The Story:
2018, the young anarchist nation of McFreedomstan™, shortly after it's independence from the Indonesian government, finds itself facing potential collapse. The Green Tide environmentalist commune deemed the mass deforestation needed to power Google's ethanol power plant a violation of the Non-Aggression Principle. On October 12th, Green Tide militiamen stormed the plant and detonated it's fuel stores, killing 54 workers and 40 security personnel. Google security personnel took this as a declaration of war and began fire bombing Green Tide territory prompting their military allies, The Union of Property Owners, to intervene and declare war against the Google Corporation.
Now faced with a formidable threat, Google petitioned The Board of Directors for military support. The Board, enticed by the opportunity to land the killing blow against The Union of Property Owners, promised to cease hostilities in the Contested Territory for the duration of the war in order to free up troops. Certain members of The Board agreed, but view the conflict as their chance to finally seize the ore rich mountains of the Contested Territory. Corporation and private citizen face off in a brutal war that will determine the ownership of the island's natural and intellectual resources. Ethic groups are wiped out, children are enslaved, religious groups are slaughtered, and opportunistic mercenaries carve out their own independent empires.
All the while, the small vestige of the government, the McFreedomstan Self-Defense Force™, unable to take any action due to the constitutional guarantee of full sovereignty to each Sulawesi resident, sits idly by. The General of the McFreedomstan Self-Defense Force™ has pledged that he will still abide by the promise of waging total war against any nation who wishes to deploy troops to the island, regardless of which side they take. Economic and material support, however, is still allowed, provided your cargo has no military escort.
Foreign leaders watch anxiously as the body count piles up, and the economic opportunity becomes more and more lucrative. Many share concerns over what type of nation will arise from the ashes. Will a new anarchy be born? Will a warlord rise to power? Or will a foreign nation decide enough is enough and annex the island? Only time will tell.

The Factions:
The Board of Directors
Comprised of all the major corporate entities in McFreedomstan™, The Board of Directors serves as an organization to help enforce legislation within corporate territory, as well as handling foreign and internal relations. Though its members are often engaged in territorial wars among themselves, they're still willing to form temporary military alliances should they deem it beneficial. The Board of Directors does not have any official personnel and is solely comprised of whatever it's members are willing to commit to it. Currently board member territory accounts for 17,000,000 residents of McFreedomstan™, as well as 78% of annual GDP. It's security forces range from foreign mercenaries wielding soviet weaponry to battle hardened professionals with state of the art weaponry. Most of it's armored vehicles and aircraft have been purchased from Belgium, China, India and The Russian Federation.

The Union of Property Owners
Comprised of 8,000,000 private citizens, Anarchists, Fascists, Slavers, Socialists, Communists, Theocracies, Feudal Lords, Democratic City-States, Republics, and Autonomous Communities , the Union of Property Owners represents a military pact meant to contest corporate powers on the Island. It is not a legislative body, but faction leaders often use it as a platform for discussing matters of foreign policy and trade. It's Individual members are solely responsible for all their survival and logistical needs, though charity between factions is not unheard of. Inter-faction warfare is a daily occurrence, stopping only when a common enemy encroaches on their territory. It accounts for 20% of annual GDP, though their economy is mostly based on providing mercenary services and arms manufacturing. It's collective military forces, while massive, are largely unimpressive. Seasoned veterans, illiterate militiamen, child soldiers, slaves, religious police, modernized feudal knights, and armed private citizens make up its diverse ranks. Most of their equipment comes from Malaysia, Vietnam, the old soviet bloc, and Saudi Arabia. Common firearms include the Mosin Nagant, AKM, and the RPK. UPO members often jokingly state that they saved the Uzbekistan economy after placing an order for 500 T-34's.

The McFreedomstan Self-Defense Force™
The McFreedomstan™ Self-Defense Force (MFSDF™) is a military organization composed of the remnants of the old revolutionary army. They are the only public military in McFreedomstan™ and survive from a voluntary income tax that private citizens can pay in order to receive it's law enforcement services. It works in unison with the numerous private military's on the island in order to repel foreign nations from blockading and invading McFreedomstan™. Outside of that, the MFSDF™ does not get involved in any internal conflicts that do not affect those under it's protection. MFSDF™ forces are held to a high standard by the nation's inhabitants and are expected to respect each citizen's constitutionally granted sovereignty. The MFSDF™ is staffed by 26,300 frontline personnel, with another 5,700 in reserve. It is currently engaged in a cold war against the Indonesian™ government.

- 1. No nuclear weapons or ICMB's. If they were available McFreedomstan™ would've recreationally McNuked™ the entire planet.
2. Be realistic with any military deployments. This takes place in 2018, so if you deploy 800 Abrams in one week, your nation is probably gonna bleed its economy dry. Don't expect your troops to be welcome either. These factions have a hard time not killing their allies, let alone foreign interventionists.
3. It's 2018, your technology could've only advanced so much. I'll leave some room for plausible tech, but don't bring your Warhammer 40k infantry into this.
4. If you claim a portion of the map, but are inactive for 1 week, you'll be removed from the RP. You can always rejoin, but that land might not be available.
