To Chancellor Shulza,
My apologies for not getting to you sooner. It has been an exciting week indeed. But, I cannot quell these people no matter how hard I try. The people in this independence movement, albeit supporters and all small compared to the population of southern Germany/Austria, are a very loud one at that. I, as much as you do, want this country to stay together, for if we become independent, we are at the complete mercy of both Germany, Italy, Byzantine, and the Hungarians. We are one of the most powerful countries in the world... and to separate would be... unthinkable. I'm afraid you will have to find a solution to this problem yourself.
Kind regards,
~Austrian Emperor
Hm... I have been thinking of this for a while... it's... quite a dramatic move, but I think it will go well.

He finished his message and neatly put it in a compartment for mail, ready to be given to a mailing...well, the chancellor still couldn't wrap his head around it, but, as Benz had put it, chariots without horses. The new machines that Benz had been working on, had pleasantly surprised the German government, and used some of them for mailing. Though there weren't many, they were still prospects they would focus on for future purposes.
