Well given Australia is home to more venomous snakes than anywhere else, giant crocodiles, killer spiders, giant spiders, plants that make you commit suicide due to stinging pain that lasts years, not to mention it bursts into flames every year and gets hot enough to cook eggs on pavement, I'd say it wants to kill you. 3-5 centimetres a year isn't leisurely, that's very fast for plate movement.
