home with 4.5 kg Au for their fourteenth-place finish, while the Schiavonia 46ers, despite their optimistic count of the number of islands in Schiavonia, walked away with 5 kg Au. Each team in the kindoff bracket received a plaque commemorating the club’s participation in the tournament, as well as small goody bags containing an assortment of foods and trinkets with a total cash value of 98.4 g Au.

Classification bracket
Semifinals
(ZRB) Battle 5–1 Krozuy Academics (TAR)
(ADN) CF Mont-Pluie p 0–0 Ibini FC (VAL) (0–0 FT; 4–2 pen)

Eleventh place match
(TAR) Krozuy Academics 0–3 Ibini FC (VAL)

Ninth place match
(ZRB) Battle 1–0 CF Mont-Pluie (ADN)

Krozuy Academics received 5.5 kg Au for their twelfth-place finish; Ibini FC, whose 3–0 win in their final match was apparently poor enough to require booing and hissing from the elven godmod supporters, received 6 kg Au for eleventh place. Host invitee CF Mont-Pluie battled its way to tenth place and 6.5 kg Au, while Battle earned 7 kg Au for their ninth-place result. Each team in the classification bracket also received a plaque, complemented by larger goody bags with a total cash value of 149.0 g Au.

Consolation bracket
Semifinals
(CAF) Dunboor FC 3–0 Firewood City (OSR)
(ELE) Amori East Penguins 1–3 e AD Cerro (VLD) (1–1 FT)

Seventh place match
(OSR) Firewood City 3–1 Amori East Penguins (ELE)

Fifth place match
(CAF) Dunboor FC 2–0 AD Cerro (VLD)

Amori East Penguins, the only team from a débutant association to finish better than last in the group stage, received 8 kg Au in prize money for eighth place; Firewood City, meanwhile, received 9 kg Au for an improvement on last season’s performance. AD Cerro received 10 kg Au for their defeat in the fifth place match, while Dunboor FC, this year’s stand-in for a club of actual importance, only managed fifth place and 11 kg Au. Each team in the consolation bracket was also given a plaque, complemented by larger goody bags with a total cash value of 218.6 g Au.

Playoff bracket
Semifinals
(SNO) Heathfield United 0–2 Boalluns FE (VPH)
(KRY) Mercia Bromham 1–2 Ciudad Soluca (SRG)

Third place match
(SNO) Heathfield United 1–2 Mercia Bromham (KRY)

Final
(VPH) Boalluns FE 1–2 Ciudad Soluca (SRG)

Heathfield United, who played unfairly enough in their domestic campaign that the Sorthern Football League was hesitant to admit that they were the fair play champions, received 12 kg Au for their impressive performance. Former winners Mercia Bromham, who were widely expected to knock the Sargossan representative into yet another third place match, were themselves awarded third place and 13 kg Au. In the tournament’s ultimate match, Ciudad Soluca ended Vephrall’s bid to become the first association to win two Invitationals, with Boalluns FE succumbing by a 2–1 scoreline. For their respective places, Boalluns FE received 14 kg Au and Ciudad Soluca 15 kg Au. Each team in the playoff bracket received a trophy, varying slightly in size based on the club’s placing, and each player of the top three teams received an appropriately-colored medal. The four teams also received goody bags, with a stated cash value of 490 g Au.

Élite League 2190–91

As previously predicted, Matthew Flinders FC withdrew from the Evestigatus Confederation of Sport to join Capitalizt SLANI, entering their league’s First Division (that’s the fourth tier, in case it wasn’t obvious from the name). Two other entrants to Paripanan football have joined Jasĭyun Ligĭ D. Liver Birds FC (“and Athletic Grounds Limited,” as some of their more pedantic fans insist, though we’re not aware of any club that has unlimited athletic grounds) is apparently named after some strange mythological creature, said to enjoy sacking underperforming managers in order to allow them to fail upward to the world’s top clubs. NVC Maastricht was founded by a group of disgruntled self-proclaimed “Nethertopian expatriates,” annoyed by the success of language-mixers Eintracht Maastricht, and the lack of flying dead pink ponies among their staff.

Élite League One
Sonoma Center Panthers won their tenth Élite League title in style, securing the honor with five matchdays to spare. After spending a season in League Two, San Diego Iguanas managed to make an instant jump from SBCC to Globe Cup football, where they will be joined by both of the league’s new clubs, CF Aéropag and Yûpo CCK, who coïncidentally finished level on points. San Solari will be rather disappointed to be the first team under the current Élite League format to fail to qualify for UICA competition from twelfth place, due to Jasĭyun’s decreased coëfficient and the Mariners’ loss in the League Cup final to relegated SpVgg Tolzerio.

As the SuperLiga season headed down the home straight the nation's bigger clubs just about kept the public's interest until the end. Prior to the season's opener Sporting San Marquez owner Daniel Gil controversially chose not to make permanent the contract of caretaker boss Daniel Navas, the man who had steered the Larissan giants into third place last season after the sacking of Agustín Durán. In his place Gil hired the former Ciudad Soluca and El din Marbles coach Félix Barreto who had been left cooling his heels after missing out on the Sargossa job.

And it was Barreto's former side who predictably proved the main obstacle to a spectacular return to the Archipelago. Come the final weekend Sporting held a two point lead over reigning champions Ciudad as they travelled to relegation threatened Racing Soluca. But any sense of drama was swiftly extinguished after a Marcinho double inside the first fifteen minutes. Proving time hasn't hindered Barreto's Superliga know-how. Ciudad were held 1 - 1 at great rivals El Nacional but had already done enough to secure the second TQCC spot Their Aeropag Invitational winner's goody bags probably helped the mood too. Alianza Jucaro enjoyed another fine season to finish third, a goal from Kukas Kujenai ensuring the season ended on a high in Torrienté.

Deportivo Soluca's campaign may have ended in defeat to already relegated Jaguarés at the crumbling Estadio José Romero in Durgos but the appointment of former Sargossan international Francisco Patiño to replace veteran Cafundénse Júlio Mercegues in the dugout turned their season around, the capitol's second side taking the other Globe Cup place.

Unusually two of the three promoted clubs actually managed to live to fight another day. S.C. Goza and Sportivo Torrienté both finishing comfortably clear of the Segunda trapdoor. Jaguarés continued their mission to change divisions every single season while Ciudad Jucaro and Racing Soluca followed the Jungle Cats out of the SuperLiga.

Heading up to the land of milk and honey is a brand new name after Costa Carranza took the Segunga Liga title with a final day win in Cienfuegos. The unassuming team from the equally unassuming town of Carranza on the northern coast of Sargosso have now enjoyed back to back promotions under talented young coach José Carrizo. Former SuperLiga sides S.C. Motril and Sportivo Maturín completed the promoted trio.

Down in Costa Azula Racing Club retained their title in a competition that seems to be getting less and less interesting. The FFS are looking into the potential of introducing a number of clubs from the neighbouring territory of Santazuela, potentially taking the league number up to sixteen.
